I used the card base differently, scoring it at 2 3/4 & 5 1/2 and folding it as shown. I added a Basic White panel behind the vellum & added a Twine double bow, Wink of Stella to flower centers. On the inside, I cut a Garden Green then stamped a Basic White using stamps from the stamp set, Garden Green ink (supplied in the kit) and Daffodil Delight ink from my own stash for the stamped flowers. Stampin’ Up! Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

My June Paper Pumpkin (Welcome Inn) arrived earlier this week and I knew I wanted to use parts of it for this hop/ challenge. The colors of Night of Navy and Calypso Coral are such a wonderful combination. I added a background piece from the Subtles 6×6 in Calypso Coral.

Stampin' Up! Jun PP Alternative

As you can see, I turned the image sideways (again) to create my own version :O). The card base is from the June Paper Pumpkin kit – Night of Navy. The next layer is my addition – Subtles 6×6 in Calypso Coral (3 1/2 x 5). The floral Pattern is from the Paper Pumpkin kit as well and was added with dimensionals. The floral DSP is Countryside Inn, which this particular kit coordinates. and is 2 1/4 x 2 3/8 and adhered directly – except for the right side, which has dimensionals under it. The banner also comes from the klit and was added with dimensionals as well. The Night of Navy embellishments also come from the kit. Great alternative project, right?!

Stampin' Up! June PP Alternative, inside

For the inside, a Calypso Coral panel 4 18 x 5 38 was adhered to the base, then the Basic White panel was stamped: Night of Navy for the vase; Old Olive for the stems and Calypso Coral for the flowers – and yes… these were in the June PP kit!

Stampin' Up! June PP Alternative w/ envelope

The envelope is from the June PP kit and I chose to cover the flap with more of the Subtles 6×6 DSP in Calypso Coral & trimmed it to fit. Hope you likie!

Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Alternatives, Jan ’22

Happy Monday! New week, new day, new start to whatever. I like to think of it as a new beginning each day, a start-over. Gratitude, praise, thanks, then go… Howe do you like to start your day ~ besides with a cup of coffee or tea?

My Paper Pumpkin arrived the other day and since our grandkids are coming this weekend (it’s my birthday weekend:) I thought, what better time than now to put these adorable cards together & give them to our “Grands” to share with their classmates or teachers. So I set to work. I limited myself to additional Stampin’ Up! products as I needed to keep these simple. I chose Sweet Talk 12 x 12 DSP, Daffodil Afternoon 12 x 12 DSP and Gold Foil Sheets for decorative papers; the Heart Punch and the Scalloped Heart punch, Basic White, Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink card stocks + all the PP kit ingredients. So – lots of pictures in this post…

And a couple of photos of the inside of the alternative cards…

Additional inks used were Blushing Bride & Flirty Flamingo + the ink in the kit, Gray Granite. 17 cards in all ~ that’s a lot of cards with minimum product added to the Paper Pumpkin kit. Such a good deal – just sayin’. And these kits come monthly with each one different from the last. Some make cards, some are boxes or treats, it varies, which is kinda fun. This way a person doesn’t get bored :O) Now is a good time to join Paper Pumpkin too, ‘cuz prices increase just a bit as of Mar 1, 2022. And if you get the entire year subscription, that becomes a fixed price before Mar 1… Get your Paper Pumpkin, click here.

Stampin’ Up! PP Alternative

Hello! Welcome to today’s post. I’m sharing a Paper Pumpkin Alternative for the most recent kit. It coordinates with the Expressions In Ink bundle. I did not use that bundle for this card – but easily could have. The only product I used outside of the Paper Pumpkin kit was the Simply Elegant Trim in Silver and Basic White card stock.

PP Alternative.1

This is a notecard size card, meaning it is smaller than our standard size A2. Isn’t it pretty? Here’s what I did…

  • Trim apart one of the leaf designs in the Paper Pumpkin kit. I happened to use the green stems, which of course you cannot tell as they are turned over to the opposite side. 🙂
  • Adhere leaves with liquid glue to the card front provided in the kit.
  • Stamp the two sentiments from the kit using the Evening Evergreen ink spot. The bottom sentiment is done on a banner provided in the kit. The other is stamped on a Basic White scrap (3/4 x 2 1/4).
  • Add the PP card front to a Basic White panel with liquid glue. (3 3/8 x 4 7/8)
  • Wrap the Simply Elegant Trim in silver around the two layers and tie a bow. Secure with a glue dot.
  • Add dimensionals to the sentiment banners and adhere as shown.
  • Add dimensionals to the completed card front panel and add to the Evening Evergreen notecard in the PP kit.
PP Alternative.2

sweetFor the inside, stamp the sweet flower stamp included in the Paper Pumpkin kit with the Evening Evergreen ink spot – also in the kit, on a Basic White panel (3 3/8 x 4 7/8). Adhere to the inside of the notecard with liquid glue and this little notecard is complete.

