Stampin’ Up! Highlighting Country Cottage DSP for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Posted on October 8, 2026 by TL's Bright Spot

Good morning, good morning & happy Thursday! We have cooler temps these days on the Jersey Shore and the treews are beginning to turn, some a yellow, some a gorgeous tinge of red and some orange. This time of year always fascinates me. Our hummingbirds have left for the season too – just prior to the Nor’easter that blew through. What’s going on in your part of the world?

On with the hop! Thanks for stopping in. The sketch below indicates Oct 1, but it really is for Oct 8!

I began with a Crumb Cake card base and a Country Cottage DSP cut 4 x 4 1/2 layered on Secret Sea 4 x 5. I wrapped around the white Baker’s Twine (from the Essential pack) & tied a bow, securing this in place with a glue dot. I added the Secret Sea & DSP layer with dimensionals and attached it to the card base. I then added three Natural Mat Dots in Secret Sea.

For the inside… I stamped this beautiful wreath from Cottage Kindness stamp set in Crumb Cake ink (and YES _ this has a coordinating die!!!) The sweet bow is also from Cottage Kindness stamp set & is stamped in Secret Sea ink. The Basic White panel is 4 x 4 1/2 and the Secret Sea layer is 4 x 5 1/4. The Cottage Kindness bundle are part of the November ONLINE EXCLUSIVES that will be available Nov 3. Gorgeous set! Gorgeous Suite of products!

For the envelope… more of the Country Cottage 12 x 12 DSP on the flap & trimmed to fit. I needed a masculine kind of card and this works so well! I stamped the sentiment ‘for you’ on the envelope front in Secret Sea ink and it too is from the Cottage Kindness set. Below is an image of the suite.

Stampin’ Up! Step card w/ Scenic Coast 6 x 6 DSP

Posted on August 22, 2026 by TL's Bright Spot

Scenic Coast DSP is shiny on the lower half of the paper. It has stunning sunset/ sunrise type scenes over water and the colors are muted yet bright. That doesn’t make sense, right – but it’s true.. Let’s take a peek at this pretty card.

Stampin' Up! Step card front w/ Scenic Coast 6x6 DSP

Can you see the steps on the card front? They start narrow at the top & get wider each ‘step’. And using the Scenic Coast 6×6 DSP makes it easy to follow that pattern for the inside of the card. See the photo on the left below for that, then see the photo below on the right with the steps folded back – and the scene continues. You need at least 2 pieces of the DSP to make this work.

The Sunset Coast bundle works so well together with this DSP. I cut the sailboat and the seagulls from a scrap of the DSP with the Sunset Coast Dies, reversing the paper to create the red sailboat on the card front. The sentiment on the front & inside is stamped in Secret Sea ink using the Sunset Coast stamp set. I used Sunset Sparkle Sequins for embellishment. The card base is Balmy Blue 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4.

Stampin' Up Step card w/ Scenic Coast, scene continues

Stampin' Up! Step card w/ Scenic Coast 6x6, folded back

This is what the card looks like from the top / down.

And here is my template with the proper measurements.

Stampin' Up! Step card measurements, front

Stampin' Up! Step card measurements, inside

For the envelope, I used a scrap of the Scenic Coast 6×6 that shared similar colors. The small sailboats on the front are stamped in Secret Sea, Crushed Curry & Strawberry Slush – coordinating colors listed on the paper pack, and from the Sunset Coast stamp set.

Below is a list of the products to make this card. You will notice that there is a Scenic Coast Suite of Products included. Remember there is a paper sale through August 31 & last chance products too.

Stampin’ Up! Show off for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Posted on August 13, 2026 by TL's Bright Spot

Welcome to today’s hop! We have a sketch challenge today and it was really hard for me to decide just what to showcase – so many new products I want to share. I had recently played with this DSP & well, it tugged at me.

This DSP is just so pretty! I love the colors, flowers (sunflowers & more) and checks – so perfectly fall. These are from a suite of products on page ___ in the Sep-Dec 2026 Catalog. The other product in the suite that I used are the Radiant Gems (there are 3). The sentiment is stamped in Pecan Pie on Very Vanilla then fussy cut w/ my paper snips. The backgrounds for all the designer series papers is Cajun Craze and the card base is Pecan Pie. Measurements may be found at the end of this post.

Stampin' Up! Sunflower Fields card front

And here’s the inside… look at that beautiful sunflower – that’s from the coordinating stamp set called Radiant Sunflowers – all from the Sep-Dec 2026 Catalog. The stamp set has coordinating dies but I did not use them on this card. The layers are Cajun Craze & Very Vanilla.

