Sympathy cards are always difficult. We often know the person well – or the family and we get emotional when making them. It can also be a form of remembrance and fond memories allowing us to feel connected differently. This is one such card.
For today’s card I have taken a leftover piece of Thoughtful Journey 6×6 DSP and cut it down to 3 x 4. I attached it with Stampin’ Seal to the Painted Texture 3D embossed panel of Basic White cut 4 x 5 1/4. This was added with dimensionals to a Thick Basic White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. With the Friends For Life Dies and Distressed Gold Specialty Paper (1 3/4 x 4), I die cut the beautiful leaf, trimmed it into two sections and adhered the longer section to the card front with small dots of liquid glue. In cut a strip of Calypso Coral 1/2 x 5 and adhered it in place, grounding the DSP scene. I added a 1/4 x 4 3/4 strip of Mossy Meadow. The sentiment strip is 3/4 x 3 3/4 stamped in Early espresso ink – using the Everyday Greetings stamp set. I adhered this with dimensionals and added the remainder of the leaf die cut from the Friends For Life Dies. To enhance the gold, I attached three Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins in gold.
I die cut that same leaf pattern with the Friends for Life Dies and Thoughtful Journey 6×6 DSP. This was adhered to a Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 panel. Another 1/4 x 5 1/4 strip of Mossy Meadow was added to the bottom – and the card was complete.
For the envelope, another piece of the Thoughtful Journey 6×6 DSP was added to the flap & trimmed to fit. I stamped the leaf from Friends for Life stamp set first in full strength Mossy Meadow ink, then stamped again without re-inking. I think it might have looked better with the single leaf, but it was done. I’m hoping the recipient will find the card hopeful and peaceful and comforting.

Hello , hello – it’s Thursday and time for another fun hop with the Inkin’ Krew! We have a theme challenge today – Critters – and I chose to use the Fluffiest Friends Bundle and coordinated it with the Friends for Life Bundle to make this cute shaker card.
The DSP is from the 24-26 In Color 6×6 pack of papers and the color is Pretty In Pink. I cut it 4 x 5 1/4, then die cut this sweet heart shape using the Friends for Life Dies. While I had those at my fingertips, I also die cut the word ‘friend’ in Basic White and a background in Pretty in Pink. I adhered these two word ‘frames’ together and set them aside. I turned the DSP over, ran a Stampin’ Seal along the edges and teeny tiny dots of liquid glue to areas of the center of the heart, then laid a window sheet on top (3 3/4 x 5) – adhering these together. Using the Foam Adhesive Strips, I created a boarder around the heart, then also around the edge of the DSP, placed several of the pink Loose Frosted Dots in the center of the heart area, peeled the backing off the adhesive strips and attached a Basic White panel, creating the background to the shaker card. :O) Next I stamped this adorable fluffy rabbit from the Fluffiest Friends stamp set: Memento ink on a Basic White scrap about 2×2 and colored it with Stampin’ Blends: Smoky Slate, Light Pretty in Pink, Light Real Red for the cherry and Light Crumb Cake for the cupcake wrapper – and die cut it using the coordinating Fluffiest Friends Dies. I adhered it in place with dimensionals. I also added Wink of Stella to the cupcake icing. I attached the word friend with liquid glue. As a final touch for the front, I added three 24-26 In Color Shimmer Gems – in Pretty in Pink of course. I added this completed front panel to a Thick Basic White card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
That thin piece of die cut heart from the front is a very narrow strip, but I added teeny tiny dabs of liquid glue to it and attached it to the inside of the card. I stamped the sentiment in Pretty In Pink ink using the Friends for Life stamp set. I stamped another adorable ‘fluffy’ – a cat from Fluffiest Friends stamp set – in Memento ink on another Basic White scrap about 2 1/2 x 2 3/4. I did very little coloring on it: Stampin’ Blends Light Pretty in Pink for the ears, nose and flower and Crumb Cake on the flower pot., Light Old Olive for the leaf. I added a single yellow Loose Frosted Dot to the center of the flower. This was die cut with the coordinating Fluffiest Friends Die and added in place with liquid glue.
For the envelope, another piece of the same 24-26 In Color 6×6 DSP adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit. On the envelope front… another adorable beast, this time colored with Stampin’ Blends Crumb Cake and Pretty In Pink. The balloon was also colored with Light Pretty in Pink and I added Wink of Stella to that as well. It gives a nice sparkle to the balloon!

