Stampin’ Up! Z Fold Window Card

Hello Friday! It’s been a busy week here and what we’ve got today is a fun fold for Valentines. And these are for our grand kids :O) I think they are going to like them. I’ve used Sunshine & Rainbows 6×6 DSP (FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order – just sayin’) and some of the new stamp bundles from the Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog.

For the card on the & far left I’ve used the Brilliant Rainbows Dies to get the rainbow, die cut directly from the Sunshine & Rainbows 6×6 DSP! And I used the Cloud Punch to create the clouds, again, directly punching them from the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP. The little heart is from the Sweet Hearts Dies.

For the middles card I taken the heart from the Love & Happiness bundle – using the Bouquet of Love dies and the smaller heart. The sentiment panel is a die from that same set, while the sentiment is from Love & Happiness stamp set.

For the far right cards: heart, flowers and sentiment banner are all from the Bouquet of Love Dies. The DSP is another of the Rainbows & Sunshine 6×6 DSP.

OK, I got theses in reverse order! But you can still see they are all different while still being the same fold. And here’s the full view of the inside when it’s pulled fully open.

Z Fold Valentines

Sweet conversations stamp set for the hearts & both sentiments.

Sweet Conversations stamp set for the sentiments on the center; Happy & heartfelt for the sentiment on the flap; and the tiny hearts are from Rainbows of Happiness stamp set.

Z Fold Window card, inside

The sentiment & hearts are from Rainbows of Happiness stamp set.

Directions for creating this fun fold are super easy.

  • Card base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Basic White panel is 8 x 5 1/4, scored at 4″ & 6″
  • The Designer Series Paper is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (front panel); 1 3/4 x 5 (inside panel) and 1/2 x 4, all from the same DSP piece, just turned over to use the opposite side
  • Adhere the DSP to the card front and cut the window with the Layering Circles Dies. I found it helpful to run it through twice for a sure cut.
  • Stamp the Basic White panel as desired, then adhere to the inside of the card as shown.
  • You may at this point chose to die cut additional circles, just be certain to use the same size as the circle cut from the card front – so it covers the entire window opening. Adhere all pieces together.
  • Close the card and adhere the circles making certain to put adhesive only on the side that attaches to the fold :O). It’s best to adhere when the card is closed, so the circle fits the window perfectly.
  • Now finish decorating the circle as desired, making certain nothing interferes with the closure. Finis!

Stampin’ Up! Love & Happiness Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. There are all kinds of possibilities this week ~ creativity overload. May you have fun as you join the tour of projects made for this weeks hop.

As you travel around the hop today, you will notice the theme is love. How perfect this is since Valentines Day in the US is right around the corner!

May be an image of text that says 'Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop January 27 Theme Challenge Love Love'

Isn’t this card just beautiful and serene? The Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder does all the work ~ and so easily.I inserted a piece of Very Vanilla card stock AND the heart from the Bouquet of Love Dies and ran it through the die cutting machine… and voila! the paper was embossed & die cut all in one fell swoop :O). I added that panel to the Very Vanilla card base with liquid glue, adhering the heart with dimensionals over the heart opening. I used three strands of Linen Thread to create a bow and adhered that with a glue dot. The sentiment was stamped with the Sweet Conversations stamp set in Sahara Sand ink on another piece of Very Vanilla. I die cut it with the Bouquet of Love Dies, put dimensionals on the back and added it to the card front. I added three Pearl Basic Jewels for additional charm… and the card front was done.

Love & Happiness Bundle.1

For the inside, I had fun stamping hearts on the Very Vanilla panel in Sahara Sand ink. I stamped the sentiment using the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set and Sahara Sand ink. This is such a fun stamp set – the font is a bit funky but gently flowing. I die cut three flowers using the Bouquet of Love Dies, adhered them with dabs of liquid glue and embellished these with more Pearl Basic Jewels. This panel was adhered with liquid glue to the inside of the card.

Love & Happiness.2, inside

For the envelope, I took a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and embossed it with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder, adhered it to the flap with liquid glue and trimmed to fit. On the front I randomly stamped more of the hearts from the Sweet Conversations stamp set in Sahara Sand ink. This is just so elegant – love everything about it. Hope you like it as well.

Stampin’ Up! Flowering Fields DSP Just a Note

Happy Monday! It’s bright & sunshiny here today, but brrrr cold. I hope you had a cozy weekend, a time to relax and a time to play with maybe just a little bit of work mixed in – balance. It’s all about balance, isn’t it?

