Stampin’ Up! Love of Leaves Hello Card

Today’s card uses the fabulous Love of Leaves Bundle. Have you noticed I can’t seem to stop using this bundle? The Stitched leaves Dies are really outstanding. This card was also inspired by the Paper Players Challenge.

And here’s the card…

Love of Leaves Hello card – #1

I started this with the Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP. There are so many beautiful plaids in this package, double-sided even, that it is sometimes difficult to decide which to use :O) This plaid really drew me in though, so here are the details.

  • Start with Cinnamon Cider card stock 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
  • Using the Rectangle Stitched Dies, die cut three rectangles from the Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP. Adhere these to a panel of Whisper White card stock 3 x 4 1/2 with liquid glue. Adhere this to the card base, centering.
  • Sponge a leaf from the Love of Leaves stamp set and stamp off, then stamp on a Whisper White scrap. I used Crushed Curry ink then Cinnamon Cider ink then a touch of Garden Green ink. (The first stamp leaf – die cut it and save for the inside of the card.) And why stamp off? The colors seemed way too bold and stamping off gives the stamp a soft hue. Oh, and I spritzed it with a bit of water before stamping it the second time.
  • Die cut this leaf with the Stitched Leaves Dies. I love how one of the dies embosses the leaf while the other does the die cut. Adhere to the center panel with dimensionals. Add a double Linen Thread bow with a glue dot.
  • The sentiment banner is a 3/8″ strip of Whisper White, stamped in Cinnamon Cider ink with the Love of Leaves stamp set. Add three 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots in Cinnamon Cider and attach with dimensionals to the card front – and voila!

For the inside…

Loves of Leaves Hello Card – #2
  • On a Whisper White panel 4 x 5 1/4 , add a Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP strip with liquid glue. I added a notched end for creativity :O).
  • Stamp the sentiment in Cinnamon Cider ink – and it comes from the Love of Leaves stamp set. The leaf is the one from the front that was the first stamp. You can see the colors are much more bold and for me, it was too strong for the front of the card, but I love it for here. It’s adhered with liquid glue.
  • Adhere this Whisper White panel to the inside of the card with liquid glue and the card is complete.

For the envelope…

Love of Leaves Hello Card – #3

This is a simple card – and I kept the envelope simple as well – by adding a panel of the Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP to the flap with liquid glue, trim to fit – and that was it. Lovely Lovely.

Options for this card…

#1 create a layer of texture by embossing a panel and adhering it directly to the card front, then adding the rest of the parts.

#2 die cut leaves for all three panels; adhere the two outside leaves with liquid glue while keeping the center leaf on dimesnionals. If adding leaves to all three panels, maybe don’t color them at all.

Ok, just thought I would add those couple of thoughts in hopes you will share what you create 😁. I hope you like today’s card. I really like the simplicity of it, the unfussiness.

Stampin’ Up Beautiful Autumn Bundle – yet again!

Today’s card is another focus of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP and the Beautiful Autumn Bundle. I can’t seem to get enough of these two! Here the card…

Beautiful Autumn Bundle again – #1

Isn’t this paper stunning? First of all, those little leaves are punched out of one of the Specialty papers in this pack – using what else? the Autumn Punch Pack! The background leaf – or cream colored one is from the Love of Leaves Bundle and is a leftover from a card a couple of days ago :O) I’m getting ahead of myself again. Let’s break down the details of the how…

  • Punch out several leavers & acorns from one of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP – using the Autumn Punch Pack. I wanted to make a wreath again and decided to use the Gold Hoop Embellishment as my base, but felt the leaves needed something else to ‘sit’ on. Since I had this leaf already lying on my table (Love of Leaves Bundle), that became the real foundation.
  • Layer leaves on a foundation – the leaf as mentioned above. Adhere each with liquid glue, curling the leaves just a bit before attaching. Add an acorn or two as well.
  • Tie a bow using the wonderful Terracotta Tile from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack. Adhere with a glue dot.
  • With a length of the Copper from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, add this adorable Acorn Trinket and tie directly to the Gold Hoop Elmbellishment forming a knot.
  • Attach the wreath with glue dots to a 3″ square of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP.
  • Adhere the DSP panel to a nearly 3 1/4″ square of Copper from the Brushed Metallic Papers – using Stampin Plus
  • Adhere these two papers to a 3 1/2″ square of Very Vanilla card stock with dimensionals.
  • Cut another panel of Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP 4 x 5 1/4 and adhere to the card base of Thick Very Vanilla 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2 – and your card front is complete!
  • For the inside…
Beautiful Autumn Bundle again – #2