It’s Thursday – and what that means is a HAPPY INKIN’ THURSDAY BLOG HOP! WooHoo! And… it’s a color challenge – which is always fun. I chose to nuse the fabulous Unbounded Beauty DSP to show it off in a first class way.
This is one of those ‘ideas’ to save to use for just about any DSP. Notice how the DSP image goes across the page, so when it was cut, it was intentional to cut it so the image ‘flowed across’. I does depend how the card is opened. If it opend from the top, the DSP ‘image’ would be from top/ down. got it?
Basics:
Card base 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2 (opens from side) [Summer Splash]
Layer: 3 3/4 x 4 1/4 [Pretty in Pink]
DSP layer: 3 1/2 x 3 3/4 cut into thirds so 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 [Unbounded Beauty DSP]
Instructions:
Add DSP to layer, wrap with ribbon & secure w/ glue dot at knot
Add this to card front w/ dimensionals
Create die cuts and slip under ribbon, adhering w/ liquid glue (die cuts are from Flowers of Beauty Dies & cut from Summer Splash and Berry Burst card stocks)
Stamp sentiment (Berry Burst ink using Unbounded Love stamp set); die cut (Unbounded Love Dies) and add with glue dot or dimensionals, depending on ribbon
Add embellishments (24-26 In Color Resin Dots Pretty In Pink)

Hello Thursday! And that means another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We have a sketch challenge today and I’ve chosen to work with the Wildflower Designs stamp set, the Labeled with Love Punch and Full of Life 6×6 DSP to create my card.
I began by punching these fun shapes using the Labeled with Love Punch and Basic White card stock. I used scraps but you could cut two pieces 2 1/2 x 4 1/2. I stamped these with two different flower designs – in Memento ink using Wildflower Designs stamp set. I colored these with Stampin’ Blends In Colors: Peach Pie, Pretty In Pink, Petunia Pop and Shy Shamrock. I then used the Summer Splash ink and the splotch stamp in the same Wildflower Designs stamp set, stamped it off once and then on the flower. I varied the placement of the stamping so it didn’t look too uniform. With the stamping and coloring completed, I cut a Full of Life 6×6 DSP 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, added two strips of Pretty in Pink card stock 1 x 4 1/8 with stampin’ Seal, then added the stamped flowers with dimensionals. I like to place my center panels first, then use equal spacing for the rest. I wrapped Black Bakers Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack around the card three times and tied a bow, securing it with a glue dot. I put dimesnionals on the DSP and adhered it to a Petunia Pop card base – 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. My final touch for the card front was adding Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins in two colors.
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment in Memento ink using the Wildflower Designs stamp set. I added a 1/2 x 4 strip of the same DSP as the card front. I also had a length of the Black Baker’s Twine that I tied in a bow and added as an enhancement. This panel was adhered in place and the card was complete.
For the envelope – a bit of another panel of Full of Life 6×6 DSP on the flap adhered in place and trimmed to fit. I stamped another of the pretty flowers from Wildflower Designs stamp set on the DSP and yet another flower on the envelope front – both in Memento ink. Again, I used the splotch stamp and Summer Splash ink to stamp over the flower in second generation ink. This is such a happy card – and I know to whom I’ll send it!

Hello folks. It’s really, really hot here in New Jersey. I’ve chosen a card today that will remind me of cooler weather (hope, hope). It’s the Changing Leaves bundle in the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES of Stampin’ Up! I’ve used Granny Apple Green and a Blending Brush to create some variation to the card.
First thing I did was run a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock through the Changing Leaves Hybrid 3D Embossing Folder with the large die in place. This embosses the image & die cuts at the same time. After removing the die cuts, I trimmed along one side, creating a ‘edge’ of leaves that I cut with my paper snips. I used the Granny Apple Green ink and Blending Brush to add color to some of the edges of the leaves. I then turned it over and laid it on a Basic White panel 4 x 5 1/4 and added color to the Basic White – both along the edge of the paper snip trimmed leaves and along the edges of the paper. I turned this back right side up, placed it again on the same Basic White panel and with a lighter touch of the Blending Brush, added more Granny Apple Green. This kind of color layering creates shadow-like effects that show depth.
Next step was to stamp the lovely leaf stamp in Granny Apple Green ink – first time full strength, then stamp again without re-inking, and do the same one more time.. That last one is really hard to see, but it’s in the upper right corner.
I added a strip of Brights 6×6 DSP in Granny Apple Green to the portion of the Granny Apple Green card stock that was not in the embossing folder,, put this whole piece on dimensionals and added it to the stamped and colored Basic White piece. This was added to a Thick Basic White card base 8 1/2 x 5 12 scored at 4 1/4. Because I had in mind using this for a sympathy card, I pulled out Sketched Butterflies stamp set for the sentiment – Thinking of You – and stamped it in Memento Ink. I die cut this with the circle die from Changing Leaves Dies. I used Seal+ to adhere the ribbon on the back of the circle, then added dimensionals and attached it to the card front. The Ribbon is Black & Very Vanilla Ribbon. I toyed with adding embellishments but didn’t really like anything.
With the card front complete I cut a remainder strip of the embossed Granny Apple Green piece (from the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder) and added it to a 4 x 5n12 Basic White piece. I die cut another leaf in Basic White and adhered it with liquid glue. This leaf is a die cut from Changing Leaves Dies.

