I’ve chosen to use butterflies on my card today, using the die from Designer Tags Dies and the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper. I’ve also used Hues of Happiness DSP with lots of wonderful colors to bring it all together. And layers… a piece of Basic White run through the Stripes 3D embossing folder (from Stripes & Splashes 3D set) and a strip of scallops from the Penned Flowers Dies and a leafy spray from the Dainty Delight Dies (trimmed to use a long piece on top and the shorter end at the bottom under the scallop… and lets not forget the Stylish Shapes Dies for the circles. So I pulled from a lot of different places and love the finished look.

For embellishment I used Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems in Gorgeous Grape. One of the wonderful things about nature is color – lots of it and lots of shades of one color or another. You can see that in the Hues of Happiness DSP.The front sentiment comes from Happiness Abounds stamp set that coordinates with the DSP. It’s a general greeting and this card could easily be used for birthday, to a sympathy card. I fussy cut the sentiment by the way, after stamping it in Orchid Oasis ink.

For the inside, really simple… a 1/2″ strip of the same Hues of Happiness DSP adhered near the bottom.

Goodness, this photo is ever so dark! Again, I kept the envelope quite simple with a strip of Hues of Happiness DSP on the flap trimmed to fit.

Good Tuesday morning and HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Appreciate your loved ones, all of them. Send them a note or give them a call, whatever works for you. It’s never too late to let folks know you care about them. Thank you for joining me today – remember, I care about you! And welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop Group!

Today’s card plays along with the challenge for this week – a birthday card. And it’s a Diamond Flip card that’s fun to do, and did I say easy?

Gosh, the photo is a bit dark… but isn’t this a sweet card? Here’s a photo of it unfolded showing the outside.

And here’s one of it folded showing the inside. Notice the diamond on the left is ‘flipped’, or folded.

And one more photo… this one shows the front again, with the diamond fold to the inside. This way you clearly see how it’s all put together.

Directions:

Cut card base (here I used Granny Apple Green) 4 1/4 x 11 and score at 2 1/8 & 5 1/2
On the 2 1/8 end, mark the center point, on the short side which happens to be 2 1/8.
Fold card in half – on the 5 1/2 score line
Cut from the 2 1/8 score line to the point mark on a diagonal, going through both layers.
Now do the other cut from 2 1/8 score line to point. By cutting both ends at the same time, this makes the ends exactly the same!
Cut a 3″ square, also from Granny Apple Green, and adhere to the 2 1/8 end, adhering just to score line. This allows that end to be flexible.And this is the end to be decorated.
- Add a 2 7/8″ square, this time in a coordinating color or Basic White. I chose Textured Shimmer Paper in Balmy Blue
- Stamp the floral image from True Beauty stamp set in Blushing Bride ink, then die cut with coordinating die from Organic Beauty Dies.
- Stamp the leaves in Granny Apple Green ink using True Beauty stamp set. Die cut with coordinating die using Organic Beauty Dies
- Adhere the floral image with dimensionals to the now diamond. Slip the leaves under this a bit and adhere with liquid glue.
- Cut a banner 1/2 x 3 1/4 and stamp with sentiment from Sentimental Park stamp set, in Merry Merlot ink. Slip banner just under flower and adhere with liquid glue.
- Add bow ribbon with glue dot: Twill Ribbon Combo Pack in Old Olive
- Add Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Petal Pink (Jan-Apr Mini Catalog)
- Cover floral image with Wink of Stella
Add Balmy Blue panel 3 1/4 x 4 1/8 to card front
Add Awash In Beauty DSP over Balmy Blue, 3 1/8 x 4 1/8

For the inside

Add a 3 1/8 x 4 panel of the Awash in Beauty DSP to the panel on left
Stamp the sentiment using Sentimental Park stamp set and Merry Merlot ink on the Basic White panel (3 1/8 x 4)
Stamp the flower in Blushing Bride ink using the True Beauty stamp set, cover in Wink of Stella then add more Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Petal Pink
Cut a 2 7/8 square from Awash in Beauty DSP, cut in half creating two triangles. Adhere to each inside end

This card fits perfectly in a regular size envelope and I forgot to take a photo! However… here’s what I did… Cut another piece of Awash in Beauty DSP 2 1/4 x 6, add to envelope flap & trim to fit. Stamp a floral image from True Beauty stamp set in Blushing Bride, adding a bit of Merry Merlot to the center with your finger or a sponge dauber, then stamp on front of envelope. Cover with Wink of Stella.

