Stampin’ Up! Easy Fun Fold

Hello Saturday! I have a super easy fun fold today made with the gorgeous Awash In Beautfy DSP and the Teacup Dies.

Easy Fun Fold.1

To make this card…

  • Cut Card base (Balmy Blue) 5 1/2 x 7 and score on the long side at 4 1/4
  • Cut another piece of Balmy Blue 4 x 4 & score on one side at 1″. This becomes the fold-over flap
  • Decorate the card base front: Awash in Beauty DSP cut 2 1/2 x 5 1/4
  • Fold this area back and decorate it with another panel of Awash in Beauty 2 1/2 x 5 14 (see photo 2)
Easy Fun Fold.2
  • Cut panel of Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 for inside, stamp in Balmy Blue ink the sentiment from Cup of Tea stamp set. Add ‘fold-over flap with liquid glue, adhering close to the burnished fold line of the 4 x 4 piece, centering it. Add to inside of card.
  • Decorate fold-over flap:
    • Awash in Beauty DSP cut 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 adhered to front of flap.
    • Stamp the flower stems from Cup of Tea stamp set on a Basic White piece approx. 2 x 2 1/4 in Pear pizzazz ink. Die cut with Teacup Dies. Stamp flowers from Cup of Tea stamp set in Merry Merlot ink and die cut with Teacup Dies. Set these aside
    • Die cut tea cup from another piece of Awash in Beauty (pink)
    • Die cut decorative pattern for tea cup in Basic White & add to pink tea cup.
    • Add die cut leaves to fold-over front, then flowers, some on dimensionals some with liquid glue.
    • Add tea cup on dimensionals
    • Decorate flowers with Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Add more Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to left front of card and voila! Card is done. :O)
Easy Fun Fold.3

For the envelope, add a 2 1/4 x 6 piece of Awash in Beauty DSP to the flap; stamp the sentiment from Cup of Tea stamp set in Balmy Blue.

Easy Fun Fold.4

Here’s another photo of the card/ envelope with the card held closed.

Easy Fun Fold.5

I do hope you will try this super easy fun fold. You can change the size of the fold-over flap to make it cover more of the card front, but still maintain the 1″ score line to adhere to the Basic White panel. Instead of 4 x 4, make it 4 1/2 x 4 1/2. Let me know how either one works for you. 😀

Stampin’ Up! Sneaky Peek w/ Botanical Layers Bundle

Good Tuesday everyone! The 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and ordering will soon be available to absolutely everyone… yay! I DO hope you will like the new In Colors. Personally, I really, really like them. And today’s card shows off a couple of them: Starry Night and Parakeet Party, oh and Orchid Oasis. The Designer Series Paper I used is more new issue: In Color 6×6 in Starry Night, Sun Prints 12 x 12 and of course the vellum is Lovely Layers Vellum (part of the Botanical Layers Bundle). There are a couple of other new products on the card as well: 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots – Orchid Oasis and Metallic Woven Ribbon in Parakeet Party. WooHoo! If you have a catalog already, take a peek at pg. 93 for my inspiration. Love the color combination!

Botanical Layers.1

I began with a card base of Starry Night card stock and adhered a panel of the 6 x 6 DSP Assortment in Starry Night. I then cut a piece of Sun Prints 12 x 12 (there are some gorgeous patterns in the pack!) and adhered it cockeyed, intentionally :O) I stamped the leaf design from the Botanical Layers stamp set in Orchid Oasis ink, kind of a purpley blue and heat set it with the heat tool to help it dry.It WILL dry on it’s own, but it will take a bit and I didn’t want to wait. I die cut the leaves from the Meadow Dies (coordinates with Quiet Meadow stamp set) and Basic White card stock then used a Blending Brush and Pale Papaya ink to gently add color. I also die cut the butterfly from the same Meadows Dies and Pale Papaya card stock then used the same Blending Brush to add more color to the butterfly. I added the white branch of leaves to the card with glue dots. I stamped the additional leaves on a Basic White piece in Parakeet Party ink and fussy cut it. This was an easy process by the way… I added this over the white leaves with dimensionals. I cut a length of Parakeet Party Metallic Ribbon and slipped it under the green leaves, adhering with a glue dot. I stamped the sentiment from the Botanical Layers stamp set in Orchid Oasis ink and trimmed the Basic White strip as you see it. A single dimensional under the right section of the sentiment and a dab of liquid glue on the left adhered it to the card. Two final touches: add the butterfly with mini dimensionals, then add the 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots in Orchid Oasis. And the card front is complete.

