Stampin’ Up! Sunflower Embossing Folder – Off-set Gatefold Sympathy Card

Good morning – it’s Friday and I have two cards for you this morning using the debossed side of paper run through this fabulous Sunflower 3D embossing folder. And, it’s an off-set gatefold card. In a traditional gatefold card, both closing sides are the same width; this off-set means one side (the right side in this case) is more narrow. Let’s take a peek…

Stampin' Up! Sunflower 3D offset gatefold card front
Stampin' Up! Offset gatefold Sunflower 3D card front

The card on the left is made with a Bubble Bath card base, embossed Basic White card stock, and Bubble Bath ink. The card on the right is made with Fresh Freesia card stock and a layer of embossed Fresh Freesia sprinkled with WOW! Metallic Embossing Powder in silver and heat set with the heat tool. It gives this card a real element of elegance. The sentiment on each card is from the Everday Greetings stamp set die cut with the Tailor Made Tags Dies. White Basic Twine was run through the hole in the tag and tied into a bow. The tag was adhered with dimensionals to the larger side of the card front.

For the inside of the card… I had started with a 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White panel to emboss with the Sunflower Embossing folder. After inking the debossed side, I trimmed it down and there was a narrow remaining piece – which I adhered to the Basic White insert. I also stamped the sentiment: Bubble Bath for the first card and Fresh Freesia for the second. These were adherred and the cards were complete.

For the envelope… I took another strip of Basic White, ran it through the Sunflower 3D embossing folder, inked the debossed side: again, Bubble Bath ink for the first card and Fresh Freesia for the second card. For the second card I again sprinkled it with WOW! Metallic embossing powder in silver and heat set it. Each was adhered to a Basic White envelope and trimmed to fit. Card cuts are listed below.

Just a word about inking an embossed panel… if you saw yesterday’s post, it indicated a 45 degree angle when running the ink pad along the embossed piece. For these cards, the angle was more like a 20 degree angle and I liked it much better. Practice, right?!

Card cuts:

  • Card bass 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored on long side @ 1 1/4 & 5 1/2
  • Embossed layer 4 x 5 1/4 trimmed to 2 7/8 x 5 14, 1 x 5 1/4, remainder used for inside
  • Basic White for inside 4 x 5 1/4
  • Envelope flap 2 1/4 x 6, adhered & trimmed to fit

Stampin’ Up! Side Flap Tuck Fun Fold

Hello crafters! I’ve a new fun fold for you today that I found on the Internet and had to give it a try. It has different names but this is what I’m calling it. 😀

Stampin' Up! Side Flap Tuck fun fold card front

I used Balmy Blue for my card base, embossing one of the pieces and another for the tucked in flap. The Berry Burst color comes from the Celebration Express Memories & More Pack and the sentiment from Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephmera Pack. The stamped flower, stem &N leaves is from the Impressions Abloom stamp set, And the embossing is Glass Garden Embossing Folder (this contains two embossing folders!) The stamped flower is fist stamped off Balmy Blue ink, then the second step is full strength Balmy Blue. The flower center is Lemon Lolly – again a two-step stamp using the same stamped-off procedure as for the flower. The stem & leaf are Soft Sea Foam, following the same two-step for the leaf. Additional pieces were used from the Celebration Expressions Memories & More Card Pack for the strip on the inside of the card, the strip on the inside of the flap and the envelope flap. Card cuts will be listed below.

Stampin' Up! Side Flap Tuck card & envelope

Step by step…

  • Balmy Blue card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4. Remove 2 1/8 x 5 1/2 from front and trim down to 1 3/4 x 5 1/8 (emboss this panel)
  • Add lBerry burst layer to embossed panel 1 7/8 x 5 1/4 – set aside
  • Cut another panel of Balmy Blue 1 1/4 x 3 1/4 and score on long side at 1/2 (this panel can be wider, depending on how you plan your inside, but the 1/2 score remains the same. Burnish.
  • Add this to the card base approximately 5/8″ from bottom of card back with the fold even with edge (again, depending on the plan for the inside of the card, this placement can be higher but should not be lower)
  • Add Berry Burst layer to inside of card base 4 x 5 1/4
  • Add decorative layer to back side of flap 1 1/2 x 2 3/4 (remember that if the flap is wider, this layer should also be 1/4″ wider)
  • Add Basic White panel for stamping 3 3/4 x 5
  • On this card I added a decorative strip behind the flap approximately 5/8 x 4
  • Stamp the inside: Here I used the Impressions Abloom stamp set
  • Add embossed + layer to left side of front panel with dimensionals… placement is important in order to tuck the flap in between dimensionals: dimensionals should be near bottom of panels to be attached, at top & at least 1/2″ from where flap tucks in.
  • Tuck in flap & add sentiment to tucked in flap. This sentiment is on dimensionals and is from the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephmera Pack.
Stampin' Up! Side Tuck Flap Fun Fold card & envelope

For the envelope… Using the Celebration Expressions Memories & More Card Pack, I chose a coordinating piece to add to the envelope flap & trimmed it to fit. Done.. and ready to send to someone special. This card is going to a fellow teammate who needs a pick me up :O) I’m hoping she will love it.