I wanted to use stamps from this Beautiful Autumn stamp set to bring in the colors of the card front – and they were stamped on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock 4 x 5 1/4. Inks…I used Soft Suede ink for the outline of the oak leaf, full strength. I used Crumb Cake ink for the filler of this leaf; Cajun Craze ink for the maple leaf, stamped off twice for the filler; and Mint Macaron ink for the larger leaf. In the lower right corner, I stamped very softly, stamping off until there was only a bit of ink on the stamp. The sentiment used is from Beautiful Autumn stamp set as well – stamped in full strength Soft Suede ink. This panel was adhered with liquid glue directly to the card case – and voila!

For the envelope…

Beautiful Autumn Bundle again – #3

Adhere the same DSP as the large panel on the card front from the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP to a Very Vanilla envelope. Adhere a punched acorn with liquid glue – and yep – use that cute acorn punch from the Autumn Punch Pack!

Wow – was that easy or what – and another stunning card. This will be one of those hand delivered cards. The product list is below… Please use my October host code when ordering: HXXMKN2X to receive a free SU! item valued at $10 when your purchase is between $50-$150. Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Autumn Bundle

Goode morning! It’s early here and still very dark. I really like this time of day – a new day opening with all kinds of opportunities. My first … is to give thanks for this day and all that I have been given; I am so richly blessed. In that spirit, I share with you this monochromatic elegant card.

Beautiful Autumn Bundle – #1

I’ve shared just a corner of the card cuz I kinda like the ‘artsiness’ of it :O)Here are the details…

  • Begin with a card base of Thick Very Vanilla 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
  • Punch the fall ‘elements’ with the Autumn Punch Pack and Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP. I used the same paper as in yesterdays post – with the golds and coppers. I punched two gold leaves and one copper acorn.
  • Mount these with dimensional on a Very Vanilla square die cut with the smallest Rectangle Stitched Dies.
  • Mount this with liquid glue onto a panel of the Brushed Metallic card stock die cut with the Layering Squares Dies using the scallop edge. I die cut two of the gold and one of the copper to match the punched elements. Put dimensionals only on the top & bottom of these squares and and set aside.
  • Cut a panel of Very Vanilla cs 4 x 5 1/4 and wrap with ribbon, securing in back with Seal Plus. The ribbons I used were the copper from Basketweave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack and the two lengths of 1/16″ Gold Cord from the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack. Secure the copper ribbon with glue dots where they will be covered by the squares.
  • Adhere the squares, adhering the center squarer first then the other two. This gets them centered and equally spaced :O)
Beautiful Autumn Bundle – #2
  • Stamp the sentiment using the Beautiful Autumn stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a strip of Very Vanilla cs 1/2 x 4 and trim ends.
  • adhere the sentiment with dimensionals and place appropriately; your card front is complete!

The inside…

Beautiful Autumn Bundle, inside – #3
  • I had a 1/2 x 4 strip of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP handy and adhered it to a panel of Very Vanilla cs 4 x 5 1/4. I also had an extra little punched acorn and adhered it with liquid glue as well – and called it done.
  • Adhere to the card inside with liquid glue.

The envelope…

Beautiful Autumn Bundle – #4
  • Cover the envelope flap with a strip of the Gilded autumn Specialty DSP using liquid glue and trim to fit. My strip was 2 1/4 x 6.
  • Punch another leaf using the Autumn Punch Pack and adhere with liquid glue to a 1″ circle of Soft Suede cs. Adhere to the card front with liquid glue and done, done, done.

Beautiful, right? I really, really like this. Products for this card are listed below. Please use my October host code when ordering: HXXMKN2X to receive a free SU! item valued at $10 when your purchase is between $50-$150. If your order exceeds that 😁, you will still receive a gift from me PLUS any rewards offered by Stampin Up!

For the envelope… I simply cut a strip of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP and adhered it to the envelope flap and it was all done. This was such FUN to do – but then I lover coloring. There is something peaceful about it.

SU! Monday Fun

This time of year is all about autumn/ fall/ leaves/ shades of oranges and greensand yellows. Today’s card is no exception…

Gilded Autumn – #1

Isn’t this gorgeous? And the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper did most of the work 🙂 For extra embellishing I used the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper from the Forever Greenery Suite AND the ever shiny Artistry Blooms Adhesive-backed Gems. I also used the Brushed Metallic paper for the background which adds extra sparkle.

