Stampin’ Up! Scalloped Notecards and Tulip Builder Punch

Today’s card is made using the Stampin’ Up! Scalloped Notecards and Tulip Builder Punch AND the Pleased as Punch DSP that is a free item when purchasing at least $50 worth of product during the final days of Sale-a-bration.

Before we get to the card… how are you doing? With the health crisis everyone is experiencing, are you feeling closed in or is this a time to “get things done” or a time to meditate or a time to be outside? Before we see the card for today, I will share a picture of myself with our dear English Springer Spaniel Rusty. He is eight but thinks he is 2! We three, hubby was along too, visited a state park nearby and took a wonderful walk. Rusty loved every step and smell! Hubby took the picture so obviously isn’t in it… We live on the East Coast and the water in these photos  is leading to Barnegat Bay. Here they are…

Peaceful, right? It is definitely a great place to visit, walk around, feel connected to Mother Nature and our Almighty Maker.

Please follow the guidelines the CDC is recommending. May you and family be safe and stay well.

Now to the card of today…

Does this card shout Spring or what? Here are the details…

  • Using the Pleased as Punch DSP, use the Tulip Builder Punch to punch the desired tulips. I did three. What’s kind of fun is the reverse side of this paper is the wonderful green design you see used for the leaves on this card. Pretty neat, huh? Stampin’ Up! does it right!
  • Using the Timeless Tulips stamp set, stamp the stems in Granny Apple Green.
  • Adhere the Tulip punches… the bottom or tulip on the far right is adhered with liquid glue. The yellow tulip is adhered with one layer of dimensionals. The pink tulip is adhered using two layers of dimensionals.
  • Next I placed the leaves: far right is adhered with liquid glue; bottom left tulip is adhered with one layer of dimensionals; the middle leaf is adhered with a double layer of dimensionals.
  • Oh I love this bow… it is Petal Pink silver edge ribbon and just really adds a special touch to the card. It was adhered with a dimensional cut in half.
  • The sentiment was stamped with the Ornate Thanks stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a 1/2′ strip of Whisper White. Trim as shown and adhere with dimesnionals.
  • For the inside I adhered a 1/2″ x 5″ strip of the Pleased As Punch DSP to the far right edge. When the card is closed it shows beyond the scalloped edge 🙂 I also stamped the sentiment THANKS from the Ornate Thanks stamp set. CARD IS COMPLETE!!! So fun.
  • On the envelope front I stamped the word ‘seriously,’ from the Ornate Thanks stamp set. It helps the individual understand even before opening the card that there is a special note inside.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you like… I wish I could see the person who is receiving this card when they open it – but it’s going in the mail. You know how that is…

May you have a beautiful day. Make someone happy by sending them a handmade card.

Stampin’ Up! Scalloped Notecards and the Ornate Garden Suite

Today’s card is made using the ultra cute Stampin’ Up! Scalloped Notecards and decorated using Ornate Garden Specialty DSP and. the Ornate Borders dies. These notecards come in a package of 20 with scalloped envelopes and in colors: Balmy Blue, Old Olive, Light Pink and Terracotta Tile. This card is made using the Old Olive. Here it is…

The card front:

  • Cut a piece of the Ornate Garden SDSP 2 3/4″ x 5″. Adhere using liquid glue.
  • Using the Ornate Borders Dies, cut a piece 1/2″ x 5″ from Gold Foil. Adhere using liquid glue.

The inside:

  • Cut a strip of the Ornate Garden SDSP 1/2″ x 5″ and adhere to the bottom. This allows this beautiful paper paper to show because of the scalloped edge of the notecard.
  • Using the Ornate Layers dies, cut a section from Old Olive cs. Adhere to the inside using liquid glue
  • Using a different die from the Ornate Layers Dies, cut a section from Gold Foil. Rub with your embossing buddy to remove any static. Using Versamark ink, stamp the sentiment from the Ornate Thanks stamp set, sprinkle with black embossing powder and heat set. Adhere this to the Old Olive piece.
  • Since this has used most of the card, prepare a Whisper White piece to slip inside. Here’s what I did with mine – using the Ornate Style stamp set and Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I cut this piece 3″ x 4″.

Voila – card is complete, ready to send an appreciative thank you!

