Wow! It’s Friday… Fall is definitely here in New Jersey. 39 degrees this AM and leaves are turning – and you know, falling. We have lots of trees – so you also know what that means – raking, raking and more raking. Well, it’s good for the body to move. :O)

I have a set of really pretty cards today, all made from the Calm & Bright Kit. I didn’t do alternatives for these cards – they are simply beautiful on their own – soft pinks & greens.

Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek of Swirled Designs for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! You may have come from the fabulous Tara or just hopped in right here… However you got here, welcome! We have a sketch challenge this week and I have chosen to work with a NEW November ONLINE EXC;LUSIVE soon to be released November 4 bundle… called Swirled Designs. The dies are delicate so I encourage you to adhere an Adhesive Sheet to whatever paper you want to use to adhere these detailed dies. They are gorgeous but as I said – delicate.

I began by stamping the small star images from the Swirled Designs stamp set with VersMark ink over most of the Lost Lagoon panel, then sprinkling it with WOW! Metallic Embossing Powder in Polished Silver. I heat set it with my SU! heat tool. I then used the 2 3/8″ circle punch to punch a circle from Basic White, stamped it with Lost Lagoon stamped off once. What that means… ink the stamp, stamp off once then stamp on the circle – do that each time to create the dotted image on the circle. Adhere the stamped circle to the embossed star background with dimensionals. Cut a piece of Silver Foil 3 7/8 x 5 1/8, back it with an Adhesive Sheet. Die cut the single large star & several of the small stars plus the larger floral image from this in the center of the Silver Foil paper using the coordinating Swirled Designs Dies. Attach stars as shown – large star in the center of the circle and remaining small stars to the the embossed Lost Lagoon panel to reflect the challenge. Adhere the embossed panel to the Silver Foil & add to the Pretty Peacock card base with adhesive.

For the inside… adhere the Silver Foil die cut floral image to a Basic White panel (3 3/4 x 5) then attach to a panel of Lost lagoon (3 7/8 x 5 1/8) then to the inside of the card. Done!

For the envelope… stamp the dots from the Swirled Designs stamp set in stamped off Lost Lagoon in k. (ink, stamp off on scrap, then stamp on envelope flap). Stamp the flower design from the Swirled Designs stamp set on the front of the envelope with full strength Lost Lagoon ink. This card is ready to send. No sentiment makes this card great for all occasions… just add your message – it could be Christmas, birthday, silver anniversary,New Years – you name it . And, it could be masculine or feminine 😀 This is really non-generic – and I love that! As I mentioned earlier, this bundle will be released November 4 as an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE. Good Tuesday morning. Do you participate in the Paper Pumpkin program – getting this fun box each month to create what’s inside? I do, and sometimes I make alternatives and sometimes I don’t. This months October Cozy Christmas is one of those I didn’t do alternatives, but I did dress up the envelopes and the inside of each card.

For this card… on the envelope – as you can see – I stamped this tree image from the Ornamental Christmas stamp set. Just as an FYI, this also comes with dies. For the inside, I layered a piece of Basic Beige, then added a stamped layer of Basic White. The stamp used is the same as the envelope – Ornamental Christmas.

For the 2nd set of cards in the October Paper Pumpkin, I stamped the envelopes with another of the stamps in Ornamental Christmas stamp set.

For the inside of the cards… in my box was an extra green card base so I used that for the background on two cards then a strip for the third card. For an inside sentiment I used the Christmas Word Collage in Basic White. I highlighted each with Garden Green ink and a Blending Brush. Here they are.

The same sentiment is stamped on all three of these envelopes and it comes from the stamp set Ornamental Christmas using Garden Green ink. On the inside I used sentiments from the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephmera Pack on a Basic White panel that had been adhered to a Crumb Cake piece slightly larger.

Stampin’ Up! Ornamental Christmas Cards

Good Morning Monday! Whew – the start of another week in October… Where has the month gone? For me, it has flown by – how about for you? I have a pretty set of cards for you today, all the same layout, same dies, same ribbon, same embellishments, just different colors in the Season of Elegance SDSP. I simply couldn’t quit making these. I was inspired by another demonstrator, Julie Gilson.

Card 1 is in Pretty Peacock. Card 2 is in Basic Beige. Card 3 is in Cherry Cobbler. All three use the same Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder and similar layers.

Card 4 uses a brand new Beautiful Pattern embossing folder, coming in the November ONLINE EXCLUSIVE release – available Nov 4. It also has similar layers and comes in Mossy Meadow.

For sentiments on the card fronts I used the Christmas Words Collage bundle die cut from Gold Foil and also Basic White (for the word peace). This set embosses the words & die cuts at the same time, so it’s quite easy to have a bunch words at the ready 😀

Here are the insides of each of those cards – a simple strip of the Season of Elegance DSP added to the bottom of the inside panel.

