It isn’t raining this morning! Wheee – maybe a bit of sunshine once we have daylight. It’s still dark here in NJ at 6 AM. This card is elegant due to the Shining Brightly DSP: deep Night of Navy & Gold are just stunning on Very Vanilla. And I’ve chosen to do this on a note card size, which when folded is 3 1/2 x 5. But it could easily be done on a standard A2 size card: just adjust the front score to maybe 1 3/4″ and change up the DSP measurements. I see another post opportunity! :O)
Isn’t this Shining Brightly DSP just stunning?! I’ve paired it with Something Fancy stamp set and Something Fancy Dies for the sentiment banner. And these Gold Holly Leaves and Loose Holly Gems and Sequins add a delicate and wonderful touch. I began by scoring the notecard front at 1 1/2 then folded that back on itself. I added the Sining Brightly 1 34 x 4 34 to the front left panel and another strip cut 1 14 x 4 34 to the folded back front section. Next I added another piece 1 34 x 4 34 to the inside right so that when it closes it really is noticeable.
The Very Vanilla sentiment banner was first wiped with an Embossing Buddy to remove any static, then I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink and sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder then heat set. After die cutting I added the Gold Holly Leaves and the cute red gems from Loose Holly Gems & Sequins. I added dimensionals only on the left side of banner and secured the banner in place. Nearly done!
For the inside I used the Leaf Punch and Distressed Gold SDSP to punch a leaf. I trimmed it into sections and adhered the multi-leaf section in the top left and the single leaf in the lower right. I added more red gems from the Loose Holly Gems and Sequins to pull it all together. This allows plenty of room for my message :O)
For the envelope – very simple… I used another panel of the Shining Brightly DSP to adhere to the flap & trimmed it to fit.
Note Cards are available in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog as are the Gold Holly Leaves; the Shining Brightly DSP and the Loose Holly Gems & Sequins are shown in the Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalog.

Good morning, good morning! Happy Labor Day Weekend… I have this super cute card for you today, so getting right to it.
This card could be good for Thanksgiving or for Christmas. Yes, it does have holly leaves as part of the embellishments and ond colored on the cake, but … remove the embellishments and add something else for embellishment, color the sweater a different color, maybe Pumpkin Pie and there ya go. Oh, and don’t stamp the badger.
I used Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper in this wonderful plaid for the card front and another piece of DSP from the same pack for the pop-out portion. The card base is Pecan Pie.
Cut the card base 8 1/2 x 5 12 and score at 4 1/4
Cover the front in Designer Series Paper 4 x 5 1/4 (this is Let’s Go Fishing DSP)
Using a die from Stylish Shapes Dies, place it on the card front, centering left to right, and die cut.
Add a panel of Very Vanilla 4 x 5 1/4 to the inside of the card.
Cut a panel of Pecan Pie card stock 6 x 4 1/2 and cover in DSP 5 3/4 x 4 1/4. Score on the long side at 2″ & 4″. Burnish well.
Stamp the badger image from Festive & Fun stamp set on the second panel in Memento ink and color with Stampin’ Blends Crumb Cake. Color Lifter and Real Red for the candy cane stripes.
Cut a panel of Very Vanilla 4 x 1 1/2; stamp the sentiment from Festive & Fun stamp set in Real Red ink; add Real Red strips; adhere to far left panel of this three panel fold.
Adhere this three fold panel, centering, to the inside of the card. TIP: Before adhering it in place close card to make certain it centers with the circle opening of the card front.
Die cut the same size circle as the card front in Real Red card stock
Stamp image from Festive & Fun stamp set in Memento ink on a Very Vanilla panel and punch out with 2 3/8 circle punch. Color with Stampin’ Blends Crumb Cake, Real Red, Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lolly (bottom of cake) and Wink of Stella for the cake top. Adhere this to the Real Red Circle.
Close card front with the inside three-fold panel folded; adhere decorated circle to the folded panel in the circle opening.
Decorate card front as desired.
