Hello stampin’ friends – today is Saturday and I am again sharing Paper Pumpkin alternatives with you. And I guess one of the things I want you to consider is that these projects/ alternatives can be applied to other Stampin’ Up products – NOT JUST Paper Pumpkin!
This card uses one of the card bases in the kit & is very similar to what the kit suggests. I used Strawberry Slush ink for the sentiment and added Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink Gems on the card front. On the inside, I stamped the strawberries in Poppy Parade (a coordinating color recommended by the kit) and Granny Apple Green ink for the top on a Basic White panel and adhered it to Strawberry Slush.
This card uses an original card base & another which I cut up and is a fun fold. It’s a tucked in offset gatefold. The additional supplies for this card are the red & White Bakers Twine, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight inks. In addition, I used more of the strawberry card front to cover the flap of a medium envelope. And look at the last photo to see how the offset gatefold tucks in.
Hopefully you can see how it fold in, slipping it under the circle.

Good morning! Paper Pumpkin is a monthly box of refreshing goodies, mostly to make cards but sometimes to make gift bags or boxes. Today I am using the Sweeter Than You July PP and creating a fun fold. Here is what comes in your kit for July 2025

There’s a stamp set in the original kit, just not in the refill! And here’s my first Alternate card.
I used the card base differently, scoring it at 2 3/4 & 5 1/2 and folding it as shown. I added a Basic White panel behind the vellum & added a Twine double bow, Wink of Stella to flower centers. On the inside, I cut a Garden Green then stamped a Basic White using stamps from the stamp set, Garden Green ink (supplied in the kit) and Daffodil Delight ink from my own stash for the stamped flowers. Everything else is part of the kit.

Good morning Friends… NJ has had a couple of days respite from the heat – a drop of 30 degrees to the 70’s! These are welcome temperatures! Today’s card is made with the new In Colors Secret Sea and Cloud Cover – and could be duplicated using all the new In Colors.
I began with the 2025-2027 In Color 6×6 DSP cut 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 and cut it on the diagonal, then turned the pieces 90 degrees holding them together, to cut on the other diagonal. (NOTE: This works with DSP that has a reverse side that is coordinating in color/ pattern, not conflicting. So choose carefully 😀) After cutting the DSP, decide which sections should be primary showing the pattern desired. Here I chose the left and right panels to be dominant and simply turned the other two panels to the reverse side. These were adhered to Basic White cut 4 x 5 1/4, dimensionals added to the back and attached to a Cloud Cover card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. On the front I added a length of 3/8″ Faux Linen Ribbon with Stampin’ Seal. Using the Mixed Labels Dies, I cut two labels, the larger in Secret Sea, the smaller in Basic White. I stamped the sentiment using the Mixed Labels stamp set in Secret Sea ink. I layered the two together with adhesive, popped dimensionals across the back on top & bottom and adhered it over the ribbon. The final touch was adding several 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls in Cloud Cover.
For the inside… simple… a 1/2 x 4 strip of the same 25-27 In Color DSP as used on the card front, and attached to the side of a Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 panel
For the envelope, more of the 25-27 In Color DSP on the flap trimmed to fit. On the front, using Cloud Cover ink and an image in the Mixed Labels stamp set, I stamped twice on the lower left corner. This gives a completed look and could even be used as a masculine card, despite the flowers.

Whew – we are having a m-a-j-o-r heat wave here in NJ, USA. Thank goodness for air conditioning, which we did NOT have when I was growing up in Indiana. But then, the Internet nor cell phones were a thing then either. Sigh. I digress… my card today uses the stunning Painterly Pears 12×12 DSP (available Jul 1 in my online store) and a few other products. Let’s take a look –
That fun hexagon uses the Meant to Bee Dies.
Basic directions to make this fun fold.
Card base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 then the front section folded back on itself in half. NOTE: while you could score at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4, I prefer more precise edges (sometimes it’s off a smidge), and that’s why I simply fold it back on itself. Card base is Secret Sea.
Layered panels – card stock: 2 x 5 3/8 (cut 2) 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. I used Misty Moonlight.
DSP layers – 1 7/8 x 5 1/4 (cut 2 in coordinating patterns), 2 1/4 x 5 1/4
Basic White layer – 2 1/4 x 5 1/4
For the sentiment panel, using the Meant to Be Dies, I die cut three hexagons: Secret Sea, Misty Moonlight and Painterly Pears DSP. What’s fun about these dies is they die cut not only the hexagon, but a fun edge and it’s that edge that I used for the Misty Moonlight piece. The pear is stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink and the leaves in Old Olive – both using the Perfectly Pears stamp set. I die cut them with the Perfectly Pears Dies, attached dimentionals to the pear and added it to the hexagon, then added the stem /leaves with a bit of liquid glue and a dimensional behind the right leaf. The sweet ‘hello’ comes from the Perfectly Pears stamp set and it is stampedin Mossy Meadow ink and die cut with a die from the Perfectly Pears Dies. It was added with dimensionals behind on the right & a dab of glue on the left. I added three Low Profile Dots from the Painterly Pears Suite Collection, then attached the hexagon just to the left front panel.
For the envelope, more Painterly Pears 12×12 DSP on the flap & trimmed to fit. The pear is again stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink and the leaf/stemn in Old Olive ink using appropriate stamps in the Perfectly Pears stamp set. What a friendly, fun looking card and perfect for several occasions. I love the versatility.

