Stampin’ Up! Artistically Inked

I’ve chosen a stamp set that has carried over from last year to create this sweet, but simple card today – Artistically Inked and the coordinating Artistic Dies. Let’s take a look-see.

Artistically Inked.1

The card base is Thick Very Vanilla card stock. Adhered to that is a panel of Very Vanilla run through the Stitched Greenery Die. This die cuts the paper but not all the way to making pieces as making a pattern. It is a wonderful background die & I use it a lot! I set this aside while doing the next steps…

  • Die cut the large flower from Artistic Dies in Very Vanilla card stock. Gently remove from the die, holding in as many of the cut pieces as possible. Turn it over and add tape to the back side in those areas you wish the pieces to remain. Do not overlap the tape as this will create lines during the next step. Turn the die cut piece face up.
  • With a Blending Brush (or 3) color the design: So Saffron for the largest flower; Petal Pink for the smaller flower; Pear Pizzazz & Soft Sea Foam for the various leaves. It’s OK if the colors overlap some!
  • Adhere to a Very Vanilla panel with dabs of liquid glue.
  • Slip under a length of Metallic Edge Cotton Ribbon in Silver, folding it over as shown, adhering with a glue dot.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Artistically Inked stamp set on a Very vanilla scrap with VersaMark , sprinkle with Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Punch with the Essential Tag Punch and trim bottom for appropriate length. Adhere with dimensionals.
  • Add this Very Vanilla piece to Pear Pizzazz card stock and attach to the card base with dimensionals
  • Add two Basic Pearls and the card front is complete!
Artistically Inked, inside

For the inside, I stamped the very precious rose in Petal Pink ink on a Very Vanilla panel. Of course the rose is from Artistically Inked stamp set :O) I then stamped two leaves, also from Artistically Inked, in Pear Pizzazz. I added two more of the Pearl Basic Jewels then attached this to the inside of the card. I did not add a sentiment… but plan to later even though the panel is already adhered in place. How would I do that? A couple of ways can accomplish this. But safest so as not to make a mistake :O) would be to stamp on another panel of Very Vanilla, fussy cut and adhere it in place. As the card is now, it could be a wedding card or a birthday card.

I wanted this card pretty much monochromatic. But if you wanted more color for the inside, this Very Vanilla panel could be adhered to a Pear Pizzazz piece then adhered to the inside of the card. Just an option.

Artistically Inked.3

For the envelope, I used the same treatment as the inside of the card for the envelope front: rose in Petal Pink ink and leaves this time, in Soft Sea Foam. I then stamped this same leaf all over the flap of the envelope with Soft Sea Foam ink.

Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds Wedding Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! It is always fun to see what others do with a sketch challenge ~ what would you create? I would love to see what you would do with the below challenge: share it with me, would you?

It’s close to that TGIF day and I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend. As for me, I head out today to attend a convention IN PERSON… which, due to the pandemic, we haven’t been able to do for two years! It seems forever since we have been together ~ and it has. I return Sat. late afternoon. So if I don’t respond to your request for something right away, it’s because I’m ‘conventioning’ and will get to you ASAP.

Below is the sketch challenge ~ and below that is the card I created for it. It’s a wedding card for a friends daughter who is getting married ~ and it’s already out the door :O).

Often times wedding cards are extremely feminine and frilly. For some reason, I thought of the groom and how, well, does he feel left out with all the frilliness ‘n stuff. This card is different, in that I mixed Designer Series Papers from two packs: stripes from Sun Prints 12 x 12 DSP and the floral from Hues of Happiness 12 x 12 DSP. Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the sentiment panel for a bit of glitter & glam. The ribbon is a two-in- one… meaning Pool Party Sheer Ribbon tied in a bow, then White Crinkle Seam Binding tied right onto it. And I love how it came together: feminine but not too fussy.

