Today’s card features the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Poppies DSP and several coordinating products: Peaceful Poppies Elements, Poppy Moments Dies, the Peaceful Moments stamp set AND the Painted Poppies stamp set – all in one card! So fun… here it is…

Peaceful Poppies Peek-a-boo Card

And here’s how to make it…

  • Whisper White Thick card stock for the card base 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
  • Peaceful Poppies DSP 4″ x 5 1/4″. Adhere to the card front with liquid glue.
  • Using the second largest circle in the Layering Circles Dies, cut a circle about 3/4″ from the top and centered right to left.
  • Cut another circle out of coordinating Peaceful Poppies DSP using the same circle die.
  • Using the largest Stitched Shapes Dies circle, cut a circle from Rich Razzleberry.
  • Adhere the coordinating DSP circle to the Rich Razzleberry circle with dimensionals.
  • Place the circle on the inside without glue. Locate the correct placement for this circle set by closing the card front over it, carefully lifting the card front while still holding the double circle in place. Make very small pencil marks on the outside of the double circle to use as a guideline for adhering. Attach this to the card inside with liquid glue. Erase pencil marks if they show.

That was the hard part! Now the rest is easy… Back to the card front…

  • With your Peaceful Poppies Elements at hand, remove the double poppy and three leaves from the vellum. I arranged these as desired and felt something more was needed.
  • Diecut the leaves from vellum using the Poppy Moments Dies
  • The double poppy elements were put on dimensionals, but before adhering, the vellum leaves were adhered with glue dots,. making certain those glue dots would be covered by the double poppy element. Attach the double poppy.
  • Stamp your sentiment using the Painted Poppies stamp set with Memento Black ink.

The inside…

  • Because the circle is already in place, all you need is your sentiment. I found these two from the Well Said stamp set, stamped in Memento Black ink.

The envelope…

  • Using liquid glue, adhere a 2 1/4″ x 6″ strip of the coordinating DSP to the envelope flap and trim.
  • On the card front, stamp the leaves from the Painted Poppies stamp set with Memento Black ink.
  • Color the leaves with Old Olive marker and the stem with Granny Apple Green marker. TIP… when coloring anything, leave a bit of white showing. It gives the leaf (or whatever the stamp is) a bit of reality and depth.

Your card is complete and ready to send… this one is going to a fellow stamper who has just achieved a goal. Hope she likes it!

Stampin’ Up! So Very Vellum Pocket Card

Today’s card is made with a FREE product during Sale=a=bration and that is Stampin’ Up! So Very Vellum. I haven’t made a pocket card before and it was surprisingly easy. I kept the inside very simple. Let’s take a look…

So Very Vellum & Happy Birthday To You plus Thoughtful Blooms

It’s interesting how the process happens when making a card. I started out with one idea and went totally another! I knew I wanted to make a pocket card and I knew I wanted to use vellum e as the pocket. And the So Very Vellum with its embossed pattern seemed perfect. Here’s how the vellum looked before putting it together.

  • So Very Vellum 8″ x 5 1/2″ Funny thing is, I started with a piece cut to 8 1/2″ but was using the paper trimmer to score it and scored too hard and tore the paper.😔 First lesson… So I moved to the scoring tool and was much more gentle and it worked perfectly.
  • Score on the long side 1/2″ and trim. See the photo for how to trim.
  • Score on the short side 1/2″ and again at 3 3/4″. Trim the 1/2″ side
  • Add tear n tape to the 1/2″ edges – see photo. Remove the short side of tape and close, then do the same with the bottom, as it goes on the outside. This becomes the BACK of the pocket!
  • Decorate as desired… Because I was thinking of doing something else, I began by stamping four partials of the Happy Birthday To You cake on Shimmer paper.

You can see that I colored each of the flowers on the cakes using different shades of yellows and greens. It was fun to see the contrasts side by side. Then I cut them all out using the Birthday Dies. By this time I had changed my direction for completing this particular card, but am ready with the extra pieces for another project – yay! If you are looking at the photo of the colored florals, I chose #3 to decorate the pocket.

  • I colored the flowers on #3 with Dark Daffodil Delight and Light So Saffron Stampin’ Blends, the leaves with Dark Soft Sea Foam Blends. I used the Color Lifter in places to highlight areas.
  • Using the Birthday Dies again, I cut out leaves twice and the berries also twice. The leaves are cut from Garden Green and the berries from Shimmer paper.
  • These leaves and berries were adhered to the back of the floral diecut using glue dots, but you could swipe snail on the back and use that just as well. I then attached dimensionals over several areas of the back further holding these small pieces in place.
  • The floral section was adhered to a Whisper White circle diecut with the Layering Circles Dies.
  • The circle also got dimensionals and was adhered to the vellum pocket.

