Good Monday to you. Sympathy cards are so very difficult and yet, necessary. Have I said that before? I tend to make sympathy cards for a specific person – and maybe that’s why it’s hard for me. I’m remembering the person who passed and get focused on the memories. So I struggle a bit. This card is in memory of a special woman, one who battled Lewey Body Dementia for six very long years. She and her husband have been so amazingly strong. And now her battle is over and she is at peace.

I’m using some new products from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog:the Something Fancy stamp set and coordinating Something Fancy Dies. Notice how Stampin’ Up! is now using same names for coordinating stamp sets & dies?! YAY, YAY! Thank you Stampin’ Up! Here is the stamp set & coordinating dies. I’m excited to have some wonderful banner/ sentiment dies.

The DSP is Fitting Florets 12×12 DSP – available right now. It coordinates with the Framed Florets bundle – the Fitting Florets Collection. Let me tell you how to make this beautiful card.

Begin with a standard 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 card base and score on the long side 1″ and 4 1/4″. Fold back the 1″ area on itself. Decorate panels… I used the Fitting Florets DSP and also used the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder in two areas. The front embossed piece is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. After embossing, it was adhered to a larger panel 2 3/4 x 3 3/4. I used one of the dies in the Framed Florets Dies to trim out a flower from the Fitting Florets 12×12 DSP. I stamped the sentiment from Something Fancy stamp set and die cut it with one of the dies in the Something Fancy Dies. I adhered the die cut floral bouquet to the front of this sentiment banner, put dimensionals on the back of both and attached it to the rectangle. The rectangle was adhered to the 1″ panel, centering in top to bottom. Really like this Quatrefoil EF as a backdrop for the sentiment & floral bouquet.

For the inside on the left, a panel of the Fitting Florets 12×12 DSP. On the right a 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strip embossed with the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder adhered to the far right edge. I then stamped the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stamp set in Night of Navy ink. I added Adhesive-Backed Swirls~ and the card was done. I really like how this card turned out: beautiful for a beautiful woman.

Now, I promised a money holder so here ’tis. Along with wrapped gifts, we have been in the habit of giving a check to our adult children and their spouses. And having that in an attractive holder makes it all the more special – and it’s fun to individualize. The one I’m sharing today is generic and they are so simple to make!

I’ve used Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 DSP to decorate the Sweet Sorbet Card stock, the Very Best Trio Punch to create the edges for the top, Sweet Candy Canes stamp set & it’s coordinating Candy Cane Dies to decorate the tag. And the tag itself was punched with the Lasting Label Punch.

The base is 6 3/4 x 7 1/8, scored on the short side at 2″ (to create the top) and 5″ (to create the bottom). I used the Very Best Trio Punch to create the decorative edges on the top. Burnish the score lines. The Sweetest Christmas DSP is cut to fit the upper & lower front panels: 1 3/4 x 6 7/8 for the top panel; 1 1/4 x 6 7/8 for the bottom panel. Remember to punch the top panel only on the two corners to match the front of the Money Envelope Holder. Add Tear n’ Tape to the inside of the lower panel, and adhere.

Now create the belly band: cut card stock 1 x 7; wrap around the money holder back to front and adhere ends together. Decorate as desired. For this particular band, I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink on a Basic White piece approximately 2 x 3, then punched it with the Lasting Label Punch. The sentiment comes from Sweet Candy Canes stamp set. I stamped the leaves in Garden Green ink and die cut them with the Candy Canes Dies. They were adhered with liquid glue. I then cut a Sweet Sorbet panel slightly larger than the punch white piece and adhered the two together. Adhere this to the belly band… remember to put adhesive on the belly band then attaching the decorated piece to it. Slide over the money holder & voila – all done. 😀

Stampin’ Up! Decorated with Happiness Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome, welcome ~ to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday blog Hop! We have a color challenge today that’s really fun – see below – and some fabulous crafters. If you came from the talented Tara, so happy to have you stop by.

I have to share a funny… I created a card yesterday and took photos, the day continued. I started putting this hop stuff together and realized I had THE WRONG COLOR CHALLENGE! I was dumbfounded… yep – that card you will see in December :O) Today’s final card is made with the Decorated with Happiness stamp set & coordinating Decorated Pine Dies. I love the pine fronds AND the ornaments – so fun. I’ve used Red & White 6×6 Glimmer paper; 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper in Sweet Sorbet; Pool Party card stock to die cut the ornaments & hangers – all using the Decorated with Pine Dies. The card base is Sweet Sorbet and the white layer is White Glimmer Paper from the Red & White 6×6 Glimmer pack :O) The pine boughs are die cut with the with Garden Green card stock. To create the snow I used the Snowfall Accent Puff Paint & my Heat Tool.

Stampin' Up Decorated Pine Dies.Inkin' hop.11/17

The sentiment was stamped on a Basic White scrap with Sweet Sorbet ink using the Decorated with Happiness stamp set. I fussy cut it and attached it with dimensionals.

For the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment on a Basic White panel in Sweet Sorbet ink using the Decorated with Happiness stamp set. I stamped the ornaments in Pool Party ink using the same stamp set. The panel was added to the inside of the Sweet Sorbet card base.

