Stampin’ Up! Congrats with Happiness Abounds

It’s Saturday! What this means for us is… we rehearse with the orchestra this morning for our patriotic concert tomorrow afternoon. Oh so excited! Having an orchestra just adds so much to the music. Sometimes I want to just listen to them and I forget we’re supposed to come in 😦 So, what are your plans for the day? I hope it’s something you enjoy – such as playing in your craft room, or getting together with a couple of friends to do something fun together. For now, let me show you this latest card.

Congrats w/ Happiness Abounds.1

This is some of the new Designer Series Paper called Textile Chic Specialty Paper. It’s gorgeous! Rather modern looking. Interesting color combos. Because of the fun shapes on the paper I also used the fabulous Beautiful Shapes Dies to add more pattern. Fun, right? The sentiment of course, is from the Happiness Abounds stamp set and I embossed that in gold. And then – the Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots add a shiny touch. Here’s the scoop…

  • Card base is Thick Basic White: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Texture Chic Specialty DSP: 4 x 5 1/4; 2 x a bit more than 3 1/2 (create banner tip); 3/4 x 4 + banner tip
  • Pool Party: 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 + scraps
  • Basic White: 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 (for sentiment panel on front); 4 x 5 1/4

This card is so quick and easy to create: the Texture Chic Specialty Paper is adhered directly to the card base with liquid glue. Next layer is the Pool Party Panel adhered directly, then the Texture Chic Specialty banner also adhered directly. I used an embossing buddy to clear the Basic White piece of any static, stamped the sentiment from Happiness Abounds in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Gold embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. I die cut the piece with the second largest of this hexagon shape die from the Beautiful Shapes Dies and adhered it with dimensionals. I die cut the additional pieces from Pool Party scraps using more of the Beautiful Shapes Dies. Some were adhered with liquid glue and the rest with dimensionals. The final touch was the Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots and the card front was done.

Congrats w/ Happiness Abounds.inside

On the Basic White panel I stamped the sentiment in Memento ink from the Happiness Abounds stamp set. I added the banner tip which I had saved 😏 with liquid glue underneath. And finally I added a 3/4″ strip of the Texture Chic Specialty Paper at the bottom. Finis!

Congrats w/ Happiness Abounds.3

For the envelope, more of the Texture Chic Specialty Paper for the flap and that was it. Now let me tell you… a friend had asked for a card to be given to a family moving, purchasing their first home. I didn’t have anything like that on hand – that’s a pretty specific need. So I began looking at sentiments and thought – I like this! My inspiration for the card layout came from page 98 of the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. Do you have one of those yet? If not, and you do not have a demonstrator, I would be glad to send you one.

Stampin’ Up! Triple Stamping w/ Cottage Rose

Hello again… it’s FRIDAY! Do you have big plans for the weekend? We have a concert on Sunday and rehearsal with orchestra from 9-12 on Saturday morning. Plus the weather is supposed to be rainy, windy, cold – so I won’t be playing in the garden for sure!

We had card class today & I chose to use the Cottage Rose stamp set for a bit of triple stamping. It is really quick and easy and makes a beautiful card that… depending on sentiment used, could be birthday or sympathy or thinking of you. I stuck with just the single stamp set and chose, well, you’ll see. :O)

Triple stamping w/ Cottage Rose.1

Isn’t this just lovely? And if you wanted, you could choose to color one of the roses, leaves, but I really like this just the way it is. Perhaps I’ll do one and color it, just to see if I like it. Anyway – here are the details on how to do this:

  • Cut the card stocks
    • Sweet Sorbet: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4; 4 1/4 x 3; 3 1/4 x 2
    • Basic White: 4 x 5 1/4 (2); 4 x 2 3/4; 3 x 1 3/4
  • Stamp sentiment in upper left corner of smallest panel of Basic White: Memento ink using the Cottage Rose stamp set
  • Layer Basic White panels together & adhere with either removable adhesive (which SU! does not sell!) or you may use glue dots.
  • Stamp with Basic White layers in place all over the panels. I recommend pressing firmly but do not wiggle, just press firmly.
Triple stamping example
  • Take Basic White layers apart being careful not to tear paper where adhered together
  • Add largest panel to card front; add next layer to Sweet Sorbet layer then to card front, matching flower patterns; add top layer to Sweet Sorbet panel, put dimensionals on back and add to card front.
  • Almost done… add two Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels… and card front is done :O)
Triple Stamping w/ Cottage Rose.1

Now for the inside: With the remaining 4 x 5 1/4 panel, stamp the single rose from the Cottage Rose stamp set in Sweet Sorbet ink and add to the inside of the card.