Thanks so much for stopping by. May you have a beautiful day!

Stampin’ Up! Prairie Grass & Blending Brushes

Hello Monday! It’s hot here again in NJ – up to 93 today with very high humidity – not a day for being outside much. Guess I’ll just have to play in my stamp room – after doing chores of course 😀

Stampin' Up! Prairie Grass card front

Prairie Grass is a fairly new stamp set for me and I am loving the grasses and the fonts for the sentiments. It’s an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE stamp set. I got out my Blending Brushes and a couple of inks and went to work… Misty Moonlight and a hint of Secret Sea for the sky then Lemon Lime Twist for the lower portion. I stamped the grasses in Secret Sea. I used my color wheel to bring in a contrasting color – Melon Mambo ink for the sentiment – and yes, it comes from the Prairie Grass stamp set. I die cut it with Spotlight On Nature Dies, put it on dimensionals and added it to the card front. I used the Low Profile Sparkle Dots in Secret Sea for a bit of glam. These come from the Perfectly Pear suite of products. This front panel was added to Melon Mambo then adhered to the Secret Sea card base.

Stampin' Up! Prairie Grass card inside

For the inside… I again used the Lemon Lime Twist and a Blending Brush to add color to the bottom of the Basic White. I then stamped one of the grasses in Secret Sea ink. I adhered two triangles in corners for a background border, bringing in the color from the front of the card. I gives a very modern look.

Stampin' Up! Prairie Grass card & envelope

For the envelope… I again added Lemon Lime Twist with my Blending Brush to the front, then stamped full strength the tallest grass, then stamped twice more without reinking – with Secret Sea ink. On the flap I added Misty Moonlight and a bit of Secret Sea with a Blending Brush.

See how to order these products below.

Cards cuts are as follows:

  • Card base – Secret Sea 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Layer Melon Mambo 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 (front), 2 x 2 cut on diagonal (inside)
  • Basic White 4 x 5 12/4 (front, 3 3/4 x 5 (inside), 2″ scrap for circle die cut

Stampin’ Up! Sweeter With You Paper Pumpkin Alternates 2, 3

Hello stampin’ friends – today is Saturday and I am again sharing Paper Pumpkin alternatives with you. And I guess one of the things I want you to consider is that these projects/ alternatives can be applied to other Stampin’ Up products – NOT JUST Paper Pumpkin!

This card uses one of the card bases in the kit & is very similar to what the kit suggests. I used Strawberry Slush ink for the sentiment and added Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink Gems on the card front. On the inside, I stamped the strawberries in Poppy Parade (a coordinating color recommended by the kit) and Granny Apple Green ink for the top on a Basic White panel and adhered it to Strawberry Slush.

Stampin' Up! July 2025 PP Alternate 3
Stampin' Up! July 2025

This card uses an original card base & another which I cut up and is a fun fold. It’s a tucked in offset gatefold. The additional supplies for this card are the red & White Bakers Twine, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight inks. In addition, I used more of the strawberry card front to cover the flap of a medium envelope. And look at the last photo to see how the offset gatefold tucks in.

Stampin' Up!

Hopefully you can see how it fold in, slipping it under the circle.

Circle of Season Dies

Stampin’ Up! Diagonal DSP Just a Note

Good morning Friends… NJ has had a couple of days respite from the heat – a drop of 30 degrees to the 70’s! These are welcome temperatures! Today’s card is made with the new In Colors Secret Sea and Cloud Cover – and could be duplicated using all the new In Colors.

Stampin' Up! 2025-2027 DSP Diagonal card front

I began with the 2025-2027 In Color 6×6 DSP cut 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 and cut it on the diagonal, then turned the pieces 90 degrees holding them together, to cut on the other diagonal. (NOTE: This works with DSP that has a reverse side that is coordinating in color/ pattern, not conflicting. So choose carefully 😀) After cutting the DSP, decide which sections should be primary showing the pattern desired. Here I chose the left and right panels to be dominant and simply turned the other two panels to the reverse side. These were adhered to Basic White cut 4 x 5 1/4, dimensionals added to the back and attached to a Cloud Cover card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. On the front I added a length of 3/8″ Faux Linen Ribbon with Stampin’ Seal. Using the Mixed Labels Dies, I cut two labels, the larger in Secret Sea, the smaller in Basic White. I stamped the sentiment using the Mixed Labels stamp set in Secret Sea ink. I layered the two together with adhesive, popped dimensionals across the back on top & bottom and adhered it over the ribbon. The final touch was adding several 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls in Cloud Cover.