Now to the inside…

Thoughtful Blooms pocket card insert

  • Cut mint macaron 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • Cut Soft Sea Foam 3 3/8″ x 5 3/8″
  • Stamp the Thoughtful Blooms leaf spray with Garden Green ink
  • Stamp the flower with Daffodil Delight and punch out with the Small Bloom Punch
  • Stamp additional small flowers using both Daffodil Delight and So Saffron for a nice contrast.
  • Adhere the punched flower to the center of the leaf spray using one dimensional

Envelope… we never ever forget to do something with the envelope. I must say, I got a bit carried away but I like the finished product.

  • Stamp the leaf spray with Garden Green; the flowers with Daffodil Delight and So Saffron, according to your choice.

So Very Vellum & Happy Birthday To You plus Thoughtful Blooms

  • I did the same on the envelope flap, stamping three bouquets.

Your card, pocket and envelope are now complete! Isn’t it sweet? I really like how it turned out even though I had something else in mind altogether… Another day 😏

Stampin’ Up! Watercolored Happy Birthday To You, Birthday Dies

Today’s card features the Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday To You stamp set and matching Birthday Dies available during Sale-a-bration. This set is so versatile: birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, or using the flower, leaf and berry dies on their own to create a wreath – the ideas abound! Let’s see…

Happy Birthday To You #1

This card has such visual appeal in person… all the layers make it pop. And here’s how I did it…

  • On Shimmer Paper, stamp the cake image twice with Stazon Jet Black ink. The second image really only needs to be the flowers as that will be diecut.
  • With your aqua painter and Flirty Flamingo, color the flower petals on both stamped images. Why you ask? Because you do not want a blank image behind the flowers. 
  • With your aqua painter, color the leaves first with Mint Macaron, then darken areas with Garden Green.
  • Go ahead and color the cake stand at this point, with the rim being the darker portion. Do you remember our mothers or grandmothers green glass (also pink glass)? That’s what this cake stand reminds me.
  • Using your aqua painter color the berries with Poppy Parade. Here’s what it looks like before putting the images together.

Happy Birthday To You watercolor first, then the additional flowers.

Now it is time to diecut your various pieces.

  • Diecut the full cake first then your additional flowers.
  • While you’re at it, diecut the leaf image twice out of Garden Green.
  • Diecut the berries twice out of Shimmer paper.
  • Diecut the second largest circle from the Layering Circles framelits, out of vellum.

Layer your pieces. This is a matter of preference in placement. I used not only glue dots, but also snail and dimensionals. Some pieces went behind the vellum and some went on top of the vellum but behind the cake. Here’s how I put it together…

  • Vellum on dimensionals
  • Cake on dimensionals
  • Flowers on dimensionals

Paper layers:

  • Card base is Soft Sea Foam 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Mint Macaron 4 1/8″ x 5 1/4″
  • Garden Lane DSP 3 7/8″x 5″
  • Final layer is the vellum, cake and diecuts.

The inside is super simple and easy…

Happy Birthday To You, inside

  • Stamp the sentiment from Happy Birthday To You in Stazon Jet Black ink on a Whisper White 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • With glue dots add the remainder of the berry and leaf diecuts. I put a glue dot under the berry diecut, then under two of the Garden Green leaves, tucked the stem of the leaves under the berries and covered the glue dot under the berrries.
  • Adhere the Whisper White to the card base using liquid glue.

Remember your envelope…

  • Find a coordinating piece of Garden Lane DSP 2 1/4″ x 6″, adhere to the envelope flap with liquid glue and trim.
  • Stamp the envelope front in Garden Green ink.

YAY! Your card is complete and ready to send to a favorite person. This one is going to a S-I-L whose birthday is right around the corner.