Cottage Rose, inside

For the envelope, I stamped the same rose from Cottage Rose stamp set in Sweet Sorbet on the envelope front. Ink the stamp and continue inking, stamping for the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up! Twigs & Sprigs Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hello there! It’s our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop and I’ve a fun card to share with you today. We have a sketch challenge and I’m using three of the new In Colors and a couple of embossing folders to share with you.

And here’s our sketch challenge for this week.

And here’s what I created for the challenge… embossing folders to create texture and share in new product!

Twigs & Sprigs EF.1

Super fun – so out of my ordinary with color combo, but I love it! I started with a Tahitian Tide card base, and cut another of the same card stock in 4 1/4 x 5 12, embossed that piece with the Stripes & Splatters Embossing Folder (EF) using the splatters EF and adhered directly to the front of the card.

I cut a panel of Starry Sky 2 7/8 x 3 7/8 and put dimensionals on the back. Next I ran a panel of Parakeet Party cut to the same size through the Cut & Emboss machine with the Twigs & Sprigs EF, layered it off-center on the Starry Sky panel and adhered the two together with liquid glue, then with dimensionals on the back of the Starry Sky piece, added them both to the card front. I cut a strip of Starry Sky 5/8 x about 2 1/2, stamped the sentiment from Charming Sentiments in VersaMark ink. I then sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool. I added two 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots in Parakeet Party to the banner, put dimensionals on the back and added it to the card. DONE!

Twigs & Sprigs, inside

For the inside, I again used the Charming Sentiments stamp set to stamp the sentiment directly on the inside of the card in Starry Sky ink. I did this using the Stamparatus… cuz I needed the next layer, the Basic White panel to be in the perfect spot.

Twigs & Sprigs, inside.2
Twigs & Sprigs, inside.3
Twigs & Sprigs, inside

With the Basic White panel in place, I stamped it with Starry Sky without re-inking, removed the Basic White panel and die cut the words with the new & fabulous Sentiment Silhouette Dies (coordinates with the Charming Sentiments stamp set and as a bundle is 10% off!). I then adhered the Basic White panel to the inside of the card & voila. :O) I hadn’t done this before and am really pleased with the way it turned out. Isn’t that fun?

OK, card was complete, time to do the envelope…remember the words die cut from the Basic White inside panel? I adhered them with liquid glue to the envelope front. For the flap, I ran a piece of Starry Sky card stock through the Stripes & Splatters EF, using the stripes EF, adhered it to the flap & trimmed to fit. Bingo.

Let me tell you about the Twigs & Sprigs Embossing Fold & Die – it’s two parts… the die cuts all the twigs & sprigs from the EF so they can be used in a fun way on another card. I was playing you see, wanted to know what it would do… and it’s run through together, at the same time. To create this card front, I didn’t use the die, just the EF. You understood that, right? Good! Just wanted to be sure. 😏

OK – hop… To continue the hop, click the next button or click on a name to visit a specific blog. Either way, enjoy this creative bunch. Thanks for joining us today!

Stampin’ Up! Sending Smiles take Two

Happy post Mother’s Day – I hope all those nurturing women realize how precious they are! Today’s card will put a mile on your face: bright, cheerful and well, just lovely. Let’s have a look.

Sending Smiles take 2

I’ve used the new Sending Smiles bundle (coordinating Sending Dies), Fern 3D Embossing Folder (it’s gorgeous!) 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 DSP and 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots. For the sentiment I used Nature’s Prints stamp set – also a newbie, Lovely Layers Vellum and the Banners Pick a Punch. You could take this same layout and create this card using all the new In Colors. I haven’t, but you could. Let’s do the step by step…

