Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Sympathy

How’s everybody? Are you feeling as though things are getting a wee bit back? Maybe not so scary but still cautious and careful? Well, I do. Maybe it’s because it’s Spring and so much new life in nature, but somehow I feel more secure. Oh yes, still wearing a mask, still not going out much, still washing hands all the time, but I have a very positive feeling. And I’m grateful… about all kinds of things. What do you think about making a grateful list? Be detailed, name exactly what it is or who it is. Ok – don’t know why I got off on a kick like that, but no apologies for it. There are some good things that have come out of Covid. Yes, some not so good as well, but my focus is on the good. So – happy Friday!

Despite being grateful, we still have loss. Today’s card is one of sympathy and it’s made by a canopy of trees. Yes, this is a NEW 2021-2022 bundle called Inspired Thoughts that includes the Inspiring Canopy Dies. Let’s take a look at the card.

Inspired Thoughts Sympathy – #1

I wanted this to be spring trees in bloom – so imagine that, would you? And that’s a flowering shrub by the sentiment. Imagination is a wonderful thing, isn’t it. I created a bit of sky by using my Blending Brushes on the Basic White panel. I first used Balmy Blue ink, then I moved to Misty Moonlight and that gave me the effect I wanted. These trees are all one die and I die cut them in Soft Suede card stock.. And the leaves/ flowers on the trees are four different dies and I cut several of them. They are from Beauty of the Earth DSP. I’ve left open branches cuz when I look at the trees around us, there are several that have no leaves or flowers. And that’s the way these trees are.

One of the neat aspects of this die set is the trees are connected by a ‘rolling’ ground and included in the set is a curvy die. That is what has created this wonderful rolling green landscape. I used Granny Apple Green card stock to cut two panels. They actually cover the connecting ‘ground’ of the trees cuz that was Soft Suede and I wanted a spring grass – bright and new. Everything is adhered to the card base with liquid glue – I just didn’t flatten the canopy.

The sympathy banner wording is from the stamp set Inspired Thoughts and is stamped on a Basic White panel with Soft Suede ink. I die cut the banner with a Stitched Rectangle Die. This was adhered with dimernsionals at the top of the banner and a dab of liquid glue along the bottom. I added sever Champagne Rhinestones to make it look as though the flowers were being blown off by the wind – and yes, for a bit of glam as well :). This panel was attached to a slightly larger piece of Mossy Meadow card stock with liquid glue. I put dimensionals on the back and attached it to a Thick Basic White card base.

Inspired Thoughts Sympathy, inside – #2

For the inside, I used my Blending Brush again and lightly covered the Basic White panel with just Misty Moonlight ink this time. I stamped the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stamp set in Soft Suede ink. This panel was adhered to Mossy Meadow, then to the inside of the card with liquid glue. And the card was done!

Inspired Thoughts Sympathy – #3

For the envelope i used a stamp set called Etched In Nature. Unfortunately there have been some difficulties with this set and it will not be sold, even though it is in the new catalog. I should not have used it. 😦 There are some other beautiful butterfly stamps – Positive Thoughts is one of them. I used butterflies as they are a symbol of new life, a rebirth. And when we die, there is a rebirth of our souls in another place. That’s what the butterfly signifies for me. It was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.

Stampin’ Up! Elegantly Said Sympathy

Sympathy cards are never easy… most of the time we know the folks pretty well and that makes it even more difficult. And that’s the case for this card. It’s going to someone with whom I have a long history, a caring relationship. I wanted something rather special and I think this card fits that. It’s made with a NEW stamp set (imagine that!) available to customers May 4 ~ and it’s called Elegantly Said and it come with the Elegant Tag Punch. If you look on page 68 in the new catalog, you will find a card waaay similar, different color and elements but same. I want to give credit as it is not my own creation.

Elegantly Said Sympathy – #1

It’s made with one of the new In Colors, Evening Evergreen as the card base. I then took another panel and stamped two of the stamps, covering the panel, using Evening Evergreen ink. Tone on tone is really one of my favorite. I then inked the large scrolly stamp in VersaMark ink and stamped in several places. I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it. I took a panel of Vellum and adhered it to the card front with Seal + only where the tag will be set. I then wrapped a length of Open Weave 3/8″ Ribbon in Soft Succulent to the center of the Vellum, securing it in back and again where the tag will be. I used the Elegant Tag Punch to create a piece out of Soft Succulent card stock – yep – new In Color. I stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink using the Inspired Thoughts stamp set (yep, NEW!) I tied a bow with the same Open Weave 3/8″ Ribbon and adhered it with a glue dot. I added five Genial Gems for more elegance, put dimensionals on the back of the tag and attached it to the stamped card. I put dimensionals on the back of the stamped card and adhered it to the card base and the front was done.