Today’s card is another using this fabulous tulip pattern from the Flowering Fields 12 x 12 DSP pack. I really like this pattern and well, I just needed to create with it again. :O) This is such a fun layout and a post by Amy Koenders way back in November inspired me. Yesterday I posted a card made with this same pattern of DSP but bordered with Poppy Parade. Today I’ve used Pear Pizzazz and it gives the DSP a different look. The background paper is from this same pack, just not the flowery side 🙂 Here are the details…

Flowering Fields Just a note.1`
  • Prepare a card base (Pear Pizzazz) 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
  • Cut a panel of Flowering Fields DSP 3 1/2 x 4 3/4; cut in half lengthwise; cut right half 1 3/4 x 1 3/4, then 1 3/4 x 2 3/4
  • Adhere pieces to Pear Pizzazz: 1 7/8 x 4 7/8; 1 7/8 x 1 7/8; 1 7/8 x 2 7/8. Put dimensionals on back and adhere, large left panel first, the the right pieces.
  • Slip a length of Crinkled Seam Binding in White behind the lower panels and tie a bow, securing at the knot with a glue dot.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Flowing Flowers stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink on a Basic White strip; trim right end at an angle; put dimensionals on back and add over the ribbon.
  • For a final bit of bling, add three Opal Rounds ~ and the card front is done!
Flowering Fields w/ Flowering Rain Boots, inside

For the inside…

  • Stamp the leaves from Flowering Rain Boots in Pear Pizzazz ink on a post it note & fussy cut to create a mask – set aside
  • Stamp the leaves from Flowering Rain boots in Pear Pizzazz in on a Basic White panel 4 x 5 1/4
  • Lay the mask on top of the leaves and stamp the flower pot in Calypso Coral ink, again using the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set
  • Stamp the flower tops in Poppy Parade ink, making sure to only stamp the needed flower heads. And yes, these are from Flowering Rain Boots stamp set.
  • Using a Stamparatus for proper alignment, stamp the sentiment from Flowing Flowers stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink.
  • Add panel to the inside of the card with liquid glue.

For the envelope….

Flowering Fields Just a Note.3

All I did to the envelope is simply add the same Flowering Fields 12 x 12 DSP that I used for the background on the front of the card, to the envelope flap ~ and it’s ready for mailing! If the mailman hasn’t arrived yet, this will go to a friend who just had a knee replacement. She loves a handmade card!

So, what do you think? Like this card? Or do you prefer yesterday’s card? Here it is for a comparison.

Flowering Fields B’day

Interesting how similar and yet different these two cards are, just by using different coordinating card stock and some trimming. Would love to know if you have a preference between the two.

I have a beautiful card for you today, one in which the Designer Series Paper does all the work. The DSP is called Flowering Fields 12 x 12 and it truly is something else.

Flowering Fields DSP b’day.1

I inked two new stamp sets today – and one is called Flowing Flowers – see the sentiment on the card? That’s from Flowing Flowers. I love this font! It’s fresh & light. Here’s what I did to make the card…

  • Poppy Parade 1/8 x 5 1/2 (cut 4); adhere one length on each side of the DSP
  • Using the Flowing Flowers stamp set, stamp sentiment in Poppy Parade ink on a Basic White scrap; die cut with an Ornate Frames die; adhere with dimensionals as shown
  • Tie a bow using the Open Weave Ribbon in Pale Papaya and adhere with a glue dot. Done!

For the inside….

  • Using the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set, stamp the stems/ leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink. Stamp the coordinating flowers in Blushing Bride ink

Stampin’ Up! Flowering Fields DSP and Amazing Thanks Dies

The January to June 2022 Mini Catalog is full of absolutely amazing project ideas, new stamp & die sets AND new Designer Series Papers. I hadn’t played much with the Flowering Fields DSP, so when I began doing so, well, I fell in love with it. I saw a layout on Pinterest that I decided to use and adapted it to this card.

Flowering Fields / Amazing Thanks Dies.1

Isn’t that DSP beautiful? I love how gentle the flowers look, sort of blowing in the breeze. And here’s how I made this card.