Botanical Layers.1

For the inside I stamped the leaves in Orchid Oasis ink using the Botanical Layers stamp set, then added a strip of the 6×6 DSP Assortment in Starry Night to the bottom of the Basic White panel. This was added to the inside of the card and voila – the inside was also complete.

Botanical Layers.2

For the envelope, I stamped the leaves in Parakeet Party ink on the front of the envelope using the Botanical Layers stamp set. To the flap I added 6×6 DSP Assortment in Parakeet Party and trimmed it to fit. Done, done!

Botanical Layers.3

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hello one and all! Welcome to the talented Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! It’s always fun to meet a sketch challenge and I turned the sketch to make this card.

Brilliant Wings Die.1

And here’s our sketch…

I started with this beautiful butterfly… using a Blending Brush and various inks (Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Pear Pizzazz) I colored a Basic White piece then die cut the butterfly (Brilliant Wings Dies) from that panel and again from Vellum. I then layered those butterflies together with Stampin’ Seal. With a panel of Basic White 3 x 5 1/2 and using my Stamparatus to make certain the sentiment was straight and centered and placing the butterfly in the approximate position but not adhering it, I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point ink (after removing the butterfly!). That sentiment comes from the Through It Together stamp set. I then added the butterfly with liquid glue. Notice I left the wings and the antennae free :O)

The next step was the create the card base itself: Thick Basic White cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. Add strips of Coastal Cabana about 1/4″ from each edge, then another strip of Pacific Point. Add the butterfly panel and the final touch are the lovely Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels. (These can be purchased as part of the Waves Collection right now ~ and only available while supplies last., They will NOT be in the 2022 – 2023 Annual Catalog.) As you can see there are several shades of jewels and I mixed them up because of the butterfly.

Brilliant Wings Dies.2

The envelope got special treatment with a piece of Abstract Beauty 4 x 6 DSP adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit. I stamped the butterfly right on the DSP using the Butterfly Brilliance stamp. First I inked with Coastal Cabana, then picked up the Pacific Point and inked just the lower wings. You could easily do this with a sponge dauber but I was lazy and just used the ink pad.

Brillance Wings Dies.3

After cleaning the stamp I repeated the process of inking the butterfly with Coastal Cabana then tapping the lower wings with Pacific Point. and stamped the front of the envelope.

Brilliance Wings Dies.4

This card has a lot of white space and I’m not used to making cards like this, but I like it ~ it’s simple and elegant. For all the products used in today’s card and more information about current happenings in Stampin’ Up!, scroll down below the names :O)

Stampin’ Up! Heart & Home Part 2

Good morning! I’ve created another super easy card for you using the Heart & Home Memories & More Card Pack + Cards & Envelopes. I DID add some die cutting elements to the card using the Pierced Bloom Dies. Abstract Beauty 4 x 6 Specialty DSP is also a part of the mini card front. Let’s take a look…

Heart & Home Part 2.1

The large card base is from the Heart & Home Mem’ries & More Cards & Envelopes, as is the wood grain piece :O) – so this is two cards in one. And the lovely die cuts add a nice element of dimension and pull in the colors of the flowers in the Abstract Beauty SDSP. The flower & flower center were die cut from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper that I had created earlier. You can see that post here. Below is the colored panel. The leaf die cut is from Just Jade card stock. The background panel for the SDSP is Crushed Curry.

Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper

The inside of the front card is two of the stickers from the Heart & Home Mem’ries & More Card Pack.

Heart & Home Part 2, front inside

And the inside of the card… another panel of the Heart & Home Mem’ries & More Card Pack trimmed down just a bit & adhered to a slightly larger panel of Crushed Curry, then attached to the card base.

Heart & Home Part 2, inside

The envelope got another couple of die cuts using the Pierced Bloom Dies plus one of the stickers from Heart & Home Mem’ries & More Card Pack.

Heart & Home Part 2

As yesterdays card (you can see that here), there is no sentiment added, making this super versatile: thank you, birthday, just a note, hello ~ you name it. I appreciate having versatility in a card and, this will be part of a gift set for someone special.

