Stampin’ Up! Birthday w/ Gorgeous Leaves

Good Saturday morning! It’s a beaut here ~ 65 degrees and a bit breezy. The day is new & fresh :O) I just recently posted (Thurs) a card with a fun centerpiece created w/ Blending Brushes & several colors. Because there was some card stock left over I decided to put it to use and created today’s card. Because of the sentiments used, it can so easily be used as a ‘thinking of you card’ as well.

Birthday w/ Gorgeous Leaves.1

The three squares are some of what’s remaining of the original coloring, and it’s been backed by Brushed Metallic card stock in a coppery look. The leaves were die cut from Gold/ Rose Gold 6×6 using the gold (you can see I left some of the pieces in the leaves – intentionally), Gold foil sheet and a stamped leaf in stamped off Mango Melody. The dies used are Intricate Leaves Dies which coordinates with the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set. The Cajun Craze card stock was run through the Timeworn Word 3D embossing folder and adhered to a Very Vanilla panel and attached to the Cajun craze card base with dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Wishes stamp set and stamped on a Very Vanilla scrap with Pumpkin Pie ink then fussy cut & also adhered with dimensionals. The three leaves were glued in place and a glue dot was used to adhere a double strand bow of Linen Thread.

Birthday w/ Gorgeous Leaves.2

For the inside…. I used stamped off Pumpkin Pie ink for the leaves, sometimes third generation. The splotch was made with Mango Melody ink ~ both from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set on a panel of Very Vanilla. The sentiment is again from Heartfelt Wishes stamp set, stamped in Pumpkin Pie…. and the card was done! Kinda nice having left-over pieces to create a card. :O)

Birthday w/ Gorgeous Leaves.3

For the envelope I used the same process as the inside of the card… stamped off Pumpkin Pie for the leaves and Mango Melody ink for the splotch – both on a Very Vanilla envelope.

Here is a photo of the ink colors used to create the original panel with the Blending Brushes.

Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Leaves

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! The theme this week is LEAVES – and interpret that however we like – so… here goes! Be sure to follow along to see all the wonderful projects.

Gorgeous Leaves Bundle.1

My goodness, did I have fun with this card. See that stunning color on the inside of the rectangle? Love, love. And it was created with several colors… but I get ahead of myself just a bit. Begin with a panel of Very Vanilla card stock and using the Stitched Rectangle Dies, die cut and remove the center. With Blending Brushes create this gorgeousness: begin with Crushed Curry, then Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and finally Cherry Cobbler inks. Beginning with the lightest of colors and continuing to add each layer, this beauty was created. The next step was to use a Water Painter and flick water droplets, which takes some of the color away. I actually did this process twice so I could die cut leaves from the second piece. That second leaf above is cut from the additional creation. Before die cutting it though, I stamped it with Soft Suede ink using the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set, stamped off once, then die cut with Intricate Leaves Dies. The top leaf is also die cut with one of the Intricate Leaves Dies – and from the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty 6×6 paper. I then colored it with Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends and accented it with Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends. I added a bit of Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends to the stem and into a bit of the vein on this leaf. My next die cut was the tiny leaf from Gold Foil. I adhered these to the frame of the Very Vanilla with liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink using a sentiment from Forever Blossoms stamp set. I put dimensionals on the back of this Very Vanilla panel but did not attach it yet. First I placed the panel on the card base, then laid the gorgeous colored rectangle on the Very vanilla card front & adhered it with liquid glue. I then adhered the front panel so it was ‘square’ with the inner piece.

Gorgeous Leaves Bundle.2

Here is another of the die cut leaves using the Intricate Leaves Dies, cut from the additional colored panel. Once I adhered the leaf with liquid glue, I flicked Soft Suede ink of the Very Vanilla panel, but not all over, just in places. I then stamped the sentiment (from Party Puffins stamp set) in Pumpkin Pie ink. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card – and bingo, the card was done!

Gorgeous Leaves Bundle.3

For the envelope I stamped this fun leaf (I think it’s a maple leaf) from Gorgeous Leaves stamp set with Pumpkin Pie ink and sponged daubed on the edges Cherry Cobbler ink. The front leaf is full strength. The leaves on the flap were 2nd & 3rd generation stamping. You can see the Blending Brushes used here in this photo – and the beautiful detail of the Intricate Leaves Die to create the top leaf.