Stampin’ Up! Good Morning Magnolia

Today’s card is made with the amazing Stampin’ Up! Good Morning Magnolia stamp set from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue. This stamp set has additional options … first there are the two stamp sets, then matching dies and finally an embossing folder. Today we use just the one stamp set and the embossing folder. The card is elegant and depending on the sentiment used, could be for many purposes. This is a thank you card, for I’m grateful for a lot, and during this time especially it seems appropriate to give thanks. Let take a look…

And here are the details on how to make it:

  • Smokey Slate card stock 4 1/4″ x 11″
  • Night of Navy 4″ x 5 1/4″ (cut 2, one for the inside)
  • Silver Foil 4 1/8″ x5 1/8″, 2 7/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • Whisper White 3 7/9″ x 5 1/8″ (for the inside)

 

  • With your embossing buddy, rub one panel of the Night of Navy,. With Versamark ink, stamp the large flower from Good Morning Magnolia, sprinkle with silver embossing powder and heat set. Make certain all is glistening silver before setting aside to cool.

Let’s create the inside at this point and come back to the front later.

  • Adhere the second panel of Night of Navy to the inside, using liquid glue.
  • With your Whisper White cs, stamp the sentiment and leaves with Night of Navy ink. Adhere this panel to the inside Night of Navy.

Now back to the front..

  • With the Stitched Rectangles, cut the center of that magnificent magnolia.
  • Adhere the larger section of the magnolia to the larger silver foil using snail.
  • Adhere the smaller piece to the smaller Silver Foil with snail. Add dimensionals to this piece and adhere to the larger magnolia, matching all of the floral design.
  • TIP…Adhering  to foil with liquid glue is slippery and the paper often moves. I strongly encourage using snail or dimensionals when adhering to foil papers.

The envelope…

  • Cut a piece of Night of Navy 2 1/4″ x 6″, spritz with water to soften the paper fibers and run through the Magnolia Lane 3D embossing folder.
  • Adhere to the envelope flap with liquid glue and trim.
  • Stamp the leaf in the lower left corner of the envelope front with Night of Navy ink. (I might have taken my picture a bit early and didn’t capture this, but I did do it!)

Stampin’ Up! Good Morning Magnolia

Today’s card uses the Stampin’ Up! Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, heat embossing and sponge daubers. I’ve created this as a birthday card, but it could so easily be sympathy, wedding, anniversary, or just a note. It is soft and it is feminine. Let’s look….

Good Morning Magnolia #1

Here are the details:

  • Thick Whisper White card stock 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″, another piece 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ for the card front.
  • Rub the smaller cs with your embossing buddy, making certain to cover the entire area.
  • Using Versamark ink, stamp the Good Morning Magnolia stamp on the right hand corner, stamping as much of the magnolia as you desire. Ink a portion of the stamp again and stamp in the upper left corner.
  • Sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat emboss. Set aside to cool.
  • On a scrap, of vellum, rub with your embossing buddy and with Versamark ink stamp the flower bud. Sprinkle with white embossing powder then heat emboss until all the powder has melted. Set aside to cool. Once cool, use the Magnolia Memory Dies to cut out the flower bud.
  • On another scrap of vellum approximately 1/2″ x 3″, rub with the embossing buddy, ink your sentiment and stamp. Sprinkle with the white embossing powder and heat emboss until all powder has melted. Set aside to cool.
  • Using Blushing Bride and sponge daubers, lightly rub the color exactly where you want it. I made it darker in the center and lighter toward the outside. For the leaves, do exactly the same with Old Olive ink. Do the same on the vellum flower bud but color on the backside of the vellum.
  • Attach the flower bud with a mini dimensional at the base of the bud.
  • Attach the vellum sentiment in the same spot using a glue dot. I used a second glue dot, placing it just under the word happy, so it wouldn’t show through.
  • Now you are ready to adhere this directly to your card base, using liquid glue or snail.

For the inside… I’ve kept this very simple.

  • Choose your sentiment… this is from the Timeless Tulip stamp set (available during Sale-a-bration), and using Stazon Jet Black ink..

Today’s cards feature the Stampin’ Up! Best Dressed 6×6 Designer Series Paper and the Painted Labels Dies. The focus points right to this fun DSP. This would be an easy card to mass produce, which really isn’t my thing, but it could be done. Let’s take a look…

These are so fresh and bright! I’ve put no sentiment that designates whether this is birthday or get well or hello to a special someone. That can be added right before sending. But this card as is… well it’s just plain cute! Here are the deets:

For the card front…

  • Thick Whisper White for the card base, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Old Olive 4″ x 5 1/4″ (cut 2, one for the inside)
  • Best Dressed 6 x 6 Designer Series paper 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ + coordinating sing the scrap about 3 1/4″ square
  • Whisper White for the diecuts about 3 1/4″ square

How to put it together…

  • adhere the DSP to the Old Olive using liquid glue or snail
  • Put on dimensionals and adhere to the card base.
  • Using the coordinating scrap, cut a circle using the largest circle die from the Circle Dies
  • Using the Whisper White 3 1/4″ scrap, cut the wonderful open circle from the Painted Labels Dies.
  • Stamp your sentiment using Old Olive ink. This sentiment comes from the Under My Umbrella stamp set.
  • Adhere this stamped piece to the circle using liquid glue or snail. Put on dimensionals and adhere to the front, noting placement for each card.

