Stampin’ Up! Fun Turler-y Awesome for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to our Thursday group hop! We have a color challenge today and I can’t wait to see what others have chosen to do. But for now, let’s check out my card for today. It’s an off-set gatefold and a birthday card.

Stampin' Up! Turtle-y Awesome Gatefold card front

This offset gatefold is so incredibly easy a I love the versatility of it. And the Turtle-y Cute 12×12 DSP means this could be a birthday card or hello card or thank you – and male or female! I just may change the sentiment since as I’m typing this, I’m thinking of someone who could use a ‘pick-me-up’, lighthearted card. With no sentiment on the inside – this is probably what I will do! But for now – this is it 😀

The card base is Cloud Cover with a layer of Petal Pink, then the Turtle-y Cute DSP. Card cuts will be listed at the bottom of my post. I used the largest Stitched Shapes circle die for the Basic White circle. On that is a fussy cut frog and a couple of bees also fussy cut. I added a Natural Tones double bow and three Shades of Green Hexagon embellishments for texture & fun. The sentiment is from the Turtle-y Awesome stamp set and stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on a Basic White scrap, then fussy cut and added to a Cloud Cover scrap & fussy cut again. The circle was added with dimensionals to just the left front of the gatefold. And you can see I fussy cut the cute frog for the lower left corner of the gatefold as well. Lots of fussy cutting on this card today.

For the inside – another layer of Petal Pink then Basic White for writing. I couldn’t help it, these turtles are too cute and I kept finding one after another to fussy cut and add – plus the flower. Each one is added with liquid glue.

For the envelope, I used the Turtle- y Awesome Dies to die cut additional birds from the Turtle-y Cute 12×12 DSP for the envelope front. And – for the flap, more of the same pattern of the Turtle-Y Cute 12×12 DSP adhered & trimmed to fit. Stampin’ Up! Sunflower 3D and Woven Textures DSP for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to our Blog Hop! I want to give a shout out to a new person in our Thursday lineup for the blog hop – Nicole Bloxom. Can’t wait to see what she has created for today’s sketch challenge. Welcome Nicole!

So… this has been a stressful week – I learned I must have a heart catheterization tomorrow (7/18) with the possibility of a stent. I’m not used to this – having a cardiologist & all that, testing & so forth. It took my mojo & I’m having a bit of trouble creating… so bear with me. You may remember, I had a knee replacement back in early May – that has meant PT 3 x/ week since then. Today’s card is for my Physical Therapist as today is my last day for PT. WOOHOO!!! And just so you know, I can bend my knee on my own to 120 degrees and walk without a limp – no one would ever know I had a knee replacement. 😀

Stampin' Up! Sunflower 3D & Woven Textures card front

I used a new embossing folder from the July ONLINE EXCLUSIVES called Sunflower 3D embossing folder. It’s a stand alone item, which is unusual. I embossed the sunflower then colored it with Stampin’ Blends Darling duckling, Pecan Pie & Garden Green then fussy cut this single flower with my paper snips. I put dimensionals on the back and attached it to a Basic White panel 3 1/2″ square then to Pecan Pie card stock 1/8″ larger. I took Woven Textures DSP & cut it 3 1/2″ square and added that to Pecan Pie cardstock 1/8″ larger, then adhered these squares together as shown. For the background I ran a 4 x 5 14 panel of Basic White through the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder then to another of the same design Woven Textures DSP 1/8″ larger – and attached to the Pecan Pie A2 card base. I used my Early Espresso Marker to ‘flip’ some splatters to the upper portion.The sentiment is from Sunshine Vibes stamp set stamped in Pecan Pie ink on a 1/2″ strip of Basic White adhered to Darling Duckling just 1/8″ wider. This was added to the flower with liquid glue then I added a single mini dimensional under the ‘s’. Myn final touch was three Neutral Matte Dots in Pecan Pie.

For the inside… I wanted something light & positive. Pulling out that same Sending Sunshine stamp set, I stamped the half sun in Darling duckling then the rays (stamped twice) in Crushed Curry, then the sentiment in Pecan Pie – all on a Basic White 4 x 5 1/4. I added this to the same pattern of Woven Textures DSP 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, added them both to the inside of the card – and done! As I mentioned, this card is to my Physical Therapist, but there are two therapists in this office. We joke with one another, share stories, kid around and WORK OUR ROUTINE to get where we need to be. It has been a good experience and I will miss these folks.