We have a fun sketch challenge today and I’m sharing a sneak peek of new DSP that’s part of the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES and a suite of products: Season of Green & Gold 12×12 SDSP, Greetings of the Season stamp set (it’s a bundle really, but I only used the stamp set), and Golden Greenery stamp set (also a bundle but only used the stamp set for this card.)
This DSP is gorgeous – and I used the Basic Borders Dies for the fun accent trim. The final touch was adding Pecan Pie Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots. To create this card…the card base is Garden Green card stock cut 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. I added a piece of the Season of Green & Gold SDSP cut 4 x 5 1/4 and adhered directly to the card base. I turned this same SDSP over to the other side and cut a piece 2 1/2 x 3, then trimmed it at an angle. I adhered only the far left corner to the card front. With the Basic Border dies and a strip of Old Olive 3/4 x 5, I cut a trim piece, then adhered that to a piece of Very Vanilla 1 x 5, then slipped it under the corner piece, adhering it in place. After all was adhered in place, I trimmed the overlapping Basic Border trims. I then added three embellishments in Pecan Pie from the Pecan Pie and Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots.
For the inside, I cut a Very Vanilla panel 4 x 5 1/4 and stamped it in Garden Green ink with the Greetings of the Season sentiment stamp. I added a strip of Basic Border die cut in Garden Green to coordinate with the card front.
For the envelope, I added a piece of the Season of Green & Gold 12×12 SDSP to the envelope flap then stamped the front of the envelope using the Golden Greenery stamp set and the pine bough stamp – first in Old Olive ink, then the detail pine bough in Mossy Meadow ink. And WooHoo, first holiday card!
Now, just have to say… I had unfinished elements of a card on my desk (anyone else have that?) and decided to use the pieces to follow the sketch. This card uses some retired SU! products but also uses a current bundle called Stippled Roses. The roses were stamped in Smoky Slate ink and colored with Blending Brushes and several inks: Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, and Old Olive. After coloring I used Wink of Stella to add glam to all the dark lines of the design. The leaf die cuts are from Old Olive card stock. The embellishments are Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins – another ONLINE EXCLUSIVE. The card base is Thick Basic White. The additional layers are Smoky Slate and a retired free DSP the name of which I do not remember. On the inside of the card is stamped the gorgeous leaves from Stippled Roses stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink. I will add shopping information for this card as well, but separately. My main purpose is to share how using a sketch can bring a different level of creativity depending on the stamps/ dies/ and other elements used. Hope you enjoyed this bit of ‘extra’.

Good Sunday morning. I’ve been attending a convention the past couple of days asnd while I thought this post went out, it didn’t. :O( Those of you who ordered DSP/ Ribbon shares from me – may have received your package already – or will perhaps on Monday. My overnight order arrived Thursday noon just as I was leaving for convention – so U packed everything up – paper trimmer, boxes for mailing, scissors – all that, & off I went. Timing is everything! Got the packages mailed Friday afternoon. :O) Now – the reason you are on my blog today is to see a creation of some sort – and here it is…
This is such pretty DSP – the 24-26 In Color 6×6 pack. Here’s what I did… I layered one of the Peach Pie designs on the Thick Basic White card front and adhered it in place. I cut the leaf piece 2 3/4 x 4 1/2, then layered it on Pumpkin Pie just slightly larger. I wrapped a length of the B ordered Ribbon in Peach Pie and tied a bow, securing it in place with a glue dot.I added another Peach Pie card stock layer cut larger yet, then added these to the card front. It created a nice layering effect. I pulled out this simple sentiment from the New Unbounded Love stamp set and stamped it in Peach Pie ink, then die cut it with the Unbounded Love Dies., added dimensionals to the back and put in place. Let me just add here, this Unbounded Love Bundle is a sentiment bundle and the stamps & dies are wonderful! There’s nothing like having more sentiments in your stash. As a final touch – a bit of bling with the 24-26 In Color Gems, in Peach Pie of course. Monochromatic card all the way :O)
Using a scrap of the 24-26 In Color DSP 6×6 Peach Pie, I added the 1/2″ strip to the Basic White card panel (4 x 5 1/4) – and that was it.
For the envelope… another panel of the 24-26 In Color 6×6 Peach Pie was added to the envelope flap & trimmed to fit. Love this card showing off this particular pack of DSP!

