Stampin’ Up! Fragrant Flowers for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to Thursday… and the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We have a sketch challenge today and I’m using the Fragrant Flowers Bundle and the Favored Flowers DSP to create it.

Stampin' Up! Fragrant Flowers Blog Hop.2/16.1

To make this card I took a panel of Dainty Flowers DSP and adhered it to the Blackberry Bliss card front. I then took a piece of Basic White card stock and ran it through the Split Card Textures Dies and adhered that over the DSP. I then die cut a couple of flowers from the Favored Flowers DSP using the Fragrant Flowers Dies. It is SO COOL when the dies coordinate with designer series papers. I also die cut two leaves from Evening Evergreen and buds from Fresh Freesia – all using the Fragrant Flowers Dies. The two larger flowers were added to the front with dimensionals, the lower flower adhered directly to the card front, and the buds and two leaves adhered directly as well. I stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink using the Fragrant Flowers stamp set on a piece of the Dainty Flowers DSP, then die cut it with a die from Fragrant Flowers Dies. That was added with liquid glue and dimensionals on the ends.For a final touch: Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems in Gorgeous Grape and a fun Open Weave Ribbon bow in Evening Evergreen (this was added with a glue dot). Both the Dainty Flowers DSP AND the Favored Flowers DSP are FREE – each with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration!

For the inside, another set of flowers die cut from Favored Flowers DSP added to a panel of Basic White. The sentiment is stamped in Blackberry Bliss using a stamp from Fragrant Flowers stamp set. A single Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gem in Fresh Freesia was added.

The envelope… more Favored Flowers DSP to the flap trimmed to fit and a single flower die cut using the Fragrant Flowers Dies and the Favored Flowers DSP – now completed & ready to send. This card is going to a friend who has struggled with knee issue for over a year, just had meniscus surgery on one knee and anticipates the other knee in about a month. Let’s hope this works for her!

Good Tuesday morning and HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Appreciate your loved ones, all of them. Send them a note or give them a call, whatever works for you. It’s never too late to let folks know you care about them. Thank you for joining me today – remember, I care about you! And welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop Group!

Today’s card plays along with the challenge for this week – a birthday card. And it’s a Diamond Flip card that’s fun to do, and did I say easy?

Gosh, the photo is a bit dark… but isn’t this a sweet card? Here’s a photo of it unfolded showing the outside.

And here’s one of it folded showing the inside. Notice the diamond on the left is ‘flipped’, or folded.

And one more photo… this one shows the front again, with the diamond fold to the inside. This way you clearly see how it’s all put together.

Directions:

Cut card base (here I used Granny Apple Green) 4 1/4 x 11 and score at 2 1/8 & 5 1/2
On the 2 1/8 end, mark the center point, on the short side which happens to be 2 1/8.
Fold card in half – on the 5 1/2 score line
Cut from the 2 1/8 score line to the point mark on a diagonal, going through both layers.
Now do the other cut from 2 1/8 score line to point. By cutting both ends at the same time, this makes the ends exactly the same!
Cut a 3″ square, also from Granny Apple Green, and adhere to the 2 1/8 end, adhering just to score line. This allows that end to be flexible.And this is the end to be decorated.
- Add a 2 7/8″ square, this time in a coordinating color or Basic White. I chose Textured Shimmer Paper in Balmy Blue
- Stamp the floral image from True Beauty stamp set in Blushing Bride ink, then die cut with coordinating die from Organic Beauty Dies.
- Stamp the leaves in Granny Apple Green ink using True Beauty stamp set. Die cut with coordinating die using Organic Beauty Dies
- Adhere the floral image with dimensionals to the now diamond. Slip the leaves under this a bit and adhere with liquid glue.
- Cut a banner 1/2 x 3 1/4 and stamp with sentiment from Sentimental Park stamp set, in Merry Merlot ink. Slip banner just under flower and adhere with liquid glue.
- Add bow ribbon with glue dot: Twill Ribbon Combo Pack in Old Olive
- Add Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Petal Pink (Jan-Apr Mini Catalog)
- Cover floral image with Wink of Stella
Add Balmy Blue panel 3 1/4 x 4 1/8 to card front
Add Awash In Beauty DSP over Balmy Blue, 3 1/8 x 4 1/8