Happiness Abounds.1

Step by step:

  • Adhere panel of Sun Prints 12 x 12 DSP to the card front with liquid glue – or adhesive of choice.
  • Die cut with Stitched Rectangle Dies, the floral pattern from Hues of Happiness 12 x 12 DSP.
  • Cut a larger piece of card stock 1/8″ larger all around – this is Night of Navy. Adhere floral die cut panel to the Night of Navy with liquid glue or adhesive of choice. Put dimensionals on back of the panel and center it on card front
  • Tie Pool Party Sheer Ribbon into bow, then tie White Crinkle Ribbon onto it, making it a two-in-one bow :O) Add to the end of the panel with a glue dot
  • Stamp sentiment on a Basic White scrap in Night of Navy ink, trim ends as shown. Put dimensionals on back and adhere, overlapping bow. The sentiment is from Happiness Abounds stamp set
  • Add three Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a bit of glam – and bingo, the card front is complete!
Happiness Abounds.2

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Happiness Abounds stamp set in Night of Navy ink on a Basic White panel. I then stamped this sweet floral stamp in Night of Navy ink, colored it with Stampin’ Blends Pool Party and Color Lifter. For a final touch I added some Crystal Effects for a bit of highlighting. Hopefully you can see that in the photo below. (OOPS! I just looked in the 2022-2023 AC and Crystal Effects is no longer listed as a product SU! sells, aargh!) This Basic White panel was adhered to a piece of Night of Navy card stock, then adhered to the inside of the Pool Party card base. – And done!

Happiness Abounds.3

For the envelope, I added more of the Sun Prints 12 x 12 DSP to the flap & trimmed it to fit. For the front of the envelope, I used one of the marvelous dies in the Blossoming Happiness Dies that coordinates with the Happiness Abounds stamp set (buy it as a bundle for 10% off!)- and die cut one of the roses from the Hues of Happiness 12 x 12 DSP. These dies & the paper coordinate so well! There are several dies that can be used on the DSP – yay! SU! really knows how to pull things together :O) Oh, this rose was adhered with liquid glue to the envelope front then trimmed to fit the envelope.

Happiness Abounds.4

SU! Hand- Drawn Blooms and Banner Blooms Dies

Hi Everyone – it’s going to be another scorcher here on the East coast followed by rain this afternoon ~ a definite stay in the air conditioning kind of day. Our daughter lives not far and their ac is broken – a new ‘mother board’ had to be ordered. They, my friends, are miserable! And with all this isolation and stuff, they are uncomfortable coming here for the night. Doubt they slept very well last night 😞 On with the card – right?

In yesterday’s post, I shared the die cut and I decided to see what I could make of it. It isn’t my favorite, but I think it turned out well, and it’s already in the mail, so there you go…

Banner Blooms Dies
#1

And here are the ingredients to make this lovely…

  • Gorgeous Grape cs/ ink
  • Pear Pizzazz cs (extra leaves) and marker
  • Whisper White (banner & inside panel)
  • Playing with Patterns 6×6 (die cut)
  • embellishments ~ Pearl Basic jewels, Playing with Patterns Resin Dots
  • Wink of Stella
  • Hand-Drawn Blooms stamp set
  • BAnner Blooms Dies
  • Sunflower Dies
  • Thick Whisper White cs

And here’s the how to…

Die cut the bouquet using the Banner Blooms Dies and Playing with Patterns of 6×6. Add Wink of Stella to the very small daisy like flowers, then wherever else suits you. It’s easier to do this before adhering but you can certainly add more later. Adhere very loosely with liquid glue to the Gorgeous Grape card base ~ in the banner area and a couple of places in the upper portion.. Notice in the picture the bottom half of the bouquet is not adhered at all. Stamp the banner with Memento Black ink on Whisper White and die cut using the Banner Blooms Dies. You will need to trim the excess. I wanted the extra little ‘tufts’ at the ends of the banner as I liked them :). Use a bone folder to soften the paper to make it bend and curl a bit. Adhere double dimensionals in the center only and glue dots near the ends, but allow the ends to curl up.

Now’s the time to do all the ‘trimmings’ ~ I added the Bumblebee Playing with Patterns Resin Dots and lots of tiny pearls (Pearls Basic Jewels) to the smallest flowers. I stamped one of the daisies from the Hand-Drawn Blooms stamp set in Gorgeous Grape, die cut it with the Banner Blooms Dies and covered it in Wink of Stella. This moves the ink color around a bit. I added a dimensional to it and placed it on one of the flowers that had a similar shape. I then die cut a couple of leaves from the Sunflower Dies in Pear Pizzazz. They are a similar shape to the leaves in the bouquet and gave a nice accent. Adhere this panel to a Thick Whisper White card base using dimensionals and your card front is ready!.