Notes…

  • Card #1: Stamp three flowers from the … blooms stamp set and punch out using the Small Bloom Punch. Embellish with Noble Peacock Rhinestones. Put two of these of dimensionals and place accordingly. The other gets adhered using liquid glue and tucked under one of the flowers.
  • This card also got a fun ribbon… Granny Apple Green 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon. Adhere with a glue dot.
  • Card #2: A couple of differences on this card. First..I used a scrap of Whisper White 5/8″ Ribbon scrap to put behind the circles, adhering it with a bit of snail directly onto the ribbon.
  • Second…since the Painted Labels diecut was used on the DSP, use another Whisper White scrap to cut a circle that will be large enough for your sentiment but small enough to show off a bit of the DSP. Adhere that circle (after stamping of course) with liquid glue to the DSP cut. Embellish with Glitter Enamel Dots to coordinate with the card front. Adhere with dimensionals over the ribbon.

The insides:

  • Best Dressed card #2 inside

  • Adhere the additional piece of Old Olive to the inside.
  • Adhere a 1/2″ strip to the lower potion of the card (about 1/4″ from the bottom.
  • For card #1 I added an additional flower cut by using the Small Bloom Punch. It also got a Noble Peacock Rhinestone. Do you notice the variegation in the color of paper? I used my Old Olive light and dark Blends to color a section of Whisper White card Stock and simply punched out the flower. :O)

Remember to do your envelopes! Note that Card #1 flap has an additional 1/4″ piece of Old Olive in addition to the DSP. Card #2 is just the DSP.

Below are two more cards I created in the same way, just using different papers in the stack and coordinating the card stock to match.

  • Card #3 uses Mint Macaron card stock, Mint Macaron  1/4″ Ribbon and the Glitter Enamel Dots
  • Card #4 uses Purple Posy card stock, Polka Dot Tulle 5/8″ Ribbon and Glitter enamel Dots. TIP: The Polka Dot Tulle ties beautifully but for me, is difficult to make a bow. How did I fix that? I tied it as a bow then trimmed the the bow part so it looks like just two ribbon pieces together.

Stampin’ Up! Flowering Foils Gift Set

Today’s project features the incredible Flowering Foils Specialty DSP that is a free Sale-a bration item when purchasing $50 worth of product, and some of our alcohol Stampin’ Up! Blends. Let’s take a look…

Coloring on this paper is so relaxing – really a cathartic for me – not that I’m stressed or anything. It simply just really get’s me going… I took one sheet of the foils and broadly cut out all the flowers. Then I sorted them putting them is piles of like flowers. That’s when I could start the coloring process, and I colored maybe four of them, then began trimming, so I could raise up some of the petals. The card has three layers on top of the card base. Here’s more detail…

  • Thick Whisper White for the card base 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″; 3 5/8″ x 5 1/8″ for the inside
  • Lovely Lipstick 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ – cut 2, one is for the inside
  • Flowering Foils SDSP 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ for the front; 1/8″ x 5 1/8″ for the inside.

 

  • Color the flower using Light and Dark Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Up! Blends. Begin with the dark, coloring only one or two petals, then going back with the light to fill in. Complete the flower then go back and use the Color Lifter Blend to lighten areas that you think need it. This is where it really begins to look almost real 🙂 Curl the edges of the. petals using a bone folder.
  • Next do the leaves in Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Up! Blends. I didn’t use much color lifter on these, but did some.
  • Finally I colored the flower buds with the same Lovely Lipstick combination of blends.
  • Now do the trimming and layering process to your satisfaction. I colored some of those flowers that were on edges of the paper so they became the top layers of the flowers. Adhere the layers with dimensionals so it truly becomes a three dimensional project. The top flower needs the center colored and I used Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Blends for that. Keep curling the edges of the flower petals to get that “real” look.
  • I finally added Wink of Stella on the top couple of layers. I like the sparkle!
  • Add the bow: Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon and adhere with a glue dot.