  • Cut a panel of Rich Razzleberry 4 1/8 x 5 3/8; run it through the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder; adhere with liquid glue to the Basic White Thick card base
  • Cut a panel of Basic White 3 x 3 1/2 and run it through the Meadow Moments embossing folder; adhere as shown with liquid glue
  • Cut a length of Flowering Fields DSP 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 and adhere, centering on the card front.
  • Using the Layering Circles Dies, cut a circle from Highland Heather card stock. Put dimensionals on the back and attach where shown
  • Using the Amazing Thanks Dies, die cut the sentiment from Basic White and adhere with liquid glue.
  • Attach several (here I used 5) Brushed Brass Butterflies.
  • And just one more touch of sparkle was needed… cut a length of the Glittered Organdy Ribbon in White and attached with a glue dot under the circle. Love…❤️

For the inside…

Flowering Fields / Amazing Thanks, inside

With the Amazing Thanks Dies comes this wonderful stamp set, Amazing Silhouettes, and this butterfly is absolutely perfect for the inside of this card. Stamp it in Highland Heather ink as shown, on a Basic White panel and adhere to the inside of the card. Done!

For the envelope, I turned this tulip panel over and saw this wonderful color spray from Highland Heather to Rich Razzleberry, and adhered it to the flap. For the envelope front, I stamped the same butterfly from Amazing Silhouettes in Highland Heather ink.

I had such fun creating this card. It’s going in my stash, but I do love it and can’t wait to send it to just the right person. :O)

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Hearts Dies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

WooHoo ~ it’s Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. You’re going to see some wonderful ideas from this group, so let’s get on with it.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 18034290_10213018857694437_1570318010991291595_n.jpg

And we have a sketch challenge this week that is kinda fun – and you will see many ideas for making this sketch shine.

May be an image of text that says 'Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop January 20- Sketch Challenge'

My card is a Note card and I’v e chosen to work with the Abstract Beauty 4 x 6 SDSP and the Sweet Hearts Dies. Let’s take a peak.

Sweet Hearts Dies.1

Are these tiny hearts sweet or what?! The die I used cuts four of these at a time which makes it really easily to die cut multiples. As I look at this, I’m wondering why I didn’t add another strip of color to the inside of the Abstract Beauty 4×6 SDSP… Hmmm. A bit of ribbon maybe. Well, another card another day 🙂 These note cards are 3 1/2 x 5, so I cut a panel of Basic White card stock just that size, stamped the sentiment (from Rainbow of Happiness stamp set) in Magenta Madness ink, then ran this through the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I added the two narrow strips of the Abstract Beauty 4×6 SDSP to each side. I die cut the hearts from the same SDSP. The top gold heart is on a mini dimensional cut down to fit. The other hearts are added with dabs of liquid glue, and I put the dot of glue right on the card front in lieu of the heart.

For the inside of the card….

Sweet Heart Dies.2

I added another strip of the Abstract Beauty 4×6 SDSP to the right inside of the card and final heart die cut. Sweet, simple.

Sweet Heart Dies.3

For the envelope I stamped the front with the same sentiment from Rainbows of Happiness stamp set buty used Blushing Bride ink. And for envelope flap, a piece of Simply Marbelous 6×6 DSP (FREE during Sale-a-bration!) adhered with liquid glue and trimmed to fit.

Sale-a-bration is from 4 Jan to 28 Feb ~ that means placing orders during this time can earn you some FREE PRODUCTS. What are you waiting for??? Stampin’ Up! Abstract Beauty DSP B’day

Hello Folks! I’ve been knocked sideways by a cold – slept nearly all of Sunday. Made a card for Monday’s post on Monday… here it is almost 4 PM on Monday – so it will go out properly Tuesday morning. 🙂

Abstract Beauty DSP B’day.1

I happen to love plaids and sometimes some of the ‘other sides’ of designer series papers are more appealing to me. The flower patterns are pretty, but this pattern really struck me. This is 4×6 paper to begin with, so I cut it down to 4 x 5 1/4, adhered a Basic White panel to the back for strength then used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to do the work. I used the 4th &n 5th rectangles to cut the plaid panels and saved the border that was removed. You’ll see why soon enough. I stamped the sentiment on a Basic White scrap with balmy Blue ink using the new Artfully Layered stamp set and die cut it with another of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. At this point I adhered the plaid pieces by putting dimensionals on the back and attaching them to a Just Jade card front. The card needed something else. Since I had this new stamp set out, I also pulled the coordinating dies: Tropical Layers Dies and some Pear Pizzazz scrap and cut this fine frond. I adhered it right on the plaid front with dabs of liquid glue, and added all the little die cut pieces too and liked it. The sentiment panel got more dimensionals and was added on. Voila – love the look.

Remember, I saved that plaid piece that was removed when I die cut the rectangles. Here’s what I did with it.

