Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Branches & Flight & Airy for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

We have a fun sketch challenge for our hop today and I’m choosing to again highlight the Flight & Airy DSP – because I love this DSP and because it’s a FREE Product with a qualifying order that ends at close of day MT 2/29. I paired it with Seasonal Branches Bundle from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog that is just gorgeous and coordinates!

My sentiment banner is in a different location than the sketch, but other than that – pretty darn close to the sketch. :O)

My card base is Misty Moonlight. I cut a piece of the Flight & Airy DSP to 4 x 5 1/4, layered a coordinating piece of the Flight & Airy DSP cut 2 1/4 x 5 1/8 and added that to the left side as shown. I added both of these to a Basic White 5 1/8 x 5 3/8 for a contrast & border. I die cut from another piece of Flight & Airy DSP, the two branches using the Seasonal Branches Dies and added them with tiny dabs of liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink on a Basic White strip using the Seasonal Branches stamp set. To follow the sketch, I added another strip of Misty Moonlight card stock to the sentiment with liquid glue, put dimensionals on the back and added it to the card. I added Iridescent Foil Gems for accent. This completed front was added to the card base with dimensionals

For the inside… on a Basic White piece I stamped the Misty Moonlight sentiment from Seasonal Branches stamp set and adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

For the envelope… more of the Flight & Airy DSP adhered to the flap & trimmed to fit. On the front, I fussy cut with my paper snips the sweet bird from the Flight & Airy DSP and added it with liquid glue.

Stampin’ Up! Layered Florals 3D EF Sympathy Card

Hello folks. The Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder is just beautiful. I’ve paired it with the Thoughtful Expressions Bundle and Lifetime of Love stamp set, all of which may be found in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog.

I used a Thick Basic White card base and paired it with Azure Afternoon card stock. I ran the Azure Afternoon panel through the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder to get this marvelous deep impression. I pulled out the Whisper White re-inker and put a couple of drops on an acrylic block. With a sponge dauber, I tapped into the ink then swiped the dauber gently across the raised parts of the panel. As various portions dried the ink became lighter and I kept applying where I wanted a bit more of the white, until I was satisfied.I adhered this to the card base with liquid glue. I used my embossing buddy to clean all static from a Basic White scrap, stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with the heat tool. I love watching the silver as it melts and becomes shiny. The sentiment is from Thoughtful Expressions stamp set. I die cut the piece with the Thoughtful Expressions Dies. I looped a piece of the Silver trim from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo Pack, to make it look like a bow and adhered it in place with glue dots. I added dimensionals to the die cut sentiment piece and attached it over the bow. As a final touch, I added three Festive Pearls in Silver.

For the inside… I again used the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder to create an edge pattern on the sentiment insert. I stamped the sentiment in Azure Afternoon ink using the Thoughtful expressions stamp set.

For the envelope… I embossed the flap with the same Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder, then stamped this lovely flower in Azure Afternoon ink. The flower is so similar to the large flowers of the embossing folder, I simply HAD to use it. It comes from the Lifetime of Love stamp set.(which also has gorgeous coordinating dies BTW!)

Stampin’ Up! Lasting Joy with Hello, Irresistible DSP

Happy Wednesday, middle of the week. Hope it has been good so far. A friend of mine is going through a hard time and I feel really badly for her. So what do I do – besides call – I make a card. Imagine that! :O)

Stampin' Up! Lasting Joy w/ Hello, Irrisistible DSP

I layered a panel of the Hello, Irresistible DSP (ON SALE JUN 1 and an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE!) to a Basic Black piece just a smidge larger, wrapped a length of the Bordered Ribbon in Lost Lagoon around the two and adhered them directly to the Thick Basic White card base. Using the 1 3/4″ circle punch (ONLINE EXCLUSIVE), I punched two circles: one from another piece of the Hello, Irresistible DSP and another from Basic Black. I adhered the two together with an upper edge of the black showing. I put these two circle on dimensionals and added them to the card front over the ribbon. I added a length of the same ribbon, slipping it under the ribbon already in place, tied a single knot and scooted it close to the circle. I placed a glue dot under the knot to hold it in place. Lasting Joy stamp set has some really nice sentiments. I stamped this on a Basic White in Memento ink and trimmed the strip down to size. I added a Basic Black strip behind it with liquid glue and trimmed the ends, adhering these on the circle with liquid glue. I added three Loose Frosted Dots for charm.