Elegantly Said Sympathy, inside – #2

For the inside, I stamped the beautiful flower from the Elegantly Said stamp set in stomped off once Evening Evergreen ink on a panel of Basic White card stock. I then stamped the sentiment using Inspired Thoughts stamp set and Evening Evergreen full strength. I adhered this to the inside and the card was complete.

Elegantly Said Sympathy – #3

For the envelope I stamped the same flower used on the inside of the card but full strength for the envelope flap and the front of the envelope. Voila! Ready to send today… It’s funny, odd, I didn’t even look in my stash to see if I had a sympathy card. I just knew I wanted to make something. It’s helps in the healing I think.

OK – so you know most of these products will be available for purchase to customers May 4 – all part of the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. Stampin’ Up! Corner Bouquet Sympathy

Today’s card is made with Sale-a-bration products, which begins Jan 5, 2021. And that, my friends is not far off. Yep, hard to believe, it is right around the corner.

Corner Bouquet Sympathy #1

Isn’t it pretty? I don’t use Blackberry Bliss card stock very often but with this Oh So Ombre 6×6 DSP, it really is quite nice. The stamps are from the Corner Bouquet stamp set, and is FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration. The Oh So Ombre 6×6 DSP is also FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration.

Stampin’ Up! has changed (for the better BTW) the length of Sale-a-bration to two months twice a year, the first beginning Jan-Feb of 2021. It coincides with the release of the Jan – Jun Mini Catalog Jan 5. I’m sharing three of those free products today to get you excited about the new catalog. Let’s get to the card.

Corner Bouquet Sympathy #1
  • Cut a panel of Oh So Ombre 6×6 DSP; using the Stamparatus, stamp one corner with this smaller corner stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Why use the Stamparatus? Couple of reasons… 1) if the stamp is not clear enough after the first stamping, it is easy to re-ink and stamp again in exactly the same spot. It is next to imposssible to do that by eye: it gets a bit of a shadow and that paper couldn’t be used. 2) The Stamparatus allows for perfect placement.
  • Turn the paper 180 degrees to stamp in the opposite corner. Stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
  • Place the sentiment from the Heal your Heart stamp set (FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale=a=bration) in the center of the paper and stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
  • Using the largest die in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, cut the center.
  • Adhere the larger panel to a piece of Basic Black card stock.
  • Adhere the die cut piece with dimensionals, being certain to line up the stamping just right. NOTE: the die cut piece is placed so the gradation of color is the opposite of the larger panel. I was able to do this because of the perfect placement of the corner stamp and use of the Stamparatus.
  • Add Pearl Basic Jewels.
  • Adhere this panel to a Blackberry Bliss card base with dimensionals ~ and your card front is done.

For the inside I stamped the corner with the same stamp from the Corner Bouquet stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock. Adhere with liquid glue to a piece of Basic Black card stock; then adhere this to the inside of the card & voila!

For the envelope I adhered another piece of the Oh So Ombre 6×6 DSP to the envelope flap. I stamped the small leaf on this and again on the front of the envelope – all in Tuxedo Black Memento ink ~ and the card is ready to send.

This card will go out today to a neighbor who just lost her father. I don’t know the circumstance other than he had health issues for some time. But the circumstances of his death aren’t needed. The focus is the loss of a loved one and to be supportive and caring.

Today’s card is not my design… it was from my upline, Mary Deatherage, who participated in a team training recently. She used different colors and embellishments, but the layout and design are hers. Thank you, Mary, for the inspiration!

Here are photos of the stamp sets and the DSP used in today’s project.

Stampin’ Up! Garden Wishes & Dragonfly Garden

I started working with the new Dragonfly Punch and was having way too much fun… mixed in Garden wishes stamp set and some Dandy Garden Memories & More cards plus a bit of Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP.

Here are two cards to add to my sympathy stash…

The Garden Wishes card is created with a Calypso Coral card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. The next layer is Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP 2 1/8 x 5 1/4 with Whisper White card stock on top 1 7/8 x 5 1/4 ~ both adhered with liquid glue. My next step was to cut a panel of Whisper White 2 5/8 x 4 and stamp it in Smokey Slate ink with the Garden wishes stamp set. I adhered this to a Calypso Coral piece 2 3/4 x 4 1/8 and attached dimensionals to it and popped it in the center of the card. For the sentiment I pulled out my Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack and peeled a sticky sentiment and just added it to the small panel. I really like that burst of color on the card – not too overwhelming, but adds something to it. Next I had already punched a dragonfly from the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP, covered it in Wink of Stella for some galm, put a couple of dimensionals on it and on it went. The bow is from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo (Terracotta Tile) and goes perfectly. Card front complete!