The inside and the envelope…

Let me say – I love this little daisy! It is just cute, cute, cute… I stamped it in Gorgeous Grape several times across the bottom of the Whisper White panel. I then added stems and leaves with a Pear Pizzazz marker.  This was adhered to a panel of Gorgeous Grape with liquid glue then added to the inside of the card, again with liquid glue.

For the envelope I covered the flap in a remnant of the Playing with Patterns 6×6 paper and added a strip of Highland Heather, then I stamped the cute daisy, again with Gorgeous Grape.

And woohoo – your card is ready! As I said earlier, this is already in the mail and I used it as an anniversary card for a very special couple.

I hope you liked today’s card. Be well, stay safe.

SU! Hand Drawn Bloom stamp set and Banner Blooms Dies

Hi All – happy Wednesday! I hope you made through all the cards as part of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop… fun wasn’t it? Now for today’s inspiration… Hand Drawn Blooms and the matching Banner Bloom Dies – both new in the SU! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Here’s the card…

Hand Drawn Blooms stamp set
Banner Blooms Dies
#1

This reminds me so much of a country garden ~ I really, really like it! Here are the supplies I used…

  • lots of Blends: Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade light & dar, Daffodil Delight light and dark, Highland Heather light and dark and Bronze
  • Garden Green cs and ink
  • Memento Black ink
  • Daffodil Delight cs (for the banner)
  • Whisper White cs AND Whisper White Thick cs
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Hand Drawn
    Blooms stamp set
  • Banner Blooms Dies

And here’s the how to…

First of all, the floral bouquet is in two parts.. stamp the upper portion first (well, I did…) in Garden Green on a Whisper White panel, then stamp the bottom half. It’s a little fussy and took me practicing with a scrap but it worked. The Stamparatus is a big help with this since the top is fairly large and I stamped it a couple of times to get the shade of green I wanted and everything covered. Then the fun began with coloring the various flowers. These are such tiny flowers it doesn’t take much more than just a dot of the Blends tip for some of them.

Stamp the sentiment on a piece of Daffodil Delight with Memento Black ink, then die cut it with the Banner Blooms Dies. It will need trimming down to size as this is an ‘all in one die’! (There’s a picture later…I wanted the banner to be raised in the middle so once I did the die cut (from the Banner Blooms Dies), I doubled the dimensionals in the center and took my bone folder and gently rolled the paper. The banner tips curl up nicely. I also added a glue dot  just before the banner curls up at the end. Last but definitely not least, were the Rhinestone Basic Jewels. They added just the right sparkle to this card!

Adhere this card panel to a slightly larger Garden Green cs, put dimensionals on the back and adhere to a Thick Whisper White card base. Your card front is ready!

The inside…

So simple and fun… Die cut the stems/ leaves (all one die) in Garden Green cs and adhere with liquid glue to the Whisper White panel. Stamp the daisy in Memento Black in and color with Daffodil Delight Bends and the center with the Bronze. Die cut and adhere it with liquid glue. The smaller daisy is stamped right on the panel, with Memento Black ink and colored with Daffodil Delight. Adhere to a slightly larger Garden Green panel with liquid glue and then into the Thick Whisper White. Your card is complete!

The envelope was extra fun to do…

Hand Drawn Blooms stamp set
#3

Randomly stamp the poppy from the Hand drawn Blooms stamp set in Memento Black ink, both on the card front and the envelope flap. Color just the envelope front with both light and dark Poppy Parade Blends. TIP: When coloring an envelope, slip a large piece of scrap cs inside the envelope so the Blends do not bleed through :O) ask me how I know that!

Your card is ready to send to someone… This could easily be a birthday or new job or graduation card – your imagination is the limit. Fun right? Now I want to share with you the whole fun die… It will be used in a future post, maybe even tomorrow :O) Who knows?

Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Touches, Forever Fern and Forever Flourishing Dies

Hi Folks! Gosh, yesterday it was 74 and rainy, today is 58 and a bit cloudy but sun should come through. Quite a disparity still in weather temps. I’ll be working out in the front later this morning as we had to remove a tree a couple of years ago and the pachysandra got fried last year in the summer sun. Removing pachysandra is a job and a half! Plus the soil needs amending a bit as it’s very sandy and new plants are going in. I just may be out there a while…

So here’s today’s card… I love the soft colors used here and the fonts in the Forever Fern stamp set are just lovely

Tasteful Touches flower
Forever Flourishing Dies
#1

Here are all the goodies I used to make this beautiful card…

  • Petal Pink cs
  • Crumb Cake cs
  • Soft Sea Foam cs and ink
  • Whisper White cs
  • Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon 5/8″ white
  • Braided Linen Trim 3/16″
  • In Good Taste DSP
  • Ornate Floral 3D Embossing folder
  • Forever Fern stamp set
  • Forever Flourishing Dies:
  • For the flower… Tasteful Touches stamp set; Soft Suede ink, Wink of Stella and Dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blends

Here’s a photo of the flower created a few days ago and sitting on my desk just waiting 😏 Remember I used the flower on the right in yesterday’s post.

Tasteful Touches
#1

Here are the details for making this card…

  • Using the Forever Flourishing Dies, die cut sprig and spray in Soft Sea Foam cs and sponge dauber the edges to give them more dimension
  • Again using the Forever Flourishing Dies, cut the berry spray in Crumb Cake and “color” with Wink of Stella. This helps tie in the flower that is covered in Wink of Stella and gives it glimmer, sparkle and glam!
  • Cut a 1/2  x 4 strip of the In Good Taste DSP. Gosh there are some gorgeous patterns in this pack!
  • Petal Pink is cut 4 x 5 1/4 and is embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing folder. Spritz lightly with water prior to sending it through your embossing machine. This allows the paper to have a bit more ‘give and flexibility’ to take on the design of the folder. This is a must have folks – just sayin…

Putting it all together…

  • Adhere the DSP about 1 1/4″ from the bottom using liquid glue.
  • Cover this with a strip of the Polka Dot Tulle 5/8″ ribbon. Adhere in back with snail.
  • Wrap a piece of the Braided Linen Trim over this, centering, and adhere in back with tape.
  • Slip the larger foliage die cut between ribbon and DSP and adhere with liquid glue., leaving many of the leaves loose to curl for texture and dimension.
  • Adhere the Crumb Cake berries with a glue dot, then add the leaf swag over this adhering with a glue dot
  • Add the prepped flower with dimensionals.
  • Finally add the linen and Polka Dot Tulle bow with a glue dot.
  • Adhere this embossed panel to Petal Pink cs cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. Your card front is complete! Easy peasy…

For the inside…

Forever Fern stamp set
#2

  • Stamp the leaf and berry stamp from the Forever Fern stamp set with Soft Sea Foam. While it’s readily available, go ahead and stamp your envelope flap and front as well
  • Stamp the sentiment from the same set using Soft Suede.
  • Adhere to the inside of your card and voila – all done! Even your envelope is ready 😉

This would make a fabulous wedding or anniversary card! So what do you think? This stamp set – Forever Fern with matching dies, Forever Flourishing Dies, are must haves for this next year. Matter of fact, I just might wear them out from use!!! And Tasteful Touches is another equally beautiful set, They coordinate so well together. I love how Stampin’ Up! does that.

Stampin’ Up! Magnolia Lane Memories and More Card Pack

Today’s post is all about the fun Stampin’ Up! Magnolia Lane Memories and More Card Pack with the coordinating Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories and More Cards and Envelopes.. Do you hoard some of your card making products? Let’s say I used to but am getting better at actually making use of most everything. So why do I ask about hoarding? I have had this card pack for quite some time, used one or two then set it aside. I even made a fun “album” of sorts very early on. There were so many new products I think I got a bit overwhelmed. Yesterday I pulled out that card pack and went to ‘town’. I think this would make a lovely gift package as there are birthday, wedding, and congratulations cards made from this set. Enjoy.

These large specialty cards and envelopes are of a lighter weight paper than our regular cardstock, so you will notice I have used additional cardstock behind all the cards. I just felt it needed it and even more importantly, I liked the look. 😏 Here’s  what I used on various cards along with the Magnolia Lane Memories and More Card Pack … Notice nearly every card has aspects on dimensionals. I really like the layered look