Stampin' Up! Sunflower Fields card inside

For the envelope… Here’s that beautiful sunflower again – on the envelope front. I stamped it in Pecan Pie then used the Golden Glow Shimmer Brush on the petals & light Pecan Pie for the center – same as the sunflower on the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Sunflower Fields card & envelope

This could so easily be a masculine card even though there are flowers. The colors just fit! It could be sympathy or it could be birthday – just add the appropriate sentiment. 😀

Today is a hop – so check out what others on the team have created. Click on the next button to visit Charlene or click on a name to visit that post. Measurements for this card & how to order from me are listed below.

Stampin’ Up! Scenic Coast for a Fun Fold

Posted on June 28, 2026 by TL's Bright Spot

Good morning… I’ve two cards for you today using the Sunset Coast suite of products – and they are another quick & easy fun fold. Pictures of this suite may be found in the May-August 2026 Catalog on pages 26-27.

Stampin' Up! Scenic Coast Suite fun fold

Since both of therse are made the same way, it’s easy to make a few at the same time.The card base is Night of Navy 8 1/2 x 5 12 scored at 1 1/2 & 4 1/4. Burnish these folds as a mountain, valley. In other words, that first score folds back on itself, making the card look like a backwards Z. The Scenic Coast 6×6 SDSP is cut 2 3/4 x 5 1/4, 1 1/8 x 5 1/4 , &non the lighthouse card an additional 2 7/8 x 5 1/4. The Basic White sentiment panels are 2 3/4 x 5 1/4 or 1 7/8 x 5 1/4.

Stampin' Up! Scenic Coast fun fold, from the top

For the die cuts: a 3 1/4″ square will die cut the lighthouse, or the Sailboat or the sun rays. An additional die was used to die cut the outside circle for the lighthouse – a Stitched Shapes Die, the largest. The birds were die cut from a scrap – it’s just one die for all three birds. The netting was cut from a Basic White about 2 1/2 x 2 3/4 and the seashells were die cut from Lemon Lolly and a Blending Brush with Pecan Pie ink to give them some dimension. The Sailboats were stamped in Melon Mambo and the waters in Balmy Blue. The sequins are the wonderful Sunset Sparkle Sequins that are part of the suite, matching the colors of the Scenic Coast 6×6 SDSP.

Stampin’ Up! Waterside Retreat DSP for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Posted on June 25, 2026 by TL's Bright Spot

Welcome to Thursday and this fun Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! You’ll see some creative stuff today I’m sure. We have a color challenge and it’s perfect for the Waterside Retreat DSP – all the colors in the challenge are used 😀.

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

The cards front image was cut out directly from the patterned paper and added to a background of Pecan Pie. Another pattern in the Waterside Retreat DSP was added to the Pool Party card base., then the picture image pieces were attached with dimensionals. I cut out a single oar from another piece of the Waterside Retreat & attached it with liquid glue and a small dimensional on the oar ends. I added the Loose Anchor Trinket with glue dots after adding a length of Linen Thread & tying it in a knot – all with glue dots. Then I cut three lengths of of card stock 1/2 x 2 1/4 (Basic White, Pool Party & Pecan Pie), created pointy ends layered then together with dabs of glue then slipped them under one end of the trinket attaching with a dab of glue. Oh – and the sentiment… from the Relaxing Waterside stamp set stamped in Pecan Pie ink.

Stampin' Up! Waterside Retreat DSP Masculine card

This is just a perfect masculine card for many occasions… could be birthday, retirement, promotion – just lots of opportunities. There are so many parts of this card that I like: the added trinket, the three (3) banners, the oar, the SCENE! It’s peaceful, calm, nothing demanding about it. It ‘rests’ easily. This DSP – Waterside Retreat – is just so special – it can be masculine or it could be feminine. While I called this a masculine card in a ‘tag’, it doesn’t have to be. This could be anyone who appreciates fishing, being on the water for any reason, relaxing, watching birds & the life of a place like this – a camp maybe..

Stampin' Up! Waterside Retreat inside card

For the inside … a Basic White panel attached to Pecan Pie and added to the inside of the card base. Then a life vest fussy cut with paper snips added with liquid glue.

Stampin' Up! Waterside Retreat DSP card & envelope

The envelope … more of the Waterside Retreat DSP on the flap trimmed to fit. For the front seagulls were stamped in stamped off once Gray Granite ink.