Here’s the step by step:

  • I chose two coordinating card stocks from the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP and cut them equally (card cuts are listed at the end of this post)
  • Adhere to the Brushed Metallic card stock (these come in bronze, copper & gold – I chose the copper)
  • Cut a banner using the Detailed Bands Dies and another piece of the Copper Brushed Metallic Paper
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Autumn Greetings stamp set in Cajun Craze ink on Very Vanilla card stock. Die cut with the oval from the Detailed Bands Dies.
  • Adhere the Very Vanilla oval to the Brushed Metallic panel using Stampin Plus.
  • Put dimensionals on the back of this sentiment banner and adhere, centered, to the card front.
  • I slipped various leaves from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Paper behind the banner, adhering with liquid glue.
  • Attach three Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Gems to the sentiment.
  • Attached this entire panel to a Thick Very Vanilla card base – and voila!
Gilded Autumn, inside – #2

For the inside…

  • Adhere a panel of Mint Macaron card stock to the card inside.
  • On a panel of Very vanilla card stock, stamp the leaves from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set: one in Crumb Cake ink, the other two in Early Espresso ink. Using the Light Crumb Cake Stampin Blend, color the Crumb Cake leaves.
  • Adhere this to the Mint Macaron with liquid glue and the card is complete 😏
Gilded Autumn – #3

The envelope…

  • I had some scraps of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP that coordinated – adhered the various strips with liquid glue – and DONE!

SU! Celebtate Sunflowers + Love of Leaves Bundles

Helllooooo… today is what I’m calling Terrific Tuesday. Why? Just because 😁 Here is a card created for sunshine and fall using Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP.

Celebrate Sunflowers + Love of Leaves Bundles
#1`

Is this sunflower gorgeous or what!!! How did I do that? The stamp itself does most of the work, I simply added a variety of inks.

  • Inks used for this stunning sunflower… Mango Melody, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Cajun Craze. The Cinnamon Cider is mostly around the inside rim, with the Cajun Craze in the very center. The other colors are randomly daubed on with… a sponge dauber.
  • With the Sunflowers Dies, I die cut the overlay from Mango Melody card stock and layered it on the inked flower with dimensionals. This gives it a wonderful 3-D effect.
  • I cut a panel of Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP and adhered it to a slightly larger panel of Early Espresso with liquid glue.
  • With the Whisper White panel, I ran it through the die cutting machine  with a die from the Stitched Leaves Dies that does not cut, but embosses these straight lines. It creates wonderful texture. hmmmm – can’t see it in the above photo…
  • I adhered this white panel to a card base of Mango Melody with liquid glue
  • I die cut three leaves using dies from Stitched Leaves dies – out of Granny Apple Green card stock
  • I had lying on my desk a wheat sheaf cut from the Sunflowers Dies – cut from  Crumb Cake card stock and lightly colored with Cajun Craze ink using a sponge dauber.
  • Assembly… the white panel is already on the Mango Melody card base. Adhere the Plaid Tidings 6×6 / Early Espresso panel with liquid glue. Attach the sunflower with dimensionals, then add the two lower leaves with liquid glue, then the third with dimensionals, slipping them under the flower. Add the wheat sheaf with liquid glue. Add the bow (using Gingham Ribbon in Bumblebee) with a glue dot.
  • The last step is the sentiment panel… I stamped the sentiment from Stitched Leaves stamp set in Early Espresso ink, then punched it out using the Rectangular Postage Punch. I adhered it to the card front with dimensionals. To give it some glam, I added several 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots and the card front was done.

Texture, glam, dimension – wow! Love this card!

The inside was super easy –

  • I stamped a leaf from the Sunflower Dies using the same process as the sunflower… using a sponge dauber and various inksGarden Green along the stem line, then Cajun Craze and Bumblebee. I used the outline die to cut it out.
  • I adhered a strip of adhesive sheet to the back of Mango Melody card stock then used a leaf die to die cut. Because it had adhesive on the back, I simply removed the backing and covered the already stamped leaf. This is the upper leaf.
  • With a scrap of Granny Apple Green card stock, I die cut another leaf from the Stitched Leaves Dies. This leaf has both embossing and is die cut! The same leaf that is on the front of the card.
  • Adhere both leaves with liquid glue to a panel of Whisper White and adhere this to the inside of the card with liquid glue.

