Stampin’ Up! Horse & Sleigh Bundle

Computers. Ugh. Mine was out of commission all day yesterday. Praying today will be a better day all around :O)

My card today is another scene using the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper. But it is super simple, no real embellishments.

This particular DSP is suited for either a Mossy Meadow background or Crumb Cake, or even Early Espresso. I wanted a light color and stuck with Crumb Cake for the card base and adhered the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP directly to it. It is such a serene scene. From Basic White and the Horse & Sleigh Dies, I cut two ‘mounds’ of snow and adhered those near the bottom. I stamped the horse & sleigh image in Memento ink and colored it with several Stampin’ Blends: Lost Lagoon, Light Cherry Cobbler, Light Smoky Slate and SU 100 for the skin tone. Then I die cut the piece with the Horse & Sleigh Dies and added it to the card front with dimensionals. I die cut the sleigh rungs from Silver Foil Specialty Paper and adhered those with dots of liquid glue.

For the inside, I took a panel of Fresh As A Daisy DSP, stamped Boho Blue snowflakes with the appropriate stamp from Horse & Sleigh stamp set and adhered this to the inside of the card. I took a piece of Basic White and die cut it with the Deckled Rectangle Dies, stamped the sentiment from Brightest Glow stamp set and added that to the inside of the card.

For the envelope: another piece of Fresh As A Daisy DSP and the fun snowflake stamp from Horse & Sleigh stamp set + Boho ink, then adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit.

Stampin’ Up! And Paper Pumpkin

WooHoo – this is a favorite of the more recent monthly Paper Pumpkin kits :O) It’s called Fun In the Sun for the July kit. It’s a side step card and very summery and fun. The three versions look like this:

Aren’t these fun? Notice thew left portion is taller than the rest and there is a slit, cut, division for the folds on the right. Let me show you side views so you get the idea of a side step card.

By looking at the side view, it is clear of the various ‘steps’ or folds that can be decorated. Here, on each ‘step’, the images are adhered. The very back ‘step’ could have been kept loose and used as am bookmark or tag. I decided not to do that and prepared no alternatives. I thought these really cute. And the envelopes were colorful as well…

Stampin’ Up! Z Fold with One Horse Open Sleigh DSP

Good Friday morning! Is it TGIF for you? Do you have BIG plans or a relaxing time in store for you? Whatever you do, may you be energized. I have an easy Z-Fold card for you today. And yep, using the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP with the Horse & Sleigh bundle.

Stampin' Up! Z fold Horse & Sleigh Bundle

Cut & score the Basic White card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4. Burnish in an accordian fold (mountain, valley) as shown. The mat panels are Early Espresso: 2 x 5 3/8 (cut 2) and 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and adhered with liquid glue. The Designer Series Paper is One Horse Open Sleigh 6×6 size and uses two sheets to create a flowing scene. They are cut 1 7/8 x 5 1/4 (cut 2) and from the second sheet cut 4 x 5 1/4. Adhere these to the Early espresso panels creating the flowing scene. Using the Horse & Sleigh Dies, I die cut three trees from Shimmer paper and adhered them with dots of glue. I could have stopped there, but… cut a Basic white strip 1 x 6 and score at 3″ & 5″. Cut another strip of DSP 3/4 x 6 and score it at 3″ & 5″. Adhere these two together matching the scoring places. On a 5/8 x 3 Shimmer paper strip stamp the sentiment from the Horse & Sleigh stamp set in Misty Moonlight. Add it to the existing 1 x 6 piece. Add this strip to the left card front (HINT: 3″ mountain fold should be at right edge of DSP panel on the largest panel). Once this glue has dried, close card and with the 1″ end folded in a valley fold, adhere to the right side of the card.. Add embellishments: Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes and a Metallic Pearls in silver.

On the back of the card, I took another of the One Horse Open Sleigh 6×6 sheets and cut it to 4 x 5 1/4. I stamped this sentiment using the Brightest Glow stamp set – and in Misty Moonlight ink.

For the envelope… yet another of the One Horse Open Sleigh 6×6 pieces of DSP cut to 2 1/4 x 6 and adhered to the flap, trimmed to fit. Done.

Stampin’ Up! Center Step Fold Card with One Horse Open Sleigh DSP

Good Monday morning. I’ve been playing with an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE product, part of the One Horse Open Sleigh suite. I wanted to create another ‘scene’ kind of card and had not done this Center Step fun fold in a while – and thought, why not?

Stampin' Up! One Horse Open Sleigh DSP, Center Step fold

The card base is Boho Blue, mats are Misty Moonlight. The DSP layers are from the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP pack, and I used a couple of different ones which you’ll see as you look at photos. The very fun snowflakes are from this suite of products and they are Adhesive-Backed Snowflake Assortment in copper, gold and white. I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the center of each snowflake. The ribbon is Night of Navy 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon. It’s best to add the layers to the card base prior to adding the center step fold.

