Happy Monday… it’s also Memorial Day, a day in which we give thanks to those who gave their lives for this country, for our freedom to think, to speak, to worship. Many have no idea what that really means ~ the ultimate sacrifice. Let me say, it’s a privilege to be an American citizen. There are incidences that occur that do not make me proud, and yet, we strive to do better, to be better. On this day as we consider the full meaning of Memorial Day, may we strive to be a better citizen, a better member of this country, a better person.
Today’s card is made with several items from the Stampin’ Up family… the Pretty Flowers embossing folder, Pocket Envelope Dies, Tea Boutique 6×6 DSP, Penned Flowers Dies, Go to Greetings stamp set and Opal Rounds. And, there may be one or two other items as well. :O) I love the Tea Boutique 6×6 DSP – so many ideas float through my head. One of the papers I especially like is the one with the cutest little envelopes with flowers sticking out of it. I pulled out the Pocket Envelope Dies and made a cute pocket for a special note inside it. I used the Go To Greetings stamp set to stamp the sentiment for the note in Orchid Oasis ink. Before I get toon far, here’s the completed card.
Pocket Envelope Dies.1
It’s funny how we can see things in a photo we didn’t notice before… for instance, the bow sdhould be straight on the ‘pocket’. Oh well, that cannot be changed now! That cute bow is made with one of the dies in the Envelope Dies. It comes in two pieces and I added the largest of the Opal Rounds on the bow. This is one of ‘hand deliver’ kind of cards as the bow would be crushed in the mail. And that cue bow would be adorable on small gift boxes. Yet, I digress :O)
The card base is Orchid Oasis card stock with a layer of Basic White, then another layer of Orchid Oasis run through the Pretty Flowers EF. You know, there are two sides that can be used with this EF: embossed and what I’ll call de-bossed. One side has more raised impressions and other more outline.
Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder.1
Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder.2
Can you see the difference in the two? I chose to use side 2. And here’s the back side of the ‘pocket’ and where I added Tear ‘n Tape to adhere it to the card front.
Pocket Envelope Dies.2
One thing to notice is side 2 of the DSP, cuz this will show at the top of the pocket. While I added a ‘note’ inside it, it does still show, so just be aware of that when putting your card or something else together. The size of the ‘note’ is about the size of a credit card, if not just a bit longer. I wanted the sentiment on it to show. :O) Orchid Oasis for the note base and a Basic White piece adhered to it after stamping. Nothing else.
For the inside of the card, I wanted to carry out the idea of the envelope on the DSP, filled with flowers. The Pocket Envelope Dies has small leaves, so I die cut several of those in Garden Green. The flowers were die cut from Penned Flowers Dies in both Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis. I used small scraps to adhere to the back side of the flowers contrasting the background. I thought we had an envelope die, maybe in a past set… anyway, I created my own kind of ‘willy nilly’.
Pocket Envelope Dies, inside
Didn’t this turn out sweet? It looks very similar to the ‘envelope bouquet on the DSP! The leaves were all adhered with dabs of liquid glue while many of the flowers have mini dimensionals on the back to create depth – even though it’s the inside of the card. This is probably my favorite part of this card ~ the inside.
OK, the envelope… an embossed piece of Orchid Oasis was added to the flap and a bouquet was stamped in Memento ink on the front, then colored with Fresh freesia and Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Blends. That very sweet bouquet is from Happiness Abounds stamp set.
Here’s a photo of the card, envelope.

Hello Saturday! I have a super easy fun fold today made with the gorgeous Awash In Beautfy DSP and the Teacup Dies.
Easy Fun Fold.1
To make this card…
Cut Card base (Balmy Blue) 5 1/2 x 7 and score on the long side at 4 1/4
Cut another piece of Balmy Blue 4 x 4 & score on one side at 1″. This becomes the fold-over flap
Decorate the card base front: Awash in Beauty DSP cut 2 1/2 x 5 1/4
Fold this area back and decorate it with another panel of Awash in Beauty 2 1/2 x 5 14 (see photo 2)
Easy Fun Fold.2
Cut panel of Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 for inside, stamp in Balmy Blue ink the sentiment from Cup of Tea stamp set. Add ‘fold-over flap with liquid glue, adhering close to the burnished fold line of the 4 x 4 piece, centering it. Add to inside of card.