You will notice some of these are on card bases 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2 while others are on card bases of 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. It honestly didn’t matter either way, so if I had that already cut, that’s what I used. Super fun cards to make multiples of while also making them unique in color & words.

Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek Brushed with Beauty products in an Accordion Fold

Good morning – it’s Saturday & cool in this part of New Jersey – 40 degrees! Blanket time and possibly time to bring in firewood for a fire tonight. We’ll see. I have two cards for you today, using products from the November ONLINE EXCLUSIVE release. As a Demonstrator, I am privileged to be able to preorder products before they become available to the public. This is a beautiful suite of two bundles, DSP & Vellum, embellishments and an embossing folder. For today’s cards I did not use the embossing folder. I have two cards to share; one in landscape & one in portrait.

Aren’t these papers stunning – Brushed with Beauty DSP. Love, love. On the landscape card are die cuts in vellum, using the Petals of Beauty Dies. The sentiment & banner die cut use items from the two bundles: Petals of Beauty and Words of Beauty. The bow is Old Olive Linen Thread – a September ONLINE EXCLUSIVE that comes in a two pack – Early Espresso is the other color of Linen Thread in the duo pack. The portrait card again shows die cuts, this time in card stock. I love this flower with the delicate edge! I stamped the flower image twice in Basic Beige ink, layered them then added the delicate die cut in Basic White. A single Pearls of Beauty embellishment is in the flower center. The ribbon is Braided Trim from the Floral Charm Suite (July ONLINE EXCLUSIVES) And here’s the inside of each.

In the landscape card above I added a Branching Out die cut, the smallest, and no stamping. (It is available in the September to December 2025 Mini Catalog) The inside looks a bit plain, so I’m going to add something for sure. On the portrait card, I stamped the two step floral image on Basic White, using Petal Pink & Calypso Coral inks, then die cut it with the Petals of Beauty Dies. This comes from the Petals of Beauty stamp set & coordinating dies in the suite of products. The leaf image is die cut from Mossy Meadow. I did add the Pearls of Beauty embellishment to the flower center. It’s fairly flat & doesn’t add a lot of bulk. The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink & comes from Words of Beauty stamp set – part of the suite of products. Below is a top down view of each of the cards.

Time for instructions in how to make this fun fold accordion design.

Basic Directions for this Accordion Fun Fold:

cut the card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and score @ 5 1/2
cut the DSP 4 x 12 & score @ 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9
adhere one end of the DSP to the inside of the card base with equal borders on three sides
adhere opposite end in the same fashion
for the front…
- cut a card stock panel in a coordinating color 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
  - cut a DSP layer 4 x 5 1/4 & adhere to coordinating card stock
    - attach these two with dimensionals to the card front
    - decorate as desired

Stampin’ Up! Irresistible Blooms

Good Saturday! I have a beautiful new bundle I worked with – an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE that I tried resisting, and couldn’t. 😀 It is stunning! It is called – of all things – Irresistible Blooms Suite and what comes in the suite is: stamp set, coordinating dies, gorgeous 6×6 DSP and Loose Frosted Dots in three colors. An older color is coming back – Lost Lagoon – and that shows in these papers. Another cool thing is the dies die cut the two sizes of flowers in the DSP as well as three leaf shapes. I’ve created a very feminine card with this suite. Let’s take a peek.

See that stunning flower? It’s die cut from one of the papers! And see the leaves under the flower and under the sentiment? Those are also die cut from the DSP. And isn’t that wreath fun? It’s one of the dies as well. The DSP under it all is one of the papers in the pack. It has these cute little bubbles same as the wreath. And see the Loose Frosted Dots? The Petal Pink ones are on the banner while the Soft Seafoam are in the wreath – and notice, three sizes too. They adhere with a tiny dot of adhesive. The sentiment is from the stamp set, stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink , a coordinating color of the DSP, and die cut with the smallest of the Deckled Rectangle Dies. The bow is Sating Edge Ribbon with Gold and added with a glue dot. I don’t know if you can see it in the photo, but I added Shimmery Crystal Effects to the flower on several of the white sections.

The inside of the card is every bit as feminine: more of the DSP on the bottom of the white panel, a smaller die cut flower from the paper, three small leaves die cut as well. The Basic White panel overlays a Flirty Flamingo panel, same as the front, and adhered to the Thick Basic White card base.

The DSP on the envelope flap is the back side of the DSP on the card front. I used the entire 6×6 sheet on this card! I was hoping you could see the Crystal Effects, but it doesn’t really show. Oh well… This suite of products will be available on March 1 and I encourage you get it! You will not regret the purchase. Stampin’ Up! is promoting an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE line of products that will not be included in any catalog, that will only be available as an ONLINE product. This is their premier showing of the first suite. March 1st I’ll be able to share more products that you will be able to order right then. It’s kind of exciting, this new idea.