PP Alternative.3

If you have seen my posts regularly, you know I decorate the envelopes too :O) This is aone of the notecard envelopes included in the PP kit. I stamped the flap using the ‘splotch’ stamp in the kit with the Evening Evergreen ink spot. I love this ‘splotch’! On the card front is the sweet flower again, also using the Evening Evergreen ink spot. And the card is ready to send – or give. Sweet, sweet. Love this PP kit!

You may subscribe to PP right here – just remember, it can be a month to month subscription, 3 month, and of course a yearly subscription. And… you can ‘pass’ on a month if it’s not exactly your thing. You can subscribe to the July PP kit until the 10th of this month – just days away.

Stampin’ Up! Jan. Paper Pumpkin Fun Fold~Alternative

Hello again! Snow is still on our ground. The neighbor kids were sliding down the hill behind us and WE had such fun watching. They were up and down dozens of times, and played until nearly dark. Ah youth 🤗

On the home front here, I created another Paper Pumpkin Alternative using the January kit called Sending Hearts. I used minimal additional supplies.

Jan. PP Alternative Fun Fold – #1

For the front of the card I used a Floral Heart Die to cut this lacy heart from Basic White card stock. I used a Basic White strip to fussy cut an arrow. Both were adhered with liquid glue. I then colored the sentiment from the kit with a Petal Pink Stampin Blend and adhered it with dimensionals.

Jan. PP Alternative Fun Fold n- #2

I have no idea what this fold is called, I just knew I wanted to try it! The inside is one of the kits card bases, trimmed 1/8″ on the long side and scored one inch on either side of the center fold. The center fold becomes the mountain and the other two the valley folds. Adhere one side first; close card and adhere other side ~ both done with liquid glue. I stamped the very cute snail in Memento Black ink and colored him with Light Smoky Slate Stampin Blends, then covered that with Wink of Stella. I also stamped the sentiment with the same Memento Black ink.

The center heart is one provided in the kit cut down to 3 x 3 1/4. I stamped the hearts from the stamp in the kit using Petal Pink ink, then covered all the solid hearts in Wink of Stella to give it a bit of glam. I colored one of the resin hearts from the kit using Poppy Parade Stampin Blends, added it to the upper right corner over one of the hearts. I then colored the Whisper White Crinkled Ribbon with Poppy Parade Stampin Blends, tied it in a bow and adhered with a glue dot. I mounted the panel on Poppy Parade 3 x 3 3/8 with liquid glue and it was ready to go into the card. It was mounted using liquid glue in the center of the card. And voila!

Jan PP Alternative Fun Fold #3

On the envelope I stamped the XOXO in Memento black ink and called the card done…. Love it when something comes together ~ and most of it from the monthly kit!!!

A couple of things to remember when using this kind of fold… The center panel must be no taller than the dimension from the fold to the edge of the DSP on the bottom of the card – or it will stick out beyond the top of the card… ask me how I know that!

Products for todays card are from the Paper Pumpkin subscription and the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog ~ and those products are available now for purchase. You will find them in the product list below. I have included Paper Pumpkin subscription options as well – so look closely if you are interested in that. Also, there is a listing for the Refill Kit for Sending Hearts. Stampin’ Up! Jan. Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

We got snow last night! Woohoo! I happen to like snow, so I enjoy it. This snow is pretty wet though. It’s a snow/ rain/ sleet mix, so kind of a funny snow. Fortunately we don’t have to be out driving around in it!

Today I have been playing with the January Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin kit and have so far created three alternatives. Here they are…

The only thing you really need to know is I trimmed the heart piece so it was a 3 1/4″ square. Other than that, I think you can easily figure what I did by just looking at the pictures. Here are the products I used in addition to the items in the kit.

  • Forever Greenery Ribbon Combo pack – gold cord
  • Shimmer Ribbon in Gray Granite
  • Smoky Slate card stock and Stampin Blends
  • Basic Black card stock & Tuxedo Black Memento ink
  • Petal Pink card stock, ink and Stampin Blends
  • Poppy Parade Stampin Blends
  • Wink of Stella
  • Basic Whiter card stock.

Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Beary Comforting Alternatives

Hello again – post Christmas but prior to New Years. How was your holiday? Different I bet… yep – ours too. I have to say, it was very relaxed, unrushed, and q-u-i-e-t. No scampering feet or shouts of joy – but we had a wonderful ZOOM conversation that was wonderful. And the family here with us made it a very comfortable day ~ we felt very loved and grateful… and still do.

Today’s post is more about Paper Pumpkin – ‘cuz my Beary Comforting December kit arrived and I couldn’t quit! It’s quite cute. I needed a LOT of birthday cards as mine was depleted ~ so that’s how I made them, as birthday cards.

Beary Comforting – Dec PP – alternative

Is this little guy cute or what! I substituted what was in the kit for this flower from one of the new stamp bundles available beginning Jan 5, 2021 – Art Gallery. I snipped off the leaves and just used the stem. After stamping on Whisper White card stock in Daffodil Delight, then the smaller ‘filler’ floral image in Calypso Coral ink, I covered it in Wink of Stella and die cut it with the coordinating dies. A little hint when coloring with Wink of Stella – it can sometimes move the ink around, which creates a blurry image. I didn’t want that, so I used individual brush strokes following the pattern of the stamped flower. – and it worked perfectly. The stem was stamped in Soft Sea Foam on Whisper White using the Art Gallery stamp set and die cut with the coordinating die. I removed the leaves with paper snipes as it overwhelmed the bear. The flour itself is on dimensionals, the stem is simply slipped under the already slit arm (Stampin’ Up! is so clear!) The stem is held in place with a dimensional on the back. Additional dimensionals were added to the bear and he was popped on the provided Rich Razzleberry background from the kit. And that panel was added to the card (provided in the kit) also on dimensionals. I added a gold cord bow from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack and Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins. I then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set and die cut it with a fun-edged die from the coordinating die set. I mounted this on dimensionals and called the card done.

Here’s a peek at some of the others I did. Additional products used for those cards were the Art Gallery Bundle, Many Messages Bundle, the Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins and Holiday Rhinestone Jewels. I still have more cards to make from the kit but I’m not ready to post those yet – another day!

Beary Comforting – December PP – alternative sayings

One of the cards on the provided Calypso Coral card stock – I put on an angle to make it look as though they were on a teeter totter. Remember those? Oh my goodness, hours of fun! These are so great as they are perfect for adults and kids. So much comes in the kit each month: you can make additional cards with leftover product, combining it with some of your own card stock. :O)

Thanks for stopping by – fun to chat with you today. If you want the January PP, it must be ordered PRIOR to Jan 10!

Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Leftovers

Sometimes when we make our Paper Pumpkin kits, there are left overs, remains, pieces. Yesterday I was doing a little tidying (and boy did it need it!) and came across the November PP box. Inside were some parts to the kit, not many, but my mind clicked and I made one more Christmas card. Here it is…

November PP leftovers

Recognize those flowers? I really like how this turned out… Crumb Cake card base & layer, ‘Tis the Season 6×6 DSP, Square Vellum Doilies, the flowers, Cherry Cobbler Linen Thread from the kit, Whisper White banner and the foil sentiment from the kit ~ three major items from the kit made this card! I’m pleased as punch. 😏

I began with the Crumb Cake card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. I had another piece of Crumb Cake card stock handy (4 x 5 1/4) and ran it through the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it with liquid glue to the card front. Next I took one of the papers in ‘Tis the Season 6×6 DSP and cut it to a bit larger than the Square Vellum Doily (3 1/4 square). I adhered the vellum to the paper with Stampin Seal. Next I added the two flowers left over from the November Paper Pumpkin kit – on dimensionals, and covered just the flower in Wink of Stella. Between them is a several looped bow using the Cherry Cobbler Linen Thread from the kit, adhered with a glue dot. I cut a Whisper White banner 5/8 x about 4 3/4 and trimmed the ends with the Banner Pick a Punch. To this I added the foil sentiment piece – again from the November PP kit – with tiny dots of liquid glue. The banner was adhered to the flowers with liquid glue. This whole 3 1/4″ square was adhered to the Crumb Cake card with dimensionals – and the front was complete. OH! I did add three Wonderful Gems to the banner :}

Although I forgot to take a picture (and the card is mailed already!) for the inside, I had a panel of Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4 stamped in Just Jade ink with a portion of one of the sentiments from the Joy to the World stamp set from the November Paper Pumpkin kit. This was adhered with liquid glue to the inside of the card. For the envelope, I simply took another piece of the ‘Tis the Season 6×6 DSP (2 1/2 x 6) and adhered it to the envelope flap & trimmed to fit. I stamped the word ‘Joy’ from the Joy to the World stamp set in Just Jade ink and the card/ envelope were done.