For the inside I stamped the sentiment in Smokey Slate ink from Woven Heirlooms stamp set on a panel of Whisper White 3 1/4 x 5. I added a smaller panel at the bottom to create something different – 1/2 x 5. I had a piece of the DSP left from the front of the card so added it with liquid glue.

The envelope flap got a strip of the same Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP plus a strip of Calypso Coral to finish. The front was stamped in Smokey Slate ink with the Garden Wishes stamp set.

Card #2 is the Dragonfly Garden bundle – and of course more…

Dragonfly Garden Bundle – #5

The card base is Thick Whisper White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. The next layer is regular Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4 run through new Painted Texture Embossing Folder and adhered with liquid glue. I stamped the floral bunch in Tuxedo Black Memento ink so I could color it with Stampin Blends. It was stamped on a piece of the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP 1 3/4 x 4 3/4. The Stampin Blends used were: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Highland Heather, Bronze and a bit of the Color Lifter. I adhered this to a panel of Bumblebee card stock just a bit larger 1 7/8 x 4 7/8. I cut yet another piece of Whisper White 2 1/4 x 5 1/4, ran it through the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder, adhered it with liquid glue to the card front, then added the Bumblebee/ stamped panel with dimensionals. A dragonfly punched from a piece of the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP was covered in Wink of Stella and added to the panel with more dimensionals. A smaller dragonfly was also added to the panel – on dimensionals. Finally I added the sentiment panel created days ago with the Many Messages stamp set & coordinating die – liquid glue on the right, directly on the panel and a mini dimensional or two on the left side. For a final touch I added one of the Ladybug Trinkets with a glue dot and the front was complete.

For the inside I stamped the small ‘squadron’ of dragonflies in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White card stock and colored with the Highland Heather Stampin Blends. I then stamped the sentiment from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set in the same ink. I adhered this to the inside of the card with liquid glue and the card was complete. For the envelope, I covered the flap with the same Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP as card #1 and stamped the ‘squadron’ of dragonflies on top of it. Love Black Memento ink then stamped the wings with Bumblebee ink, from the same stamp set. And yes, I covered the wings with Wink of Stella.

These are my two cards for the day. I had such fun working with these new supplies and can’t wait until you can have them in your stash. Jan 5, 2021 is the order date for customers – so put it on your calendar.

As a thank you to my customers, when the order is between $50-$150 I offer a SU! item of your choice valued at $10. Remember to use MY CURRENT HOST CODE SVFB9YJY – good until Dec 3, 2020. When the order is over $150, you still receive that free gift from me, but SU! has Stampin’ Rewards that may be used for additional products 😁

Stampin’ Up Dragonfly Garden

Hello folks… yesterday was a rainy day, a perfect opportunity to create indoors – and I did just that. I used the Dragonfly Garden stamp set with coordinating Dragonfly Punch and the such fun to use, Blending Brushes.

Dragonfly Garden Bundle – #1

Don’t you appreciate the softness of this card? The background is a Whisper White panel 4 x 5 1/4 colored with So Saffron ink and the NEW Blending Brushes. I basically covered the entire panel but made it a bit darker in the middle area – to highlight the dragonfly and the lovely floral bunch which I added next. The floral bunch comes from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set and was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink. The dragonfly was punched with the new Dragonfly punch, from one of the papers in the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP pack. I added Wink of Stella to the entire dragonfly for a bit of sparkle, put dimensionals on the back and adhered it to the card front.

oops – upside down… Dragonfly Garden Bundle

The sentiment comes from the new Many Messages stamp set & coordinating Messages Dies. A couple of days I stamped this full sheet of sentiments in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and die cut them with the full sheet die. It’s really handy to have these all ready! This sentiment was also put on dimensionals and adhered to the card front.

I added three 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots and the card front panel was complete. Put dimensionals on the panel and adhere to the Thick Whisper White card base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.

Dragonfly Garden Bundle – #1

For the inside I again used the wonderful Blending Brushed to create an oval coloring with So Saffron ink. I then stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink using the Woven Heirlooms stamp set.

Dragonfly Garden Bundle – inside – #2

For the envelope I used the Blending Brushes and So Saffron Ink to go around the entire envelope, including the flap. I then stasmped a portion of the floral bunch from Dragonfly garden stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink and the envelope & card were done!