  • Run a panel of Basic White through the Fern 3D embossing Folder (4 1/8 x 5 3/8). This folder makes a very nice impression. If you want it a bit more, you can lightly spray it with water and it leaves a deeper impression.
  • Add this panel to a Thick Basic White card base with liquid glue.
  • Cut a piece 2 x 3 1/2 from Sweet Sorbet 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 DSP
  • Cur another piece from the Layering Vellum pack that is 2 x 3
  • Place the two panels at an angle on the card front and adhere. To do that with the vellum panel use just a bit of Stampin’ Seal.
  • Stamp the flower in Sweet Sorbet on a Basic White scrap & die cut. Set aside.
  • Stamp the larger stem in the new Parakeet Party ink on Basic White. Stamp it again in Garden Green and die cut both. I removed the Garden green leaves from the stem with paper snips and added them to the Parakeet Party stem, off-setting a bit so both colors show: the single leaf was added with liquid glue, the others with dimensionals. Adhere the stem directly to the card front with liquid glue, then add the flower on dimensionals
  • I added a banner (5/8 by about 3 3/4) from the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 DSP in Sweet Sorbet. The end was trimmed with the Banners Pick a punch, then adhered with dimensionals.
  • I used Nature’s Prints stamp set for my sentiment, stamped in Memento ink – cuz I really really like the font. This was die cut with the amazing Stylish Shapes Dies. Add this to the card front, dimensionals on the top & liquid glue on the banner.
  • For a final touch, I popped on two 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots in Parakeet Party and the card front was done.
Sending Smiles take two, inside

I kept the inside super easy but wanted the colors to come through. A 4 x 5 1/4 panel of the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 DSP in Sweet Sorbet was added to the inside with liquid glue. Then I cut a panel of Basic White 3 3/4 x 5, stamped the flower in Sweet Sorbet, center with Daffodil Delight and the stem with Parakeet Party, adhered it to the inside and bingo.

Sending Smiles take 2

For the envelope, I created the very same flower for the envelope front: stem in Parakeet Party, flower in Sweet Sorbet and flower center in Daffodil Delight. The flap got more of the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 DSP, this time in Parakeet Party – done, done. Love how cheerful and friendly this card is.

Stampin’ Up! Retiring + New

Happy Saturday! It’s the weekend and tomorrow is Mother’s Day ~ are you doing anything special? Whatever you plan ~ enjoy, have fun, appreciate, make a difference. I have two cards for you today, both very, very similar and inspired by Patty Bennett. Here is what I created.

New Horizon DSP + Sailboat Punch.1
New Horizon DSP+ Sailboat Punch.2

The circles are die cut from New Horizons 6×6 DSP using the Circle Dies. The sailboat & sails are stamped in Night of Navy for card 1; card 2 is Night of Navy for the mast/boat and Crushed Curry for the sails and punched with the Sailboat Punch. The waters in each are stamped in Pool Party ink using the Let’s Set Sail stamp set. On card 1, the sentiment is taken from Simply Succulents stamp set, a carrying over set from last years annual catalog and stamped in Night of Navy ink. On card 2, the sentiment is taken from Cup of Tea bundle, stamped in Balmy Blue ink and die cut with the Stitched Rectangles dies. Card 1 also has Rhinestone Basic Jewels colored with Pool Party Stampin’ Blends. Both card fronts were stamped on a Basic White panel and die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies, mounted on dimensionals and adhered to Heart & Home Memories & More cards & Envelopes pack.

New Horizons DSP + Sailboat Punch.1 inside
New Horizons DSP + Sailboat Punch.2 inside

For the inside, card 1 is stamped with the birds from Let’s Set Sail stamp set in Night of Navy ink. Card 2 has a striped background using one of the cards in the Heart & Home Memories & More Card Pack, with a Basic White Stitched Rectangle die cut adhered to it. Both of these cards are versatile and could be considered masculine cards. Love how easily they came together. I’m going to use the rest of this Heart & Home Memories & More Cards & Envelopes Pack cuz it’s perfect for this! And since we belong to a yacht club, they will make a perfect gift set to someone special. :O)

Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds Wedding Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! It is always fun to see what others do with a sketch challenge ~ what would you create? I would love to see what you would do with the below challenge: share it with me, would you?

It’s close to that TGIF day and I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend. As for me, I head out today to attend a convention IN PERSON… which, due to the pandemic, we haven’t been able to do for two years! It seems forever since we have been together ~ and it has. I return Sat. late afternoon. So if I don’t respond to your request for something right away, it’s because I’m ‘conventioning’ and will get to you ASAP.

Below is the sketch challenge ~ and below that is the card I created for it. It’s a wedding card for a friends daughter who is getting married ~ and it’s already out the door :O).