For the inside

Add a 3 1/8 x 4 panel of the Awash in Beauty DSP to the panel on left
Stamp the sentiment using Sentimental Park stamp set and Merry Merlot ink on the Basic White panel (3 1/8 x 4)
Stamp the flower in Blushing Bride ink using the True Beauty stamp set, cover in Wink of Stella then add more Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Petal Pink
Cut a 2 7/8 square from Awash in Beauty DSP, cut in half creating two triangles. Adhere to each inside end

This card fits perfectly in a regular size envelope and I forgot to take a photo! However… here’s what I did… Cut another piece of Awash in Beauty DSP 2 1/4 x 6, add to envelope flap & trim to fit. Stamp a floral image from True Beauty stamp set in Blushing Bride, adding a bit of Merry Merlot to the center with your finger or a sponge dauber, then stamp on front of envelope. Cover with Wink of Stella.

Stampin’ Up! Flap Front Fun Fold Birthday

I am smitten with the Rain or Shine Designer Series Paper and have made a fun birthday card with it. This is so super easy you will want to make one too.

This little fox is just so stinkin’ C-U-T-E! Look at that grin & that sassy walk. That little guy is die cut straight from the Rain or Shine DSP and die with the Layering Circles Dies. It’s back layer is Mango Melody die cut with the Layering Circles Dies, scallop. Ok, directions.

Card base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 scored at 4 1/4 and I used Balmy Blue
- Remove 1″ from card base front & trim that strip to 3 1/2″, then score one end at 1″
- Attach the short end of this strip to the card back with the score line at the edge – long end to the right
Add a 1 1/4 x 5 3/8 strip of DSP over top of strip – see the raindrop strip in photo, that’s it.

Attach the circle die cut to the long end of the strip. I wanted a nice ‘finish’ to the back side so die cut another circle with the Layering Circles Dies from Brights 6×6 DSP in Mango Melody & adhered it to the back side.
A panel of Basic White 2 3/4 x 5 3/8 is stamped with the birthday sentiment from Something Fancy stamp set in Memento ink. Adhere to inside of card.
Back to card front… Add a panel of Rain or Shine DSP to the card front – 3 1/8 x 5 3/8
Stamp a sentiment in Memento ink on a Basic White Scrap & die cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies.
Add a Mango Melody strip behind it 5/8 x 2 1/4. This could be a length of ribbon instead, or a pice cut slightly larger than the sentiment panel. Add with dimensionals to the card front
I added three Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots in Mango Melody for a bit of bling.

Super easy card – and you could easily change it up… front flap embellished could be a square, a rectangle, a heart. All kinds of possibilities!

For the envelope… more of the Brights 6×6 DSP for the flap, trimmed to fit and another die cut from the Rain or Shine DSP, this time die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. A super fun card to send & receive!

Stampin’ Up! Dainty Flowers Slimline Thanks Card

Hello Friends! I have a fun, different card for you today ~ it’s a slimline card using the FREE Sale-a-bration DSP Dainty Flowers. It’s available with a $50 purchase, but only during Sale-a-bration, which ends Feb 28 ~ soon. I saw this card, I think from Mary Fish, and decided to make one myself. You could make this card with any Designer Series Papers.

I used Old Olive card stock as my card base, 7 x 8 1/2 scored at 3 1/2, then cut another panel of Old Olive 3 1/4 x 8 1/4. I cut two pieces of the Dainty Flowers DSP 3 1/4 x 8 1/4, laid them together kind of catty-wampas – you know, crooked, and adhered them together. I placed them on the additional Old Olive panel, marked the left edge & trimmed it. I then placed that trimmed edge on the Paper Trimmer & cut it to 8 1/8 in length so it would have a straight top edge & fit on that Old Olive panel – then adhered it to the Old Olive panel and added it to the card front with dimensionals. I pulled out the Something Fancy Bundle to stamp the sentiment in Starry Sky ink and die cut it with this fun hexagon die from the Something Fancy Dies. Then I die cut another piece as a background from another piece of the Dainty Flowers DSP and using yet another die from Something Fancy Dies, then cut another from Basic White. The Basic White die cut I cut in half lengthwise and adhered behind the DSP die cut to create a bit of frame. This I attached to the card front with dimensionals. I put the hexagon sentiment piece also on dimensionals and added it to the panel. For a bit of bling I added three Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls then a baker’s twine bow from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine package – in Starry Sky. This is a double bow. And the card front was done :O)

Remember those pieces I trimmed from the left edge? Here they are on the inside of the card, adhered to a Basic White 3 1/4 x 8 1/4 panel. And the card is d-o-n-e! Love this… and it would be a great style for a masculine card birthday or whatever. The envelope I us for this is from the Slimline Envelopes from the Annual catalog – just forgot to take photo!