For the inside, to carry through with the Basic Black, I added a panel to the inside of the card. I stamped a Basic White panel with Memento ink for the sentiment (yes, Lasting Joy stamp set!) and the sweet flower in Lost Lagoon and Flirty Flamingo inks. Yep – these come from Lasting Joy stamp set! I added another of the Loose Frosted Dots to the flower center. This panel was added to the black piece and the card was complete.

For the envelope… more of the Hello, Irresistible DSP to the flap and another leaf & flower stamped on the card front. Again, Lasting Joy stamp set, Lost Lagoon and Flirty Flamingo inks. The colors on this card are soothing and the words are hopefully comforting for my hurting friend. She tells me she saves all my cards and sometimes will display them together on her mantle. Isn’t that just the sweetest?

Stampin’ Up! Irresistible Blooms Sympathy

Hello Monday! This is the beginning o a new week… do you have special plans? So far, mine is the routine stuff and right now, that works for me. Today’s card uses the Irresistible Blooms Bundle from the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES because I haven’t shared it yet 😀 and I need to send it. It’s super soft in color cuz’ the pain of loss in this instance is really hard.

Stampin' Up! Irresistible Blooms Sympathy.1

I used Shimmery White card stock for my base and added a strip of the Hello, Irresistible 6×6 DSP, a little less than 1 1/2 in width . I next die cut the ‘overlay’ from another piece of Shimmery card stock using the Irresistible Blooms Dies and adhered with dabs of glue. If I had been thinking… just sayin’… I would have used an adhesive sheet under the Shimmery Paper to do the delicate die cut – it would have gone on so easily! Next I die cut the double leaf and the rose from two different sheets of the Hello, Irresistible 6×6 DSP and the delicate white leaves were die cut from regular Basic White. The large rose was added with dimensionals and the leaves slipped under with dabs of liquid glue, layering as shown. I stamped the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stamp set in Petal Pink ink. I added three Loose Frosted Dots in yellow and the front was done.

For the inside, I stamped the smaller rose image in Petal Pink ink, then added the ‘blotches’, also in Petal Pink ink. Both come from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set. I adhered a 5/8″ strip of the same Hello, Irresistible 6×6 DSP to the left side. Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Petal Pink ink using the Inspired Thoughts stamp set.

The envelope is very similar to the inside of the card: small rose stamped in Petal Pink ink followed by adding blotches in same ink – both from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set. A piece of the Hello, Irresistible 6×6 DSP was adhered to the flap & trimmed to fit.

Stampin Up! Fancy Flora Sympathy for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the weekly Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop… and we have a sketch challenge today.

You may have come from the fabulous Tara or you may have jumped right in here… however you arrived, welcome! You will find some mighty fine creations today, so make the rounds and enjoy.

Fun sketch and pretty easy to follow. My card base is Thick Basic White with a layer of Sahara Sand angled ‘catywompas’. The top layer is the Fancy Flora 6×6 DSP, also angled. I stamped the sentiment using Soft Suede ink and the Two-Tone Flora stamp set on a Basic White piece. This was die cut with the sentiment die from Ginkgo Branch Dies. I love the detail on this die! A length of Grosgrain Ribbon in Pool Party was folded and added with Stampin’ Seal+ then dimensionals were added to the back of the sentiment & attached to the card front. Three Glossy Dots Assortment in Pool Party were attached to the sentiment.

For the inside… the flowers were stamped in Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen using the Two-Tone Flora stamp set. I used a Soft Suede Marker to add some swirls. The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede using a saying from the Two-Tone Flora stamp set. The Basic White panel was added to the inside of the card and – done!

This is a very masculine kind of card, isn’t it? And you know what, this layout could be used for a lot of Designer Series Papers and be totally different each time. I like that about a layout. Before I get too philosophical – let’s get the details on this card. This front DSP panel from Day at the Farm DSP pack, is Sahara Sand and I’ve added it to a Cherry Cobbler layer, put that on dimensionals and adhered it to the Sahara Sand card base. The sentiment comes from the Adorable Owls stamp set – another FREE ITEM with a $50 order in the Sale-a-bration catalog. I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Basic White strip and simply trimmed it to the length I wanted. I adhered that to a slightly larger Cherry Cobbler strip. I took a length of one of the twines in the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack that looks similar to Sahara Sand in color and wrapped it around the strip and tied a knot in front. I added three Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots then added dimesnionals and attached it to the front of the card.

