Stampin’ Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to another fun BLOG HOP by our creative group. I can’t wait to see what others have made for the hop today. We have a color challenge.

Stampin' Up! Color Challenge for Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop
Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop
Stampin' Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold w/ Bright & Beautiful 6x6

Can you see all those colors in the color challenge in this DSP? Blueberry Bushel is the card base; Lost Lagoon is the ink on the sentiment, and Pretty Peacock is in the DSP, Moody Mauve is in the DSP too. So, I’m covered – whew! Isn’t this a fun card? I had such fun creating it!

  • Card base is 8 x 5 1/2, score at 2, 6 on long side
  • On the short side, cut @ 1 1/4″ on both short sides between score lines
  • On the long side, score @ 3″ & 5″ between cut lines
  • On the long side, score @ 4″ from top & bottom to cut line
Stasmpin' Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold basic form
Stampin' Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold from the top

In far left photo is how your card base should look after all cutting and score lines have been made. The photo next to it shows the image from the top.

Now it’s time to decorate with DSP & die cuts and all that good stuff.

DSP & center layers:

  • DSP for side front panels: 1 7/8 x 5 3/8, cut 2
  • DSP for small sections: 1 7/8 x 1 1/8, cut 4
  • Center card stock: 2 3/8 x 3
  • Center DSP: 2 1/4 x 2 7/8

Adhere center layers together & add to small center section of card.

Stampin' Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold side DSP panels
Stampin' Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold DSP panels & center panel

In photos at left, it is clear where the various panels should be added, whether by liquid glue or Stampin’ Seal. I prefer the liquid glue as it allows for flexibility. It is up to you, however.

Now it’s time to decorate! I used Bright & Beautiful 6×6 DSP for the balloons and the added panels of DSP adhered to the card base & center section. I used Beautiful Balloons stamp set and Beautiful Balloons Dies for all the die cuts – including the center sentiment banner, stars and tassel. The stars & tassel were die cut from the ONLINE EXCLUSIVE Silver & Gold Adhesive-Backed Glitter Paper (LOVE THIS!) Because the glitter paper is adhesive backed, I die cut another tassel in white to adhere to it. On the smaller balloon, I added Gold Celebrations SDSP to the Bright & Beautiful DSP prior to die cutting. I colored a couple of strings of White Baker’s Twine with Light Blueberry Bushel Stampin Blends & tied them around the balloon bottoms and attached the ends with a rolled glue dot. I also added Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Gold to further the gold effect. On the back, I added a 1 1/2 x 4 Basic White strip to a side panel to write my message. And the card was done!

Stampin' Up! Pop-Out Fun Fold card & envelope

On the envelope I added a 2 1/4 x 6 piece of Bright & Beautiful 6×6 DSP and trimmed it to fit. I stamped the front of the envelope with Lost Lagoon ink and a sentiment from Beautiful Balloons stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today. Now it’s time to hop along to see what others have created. Click on the next button or name to get you where you want to go. ENJOY!

Stampin’ Up! Stars At Night Dies Ornaments

Good Sunday morning! My 4″ metal rings arrived yesterday afternoon and I couldn’t wait to play. Remember I posted the ornaments on 3″ rings the other day – that link is here.

Stampin' Up! Stars At night Dies Ornaments

I used the O Holy Night 12 x 12 DSP to cut a circle with the Deckled Circles Dies. Which one? Beginning with the smallest, count six circles – that’s the one :O) I cut a backing as well, but from Night of Navy card stock. I cut various star shapes using many of the dies in Stars of Night Dies from various papers: Distressed Gold, Shimmer Paper, Gold Foil, and Adhesive-Backed Gold Glimmer Paper. These are wonderful dies!!!