Each of these items will be available to you as a customer Jan 5, 2021. The 2020-2021 Enamel Dots are available now as are the inks and papers and Woven Heirlooms stamp set. I will have those products listed below for your convenience.

Stampin’ Up! Woven Heirlooms Sympathy

Hello there! Happy POST Thanksgiving or Black Friday shopping? What are you doing today? Are you recuperating from over-eating? Are you shopping ’til you drop? Whatever it is, be safe, ok!!!

Yesterday I was talking with our daughter and she said she needed several sympathy cards. I try to keep her supplied – ya know? She’s one of my ‘backbones’ and it’s a small way of saying thanks. :O)

Woven Heirlooms Sympathy #1

When hubby saw this, he said ‘oh, very Victorian. I like it.’ I guess the soft Petal Pink, that gorgeous die cut AND the bow make it seem so. Here are the deets:

  • Thick Whisper White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. Remove 1″ from the front.
  • Whisper White panel 3 3/8 x 5 1/4 run through the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and adhered with liquid glue to the card front.
  • Whisper White panel for the die cut using Ornate Layers Dies. This is just a stunning die cut.
  • New Fine Art Floral DSP (available to customers Jan 5 in the 2021 Jan – Jun Mini Catalog) cut 2 1/4 x 3 5/8. Adhere either with liquid glue or Stampin Seal to the Whisper White Ornate Layer die cut.
  • Put dimensionals on the die cut panel and adhere to the card front as shown – with the die cut OVER the open edge of the cut off card front. This really makes it sow off!
  • Cut a panel of Whisper white 1 x 3 1/2 and stamp the sentiment in Petal Pink ink using the Woven Heirlooms stamp set. Add dimensionals to the back and adhere to the card front.
  • Tie a sweet bow with the Organdy Striped Ribbon (in Petal Pink) and adhere with a glue dot. Fini!
Woven Heirlooms Sympathy, inside – #2
  • On a Whisper White Panel cut 4 x 5 1/4, stamp the Woven Heirlooms sentiment in Petal Pink.
  • Adhere to the inside of the card with liquid glue or Stampin Seal. Voila!
Woven Heirlooms Sympathy – #3
  • Cover the envelope flap with a strip of the same Fine Art Floral DSP (2 1/4 x 6) and trim to fit. Adhere with liquid glue.
  • Stamp a fun design using the Woven Heirlooms stamp set and Petal Pink ink on the front of the envelope.

I took my inspiration for this card on the very first page of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog and adapted it for my purposes. Thanks Stampin’ Up!

Stampin’ Up! On Stage

Hi Everyone… today begins a full day of SU! On Stage Virtual Convention – wheee! We’ll do lots of stamping with one of the new stamp bundles Dandy Garden Project Collection. It includes a stamp set & coordinating punch, trinkets, linen thread trim & 6×6 DSP. I am smitten with all of it! Here’s a card I made a week or so ago with this collection of products.

Dandy Garden Project Collection

Are these dragonflies gorgeous or what? The DSP in the background is in Mossy Meadow, but I wanted, in this card, to highlight the sweet bouquet of flowers and on the envelope particularly, the dragonfly. I also have used it on the inside. Our fun stamping today will be using these products again :O)

Last night was the opening of our virtual convention, namely recognizing achievements by many demonstrators. Here’s our logo for this year’s virtual…

And here’s my award…

Special thanks to my customers and those who follow my posts. I so appreciate each one of you. This keeps my creative juices flowing and feeling productive. Virtual hugs to all… 🤗🤗🤗 Lots of room for growth!

Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Garden Sympathy Card

Hello again! Today’s card is made with a brand new suite of products that will be available in the new Jan- June 2021 Mini Catalog . It’s called the Dragonfly Garden Suite, beautiful, beautiful. Remember that dragonfly from a couple of years ago – now there is a new Dragonfly Punch that coordinates with this stamp set! Let’s take a peek at the card…

Dragonfly Garden – Sympathy – #1

This card incorporates several products from the suite: the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP, the Dragonfly Garden stamp set, the Dragonfly punch (although I only punched the small dragonfly) and the Braided Linen Trim in Mossy Meadow. The only product not used is the Lady Bug Trinkets – next time.