Abstract Beauty DSP B’day.2

I adhered the left-over piece to a panel of Basic White, then stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue ink. And done… The best part, this could so easily be a masculine card ~ and it’s going to be! I have a twin brother and our birthday is in February, this is for him :O) And since he doesn’t read my blog, I can share it early 👍

The envelope… I used another of the Abstract Beauty 4×6 DSP pieces for the envelope flap; adhered & trimmed to fit. For the front I stamped this interesting word stamp from the Artfully Layered stamp set in Balmy Blue ink.

Abstract Beauty DSP B’day.3
Abstract Beauty B’day.4

Fun! I’m really happy with this card for my brother. It didn’t start out to be for him, but as I moved along, well, it just happened! Now I have to wait to send it… hope it doesn’t get ‘lost in the shuffle’. 🥴

Products are listed below so feel free to order away :O) If you do not have a demonstrator and need an Annual Catalog please reach out to me – happy to send one to you. Stampin’ Yp! Dahlia Days

Happy Sunday! I’ve been “under the weather” of late ~ substantial cold, and it’s taken a wee bit out of me… I played in my craft room yesterday and made this super feminine card for a friend of mine. She brought hubby and me a cake & a container of whipped cream cheese – yum. And when one isn’t feeling their best, there’s simply nothing like a hot tea & cake to the rescue. Makes me feel better just because of her gesture. So today’s card is for her.

Dahlia Days.1

It begins with a Basic White Thick card base with a layer of Gorgeous Grape just a wee smaller adhered to the card front, then this Marbelous 6×6 DSP (FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order ~ this one is a mix of colors: Highland Heather & Gorgeous Grape) adhered to that, and just a wee bit smaller still. I added a small strip of Fresh Freesia card stock just for a highlight. I die cut the gorgeous overlay from Basic White card stock and attached it with dabs of liquid glue. You COULD adhere an adhesive sheet to the basic white panel so it wouldn’t need glue, but I didn’t do that here. I added several Pastel Pearls in Highland Heather & Gorgeous Grape, then a few Metallic Pearls in silver. The final touch is this wonderful bow using the Open Weave Ribbon in Fresh Freesia. The more I look at this, the more I like it.

Dahlia Days, inside

For the inside, I stamped this beautiful image of a dahlia bouquet with the lines on a Basic white panel. This is really meant for a tag, ‘cuz there’s a die cut for it, but I wanted to use it this way today. :O) It was stamped in Highland Heather ink. The words come from the Dahlia Days stamp set as well and they are stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink. I mounted this with liquid glue to another panel of Gorgeous Grape card stock then right into the card. And the card was done!

This particular stamp set is a Distinctive stamp, which indicates it has more ‘layers’ in the stamp, giving it more dimension. It shows more clearly on the envelope – let’s take a look.

Envelope front: Dahlia Days

The imagery just makes this dahlia seem almost real – as though you could reach out and touch it. Above is my envelope front, and for the flap, I covered it in more of the Marbelous 6×6 DSP :O)

Stampin’ Up! Sending Hugs for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

January is moving right along… the winter cold seems here to stay… not unusual for this time of year. :O) Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! it’s always fun to see what the other team members haver chosen and how fabulously creative they are.

We have an exciting color theme for our hop today and I’ve chosen to use maybe, every color and more.

May be an image of text that says 'Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop January 3- Color Challenge- Pick At Least 3 Real Red Petal Pink HighlandHeather Heather Highland Pool Party Granny Apple Green'
Sending Hugs Bundle – Happy Inkin’ Th Blog Hop

This new bundle just arrived Tuesday and I couldn’t wait to play with it. After stamping with Memento Black ink on a Basic White panel, I chose to color the design with Stampin’ Blends using all the colors listed in the challenge: Real red (I used a marker for the berries), Pool Party for the sentiment, Granny Apple Green for all the leaves, and Petal Pink &Flirty Flamingo for extra definition and finally Highland Heather. This became my main card front. I stamped another of the same image on Basic White and die cut it with the Layering Hugs Dies, then colored with the same colors mentioned above. This panel became the top panel on dimensionals. I also die cut the single letters using another one of the dies, from Pool Party card stock and adhered over the letters in the panel. The die cut letters are smaller, can you tell? And I off-set them to make it look as though there were a shadow.I stamped the word BIRTHDAY in Memento ink on a scrap of Basic White and die cut it with this tiny banner. I added a 2021-2023 In Color Jewel to the left of the word, put dimensionals on the back and placed it. Then I added more of the same 2021-2023 In Color Jewels on the top right and bottom left. To me, it brings all the colors together. It’s a very spring-like card :O) I mounted this on a slightly larger Black piece, put dimensionals on the back and attached it to the Pool Party card base. And the front was done!