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop Color Challenge

So, I have to laugh at myself & share it with you… I made a card for this blog hop, but when I went to do all the necessary ‘work’ of plugging in the challenge, I realized I made the card for NEXT WEEKS blog hop 😀 How funny is that! So I pulled out a card I hadn’t posted yet and here we go. It’s one we are working on in card class today.

Stampin' Up! P;laying In The Rain hop 2/9

This card is made with the Playing in the Rain stamp set and the Picture This Dies + Rain or Shine DSP. It was super fun to make as the Playing In The Rain stamp set is full of cuteness.

Die cut the Rain or Shine DSP with the Picture This Dies. DSP is 4 x 5 1/4
Place this over a Basic White panel 1/8″ smaller & trace lightly the various circles. in pencil
Decide where & what images you want to use from the Playing In The Rain stamp set then stamp with Memento ink in the various circles. It’s ok to go outside the circle but use a post it note to cover a circle if you think it would stamp in it. see photo

Color images as desired. I used Stampin’ Blends Mango Melody, Cajun Craze & Old Olive for the flowers/ leaves; I used Flirty Flamingo for the rabbit and Old Olive, Mango Melody and Cajun Craze on the turtle image. I also die cut a bow tie in Basic Black using one of the balloon bow dies. 👍😀
Stamp the sentiment from Playing In The Rain in Smoky Slate ink
Erase any remaining pencil marks.
Now lay the die cut Rain or Shine DSP over this panel & adhere in place.
Put dimensionals on the back and adhere to a Smoky Slate A2 card base.
Add the loose Daisy Assortment to the sentiment – and the card front is done!

For the inside…

Stamp the fox, puddles and sentiment in Memento ink
Stamp the raindrops in Smoky Slate ink
Color the fox, umbrella and puddles with Stampin’ Blends: Cajun Craze for the umbrella, Mango Melody for the rain hat & coat, Smoky Slate for the fox and puddles
Add to inside of card & voila!

For the envelope… More Rain or Shine DSP on the flap trimmed to fit; and a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend colored umbrella on the front. The umbrella is stamped in Memento ink & comes from Playing in The Rain Stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Country Bouquet Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

We have a theme challenge for today’s hop – love. I don’t tend to be a big Valentine sender/ giver, but I really like this Country Bouquet Bundle. I’ve taken a bit of a modern approach without DSP.

Silver heat embossing, a bit of scoring and some gorgeous Simply Elegant Trim in silver highlight this card. And of course, the heart uses the Country Bouquet Punch from the Country Bouquet Bundle. The words and hearts are from the Country Bouquet stamp set.

The ‘how to’:

Begin with a card base of Thick Basic White scored in half. This can work as 8 1/2 x 5 1/2scored at 4 1/4 or 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
Using the Scoring Tool and the back side of a Basic White panel, create five score lines. Why the back side? Scoring creates an indentation and I wanted the scoring to be raised. After scoring, turn card stock over & bingo!
On a piece of Basic White, rub the piece with the embossing buddy to remove finger prints or anything that would cause the embossing powder to attach itself; stamp the hearts from Country Bouquet stamp set with VersaMark ink; sprinkle with silver embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Once cool, punch with the Country Bouquet Punch and set both hearts aside.
Determine where on the card front panel the large heart will be placed, rub entire right side of card with the embossing buddy. Stamp the two open hearts from the Country Bouquet stamp set with VersaMark ink, then the words ‘for you’. Sprinkle both with silver embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.
Add large heart with dimensionals.
Add silver bow using the Simply Elegant Trim and adhering with a scrunched glue dot.
Add three Pearl Basic Jewels for additional elegance.
Add this panel to a Silver Foil Specialty Paper panel slightly larger, then add to card front. Done!

For the inside, I added a length of Silver Foil Specialty paper to the left side with liquid glue, cleaned the area to be stamped with the embossing buddy, inked the sentiment with VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with silver embossing powder and heat set. The smaller heart that was stamped & punched at the same time as the larger heart was added with liquid glue. This panel was added to the inside of the card and all done.

For the envelope, I again used the embossing buddy to clean an area for the enclosed hearts from the Country Bouquet stamp set; stamped them with VersaMark ink and sprinkled with the silver embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. For the envelope flap, I wanted a soft pink so added a piece of the Dainty Flowers DSP (FREE with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration!)

Stampin Up! Fancy Flora Sympathy for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the weekly Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop… and we have a sketch challenge today.

You may have come from the fabulous Tara or you may have jumped right in here… however you arrived, welcome! You will find some mighty fine creations today, so make the rounds and enjoy.