For this card in particular, I kept wanting to add something, metallic adhesive-backed gems or linen thread or doodles along the right. But I stopped. The look is clean.

Stampin’ Up! Love of Leaves Thinking of You

Hello! How’s your Saturday? It’s beautiful here on the East Coast… and a good day for some outdoor activities 🙂 While it is still full swing summer here, I chose to make this easy, fun, fall card. It uses the stunning Stitched leaves Dies that emboss and die cut all in one movement. This is a carry-over item into the 2021 Annual Catalog that coordinates with the Love of Leaves stamp set, but for this card I have used some new products available in the to the general public from the Jul-Dec 2021 Mini Catalog. Aug 3 is that big date!

Love of Leaves & Stitched Leaves Dies.1

What are the new products? The awesomely sparkly Be Dazzling 6×6 DSP is one of the new items on this card; the other is the Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots in gold. The white bow is made by pulling apart a length of the Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack and attaching it with a glue dot. This is a new item in the 2021 Annual Catalog.

Ok, so you see the colors: Cherry Cobbler, Cinnamon Cider and the Be Dazzling 6×6 DSP, layered on a piece of Early Espresso card stock (which was added to the card base with dimensionals). The card base is Very Vanilla that has been run through the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. The large leaf was adhered just in the center with liquid glue. The Cinnamon Cider leaf got dimensionals and was placed over the large leaf. The Cherry Cobbler leaf was adhered with liquid glue as well. The inspiration for this card came from the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge as seen in the sketch below. What do you think? Does it look like the sketch?

Each of the leaves has been die cut with the Stitched Leaves Dies, two of them have that wonderful stitching that looks like veins in the leaves. I REALLY like these! Of course I like the large leaf too, but I didn’t think the veins would show on that sparkly DSP. What else can I tell you about this – oh, the long Cinnamon Cider leaf was cut from the 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 DSP.

Let’s take peek at the inside of the card.

Stitched Leaves Dies.2

I die cut this small leaf from Cherry Cobbler card stock scrap and once I put the card front together, here was this fun scrap. I decided to add it to the inside of the card with liquid glue. It brings a fun element to the card. I stamped the sentiment from the Loves of Leaves stamp set with Cinnamon Cider ink. All this was done on a Very Vanilla panel which was added to the inside of the card.

Love of Leaves & Stitched Leaves Dies.3

The leaf stamps in the Love of Leaves stamp set are distinctive, which means they don’t make a solid image. The large leaf in this set was stamped in 2nd & 3rd generation with Cinnamon Cider ink on the front and the flap.

It seems strange to make a fall kind of card at this time of year, but that’s what seem to come together – and I like it. It’s just that it won’t get used for a while!

Card cuts will be listed at the bottom of this post. If you do not have a demonstrator and need a Jul-Dec 2021 Mini Catalog, please reach out to me – happy to send one to you. And when I send it, there will be a Sale-a-bration catalog in with it! That means more FREE items to choose from with every order of $50, or $100 or multiples of that. Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Garden & Dandy Wishes Memories & More

Oh the Dandy Wishes Memories & More cards & envelopes are just really, really nice. And of course retiring May 3. They are a larger size and really easy. I haver chosen to add Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP for additional colors & layers and have included a new fun die called Tailor Made Tags Dies.

Dragonfly Garden & Dandy Wishes Memories & More – #1

As you can see I added two background papers from the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP, then this sweet tag. I stamped a panel of Basic White card stock with this fun bouquet from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Memento Black ink. I then colored some of the leavers & flowers with Watercolor Pencils: Garden Green, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry. I die cut it with the new Tailor Made Tags Dies and added a Magenta Madness ribbon tied with linen thread. I popped this on the two layers with dimensionals and the card front was complete.

For the inside i added another of the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP. Then on a Basic White panel, I stamped the sentiment from Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Memento Black ink. I then stamped the dragonfly clusters also in Memento Black ink then took my Rich Razzleberrry Watercolor Pencil and colored some of the dragonflies. I used my Blending Brush to smooth the lines, adhered the panel to the inside and voila – done & dusted as they say.

Dragonfly Garden & Dandy Garden Memories & More – #3

No need to decorate the envelope as it’s done for us! You could color it but I chose not to.

