Stampin’ Up! Delicate Pines Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday – and welcome to our fun hop! We have a sketch challenge today that suggests lots of opportunities. I have chosen to use the Delicate Pines Bundle and Elegant Pines Snowflakes DSP to create a pretty Christmas card.

I used Old Olive for my card base and added a layer of Secret Sea then Elegant Pines Snowflakes DSP. I added a strip of Secret Sea to follow the sketch challenge. I then fussy cut this pretty snowflake from the designer series paper. I set this aside while die cutting several pine boughs from Cloud Cover card stock. I attached some to the back of the snowflake with Stampin’ Seal, punched a circle with the 2 3/8″ circle punch from Secret Sea card stock to add to the back for stability and to hold the fragile pine boughs in place. I added dimesnionals to this and attached it to the card front. I slipped in more pine boughs where I though the card needed them, attaching with dabs of liquid glue. As a final touch, I added a single red Faceted Snowflake to the center.

For the inside… on the Basic White panel I stamped the sentiment from the Delicate Pines bundle in Shaded Spruce ink then stamped the oh so beautiful pine branches in Old Olive ink that I added secret Sea ink with a sponge dauber. This was added to the Secret Sea card stock panel then to the inside of the card.

For the envelope… more Elegant Pines Snowflakes DSP was added to the flap & trimmed to fit. On the front I used the same beautiful pine bough from Delicate Pines stamp set, inked it with Old Olive ink then used a sponge dauber to create depth & interest. Done!

To me, this is a very masculine card… and I like that! I find it rather difficult to create a masculine type card for most occasions. 🥴 Now… before you get on with the hop, card cuts are listed below as well as a way to purchase these products and other Stampin’ Up! products from me.

Stampin’ Up! Spotlight On Nature Window Z Fold

Spotlight On Nature is SUCH a beautiful Bundle – all those incredible circle dies with sweet designs around. I’ve used two of them on this card.

Stampin' Up! Spotlight On Nature Window Z Fold

I used the Country Woods 12×12 DSP (4 x 5 1/4) for the layer on Crumb Cake card base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 5 12). Because of the window die cut, when adhering the DSP, adhere only around the edges! I used Stampin’ Seal just to keep it simple for me. Next I die cut the window on the card front by placing the appropriate size die on the DSP with the card base open. I then die cut the outer rim circle in Balmy Blue. Remember I’m using Spotlight On Nature Dies. To create the rim takes two dies as the dies cut along the outside only. Just reserve those die cut pieces for a later use. Next I stamped the Spotlight On Nature floral image in Memento ink on a Basic White piece and colored it with Stampin’ Blends. Using my Color Coach as a guide, I used Balmy Blue and Shaded Spruce Blends, then splattered ink spots with the Balmy Blue then with Basic Black Marker. How to do this, gently flick the brush end of the blend against the cap, flicking toward the project. This can be a bit messy, so be certain other items are out of the way :O).

To create the z fold portion… cut a Basic White piece 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 and score on the long side at 4 & 6 1/4. Score to make the Z – valley, mountain. Stamp this as desired. Here I stamped the leaf image in Shaded Spruce ink making certain not to go above the card front opening. I stamped the Butterfly in Memento ink then colored it with Stampin’ Blends Peach Pie and Balmy Blue. On the far right side of the Z fold I added a strip of Subtles 6×6 DSP cut 2 x 5 1/4. I adhered this Z panel to the inside of the card. With the card closed and the Z folded, I placed the flower die cut in the circle, adhering it just to the Z panel. It should open and close without catching. As a final touch, I added three Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots in Balmy Blue. Love, love! I realized the area where I used Stampin’ Blends on the butterfly was showing through, so I added another panel of the Subtles 6×6 DSP in Balmy Blue cut 2 x 5 1/4 to that strip.

The envelope got more of the Country Woods 12×12 DSP adhered to the flap (2 1/4 x 6) and trimmed to fit. On the envelope front I stamped the floral image again from Spotlight On Nature in Memento ink. As you see, I only stamped the medium size flower & leaves, and colored them same as the circle die cut image: Stampin’ Blends Balmy Blue and Shaded Spruce.

Stampin’ Up! NEW Thoughtful Wishes Sneak Peek

Good morning! It’s Monday and another week begins. Hope you have plans to craft a day or two this week. My card today is super simple – not so many layers. It’s made with a new stamp set bundle called Thoughtful Wishes.