I added a bow with Linen Thread and Real Red ribbon from the Real Red and Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack
I also added these super cute holly leaves from the Loose Holly Gems & Sequins in the new Sep-Dec 2023 Mini catalog.
The photo at left shows how the pop-out card looks from the top. The next photo is the card & envelope… the flap is covered in more of the Let’s Go Fishing DSP and the front is stamped with this cute bird in Memento ink from the Festive & Fun stamp set. It was colored with Real Red Stampin’ Blends.
Fun card, right? I can’t wait to see what you create with this Pop-Out idea. So many stamp sets to choose from!

Welcome to another Thursday… and the amazing Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We have a color challenge for this hop.
I found the directions for this card and it seemed a clever way of making the card more flexible – and just had to give it a try. Susan Campfield was the demonstrator and had another name for it. Here’s what it looks like open.
Notice how there is a gap between the front of the card and the back of the card – that’s the split. And here’s how the card looks from the top.
Directions to make this card are not all that complicated – and all the colors for the color challenge are in the DSP :O) I used Blueberry Bushel for the card base, Pretty Peacock for stamping one of the sentiments and Bubble Bath and Lemon Lime Twist are in the DSP – so we’re good.
Cut the card base back from Blueberry Bushel 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Cut the card front in two parts: Blueberry Bushel 1 3/4 x 5 12 & Masterfully Made DSP 3 x 5 1/2
Adhere the two front panels together so they measure 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Cut the ‘M’ section from Blueberry Bushel 11 x 4 3/4 and score on the long side @ 2 3/4, 5 1/2, 8 1/4. Burnish as valley, mountain, valley as shown above.
Decorate panels as desired: Basic White layers are 2 1/2 x 4 1/2
Panel 1 is stamped with Pretty Peacock ink using the Charming stamp set; Radiating Stitches Dies was used to die cut the heart from Masterfully Made DSP
Panel 2 is a layer of Masterfully Made DSP 2 14 x 4 1/4 on the Basic White panel
Panel 3 is the same Masterfully Made DSP pattern as the heart, cut 1 x 4 1/4 adhered to the Basic White panel. Here I will write my message.
Panel 4 is this pretty stamp from Gorgeously Made stamp set, stamped with Pretty Peacock ink, stamped off once. Over that is another sentiment, this time from So Sincere stamp set (available Sep.6 in the Mini Sep-Dec 2023 Catalog) in full strength Blueberry Bushel ink on the Basic White panel.
On the inside of the back of the card, I used the Gorgeously Made stamp set and Blueberry Bushel ink to stamp these pretty images
Adhere the now decorated ‘M’ fold to the inside of the card front, keeping bottom edges even with card front; secure to back in same fashion.
Decorate the card front:
The sentiment was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink to a Basic White scrap using the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set, then die cut with the coordinating Wonderful Thoughts Dies. This was adhered to the card front with dimensionals cut in half. Three Berry Burst embellishments were added from the Tinsel Gems 4 Pack.
I used another pattern of the Masterfully Made DSP to adhere to the envelope, trimmed to fit – 2 1/4 x 6.
Fun card to make! I hope you give it a try and share your photos with me.

It’s Sunday and a glorious 60 degrees! But what that also says to me is summer is coming to an end… and I’m sad about that. Don’t get me wrong, fall is gorgeous, but there is something about the long days of summer that I really like; dawn at 5 AM and sun going down about 9:30 PM. This card is another sneaky peek at the Beary Cute stamp set and coordinating DSP. I love these bears, their faces mostly, whimsical.
The bear was fussy cut from the Beary Christmas 12×12 DSP. I put dimensionals on him & set this aside. The next was die cutting this gorgeous die from Holographic Trio DSP using the Christmas Classics Dies. As you can see, the die has lots of detail. I did peel one of the layers off the back to make the paper a bit thinner; then sprayed it lightly on the back with water to soften it. Then I ran it through the Cut & Emboss machine. :O) I next die cut the layer on which the bear is attached – a die from the Christmas Classics Dies and from Earthen Textures DSP. I put dimensionals on this and attached it to the larger die cut, then added the bear. I cut a piece of Misty Moonlight card stock 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 and ran it through the NEW Snowflake Sky 3D embossing Folder. This will be available to customer Sep 6 in the Mini Sep-Dec 2023 Catalog. If you don’t have a Stampin’ Up catalog yet, please connect with me & I’ll get it in the mail ASAP!