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Garden Suite for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to our Thursday hop! If yo have joined me from the fabulous tara, glad you stopped by. If you jumped in right here – love that too! We have a theme challenge today – BIRDS… and I have chosen the new & wonderful Peaceful Garden Suite, available in the Sep-Dec Mini Catalog. Visit this post to learn more about this suite of products. The only item I did not use was the ribbon – I substituted the 1/2″ Sheer Ribbon, Silver & White. Let’s take a look-see.

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Garden Suite for the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog Hop

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Gardens Sympathy card front

I began with a Misty Moonlight card base 4 1`/4 x 11 scored at 4 1/2 then 5 1/2 – to create a bookfold card.Next I cut a 7/8 x 4 1/8 piece of the Peaceful Garden 12×12 DSP and attached it tot he area between the two score lines. I then used the Silver & White 1/2″ Sheer ribbon to wrap over the DSP, securing with Tear n’ Tape. I then adhered that section to the card base, creating the bookfold. :O) I then tied a length of the same ribbon with a single knot around the ribbon and secured the knot with a glue dot. Next, I took a piece of Basic White 4 1/8 x 4 3/8 & ran it through the Peaceful Greenery 3D embossing folder. Gorgeousness! I adhered this to the remaining card front. With Secret Sea I cut the sentiment panel using the smaller label die in the Peace On Earth Dies. I used an embossing buddy to remove any specks, stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink with a stamp from the Peace On Earth Stamp set,, sprinkled it with Metallic WOW! Embossing Powder in Polished Silver & heat set with the heat tool. I mounted this to the card front with dimensionals. This stunning dove is cut from Basic White with the Peace on Earth Dies. I used a dauber & Cloud Cover ink to add just a hint of color to the edges of the wings & tail. Attach with dimesnionals under the right wing & the bird body.

For the inside… I stamped the sentiments in Misty Moonlight ink on top of a bit of color of Cloud Cover added with the sponge dauber – these on a 4 1/8 x 4 3/8 Basic White panel.

Wow – tomorrow is THE DAY – the Fourth of July – what are you doing special? Picnic? Fireworks? Friends? Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We have a sketch challenge today that offers so man y possibilities Let’s have a look….

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Gallery card front

What do you think – does this work for the sketch? I used a few items in the Gallery Suite of products.. the Beautiful Gallery 6×6 DSP (the reverse side!) the Damask Designs embossing Folder, the Gallery Blooms Bundle (die cuts), and the Beautiful Motifs stamp set for the sentiment. In lieu of the embellishments in the suite, I used the Adhesive-Backed Birds & Dragonflies. Here’s how I created this…

Basic Gray card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Basic Gray layer 5 x 3 3/4, embossed with Damask Designs embossing folder. Adhere directly to card base
Beautiful Gallery 6×6 DSP 3 x 4 1/4, backed with card stock for strength (to be added to card front with dimensionals once decorated)
Die cuts: created using the Gallery Blooms Dies… Mossy Meadow for the background leaves; Basic White colored with Blending Brushes using Peach Pie and Mossy Meadow then die cut for the middle flowers & a bit of Pecan Pie on the edges of the flowers after die cutting; die cut the front leaves from Basic White then use a Blending Brush & Pecan Pie ink to color lightly. These were layered as shown with liquid glue.
The sentiment is stamped in Secret Sea ink using the Beautiful Motifs stamp set, then the Basic White strip ‘bannered’ on the ends with paper snips. It was added with dimensionals.
- I wrapped the one end with Basic Twine Essentials in gray, three times around and secured in back with Tear n Tape, creating a pattern of lines.
- Final touch – two of the dragonflies from the Adhesive-Backed Birds & Dragonflies.
- Attach this completed panel with dimensionals, centering.

For the inside… I stamped & die cut this wonderful image in Secret Sea ink and was originally going to use it on the front, then decided not to use it. When it came time to do the inside, I decided to0add the die cut (Gallery Blooms Dies) to the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White panel. And done!

For the envelope… I took the remaining piece of this DSP and added it to the envelope flap & trimmed to fit. To me, this seems like a perfect masculine card – could be used for thinking of you after an illness or sympathy, a thank you – just about anything!

Stampin’ Up! NEW Bauble Blooms with Regal Distressed Patterns

Wow – last day of June! Summer is moving right along…and fourth of July is fast approaching. Today’s card uses a brand new release (available Jul 1 – tomorrow!) called Bauble Blooms bundle. Here is a photo of the stamp set & dies.

And here’s my first card made with this bundle.