For the envelope I stamped the same ornament as used on the inside of the card from Decorated with Happiness stamp set in Pool Party ink, then added the pine fronds in Garden Green ink. The flap is covered in Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 DSP. And the card et all was complete! YAY…

Stampin’ Up! Convention 2022

Just attended the IN-PERSON Stampin’ Up! Convention in Jacksonville FL. What fun… several team mates were there so we chatted, created and watched presenters. Here are some fun photos.

The photo above is the logo on the stage. The photo on right is our table. Behind the ‘screen’ is the ‘make & take’ we opened later & created. But we were’t allowed to open the boxes at this time. I’ll have photos of that later 😁

And here’s what we were given in our gift box. The stamp set on the left is from the Sale-a-bration catalog. The stamp set on the right is in the Jan- April 2023 Mini Catalog. and is a background stamp that will also be extra fun. The spiral notebook is awesome for taking notes now or… later and there’s a pretty pen to go with it :O). There are a few pins that folks like to attach to their clothes – or trade. AND – there’s a green cross body bag as well.

Stampin’ Up! Fitting Florets Collection, Birthday Fun Fold

It’s Friday and I’m off to a Stampin’ Up! Convention ~ headed to Jacksonville, FL. Yes, it should be raining but it may clear by mid day 😀 I’m taking a rain coat… Today’s card uses many of the items in the Fitting Florets Collection: Framed Florets and the coordinating Framed Florets Dies (notice how Stampin’ Up! ‘heard’ our pleas to use same titles for coordinating dies!), the Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls and the absolutely lovely Fitting Florets DSP. And ~ this is a fun fold.

This Fitting Florets DSP is simply gorgeous! And I especially love this particular pattern. I hated covering it with the beautiful Framed Florets Dies, but alas, it was necessary. I wanted to show off these beautiful framing dies. After die cutting in Basic White, this becomes two pieces – the center oval and the outside elaborate frame. I stamped the center oval with a sentiment from the Framed Florets in Evening Evergreen ink; adhered the outside frame to the DSP, centering it. I put dimensionals on the center oval and added it to the framed outline. I added the very pretty (and flat) Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls to highlight the sentiment. I debated and debated about adding more of the die cuts available, but I really liked the simplicity of this. The DSP was adhered to Balmy Blue card stock then to the Night of Navy A2 card front.

For the inside, I took another piece of the Fitting Florets DSP and adhered it to the left side. I stamped the small leaf image and the berry ‘spray’ in Evening Evergreen ink and colored with Soft Succulent Blends for the leaves and Balmy Blue Blends for the ‘berries’. I also stamped the sentiment from the Fitting Florets stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink.

Next I created the ‘fun fold’ portion – and here’s how… cut a panel of Night of Navy card stock 4 3/4 x 8 and score at 2, 4, and 6.
Burnish well. Mark 2″ from the bottom on the right side. Trim from the top left corner to the 2″ mark on the right corner. Adhere panels from the Fitting Florets DSP cut at 1 7/8″. To get the correct angle on the DSP, prior to adhering…cut the panels 1 7/8 x 4 3/4 then lay down on table with the Night of Navy piece on top of it. With a ruler, mark the angle on the DSP. Trim 1/8″ off each bottom strip. Lay on top of card stock to see if any more trimming needs to be done, then adhere in place. This is called an Accordion Fun Fold.

Add far left panel to left side of inside of card, centering. I wanted my fun fold section to line up on the bottom with the DSP & Basic White panels. Adhere right section of the fold to the right inside panel. Here’s what it should look like looking down from the top.

Now decorate the rest of the inside to your desire. Here’s what I did… stamp the two smaller flowers on a Basic White scrap in Evening Evergreen ink using the Framed Florets stamp set. Color both with Stamp’ Blends in Soft Succulent; die cut with Framed Florets Dies. Die cut a small leaf from Gold Foil Sheets (I used a scrap. Adhere each with liquid glue as shown.

For the envelope… more of the same Fitting Florets DSP adhered to the envelope flap & trimmed to fit. I then stamped the larger of the two small flowers in Evening Evergreen ink and this time colored them with Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends. It matches the flowers in the DSP! I then stamped the leaves in Evening Evergrren ink and colored with Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends. They too, match the DSP 😊

Stampin' Up! Hope & Peace + DSP, Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop 11/10

My card pretty much follows the sketch, don’t you think? This particular piece of DSP is from Painted Christmas DSP and I love the softness of this background. I layered this panel on a Basic White piece and adhered it to the Garden Green card base with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink using the Hope & Peace stamp set from the Jul-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog. It was stamped on Basic White and die cut it with the Stylish Shapes Dies. I had another scrap of the Painted Christmas DSP and cut it to 3/4″ x 2 12. I put this in place on the card front then added the stamped circle die cut over it using dimensionals. For a bit of added color and glam I added the Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins. All the half dimensionals used on the back of the circle hold both the circle & the strip in place 😏

For the inside… I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink on the Basic White inside panel. I pulled out the Merriest Moments stamp set which is a carry-over and stamped the holly leaves in Garden Green ink.I added more of the Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins in Sweet Sorbet and really like the added touch.

For the envelope, more of the same Painted Christmas DSP on the envelope flap. For the front of the envelope I stamped the holly leaves from Merriest Moments stamp set in Garden Green ink, then stamped the berries from the same stamp set in Sweet Sorbet ink ~ and the card/ envelope was done!