Products to make this card are listed below so feel free to order away :O) If you do not have a demonstrator and need an Annual Catalog please reach out to me – happy to send one to you. AND… I have the Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog and can send that as well! When ordering, please also use current host code: Y4NW3AK. Stampin’ Up! Heart & Home Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

AHA – it’s St Patrick’s Day! I have a wee bit of Irish in me :O) What tricks shall we pull on folks today? It is truly the wearin’ of the green (or orange). It’s also Blog Hop Day for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. Let’s get to it. Here’s my card…

Heart & Home Mem’ries & More 3/17.1

And here’s our sketch challenge.

Yep – you can easily see I turned the challenge upside down :O) This card was amazingly simple ~ with the Heart & Home Memories & More Cards & Envelopes PLUS the Heart & Home Card Pack – bing, bang, boom and it was done. I simply added a panel of Garden Green card stock behind the floral panel & placed that on dimensionals on the card front. I trimmed another of the ‘cards’ in the card pack for the dotted piece, then peeled a sticker to put on top of it. I die cut the beautiful border in Pale Papaya card stock with one of the Scalloped Contour Dies, added it behind the dotted strip, put dimensionals on each end and placed it on the panel.I added a sweet Open Weave Ribbon bow in Pale Papaya to tie it all together (😁), then added three Genial Gems for a bit of glam. And the card front was done!

Heart & Home Mem’ries & More, inside

For the inside I took a larger coordinating card from the pack, trimmed it down a bit and adhered Garden Green behind it, then added to the card inside – done! I’ve chosen not to include any sentiments on this card as I wanted it to be very versatile. This can be used for just about anything ~ and I love that about it.

Heart & Home Mem’ries & More w/ envelope

For the envelope I peeled two more stickers from the Heart & Home Memories & More Card Pack and placed them appropriately on the front. This gives the card just enough to take away the plainness and make it special. I cannot wait to make more of these as a gift to someone. :O)

Flowering Fields DSP Just a Note

Happy Monday! It’s bright & sunshiny here today, but brrrr cold. I hope you had a cozy weekend, a time to relax and a time to play with maybe just a little bit of work mixed in – balance. It’s all about balance, isn’t it?

Today’s card is another using this fabulous tulip pattern from the Flowering Fields 12 x 12 DSP pack. I really like this pattern and well, I just needed to create with it again. :O) This is such a fun layout and a post by Amy Koenders way back in November inspired me. Yesterday I posted a card made with this same pattern of DSP but bordered with Poppy Parade. Today I’ve used Pear Pizzazz and it gives the DSP a different look. The background paper is from this same pack, just not the flowery side 🙂 Here are the details…

Flowering Fields Just a note.1`
  • Prepare a card base (Pear Pizzazz) 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
  • Cut a panel of Flowering Fields DSP 3 1/2 x 4 3/4; cut in half lengthwise; cut right half 1 3/4 x 1 3/4, then 1 3/4 x 2 3/4
  • Adhere pieces to Pear Pizzazz: 1 7/8 x 4 7/8; 1 7/8 x 1 7/8; 1 7/8 x 2 7/8. Put dimensionals on back and adhere, large left panel first, the the right pieces.
  • Slip a length of Crinkled Seam Binding in White behind the lower panels and tie a bow, securing at the knot with a glue dot.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Flowing Flowers stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink on a Basic White strip; trim right end at an angle; put dimensionals on back and add over the ribbon.
  • For a final bit of bling, add three Opal Rounds ~ and the card front is done!
Flowering Fields w/ Flowering Rain Boots, inside

For the inside…

  • Stamp the leaves from Flowering Rain Boots in Pear Pizzazz ink on a post it note & fussy cut to create a mask – set aside
  • Stamp the leaves from Flowering Rain boots in Pear Pizzazz in on a Basic White panel 4 x 5 1/4
  • Lay the mask on top of the leaves and stamp the flower pot in Calypso Coral ink, again using the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set
  • Stamp the flower tops in Poppy Parade ink, making sure to only stamp the needed flower heads. And yes, these are from Flowering Rain Boots stamp set.
  • Using a Stamparatus for proper alignment, stamp the sentiment from Flowing Flowers stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink.
  • Add panel to the inside of the card with liquid glue.

For the envelope….

Flowering Fields Just a Note.3

All I did to the envelope is simply add the same Flowering Fields 12 x 12 DSP that I used for the background on the front of the card, to the envelope flap ~ and it’s ready for mailing! If the mailman hasn’t arrived yet, this will go to a friend who just had a knee replacement. She loves a handmade card!

So, what do you think? Like this card? Or do you prefer yesterday’s card? Here it is for a comparison.