For the inside… there is something to say for retired sets – and well, some you just can’t get rid of. Pampered Pets and it’s coordinating dog punch is one of those sets. This little food bowl with a doggie footprint on it is just too perfect for this situation and I had to use it. The sentiment is stamped in Sahara Sand ink and the bowl in Memento Black ink on the Basic White panel. Yep, mounted on Cherry Cobbler and added to the inside of the card. Done!

For the envelope I used more of the Day at the Farm DSP for the flap. LOVE THIS PLAID! The dog is punched from a piece of the Fancy Flora DSP – the dog was a yellow lab and this just seemed to fit the situation. The heart is part of the punch and the reverse side of that same Fancy Flora DSP. How perfect could it be?! And the card is complete… my apologies for using something that cannot be ordered, but, well, I had to.

Stampin’ Up! Framed Florets, Silver Sympathy

Good Friday morning. It’s close to the weekend and in less than 10 days, it will be Christmas! Yikes… so much to do yet – well, wrapping mostly. I’ve a soft, sympathy card for you today, made with the Framed Florets and coordinating Framed Florets Dies.

My card base is Basic Gray, but I’ve covered the front with Gingham Cottage DSP. I then took a smaller panel of Basic White and die cut the frame and center oval. I stamped the oval in Memento ink with the Inspired Thoughts stamp set. All three panels were adhered to the card front. I then die cut from Silver Foil, the wonderful leaves using the Framed Florets Dies, and adhered them in place with liquid adhesive. The flower is also stamped in Memento ink, then colored with Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. This was adhered with dimensionals. For a final touch I added three Festive Pearls in Silver – and the card front was complete.

For the inside this sentiment was perfect – and it comes again from Inspired Thoughts stamp set. It was stamped on a Basic White panel in Memento ink. I then took a Blending Brush and added ever so slightly, some Basic Gray all around the edges. And finally, I added a strip of the Gingham Cottage DSP to the panel and adhered it in place.

For the envelope, more of the Gingham Cottage in Basic Gray for the flap, trimmed to fit – and the card is ready to send. It will go out in today’s mail, to a friend who recently lost her hubby.

Stampin’ Up! Something Fancy Sympathy Fun Fold

Good Monday to you. Sympathy cards are so very difficult and yet, necessary. Have I said that before? I tend to make sympathy cards for a specific person – and maybe that’s why it’s hard for me. I’m remembering the person who passed and get focused on the memories. So I struggle a bit. This card is in memory of a special woman, one who battled Lewey Body Dementia for six very long years. She and her husband have been so amazingly strong. And now her battle is over and she is at peace.

I’m using some new products from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog:the Something Fancy stamp set and coordinating Something Fancy Dies. Notice how Stampin’ Up! is now using same names for coordinating stamp sets & dies?! YAY, YAY! Thank you Stampin’ Up! Here is the stamp set & coordinating dies. I’m excited to have some wonderful banner/ sentiment dies.

The DSP is Fitting Florets 12×12 DSP – available right now. It coordinates with the Framed Florets bundle – the Fitting Florets Collection. Let me tell you how to make this beautiful card.

Begin with a standard 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 card base and score on the long side 1″ and 4 1/4″. Fold back the 1″ area on itself. Decorate panels… I used the Fitting Florets DSP and also used the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder in two areas. The front embossed piece is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. After embossing, it was adhered to a larger panel 2 3/4 x 3 3/4. I used one of the dies in the Framed Florets Dies to trim out a flower from the Fitting Florets 12×12 DSP. I stamped the sentiment from Something Fancy stamp set and die cut it with one of the dies in the Something Fancy Dies. I adhered the die cut floral bouquet to the front of this sentiment banner, put dimensionals on the back of both and attached it to the rectangle. The rectangle was adhered to the 1″ panel, centering in top to bottom. Really like this Quatrefoil EF as a backdrop for the sentiment & floral bouquet.

For the inside on the left, a panel of the Fitting Florets 12×12 DSP. On the right a 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strip embossed with the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder adhered to the far right edge. I then stamped the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stamp set in Night of Navy ink. I added Adhesive-Backed Swirls~ and the card was done. I really like how this card turned out: beautiful for a beautiful woman.

For the envelope – super easy – more of the Fitting Florets DSP adhered to the envelope flap & trimmed to fit.