Instructions:

  • Cut a length of ribbon about 20″ in length – possibly Linen Thread. Fold in half and slip the ring into the fold.
  • Secure the Linen Thread at the bottom and top with a glue dot. (I used my grid paper to make certain it was centered.) Tie a double knot at top: left over right, then right over left.
  • Slip the backing circle under both threads, centering the circle. Put a dimensional over the linen thread near the top of the circle.
  • TWIST THE THREAD and secure in place with a dimensional near the bottom of the circle. Add more dimensionals as needed.
  • Add top Designer Series Paper, matching notches in the deckles. I used O Holy Night 12 x 12 DSP.
  • Add layers of die cut stars as desired. On the above ornament, the largest star is on dimensionals as is the smaller Shimmer Paper die cut and the very top star as well. I decorated the center of the star with an Iridescent Pearl.
  • As a finishing touch, I tied a length of the Night of Navy & Gold Glitter Ribbon in a knot at the top of the metal ring.
Stampin' Up! Satrs At Night Dies Ornament.2

In the Stars At Night stamp set is a stamp for the largest star and I stamped it on Basic White card stock in Night of Navy ink, three times, re-inking between each stamp. The key here is to have each paper cut 3 x 4 as the die for this star is attached on either side by another die. You can see in this photo I couldn’t wait for the 4″ metal ring and made this ornament on the 3″ ring. I like it so much better framed on the 4″ ring! True, the ornament is different, but… this larger star needs the larger ring, in my opinion. Here is a side view to better show the three stars adhered together.

Stampin' Up! Stars At Night ornament

And in the case of this ornament, I adhered the deckled circles to the ring, both back and front. This can fold flat for storage if needed.

Stampin’ Up! Craft Project with Night Divine Dies

Good morning Friday! I have a fun project for you today, ornaments! They are made with the Night Divine Dies, Deckled Circle Dies and Holy Night Designer Series Paper. We made these in my class yesterday :O)

Stampin' Up! Night Divine Dies Ornament 1
Stampin' Up! Night Divine Dies Ornament 2
Stampin' Up! Night Divine Dies Ornament 3
Stampin' Up! Night Divine Dies Ornament 4

Aren’t these beautiful? There was a video of how to make these on the Facebook Stampin’ Up! page and I loved the idea. The trickiest part is lining up the front & back of the papers – because of the edges of the Deckled Circles Dies. The first step is to either order the gold hoop online or look for them in a local craft store. These are 3″ hoops, and I used Simply Elegant Trim in Gold to attach to the DSP. You could also use Linen Thread.

  • Die cut the images from Basic Black card stock using the Night Divine Dies. besides the main image, I die cut an extra camel, and two sheep
  • Cut apart the shepherd and the wise man from the main image, leaving only Mary, Joseph and creche. See photo 1.
  • Using Deckled Circles Dies, die cut several circles from the Holy Night Designer Series Paper – or DSP of choice.
  • Using the same size die, die cut an equal amount of circles from Very Vanilla card stock, or coordinating card stock of your choice.
  • Align the DSP circle and the Very Vanilla circle so the deckled edges line up just right. Mark with pencil on the Very Vanilla piece. This will help align the two pieces later.
  • Add the die cut images as desired to the various DSP circles either with liquid glue or dimensionals. On these ornaments, Mary & Joseph are on dimensionals as are the Shepherd and the Wise Man.
  • Fold the Linen Thread in half and lay on surface. Hold thread in place with a glue dot at bottom and a glue dot at top of 3″ ring. Tie a double knot.
  • Slip the Very Vanilla panel under the thread making certain it is centered in the 3″ hoop. My pencil mark is under the thread, unseen.
  • Attach dimensional near top of circle over the Linen Thread. Twist thread, separating a bit and add dimensional near bottom of circle. This ‘twist of the thread” will keep the ornament straight in the hoop! Add additional dimensionals as necessary. See photo.
Stampin' Up! Night Divine Dies Ornament 5

Notice the twist of the thread? Did I mention how important that is? Good.