Stampin’ Up! Waterside Retreat Father’s Day card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Posted on May 21, 2026 by TL's Bright Spot

It’s Thursday & time for another Blog Hop from this fabulous Krew! We have a sketch challenge today that is so versatile and can be used for lots of cards – birthdays, sympathy, you name it. I chose this Waterside Retreat DSP as this card is for a fisherman for Father’s Day. I think this fits well!

Stampin' Up! Waterside Retreat sketch challenge

Here’s what I did to create this card… I first cut a panel of the Waterside Retreat DSP 3 3/4 x 5 1/2 & added a slip margin of Azure Afternoon card stock to the one side. I set this aside and cut a 1 x 5 1/2 piece of the same DSP (it’s the reverse side of the fish images) and added it to the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Azure Afternoon card base (yep, scored at 4 1/4. I then added the set aside panel. These were all added with liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment in Azure Afternoon ink using the Relaxing Waterside stamp set, on the Azure Afternoon 5/8 x 2 1/2″ strip. I attached this to a Crisp Cantaloupe 3/4 x 2 1/2 strip & slipped a large Linen Thread bow between dimensionals & attached it with a glue dot to the strip. The strip was added to the card front with dimensionals as mentioned. Final touch – 2026-2028 In Color Dots in Crisp Cantaloupe.

For the inside… A 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Basic White with a strip of the Waterside Retreat DSP 3/4 x 5 1/4 was then stamped with na sentiment from the Relaxing Waterside stamp set in Azure Afternoon ink. This was added to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Waterside Retreat card & envelope

For the envelope… a 2 1/4 x 6″ strip of the Waterside Retreat was added to the flapn & trimmed to fit. On the front a simple grass stamped in Old Olive ink three times without re-inking in between. This gives a sense of dimension to the image. Love the simplicity!

Stampin’ Up! Waterside Retreat Suite for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Posted on May 14, 2026 by TL's Bright Spot

Hello Thursday – time for another amazing hop of the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We have a theme challenge today and I had trouble making a decision as to what suite or bundle or DSP exactly to use – so many from which to choose! But the Waterside Retreat Suite won 😀

A friend of mine is retiring soon and this card is perfect for him. I think it fits our theme perfgectly.

Stampin' Up! Waterside Retreat Card front

Gray Granite 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4; Pool Party two tone 4 x 5 1/4 embossed w/ So Swirly; Gray Granite again 4 3/8 x 3 7/8; & layer of DSP 4 1/4 x 3 3/4 attached with dimensionals. Fussy cut the life jacket & oars aa& add with dimensionals + liquid adhesive. The sentiment is stamped in Pecan Pie using the Relaxing Waterside stamp set. I wrapped a length of Baker’s Twine around twice & looped through the Loose Anchor Trinket. It’s attached with a dimentional on the left end and liquid glue on the right. The anchor trinkent has a single glue dot to keep it secure on the card

Stampin' Up! Waterside Retreat card inside

For the inside… a layer of Pool Party 4 x 5 1/4 adhered to the inside of the card. On the Basic White I used Crumb Cake & a Blending Brush to add color to the lower portion (like sand). On the top portion is a mix of Balmy Blue & Pool Party & a Blending Brush resembling sky. I stamped the chair in Pecan Pie ink then using Light Pecan Pie to add more shading. The sentiment is also in Pecan Pie; the birds are in Gray Granite. Each stamp is from the Relaxed Waterside stamp set.

On the envelope… more seagulls stamped in Gray Granite and on the flap another of the aterside Retreat DSP 2 1/4 x 6 & trimmed to fit.

Stampin’ Up! Scenic Coast Suite in a Fun Fold for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Posted on May 12, 2026 by TL's Bright Spot

Oh yes – ’tis almost time for sailing season! For some it’s already here… and I’m all ‘a flutter’ over this new bundle & it’s coordinating Scenic Coast SDSP & the Sunset Sparkle Sequins. ❤️ The theme for this hop is to make something for the ‘men/ boys’ in our lives. This card relates to that as we sold our sailboat last year & it was tough. But we have such fond memories of our sailing days that it’s ok. 👍

Stampin' Up! Scenic Coast Suite fun fold card inside

On the inside I added the second panel of the Scenic Coast DSP to the inside on the right of the card. Next to it is a Basic White stamped panel 2 3/4 x 5 1/4. The sentiment is from the Sunset Coast stamp set & I used Night of Navy ink.

Final touch on the inside was this fabulous die cut that looks like netting, and I added it with dabs of liquid glue to the left portion of the card. – And done! The card looks like this from the top.