Next I created the Dutch Door card base: Very Vanilla card stock cut 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2. On the short side, cut at 2 1/8 to the score line. Remove paper, rotate and cut along score line to the 2 1/8 cut, removing the top front half of the card base. (Save this for the inside of the card.) And that’s your dutch door! I ran that bottom ‘door’ through the same Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder to create more texture for the card. I added the square decorated panel with the bear, adhering it just to the ‘door’ of the card front, centering it. I added three Festive Pearls in silver.
I cut a length of the Beary Christmas 12×12 DSP 2 x 5 3/8 and adhered it to the top half of the inside card base. The removed Very Vanilla panel to make the dutch door, was cut down to 2 x 5 3/8. I stamped this cute bear in Misty Moonlight ink using the Beary Cute stamp set. I adhered this to the inside of the card and worked on the sentiment. On a scrap of Very Vanilla, I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink using Beary Cute stamp set. I angled the ends, added dimensionals and attached it in the center of the card. I added three Festive Pearls in silver.
For the envelope: more of the same pattern from Beary Christmas 12×12 DSP for the flap trimmed to fit; and this adorable bear stamped across the envelope front in Misty Moonlight ink using the Beary Cute stamp set.
OK, I mentioned these stamps and dies will be available Sep 6 via the Mini 2023 Sep-Dec catalog. Good Wednesday morning! We took our walk early this morning and it was sprinkling just a bit – and you know what, it was refreshing. :O) But you aren’t here for that… I have a really F-U-N card for you today.
What I like about this card: colors, three dimension, texture and fun fold! All these wrapped up in one :O) I used Masterfully Made DSP for each of the panels; Gorgeously Made bundle for the die cuts and sentiment; Adhesive-Backed Sequin Trio Pack and Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack; and Vellum. The card base is Berry Burst. Here’s a view from the top.
Here’s a view of the back where you add your additional message.
This was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink and the stamp is from Gorgeously Made stamp set;Basic White panel.
Envelope front and envelope back…
The envelope front was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink. The envelope flap was stamped in second generation Smoky Slate – both stamps from Gorgeously Made stamp set.

I am so excited to share this Fun Fold with you… it’s called a springboard fun fold and it’s from Susan Campfield, a SU! demonstrator.
Let me show you what it looks like ‘open’ and from the top.
The photo at far left shows the completed card sort of lying open. The next photo shows an incomplete card from the top. The ‘springs” are on the additional accordion or z-fold of the card. And, here you can see one of the ‘springs’. The springs make the card a bit bouncy, which is fun. In the photo at left, the sentiment on the inside is also on a ‘spring’. Directions… oh, you want them, do you? :O)
Directions:
Card base is 4 1/4 x 5 12 – (here I used Petal Pink)
Layer 2 is same color of card stock cut 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 scored at 2 3/4 and 4 1/8. The first fold is mountain and the next is valley. Burnish.
Cut a piece of DSP (here I used Delightfully Eclectic DSP) 1 1/8 x 4 and adhere to the left side of the card base, giving about a 1/4″ edge.
Adhere Layer 2 so it is centered on the card base itself, giving about 1/8″ edge to the DSP
Add a strip 1 1/8 x 4 to the card base on the right side, not overlapping Layer 2.
HINT: the 1 1/8 x 4 strips could be an embossed panel or DSP
Time to make the ‘springs’:
cut 3 pieces 3/4 x 3 1/2 and score each the same: 3/4, 1 1/8, 1 1/2, 2 1/4, 2 5/8, 3. Each strip will look as though there are 2 m’s. Burnish.
add tear n tape to the inside on the short end
adhere over longer end slipping longer end to the fold line. Refer to photos
These end up looking like m’s adhered together :O) Attach 2 of these to the 2 1/8 end of Layer 2 so they are about 1″ from top & bottom of panel.
