Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Flight Hot Foils, Card 2

Yep – another hot foils card using the Butterfly Flight Hot Foils Dies. 😀 In my post on 7/9, you say the die cuts made & colored… this time I used the foil left over from the transfer to create this card. Let nothing go to waste is the motto. hee hee. I took a panel of Basic White, Blending Brushes & Pool Party & Granny Apple Green and added color to the card stock panel. I then laid the ‘leftover’ foil on top after strategically adding Stampin’ Seal in various areas. This held the foil in place &allowed the colors to come through where the gold foil was transferred to something else. I used the piece with the die cuts removed, put dimensionals on the back & attached them together. The card base is Pool Party, standard A2 size (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4) and the new card front was added with adhesive of choice. Because I had a remaining butterfly I added it as well with two Rhinestone Basic Jewels, then added more of the same to all the butterflies on the card front.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Flight Hot Foil card 2

For the inside, I stamped the sweet lily from Lily of the Valley stamp set (yes, it comes with dies!) with Basic Gray ink and colored with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends and Shimmer Brush in Barely Blush. The sentiment is from the Lily of the Valley stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink. The panel was added to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Flight inside card w/ Lily of the Valley

For the envelope… the same lily from Lily of the Valley stamp set was stamped on the front in basic Gray ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Granny Apple Green and Shimmer Brush in Barely Blush. The flap got a 2 1/4 x 6 strip of the Valley In Bloom 12×12 DSP added & trimmed to fit. Love, love.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Flight Hot Foil card & envelope

Oh my goodness… using the hot foil is so much fun… and adds another bit of elegance to any card. I keep learning.. & playing 😀

– The Hot Foil System, foil rolls and new hot foil dies and bundles will be available Friday, 10 July 2026 in the online Stampin’ Up! store.

– A FREE Hot Foil Online Class from Stampin’ Up! is included with your hot foil system purchase (a $30 value!), do not add the class separately to your cart (you’ll be charged for it if you do!). You’ll automatically get a link to it after you purchase the Stampin’ Hot Foil System.

– The Stampin’ Hot Foil system is $160.  Dies & foil are sold separately.

For now – think about it – get excited – and – you can order it from me here

Stampin’ Up! More Shaped Cards

Happy belated fourth! It has been beastly hot here on the East Coast – 104 yesterday with a heat index of 111. I’ve been playing again… more shaped cards; one of which we made in card class Jul 2.

Stampin' Up! Bloom Bouquet Shaped Card front

This first card begins with the Scalloped Blooms Dies, the largest & next to largest. The card stock is Lost Lagoon 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 14. This could make a portrait or a landscape card depending on where you place the flowers & leaves, sentiment. As you can see I chose landscape. With the fold at the top, lay the die so it uses most of the card – with maybe 5 of the scallops not on the card stock. (see photo) Run it through the die cutting machine twice so it cuts through both layers of card stock. Now cut the next layer with the next smaller Scalloped Blooms Die – here I used Basic White and about three of the scallops are off the panel. Layer these together with liquid glue – and decorate.

With Bouquet Blossoms stamp set, I stamped two of the same flower & the smaller buds with Basic Gray ink then colored with Barely Blush for one & The Shimmer Brush in Barely Blush for the other. I also used Golden Glow on that same flower for the center, then die cut these. I then die cut two three-section leaves from Lost Lagoon, then one more flower from Shimmer Paper in Barely Blush (that die cut is different!) I stamped a sentiment from the Bouquet Blossoms stamp set in Lost Lagoon ink & set it aside. The darker flower got dimensionals, the lighter stamped flower was attached with liquid glue then a dimensional on the right side. The bud die cut was slipped under & attached with a dab of liquid glue, then the leaves were added, also with liquid glue. The Shimmer paper flower was added last – liquid glue and a dimensional at the top to make it raised – this gives the card lots of dimension. I added the sentiment with dimensionals. Final touch – three 2026-2028 In Color Dots in Barely Blush.

For the inside… this die cut was centered, and not all the way to the fold. You can do it either way. Two more stamps from Bouquet Blossoms stamped in Basic Gray ink. The single flower is colored with the Shimmer Brush in Golden Glow. Simple – attached the inside panel – done!

Stampin' Up! Bloom Bouquet card & envelope, Shaped C
ard

For the envelope… same images from the Bouquet Blossoms stamp set in Basic Gray ink stamped on the front. A 2 1/4 x 6 strip of … DSP was added to the flap & trimmed to fit. This is a very feminine kind of card – but could easily be a wedding or anniversary card, just by changing the sentiment.

And here’s my 2nd shaped card… using the Banner Dies: 5th, 6th & 7th from the largest. It features the Silly Old Bear 12×12 DSP, Silly Old Friends bundle & the Sweet Words & Labels bundle.