Stampin' Up! DSP Diagonal card inside

For the inside… simple… a 1/2 x 4 strip of the same 25-27 In Color DSP as used on the card front, and attached to the side of a Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 panel

Stampin' Up! DSP Diagonal card & envelope

For the envelope, more of the 25-27 In Color DSP on the flap trimmed to fit. On the front, using Cloud Cover ink and an image in the Mixed Labels stamp set, I stamped twice on the lower left corner. This gives a completed look and could even be used as a masculine card, despite the flowers.

See below for ways to purchase the products to make this card.

Stampin’ Up! Cutest Onsie Baby Boy Card

Hello Sunday! We are slated to have a pretty nice day today – after a drenching rain yesterday that we desperately needed. Those fires in South Jersey did not affect us personally, but they weren’t far. Lots of businesses destroyed & 15,000 acres burned. We needed this rain to put out remaining hot spots on the forests floor. Sigh.

Today’s card is about new life – a baby boy – and I’ve used the carrying over Cutest Onsie Bundle to make it, and Balmy Blue.

Stampin' Up! Cutest Onsie Bundle card front

I began with by stamping a Balmy Blue panel (4 x 5 1/4) with these cute ‘clouds’ (think dreamy 🙂 and Balmy Blue ink. I then stamped the ‘onsie’ with Memento ink and with a Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends, colored the neck, sleeves and bottom edges. I also stamped the star in Memento ink. I die cut the onsie and set it aside. Next I stamped the sentiment on two pieces of Lemon Lolly card stock, inking just a portion of the sentiment for each stamping. It was stamped in Azure Afternoon ink I adhered the strips with liquid glue then paced the onsie on dimensionals and overlaid the strips The embellishments are Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems in Lemon Lolly. This panel was adhered to Basic White 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 then attached to a card base of Balmy Blue (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4) with dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Cutest Onsie inside card

For the inside of the card, I stamped the onsie with Memento ink on a piece of Subtles 6×6 DSP (Balmy Blue of course) and while die cutting, I also die cut the pocket for the onsie. I adhered it directly to the Basic White inset (4 x 5 1/4) then stamped the sentiment in Azure Afternoon ink and the hearts too. This was attached to the inside of Balmy Blue card base for the completed card.

Stampin' Up! Cutest Onsie card & envelope

For the envelope, more of the Subtles 6×6 DSP in Balmy Blue was added to the flap and trimmed to fit. This added touch just unifies every project – love this! And there ya go… a baby boy card for a new little one.

All the items for today’s card are in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog, which you may find in my store by – Clicking here to go to my store – and be sure to visit the LAST CHANCE PRODUCTS and the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES too. Stampin’ Up! DSP Fun Fold

Good Saturday morning! It is crisp this morning on the East coast, which made for a beautiful walk. For my card this morning, I’m using a retired DSP as the fun fold part and DSP from the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog. It made for a fun creation.

Stampin' Up! DSP Fun Fold

The retired DSP is Joy of Christmas 12×12 and the birds are directly die cut from the Nests of Winter 12×12 DSP using the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. The birds are dimensionals on a Basic White banner die cut from the Greetings of the Season Dies. The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler Satin Ribbon. Now let’s open the card to see what’s inside.

Stampin' Up! DSP Fun Fold inside

The Basic White panel is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and comes from the Greetings of the Season stamp set – so I used the bundle on this card. The pine frond on this panel is a Shaded Spruce die cut from the Golden Greenery Dies. The larger pine branch is a die cut from the Graceful Greenery Vellum using a matched die from the Golden Greenery Dies. And because it’s vellum and see through, I added a Basic White behind it, die cut with the same die. Now let’s open this the other way to see the other side of the DSP.

Stampin' Up! DSP Fun fold, reverse side

I added this beautiful die cut in Basic White – just cuz – the panel needed something more. This also comes from the Golden Greenery Dies. And in this photo, you can see the DSP is adhered to a Cherry Cobbler base. For the measurements and card cuts, see below.

Want to remake this card? The Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog has lots of choices of 12×12 DSP that can be used. See all the items in that catalog here. Remember when shopping with me to use my host code and make sure my name is listed as your demonstrator. If your order is $50 or more, I like to send a little giftie of a stampin’ Up! item valued up to $10 and you will also receive a copy of the monthly tutorial :O). If your order is over $150, don’t use the HOST CODE as Stampin’ Up! has it’s own rewards, but I will still send that valued item & the monthly tutorial. Joining my team will afford you the opportunity to view & play with products before being sold to the public. Join with me here for more fun. Need more information? Let me help.