Stampin’ Up! Dandy Designs Box for Note Cards

Hello again.. as promised I have the easy box for the super cute Playing In The Rain Note Cards & Envelopes shared these past couple of days. It is made with Dandy Designs 12×12 DSP that is FREE with a $100 order during this time of Sale-a-bration (Jan to end of Feb 2023). I reinforced the box with the white backing that comes with DSP. It’s perfect for a project like this!

As you can see I’ve tied it closed with a wonderful Metallic Mesh Ribbon, then tied the banner on with the Simply Elegant Trim in silver. Here’s what the box looks like on the inside with the reinforcement panels in place.

How to:

Begin by cutting a panel 9 1/2 x 12 and score on the long side @ 3 1/2, 5 1/2 9 1/2 & 11
Turn and score on short side @ 2″ & 7 1/2″
Burnish all score lines and trim as shown in next photo… trim just to 2″ score line on each side, remembering the flap is the smallest score (11) That first flap is also

Stampin' Up! Bor for Note Cards, scoring & trim

The top of the photo shows the front flap and the two trimmed flaps that are part of the top. Notice that I rounded the flap ends.
The next ‘flaps’ I am going to number as 2, 3. & 4 – and they relate to both sides
Fold in flaps 3 and put adhesive on both flaps 2 as they will be the sides and will attach to flaps 4 when folded.
Fold, keeping the # 3 flaps loose and on the inside.
Flaps #3 are now adhered to the sides – and done! However, I chose to add panels of the white boards from DSP packaging.
- Cut pieces: sides ~ 2 x 3 1/2 (cut 2) and adhere to inside sides; front & back ~ 5 3/8 x 3 1/2 (cut 2) and adhere to insides front & back; and finally the bottom ~ 2 x 5 3/8 (cut 2 and adhere together) and adhere to bottom.

The card front is Rain or Shine DSP covering the entire front of the card. I stamped the clouds using Smoky Slate ink and the Playing in the Rain stamp set, then die cut the clouds with the Playing in the Rain Dies. They are added to the card with dimensionals. The cute turtle is fussy cut from the Rain or Shine DSP and added with liquid glue. The banner is stamped in Smoky Slate ink with the Playing in the Rain stamp set and trimmed with the Banners Pick a punch then a strip of Old Olive added to the back with Stampin’ Seal then attached to the card with dimensionals. The inside of the card has an adorable flower bunch die cut from the Rain or Shine DSP with Stylish Shapes Dies and added with liquid glue. The envelope is stamped in Smoky Slate ink with Playing in the Rain stamp set and colored with Daffodil Delight & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.

Stampin’ Up! Playing In The Rain Note Cards.2

Hello weekend! I hope you have something fun planned. Yesterday I shared a note card using the Playing In The Rain Bundle and mentioned that it would be easy to make several to have on hand or give as a gift – I took my own advise and did just that. Tomorrow I’ll share the box I made specifically for these note cards.

On this card I used the Brights 6×6 DSP in Flirty Flamingo for the background and Balmy Blue card stock behind the main image. The main image comes from the Rain or Shine DSP & was die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. The Balmy Blue behind it was die cut with the Layering Circles Dies. The sentiment comes from Thanks a Bunch stamp set (FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration!). On the inside, a single strip of the Brights 6×6 DSP in Flirty Flamingo and a fussy cut umbrella from Rain or Shine DSP. The floral stamp on the envelope is from Playing In The Rain stamp set.

This card uses a panel of the Rain or Shine DSP as the background, another die cut image from the DSP adhered to Mango Melody card stock die cut with the Layering Circles Dies. A single Loose Daisy Embellishment was added to the sentiment. A strip of the Mango Melody helps focus the sentiment from Playing In The Rain stamp set. A single strip of the DSP is added to the inside of the card.

Card #3 uses more of the Rain or Shine DSP for the background and a focus image die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies from the Rain or Shine DSP. For strength I did die cut a Basic White circle and adhered it to the back of the focus image before placing those in dimensionals. The strip for the sentiment is Mango Melody card stock and the sentiment is stamped in Memento ink using the Playing In The Rain stamp set. The sentiment ends were trimmed with the Banners Pick a Punch. A strip of the same DSP was added to the inside of the card and another fussy cut turtle from the Rain or Shine DSP was added to the envelope front.