Decorate fold-over flap:
Awash in Beauty DSP cut 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 adhered to front of flap.
Stamp the flower stems from Cup of Tea stamp set on a Basic White piece approx. 2 x 2 1/4 in Pear pizzazz ink. Die cut with Teacup Dies. Stamp flowers from Cup of Tea stamp set in Merry Merlot ink and die cut with Teacup Dies. Set these aside
Die cut tea cup from another piece of Awash in Beauty (pink)
Die cut decorative pattern for tea cup in Basic White & add to pink tea cup.
Add die cut leaves to fold-over front, then flowers, some on dimensionals some with liquid glue.
Add tea cup on dimensionals
Decorate flowers with Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Add more Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to left front of card and voila! Card is done. :O)
Easy Fun Fold.3
For the envelope, add a 2 1/4 x 6 piece of Awash in Beauty DSP to the flap; stamp the sentiment from Cup of Tea stamp set in Balmy Blue.
Easy Fun Fold.4
Here’s another photo of the card/ envelope with the card held closed.
Easy Fun Fold.5
I do hope you will try this super easy fun fold. You can change the size of the fold-over flap to make it cover more of the card front, but still maintain the 1″ score line to adhere to the Basic White panel. Instead of 4 x 4, make it 4 1/2 x 4 1/2. Let me know how either one works for you. 😀

If you would like to be able to order products early from catalogs AND enjoy that 20% discount,
WooHoo! It is for many a l-o-n-g weekend! Happy Memorial Day celebrations. Thanks you Veterans for your service to our country. We DO appreciate you! I’ve another easy card for you today, creating with the Deckled Rectangles Dies and Designer Series Paper, Awash in Beauty 12 x 12, and the Biggest Wish stamp set.
Biggest Wish w/ Layers.1
This card has many layers and it’s colorful. Polished Pink is one of the In Colors from last year and it is b-r-i-g-h-t! And… it has made, in my opinion, this particular pattern or patterns of DSP really pop.
Begin with a card base of Polished pink. Layer the Basic White panel, then the DSP (Awash in Beauty) that has been die cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Dies. Adhere these together as shown.
Using the 4th largest of the Deckled Rectangles, cut another of the Polished Pink. Layer a panel of Basic White then the final layer of Awash in Beauty, also die cut with the Deckled Rectangles. Adhere all together.
Wrap these layers with 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon in White and secure in back with Stampin’ Seal
Wrap Open Weave Ribbon in Polished Pink directly over the Organdy Ribbon and secure in back with more Stampin’ Seal. Slip a length of the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon under the Organdy and tie a bow on the far left.
Stamp the ‘Hello’ in Mossy Meadow ink from the Biggest Wish stamp set and die cut with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies.
Stamp the ‘friend’ from the same stamp set (love the varied fonts here!) in Polished Pink ink and fussy cut. Put dimensionals on the back of this word and add it to the die cut circle.
Put dimensionals on the back of the die cut circle and add it over the ribbon. For centering, I used the bottom of the word ‘hello’ to line up with the bottom of the ribbon
Add three Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the circle and the front is complete.
True confessions… I have not completed the inside of this card. I simply could not decide what I wanted. I do not have, but am ordering today, the True Beauty Bundle that coordinates with this DSP. When it arrives, I will complete the inside and share it with you. For now, I have used the largest Deckled Rectangles Die to cut an inner layer to decorate. It is, of course in Basic White.
Biggest Wish w/ Layers, inside
For the envelope… more of the Mossy Meadow Awash in Beauty DSP for the flap. For the front of the envelope, I took an edge of the rectangle die cut, trimmed the ends and added it to the bottom. Once that coordinating True Beauty Bundle is here, I will add one of the floral stamps :O)
Biggest Wish w/ Layers.3

And our sketch challenge is this…
And here’s the card I created for the challenge. It uses the Abigail Rose 12 x 12 DSP as the focal point. Don’t you just love this DSP? Gorgeous… I colored the one flower with Stampin’ Blends Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight. For background interest I used the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder on a Basic White panel and added it directly to the Thick Basic White card base. The next two layers are a piece of Early Espresso and the colored Abigail Rose DSP, adhered together then popped on dimensionals and added to the card front. The sentiment panel is stamped in Early Espresso ink on a Basic White scrap, then added to another strip of Calypso Coral adhered to the front on dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Go To Greetings stamp set. Finally, two Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels were colored with the Dark Calypso Coral Blends and added beneath the sentiment.