Stampin' Up! Shaped Card w/ Banner Dies & Silly Old Bear Suite

The card stock base is 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2 – Mossy Meadow. Lay the short flat edge close to the closed card base & run through the die cutting machine twice. With the 6th from largest banner die, cut the DSP two times (one for front & one for inside.) Adhere one to the card front & the other to the inside. Die cut two leaves from Mossy Meadow & two from Basic Beige using the Sweet Words & Labels Dies. Die cut the two banners: Mossy Meadow & the other from the Silly Old Bear DSP. Layer these together with liquid glue then attached over the card front with dimensionals. Add a touch of color to the leaves with Golden Glow & a sponge dauber, then slip them under the banner adhering with liquid glue. You can easily add dimensionals to the leaf ends to give them aa bit of flair.

Stampin' Up! Shaped Card inside w/ Banner Dies & Silly Old Bear

For the inside… with the 7th largest Banner Die, die cut the Basic White sentiment panel. With the Sweet Old Friends stamp set, stamp the Piglet image in Memento ink & color with Blends: Old Olive Crumb Cake & Golden Glow. Stamp the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink using the same Silly Old Bear stamp set. Adhere the panel to the inside.

Stampin' Up! Shaped Card & envelope w/ Silly Old Bear Suite

For the envelope… more of the Silly Old Bear 12×12 DSP attached to the flap & trimmed to fit. On the front – stamp the same image as inside the card & color similarly. My grandson loves Winnie the Pooh stuff & I think I need to send this to him to give to his fiancee’ – what do you think?!

And the two cards…

Stampin’ Up! Bloom Boutique SDSP & Scalloped Blooms Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome! It’s Thursday & time for our Happy Inkin’ hop 😀. There are some talented folks in the group so be sure to check out what they have created. We have a color challenge today & I made two very different cards; both use the Bloom Boutique SDSP & the Scalloped Blooms Bundle.

Stampin' Up! Blog Hop button
Stampin' Up! Blog Hop Color challenge

Below are the two cards I created for this color challenge. I would really like to know if you have a favorite!

For the card on the left I used the Scalloped Blooms Dies to die cut flowers & centers from various papers in the Bloom Boutique Specialized Designer Series Paper (SDSP). I added them to the created card front: Crisp Cantaloupe card base (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2) with a layer of Basic White (4 1/8 x 5 3/8) & Bloom Boutique SDSP (4 x 5 1/4) that were added to the card base with dimensionals. I die cut leaves from Peaceful Pine & slipped them around the flowers. In the smallest flower I added a single 2026-2028 In Color Dot in Golden Glow. The sentiment is stamped with VersaMark ink & sprinkled with Metallic WOW! embossing powder in Gold & heat set. I then die cut it with a die from Scalloped Blooms Dies. I snipped thin strips from each of the 2036-2028 In Color 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon & slipped them through the hole in the die cut, then tied a Linen Thread Bow to secure them in place. The sentiment was added to the front with dimensionals.

For the card on the right I cut strips from various papers in the Bloom Boutique SDSP: 1 x 4 3/4, 3/4 x 4 3/4 & 1 1/2 x 4 3/4. These were added to a Peaceful Pine laiyer 3 1/2 x 4 7/8. This was added to the Barely Blush card base (8 1/2 x 5 12 scored at 4 1/4). I wrapped a Barely Blush 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon around and secured it in back. I took the remaining bits of ribbon from the first card & tied each one in a kinot on the Barely Blush ribbon. I stamped the sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink from Scalloped Blooms satmp set on a Basic White scrap then die cut it with a Scalloped Blooms Die. I added dimensionals to the back & sdecured it in place. Final touch… five 2026-2028 In Color Dots in Peaceful Pine.

Stampin' Up! Bloom Boutique floral card front
Stampin' Up! Bloom Boutique Varied Papers Birthday card front

For the insides of these two cards… the card on the left has stripes added with the various In Color Shimmer Brushes found on page 77 in the May-August 2026 Catalog. Once these dried I stamped the sentiment from scalloped Blooms in Black ink. The card on the right has a simple 1/2″ x 4 strip of the Bloom Boutique SDSP at the bottom. The sentiment is stamped in Peaceful Pine ink and is from Scalloped Blooms stamp set.

Envelopes… Each envelope has a 2 1/4 x 6 strip of the Bloom Boutique SDSP added to the flap & trimmed to fit. And that’s it! So… what’s your favorite card? I’d love to know!

Stampin’ Up! Artisan Sketched Garden DSP + Framed All Around Sympathy Card

Hello Saturday! We are in full rain for the next 48 hours mode… Maybe I can play in my craft room 😀 or… get some other projects completed. Today I have a sympathy card made with Artisan Sketched Garden and some Stampin’ Blends and oh yes, some Berry Botanical Vellum.