Fun sketch and pretty easy to follow. My card base is Thick Basic White with a layer of Sahara Sand angled ‘catywompas’. The top layer is the Fancy Flora 6×6 DSP, also angled. I stamped the sentiment using Soft Suede ink and the Two-Tone Flora stamp set on a Basic White piece. This was die cut with the sentiment die from Ginkgo Branch Dies. I love the detail on this die! A length of Grosgrain Ribbon in Pool Party was folded and added with Stampin’ Seal+ then dimensionals were added to the back of the sentiment & attached to the card front. Three Glossy Dots Assortment in Pool Party were attached to the sentiment.

For the inside… the flowers were stamped in Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen using the Two-Tone Flora stamp set. I used a Soft Suede Marker to add some swirls. Stampin’ Up! Country Floral Suite for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome, welcome! Such an exciting time with new SU! products to create and share. I’ve chosen to use products from the Country Floral Lane Suite to meet the color challenge.

And… drum roll… here’s my card:

Stampin' Up! Country Floral Lane Suite.hop.1

I’ve used all new products in the Country Floral Lane Suite – and they are so F-U-N! I didn’t want a Valentine’s card, but I DID want hearts & friendship & bicycles. The items in this suite of products include: County Bouquet Bundle (includes punch), Real Red and Burlap Ribbon pack, Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins (Gold, Petal Pink & Balmy Blue – I used all 3!), Country Gingham 6×6 DSP and Country Floral Lane 12×12 DSP. What an awesome combination of products. I love the plaid of the Country Gingham 6×6 DSP,; love the fact the punch is not a quite a traditional shape; love the ribbon pack as well ~ what’s not to love about this suite?! The hearts along the Real Red Ribbon are on dimensionals; then sequins added to the DSP. The linen thread was added with a glue dot and really add a fun flare to this card (at least to me it does!)

For the inside… I adhered a strip of the Country Floral Lane 12×12 DSP to the edge of a Basic White panel, then stamped the sentiment from Country Bouquet stamp set in Sweet Sorbet ink, then added the punched hearts & leaves using the Country Bouquet Punch along with the Country Gingham 6×6 DSP. This panel was adhered to the inside of the card and – done!

The envelope was easy peasy… more of the Country Floral 12×12 DSP to the envelope flap and stamped hearts in Sweet Sorbet ink using the Country Bouquet stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Sneaky Peek Desert Details Bundle for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to a Tuesday hop with Amy’s Krew! The theme is ‘celebrate’ and we can interpret that however…,I’ve created what I consider a masculine card with this delightfully fun Desert Details Bundle available in the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog, so Jan 5! I can’t believe I’m writing 2023 on stuff – ‘cuz I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!

The Desert Details Bundle is very Aztec’y’, different & delightful (‘cuz it is different). I’ve used Designer Series Papers from the suite of products and an embellishment from the suite as well: Delicate Desert 12×12 DSP & Dry-Brushed Metallic Specialty DSP (also 12×12); Gold Faceted Adhesive-Backed Sequins .

Here ya go – now you can see the inner DSP a bit better. Look at that wonderful detail! The colors in the various papers of this particular DSP are Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Petal Pink, Gray Granite & Cajun Craze. The polka dot in the background is one of the papers, as is the shiny (this is the Dry-Brushed Specialty DSP!) AND the center paper as well (Delicate Desert DSP). Aren’t they F-U-N? And you see I added a copper trim. And those wonderful embellishments are Gold Faceted Adhesive-Backed Sequins. Here’s what I created on the inside.

Here you can see two of the very decorative long stamps – stamped in Gray Granite. The sentiment is also part of the Desert Details stamp set and is stamped in Soft Succulent. The very thin strips were remnants from the copper die cut on the front and I had to use them. Unfortunately the more detailed strip isn’t on straight, but can see how very cool it is.

For the envelope I stamped this wonderful detail stamp in Gray Granite near the edge of the envelope, then added more of the Delicate Desert DSP to the flap. This is just a wonderful masculine card. I love the layers of it and all the detail, yet it can so easily be sent to a man. Let’s take a quick peek at the bundle and a closer look at the DSP used.

Time is quickly nearing Christmas – how many days? I’m not going to count, it’s too scary! We have our tree up & decorated and I finally found the tree skirt :O) I put it away in a different place last year but couldn’t remember just where that was :O( We don’t usually put our tree up quite so early (it’s fresh cut) but hubby is having knee replacement surgery next week and everything will go on hold for a bit. I’m hoping to continue posting regularly but we’ll see. My goal is to prep ahead so I can give him all the time necessary, but … there’s always a but.

Today’s card uses two main stamp bundles: both the Seasoned Chic with Chic Dies and Christmas Banners with Christmas Banners Dies.