The inside…,

  • Super simple: adhere the additional Whisper White panel to the extra Lovely Lipstick.
  • Add the colored 1/8″ strip of the SDSP to the left of the Whisper White.
  • Adhere the Lovely Lipstick to the inside… Card is complete!

The gift bag follows the exact instruction from Sunn Stampin’ – I encourage you to watch her video on this. I simply used a different Flowering Foils SDSP to create the bag, then I decorated it.

 

  • Lovely Lipstick 2 1/2″ x 11 1/2″, gently creased around the finished bag, then score those creases, adhere tear n’ tape to the ends and wrap around and attach to the bag.
  • The flower was a double flower from the SDSP and I colored it the same as above. Then I used another layer on the bottom flower, trimming the petals apart a bit while still keeping them intact.
  • The lower flower has a Perennial Essence Floral Centers for the inner portion. I considered using another for the upper flower, but it was too much. Curl the edges of the petals using your bone folder, but be very gentle – you don’t want to pull the petals off.
  • Adhere a Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon and bingo -done.

For now – continue crafting… what else are you going to do during the time of “self containment”? Who really wants to clean out the garage, the attic or a closet? Well, not me! But I will say that yesterday hubby and I began tackling the garage, for that is our storage area for all things. Yes, we get our cars in the garage… but it’s cramped and a bit scary. So that’s been rather a freeing project if I do say so myself. I have some items to shred, but thank goodness our sanitation workers are still on the job and our recycling goes out today. Lots of old papers that don’t need keeping any more are part of that pickup.

Stampin’ Ip! Ornate Garden Specialty DSP, Ornate Borders Dies

Todays Card is a fun use of the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Specialty DSP and the Ornate Borders Dies. It’s a panel card, at least that’s what I’m calling it, meaning it doesn’t open 🙂 It simply has a panel that fits inside the folded DSP. Let’s take a look….

This Ornate Garden Specialty DSP is so sweet and I wanted to emphasize this particular pattern for as much of the card as possible. This is what I did…

  • Mint Macaron card base cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″; also cut 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ for the inside panel
  • Ornate Garden SDSP cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″; another with same dimension but score this at 4″
  • Adhere the 4 “x 5 1/4” SDSP to the card base using liquid glue
  • Cut a panel 1/2″ x 4″ from Gold foil. Using a die from the Ornate Borders Dies, run it through your embossing/ diecut machine. Adhere this diecut to the fold-over piece of SDSP. Cut about a 20″ length of Mint Macaron 1/4″ ribbon, run over it with your snail adhesive and adhere evenly around the back and front, covering slightly where the Gold Foil diecut was attached.Tie a bow. TIP: use your grid paper to make certain the ribbon is attached evenly. 
  • Using tear ‘n tape, adhere to the sides and bottom of this panel and attach to the card base.
  • Cut three flowers from Gold Foil scrap using the Ornate Border Dies. Adhere Glitter Enamel Dots to the center of each flower. Put on dimensionals and attach accordingly.

Now for the inside…

  • Whisper White cut to 2 is 7/8″ x 4 1/4″. Stamp your sentiment (I used the Peaceful Moments stamp set) with Stazon Jet Black ink. I like how clear this ink stamps! I also added a sweet flower from the Special Someone stamp set. This was colored using Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight markers. TIP: When using Stazon Jet Black ink, DO NOT USE BLENDS TO COLOR! It simply smears the ink instead of adding color.
  • Using the Ornate Borders Dies once more, cut the same border die from Blushing Bride cs (approx. 1/2″ x 4″). Adhere to the Whisper White panel using liquid glue.
  • Adhere this Whisper White panel to the 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ Mint Macaron piece. Cute, cute!

The envelope…

  • Cut a piece of matching SDSP from the Ornate Garden SDSP pack 2 1/4″ x 6″. Adhere with liquid glue and trim.
  • Stamp the adorable flower used on the card panel insert on the envelope front (I did it five times!) Color using Flirty Flamingo marker for the petals and Daffodil Delight marker for the flower center.

Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies DSP and More

Today’s cards use mostly the Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies Designer Series paper. The focus is the DSP, but there are other elements too: sentiments, die cuts – like that. Read on for more info! 🙂

I decided to share both of these cards today as the layout is so similar, but by adding another element (sentiment at the bottom) as is the case of the second card, it gives it a completely different look. Would love to hear if you prefer one card over the other.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here are the details…

Card #1 – the red poppies

  • Whisper White card base 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″; for inside, 3 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • Poppy Parade layer 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. Cut 2, one for inside.
  • Using the 1″ x 4″ framelit from the Ornate Layers Dies, cut three pieces from the DSP, in sequential order so you see the picture/ connections to each frame. Notice how frame #1 carries over to frame #2, and that follows into frame #3? Once all are cut, put  dimensionals on the back.
  • TIP…Using your grid paper as a guideline for the best centering. place the middle frame first onto the Poppy Parade, then place the remaining two frames.
  • Wrap ribbon around this entire section (see photo), and tie a knot or bow. I like bows and nearly always do this. 🙂 This is a retired item (sorry!) but another option would be to color a length of baker’s twine using your Stampin’ Blends Old Olive, which would work beautifully!
  • Stamp your sentiment on Whisper White using Stazon Jet Black ink. This one is from Peaceful Moments stamp set but could easily be a birthday or hello friend. The options are limitless! Cut with framelit that fits your sentiment- again this diecut is from ……. Adhere with dimensionals.
  • Now adhere the entire Poppy Parade section to the card base using dimensionals and the card front is complete!

The inside is super easy…

  • On the remaining section of Whisper White, stamp your sentiment in Stazon Jet Black ink. Stazon gives such a clear stamp and I like how it looks. For this sentiment, I taped off the “with all my heart” before inking the stamp, then removed the tape and voila – a perfect  “thinking of you”. This sentiment is from Peaceful Moments stamp set.
  • Adhere the Whisper White to the remaining section of Poppy Parade, using liquid glue.

The envelope get’s special treatment too…

  • Using liquid glue, adhere a 2 1/4″ x 6″ piece of coordinating DSP to the envelope flap. Trim.
  • Using the “fill in” stamp, ink with Poppy Parade, stamp off at least once, then onto your envelope front.
  • Using the smaller poppy stamp, ink with the Stazon Jet Black and stamp over the “filler” stamp.
  • TIP…Because of the thickness of this card, it will need extra postage when sending in the mail. And this card is already out the door and in the mail. Our daughter asked for a card that was colorful and reflective of the woman friend who recently passed away ~ this is for her husband.

Card #2 is very similar, dimensions are a bit different for the card front and the inside. Here’s the picture again…

  • Highland Heather 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Whisper White: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ for the outside, 4 x 5 1/4″ for the inside, scrap approximately 3 1/8″ x 1 1/8″
  • Scrap from the DSP for the sentiment on the front.

I wanted the sections of the DSP to be more reflective of the picture, so placed them closer together and of course, cut the Whisper White section smaller as well. Follow the above directions for placement, etc. as they are the same.

Here’s where the difference is…

  • For the sentiment at the bottom… I stamped the “hello” from the Timeless Tropical stamp set right onto a scrap from the DSP. I like how it coordinates with the upper section.
  • Cut a rectangle from Whisper White from the Stitched Rectangles Dies.
  • Adhere the hello sentiment with dimensionals to the rectangle just cut and apply dimensionals to the rectangle.
  • Placement for the card front sections… again, using your grid paper, center the bottom piece first, then center the upper section. YAY – card front is complete.

For the inside…

  • Stamp the poppy from Painted Poppies stamp set in Memento Black ink onto Whisper
    White 4″ x 5 1/4″; color using Stampin’ Blends light and dark Rich Razzleberry and light and dark Granny Apple Green for the leaf and stems. I used no sentiment on this piece as it is for a special note.
  • Adhere to the card base using liquid glue.

For the envelope…

  • Cut a piece of coordinating DSP 2 1/4″ x 6″, adhere with liquid glue to the envelope flap and trim.
  • Stamp the poppy from Painted Poppies stamp set, then color using the light and dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ blends, light and dark Granny. Apple Green for the stems and leaf. TIP…slip a piece of scrap into the envelope prior to using the Stampin’ Blends. Remember they bleed through, so to prevent this you need a something to bleed onto instead of the envelope back!

This card too is already in the mail – sent to a special woman who has had health struggles with cancer this year – and she loves purple. Do you think she will like this card? As in Card #1, this also needs extra postage. What I know is, even when it costs more to send, I KNOW the recipient is appreciative and that makes the difference.