I began by cutting my DSP center step panel as the focus of the card, adhered it to the mat for that panel and the mat to the center step. (HINT: I cut my DSP piece at 4″ , cut the focus panel out and used each remaining side piece for the side panels, trimmed to proper size.)

Center step base:
- Boho Blue, 3 x 6 and scored at 4 1/4 on the long side
Center step mat:
- Misty Moonlight 2 7/8 x 4 1/8
Center step DSP:
- 2 3/4 x 4

Create the card base: Boho Blue 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, score @ 3, 6, and 7. Burnish with 3″ score line as a mountain fold, the 6″ score as a valley fold and the 7″ score another mountain.

Attach side panels on middle section allowing for narrow edge (1/16″):

Misty Moonlight mat 2 7/8 x 1 1/8 (Cut 2)
DSP 2 3/4 x 1 (Cut 2, using the remaining pieces from the initial removal of the focal panel; one from each side piece so the flow of the design carries to both sides. :O)

Add inside pieces. This is where you write your message :O)

Misty Moonlight mat 2 7/8 x 5 3/8
Basic White 2 3/4 x 5 1/4 (I added a strip of the DSP 5/8 x 2 7/8 and a copper Adhesive-Backed Snowflake & Rhinestone Basic Jewel)

Add center step fold (the 6 x 3 scored piece) to the very bottom of the card front, but do not attach the back of this panel just yet. Add bottom side panels to either side.

Misty Moonlight mat 1 1/8 x 1 3/8 (cut 2)
DSP 1 x 1 1/4
Wrap with ribbon (Night of navy 3/8 Border Ribbon) and adhere in back with glue dot.
Slip another length under the front piece and tie a knot; adhere at knot with glue dot; trim ends

Close card with center step fold folded over and laying on back of card. Add glue to adhere to card back. (I added liquid glue at the edge of the fold of the card back and at the end of the center step fold back.)

Add Misty Moonlight mat 2 7/8 x 5 3/8
Add DSP 2 3/4 x 5 1/4

For the envelope, I added more of the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP to the flap, trimmed to fit and that was it, no extra pattern or stamp on the envelope front.

Stampin’ Up! Circle Sayings on a Notecard

The size of a notecard is 3 1/2 x 5 and is simply a sweet size. And, it is not too small to be mailed. My card today is made with one of the Basic White Notecards and Envelopes.

I began by stamping this cute cupcake from Circle Sayings stamp set in Crumb Cake ink and coloring it with Stampin’ Blends Bubble Bath for the icing and Light Smoky Slate for the wrap, I wanted it to look like a foil so added Wink of Stella for the shine. It doesn’t show in the photo but it does in person :O) I stamped the ‘circle saying’ in Crumb Cake as well and die cut with a circle from Sylish Shapes Dies. For more sparkle (cuz birthdays are special occasions) I die cut a larger circle from Soft Shimmer paper in Bubble Bath – yep, Stylish Shapes Dies. I added a bow made from the Simply Elegant Trim in silver and attached it with a glue dot. This item I set aside.

On a piece of Crumb Cake I stamped repeatedly the words Happy Birthday using a stamp from Go To Greetings – in Crumb Cake ink. I attached the stamped and decorated circle with dimensionals. I cut small strips of the same Soft Glimmer paper in Bubble Bath and attached them to the Notecard front, then added the Crumb Cake panel. The Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Petal Pink seemed to match pretty well, so I added those as well.

For the inside… I used Bubble Bath ink and Crumb Cake ink to stamp sentiments from Circle Sayings stamp set on a Basic White piece. This was added to a very slightly larger panel of Crumb Cake and added to the inside of the card.

For the envelope I used another sentiment from Go To Greetings stamp set to stamp in Crumb Cake ink – and that was it. I kept it very simple.

Stampin’ Up! Paper Florist Dies

Good morning, or afternoon as the case may be. I hope you are taking advantage of some of the super duper happenings at Stampin’ Up! See below for more information about that.

In my class yesterday we worked on a 3D project with the Paper Florist Dies. I found these shadow boxes, painted them and let the ladies be as creative as they wanted with these Paper Florist Dies. Here’s my sample.

The colors in here are Petal Pink, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Basic White and Pretty Peacock, Flirty Flamingo. Greens used were Granny Apple Green and Lemon Line Twist. I used a glue gun to add these to the box, but the students didn’t want to use that. They used dimensionals, sometimes stacking them. Here are their creations.