Stampin’ Up! Quiet Moments Part 2

OK – same stamp set, same dies, how can this card be so different? I couldn’t help it – these dies just called to me. I truly don’t know how SU! does it – keep coming up with new products all the time. But that’s the power of creativity and different minds working together, right? And these dies are all about flowers and nature and I’m that kind of girl. So here we go…

Quiet Meadow Part 2 – #1

I’ve talked before about how much I appreciate monochromatic cards, and this is pretty similar – just a hint of color. The color comes from using a retiring product called Natural Touch Specialty Paper. It has a wood grain and a bit of a velvetty soft feel to it. And I added the very cute Bumblebee Trinket that is new in the 21-22 Annual Catalog. The sentiment comes from Quiet Meadow stamp set and is such a versatile one that this card could be used for sympathy or after surgery or get well or just plain ‘thinking of you’ kind of card. And I introduced one of the new In Colors, Evening Evergreen by inking the sentiment. The breakdown for this card:

  • Basic White Thick card stock for the base 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
  • Natural Touch Specialty Paper 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 (2, one for inside) + envelope flap + scraps for die cuts
  • Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 (2, one for inside) + scraps for die cuts

The flowers were adhered with liquid glue; the flower center the same; the Bumblebee trinket with a glue dot – all on a Basic White panel 4 x 5 1/4. This was adhered to the Natural Touch Specialty Paper with Stampin’ Seal, which then got dimensionals to adhere it to the card base.

Quiet Meadow Part 2, inside – #2

For the inside I used two Whimsy Dies to create this fun pattern on a Basic White panel – doesn’t it make it look as though the butterfly has flown everywhere? The butterfly also comes from the Meadow Dies and was adhered with liquid glue. Basic White panel to the Natural Touch Specialty Paper then into the inside of the card – done!

Quiet Meadow Part 2 – #3

For the envelope, another fun butterfly from Meadow Dies out of the Natural Touch Specialty Paper and more of the same paper on the envelope flap. FINIS! Love the simplicity and the finished look.

The Quiet Meadow Bundle will be available for customers to order as of May 4, as will be the fun Butterfly Trinkets and Evening Evergreen ink. In the meantime, take a look at the retiring products ands pick up some really good deals. If I can help you in any way to order these items, or others, please give me a holler. As a thank you to my customers, when the order is between $50-$150 I offer a SU! item of your choice valued at $10. Remember to use MY CURRENT HOST CODE – 63SXY3X6– good April 1- 15 . Stampin’ Up! Quiet Meadow

OMGoodness – new SU! products… are… a… dream… Today’s card uses the beautiful Quiet Meadow Bundle and Hand-Penned DSP + new 21-23 In Color Pale Papaya and some gorgeous Genial Gems ~ yes, all these from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. As a demonstrator, we are able to order certain products as a pre-order to use, create & stimulate, and this was the first I pulled from my box to use. The dies in this bundle are just stunning and I can already tell I will be getting out my watercolor paper to play. Here is today’s card…

Quiet Meadows Bundle – #1

Isn’t that flower bouquet sweet? After stamping in Memento ink on a Basic White panel, I colored the leaves lightly with watercolor pencil (Garden Green) and then the flowers with the Pale Papaya Stampin Blends. This is such a soft look and I really like the contrasting colors. I added three Genial Gems to the panel. How about that DSP!!! Here’s a peek at the pack: Hand-Penned DSP…

I’m realizing not all of the papers actually show in these photos, but you can see how wonderful they are. Back to the card: the DSP and Pale Papaya card stock were both cut at 3 3/4 x 5 and adhered together with liquid glue, then to the front of the card (Pool Party card stock 5 1/2 x is 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4). I added the stamped panel also with liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment in Memento ink on one of the Hand-Penned DSP and die cut it with a die from the Meadow Dies. I adhered it with dimensionals and the card front was done.

Quiet Meadow Bundle – #2

For the inside, I first stamped the splotches using the new In Color Pale Papaya ink on a Basic White panel then adhered one of the wonderful die cuts with liquid glue. This die cut was cut from the new Subtles 6×6 DSP pack so it has some variation of color. I adhered this panel to a slightly larger piece of Pale Papaya card stock then to the inside of the card and voila – the card is done.

Quiet Meadow Bundle – #3

For the envelope I adhered one of the papers from the Hand-Penned DSP to the envelope flap and trimmed it to fit. I then stamped this sweet flower from Quiet Moments stamp set in Memento ink and colored it with the Pale Papaya Stampin Blends and the set was done… This is just so bright and fresh and yet very soothing as the colors are soft. I hope you like the inspiration.