SU! Sep. Team Projects

Hi Everyone – it’s Saturday! It’s amazing what cool weather can do…this is that in-between season, before the leaves turn and fall – cool temps, absolutely perfect for sleeping, not quite cool enough for a fire in the fireplace though. We live in a ‘shore community’ and have lots of folks visit due to the many beaches. By now though, the beaches are OURS again….😁

Today I want to share a couple of team projects we created virtually ‘together’ last Sunday. We had been sent pictures and dimensions and instructions via email, but then created them via ZOOM. What a great tool ZOOM has become! Anyhoo – these are fun projects and primarily use the Celebration Tidings Bundle. The stamp set has stamps for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas AND Valentines!  Here are three of the projects…

Celebration Tidings Bundle and Poinsettia Petals

Isn’t this beautiful? Yep – the bag is empty – I had no candy to fill it, but the Celebrations Labels Dies create the ‘fold-over’ and background for the Poinsettia Dies. Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP was used for the ‘label’, Shaded Spruce for the leaves, a bit of Brushed Metallic for the berries, Cherry Cobbler for the poinsettia and the gorgeous Beaded Pearls to accent the center of the poinsettia. . The cello bag pictured here is a retired commodity (unfortunately)n but SU! has Mosaic Gusseted Cello Bags that are very versatile.

celebrations Tidings Bundle
Project #2

Project #2 is a Christmas card… Celebration Tidings Bundle, Stitched Rectangles Dies and Winter Snow
Embossing Folder were the primary SU! items used. Another pattern from Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP was a major focus and I love how the Celebration Dies were used for a fold-over flap for a surprise addition. It was my personal addition of the Linen Thread bow and Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels for the card front. Let me share inside the flap and the card inside as well.

Celebration Tidings Bundle, inside flap

It was my decision to add the Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP to the top inside of the die cut. And here’s my reasoning… When using the Blends to color, the stamping element, their is some bleeding through and I didn’t like the way that looked. I simply used the smallest die to cut a piece of DSP to cover the bleeding through. It makes it look more complete and professional to me. Now for the inside…

Celebration Tidings C’mas card inside
Project #2

I chose to do no coloring for the inside – I liked the simplicity, and no additional sentiment needed – lots of room for sharing a friendly update!

Project #3 is a fall card, again using the Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP and the Celebration Tidings Bundle.

Another gorgeous project! Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP takes center stage again, but the stamped Celebration Die holds its own for sure. Colors here are Cinnamon Cider, Blackberry Bliss, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card stocks. Blends used for coloring are Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce. Markers used are Early Espresso and Bumblebee.

Thanks for letting me share our team projects! They are beautiful and it’s fun to gather, even if virtually, to encourage and learn from one another. Want to be able to do this? Join my team!

SU! Lots of Leaves Bundle

Hello again! The weather here in NJ is beginning to turn cool – and that means leavers are gonna fall…. and we have LOTS of trees on our property… which means raking, raking, raking. Before this sounds as though I’m in the complaint department – let’s look at today’s card – it’s an elegant fall card and it features the fabulous Love of Leaves bundle. Why a bundle? When purchasing a coordinating die set with a stamp set it’s 10% LESS when bought together – a great deal.

Love of Leaves Bundle #1

I started by choosing my paper – Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP. This guided me to Very Vanilla for a coordinating card stock (versus Whisper White). Thick Very Vanilla for the card base, Brushed Metallic 12 x 12 card stock to coordinate with the gold in the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP and Very Vanilla – that’s it for papers. I wanted the Brushed Metallic paper to create a bit of shadow for my leaf, so I die cut this gorgeous leaf from the center of the panel I had cut. This ‘hole’ is covered by both the Very Vanilla card base and the Specialty DSP on top – so no one knows (but you and me!). Here’s a picture of how it looks from the back side.

Love of Leaves – die cut from Brushed metallic
#2

I die cut a rectangle using the Stitched Rectangle Dies and the 3rd smallest die from Very Vanilla cs and also die cut this gorgeous leaf from Very Vanilla at the same time. One of the special things about this bundle is how the leaves have an embossing portion that creates these wonderful impressions. OK… adhere the Very Vanilla leaf to the Brushed Metallic leaf using Stampin Seal. Adhere the leaf to the stitched rectangle with dimensionals. Then adhere this to the center of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP with liquid glue, and this to the Brushed Metallic and then onto the card base. Now all it needs is a double length of Linen Thread tied into a bow and attached with a glue dot.