Often times wedding cards are extremely feminine and frilly. For some reason, I thought of the groom and how, well, does he feel left out with all the frilliness ‘n stuff. This card is different, in that I mixed Designer Series Papers from two packs: stripes from Sun Prints 12 x 12 DSP and the floral from Hues of Happiness 12 x 12 DSP. Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the sentiment panel for a bit of glitter & glam. The ribbon is a two-in- one… meaning Pool Party Sheer Ribbon tied in a bow, then White Crinkle Seam Binding tied right onto it. And I love how it came together: feminine but not too fussy.

Happiness Abounds.1

Step by step:

  • Adhere panel of Sun Prints 12 x 12 DSP to the card front with liquid glue – or adhesive of choice.
  • Die cut with Stitched Rectangle Dies, the floral pattern from Hues of Happiness 12 x 12 DSP.
  • Cut a larger piece of card stock 1/8″ larger all around – this is Night of Navy. Adhere floral die cut panel to the Night of Navy with liquid glue or adhesive of choice. Put dimensionals on back of the panel and center it on card front
  • Tie Pool Party Sheer Ribbon into bow, then tie White Crinkle Ribbon onto it, making it a two-in-one bow :O) Add to the end of the panel with a glue dot
  • Stamp sentiment on a Basic White scrap in Night of Navy ink, trim ends as shown. Put dimensionals on back and adhere, overlapping bow. The sentiment is from Happiness Abounds stamp set
  • Add three Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a bit of glam – and bingo, the card front is complete!
Happiness Abounds.2

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Happiness Abounds stamp set in Night of Navy ink on a Basic White panel. I then stamped this sweet floral stamp in Night of Navy ink, colored it with Stampin’ Blends Pool Party and Color Lifter. For a final touch I added some Crystal Effects for a bit of highlighting. Hopefully you can see that in the photo below. (OOPS! I just looked in the 2022-2023 AC and Crystal Effects is no longer listed as a product SU! sells, aargh!) This Basic White panel was adhered to a piece of Night of Navy card stock, then adhered to the inside of the Pool Party card base. – And done!

Happiness Abounds.3

For the envelope, I added more of the Sun Prints 12 x 12 DSP to the flap & trimmed it to fit. For the front of the envelope, I used one of the marvelous dies in the Blossoming Happiness Dies that coordinates with the Happiness Abounds stamp set (buy it as a bundle for 10% off!)- and die cut one of the roses from the Hues of Happiness 12 x 12 DSP. These dies & the paper coordinate so well! There are several dies that can be used on the DSP – yay! SU! really knows how to pull things together :O) Oh, this rose was adhered with liquid glue to the envelope front then trimmed to fit the envelope.

Stampin’ Up! Sneaky Peek w/ Botanical Layers Bundle

Good Tuesday everyone! The 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and ordering will soon be available to absolutely everyone… yay! I DO hope you will like the new In Colors. Personally, I really, really like them. And today’s card shows off a couple of them: Starry Night and Parakeet Party, oh and Orchid Oasis. The Designer Series Paper I used is more new issue: In Color 6×6 in Starry Night, Sun Prints 12 x 12 and of course the vellum is Lovely Layers Vellum (part of the Botanical Layers Bundle). There are a couple of other new products on the card as well: 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots – Orchid Oasis and Metallic Woven Ribbon in Parakeet Party. WooHoo! If you have a catalog already, take a peek at pg. 93 for my inspiration. Love the color combination!

Botanical Layers.1

I began with a card base of Starry Night card stock and adhered a panel of the 6 x 6 DSP Assortment in Starry Night. I then cut a piece of Sun Prints 12 x 12 (there are some gorgeous patterns in the pack!) and adhered it cockeyed, intentionally :O) I stamped the leaf design from the Botanical Layers stamp set in Orchid Oasis ink, kind of a purpley blue and heat set it with the heat tool to help it dry.It WILL dry on it’s own, but it will take a bit and I didn’t want to wait. I die cut the leaves from the Meadow Dies (coordinates with Quiet Meadow stamp set) and Basic White card stock then used a Blending Brush and Pale Papaya ink to gently add color. I also die cut the butterfly from the same Meadows Dies and Pale Papaya card stock then used the same Blending Brush to add more color to the butterfly. I added the white branch of leaves to the card with glue dots. I stamped the additional leaves on a Basic White piece in Parakeet Party ink and fussy cut it. This was an easy process by the way… I added this over the white leaves with dimensionals. I cut a length of Parakeet Party Metallic Ribbon and slipped it under the green leaves, adhering with a glue dot. I stamped the sentiment from the Botanical Layers stamp set in Orchid Oasis ink and trimmed the Basic White strip as you see it. A single dimensional under the right section of the sentiment and a dab of liquid glue on the left adhered it to the card. Two final touches: add the butterfly with mini dimensionals, then add the 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots in Orchid Oasis. And the card front is complete.