Flowering Fields B’day

Interesting how similar and yet different these two cards are, just by using different coordinating card stock and some trimming. Would love to know if you have a preference between the two.

SU! Boho Indigo Product Medley

Hi Everyone… did you miss me yesterday? I made a card and it got snatched up by another member of the household and SENT!  No photos to show for it… but it got out in record time so I’ll have to make something similar another day. For today, I’m using the best ever BOHO INDIGO PRODUCT MEDLEY. Love, love, love – just sayin’. I’m not usually ‘into’ the medleys, but this one is fantabulous!!!

Boho Indigo Product Medley
#1

Classy, right? Blue/ Very Vanilla sparkle on their own, then adding the Magenta Madness for a couple of flowers and POP. In addition to the Boho Indigo Product Medley, additional products were Stitched Rectangles Dies, Linen Thread, Misty Moonlight ink/ cs, Magenta Madness ink, Pear Pizzazz ink, Very Vanilla  cs and  Crumb Cake cs for the card base. I could probably stop right there and you could figure out the rest… 😏 … but I’ll give a few more details ‘cuz someone just may want them.

Boho Indigo Product Medley
#2

  • Boho Indigo Product Medley
  • Crumb Cake card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.

Stampin’ Up Painted Poppies and Poppy Moments Dies

We have had this delightfully cool weather this week but it is coming to an end with rain expected today followed by hot, hot air. Ugh – I really enjoy having our windows and doors open, hearing God’s creatures sing me awake in the mornings. There is a peace about it that soothes my soul.

Do you remember how I tend to gravitate toward tone-on-tone cards? Today’s is like that with a splash of color that really makes it pop. Have a look…

Painted Poppies
Poppy Moments Dies
#1

Gorgeous isn’t it? Or maybe stunning is the right word. At any rate, you are going to be delightfully pleased at how simple it is.

Supplies needed:

  • Ornate Layers Dies
  • Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder
  • Poppy Moments Dies
  • Painted Poppies stamp set
  • All Dressed Up Dies (label for sentiment)
  • 2020-2022 In Color Magenta Madness 6×6 DSP (envelope flap)
  • 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots – Just Jade
  • Magenta Madness cs
  • Just Jade cs
  • Whisper White & Thick Whisper White
  • Vellum
  • Basic Black cs
  • Stazon Black ink

Take a Whisper White 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 panel and the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, run it through the die cutting/ embossing machine Using the large rectangle die in the Ornate Layers Dies, die cut that panel. So, so pretty. Adhere it to the Thick Whisper White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 card base with the Stampin Seal.

Take a scrap of vellum (about 3 1/2″ square) and die cut the larger poppy from Poppy Moments Dies. Now die cut in Magenta Madness the outline of that same poppy. Adhere together just in the center with liquid glue. Die cut a center out of Basic Black cs and adhere with liquid glue. (I intentionally used the smallest die for this, but there are at least two other dies that would be appropriate. The choice is yours, which is half the fun!)

Die cut leaves from the Poppy Moments Dies out of Just Jade – I did three. These are very delicate leaves and I like to have them a bit loose on a card, less structured, more like nature. Adhere with liquid glue on just a few leaves. TIP: Because the background of the poppy is vellum and see-through, I didn’t want the stems & leaves really showing through. Therefore, when adhering I simply hid them behind a section of the Magenta Madness as best I could and trimmed the stems as necessary.

Stamp the needed sentiment (here I used So Sentimental stamp set) onto Whisper White using Black Stazon ink then die cut from Whisper White a label/ banner from the All Dressed Up Dies. Adhere with dimensionals. Add three Just Jade 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots. Your card front is complete!

With Magenta Madness cs die cut two of the smaller outline poppies. Adhere to the Thick Whisper White card inside with liquid glue. OPTION: Adhere enough Adhesive Sheet to the back of Magenta Madness prior to running through the die cutting machine. This allows for peel ‘n stick attaching to cs.I didn’t do this – cuz I forgot! Your card is now complete.

The envelope…

To the envelope flap, adhere a piece of Magenta Madness 2020-2022 In Color DSP, trim to fit. To the card front, with Magenta Madness ink, stamp off the poppy “background” stamp then stamp onto the envelope front. With Stazon Black ink, stamp the outline poppy. And the card is ready for mailing!

This card is going to a friend who just had a hip replacement. Its cheery colors will hopefully lift her spirits. I love how this card turned out – the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing folder adds a depth of elegance too.