I have had such a fun time using this Ornate Garden Suite. If you are not a demonstrator, this suite will become available to order from me Apr 1.  So think about it and let’s connect.. Should you wish to order something now and your order is between $50-$149, please use my current HOST CODEXYW2SYNV to receive an item of your choice worth up to $10. Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks, Ornate Borders Dies, So Very Vellum Specialty DSP

Today’s card makes use of the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks and Ornate Borders Dies, and So Very Vellum Specialty DSP and the Eyelet Lace embossing folder. It was inspired by TGIF Challenges #tgifc255. Here it is in all it’s glory – feminine and fresh, bringing a note of thanks to the receiver…

Here are the details for the card front:

  • Soft Seafoam 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • So Very Vellum 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Whisper White 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, 1/2″ x 3″ strip for the sentiment

  • Use the border die from the Ornate Borders dies to create this wonderful delicate edge. Adhere this to the left front of the So Very Vellum SDSP. This takes a very thin line of liquid glue. Adhere this, again with liquid glue, just along where the die edge is attached to the vellum. This is important – if glue is anywhere else on the vellum it will show. You don’t want that!
  • Stamp the sentiment from Ornate Thanks with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Angle the one end. Put on dimesionals – I used three – and add to card front. Mine is placed 3/4″ up from the bottom. Add bling with the Noble Peacock Rhinestones. Front is complete!

Inside the card:

  • Whisper White 4″ x 5 1/4″ Stamp the sentiments from the Ornate Thanks stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Soft Seafoam ink. Use a leftover strip from the embossed piece from the envelope flap and adhere to the bottom. This strip is  1/4″ x 5 1/4″

The envelope:

  • Nary a “neked” envelope to be found – right? Right! Cut a piece of Soft Seafoam 2 1/4″ x 6″, spritz lightly with water and run through the Eyelet Lace embossing folder. Adhere to the envelope flap using liquid glue. Trim. The leftover scrap was cut down and used on the inside of the card 🙂
  • Stamp the sentiment from Ornate Thanks in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I love this card! It is just so sweet. I hope you like it too. Remember that this stamp and die set can be yours beginning Apr 1- May 1. It is part of the Early Release Ornate Garden Suite of products.  While the items will be be available in the Annual 2020-2021 catalogue, they most likely will not be as a suite of products – and therefore will be more expensive.

I would love to have you shop with me. When you purchase product $50- $149 from me, you receive a free item of choice up to $10. A deal right? Use my current HOST CODE XYW2SYNV.

May you have a beautiful day. Make someone happy by sending them a handmade card.

Stampin’ Up! Flowering Foils Card and Gift Bag

My card today uses the stunning Stampin’ Up! Flowering Foils papers that can be earned with a $50 order. It also uses Daisy Lane Stamp set, Around the Corner stamp set, Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, the Medium Daisy punch and the Bouquet Bunch dies.Sounds like a lot doesn’t it? But the card was super fun and easy to create. Here it is…

Isn’t this fun? I really, really like it. This Flowering Foils paper has some body to it, was easy to work with and is stunning in person. Pictures really does not do it justice. My intension was to make a masculine card but once I got started, well, you see what happened. It isn’t masculine at all!

Here are the details:

  • Smokey Slate card stock cut to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Blueberry Bushel cut to 4 3/4″ x 3 1/4″
  • Flowering Foils cut to 4 1/2″ x 3″

So how did I get this wonderful ombre effect? By using a brush roller! Using the roller, roll over the ink pad GOING IN ONE DIRECTION ONLY, NOT BACK AND FORTH. This allows the ink to cover the entire roller, not just sections of it. Put roller to paper starting at the top of the foils paper and moving downward. I did not go to the end of the piece as I wanted a gradient color. Continue this process until it’s to the depth of shade desired. Allow to dry a few minutes then buff lightly with a soft cloth to remove ink from the foil design. This is a bit of a messy process as it gets ink on your hands during the handling and holding of the paper. Just make certain the ink on your hands is dry before handling other papers!

  • Adhere the Flowering Foils piece to the Blueberry Bushel using liquid glue. Wrap braided linen thread around these two pieces and tie in a knot
  • Using the Daisy Lane stamp set stamp three daisies on Whisper White card stock and punch out with the Medium Daisy punch. Curl the petals by running a bone folder over the petals and lifting them. Adhere daisies together with glue dots. Adhere over the ribbon with a dimensional. Adhere a Gold Faceted Gem in the daisy center.
  • Stamp the “for you” using Blueberry Bushel ink and the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set onto a Whisper White scrap. Cut out using the Bouquet Bunch dies. Put a dimensional on the back, slip a length of linen thread through the hole and tie in a knot to the braided linen ribbon.
  • Adhere all this with dimenionals to the Smokey Slate cs and the card front is complete!

This card is for a friend who will be running a convention in a couple of months, and that’s why the sentiment on the inside. Here it is…

  • Blueberry Bushel 4 3/4″ x 3 1/4″
  • Whisper White 4 1/2″ x 3″
  • Stamp the sentiment with Blueberry Bushel ink
  • Add a Noble Rhinestone jewel and the card is complete.