Stampin’ UP! Scenic Garden, Sale-a-bration HOST Set

I finally pulled out my Scenic Garden stamp set ~ it’s a Sale-a-bration HOST set that I had fun playing. This particular stamp is right up my ally – I’m a gardener, I keep playing in the dirt. Of course, here in the Northeast, it’s not quite time yet to do much in the garden, but bulbs are beginning to pop out of the ground. So here’s my card…

Love these pots stacked upon one another! Wish I were better at coloring them. So here’s how I did this… I stamped this in Memento ink on a Basic White piece then colored it with Stampin’ Blends: Cajun Craze for the pots and a bit of Color Lifter to create a highlight; Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, a bit of Starry Sky & Orchid Oasis. Once colored I die cut the desired size with the third smallest of the Deckled Rectangle Dies. Then I created a mask for the bottom of the pots… with Stampin’ Up! Masking Paper: stamp on the Masking Paper, cut out the image, remove the backing & place it over the stamped image. It looked like this…

The white part on the bottom pot is the mask – pretty cool, huh? I wanted to have the pots look as though they were sitting on rocks. I laid this small white panel on another Basic White that would go on the card front; stamped the stones in Memento ink then colored the stones with Gray Granite Blends.. I adhered a Basic Black panel to the small front panel then used my small Blending Brush & Gray Granite ink to add color around the stones, as if there was a path. I removed the mask & adhered this panel in place. In retrospect I should have run the larger piece through a Brick Embossing Folder – I think that would make a very cool backdrop. But I didn’t… and the white panel needed something. So butterflies – but not very big ones. I pulled out my Brilliant Wings Dies and found these two which seem the perfect size. I die cut these from 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper in Orchid Oasis. Then I sprinkled in a few Brushed Metallic Butterflies and liked the combination. The sentiment comes from Charming Sentiments stamp set and it’s stamped in Memento ink on a scrap, backed with Basic Black and adhered to the card front. The Basic White panel is adhered to Basic Black then to Daffodil Delight, put on dimensionals and attached to the Thick Basic White card base.

For the inside I stamped these wild flowers in Memento ink then colored with Orchid Oasis & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends and attached the panel to the inside of the card.

For the envelope, I stamped the same flowers as the inside, but colored them in Daffodil Delight Blends, leaves are Old Olive. I’m not real happy with this card… guess I’ll need to do it again at some point, it’s just too plain. AARGH. Oh well. I do love the stamps.

Stampin’ Up! Dandy Designs Box for Note Cards

Hello again.. as promised I have the easy box for the super cute Playing In The Rain Note Cards & Envelopes shared these past couple of days. It is made with Dandy Designs 12×12 DSP that is FREE with a $100 order during this time of Sale-a-bration (Jan to end of Feb 2023). I reinforced the box with the white backing that comes with DSP. It’s perfect for a project like this!

As you can see I’ve tied it closed with a wonderful Metallic Mesh Ribbon, then tied the banner on with the Simply Elegant Trim in silver. Here’s what the box looks like on the inside with the reinforcement panels in place.

How to:

Begin by cutting a panel 9 1/2 x 12 and score on the long side @ 3 1/2, 5 1/2 9 1/2 & 11
Turn and score on short side @ 2″ & 7 1/2″
Burnish all score lines and trim as shown in next photo… trim just to 2″ score line on each side, remembering the flap is the smallest score (11) That first flap is also

The top of the photo shows the front flap and the two trimmed flaps that are part of the top. Notice that I rounded the flap ends.
The next ‘flaps’ I am going to number as 2, 3. & 4 – and they relate to both sides
Fold in flaps 3 and put adhesive on both flaps 2 as they will be the sides and will attach to flaps 4 when folded.
Fold, keeping the # 3 flaps loose and on the inside.
Flaps #3 are now adhered to the sides – and done! However, I chose to add panels of the white boards from DSP packaging.
- Cut pieces: sides ~ 2 x 3 1/2 (cut 2) and adhere to inside sides; front & back ~ 5 3/8 x 3 1/2 (cut 2) and adhere to insides front & back; and finally the bottom ~ 2 x 5 3/8 (cut 2 and adhere together) and adhere to bottom.

The card front is Rain or Shine DSP covering the entire front of the card. I stamped the clouds using Smoky Slate ink and the Playing in the Rain stamp set, then die cut the clouds with the Playing in the Rain Dies. They are added to the card with dimensionals. The cute turtle is fussy cut from the Rain or Shine DSP and added with liquid glue. The banner is stamped in Smoky Slate ink with the Playing in the Rain stamp set and trimmed with the Banners Pick a punch then a strip of Old Olive added to the back with Stampin’ Seal then attached to the card with dimensionals. The inside of the card has an adorable flower bunch die cut from the Rain or Shine DSP with Stylish Shapes Dies and added with liquid glue. The envelope is stamped in Smoky Slate ink with Playing in the Rain stamp set and colored with Daffodil Delight & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.