Abigail Rose.1
For the inside of the card, I stamped one of the smaller flowers from the coordinating Cottage Rose stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a Basic White panel, then colored it with Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends. This was adhered to a slightly larger panel of Early Espresso card stock, then added to the inside of the card. Voila!
Abigail Rose, inside
For the envelope, I used the medium rose from Cottage Rose stamp set and stamped the envelope front – Early Espresso ink of course and three more on the envelope flap. I chose not to color these – don’t ask me why, I don’t know. And that was it. Love the versatility of this layout and this DSP. Just change the sentiment and it could be sympathy, birthday, get well – you name it. It isn’t a masculine card, but change the DSP for that :O)

I’ve been playing with the Abigail Rose 12 x 12 DSP that coordinates with the Cottage Rose bundle (10% off when purchasing the bundle!). The bundle includes the fabulous Cottage Flowers Dies. The dies are delicate and beautiful. This DSP and fun fold were super easy to make – like two cards in one. Here’s a peek.
Double Flap Fun Fold w/ Abigail Rose.1
Here’s what it looks like in various open positions.
Double Flap Fun Fold.2
Double Flap Fun Fold.3
Isn’t this fun? Notice the beautiful floral die cut on the front of the card ~ that’s one of the coordinating dies in the Cottage Rose bundle. And the sentiment on the card front comes from the Charming Sentiment bundle and die cut with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouettes Dies. The flowers were all from the Cottage Rose stamp set and colored with Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends. The DSP on the front is Abigail Rose 12 x 12 and colored as the stamped flowers – with Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends.Early Espresso ink was used for all stamping. The final addition was three Pearl Basic Jewels.
How to:
Prepare the card base (crumb Cake)… 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 2 3/4 & 5 1/2: fold in half & burnish, fold the flap back on itself & burnish
Attach all card cuts to each section:
Basic White – 2 3/8 x 4 1/8 (2); 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
DSP (Abigail Rose) 2 1/2 x 4 (2 coordinating); 4 x 5 14
Create the flap fold of the card
Crumb Cake – 8 1/2 x 3 1/4, score at 4 1/4
Basic White – 3 1/8 x 4 1/8(3) use 2 for stamping and inside of the flap fold
DSP – 3 x 4 (This is the section I colored & is called the front of the flap fold)

Good Monday Morning! We have a glorious morning here today – the temp has dropped about 25 degrees. Yep, it was 88 yesterday, this mornin’ it is 63. Springtime is like that, isn’t it – variable temps.
Today’s card is yet another sympathy card, created using the Whitewash technique. There are two ways to do this: one is to use a water painter and white ink; the other is to use a white watercolor pencil (and sometimes a blender pen. I chose to use the watercolor pencil and no blender pen. I also confess, this is a CASE of a card by Julia Quinn. I changed the colors, sentiment and no ribbon, but the idea comes straight from Julia.
Whitewash Sympathy Card.1
This is a really ‘wow’ color combination, isn’t it? In person, this is absolutely stunning. The card stocks are Orchid Oasis and Fresh Freesia with Starry Sky inking for the stamps. The sparkle comes from the 6×6 In Color Glimmer Paper in Orchid Oasis. This glimmer paper has an ombre effect, light to dark, and that is evident in this die cut. Here’s what I did:
Stamp the image from Nature’s Harvest stamp set in Starry Sky ink on the Orchid Oasis panel.
With the White Watercolor pencil, color the appropriate flower petals.
Mount this panel on a Basic White piece just slightly larger
Die cut the ‘spray’ from the Harvest Dies using Orchid Oasis 6×6 In Color Glimmer Paper. Adhere to stamped panel with dabs of liquid glue, noting where NOT to put adhesive :O)
Put dimensionals on back of panel and adhere to Fresh Freesia card base
Stamp the sentiment from the Nature’s Harvest stamp set in Starry Sky ink onn a Basic White strip and die cut with the banner die in the Harvest Dies. Put dimensionals on the back and add to card front.
Final touch: two (2) Classic Matte Dots in White just under the sentiment panel.