Love of Leaves
Bundle
#3

For the inside, because this particular sheet of Specialty DSP coordinates with Mint Macaron, I added a panel as a layer to the card base. The Very Vanilla got special treatment along the left edge with one of the embossing dies in this die set. Then I stamped the sentiment in Mint Macaron ink. Adhere this panel to the mint Macaron and the card is complete.

Love of Leaves inside
#4

For the envelope I used a strip of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP to adhere to the envelope flap. For the card front I ’embossed’ a portion of one of the leaves from the die set. Elegant!

Love of Leaves Bundle #5

Such a beautiful card and so EASY to do with this gorgeous bundle. One of the items that makes this card so simple to do is the new Metallic Plate that can be used with the new Cut & Emboss machine. Because the plate is metallic all over, once the die is placed on it, it doesn’t move!!! No need to hold it down with a sticky note or anything. It’s the best ever. So I’m going to show it on the product list, along with the die cutting machine, cuz these are ‘must haves’. Remember, when you shop with me and your order is over $50, you will receive a SU! item of your choice worth $10.

Amy’s Inkin Krew Blog Hop

Hi y’all… so exciting … Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop – theme is ‘Halloween Fun’. I can’t wait to see what everyone is sharing today…

I have to be up front with everyone, I’m not much into Halloween. My Mother was – she got all dressed up every year – she & Dad were in a Halloween group that got together only once a year – big party, costumes, never knew where the party was… they had a designated meeting place and would caravan for 30-45 minutes to the party site. I. was. horrified… My Mother always came up with these outlandish ideas for costumes and they most often won best costume. Me? Not so much. so, fair warning, my card is… tame, understated, not scary.

Pumpkins are an essential part of Halloween. We carve them – a family event usually, and do – well, not the traditional carving. It’s a witch or a cat, or a scarecrow, or something like that – not a pumpkin ‘face’ . We started this when we moved to NJ – 34 years ago and have had LOTS of fun with this. It’s usually pretty cold – and messy. I set up a table (or two or three) in the garage for carving. Did I say it’s messy? it’s messy! In the past we have had some friends over too, but you know, this year that probably won’t happen – it will just be family.

I digress… back to the card… Crushed Curry cs run through the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder creates a wonderful background. On this go three Stitches Shapes (squares, the smallest) adhered with liquid glue about 1/2″ from top and left side. Then comes the pumpkin part – so F-U-N… drop Stampin’ Ink on a wet wipe in the colors Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry. TIP:… I put my wet wipe on a glass that used to be part of a picture frame. The glass edges have been covered in Duct Tape or something similar so there are no raw edges that might cut. This keeps your work surface dry. Here’s what the wet wipe looks like…

Wet wipe technique

Next I took a piece of Pumpkin Pie cs and put it on top of the ink splotch. This gives the paper an uneven color – as you see in the pumpkins. I then die cut the two pumpkins with the  Autumn Essential Dies. I die cut another set in plain Pumpkin Pie as I wanted the detail of the pumpkin plain, not colored. I also die cut the outline of the two pumpkins. I laid the detail pumpkin on. top of the outline pumpkin and adhered the two together with liquid glue. Then I took the colored pieces of the pumpkin and inserted them into the appropriate fitting place for each pumpkin. Voila – gorgeous pumpkins! These were adhered to the card front embossed panel with dimensionals. I added a Linen Thread bow by tying it around the larger pumpkin stem and frayed the ends. I added Curry embossed panel to a piece of Cinnamon Cider with liquid glue. This got dimensionals and was adhered to a Pumpkin Pie card base. For a bit of glitz and fun I added Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins – five of them.

For the inside… Very Vanilla cs and Festive Corners stamp set… Memento Black ink for the web, wet wipe inks for the spider and for the word SPOOKY. It isn’t very spooky really, but nonetheless, I like it! I adhered this to Cinnamon Cider cs with liquid glue and then into the card base, also with liquid glue. And the card is complete…

For the envelope I embossed a panel of Pumpkin Pie cs with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and adhered it to the envelope flap with liquid glue, trimmed it to fit. I then stamped ‘Happy Haunting’ with ink from the baby wipe onto the front of the envelope. This sentiment comes from the Celebration Tidings stamp set. (this set is so versatile!)