Additional colors used on these beautiful shadow boxes were: Poppy Parade, Berry Burst, Lemon Lolly, Fresh Freesia and Misty Moonlight. The greens were the same – Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist. Didn’t they do a great job?! I really like how each person is reflective of their own selves.

Stampin’ Up! Little Dreamers Happy 4th

Happy 4th of July! Today’s card is a ‘take’ on the 4th of July using the LIttle Dreamers bundle AND the Stargazing DSP.

Isn’t this lion CUTE!? This card could so easily be given for a 4th birthday, but it is intended for the 4th of July post :O) This DSP, Stargazing is stunning, AND it has a hint of reddish color in the upper right corner. What it says on the package is Berry Burst is a coordinating color, so I did use that for accent – but pretend it’s red, ok? You know, red, white and blue… The Basic White cloud at the bottom of the card is die cut with the Basic Border Dies and 1 1`/4″ of card stock. The stamped sentiment is done with Starry Sky ink, covering a portion of the stamp in the Little Dreamers stamp set, stamping then cleaning the stamp and re-inking just the last word, also in Starry Sky ink. In between, I die cut stars using one of the dies in the Little Dreamers Dies and Berry Burst card stock. Just the top star was adhered with a mini dimensional, the other two and the cloud were added with liquid glue onto the Stargazing DSP. The lion is of course, from Little Dreamers stamp set and stamped in Memento ink on the Basic White panel. I colored it with Stampin’ Blends: Daffodil Delight for the star, Wild Wheat for the larger portion of the lion, Crumb Cake & SU300 for the mane and Lemon Lolly for the lions belly. He was die cut with the Little Dreamers lion die and attached to the card with dimensionals. This whole Stargazing panel was added to a Berry Burst piece, then to the Starry Sky card base.

For the inside, Starry Sky ink on the Biggest Wish stamp set ‘happy’, stamped on the Basic White panel. Then the 4th was stamped in Berry Burst ink using the Alphabest stamp set. A 1/2″ strip of the Stargazing DSp was added to the bottom to continue the theme from the front. In hindsight, it should have been adhered to the top of the Basic White panel – but you know, hindsight. This piece was added to Berry Burst and adhered to the inside of the card.

For the envelope – real simple… a bit of the Stargazing DSP on the flap + a small strip of Berry Burst to continue the theme of red, white & blue – HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Be careful out there on this fourth of July. Fireworks are fun & beautiful to watch, just be careful if you light them yourself.

I’m telling you, this is not going to be easy. He’s a gem of a family pet and we’re struggling – not going to lie about it. He’s gentle and loving and made me his ALPHA. He’s been beside me no less than two feet away for a very long time, often lying on my feet or touching me if he could. Today is not a happy day… so bear with me.

Stampin’ Up! Irresistible Blooms

Good Saturday! I have a beautiful new bundle I worked with – an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE that I tried resisting, and couldn’t. 😀 It is stunning! It is called – of all things – Irresistible Blooms Suite and what comes in the suite is: stamp set, coordinating dies, gorgeous 6×6 DSP and Loose Frosted Dots in three colors. An older color is coming back – Lost Lagoon – and that shows in these papers. Another cool thing is the dies die cut the two sizes of flowers in the DSP as well as three leaf shapes. I’ve created a very feminine card with this suite. Let’s take a peek.

See that stunning flower? It’s die cut from one of the papers! And see the leaves under the flower and under the sentiment? Those are also die cut from the DSP. And isn’t that wreath fun? It’s one of the dies as well. The DSP under it all is one of the papers in the pack. It has these cute little bubbles same as the wreath. And see the Loose Frosted Dots? The Petal Pink ones are on the banner while the Soft Seafoam are in the wreath – and notice, three sizes too. They adhere with a tiny dot of adhesive. The sentiment is from the stamp set, stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink , a coordinating color of the DSP, and die cut with the smallest of the Deckled Rectangle Dies. The bow is Sating Edge Ribbon with Gold and added with a glue dot. I don’t know if you can see it in the photo, but I added Shimmery Crystal Effects to the flower on several of the white sections.

The inside of the card is every bit as feminine: more of the DSP on the bottom of the white panel, a smaller die cut flower from the paper, three small leaves die cut as well. The Basic White panel overlays a Flirty Flamingo panel, same as the front, and adhered to the Thick Basic White card base.

The DSP on the envelope flap is the back side of the DSP on the card front. I used the entire 6×6 sheet on this card! I was hoping you could see the Crystal Effects, but it doesn’t really show. Oh well… This suite of products will be available on March 1 and I encourage you get it! You will not regret the purchase. Stampin’ Up! is promoting an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE line of products that will not be included in any catalog, that will only be available as an ONLINE product. This is their premier showing of the first suite. March 1st I’ll be able to share more products that you will be able to order right then. It’s kind of exciting, this new idea.