Stampin' Up! Artisan Sketched Garden & Framed All Around Sympathy card front

I began by coloring the pretty floral images on the Artisan Sketched Garden DSP: Peaceful Pine for the leaves, Fresh Freesia & Golden Glow for the flowers. Interesting combination, right? I took my cue for this combination by looking at the Berry Botanical Vellum which has an even larger mix of colors. I backed this with a panel of Golden Glow card stock then wrapped it with 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon in Golden Glow. I took another short length and slipped it under the ribbon & tied a knot. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink on Basic White scrap & fussy cut it & placed it on the front with dimensionals. I cut a piece of the grid vellum from the Berry Botanical Vellum pack & backed it with Fresh Freesia. This was adhered directly to the polka dot pattern of the Artisan Sketched Garden that was already on a Card base of Basic Black.

Stampin' Up! Artisan Sketched Garden & Framed All Around Sympathy card inside

For the inside… I stamped the sentiment using the Framed All Around stamp set & Memento Black ink then stamped the ‘frame’ in two places with Fresh Freesia ink. The Basic White was secured to the card base & the card was complete.

Stampin' Up! Artisan Sketched Garden & Framed All Around sympathy card & envelope

For the envelope… I stamped this leaf image in Memento Black ink & colored the leaves with Peaceful Pine Stampin’ Blends. On the flap is another of the Artisan Sketched Garden DSP in the polka dot pattern used for the card front. I love how this card turned out, sweet to look at and gentle thoughts. This card goes in the mail today.

Stampin’ Up! W/V Fun Fold with Silly Old Bear

Good morning, good morning! It is a bleak looking day here today – cloudy, overcast, 55 degrees. Of course 2 days ago it was 94! We made this card two weeks ago in card class & I forgot to post it 😖. It is so cute… Silly Old Bear DSP, Hundred Acre Woods embossing Folder & coordinating Sweet Words & Lab els bundle. These are all from the May ONLINE EXCLUSIVES.

Stampin' Up! Silly Old Bear May ONLINE W/V Fun Fold

I used the dies from Sweet Words & Labels to die cut this image straight from the Silly Old Bear DSP. The layer behind the DSP is Golden Glow card stock, one of the new In Colors for 2026-2028. I used Wink of Stella on the Balloon & Hydrangea Hue for stamping the sentiment from Sweet Words & Labels stamp set. Let’s look at the inside of the card so you can see the whole image.

Stampin' Up! Silly Old Bear W/V Fun Fold inside card

The DSP layers here are all from the Silly Old Bear DSP – gorgeous aren’t they? And the card stock layers are Golden Glow. The card base is Very Vanilla and the embossed panel is also Very Vanilla, embossed with Hundred Acre Woods 3D embossing Folder as I mentioned earlier. The images for the V panel were fussy cut from the Silly Old Bear DSP & stamped with the Sweet Words & Labels stamp set: either Golden Glow or Hydrangea Hue.

Directions for a W/V fun fold:

  • The card base is 11 x 5 1/2 scored on the long side @ 1 3/4, 3 1/2, 5 1/4, & 7
  • Card stock layers 1 1/2 x 5 1/4 – cut 4; 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 + embossed panel 3 5/8 x 5 1/8
  • DSP layers 1 3/8 x 5 1/8 – cut 4, 2 different patterns
  • Die cut images from Silly Old Bear DSP using the Sweet Words & Labels Dies; die cut card stock layer for behind each image with next size larger die
  • Embossed the largest panel for the inside back – Hundred Acre Woods EF
  • Adhere Layers together & attach to card base
  • Cut another panel of card stock (here it is Very Vanilla) 6 x 3 & score on long side @ 3″; attache to front panel & last scored panel to create the V – see photo below. Decorate the right panel w/ card stock layer 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 then Very Vanilla layer 2 5/8 x 2 5/8. This last layer is stamped & decorated prior to attaching.
  • Attach die cuts from DSP; add additional fussy cut layer for inside back panel & stamp sentiment in Hydrangea Hue
Stampin' Up! W/V Fun Fold from the top

I love how this card turned out! And it can used for all kinds of reasons. I’m sending this to a friend who needs a little ‘pick me up’.

Stampin’ Up! Waterside Retreat Father’s Day card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday & time for another Blog Hop from this fabulous Krew! We have a sketch challenge today that is so versatile and can be used for lots of cards – birthdays, sympathy, you name it. I chose this Waterside Retreat DSP as this card is for a fisherman for Father’s Day. I think this fits well!