Explosion cards are just that – meant to WOW when opening them. I’ve two of them for you today 0ne is a 4 1/4 square card and the other is a standard A2 card with a finished size of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. There are advantages to both sizes… both have the same size inside explosion 😀
card one – made with Full of Life 6×6 DSP, Spotlight On Nature Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies, You Are Remarkable stamp set, Beautiful Motifs stamp, Tinsel Gems , Lemon Lime Twist card base, Lemon Lime Twist, Shaded Spruce & Memento inks. Card base is 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
card two – made with Beautiful Bokeh 6×6 DSP, Spring Corners stamp set, Layered Thoughts stamp, Stitched Shapes Dies, Low Profile Dots, Stampin’ Blends Soft Sea Foam, Lost Lagoon & Pretty Peacock, Petal Pink card base with an overlay of Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink & Memento inks. Card base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Basic directions…
With the side you wish to have showing most, fold a 6×6 piece of DSP in half, open & turn 90 degrees and fold in half again. Burnish well & open
Turn this piece over and fold in half in a diagonal fashion only once. Burnish and open. This creates the fold across the middle
The white panels on this are made with the largest of the Stitched Squares Dies, stamped and attached with adhesive of choice
Be sure to do all stamping, coloring, decorating before attaching to card base
To attach to card base…
Mark the center point both at the bottom of the card base and close to the center fold of the base
With ‘explosion’ piece completely closed, line up points on the diagonal with center points on card base and adhere to bottom half of card base. Make certain the card base will open and close easily.
Add adhesive to remaining portion of closed ‘explosion’ and close card front. Bingo –
NOTE: Decorate card front before attaching the ‘explosion’ piece.

Our family is gathering for a celebratory weekend in a magical place called Mohonk Mountain House. There is a covering of snow that is just beautiful. And it is c-o-l-d. All kinds of activities are offered: ice skating and archery, hiking (guided or unguided), a pool & sauna. As I said, it’s magical.
My card for today is one I made for a minister friend of ours, age 94. He has made such a positive impact on others, a really good man. The card base is Thick Basic White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. I added a layer embossed with the Timber 3D embossing folder, 4 x 5 1/4 and set these aside.
On a Basic White panel I stamped the cross image with fronds in Garden Green ink using the Faith Collection stamp set. Then with the Faith Collection Dies and Country Woods 12×12 DSP, die cut the cross and adhered it to a plain cross then attached both with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Faith Collection stamp set in Highland heather ink and added two Tinsel Gems Three Pack in Fresh Freesia.
I adhered this panel to a Garden Green piece, then Highland Heather as well. I wrapped these with Natural Tones Linen Thread & tied a bow, adhering in place with a glue dot. I added dimensionals to the back and attached to the card base. :O)
For the inside… I pulled another stamp set called Courage & Faith and stamped the sentiment in Memento ink on a Basic White panel, then each of the leafy stamps too. I colored the leaves with Shy Shamrock Stampin’ Blends, adhered the panel to the inside and the card was complete.

Good Saturday! What is your day like where you live? Here in New Jersey it is rainy and about 71 degrees. A day for staying inside! Wednesday I had a card class using the super fun Sophisticated Sled bundle. I love this card and this bundle…
I used several different products to make this card, but let’s begin with the card base – Shaded Spruce 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2, then trim off on the long side 2 3/4. This panel becomes the background for the sled. :O) Next I cut pieces of Sentimental Christmas DSP and adhered them to the card base: 4 x 2 1/2 (cut 2, one for card front top and one for inside); 4 x 2 3/4 (this is my stripe panel). And since there is some overlap here, I added a strip of Shaded Spruce 1/2 x 4.
I stamped the inside top panel in Shaded Spruce ink with a stamp from Sophisticated Sled stamp set. Back to the card front… with the DSP adhered, I added the 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 panel removed from the card base by centering it and added adhesive just to the top portion. Now the super fun part – the sled.
From Silver Foil Sheet (2 x 4) die cut the sled rungs and skate bottoms
From Basic White (2 x 2 3/4) die cut the skate shoes and laces
From Country Woods DSP (2 x 3 & note the direction of the grain) die cut the sled.
From Full of Life DSP die cut the green leaf spray. There are two layered together here, offset, so the variegation of the DSP shows.
Putting it all together…
Adhere the wood-grain Country Woods sled top to the silver sled rungs. NOTE: the sled top has tiny holes on each side – line those up with the silver cross bars. There are two parts to the sled top die cut, the second does not show as it is under the green spray, but that portion used to ‘guide’ the sled if someone was riding it. (Remember those days?) Adhere this piece in place at a silver cross bar.
Glue the two leaf sprays together in the center only, then add to the sled ‘cross bar’ in center only.
Skates shoes … there is a tiny slit to insert the laces, adhere those in place; add silver ‘skate’ to shoe bottom. Add left skate shoe to sled with dimesnionals, then right skate shoe with dimensionals on bottom of skate
Add sled to Shaded Spruce panel with dimensionals
Add Add Cherry Cobbler Adhesive-Backed Berries to green spray
Add White Loose Snowflakes as shown with dots of liquid glue. This is a bit fiddly but worth the effect/ look!
Now turn the card over to the back… to a Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 panel, add 3 die cut snowflakes using the Frozen Edges Dies. I die cut these from scraps of the Sentimental Christmas DSP. I added Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes on each of these – in gold, copper and white, adhered the panel in place and the card was complete!
For the envelope… I cut a panel of Sentimental Christmas DSP 2 1/4 x 6 and adhered it to the flap & trimmed to fit. On the front I stamped the sentiment from Sophisticated Sled in Shaded Spruce ink. I stamped the bottom two times, then the final stamp on the side.
Love, love, love this card! Maybe because it brings back such fond memories of snow & sledding the hills of a golf course back home – really good memories.