  • Remove backing on dimensionals and add the DSP layer.
  • Add Adhesive-Backed Star Trinkets. I used the larger star for Mary & Joseph and the smaller star for the other ornaments.
  • Cut a length of the the Very Vanilla Edge Ribbon and tie around Linen Thread at top of hoop in a double knot. This adds a finishing touch. You will notice that I chose to color some of the ribbon on the various ornaments using my Basic Black Stampin’ Blends. The coloring was done only on the very vanilla edges of the ribbon. I chose not to color every one though.

Very fun project! These Dies and Designer Series Papers may be found in the Sep-Dec 2023 Mini catalog. You can see other ornaments on page 17 of this catalog – and I will be posting similar ones later.

When ordering from me please use my HOST CODE 2J2X3YRM so that I receive proper notification and YOU GET THE Benefits of a FREE SU! item valued up to $10 :O) AND the Monthly Card Tutorial. Stampin’ Up! Beary Christmas Memories and More Card Pack

Good morning! Sometime ago I received a gift from my upline of this very fun Beary Christmas Memories & More Card Pack. It has been sitting on my desk just waiting for me to play. I have three to share today. Before I share, look at pages 22 & 23 in the Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalog and see all the items that come in the pack. These are larger in size: 4 1/4 x 6 1/2, so just be aware of that.

Stampin' Up! Beary C'mas Mem'ries & More cards.1
Stampin' Up! Beary C'mas Mem'ries & More Card Pack.3
Stampin' Up! Beary C'mas Mem'ries & More Card Pack.2

Card 1, far left, uses the card base from the card pack, a layer of Beary Christmas 12×12 DSP, a window sheet (to make the shaker card) and these tiny trees die cut using the Tiny Trees Die found on page 13 in the Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalog, a sticker from the card pack (Merry Christmas) and a twine (2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine Pack found in the 2023 Annual Catalog.) I also used Pearlized Enamel Effects in White and gave a dot on each of the green trees. It really does make the card sparkle! These little tiny trees are left over from another project some time ago :O)

Stampin'n Up! Beary C'mas mem'ries & More card pack.4

Card 2, middle, uses the Card base from the card pack, another panel of the Beary C’mas 12×12 DSP and two ‘cards’ layered together and on dimensionals. I also used Pearlized Enamel Effects in white on the trees.

Stampin' Up! Pearlized Enamel Effects in white
Stampin' Up! Pearlized Enamel Effects.6

It is important when using the Pearlized Enamel Effects to LET IT DRY completely. I usually add it at the end of creating a card and set it aside while I work on another project.

Card 3, far right, is another shaker card but without the shakers :O) That’s another story!!! Here I wrapped the gorgeous Silver & White 1/2″ Ribbon (from the Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalog) around the ‘shaker’ and tied it with Woven Metallic Ribbon in Parakeet Party from the 2023 Annual Catalog. I adhered the ‘shaker’ portion directly to the decorated card base – decorated with Beary C’mas 12×12 DSP.

This is such a cute card pack and I’ve had such fun putting it together. More cards will be shared another time.

Starting tomorrow Oct 3 and going through to Oct 31 is a Starter Kit Special you will not want to miss. Celebrating 35 years of Stampin’ Up!, new demonstrators will be able to choose 35% OFF the cost of their Starter Kit or get 35% MORE product with their Starter Kit. Having said all that – would love to have you JOIN MY TEAM HERE.

Stampin’ Up! Double Box Fun Fold for Class

Good morning! Sunshine today – and I mean FULL sunshine. After 5 full days of rain and haze and cloud cover, the shining sun is very welcome… Today’s card was inspired by one of my teammates, Carol Buckelew. I love this fun fold – so very easy and creates a stand up card that’s fun to show off. After I made a couple of them, we made this in my card class Thursday.