Stampin' Up! Blog logo
Stampin' Up! Blog sketch challenge
Stampin' Up! Waterside Retreat sketch challenge

Here’s what I did to create this card… I first cut a panel of the Waterside Retreat DSP 3 3/4 x 5 1/2 & added a slip margin of Azure Afternoon card stock to the one side. I set this aside and cut a 1 x 5 1/2 piece of the same DSP (it’s the reverse side of the fish images) and added it to the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Azure Afternoon card base (yep, scored at 4 1/4. I then added the set aside panel. These were all added with liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment in Azure Afternoon ink using the Relaxing Waterside stamp set, on the Azure Afternoon 5/8 x 2 1/2″ strip. I attached this to a Crisp Cantaloupe 3/4 x 2 1/2 strip & slipped a large Linen Thread bow between dimensionals & attached it with a glue dot to the strip. The strip was added to the card front with dimensionals as mentioned. Final touch – 2026-2028 In Color Dots in Crisp Cantaloupe.

Stampin' Up! Waterside Retreat inside card

For the inside… A 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Basic White with a strip of the Waterside Retreat DSP 3/4 x 5 1/4 was then stamped with na sentiment from the Relaxing Waterside stamp set in Azure Afternoon ink. This was added to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Waterside Retreat card & envelope

For the envelope… a 2 1/4 x 6″ strip of the Waterside Retreat was added to the flapn & trimmed to fit. On the front a simple grass stamped in Old Olive ink three times without re-inking in between. This gives a sense of dimension to the image. Love the simplicity!

Stampin’ Up! Purse Gift Bag with Scalloped Blooms Bundle & Lazy Daisy EF

I’m seeing one of our daughters this weekend & I needed a small gift bag – this design popped up and I loved it: here’s my creation.

Stampin' Up! Purse Gift Bag in Cloud Cover

It begins with card stock 8 x 11; I chose Cloud Cover. Score it with the 8″ up on the paper trimmer @ 2″; turn it a full 180 degrees and do the same again. With the 11″ side at top of paper trimmer, score @ 4 1/2″, rotate 180 degrees & score again at 4 1/2″. With the short side at top again, mark 2″ from the up from the first horizontal score line, then 2″ down from the 2nd horizontal score line. Do this on both sides with short side at top. Burnish all score lines. After burnishing, the folds should look like the photo below.

Add adhesive to long area with diagonal score & fold in to secure. I should look like the photo below.

Emboss & die cut a piece of Basic White for the flap. I chose the Lazy Daisy 3D embossing folder and Scalloped Blooms Dies (2nd from largest). I lightly marked a center line on the die cut & scored 1/4″ on either side of it & burnished with my fingers. I adhered this to the back of the gift bag up to the first score line. Cut a length of ribbon (about 12″) and attach each end between the score lines on the newly created flap. See left photo below. Cover this area with a 3/8″ wide strip 4″ long to secure the ribbons in place. Add a Velcro dot to the flap. See right photo below.

Close purse – not too tightly – to adhere other half of Velcro dot. Decorate as desired.

I used a leftover portion of the embossed Basic White piece used to make the flap to die cut the sentiment banner & attached it directly to the front of the purse. The die was another of the Scalloped Blooms Dies. I stamped the sentiment using the Scalloped Blooms stamp set & Cloud Cover ink on a scrap of Basic White and fussy cut it. I put dimensionals on the back of the fussy cut sentiment & attached it to the embossed banner.

Finishing touches… I took another length of the 3/8″ Faux Ribbon in Cloud Cover and tied a bow & attached it with liquid glue, holding it in place to secure. I then added two 2026-2028 In Color Dots in Golden Glow – one to the banner & one to the center of the flap opening. I will stuff the inside with a bit of shredded paper & add the gift. 🎁 LOVE THIS!

The pink images were my sample pieces… forgive me 😊

I hope you like this little purse gift bag. What’s extra nice is this can be stored flat after making it – no stuffing inside of course! Want to make this cutie? See the items below for product information.

Stampin’ Up! Scenic Coast Suite in a Fun Fold for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Oh yes – ’tis almost time for sailing season! For some it’s already here… and I’m all ‘a flutter’ over this new bundle & it’s coordinating Scenic Coast SDSP & the Sunset Sparkle Sequins. ❤️ The theme for this hop is to make something for the ‘men/ boys’ in our lives. This card relates to that as we sold our sailboat last year & it was tough. But we have such fond memories of our sailing days that it’s ok. 👍

On the inside I added the second panel of the Scenic Coast DSP to the inside on the right of the card. Next to it is a Basic White stamped panel 2 3/4 x 5 1/4. The sentiment is from the Sunset Coast stamp set & I used Night of Navy ink.

Final touch on the inside was this fabulous die cut that looks like netting, and I added it with dabs of liquid glue to the left portion of the card. – And done! The card looks like this from the top.