November PP leftovers

The January Paper Pumpkin kit is available to order through Jan 10, 2021, so think about it, just not too long! Below are more details about that kit. Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Hello All! Today’s post is all about Paper Pumpkin, primarily the May ’20 PP. The colors in this kit show off the new In Colors: Bumblebee, Cinnamon, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Misty Midnight. I really like the names AND the colors themselves – together, well, not so much 😏. Included in the kit was a new ink spot from the new In Color Misty MidnightLet’s take a look…

This first card is made just as suggested…

Card #2 is similar, except I cut it apart vertically in various widths and mounted it on Magenta Madness cs. Everything else is the same.

Card 3 I cut apart again making various sizes of squares. They didn’t fit together quite the way I wanted (ugh!) Again I mounted the squares on Magenta Madness. I used a sentiment from Silhouette Scenes.

Card 4 wasn’t cut at all, simply mounted on the Magenta Madness and put on dimensionals, again using the sentiment from Silhouette Scenes.

The second set of cards I chose to do was a bit more of a challenge and I made not one the way it was suggested. Card 5…  I removed the card front and cut it in fourths, adhered to Misty Madness cs and mounted on dimensionals, adhering to Thick Whisper White cs. I cut a 1 1/2″ banner from the In Color 2020-2021 6 x 6 DSP using the Triple Banner Punch and adhered to the vellum banner that was part of the kit. I trimmed the vellum banner point to match. I stamped a sentiment on a  1 1/4″ banner from Silhouette Scenes stamp set and adhered that to the same banner. I wrapped the Ruched Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Ribbon around and tied a knot, adhering with a glue dot. The full banner then got dimensionals and was placed as you see it.

Card 6 was done similarly except… I placed a 1/2″ strip in the middle from the In Color 2020-2021 6×6 DSP pack (new and available Jun 3), included the vellum panel from the kit, cut a label from Tasteful Labels Dies (new in catalog and available Jun 3) in the In Color 6×6 DSP pack and adhered in the center with dimensionals. I cut another label from the same die set (this is an awesome die set folks!), stamped the sentiment using the ink spot Misty Midnight from the Well Said stamp set. (Father’s Day is JUST around the corner and I thought this could be a fun masculine card)This was adhered to the blue label with dimensionals. I added three 2020-2021 n Color Enamel Dots

Card 7 I got a bit more creative and decided a lighthearted Father’s Day card would be fun. I again removed the card front, then used the Balloon Punch to create two balloons. Using the colors in the stripes, I punched additional balloons from Bumblebee cs, Misty Midnight and Pumpkin Pie. I stamped the sentiment on various balloons using the Well Said stamp set. Special Someone stamp set was used to create the rest of the card: tails on the balloons, the raccoon (Soft Suede), the mouse (Smokey Slate). The little embellishments were included in the kit. I added a banner at the bottoms from leftover parts of the card front. This Whisper White got dimesnionals and adhered to Misty Midnight card base.

Card 8 and I went a little crazy over the top…  There were left overs from the previous card front so I cut it down to make a square (about 3″), adhered that to a Misty Midnight scallop square cut from the Squares Dies and adhered this to a Bumblebee 3 1/2 x 7 panel (scored at 3 1/2). I used a section of the card front for the inside that shows a bit of the colors where I removed the card front 😉

Using a Misty Midnight card base, I adhered a panel 4 x 5 1/2 from the 2020-2021 In Color 6×6 pack to the card front . I then adhered the Bumblebee piece all the way to the top of the fold with liquid glue. I stamped a sentiment from the Dressed to Impress stamp set to a piece of Whisper White and cut a banner from the Tasteful Labels Dies (did I say I love these dies?). I adhered one of the fun embellishments from the PP kit to the banner, added dimensionals and adhered to this Bumblebee panel. For the bottom of this card, I stamped another sentiment from the Dressed to Impress stamp set using the included ink spot and cut it using another banner from the Tasteful Labels Dies. I stamped the show in Melon Mambo, colored in with Wink of Stella to give it some glimmer and fussy cut it and adhered to this banner with liquid glue. This banner was added to the card with dimensionals. Again, more embellishments from the PP kit.

Since this card was made with someone special in mind, I wanted lots of room to write something. I simply adhered another of the leftover pieces from the removed card front to a Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4. This was adhered with liquid glue and this card was now complete.