Stampin' Up! Double Box Fun Fold w/ One Horse Open Sleigh DSP

I used the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP both for this card and another and in the card class as well. I love how each has a different scene. (You’ll see each of the others in the photos below) I also incorporated the Forever Forest stamp set (used on the card back) and coordinating Forever Forest Dies (for the die cut trees on the front). The circle was made using the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Dimensions / Card Cuts

  • Card Base 1: 4 1/4 x 9 3/8 scored on the long side @ 3/8, 1 3/8, 2 7/8, 3 7/8
    • DSP for this base 1: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8; 4 1/8 x 1 3/8
  • Card Base 2: 3 1/2 x 5 1/8 scored on the long side @ 3/8 & 1 3/8
    • DSP for base 2: 3 3/8 x 3 58; 3 3/8 x 7/8
  • DSP for envelope flap: 2 1/4 x 6

Burnish score lines for Base 1; add DSP to long unscored end of base 1. Add Tear ‘n Tape to 3/8″ end fold under, then lay flat at 2 7/8 score line and adhere to make ‘box’. Adhere 1 3/8 DSP to appropriate panel – refer to photos. Add Tear ‘n Tape to 3/8″ section of base 2.

Turn Base 2 to wrong side and center on Base 1, top, bottom, left & right. Add Stampin’ Seal as shown; turn over to right side and adhere to Base 1.

Remove Tear ‘n Tape & adhere to create box 2

Stampin' Up! Double Box fun fold.6

Wow – almost there! Add 3 3/8 x 3 5/8 DSP to Base 2 front, then adhere 7/8 x 3 3/8 panel to panel to right of that.

Stampin' Up! Double Box fun fold.7

Decorate front as desired. On this card I used the Forever Forest Dies to die cut two trees: one in Crumb Cake (smaller) and one in Pebbled Path. I layered them on a circle – die cut using Basic White and the Stylish Shapes Dies. I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a bit of glam. See photo.

Stampin' Up! Double Box fun fold.8, back of card

For the back of the card I stamped a Basic White panel (4 1/8 x 5 3/8) using the trees from the Forever Forest stamp set and Mossy Meadow ink. The sentiment is from the Night Divine stamp set and stamped in Pebbled Path ink. The envelope was simple: more of the same One Horse Open Sleigh DSP for the flap & trimmed to fit. :O) :O) :O) Such a FUN CARD….

Here’s another and those made in the card class. All use the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP from the NLINE EXCLUSIVES store.

The students really enjoyed this class – had so much fun and were creative in decorating the card front and the back as well. Unfortunately I didn’t take photos of the back of the card :O( ugh. I look forward to see what YOU do with this fun fold. Please share photos with me of your creations!

Stampin’ Up! Simple Fun Fold Note Card

It isn’t raining this morning! Wheee – maybe a bit of sunshine once we have daylight. It’s still dark here in NJ at 6 AM. This card is elegant due to the Shining Brightly DSP: deep Night of Navy & Gold are just stunning on Very Vanilla. And I’ve chosen to do this on a note card size, which when folded is 3 1/2 x 5. But it could easily be done on a standard A2 size card: just adjust the front score to maybe 1 3/4″ and change up the DSP measurements. I see another post opportunity! :O)

Stampin' Up! Simple Fun Fold Note Card

Isn’t this Shining Brightly DSP just stunning?! I’ve paired it with Something Fancy stamp set and Something Fancy Dies for the sentiment banner. And these Gold Holly Leaves and Loose Holly Gems and Sequins add a delicate and wonderful touch. I began by scoring the notecard front at 1 1/2 then folded that back on itself. I added the Sining Brightly 1 34 x 4 34 to the front left panel and another strip cut 1 14 x 4 34 to the folded back front section. Next I added another piece 1 34 x 4 34 to the inside right so that when it closes it really is noticeable.

The Very Vanilla sentiment banner was first wiped with an Embossing Buddy to remove any static, then I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink and sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder then heat set. After die cutting I added the Gold Holly Leaves and the cute red gems from Loose Holly Gems & Sequins. I added dimensionals only on the left side of banner and secured the banner in place. Nearly done!