Whitewash Sympathy, inside
I chose to use the same size panels for the inside as the front of the card. It adds to the dramatic effect. On the Basic White panel, stamp the smaller floral image from Nature’s Harvest stamp set in Starry sky ink, twice. Adhere the panel to an Orchid Oasis piece slightly larger and attach to the inside of the card. DONE!
Whitewash Sympathy Card.3
I used the same smaller floral for the envelope front, stamping twice in Starry Sky ink. For the flap, I ran an piece of Orchid Oasis through the Fern 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it, trimming to fit. In keeping with the nature theme of the card, this folder seemed perfect for this. Card stock cuts will be listed at the bottom of this post.

Fresh Freesia card base: 4 14 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
Orchid Oasis: 3 x 4 (front), 3 1/8 x 4 1/8 (inside), 2 1/4 x 6 (flap)
Basic White: 3 1/8 x 4 1/8 (front), 3 x 4 (inside), 1 x 5 (sentiment)
It’s still the weekend… Sunday as a matter of fact. It’s H-O-T here at the Jersey Shore… 88 yesterday & 85 in the house, cuz guess whose AC was broken. Ugh! It’s repaired now, but oh boy. Ok – to the card. It’s a beauty, at least I think so. And when I began making it, it wasn’t for anyone special. By the end of the day – it certainly was! 😞
Happiness Abounds Sympathy.1
The background paper is Waves of the Ocean, a retiring end of June DSP. The flowers were die cut directly from Hues of Happiness DSP with the Blossoming Happiness Dies. I added a bit of Wink of Stella to each rose.
Happiness Abounds Sympathy.2
Happiness Abounds Sympathy.3
Hopefully you can see the sparkle in the above two photos. I added Wink of Stella to the shaded areas only. The sentiment in the center panel comes from Inspired Thoughts stamp set. It was stamped in memento ink. I die cut the flowers for this panel, then trimmed them to use as edging pieces. I really like that added touch.
The card base is Petal Pink with a Basic White layer for many of the panels, then the Waves of the Ocean DSP. I wanted to use this particular DSP for several reasons. First it’s beautiful paper, it coordinates beautifully with the roses and I wanted to use it :O) How’s that?
A Gatefold card is really easy to do, It’s a matter of scoring the card base, then adding the layers, then the ‘gate’ panels. It’s important the ‘gate’ panels are not so wide they make it difficult to close the card. I remember my first gatefold card from a few years back… hard to open ‘cuz the ‘gates’ were too wide they kept running into each other opening or closing the card. So, look at the first photo again and notice how there is spacing between the panels. Another tip is to add the top & bottom ‘gates’ first, then the center ‘gate’ last. And you will notice, the top & bottom ‘gates’ are attached on the left fold, the center ‘gate’ is attached to the right fold. Just wanted to point that out. Let’s take a peek at the inside.
Happiness Abounds Sympathy.4
The flower on the Basic White center panel is a die cut adhered with liquid glue – and yes, it has Wink of Stella on it too. The side panels only have the DSP, not the Basic White layer. I didn’t want the added bulk. And finally the envelope… more Waves of the Ocean DSP on the flap and a stamped in Memento ink rose from Happiness Abounds Stamp set. I chose to color it with the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and Granny Apple Green for the stem. No Wink of Stella on this rose, but you certainly could. I’ll list the card cuts at the end of this post.
Happiness Abounds Sympathy.5
I really like how this card turned out, and because I know to whom I’m sending it, that makes it more special. If you have any questions about making this, just give me a shout, reply to this post. As I said, measurements will be at the end of this post.

Hello and happy Friday! We have had cool, rainy weather lately and this weekend is to be 93 degrees! WOW… hard to believe the contrast min temps. Whatever your plans are this weekend, just be safe while you’re having fun. My card today uses the Blossoming Happiness Dies for the background and I used the Medium Daisy Punch for the flower. This was the first I used these Dies and I’m hooked – love this background die! Here’s the card…
Happiness Abounds Friend.1
The Tea Boutique 6×6 DSP has some beautiful papers in it. I decided to use the ‘back side’ for the daisy using the Fresh Fresia design and the Daffodil Delight design for the crosswise banner. I think it pulls everything together. For the center of the flower, I used a die from the Poppy Moments Dies, then popped a Glossy Dots Assortment in the Daffodil Delight for the flower center and two other dots. Here’s the step by step…
Die cut the background with the largest of the dies in Blossoming Happiness Dies – moving the die so it cut in two places, on a piece of Basic White card stock. This was mounted on a Thick Basic White card base.