I began by stamping this leaf ‘stalk’ from Thoughtful Wishes stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on a Basic White piece. I colored in the leaves with Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends then die cut it with the appropriate Thoughtful wishes Dies. I pulled out an acrylic block and covered it with Peach Pie ink (NEW IN COLOR & GORGEOUS) with the brush tip of my Stampin’ Blends. I spritzed it with alcohol to give it a watery look and stamped it on a larger piece of Basic White. It takes a minute to dry completely so I used half dimensionals to put on the back of my leaf stalk and adhered it on top of the stamped image. It gave it a great background! I then chose a sentiment from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set and stamped it in Mossy Meadow ink. For embellishments, I pulled out the Blooming Pearls and added three. This panel was secured to a Peach Pie card base and the front was finished. As I said, very, very simple.

For the inside… I stamped this very sweet image from Thoughtful Wishes stamp set all across the bottom of the Basic White panel. This was adhered to the inside of the card.

For the envelope I wanted to keep this simple too, so I stamped just a portion of the same leaf stalk from Thoughtful Wishes stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink.

Stampin’ Up! Layered Florals 3D EF Sympathy Card

Hello folks. The Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder is just beautiful. I’ve paired it with the Thoughtful Expressions Bundle and Lifetime of Love stamp set, all of which may be found in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog.

I used a Thick Basic White card base and paired it with Azure Afternoon card stock. I ran the Azure Afternoon panel through the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder to get this marvelous deep impression. I pulled out the Whisper White re-inker and put a couple of drops on an acrylic block. With a sponge dauber, I tapped into the ink then swiped the dauber gently across the raised parts of the panel. As various portions dried the ink became lighter and I kept applying where I wanted a bit more of the white, until I was satisfied.I adhered this to the card base with liquid glue. I used my embossing buddy to clean all static from a Basic White scrap, stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with the heat tool. I love watching the silver as it melts and becomes shiny. The sentiment is from Thoughtful Expressions stamp set. I die cut the piece with the Thoughtful Expressions Dies. I looped a piece of the Silver trim from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo Pack, to make it look like a bow and adhered it in place with glue dots. I added dimensionals to the die cut sentiment piece and attached it over the bow. As a final touch, I added three Festive Pearls in Silver.

For the inside… I again used the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder to create an edge pattern on the sentiment insert. I stamped the sentiment in Azure Afternoon ink using the Thoughtful expressions stamp set.

For the envelope… I embossed the flap with the same Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder, then stamped this lovely flower in Azure Afternoon ink. The flower is so similar to the large flowers of the embossing folder, I simply HAD to use it. It comes from the Lifetime of Love stamp set.(which also has gorgeous coordinating dies BTW!)

The Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog has the embossing folder listed on page 65; Thoughtful Expressions bundle on 62 and Lifetime of Love bundle on page 16.. Stampin’ Up! Stippled Roses Birthday

Good Saturday morning. We had another night of torrential rain & winds last night – gads! I just feel lucky we didn’t lose power, trees didn’t come down – you know, like that.

We had card class Thursday and this is one of the cards we made. Today’s card is pretty easy using just one bundle, Stippled Roses and it’s coordinating Stippled Roses Dies. I stamped the rose in Moody Mauve on a Basic White panel, then moved the ink around on the roses with my Blender Pen. A clue or two about that process: try not to overwork an area. In other words, no need to keep going over it. And I just worked in the darker inked areas and moved it around. No need to overthink. For the leaves I used my small Blending Brush and with Granny Apple Green ink, tapped off some of the ink and gently colored the leaves. It doesn’t need to be perfect, just add color. If you think it needs more color pull out those Stampin Blends in Granny Apple Green and add some definition. I definitely used those around the rose buds. I die cut the rose with the large Stippled Roses Dies. I used the leaf die from the same set of dies and die cut three leaves. I added them to the back of the die cut rose with Seal+ and added dimensionals as well. I embossed a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Granny Apple Green card stock with the Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder (a FREE item with a qualifying order from the Sale-a-Bration catalog). Look at that wonderful detail – love it! I adhered the embossed panel to a slightly larger Basic White and then directly to the Moody Mauve card base. I added the die cut roses that on dimensionals and the card was just about done. I stamped the sentiment in Moody Mauve ink on a scrap of Basic White and trimmed it down, added dimensionals and one & done. I flicked my Wink of Stella all over then added three wonderful pearls.