Stampin’ Up! Masculine Sympathy

Good Saturday morning! A dear woman friend passed away this week and I needed a sympathy card for her husband. I pulled out the Sun Prints DSP and Natural Prints Dies to get a start. Gosh, Stampin’ Up has some gorgeous Designer Series Papers! I wanted something fairly plain for this card ~ and the husband may not appreciate the handmade card, but I’m hoping the rest of the family will. You see, I have this ‘thing’ about handmade cards/ gifts/ foods, I give from the heart and so these things are giving a part of me. This card is very simple, but it’s still a gift from the heart.

I began with a Starry Sky card base and this shadow-like piece of Sun Prints DSP. On my desk were these die cut in vellum sprays from the Organic Beauty Dies and I die cut one more in Basic White using the Natural Prints Dies. On another piece of the Sun Prints DSP, I stamped this sentiment ‘frame’ using the Lovely & Lasting stamp set and Gray Granite ink. I then stamped the sentiment in the center using the Inspired Thoughts stamp set and Gray Granite ink. I punched it out with the Lovely Labels Punch. I added the natural sprays to the back with Stampin’ Seal, then added dimensionals and attached it to the Sun Prints DSP. I felt it needed something else so made a double bow, kind of folded it in half, put a glue dot on it and slipped it under the banner. I added a piece of Basic White behind the DSP, put dimensionals on this and attached it to the card front.

I kept the inside very simple… just the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stamp set stamped in Gray Granite ink on the Basic White panel. I adhered this to the inside of the card and that was it.

For the envelope I used more of the Gray Granite piece of the Sun Prints DSP for the flap and called it enough. As I look at the finished card, it feels like it needs more layers of the natural ‘sprays’, but then I think of the individual to whom this is being sent and my gut says no. In other words, I’m not entirely happy with the card, but considering the recipient, it will be just right.

Stampin’ Up! Gatefold Sympathy Card with Happiness Abounds

It’s still the weekend… Sunday as a matter of fact. It’s H-O-T here at the Jersey Shore… 88 yesterday & 85 in the house, cuz guess whose AC was broken. Ugh! It’s repaired now, but oh boy. Ok – to the card. It’s a beauty, at least I think so. And when I began making it, it wasn’t for anyone special. By the end of the day – it certainly was! 😞

The background paper is Waves of the Ocean, a retiring end of June DSP. The flowers were die cut directly from Hues of Happiness DSP with the Blossoming Happiness Dies. I added a bit of Wink of Stella to each rose.

Hopefully you can see the sparkle in the above two photos. I added Wink of Stella to the shaded areas only. The sentiment in the center panel comes from Inspired Thoughts stamp set. It was stamped in memento ink. I die cut the flowers for this panel, then trimmed them to use as edging pieces. I really like that added touch.

The card base is Petal Pink with a Basic White layer for many of the panels, then the Waves of the Ocean DSP. I wanted to use this particular DSP for several reasons. First it’s beautiful paper, it coordinates beautifully with the roses and I wanted to use it :O) How’s that?

A Gatefold card is really easy to do, It’s a matter of scoring the card base, then adding the layers, then the ‘gate’ panels. It’s important the ‘gate’ panels are not so wide they make it difficult to close the card. I remember my first gatefold card from a few years back… hard to open ‘cuz the ‘gates’ were too wide they kept running into each other opening or closing the card. So, look at the first photo again and notice how there is spacing between the panels. Another tip is to add the top & bottom ‘gates’ first, then the center ‘gate’ last. And you will notice, the top & bottom ‘gates’ are attached on the left fold, the center ‘gate’ is attached to the right fold. Just wanted to point that out. Let’s take a peek at the inside.

The flower on the Basic White center panel is a die cut adhered with liquid glue – and yes, it has Wink of Stella on it too. The side panels only have the DSP, not the Basic White layer. I didn’t want the added bulk. And finally the envelope… more Waves of the Ocean DSP on the flap and a stamped in Memento ink rose from Happiness Abounds Stamp set. I chose to color it with the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and Granny Apple Green for the stem. No Wink of Stella on this rose, but you certainly could. I’ll list the card cuts at the end of this post.

And as long as you have at least $300 in sales per quarter, you’ll continue as an active Demonstrator and continue to get the discount. If you aren’t able to maintain the $300 per quarter minimums, you simply go back to being a customer, no commitment required and no penalty if decide that being a Demonstrator isn’t right for you.

Stampin’ Up! does have an extensive library of class and project ideas for those wishing to jump into hosting classes as well as training to help start your business, should you choose to do that.