Now it’s time to put the rest of the card together.
Cut a piece of Delightfully Eclectic DSP 4 x 4 and adhere to a piece of card stock 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. My larger piece is Basic White.
Without removing tear n tape on the two springs, place this front on the card base, centering it. Now you know it’s placement, attach to springs.
To complete my card front, I pulled out my Beautiful Balloons stamps and dies. On a piece of Basic White I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and die cut it with this very fun banner die from the Beautiful Balloons Dies. I added a length of Petal Pink ribbon from the Ribbon Combo Duo pack and attached it to the front panel with dimensionals. Notice the small stars on the banner? They were from die cutting the banner – I used my Crushed Curry marker to color them and with a dot of liquid glue added them below the sentiment. As an afterthought I added Wink of Stella to each star for a bit of sparkle. I thought it added the perfect touch. :O)
Now let’s complete the inside:
Stamp the daisy from Cheerful Daisies stamp set in Petal Pink ink. Die cut the daisy with the appropriate Cheerful Daisy Dies.
Die cut the daisy center using the Cheerful Daisy Dies from a piece of Crushed Curry and add to the daisy center.
Stamp the sentiment from Beautiful Balloons stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink on a Basic White piece. Die cut with the pretty banner die from Cheerful Daisy Dies. Adhere die cut daisy to the banner with liquid adhesive.
There is one more ‘spring’… attach it to the back of the banner, centering it. Add this to the inside of the card so that when the card is closed, the banner with the daisy does not show.
I also added a piece of 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 Basic White card stock above the daisy banner so I could write my message on it. This was such a fun card to create! I enjoyed making the fun fold and the springs add a fun touch of bouncy & lightheartedness.
OK, the envelope, which I kept easy, I stamped the daisy in Petal Pink ink using a stamp from, what else, Cheerful Daisies stamp set. The center is stamped in Crushed Curry ink using Cheerful Daisies stamp set. I used my Calypso Coral marker to add a few whimsical dots.
All the elements to make this card may be found by following my link – you may do that here to place an order – and yes, you would be ordering from me. Thanks so much! Having said that, there is more to share… Stampin’ Up! kits are on sale this month, so through 31 Aug. Some are as much as 30% off!
Kits are fun, quick and easy, and all-inclusive so there’s nothing extra to buy and nothing to store afterward.

It’s a perfect opportunity to see what paper you want more than others. Yes, you can order DOUBLE SHARES – that would mean cutting paper 6 x 12, except for those already coming in 6×6 size. That cost for Double Shares would be $60 + priority mail shipping.
FYI: Shipping can only go to addresses within the US. Please send an email to: tlsbrightspot@gmail.com. I’ll need: your name, yep, first & last are a must; an email connected to your PayPal account. (you do not need a PayPal account to pay the invoice, but I only accept PayPal.) Deadline to sign up for shares with me is September 4 @ 3PM ET. Let me know if you are interested.
Hello Saturday! We had a couple of days of wonderful temps and now we are back to humidity. Ugh. Well, this is summer and I’m not going to wish it away! Let’s take a peek at my card for today.
I’m going to confess, I don’t know the name of this fun fold and it needs a name. Help me out here, folks – let’s name it! The card base is 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 2 1/2, 3 3/4, 6 3/4 and 8 1/4. Burnish the folds in an accordion style: mountain, valley, mountain, valley.
I used Gray Granite for my card base. The next layer is Basic White with a layer of DSP: I used Subtles and Neutrals 6×6 DSP. How these layers are attached is important: leaving a border of the card base in each case.
In the first photo, the card base border is about 1/4″ on the left, top & bottom, with the excess free. In the second photo the same is true, 1/4″ from scoreline on left and 1/4″ top & bottom b order. The final panel is smaller and the layer is Pool Party with Subtles 6×6 DSP in Pool Party.