For this last card I used a background of Subtles 6×6 DSP in Mint Macaron with a background on the main sentiment of Balmy Blue card stock. Both the image & the scalloped trim were die cut with the Layering Circles Dies. I simply used the reverse side of the Subtles 6×6 DSP for the cross pieces behind the focus image. The sentiment from Playing In The Rain and stamped in Smoky Slate ink was fussy cut & layered on a strip of the Rain or Shine DSP. The inside of the card and the envelope front got a floral stamp from the Playing In The Rain stamp set in Smoky Slate ink. These four cards along with the card from yesterday, (seen here) make a lovely gift set if you should want to do that.

Stampin’ Up! Country Bouquet Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

We have a theme challenge for today’s hop – love. I don’t tend to be a big Valentine sender/ giver, but I really like this Country Bouquet Bundle. I’ve taken a bit of a modern approach without DSP.

Silver heat embossing, a bit of scoring and some gorgeous Simply Elegant Trim in silver highlight this card. And of course, the heart uses the Country Bouquet Punch from the Country Bouquet Bundle. The words and hearts are from the Country Bouquet stamp set.

The ‘how to’:

Begin with a card base of Thick Basic White scored in half. This can work as 8 1/2 x 5 1/2scored at 4 1/4 or 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
Using the Scoring Tool and the back side of a Basic White panel, create five score lines. Why the back side? Scoring creates an indentation and I wanted the scoring to be raised. After scoring, turn card stock over & bingo!
On a piece of Basic White, rub the piece with the embossing buddy to remove finger prints or anything that would cause the embossing powder to attach itself; stamp the hearts from Country Bouquet stamp set with VersaMark ink; sprinkle with silver embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Once cool, punch with the Country Bouquet Punch and set both hearts aside.
Determine where on the card front panel the large heart will be placed, rub entire right side of card with the embossing buddy. Stamp the two open hearts from the Country Bouquet stamp set with VersaMark ink, then the words ‘for you’. Sprinkle both with silver embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.
Add large heart with dimensionals.
Add silver bow using the Simply Elegant Trim and adhering with a scrunched glue dot.
Add three Pearl Basic Jewels for additional elegance.
Add this panel to a Silver Foil Specialty Paper panel slightly larger, then add to card front. Done!

For the inside, I added a length of Silver Foil Specialty paper to the left side with liquid glue, cleaned the area to be stamped with the embossing buddy, inked the sentiment with VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with silver embossing powder and heat set. The smaller heart that was stamped & punched at the same time as the larger heart was added with liquid glue. This panel was added to the inside of the card and all done.

For the envelope, I again used the embossing buddy to clean an area for the enclosed hearts from the Country Bouquet stamp set; stamped them with VersaMark ink and sprinkled with the silver embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. For the envelope flap, I wanted a soft pink so added a piece of the Dainty Flowers DSP (FREE with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration!)

Stampin’ Up! Favored Flowers Thanks

Hello Tuesday! It rained here all day yesterday… and about 36 degrees. Luckily it wasn’t colder, right?! I lead a program at our church called Stephen Ministry and we are currently running a training program for new Stephen Ministers. One of the things I like to do is try to include already trained Stephen Ministers to help train the new students. And this is a thank you card for the teacher that led a recent class.

Stampin' Up! Fragrant Flowers w/ Favored Flowers DSP

I used the FREE Favored Flowers 12×12 DSP that is available with an order of $50 during this time of Sale-a-bration. Love it! I also used the second largest Stitched Rectangle Dies to die cut the DSP and another to die cut the sentiment. You can see another strip of it behind the sentiment (1/2 x about 3 3/4). Getting ahead of myself…

Die cut the Favored Flowers 12×12 DSP with the second largest Stitched Rectangles Dies
Add this to a panel of Evening Evergreen card stock slightly larger.
Add both of these to a Petal Pink card base 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2 with dimensionals
Stamp the sentiment from Fragrant Flowers stamp set in Calypso Coral ink – on a Basic White scrap. Die cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies
Cut a strip of the Favored Flowers DSP 1/2 x 3 3/4 and add to the card front with Stampin’ Seal
Add the stamped sentiment with dimensionals
Add three Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots in Petal Pink

For the inside… I stamped the flower from Fragrant Flowers stamp set with Memento ink on the Basic White panel, then colored it with Stampin’ Blends – Light & Dark Petal Pink for the flower and Light Soft Succulent and Dark Evening Evergreen on the leaves. This reflects the DSP. This Basic White panel was layered on Evening Evergreen then adhered to the inside of the card.