Stampin' Up! Simple Fun Fold Note Card inside

For the inside I used the Leaf Punch and Distressed Gold SDSP to punch a leaf. I trimmed it into sections and adhered the multi-leaf section in the top left and the single leaf in the lower right. I added more red gems from the Loose Holly Gems and Sequins to pull it all together. This allows plenty of room for my message :O)

Stampin' Up! Simple Fun Fold Note Card & envelope

For the envelope – very simple… I used another panel of the Shining Brightly DSP to adhere to the flap & trimmed it to fit.

Note Cards are available in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog as are the Gold Holly Leaves; the Shining Brightly DSP and the Loose Holly Gems & Sequins are shown in the Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalog.

Stampin’ Up! Earthen Textures for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning! We have a sketch challenge for today’s hop and it was extra fun.

Stampin' Up! Earthen Textures for the Hop 9/28

You can see I did not deviate from the sketch at all… and that’s unusual for me. I usually do something different. This is a great masculine card – and I have trouble making those. But this DSP: Earthen Elegance DSP is perfect for a ‘man card.’ I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to die cut the various patterns from the Earthen Elegance DSP. The card base is Copper Clay card stock (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2) which coordinates with this designer series paper. I cut another piece of the Copper Clay just slightly smaller than the card front and ran it through a Basic 3D Embossing Folder (flower) from the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES. There are three embossing folders in this set. I wrapped a Copper Ribbon around it after embossing and secured it in back with Stampin’ Seal. The ribbon comes from the Copper & Natural Ribbon Combo Pack found in the September-December 2023 Mini Catalog. (You will find links both to the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES and to the mini catalog below.) I then attached the die cut circles: the largest with liquid glue, the next size with dimensionals and the smallest with dimensionals and liquid glue where it overlaps. I added three Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots in Copper for a bit of glam. I also tied a knot with more of the Copper Ribbon and secured it in place with a glue dot. And the front was complete!

Stampin' Up! Earthen Elegance card inside

I stamped the sentiment using Early Espresso ink with the Earthen Textures stamp set on a Basic White panel. I appreciate how clean the words are! I then ran a die through on this same panel from Earthen Textures Dies that does not cut, but leaves an impression instead. The second photo above shows that better.

Stampin' Up! Earthen Elegance card & envelope

For the envelope I used more of the Earthen Elegance DSP for the flap and trimmed it to fit. For the front, I stamped another sentiment from the Earthen Textures stamp set in Early Espresso ink – and one & done! I really like how this card turned out and alrecy know to whom it will be given :O)

Now… time to move on with the hop. Click on the ‘next’ button or click on a name to take you to each of those participating today. Have fun on the hop!

Stampin’ Up! Gift Bags #2 and 3

Good morning! We have returned from convention in Pittsburgh and today I am d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g. Yep – ever return and feel rung out or run over by a mack truck? It’s not quite that bad, but … I made a gift bag last night and took pictures then realized I did it sorta wrong. This morning I made another for this post :O) and I’m hoping instructions will be more clear.

Stampin' Up! Traditions of St Nick gift bag.1

Gift bag made last night after many hours of travel – not decorated yet, but at least has a ribbon! The Designer Series Paper is called Traditions of St. Nick DSP and is found as part of the Special Release on the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Here’s the how to put this together with photos to help you create it.

  • DSP is cut 6 x 12 (please make note… better if DSP is non directional) This is Traditions of St Nick 12 x 12 DSP
    • score on the long side at 1 1/2, 5 3/4, is 7 1/4 and 11 1/2
    • score on the short side at 1 1/2 and 5 1/2. (the 5 1/2 end is the top of the gift bag)
  • Trim along score lines of the long side to the 1 1/2 score line on the short side
  • Remove excess ‘end’ as shown in photo
Stampin' Up! Traditions of St Nick gift bag.2
Stampin' Up! St Nick Gift bag.3

Please look at photos to the left for proper cutting lines, Then add Tear n’ Tape at spots indicated in the near photo – there are four places. The area at the bottom of the photo becomes the side of the gift bag while the cut flaps become the bottom of the gift bag. The next photos will show how to fold the gift bag.