Now let’s decorate each panel:
Panel 1: The circle is die cut from Pool Party using the Stylish Shapes Dies and adhered in the center. The chicken and skateboard (from Hey Chuck stamp set) are stamped in Memento ink on Basic White and colored with Stampin’ Blends: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Gray Granite, Lemon Lolly and Pecan Pie (skateboard). Both were die cut with the Hey Chuck Dies, dimensionals added and adhered to the center of the circle. The sentiment is also from Hey Chuck stamp set and stamped in Memento ink then die cut with the Gorgeously Made banner die and added with dimensionals. Three Glossy Dots Assortment in Daffodil Delight were added for sparkle.
Panel 2: Subtles 6×6 DSP in Gray Granite to the Basic White panel. Die cut the rising sun from Lemon Lolly card stock using the Hey Chuck Dies and color with a bit of Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends. Stamp the fence from Hey Chuck stamp set on a scrap of One Horse Open Sleigh 6×6 DSP (ONLINE EXCLUSIVES) in Memento ink and die cut with die from Hey Chuck Dies. Adhere the fence with dimensionals then slip the rising sun behind adhering with liquid glue. The final step for this panel is the sentiment stamped in Memento ink using the Hey Chuck stamp set.
Panel 3: Pool Party card stock with Subtles 6×6 DSP in Pool Party layered together. The birthday cake from Hey Chuck stamp set is stamped in Memento ink on a Basic White scrap and colored with Stampin’ Blends: Lemon Lolly, Pool Party and Wink of Stella on the icing. This was die cut with the smallest circle die from Stylish Shapes Dies and adhered with liquid glue. The sentiment banner was stamped on Basic White using another stamp from Hey Chuck stamp set and Memento ink. It was die cut with a banner die from Nested Essentials Dies, dimensionals added to the back and attached. The ribbon is Grosgrain Ribbon in Pool Party added under the banner with glue dots. Three Glossy Dots Assortment in Pool Party were added to the banner for more sparkle… and the card was done.
For the envelope… more Subtles 6×6 DSP in Pool Party was added to the flap and trimmed to fit. Another chicken from Hey Chuck stamp set was stamped in Memento ink on the envelope front and colored with Stampin’ Blends: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly and Gray Granite.HINT: When coloring with Stampin’ Blends on an envelope, always slip a heavy card stock inside to prevent color bleeding through to the back of the envelope. :O)
Fun, bright card, right? Ok, what else is going on in the Stampin’ Up! world…

Good Sunday morning! Wow – it’s a beautiful c-o-o-l 65 this morning! I’ll take it. My card today is a very fun Pop-Up card that’s really pretty easy & quick. It’s a birthday card for a gentleman and I used He’s All That stamp set for the sentiments and Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper.
This is a bit like a Z-fold card: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 card base scored at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4. You can see in the photo how to fold it. I used the Earthen Elegance DSP for the mat layer as well as the top layer. It saves on the weight of the card.
The photo at left shows the mat layers in place: the front and the inside sections. The next step is the inside pop-up 4 x 5 1/2 scored @ 1/2, 1, 2, & 2 1/2. Burnish gently since this is DSP, then add tear n’ tape to sections 1, 3, & 4. Remove cover on Tear n’ Tape in section 1 & fold i8n to itself to create the pop-up. Remove Tear n Tape covers in section 3 and attach to inside back panel of card. Remove cover of last strip of Tear n Tape and adhere to 2nd panel of card.
This last photo shows the insert (pop-up) looking from the top and how it fits in the card. Now it’s time to decorate the pop-up. I die cut a Basic White piece with the Deckled Rectangle Dies then stamped the image from He’s The Man stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink, adhered it to the pop-up so it had an even border on three sides. I added four 2023-2025 In Color Dots in Pebbled Path under the stamped image.