I cut a panel of the Favored Flowers 12×12 DSP (did I mention it is FREE during Sale-a-bration with a qualified order!), adhered it to the envelope flap and trimmed to fit. On the envelope front I stamped the small flower from Fragrant Flowers stamp set in Memento ink, slipped a piece of paper inside the envelope so the Stampin’ Blends don’t bleed through, then colored the image as before: Stampin’ Blends Light & Dark Petal Pink for the flower and Light Soft Succulent and Dark Evening Evergreen on the leaves. This Basic White panel was adhered to an Evening Evergreen piece and adhered to the inside of the card. Done!

Stampin’ Up! NEW Petal Park

Good morning friends – ’tis Tuesday and the week is moving along. I have a very layered card for you today, easy but layered. It uses the fun Regency Park 6×6 DSP, Kraft 6×6 DSP (which I don’t use much), and the Petal Park stamp set, which is new in the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog.

I began by adhering a layer of Kraft 6×6 on the entire front of a Thick Basic White card base, then did lots of cutting with my Paper Trimmer. Balmy Blue & the Regency Park 6×6 DSP is the bottom layer; Balmy Blue, Kraft 6×6 & another Regency Park 6×6 DSP for the next; and finally Balmy Blue, Kraft 6×6 and Basic White stamped with the Petal Park stamp set. I used Balmy Blue ink, Night of Navy ink and Shaded Spruce ink for the leaves. This is a two-step stamp set and lining each up was really easy. With the photopolymer stamps you’re able to see the perfect place to stamp. I added a double Linen Thread bow then three Enamel Dot Essentials in Night of Navy – also a new product in the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog. Card cuts will be listed at the bottom of this post.

For the inside… a layer of Kraft 6×6 DSP with Basic White over top and a thin strip of the Regency Park 6×6 DSP. For the envelope, more of the Regency Park on the flap trimmed to fit.

Stampin’ Up! Alphabet A La Mode – New Letters!

Good Sunday morning! Goodness, the weekend is already half gone… ugh. I’ve been trying to purge my craft room. Anyone else need to clean up, get rid of old stuff? In going through one drawer I found these cute little Mini Composition notebooks and mini Gel Pens and decided to set to work making mini notebooks. I mean we are talking about 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″, purse size for sure. Here’s the one I made for me… Alphabet A La Mode Dies and the pretty Favored Flowers DSP.

The letters are really narrow, but I like the style. Before die cutting them, I added Adhesive Sheet to the back of Thick Basic White card stock so they would adhere easily. These are pretty simple once all the details are worked out and I made several to have on hand – you know, once on a roll, just do it. 😊 Here’s another photo of a completed notebook, but without the detail on front.

I like having a pen with my notebook so I don’t have to go searching in my purse. Things can get ‘lost in the shuffle”, ya know?

I started with a 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 Thick Basic White card stock that I covered with Favored Flowers DSP – FREE item during Jan-Feb Sale-a-bration. I scored on the long side 3 1/4, 3 5/8 and 4 1/8 and burnished these well, having them fold both ways. I then measured down 1″ and cut between the 3 1/4 to 4 1/8 lines. Now measure down 2 3/4″ and do the same: cut between the lines of 3 1/4 to 4 1/8. This area holds the pen! See above photo.

Notice how there is a flat area behind the pen, so it doesn’t get floppy? Add Tear n’ Tape between the 3 5/8 and 4 1/8″ lines just above and below the cut areas and secure together. Now add Tear n’ Tape between 3 1/4 & 3 5/8 – again not between cut area that holds the pen. This will adhere to the spine of the mini notebooks. Let me note here, that due to the thickness of the gel pen, I need to adhere two of the mini notebooks together. I did this by trimming the front of one notebook away and the back of another and adhered just the center part together. See photo 5.

Now add adhesive to front & back of notebooks and put in place. Trim away excess paper. Decorate as desired. I used the small almost square of the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut a contrasting DSP to hold the initials. Here are several already packaged for giving.