If you are interested in purchasing this set now, you could very easily JOIN MY TEAM and get this set as part of your ordering package or $125 worth of products for $99. Just sayin’ – hard to pass up… you may do that here.

Products from todays card are mostly from the 21-22 Annual Catalog and not available to customers until May 4. So dream, swoon, make you list. More Butterflies

Butterfly Brilliance shines again! This is such a gorgeous stamp and die bundle and I do have a ‘thing’ about butterflies. Yesterday we had our quarterly Team Meeting and did a bit of stamping as well as business. I chose to use different colors but the layout and idea are the same. Here’s a close-up of the butterfly as I covered it in Wink of Stella after coloring it in Stampin’ Blends and the sparkle doesn’t really show well.

More Butterflies close-up – #1

Can you see the sparkle? Maybe just a bit, eh? Preparation:

  • Card base is Terracotta Tile 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
  • Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 (2), one for inside; enough for butterfly die cut + sentiment banner
  • 2019-2021 In Color 6×6 DSP 3 7/8 x 5 1/8m – Terracotta Tile
  • Crumb Cake 3 3/8 x 5 1/8
  • In Good Taste DSP 3 1/4 x 5 1/8

How to:

  • Stamp the butterfly from Butterfly Brilliance stamp set on a Basic White panel. I used Sahara Sand but would recommend Memento Black ink.
  • Color the butterfly with Stampin’ Blends. I used Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate and Color Lifter. Cover with Wink of Stella. Die cut with the Brilliant Wings Dies. Hint: I have cut my butterflies apart and really like that I can use my mini die cut machine for these dies now. Plus they are so much more versatile for me. I have aslo cut the butterfly stamps apart as well 😁
  • Stamp the In Good Taste panel with various butterflies – or just one of therm – in Sahara Sand ink. My ink pad is inky so it shows up a bit darker than I expected, but it’s still subtle enough for me.
  • Adhere this panel to the Crumb Cake piece with liquid glue. Adhere these two pieces to the 2019-2021 In Color panel, again with liquid glue. Finally adhere all this to the Basic White piece. Put dimensionals on the back and adhere to the card front.
  • Stamp your sentiment on Basic White – I did mine in Terracotta Tile ink and it comes from the Happy Thoughts stamp set. Die cut with Tasteful Labels Dies. Add to the card front with dimensionals.
  • Put dimensionals on the die cut butterfly and add to the front.
  • Add three (3) Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins and the card front is complete.
More Butterflies – #2

For the inside of the card… so simple. Stamp butterflies from Butterfly Brilliance stamp set in Sahara Sand ink on the remaining Basic White panel. Adhere this to the inside of the card and done, done.

More Butterflies, inside – #3

For the envelope, I used the same butterfly and stamped it on the envelope front, then covered the flap with the remaining piece of the 2019-2020 In Color 6×6 DSP. Here’s repeat of that photo.

More Butterflies – #2

This card is not particularly feminine – intentionally so. It’s going to a male friend of ours who just had unplanned quadruple bypass surgery. Ugh… Cannot imagine his wife not being able to visit during this time of unknown due to the pandemic. But he is to be released from the hospital quite soon – so grateful for that!

Below is a product list of items used in today’s project. They come from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog as well as the 2021 Product Premier Butterfly Brilliance Collection, part of which will be in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog (stamp set & dies)~ and those products are available now for purchase. You will find them in the product list below. As a reminder… I’ve made it easy for you to simply ‘add all to cart’. If I can help you in any way to order these items, or others, please give me a holler. As a thank you to my customers, when the order is between $50-$150 I offer a SU! item of your choice valued at $10. Remember to use MY CURRENT HOST CODE QDCUDHDC – good Mar 1 – 15. When the order is over $150, you still receive that free gift from me, but SU! has Stampin’ Rewards that may be used for additional products, so don’t use the host code at that time. If you have questions just let me know.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin’ Up! ‘Painted” True Love DSP

I’ve been at it again – coloring that is. This time with Stampin’ Blends as they are so EASY to use. I enjoy coloring ~ with pencils, Blends, Blending Brushes, sponge daubers, even watercolors. I’m not so good at watercoloring and would like to play with that more. So what are you up to? What is your favorite medium?