To create the front image, I used a smaller Deckled Rectangle Die to die cut another Basic White piece to stamp another image from He’s All That stamp set in Pebbled Path ink. I layered a slightly larger piece of Earthen Elegance in Pretty Peacock to this to carry out the ‘frame’. I turned this piece over to know exactly where to add the tear n tape to adhere it to the front section (see photo). Then I removed the cover of the tear n tape & added to the front so you could see a continuous frame of color.
When the card is closed it shows the front panel and the poop-up panel framing it. That’s what I wanted to do. The next photo shows the card open.
You can see that I also added four Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio in Pretty Peacock under the sentiment. For the envelope.. more of the Earthen Elegance DSP in Pretty Peacock on the flap and several stamped stars from Alphabest stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink. At the last minute I decided to decorate the card back so I would have a place to write. I stamped the Happy in Pretty Peacock ink using the Biggest Wish stamp set. The numbers were done with the Alphabest stamp set and punched with the Best Label Punch. And now the card was complete!
WooHoo – this is a favorite of the more recent monthly Paper Pumpkin kits :O) It’s called Fun In the Sun for the July kit. It’s a side step card and very summery and fun. The three versions look like this:
Aren’t these fun? Notice thew left portion is taller than the rest and there is a slit, cut, division for the folds on the right. Let me show you side views so you get the idea of a side step card.
By looking at the side view, it is clear of the various ‘steps’ or folds that can be decorated. Here, on each ‘step’, the images are adhered. The very back ‘step’ could have been kept loose and used as am bookmark or tag. I decided not to do that and prepared no alternatives. I thought these really cute. And the envelopes were colorful as well…
This months Paper Pumpkin made 9 cards with envelopes. Such a great idea. And – you could make them birthday cards or party cards, or a ‘hello you’ card. If you would like to purchase a Paper Pumpkin subscription, you must do so prior to the 10th of any month. For August, the theme is:

Good morning. I’ve gotten a bit hooked on using One Horse Open Sleigh DSP in my cards of late – it’s beautiful, it’s scenic, and it just works! In my Thursday class we made this card and I just had to share. It’s soft and very pretty and just so easy.
From the top, the bay window card looks like this… but it folds flat for mailing.
I used Pool Party for the card base 4 1/4 x 11 and scored 1/4, 1 1/2, 3 1/4, 4 1/2 & 5 1/2. Fold the card in half and adhere the the 4 1/2 & 5 1/2 area together on the inside – so it looks like a book fold card. In the photo just above, it’s clear where the card is adhered together. Burnish the score lines well. Now it’s time to decorate with mats and DSP.
Mats 7/8 x 4 1/8 (2, end panels); 1 1/8 x 4 1/8 (2), 1 5/8 x 4 1/8 (center panel)
DSP cuts: I began by cutting my DSP 3 1/2 x 4 so that I had the scene I wanted, then cut the sections: 5/8, 1, 1 1/2, 1 & 7/8.
Adhere DSP panels to the mat sections
Adhere these to the card front keeping the scene intact. DO NOT ADHERE THE LAST FAR RIGHT PANEL JUST YET.
The far right panel needs to be on dimensionals and the card front 1/4″ section slips under this to make the bay window
Look again at the photo of the bay window from the top & on the right the dimensionals are seen. I used two Foam Adhesive strips to adhere to the final decorated panel as this creates a straight line for the 1/4″ edge of the card front to slip under.
Now for the inside of the card.
The mat is cut 3 3/8 x 4 1/8. The Basic White is cut 3 1/2 x 4. I stamped the sentiment from Horse & Sleigh stamp set in Pool Party ink. The small rabbit comes from this same Horse & Sleigh stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink stamped off. I used a remaining strip of the DSP to adhere to the far right side of this Basic White piece then adhered both to the inside of the card. And voila!
For the envelope I stamped this wonderful unadorned tree in stamped off Early Espresso ink. It comes from the Horse & Sleigh stamp set. For the flap, a piece of Subtles DSP cut to 2 1/4 x 6, adhered & trimmed to fit.