Punch three daisies from Tea Boutique 6×6 in Fresh Fresia. Adhere together with liquid glue. Die cut a center for the flower using another piece of the Tea Boutique 6×6 but in Daffodil Delight, using the Poppy Moments Dies. Add to the flower with a mini dimensional. Add a Glossy Dots Assortment in Daffodil Delight to the Daisy.
Cut a strip of the Tea Boutique 6×6 DSP in Daffodil Delight 3/4″ x about 4 and cut an angle at one end. For contrast add a length of Starry Sky about 5/8″ x 3″ and add to the back of the DSP with liquid glue. Add dimensionals to the back and add to the card front. Add the daisy with liquid glue.
Stamp the word ‘friend’ in Starry Sky ink using the Happiness Bounds stamp set. Card front done!
Happiness Abounds Friend, inside
For the inside of the card… Stamp the very sweet bouquet in Memento ink. With Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, color the flowers. Add the bow with 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine in Starry Sky with a glue dot. Of course this was on a Basic White panel. Adhere to the inside and bingo… card done!
Happiness Abounds Friend.3
For the envelope.. add more of the Tea Boutique 6×6 DSP to the envelope flap, same as the front of the card. Stamp the same cute bouquet to the envelope front in Memento ink and color the flowers with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
This is such a lovely feminine card and I really, really like it ~ hope you do as well.

Happy Thursday! It’s almost the weekend… do you have something fun planned? Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you have come from Tara’s fun creation, welcome to the hop here at my blog. There will be lots of variety today, I betcha!
It’s the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop… with a challenge, of course…
And here’s what I did…
Let’s Set Sail Scene.1
I began with a piece of Hues of Happiness 12 x 12 DSP, a blending Brush or two and several ink colors to create a brilliant sun: Whisper White, Mango Melody, Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze. I also some sticky notes so as I created the gradient, I was keeping kind of a line as I varied the colors. I really like how these just flow together. Once I got it sort of the way I wanted it, I removed the sticky notes and with Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral, went over the entire area to remove distinguishing lines. I then die cut two circles using the Stylish Shapes Dies. Next I took the long stamp in Let’s Set Sail stamp set and Balmy Blue ink and began creating a water layer on a panel of Basic White. These were the beginning steps for my scene. I adhered the largest circle with liquid glue to this Basic White panel, then put dimensionals on the smaller circle and layered it on top, matching the lines created when using the sticky notes and Blending Brush. I wanted some sparkle, so pulled out the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper in Tahitian Tide and with the Sailboat Builder Punch, punched a sailboat. I placed the various pieces of the sailboat then added mini dimensionals in all the right places and dabs of liquid glue in others and put it in place. I stamped the water shadow just beneath the boat in Pacific Point ink. The birds were stamped with Memento ink. The sentiment also comes from Let’s Set sail stamp set and it was stamped in Balmy Blue and fussy cut. I put dimensionals on the back and adhered it to the card. I then colored two Rhinestone Basic Jewels with Dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends and put them in place – card front was ready to put together.
I adhered the completed front to a piece of Balmy Blue just slightly larger, put dimensionals on the back and added it to a Thick Basic White card base. Front done!
Let’s Set Sail Scene, inside
For the inside I cut two very thin strips: one from the paper I had colored to create the suns and another from the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer paper in Tahitian Tide. These were adhered with liquid glue to the Basic White panel. I then stamped the sentiment – yep! – Let’s Set Sail stamp set, in Balmy Blue ink. This panel was adhered to another piece of Balmy Blue card stock then added to the inside of the card. This card is perfect for so many occasions: graduation, Father’s Day, promotion, retirement, etc.
Let’s Set Sail Scene.3
For the envelope, I took another part of the Hues of Happiness 12 x 12 DSP and added it to the flap, trimmed to fit. For the front, I stamped the water in stamped-off Balmy Blue ink then stamped the boat/ mast in Pacific Point ink and the two sails in Pale Papaya ink. All done! What do you think? Does the envelope look a bit like a scene in itself? I think so :O)