I began with a piece of the Cherry Cobbler in the Regal Distressed Patterns SDSP and cut it 4 x 5 1/4. I made a diagonal cut approximately 1/2″ in from the top and up the right side, but you can make this smaller or larger – as you desire. I added the larger panel to a Basic Beige 4 x 5 1/4. I die cut a border using the Fancy Border Dies and Gold Foil and attached it along the edge. I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink then sprinkled Metallic WOW! Embossing Powder over and heat set. Love the mix of fonts on this sentiment! I stamped two images from the stamp set to create the decoration for the ornament: the leaves in Pretty Peacock ink and the flowers in Lost Lagoon ink. I die cut the ornament and the flowers at the same time, then added the flowers with dimensionals to the ornament. I die cut the ornament top from Gold Foil – again using the Bauble Blooms Dies. I put this in place on the card front with dimesnionals then added a double bow using the Gold Twisted Thread and attached it with a glue dot. These were added to the card base of Pretty Peacock.

I used the reserved cut of the Regal Distressed Patterns DSP to attach to the upper corner of a Basic White panel (3 3/4 x 5). I added another strip of gold foil die cut from Fancy Borders Dies. I stamped the sentiments from Bauble Blooms stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink. This was added to Basic Beige 4 x 5 14 and added to the inside of the card.

For the envelope… more of the Regal Distressed Patterns SDSP in Cherry Cobbler was adhered to the flap & trimmed to fit.

Stampin’ Up! NEW Charming Day

This is a suite of products that will be available Jul 1 to customers – and I am using only a couple of the items to make this card: the Charming Day bundle and Floral Charm 12×12 DSP. Let’s take a look at the bundle and the card.

Stampin' Up! Charming Day Sympathy card front

The card base is Blackberry Bliss with a panel of the Floral Charm DSP covering the entire front of the base. Next i took the Textured Notes Dies and die cut another piece of the same pattern of the DSP using the third largest of the dies.. I cut another piece of the Floral Charm DSP 2 3/8 x 3 7/8 and attached it to the die cut piece. Both of these were adhered directly to the card front. I used Basic Beige card stock and a stunning leaf die from the Charming Day Diesnto cut a leaf, then nused Early Espresso ink and anBlending Brush to very gently add some color to the leaf die cut. I then added this to the card front with dabs of liquid adhesive. I stamped the sentiment with Blackberry Bliss ink and Everyday Greetings stamp set, then fussy cut it. I sued mini dimensionals to add to the back & attach to the card front. I tied a double bow with Linen Thread & attached with a glue dot.

For the inside… I added a stgrip of 3/8 x 4 Floral Charm DSP to the bottom of the Basic White panel. I stamped the floral image in Blackberry Bliss ink using the Charming Day stamp set, then added the sentiment – again, Blackberry Bliss ink but this time using the Comforting Thoughts stamp set. This is obviously a sympathy card – and mentally a tough one because it’s so personal.

For the envelope… more of the same Floral Charm 12×12 DSP on the flap and trimmed to fit. On the front the same gorgeous floral stamp as used on the inside of the card in Blackberry Bliss ink from the Charming Day stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Diagonal DSP Just a Note

Good morning Friends… NJ has had a couple of days respite from the heat – a drop of 30 degrees to the 70’s! These are welcome temperatures! Today’s card is made with the new In Colors Secret Sea and Cloud Cover – and could be duplicated using all the new In Colors.

Stampin' Up! 2025-2027 DSP Diagonal card front

I began with the 2025-2027 In Color 6×6 DSP cut 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 and cut it on the diagonal, then turned the pieces 90 degrees holding them together, to cut on the other diagonal. (NOTE: This works with DSP that has a reverse side that is coordinating in color/ pattern, not conflicting. So choose carefully 😀) After cutting the DSP, decide which sections should be primary showing the pattern desired. Here I chose the left and right panels to be dominant and simply turned the other two panels to the reverse side. These were adhered to Basic White cut 4 x 5 1/4, dimensionals added to the back and attached to a Cloud Cover card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. On the front I added a length of 3/8″ Faux Linen Ribbon with Stampin’ Seal. Using the Mixed Labels Dies, I cut two labels, the larger in Secret Sea, the smaller in Basic White. I stamped the sentiment using the Mixed Labels stamp set in Secret Sea ink. I layered the two together with adhesive, popped dimensionals across the back on top & bottom and adhered it over the ribbon. The final touch was adding several 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls in Cloud Cover.

For the inside… simple… a 1/2 x 4 strip of the same 25-27 In Color DSP as used on the card front, and attached to the side of a Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 panel

Stampin' Up! DSP Diagonal card & envelope

For the envelope, more of the 25-27 In Color DSP on the flap trimmed to fit. On the front, using Cloud Cover ink and an image in the Mixed Labels stamp set, I stamped twice on the lower left corner. This gives a completed look and could even be used as a masculine card, despite the flowers.