Botanical Layers.1

For the inside I stamped the leaves in Orchid Oasis ink using the Botanical Layers stamp set, then added a strip of the 6×6 DSP Assortment in Starry Night to the bottom of the Basic White panel. This was added to the inside of the card and voila – the inside was also complete.

Botanical Layers.2

For the envelope, I stamped the leaves in Parakeet Party ink on the front of the envelope using the Botanical Layers stamp set. To the flap I added 6×6 DSP Assortment in Parakeet Party and trimmed it to fit. Done, done!

Botanical Layers.3

Stampin’ Up! W-V Fun Fold w/ Abstract Beauty and Butterflies

Fun Folds are just that – f-u-n to create. And this one is so easy, although it looks complicated, it isn’t. I’m continuing with a theme of sorts, Bugs or Butterflies using the Abstract Beauty 4 x 6 DSP to attract the butterflies. Let’s take a peek…

Brilliant Wings Dies & Abstract Beauty.1

Here you can easily see the W-V fold of the card and I’ve added three of the Brilliant Wings Dies in various places. Cut out of the DSP or vellum or combining the two papers, the butterflies appear almost real. Here’s another photo with the card flat.

Brilliant Wings Dies & Abstract Beauty.2

You may be saying, but there’s no place write… so flip the card over and this is the perfect place for notes.

W-V Fun Fold, back.3

Night of Navy was used for the card base, and Crushed Curry card stock to coordinate with the DSP. In these photos, it almost looks orange! On the butterflies are holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels to add some glam; Basic White for the sentiments stamped in Night of Navy ink come from Artfully Layered stamp set. I embossed the Crushed Curry card stock using the Hive 3D EF prior to adhering them. Here are a few more photos… and yes, there are two cards, so you will notice the butterflies are cut from other papers in the Abstract Beauty 4 x 6 DSP pack and the envelope flaps are other papers in the pack.

This is a really fun card to make ~ let me see if I can give you some pointers for putting it together. Card cuts are listed below. One of the important parts is making certain that sentiment on the back panel is centered. I tend to use my grid paper to line things up just right.

Adhere the floral panel and the embossed pieces in the appropriate places using the photos above as your guide. Adhere the sentiment panels (the Night of Navy square) to the far right panel, again using your grid paper to make certain it is centered. The reason for this is… the V panel when the card is closed, covers this completely, so you want it just right. :O)

Adhering the V panel before decorating the card is next: lay the V panel on top of the sentiment panel, centering it. No glue at this point! Now close that inner W to see where it will ‘sit’ on the W (you are adhering the V to the fold that is closest to the flat portion of the card!); then lift the W, add a bit of glue to the V on the portion that will be adhered to the card and close that first W on the V. Once that dries sufficiently, close the card completely and fold the embossed portion of the V onto the card front panel (the floral piece). Note where that will ‘sit’, open the card and add liquid glue to that portion of the V, close the card again and adhere. Bingo! Now decorate as desired. YAY!!! You did it 😏

Abstract Beauty 4 x 6 DSP is not carrying over to the new cattie. Nor are the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Brilliant Wings Dies IS carrying over, just not in the bundle with the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set. Night of Navy & Crushed Curry card stocks ARE in the new cattie, as are Basic White products. Do share with me what you create with this wonderful fun fold :O).

Products to make this card are listed below so feel free to order away. :O) If you do not have a demonstrator and need an Annual Catalog please reach out to me (the 2022-2023 AC) – happy to send one to you. AND… I have the Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog and can send that as well – ordering from that catalog ends May 2! When ordering, please also use current host code: 22R4JPCG. Stampin’ Up! Paradise Palms for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

WooHoo! It’s time for another fabulous Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. Below is the sketch challenge ~ and just so you know, I was very liberal in my interpretation of the sketch :O)

And here’s my card… don’t you just love these palm trees? They were die cut with the Palms Dies from the sparkly Ombre Specialty Paper (why haven’t I used this paper more often???). I’m not certain the variation shows very much in the picture, but it does in person. In my interpretation of this sketch, I moved the center panel to the bottom of the card and in lieu of flowers I bordered the panel with grasses, also die cut using the Palms Dies. As I mentioned – loose interpretation.