Let me talk you through the making of this card…

  • Begin with Thick Whisper White 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2 for your card base.
  • Add a layer (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) of the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP to the card front with liquid glue.
  • Die cut a panel of Mossy Meadow card stock and another of Whisper White card stock with the same size Rectangle Stitched Dies (I used the third largest die)
  • Stamp the Whisper White panel with the lovely spray of wildflowers from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink. Color with Markers: Bumblebee, Soft Suede and Pear Pizzazz
  • Stamp the butterfly bunch in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and color with Highland Heather Blends. Cover with Wink of Stella for added sparkle.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Path of Petals stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
  • Punch the small dragonfly from a Whisper White scrap using the Dragonfly Punch. Color with Basic Black Marker and the Highland Heather marker. Attach with a mini glue dot.
  • Find the center on this panel and punch a hole for the ribbon. Depending on the size of the ribbon, the hole size will vary. Loop a length of ribbon through the hole (I used the Polka Dot 5/8″ Tulle Ribbon) and tied this with a short length of the Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim. Yep, I need to trim the length of this tulle – it’s too long 😜
  • Adhere the stamped Whisper White panel to the already die cut Mossy Meadow panel with liquid glue or Stampin Seal, creating an interesting angle. Attach these two to the card front with dimensionals.

For the inside… and the envelope too

Dragonfly Garden – Sympathy card inside – #2
  • Stamp the dragonfly from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set twice on the Whisper White panel (3 3/4 x 5) with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Color with Highland Heather Blends. Cover with Wink of Stella. The shine is glorious! Perhaps this picture will show it better.
Dragonfly Garden – Sympathy #3
  • Adhere the stamped Whisper White panel to Mossy Meadow card stock (4 x 5 1/4) with liquid glue. Then add this to the inside of the card, also with liquid glue.
  • Stamp the Butterfly on the envelope front in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and color with Stampin Blends Highland Heather and cover with Wink of Stella. VOILA! Your card is complete…
Dragonfly Garden – Sympathy – #4

This is such a beautiful stamp set and suite of products – I’ll be posting more ideas using it in the coming weeks…. The Dragonfly Garden Suite!

Thanks for stopping by.

May you have a beautiful day.

Stampin’ Up! Stitched Leaves Dies & Sympathy

Hello Again – nice to be with you. We have a light rain this morning and I am supposed to have some folks come for a class at 10 AM – OUTSIDE! I think we’ll wait to see what it does… the radar isn’t showing anything 😳

OK – today’s card is a sympathy card and mailed already. Sympathy cards are like that, they need to go right away. I love the simplicity of this card and have done something like it before, but sometimes when it’s a good layout – why not?

Stitched Leaves Dies & Sympathy – #1

The Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP is part of the showstopper here, but the leaf… wow – it’s a stunner. I really like how it has the stitching inside showing leaf detail, and behind it is another but die cut from Brushed Metallic in Copper. Behind that is a Very Vanilla panel die cut using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

Let’s go back a little bit as I kinda got ahead of myself.

  • Begin with a Thick Very Vanilla card base 4 1/4 x 11
  • Die cut copper leaf from the center of a panel of Brushed Metallic card stock 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. It’s going to be covered by the DSP and no one will ever know!
  • Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP ( 3 7/8 x 5 1/8) is layered onto the Brushed Metallic panel with liquid glue.
  • Adhere these directly to the card base with liquid glue.
  • Die cut the rectangle using Stitched Rectangle Dies and Very Vanilla card stock. Adhere to the card front with liquid glue, centering.
  • Die cut a leaf using the Stitched Leaves Dies from Very Vanilla cs (3 3/4 square of VV will do it). Adhere the two leaves together with Stampin Seal, keeping the ends of the leaves loose. Adhere to the rectangle with liquid glue.
  • Add a bow using the 1/16″ Gold cord from the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack.
  • Front sentiment: this comes from Field of Flowers stamp set and was stamped in Soft Suede ink – having stamped off at least once. The sentiment banner is a Very Vanilla strip 1/2″ x however long the sentiment :O) Adhere with dimesnionals.

The inside…

Love of Leaves & Peaceful Moments stamp sets
  • Stamp the sentiment using the Peaceful Moments stamp set and Soft Suede ink onto a Very Vanilla panel 4 x 5 1/4. Stamp full strength!
  • Stamp the leaf from the Love of Leaves stamp set and Soft Suede ink, stamping off at least twice.
  • Adhere directly to the inside of the card and Voila! Your card is complete.

For the envelope…

Love of Leaves & Gilded Autumn – #3
  • Stamp the leaf on the front of the Very Vanilla envelope with Soft Suede ink, stamping off 2-3 times.
  • Cut a panel of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP 2 1/4 x 6, adhere with liquid glue to the flap and trim to fit. Done.

This makes such an elegant yet simple card, it would be easy to make several just like it using various patterns of this DSP – and they would all look different due to the DSP or ribbons used. And of course the sentiment could be changed to happy birthday or thinking of you or congratulations.

I’ve already given you the card cuts, and the product list is below.

Thanks for stopping by.