‘Painted’ True Love DSP – #1

This shouts SPRING to me, maybe because of the purple, or Easter. Nonetheless… it uses both Highland Heather and Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends for the purples, Old Olive and Granny Apple Green for the leaves, and just a bit of Daffodil Delight for the centers of the flowers. I cut them down to size, mounted them on panels of Highland Heather, put them on dimensionals and added them to a Basic White panel. I then stamped the sentiment from Art Gallery stamp set in Memento Black ink. This panel also got dimensionals and was adhered to a Highland Heather card base. I added three Metallic Pearls in Gold and the card front was done…. The hardest part was deciding how to use the ‘painted’ panel. And I settled on the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches 475 to use my colored panel.

For the inside I used one of the strips left over and adhered it to the Basic White panel with liquid glue and then into the Highland Heather for the inside to be ‘fait accomplis’. And the envelope was super simple: more True Love DSP adhered to the flap and a smaller piece of the ‘painted’ DSP I fussy cut and adhered to the card front with liquid glue. VOILA!

Stampin’ Up! Butterflies to Go

Hello again… today is TGIF, Friday the 26th… only two more days for Sale-a-bration. The products FREE with $50, $100 and above purchase are amazing. If you haven’t jumped in yet, it isn’t too late. It’s is getting close though :O) OK – projects. I had a class the other day, only three of us but we have a good time masked et all. Remember the butterfly box I made? For directions to make this box yourself, click here to my previous post.

Butterfly Card Box

The class made the same box, only with different papers, and a coordinating card – and I want to share them with you. The DSP this time was Paper Blooms DSP, one of the FREE packets of 12 x 12 paper. The focus was to make the box, decorate if there was time, and to make a card. Take a peek…

Sorry -n there are two photos of the one box/ card – ugh. Didn’t these turn out lovely? Remember the front isn’t decorated yet, but even just as is, the box is wonderful. And the ladies did such a great job. Last time I tried this, it was a different group and they were not so careful and because of that the lid did not fit. I’m so proud of these ladies… they were precise and yay!!!

Now for today’s project… I’m making cards for the box that I made – and it’s for a special friend. I only have two made so far, but will finish the rest soon to give her. Here are the two cards…

These cards have the same layout, but different sentiments and embellishments. Directions for both are the same.

  • Card base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2: scored at 4 1/4 Card 1 – Seaside Spray/ card 2 – So Saffron
  • Cut a panel of DSP with the largest Stitched Rectangles Dies: Card 1 Sand & Sea DSP/ Card 2 Butterfly Bijou 6×6 (NEW)
  • Adhere a panel of a coordinating DSP cut 2 1/4 by 4 1/4
  • With the fourth largest Stitched Rectangles Dies, die cut a panel from the center.
  • Adhere dimensionals to the back of the smaller panel and set aside. (You could also use Foam Adhesive Sheets cut smaller than the rectangle)
  • Adhere larger panel to card front: adhere smaller panel with dimensionals in the opening. What’s so neat about this is you have double stitching showing 🙂
  • Decorate the card front!
    • Here I used butterflies die cut with the Brilliant Wings Dies (NEW) from the (also NEW) Butterfly Bijou 6×6 DSP This DSP will be available to customers Mar 2 – May 3, then it will no longer be available for purchase. The stamp set and coordinating dies WILL BE in the 21-22 Annual Catalog!
    • The sentiments come from Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set stamped in Memento Black ink on Basic White scraps. Card 1 is a banner strip 3/4 x about 3 1/4 and end punched with the Banners Pick a Punch. Card 2 sentiment is die cut with the Ornate Frames Dies.
    • I added Matte Black Dots on both butterflies: 5 on the larger and only 3 on the smaller.
    • Additionally, I added Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins on Card 1. On Card 2 I added three Opal Rounds.
    • I also added to Card 2 Terra Cotta Tile ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack: a tiny piece under the tail of the butterfly and the same ribbon back & forth behind the sentiment panel. This sentiment panel has a background from the same Butterfly Bijou 6×6 DSP and is on dimensionals.

Insides of both cards…

  • Card 1: Stamp the full butterfly stamp from the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set in Seaside Spray on a panel of Basic nWhite 4 x 5 1/4. Stamp the sentiment in Memento Black ink using the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set. Adhere to the inside.
  • Card 2: Adhere a 1/2 x 4 strip to a Basic White panel 4 x 5 1/4. Adhere to the inside.
  • Cards are now done!!!

For both envelopes I adhered a strip of card stock + DSP or 2 strips of DSP as shown – and these two are complete.