JOIN MY TEAM

Before getting on with my day – and yours, I just want to share with you some exciting news from Stampin’ Up! The new die cutting/ embossing machine is going to be available for preorder to demonstrators Aug 4.  I am so excited… this die cutting/ embossing machine has a solid magnet plate that should prevent the dies from being “pulled” to somewhere other than where you put them on the plate! YAY! So how can you be part of that preorder Aug 4 – JOIN MY TEAM! Above is a bit more info about how to join my team as a demonstrator AND below a bit more about the die cutting/ embossing machine. Pretty cool machine isn’t it? I can’t wait to order mine.

SU! Jar of Flowers

Hi Everyone… It’s Friday, TGIF day and the weather folks say it’s a beautiful weekend ahead. YAY! Tomorrow is hubby’s b’day 😍 and we are headed to a National Park picnic area to meet up with our kids and their families ~ eek ~ so excited! But we have to be so careful… elder daughters hubby is compromised health~wise and so is their older son (age 19)… just sayin’ it’s been six months since we have seen that family in person and I so badly want to hug every one of them…. But I am going to be good, good, good. I rarely go out so definitely self quarantining, and I don’t want to do anything that would jeopardize their health. We are taking chairs so we can socially distance, and we are not sharing food. Our other daughter/ hubby will be there too but they live about 20 minutes from us and while we socially distance, we see them about once a week, which is really nice. Sounds sterile doesn’t it? But there will be love and laughter… and celebration! 💕💕 Enough already…

Today’s card has a definite country look…Does it ever happen that the vision you have is NOT what is created? Well, that definitely happened with this card, but I still like it… here ’tis…

Jar of Flowers stamp set
#1

And here are the products used to make this card…

  • Jar of Flowers stamp set
  • Lovely Youn stamp set (sentiment & leaf on inside panel)
  • Bumblebee cs
  • Early Espresso cs & ink
  • Thick Whisper White cs
  • Watercolor paper (which probably should have been Whisper White cs :O)
  • Linen Thread
  • Pear Pizzazz ink
  • Mint Macaron ink
  • Balmy Blue ink
  • Black Stazon ink
  • Lots of Blends: Lt Old Olive, Daffodil Delight combo pack, Early
Espresso combo pack, Pumpkin Pie combo pack, Highland Heather combo pack, Dk Petal Pink

And here’s the how…

Stamp the flower image in Black Stazon ink. And here was my mistake… I wanted this to be done in watercolor, but the image is really too small. Watercolor is great for backgrounds or a larger image, so I switched and colored the flowers with Blends… Make a mask with the flower stamp, place it over the flower and stamp the jar (vase) in Pear Pizzazz. I wanted this jar to look like one of the old fashioned blue-green glass canning jars. Stamp the water in Balmy Blue. Not for nothing, but this should have been stamped off at least once! Stamp the stems in Pear Pizzazz.

Use the Take Your Pick tool and the Stampin ‘ Pierce mat to punch four small holes at the edge of the opening. Weave the Linen Thread through the holes and tie a bow. Love it! The card front is ready to be adhered to Bumblebee cs, then early Espresso, put on dimensionals and on to the Thick Whisper White card base. Nice!

The inside…

Lovely You stamp set
#2

Stamp the sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set in Early Espresso and the leaf from this same set in Pear Pizzazz, stamped off at least twice so it’s a soft image onto a Whisper White panel. This is a wonderful stamp set with super fonts – just sayin’. Adhere with liquid glue to a Bumblebee panel and then to the card inside. Your card is now ready for an envelope!

The envelope..,.

Jar of Flowers stamp set #3

I had some paper strips left over from cutting down cs so simply adhered them to the flap and the front of the card. What do you think? This idea would be very appropriate for a masculine card but sure ties this card to the envelope – and I like it…  TIP: I usually have my Silicone craft sheet handy when I do this, so as not to get glue all over my work surface. Paper strips often have glue on the ends that go beyond the paper it’s being adhered to and the Silicone craft sheet is so easy to clean… just roll the glue with your finger and that’s it!

While this card did not turn out as I had envisioned, it is a definite ‘send now’ kind of card that I want to share with someone special – so out it will go today… Would you like to make this same card and maybe don’t have the stamp sets or Blends? I you do not have a demonstrator, shop with me! Use my CURRENT HOST CODE J2E4VDGM if your product purchase is between $50-$150 to receive a free SU! $10 item of your choice from me.