For the inside I stamped the single rose in Moody Mauve ink on a Basic White panel and added that to the inside of the card. You CAN do the same process of moving the ink around with the Blender pen – I did not.

For the envelope… the same single rose stamped in Moody Mauve ink on the front of the card. I also ran a piece of Moody Mauve card stock through the Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder and added it to the flap. A beautiful and quick birthday card.

Stampin’ Up! Garden Meadow Bundle with Merry Bold & Bright DSP

Good Monday – ’tis already Dec 18! How are you doing with shopping? I’m nearly there but not quite :O) today’s the day to finish though. I had this Merry Bold & Bright DSP on my table and decided to use it – in kind of a different way. Really I’m just playing around. And I pulled out the Garden Meadow stamp set bundle. This is a fun bundle found in the new Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog. I love the rain boots stamp & coordinating die! And I wanted to use the ‘every day is a fresh start’ sentiment. To me it indicates we can wipe the slate clean and begin again, or… pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start anew. Anyway, here’s my card.

Stampin' Up! Garden Meadow bundle with Merry Bold & Bright DSP

I also pulled out the Heartfelt Hexagon bundle to create the sentiment banner. I stamped the hexagon outline with Melon Mambo ink on a Basic White scrap, punched it out with the coordinating Heartfelt Hexagon Punch then stamped the sentiment in Memento ink using the Garden Meadow stamp set. I stamped the boots in Memento ink as well, but on Merry Bold & Bright DSP, then die cut it with the appropriate die – both from the Garden Meadow bundle. Then I set about making the card base: Melon Mambo 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. I created layers with Flirty Flamingo and more Merry Bold & Bright DSP, trimming each on an angleI layered them together with liquid glue. I placed the boots on dimensionals and attached them. I stamped the sweet flowers in Memento ink using the sweet stamp in Garden Meadow stamp set. I colored the flowers with Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends. (I should have stamped this sweet stamp in Garden Green ink!) The two layers were attached to the card base with dimensionals, then the hexagon piece was attached also with dimensionals.

For the inside… another layer of Flirty Flamingo was added to the card base. The Basic White panel was stamped first with the sentiment in Melon Mambo ink, then the basket of flowers in Memento ink. Both come from the Garden Meadow stamp set. I colored the flowers & leaves with Stampin’ Blends: Light Poppy Parade, Light Daffodil Delight, Dark Flirty Flamingo and both Dark & Light Lemon Lime Twist.

For the envelope… more of the Merry Bold & Bright DSP on the flap and the same precious basked from the Garden Meadow stamp set stamped on the front in Memento ink – same coloring as the inside basket :O). This card is being sent to a friend who is undergoing chemo treatments and needs a ‘pick-me-up’. I’m hoping this card will help.

The Merry Bold & Bright DSP is in the Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalog and is being discontinued. You will find it on the LAST CHANCE PRODUCT list. Speaking of which…

Stampin’ Up! Stippled Roses in Calypso Coral

Good Friday morning! What’s going on in your ‘neck of the woods’? We have coldness here in NJ – 27 degrees this AM – and have our heated bird bath working. The birds are flocking to it! I’m amazed how many are on it at the same time – and variety too. Nature has lessons for us :O)

My card today is another using Stippled Roses – I’m loving the detail of the stamped roses and the die cut leaves are just stunningly detailed.

I ran a Basic White piece through a new embossing folder called Softly Sophisticated 3D EF to create more texture for the card and added it to a Thick Basic White card base. I’ve paired the Softly Stippled DSP with Lost Lagoon card stock, adhered together, then added to the card front on dimensionals. I die cut a circle with the Stylish Shapes Dies as I like the look of the edge. I stamped the rose in Calypso Coral ink on a Basic White scrap & die cut it with the Stippled Roses Dies. I also die cut the leaves in Lost Lagoon card stock with one of the Stippled Roses Dies. I added the leaves to the circle with liquid glue and the rose image with dimensionals. Three Blooming Pearls were added to the circle which was adhered to the card front with liquid glue.

Nothing Calypso Coral on the inside of this card :O) – it’s all Lost Lagoon! Just look at those gorgeous leaves stamped. It’s a single stamp and simply beautiful – from Stippled Roses stamp set. The sentiment comes from the So Sincere stamp set in the retiring Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalog. I layered the Basic White stamped panel to Lost Lagoon and then right onto the inside of the card base. DONE!

I kept the envelope super simple… added a piece of the Softly Stippled DSP to the envelope flap and that was it.