HelIo again – it is April 30 – the final day of two catalogs: the Jan-Apr 2024 catalog and the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. decided to share one more card – or 3 – of the same layout, but in retiring papers… These cards use Forever Love 12×12 SDSP and Poetic Expressions DSP. + the Color & Contour bundle. Here they are…
Card 1 w/ Forever Love SDSP
Cards 3 & 2 w/ Poetic Expressions DSP
Card 1 uses Pretty Peacock card base and is layered with Forever Love SDSP and Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper, Pretty Peacock Foil Gems and Gold ribbon. I used Stitched Shapes Dies to create the sentiment .
Card 2 uses Thick Basic White for the card base, a layer of Wild Wheat embossed with the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder, then the layers of Poetic Expressions DSP. This card uses the Textured Ribbon in Wild Wheat, the Color & Contour stamp set for the sentiment, die cut with the same Stitched Shapes Dies circle. This was embellished with the 24-26 In Color Shimmer Gems in pink.
Card 3 is so similar… the difference is Wild Wheat card base and embellishments of 23-25 In Color Dots in Wild Wheat. Everything else is the same as card 2.

The inside of the cards are similar as well… a flower stamped then stamped again with a filler stamp w/ second generation ink. On the Pretty Peacock card, I added a layer of the Forever Love SDSP before adhering the inner panel – and of course the flower is stamped with Pretty Peacock ink. The other two cards have no DSP layer for the inside, just the stamped panel in Wild Wheat and second generation ink for the flower ‘filler’.

The envelopes… Pretty Peacock ink was used to stamp the flower on both the envelope flap and the envelope front. On the other two cards I adhered Poetic Expressions DSP to the flap & trimmed to fit and stampoed the flower image in Wild Wheat ink. Finis.

Isn’t this pretty? I’m heading to a convention on Thursday and the ‘logo’ is daisies – so what better use of this Delightfully Eclectic DSP and Scalloped Contour Dies? and this fun fold is so quick & easy.
Directions
* Cut card base – here it is Thick Basic White – 4 1/4 x 10 1/4, score at 5 1/2
* Cut Designer Series Paper – Delightfully Eclectic DSP – 4 1/4 x 4 34 and adhere to card front
* While this is drying, cut additional pieces of DSP 2 5/8 x 3 15/16 + 2 1/4 x 6 (envelope flap)
* Place card front in Paper Trimmer and cut on the diagonal. For my measurements I used 1 1/4 on left upper corner and about 1 1/2 on right lower corner.
* Using Basic White card stock and the 2nd largest of the Scalloped Contour Dies, create the scalloped piece. Adhere the small panel(2 5/8 x 3 15/16) of DSP to it’s center. Add dimensionals to the back of this panel, both top & bottom.
* Add this panel to the closed card front – top portion only! Remember the cut diagonal removed the bottom :O) It will be about 1/2″ from top of fold and about 5/8″ from each side.
* With the card closed, slip the bottom diagonal piece under the scalloped die cut, making it even with the inside of the card bottom & sides. Remove backing on remaining dimensionals and close card.
* Using the Sweetly scripted stamp set, Tuxedo Black Memento ink and a 4 1/4 x 1″ strip of Basic White, stamp the preferred sentiment. Add dimensionals to each end and adhere over the die cut panel
On the inside of the card… on a Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 panel and using the daisy outline stamp from Color & Contour stamp set, stamp in Petal Pink both in the upper right corner and lower left. Now stamp the ‘fill’ image of the flower in stamped off Petal Pink – this is called second generation stamping. Add the panel to the inside of the card – and done! I created at least 3 of these, just like this, then did two others using the Subtles 6×6 DSP in Petal Pink to cover the card front, yet continued with the Delightfully Eclectic Daisy DSP on the Scalloped Contour Die.
For the envelope, I used another piece of the Delightfully Eclectic DSP to cover the envelope flap and trimmed it to fit. On the envelope front, I did the same daisy stamp from Color & Contour stamp set with Petal Pink ink. I did the same for all five cards.