Sending Hugs Bundle – Happy Inkin’ Th Blog Hop, inside

For the inside of the card, I stamped this super cute flower three times in Memento Black ink, then colored it with Stampin’ Blends: Granny Apple Green for the leaves, Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo for the flower. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with liquid glue – love the simplicity since the front is busy.

Sending Hugs Bundle – Happy Inkin’ Th Blog Hop

For the envelope I took the leaf stamp from Sending Hugs stamp set and stamped it randomly on the flap in Memento Black ink, then only once on the envelope front. Again, I like the simplicity of the envelope since the card is busy with color.

Products are listed below so feel free to order away :O) If you do not have a demonstrator and need an Annual Catalog please reach out to me – happy to send one to you. Stampin’ Up! Hey Sports Fan and Sports Event Dies B’day

Hello folks! How’s your day? It’s r-e-a-l-l-y cold here in central Jersey, brrr. Our Christmas decorations are finally down and put away. I resisted for as long as I could :O) Needles, needles everywhere from the tree. I bet I vacuumed at least four times, ‘cuz I kept finding more needles. 🥴 Those are the hazards of a fresh cut tree. And I know that.

Today’s card is for our grandson who turns 14 very soon. He’s a hunk of a young man, 8th grade and I really did NOT know what to do… I looked through the new DSP and found… Hey Sports Fan and made it work. I hope he likes it.

Hey Sports Fan DSP & Sports Event Dies B’day.1

The background DSP is from this Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 DSP. The ‘ticket and flag banner are die cut from one of the papers using the Sports Event Dies. The stars I fussy cut and added Shimmer Crystal Effects for a bit more shine and dimension. You can clearly see I die cut the ticket twice: once from the Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 DSP, and the background for that from Night of Navy card stock. I cut the Night of Navy piece in half and adhered it to the Hey There ticket with liquid glue. I added the star with a dimensional once it was dry from the Crystal Effects. The flag banner was die cut from a piece of the Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 DSP, then an additional piece was added die cut in Bumblebee card stock, I took the Wink of Stella pen and covered the word with it to extra glam.

Hey Sports Fan DSP & Sports Event Dies.2

I put dimensionals on the back and set it aside. I die cut a strip of stars from another piece of the Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 and adhered it to a slightly wider strip of Night of Navy. I stamped the ‘YOU’ using the Slim Slayings stamp set, by just inking the word in Evening Evergreen ink and stamping it on a scrap of Very Vanilla . I fussy cut around it, making it a rectangle. I also used Wink of Stella on the letters to give them more importance.

Time to put this card and it’s parts together…

  • card base is Evening Evergreen 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 14
  • Night of Navy 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
  • Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 DSP 4 x 5 14 adhered to Night of Navy panel. Put dimensionals on the back and add to card base.
  • Adhere the ‘Hey There’ ticket with liquid glue
  • Add the die cut flag banner with dimensionals
  • Add the star strip with liquid glue 1/2″ from bottom
  • Cut a length of Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack in Real red and add to the back of the YOU rectangle. Put dimensionals on the back and add just above the star strip
  • Add three Matte Decorative Dots for more notice. (I just realized these dots are retired as of Jan 4, 2022.)So instead… with Blends, color three Pearl Basic Jewels in Dark Poppy Parade, let dry and add them!
  • Card front is done!
Hey Sorts Fan DSP B’day, inside.3

For the inside, I die cut another flag banner from the Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 DSP and adhered it to a Very Vaniila piece 4 x 5 1/4). I stamped the sentiment using the Special Moments stamps set (NEW) making sure to bend it to follow the curve of the flag. This was stamped in Poppy Parade ink. I cut a length of stars from another piece of the Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 and adhered it 1/2: from the bottom, then added the panel to the inside of the card. I added another larger fussy cut star (coated in Crystal Shimmery Effects) to the inside of the card, VOILA! the card is done!

For the envelope…

Hey Sports Fan 12 x 12 DSP.4

The envelope flap got another piece of Hey Sports FAN 12 x 12 DSP. For the front, I stamped the uber cute sentiment in Poppy Parade ink using the Special Moments stamp set ~ and the card was d-o-n-e… I’m hoping our grandson will like this!

And that was it! It’s a fun, cheerful card ~ and I hope he likes it.