The envelope…

  • The envelope got the same treatment on the flap, using a piece of the Flowering Foils cut 2 1/4″ x 6″, adhering with liquid glue and trimming to size.
  • On the envelope front I stamped the sentiment from Around the Corner stamp set in Blueberry Bushel. Since this card will be hand delivered, I adhered five jewels from the Noble Peacock Rhinestone pack

I love this card – did I say that already? Hope you do as well. Now – on with the matching gift bag..

  • Cut a piece of Flowering Foils paper 6″ x 12″. Create the ombre effect as described above.
  • Score on the long side 1 1/2″, 5 3/4″, 7 1/4″ and 11 1/2″.
  • With the ombre on the right, score on the short side 1 1/2″
  • Burnish all score lines.
  • Remove the small 1/2″ section below the 1 1/2″ score line. Adhere Tear n’ Tape to the long 1/2″ section
  • Cut up to the 1 1/2″ score line
  • Fold over the bag to the Tear n’ Tape; fold up the bottom and adhere with Tear n’ Tape
  • Pinch top; Wrap a length of Braided Linen Ribbon around the bag, tie in a bow
  • Stamp the ‘Smile’ sentiment from the Daisy Lane stamp set in Blueberry Bushel. Punch out with the Tailored Tag Punch. Add you own ‘scrolly’ around the edge. Using the Tailored Tag Punch , punch another from Blueberry Bushel cs and cut in half. Adhere the white punched piece to the two sections of Blueberry Bushel creating an even border. Adhere with dimensionals to the bag. DONE!
  • I want to give credit to Pootles for the wonderful video on YouTube that inspired this fun set. Thank you!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you liked this fun set. Remember this Flowering Foils paper is available during the rest of Sale-a-bration (Mar 31!) with a $50 order. In other words it;s a FREE ITEM!

May you have a beautiful day. Make someone happy by sending them a handmade card.

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Suite Masculine Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks stamp set and Ornate Layers dies from the upcoming 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue to create my masculine thank you card today. It was quick and it was easy!

  • Starting with Old Olive 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card stock, score @ 4 1/4″
  • Cut a piece of Pear Pizzazz 4 ” x 5 1/4″. I appreciate how these two greens work together.
  • Cut a piece Ornate Garden Specialty DSP with the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle dies. Using liquid glue, adhere this to the Pear Pizzazz.
  • Cut a piece of Gold Foil from the Ornate Layers dies. Put dimensionals on the back and attach to the Pear Pizzazz and Ornate Garden SDSP.
  • Cut a strip of Basic Black 1/2″ x 5″. Adhere using snail to the center of the Gold Foil.
  • Cut a piece of Pear Pizzazz about 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″. Run your embossing buddy across this to remove all static. Stamp the front sentiment with Versamark ink and sprinkle with Black embossing powder and heat set. Once cooled, cut this out with another of the Ornate Layers dies. Color six Rhinestone Basic jewels with Black Stampin’ Up! blends and adhere as shone. Adhere dimensionals to the back of this piece and attach, centering it, over the black strip.
  • Almost done with the front… Add dimensionals to the large Pear Pizzazz and attach, centering, to the Old Olive card base. This card now has three layers on dimensionals and shows such depth and beauty. I love it!

The inside…

  • Cut a piece of Pear Pizzazz 4′ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to the card base with liquid glue.
  • Cut a piece of Whisper White 3 3/4″ x 5″. Stamp the sentiment from the Ornate Thanks stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Adhere a strip of the Ornate Garden SDSP 1/2″ x 5″ toward the bottom as shown. Adhere the Whisper White to the Pear Pizzazz already attached to the inside of the card and voila!

The envelope flap… adhere a piece of the Ornate Garden SDSP, cut to fit. Your card is ready to share, send, give.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you like this masculine card. I think it looks really elegant. And.. it will fit inside the gift bag from yesterday’s post. Lucky man!!!

Remember the Ornate Garden Suite will become available to customers Apr 1 – May 31. Items will be in the Annual catalogue, but probably not listed as a suite – so definitely a deal as a suite of products.  When you shop with me please use my HOST CODE XYW2SYNV to receive a free gift from me!

May you have a beautiful day. Make someone happy by sending them a handmade card.

Timeless Tulips

Hello! The birds are singing wildly this morning. Isn’t it amazing how bulbs popping out of the ground can get us all enthused? It happens to me for sure. So today’s card is a hint of Spring – Pool Party is the lead color with just a hint of Petal Pink and Soft Seafoam. Here it is…

  • Card base is 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ – Pool Party
  • Layer 4″ x 4 1/4″ Pool Party dry embossed with the beautiful Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder. Adhere with liquid glue directly to the card base
  • Layer #2: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ Pool Party. Cut 3″ x 4″  Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP and adhere with liquid glue to the smaller Pool Party. Put dimesnionals on the back and adhere to the card base by centering it on the card.
  • Layer #3: Using the Stitched So Sweetly dies and second from largest scalloped edge, cut a piece of Whisper White. Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, the stamp the smaller tulip in Petal Pink, followed by the stem and leaves in Soft Seafoam.
  • Adhere pearls from Share What You Love OR color pearls using Stampin Blends markers.