The background paper is the wonderful Pattern Party DSP adhered directly to the Flirty Flamingo card base. I adhered the left palm with liquid glue, then the center palm with dimensionals cut down to fit and liquid glue at the bottom of the trunk. The right palm tree was also adhered with liquid glue, slipping it under the center palm and trimming the trunk to the proper length. I cut two of the grasses to fit below the palms: in Garden Green and the new Parakeet Party card stocks. The banner is 3/4″ and trimmed at each end with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink using the Through It Together stamp set. I adhered the banner with liquid glue and dimensionals along the bottom and right end. I die cut two more of the grasses, this time from Mossy Meadow card stock and adhered them with liquid glue and dimensionals. I added several (too many???) Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels both to the banner and in the palm trees. Those in the trees represent coconuts! (You know, vivid imagination.) My final step was the sun, cuz something was missing on the card without it. I die cut the sun, again using one of the dies in the Palm Dies, from a sticky note, then with a Blending Brush and So Saffron ink, colored it in. And the card front was done.

Paradise Palms Bundle.1

For the inside, I stamped the small palms in Mango Melody ink after adhering this wonderful panel of
Flirty Flamingo card stock die cut with another of the Palm Dies. The strip was adhered with dabs of liquid glue (isn’t it a fun addition?). The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink, again using the Through It Together stamp set. All of this was on a Basic White panel that was adhered to the inside of the card when completed.

Paradise Palms Bundle.2

The envelope got another small group of the palms stamped in Mango Melody ink. More of the Pattern Party DSP was adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit. Done, done! This was another one of those cards created out of my usual comfort zone. Experimenting is a good thing! It was inspired by a T-shirt I saw advertised with palm trees across the front and a striped background.

Stampin’ Up! Abstract Beauty Support

Hi Everyone! TGIF!!! Whew – long, busy week – how about you? And here it is almost weekend and well, still full plate. Not complaining, just sayin’… Today’s card is not my usual style, it’s a bit on the modern side. The thing is – I really like this paper :O). It’s called Abstract Beauty 4 x 6 DSP. This sort of ‘brush stroke’ look is modern and fun. The butterfly definitely softens the look.

Abstract Beauty Support.1

Several layers here, but that is what makes it fun – it keeps the eye moving.

  • Card base is Thick Basic White 8 1/2 x 5 12 scored at 4 1/4
  • Abstract Beauty background layer is 4 x 5 3/8 adhered to the card base
  • The next panel is also Abstract Beauty 3 x 3 1/2 and adhered.
  • The stripe layer is yet another panel of Abstract Beauty 1 1/2 x 5 and adhered directly
  • On a 5/8″ strip of Basic White, stamp the sentiment in Just Jade ink. The sentiment comes from Through It Together stamp set. I punched the one end with the Tailored Tag Punch. This was attached with dimensionals.
  • Die cut a Vellum circle with the Layering Circles Dies.
  • Adhere the butterfly about in the center of the circle with liquid glue just along the body.
    • The butterfly was created by using a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz inks on a Basic White piece, then die cutting with the Brilliant Wings Dies.
  • Add dimensionals to the Vellum circle but just along the body of the butterfly. The reason is the dimensionals will show if added anywhere else and here they are hidden but still give dimension to the piece.
  • Add several Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels on the circle, butterfly and on the sentiment panel. Done!
Abstract Beauty Support, inside

For the inside I added a scrap of the background Abstract Beauty DSP with liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink – from the Through It Together stamp set. And the final touch here – two of the adorable and perfect Brushed Brass Butterflies. The Basic White panel was adhered to the inside of the card and voila ~ the card is complete.

Abstract Beauty Support

The envelope got another bit of the same Abstract Beauty 4×6 DSP to the flap.

Products to make this card are listed below so feel free to order away :O) If you do not have a demonstrator and need an Annual Catalog please reach out to me (the 2022-2023 AC will be available as of May 2!!!) – happy to send one to you.