Stampin’ Up! Sketch Challenge for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Posted on November 20, 2025 by TL's Bright Spot

Good morning… it’s Thursday and you KNOW what that means – the wonderful Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We have some very talented folks on this team & it amazes me what folks create. I hope you appreciate all the talent you see on our hops. It is so funny, I was a week ahead of myself & made something for that… so I re-grouped!

Yesterday I received a Stampin’ Up! package with items from the Jan-April 2026 Mini Catalog, along with my catalog! YAY! So, in re-grouping and with the new items, I created something, well, different for me. My hubby really likes it – so hopefully you will too.

Stampin' Up! Nature's Symphony card front

The items on this card are all from the Nature’s Walk Suite Collection in the new January – April 2026 Mini Catalog. First off, I cannot believe we are quickly moving into 2026!!! How did that happen? Secondly – this suite is full of gorgeous Designer Series Paper (2!), embellishments, a bundle & ribbon. I used all but the ribbon for this card. Check the texture on the paper behind the leaf die cut. That’s called Natural Hues Textured Specialty Paper. And the die cut leaf is from one of the Nature Walk DSP; the panel at the bottom is from the same sheet. The odd-shaped cuts in the paper – a die from the Nature’s Symphony Dies. More texture! And the piece with the holes – another die. And of course, it was cut from the same piece of DSP!

I used additional products to make this card… the Textured Notes Dies (third from largest), Very Vanilla card stock & Secret Sea ink.

Stampin' Up! Nature's Symphony, inside card

For the inside of the card… Another strip of the Nature Walk DSP across the bottom of a 4 x 5 1/4 panel of Very Vanilla; the leaf is actually a portion of the leaf from the leaf on the card front :O) The sentiment is from Nature’s Symphony stamp set – stamped in Secret Sea ink. There’s another stamp on there too, on the paper under the leaf, it’s just really hard to see, but it comes from this stamp set as well.

Stampin' Up! Nature's Symphony card & envelope

Card & envelope… I left this in the ‘large’ size so you can see the texture on the larger panel of Specialty Paper. I will definitely be playing more with this set! You can see more photos below of the products in this suite – the Nature Walk Suite Collection – out in the January- April 2026 Mini Catalog.

Take a ‘walk’ through the folks participating in today’s hop by clicking the link below or clicking on a name. Enjoy!

Here are photos of this suite of products, plus the front of the catalog. You can see I tabbed it already so I can find what I’m looking for more easily.

Stampin’ Up! Prairie Grass and Thoughtful Journey

Posted on September 2, 2025 by TL's Bright Spot

Good Tuesday, Sep 2 and 55 degrees here at the shore in NJ – not typical weather for this early in the month. When the kids return to school it is usually hot as blazes. But not this year… My card today is more than just thinking of you; it’s recognizing that life is not always easy. I used the Prairie Grass stamp set from the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES – it’s available to customers now. It’s become a favorite for things peaceful, restful, reassuring.

Stampin' Up! Thoughtful Journey, & Prairie Grass

I cut 1″ strips of Thoughtful Journey 6×6 DSP (1 x 5 3/8) and added them to a Basic White background. Next I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink using the Prairie Grass stamp set. I took a length of Mossy Meadow & Gold trim, wrapped it around and tied a knot, securing it with a glue dot. I then added three Low Profile Sparkle Dtos under the sentiment. Finally, I added a single Adhesive-Backed Dragonfly. This completed front panel was added to a Mossy Meadow card base.

For the inside of the card, I stamped this grassy image four times across the bottom with Mossy Meadow ink. And yes, the stamp comes from Prairie Grass stamp set. I added three more of the Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies as they are very flat and so appropriate for this grassy scene. I adhered the Basic White panel to the inside of the card and voila – this card is ready to send.

Stampin' Up! Prairie Grass and Thoughtful Journey card & envelope

For the envelope… yet another panel of the Thoughtful Journey 6×6 was adhered to the flap & trimmed to fit. Again on the front, I stamped the same grassy image in Mossy Meadow ink from Prairie Grass stamp set to carry out the theme. This card will be sent today to a friend of mine who lives near the beach and diagnosed with ALS. Such an awful disease….

Tomorrow, Wednesday Sep 3, the Sep-Dec 2025 Mini Catalog will be open to ordering by customers – AND – there are some fabulous new ONLINE EXCLUSIVE products that can be ordered as well. If you do not have a demonstrator, I’d love to help you find your creative side. Click the image below to take you to my shop for purchases.