Love the simplicity of this primarily monochromatic look. The sentiment chose lends itself to being used as a birthday, sympathy, congratulations or just a note card.

Bloom and Grow, matching dies Budding Blooms

I really enjoy coloring, so using the blends is very relaxing to me. How about for you? This card in particular was pretty simple & easy to do. What makes a difference in a card are the details. For instance, did you notice the coloring on the background? That was done oh so casually with both light and dark Stampin Blends. It’s a bit too straight for my liking but for today we’re going with it.

Here are the details:

  • Very Vanilla card base cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″ – opens from the left
  • Poppy Parade layer 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″, put on card with dimesionals
  • Shimmer card layer 4 3/4″ x 3 3/8″: use Stampin blends Petal Pink to color, alternating light and dark. Adhere Shimmer paper to the Poppy Parade layer with liquid glue.
  • Stamp the flower in Memento black ink; color flowers with Poppy Parade blends light and dark; color leaves with Call Me Clover blends light and dark; color berries with light Poppy Parade; cut out with appropriate die and adhere with dimentionals onto the Shimmer paper.
  • Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Basic Black cs with Versamark ink. (Use the embossing buddy first to clear the cs of static) Dip into white embossing powder, flicking off excess, and heat emboss. Adhere to card fron with dimensionals.
  • YAY! Front is done…

Inside… I wanted to keep this really simple so stamped one of the flower bouquet on the bottom right side in Memento black ink.

Envelope… Again, wanted it to be simple but eye-catching so dry embossed a 6″ x 2 1/4″ Poppy Parade with the Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder. This was adhered with liquid glue and cut to fit.

This card could so easily be done in most any shade using the Stampin Blends. Whatever color you use for the flower, coordinate the underlying paper and the envelope flap. YAY! Can’t wait to see what you do with this stamp set.

OK, after writing this post, I just had to share the rest of the cards I created. I had a class Monday night and did some extra stamping to share how to move the light and dark blends. Here are several:

Country Club, Father’s Day

Hi there! Today’s card is in preparation of our fathers or brothers or male friend – Father’s Day  -and we are ahead of the game 😉 It could easily be changed to a birthday card using the same stamp set/ dies. The Designer Series Paper that coordinates with this stamp set is so stately, I just really, really like it. You can find these items in the Jan-Jun Mini Catalogue.

Here’s how to do the card cuts…

  • Card base is Garden Green 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″.
  • Bottom layer is Pear Pizzaz 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″,  DSP is adhered with Tombow glue and is 1 3/4″ x 5 1/8″
  • Layer #2 is Pear Pizzaz at 2 1/4″ x 4 1/4″; Garden Green cut at 2 1/8″ x 4 1/8″; then DSP is 2″ x 4″
  • Top layer is Pear Pizzaz 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″; Garden Green 2 5/8″ x 3 1/8″; Whisper White 2 1/2″ x 3″

Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy on the Whisper White piece; cut the golf clubs and the balls out of Silver foil, adhering with Tombow glue. Card front is done!

Inside..

Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy on Whisper White which is cut at 4″ x 5″; adhere another of the golf balls with Tombow glue; adhere to the card base… inside done!

Gift Card Holder

Thought I would share with you the gift card holders I made today. Inspired by one of my students. here they are… see below

* Card stock is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored on the long side at 3 1/8, 4 1/4 & 5 3/8
* Fold in half, burnish; fold the other two scored sides the opposite direction. Card now looks as though it has a W in the middle. Adhere that ‘W’ inside.
* I made the front piece to hold the gift card by using tear n tape on the ends of the fold.
* Decorate as desired: my sizes for the front were..CS: 3 x 5 3/8, DSP: at 2 7/8 x 5 1/4. The inside dimension was 3 x 5 3/8

Have fun!!!
This is the outside: the envelope is a standard small envelope, decorated to coordinate with each individual card holder.

And here’s the inside:

As I made several (5 to be exact), here are photos of the outside of the others:

Bookmarks from scraps

Yesterdays post included cute packaging using retired Designer Series Paper. Today’s post is using those scraps… Below is that picture… Again using scraps, I covered the backs of the strips with Whisper White Card stock by adhering with Tombow glue. I used the delightful tag topper punch for the top and tied ribbon through the holes. Voila! The bookmarks seemed a bit plain and I wanted a simple saying, so went to the computer and printed out sayings on Whisper White card stock. After cutting them down to size and using the classic label punch, I punched the ends doing one at a time as the words are longer than the punch. Again, these are just for passing out to a book group of friends or for using yourself. Enjoy!