  • Fold gift bag as shown in photo below
  • Remove right length of Tear n’ Tape and close
Stampin' Up! St. Nick gift bag.4
Stampin' Up! Traditions of St Nick gift bag.5
  • Remove Tear ‘n Tape from short flaps and fold in; remove Tear ‘n Tape from long flap and fold in; then fold in the remaining long flap.
  • Secure by using a bone folder and rub against all flaps from the inside of the gift bag.
  • Pinch in at top and punch holes – see photos
Stampin' Up! Traditions of St Nick Gift bag.6
Stampin' Up! Traditions of St Nick Gift Bag.7
  • Run Ribbon through holes and tie bow. On the red gift bag I used Burlap Ribbon from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack.
  • Heres’ a photo of the bag again completed as a side view and one of the front view.

The first gift bag I made with this design was made with foil paper and turned out really cute, but I had to be so careful when scoring not to tear through the DSP. This is much stronger and I did not have to be so careful. These bags are not decorated yet. I will share a photo later in the week fully decorated :O) But now – you can make your own gift bag with ease :O) HERE is a link to the foiled bag.

Stampin’ Up! Joy of Noel and Layers

Good morning! I’m away right now, attending a convention that has nothing to do with Stampin’ Up!. Can you imagine? :O) The convention is in Pittsburgh, a city of bridges. I learned yesterday Pittsburgh has more bridges than Venice, France, numbering 463 (I think that’s the right number). And they are all so different. But this post isn’t about Pittsburgh, this is a post about today’s creation.

Stampin' Up! Joy of Noel

This card has lots of layers using the Joy of Christmas 12×12 DSP. It is beautiful. You can see I used three different designer series papers, with the very top one as kind of a background piece for the sentiment banner. I used the Banners Pick a Punch to make the pointy ends. It’s hard to pick a favorite of these papers. Prior to adhering this strip to the card front, I wrapped it in Metallic Woven Ribbon in Parakeet Party. There are so many shades of green in this paper, this ribbon just adds a sparkle of fun.

The sentiment is stamped using Joy of Noel stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Basic White panel that was then die cut with Something Fancy Dies. I used Gold Holly Leaves and Loose Holly Gems to decorate the banner. Attached with Stampin’ Seal to the basck of the banner is a Pine bough die cut from Shaded Spruce card stock using a die from Joy of Noel dies. I’m thinking a gold foil pine bough might have been nice as well.

The layers of the card are…

  • Shaded Spruce card base 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2
  • Cherry Cobbler 4 x 5 1/4 adhered directly to the card base.
  • Basic White 3 3/4 x 5 adhered to Joy of Christmas DSP 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, dimensionals on the Basic White and centered onto the card front
  • Basic White 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 and Joy of Christmas DSP 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 adhered together, dimensionals on the Basic White and again centered onto the card front.
  • The bannered piece is 3/4 x 4 1/4, trimmed with the Banners Pick A Punch, wrapped in the Metallic Woven Ribbon and adhered with adhesive.
  • The sentiment banner is attached with dimensionals.
Stampin' Up! Joy of Noel, inside

For the inside… Cherry Cobbler layer (4 x 5 1/4) adhered to the card base; the Basic White panel (3 3/4 x 5) is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and Shaded Spruce ink using stamps from the Joy of Noel stamp set then added to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Joy of Noel card & envelope

The envelope got more of this gorgeous Joy of Christmas DSP adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit. On the envelope front, I stamped two holly sprigs in Shaded Spruce ink then added tiny dots of Pearlized Enamel Effects. This needed to be set aside to dry so the Enamel Effects doesn’t smear. Love this card and envelope and hope you do as well.