Stampin' Up! Season of Chic.Blog Hop 12/8.1

The card base is a typical A2 tent card on it’s side with Evening Evergreen. I’ve layered a panel of Textured Chic 12 x 12 DSP on Basic White and adhered it to the card front, leaving a border both top & bottom. Next I used the splendid Chic Dies to die cut snowflakes from Basic White and Soft Succulentcard stocks. Then I stamped the banner on Basic White with Soft Succulent ink and the Christmas Banners stamp set. The words on the banner are also Soft Succulent ink and come from the Christmas Banner stamp set. I attached the banner to the card front with dimensionals then added the snowflakes with liquid glue, glue dots or dimensionals.nFor a bit of extra glam and to bring in another color, I used the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels and love the subtle contrast!

Stampin' Up! Season of Chic.Blog Hop 12/8.2

For the inside, snowflakes from the Season of Chic stamp set stamped randomly in Soft succulent ink. The sentiment comes from the Season of Chic stamp set and is in Evening Evergreen ink. All this on a Basic White panel then secured into the inside of the card.

For the envelope, a coordinating panel of the Textured Chic DSP for the flap and a few more snowflakes from Season of Chic stamp set in Soft Succulent ink on the front – and done! This card has a real elegance and simplicity at the same time: soft colors and not too fussy. This would an easy card to replicate if necessary.

Stampin’ Up! Hope & Peace + DSP for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the hop! We have a sketch challenge today that has all kinds of possibilities. I hope you too will find the hop inspiring and want to join our fun.

Stampin' Up! Hope & Peace + DSP, Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop 11/10

My card pretty much follows the sketch, don’t you think? This particular piece of DSP is from Painted Christmas DSP and I love the softness of this background. I layered this panel on a Basic White piece and adhered it to the Garden Green card base with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink using the Hope & Peace stamp set from the Jul-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog. It was stamped on Basic White and die cut it with the Stylish Shapes Dies. I had another scrap of the Painted Christmas DSP and cut it to 3/4″ x 2 12. I put this in place on the card front then added the stamped circle die cut over it using dimensionals. For a bit of added color and glam I added the Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins. All the half dimensionals used on the back of the circle hold both the circle & the strip in place 😏

Stampin' Up! Hope & Peace + Merriest Moments.2

For the inside… I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink on the Basic White inside panel. I pulled out the Merriest Moments stamp set which is a carry-over and stamped the holly leaves in Garden Green ink.I added more of the Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins in Sweet Sorbet and really like the added touch.

For the envelope, more of the same Painted Christmas DSP on the envelope flap. For the front of the envelope I stamped the holly leaves from Merriest Moments stamp set in Garden Green ink, then stamped the berries from the same stamp set in Sweet Sorbet ink ~ and the card/ envelope was done!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

Welcome! Today’s hop challenge is to create something for the holidays. You will see quite a variety today so I hope you make the rounds of all participants.

My card for today is different for me and I can’t decide… well, you will have to see for yourself. I began with Crumb Cake card stock for an A2 size card. I die cut two circles with the Stylish Shapes Dies, one using the Tea Boutique 6×6 DSP ‘cuz it looks like snowflakes to me! The other is in vellum using the Lovely Layers Vellum run through the Wintry 3D embossing folder after being die cut, using the snowflake folder. You remember this is a two folder item, right? The other folder has pine needle branches which I also love.

The background circle is in Sweet Sorbet and I put dimensionals on the back to adhere to the card front. Vellum, because it shows any adhesive, is attached with glue dots behind the added sequins 😁 The sequins are Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels. The way I did that was to attach the sequins, then add the glue dots to adhere it to the other circle. The tree comes from the Happy Forest Dies. Trees are one of my favorite dies – and this is like a ‘Charlie Brown’ tree to me. I die cut three of these from Thick Basic White card stock and adhered them together for strength and depth. I cut mini dimensionals to use behind the trunk of the tree and a bit of liquid glue for the part that attaches to the vellum circle. I added an additional cut mini dimensional to the back of the vellum to support the top of the tree so it’s pretty solid.

The sentiment is from the Hope & Peace stamp set and is stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink on a Basic White panel die cut with the Stylish Shapes banner die. I enlarged it a bit to fit the sentiment. This too was added with dimensionals behind it ~ and the card front was done.

For the inside… another of the sentiments from Hope & Peace stamp set stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink on the Basic White panel. This was adhered with liquid glue to the inside of the card.

The envelope got more of the Sweet Sorbet Tea Boutique 6×6 DSP panel adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit. Now… time to visit the others on the hop. You may click the next or previous buttons if you started here or click on a name to take you elsewhere. Enjoy the hop!
