Hello!!! And welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We have a color challenge today that just seems perfect for a fall card. Here’s what i created for it…

Our color challenge is as seen in this photo…

The plaid is from the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Regal DSP and it’s Crushed Curry. The background DSP is Pumpkin Pie in the same 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Regal DSP. I used it to cover the card front of the Pumpkin Pie card base. And I used the Stitched Rectangles to create the rectangles. Here’s a picture of how I die cut that.

It’s obvious how I held everything in place while I did the Stitched Rectangles die cuts. It was perfect… I adhered these in place with liquid glue – please notice how all the plaids line up just right in the completed card.:O)

The next step was the pumpkin – stamped on Basic White Thick card stock then colored with Stampin’ Blends… Pumpkin Pie, Light then Dark; Cajun Craze, Light & Dark. The stem was colored with Mossy Meadow Marker. The pumpkin was die cut with the pumpkin die from the Rustic Pumpkin Die (which of course coordinates w/ the Hello Harvest stamp set. As a bundle it’s 10% off!) This pumpkin was adhered in place with dimensionals after attaching a bit of Linen Thread with Stampin’ Seal. Here’s a photo of that…

I stamped the small flowers in Memento Ink and colored w/ Stampin’ Blends So Saffron & Pumpkin Pie and die cut with the Rustic Pumpkin Dies. The flower on the left was secured in place with glue dots and the other two with dimesnionals. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Ink as well, on basic White, and die cut with Stitched Rectangles. This was adhered in place with dimensional on the left and one in the upper right corner and a bit of glue on the lower right corner. As a final touch, three Brushed Metallic Dots were added for a bit of glam. I like it! And that was it for the card front.

For the inside, I kept it real simple… and stamped the image in Memento Black on Basic White card stocl and adhered it to the inside of the card. The image is from Hello Harvest stamp set. This was attached in place with liquid glue ~ and the card was done.

For the envelope… more of the same plaid from 2022-2024- In Color 6×6 DSP in crushed Curry on the flap and the very nice bouquet stamped in Memento Ink on the envelope front. I colored the flowers with stampin’ Blends So Saffron & Pumpkin Pie.

Stampin’ Up! Boughs of Holly + Merriest Moments for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hi there! We have a challenge for our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop that is sketch challenge and here’s what I did for it.

Stampin' Up! Slimline card with Boughs of Holly DSP & more

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop 7/18/22

I’ve chosen to do a slimline card :O) for this challenge using the Boughs of Holly DSP as the main focus. I even used another piece of DSP as a layer behind the super colorful panel. I colored the Crinkled Seam Binding with a Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends to ‘tie’ it all together. And the sentiment on the front is on a Basic White piece stamped in Mossy Meadow ink using the Leaves of Holly stamp set & die cut with the Holly Berry Dies. These two coordinate & so when purchased together offer a 10% discount!!! Just sayin’… if you want this bundle, this is the way to go. OK, what else…you can see I slipped the ribbon behind the sentiment banner for a bit of fun. I think it adds a nice touch. The ribbon is adhered in place with a glue dot and the piece that slips behind the sentiment banner also has a glue dot. The banner is on dimensionals. Measurements will be given at the end of this post. :O)

Stampin' Up! slimline card, inside, Merriest Moments

For the inside I used another piece of the same DSP as on the layer on the front, from Boughs of Holly DSP. then added a Basic White panel. This panel is stamped using Merriest Moments stamp set. The sentiment is stamped in Shaded Spruce ink. The holly leaves are stamped first in Old Olive ink, stamped off, then with a sponge dauber, inked with Shaded Spruce ink and stamped on the panel. I love this look, the varied colors so similar to nature! Again, card stock measurements will be listed at the end of this post.

And here’s the Slimline Envelope (157981) decorated using the Merriest Moments stamp set.I inked the holly leaf stamp in Old Olive, stamped off, used the sponge dauber & Shaded Spruce ink to add a bit of variation, then stamped the envelope with each holly leaf. And that was it!!! YAY!

Stampin’ Up! Book-Binding Gatefold Card

Hi there! I have a very fun & easy card for you today. Yes, layers, that’s me. It’s a fun fold.

I’ve used the Boughs of Holly DSP and the Leaves of Holly stamp set with it’s coordinating dies: Holly Berry Dies.Notice this center sentiment banner. Gorgeous, right? The berries on the lower right are holding the gatefold closed by simply slipping part of the sentiment banner under the berries, which are on dimensionals of course. And here it is out from under the berries.

Notice how the ‘gate’ is open? Ok, how to make this beauty.

Cut the card base 4 1/4 x 11 & score @ 2 1/8, 3 3/8, & 8 7/8 (this is Real Red card stock) & burnish
Cut layering panels: 1 1/8 x 4 1/8, 2 x 4 1/8 (cut 2) * for inside 4 1/8 x 4 1/8 (this is Soft Succulent card stock)
Cut DSP panels: 1 x 4, 1 7/8 x 4 (cut 2) (this is Boughs of Holly DSP) Notice they are coordinating
Basic White square inside is 4 x 4
Thick Basic White : 6 x 4 for sentiment banner & berries

The first step is to create the book-binding… adhere together with a strong adhesive (I used Seal+) the scored area between 2 1/8 & 3 3/8. Adhere DSP panels to their like card stock cuts, then onto the card front. That’s really it except for decorating the card front :O)

To decorate: die cut 2 sentiment banners from Thick Basic White and from Evening Evergreen, the backing for the holly leaves. Adhere Evening Evergreen piece in place behind holly leaves, then adhere other banner piece to this for strength. Stamp sentiment in Real Red using the Leaves of holly stamp set.

Stamp berries ~ the detail is stamped first in Sweet Sorbet ink, then stamp over this with the more solid berry stamp in Real Red ink. Die cut with the appropriate die from Holly Berry Dies. Do this three times. Add one set of berries to the upper right corner of the sentiment banner, behind. Cut apart one set of berries to use two berries to add with dimensionals near the holly leaves. Close the Gate fold and adhere sentiment banner only on the left ‘gate’. Put dimensionals on the remaining set of berries and attach so the corner of the sentiment banner can slide under it. YAY, done! Now add several Rhinestone Basic Jewels for sparkle.

Here you can see five of the seven rhinestones added to the card front.

Stampin' Up! Book-binding Gatefold, inside

To create the inside is super easy too. Adhere the Soft Succulent panel first. Now stamp the Basic White piece: berries first. Detail stamp is Sweet Sorbet, more solid stamp is Real Red. Finally stamp the sentiment from the Leaves of Holly stamp set in Real Red. Adhere this panel in place and the card is finis. :O) Beautiful, right?

Stampin' Up! Book Binding Gatefold envelope

For the envelope I stamped the sentiment from Leaves of Holly in Real Red ink across the bottom front. The flap got more of the Boughs of Holly DSP. Lovely, fresh, cheery.

This book-binding gatefold is so quick & easy and can be used for any occasion. Just change up the papers and there ya go! Can’t wait to see what you do with it.

Stampin’ Up! Four-Panel Card: Leaves of Holly

Hello stampers… this is my second post for the day as I’ve had requests for measurements for a card posted recently. Don’t ya love it when folks ask for information? I know I do! Here’s the card…

Layer: Evening Evergreen 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 (cut 2, one for inside)

Top left: Soft Succulent 1 5/8 x 3 1/8; DSP 1 1/2 x 3
Top right: Soft Succulent 1 5/8 x 1 7/16
Bottom right: Soft Succulent 1 5/8 x 2 3/8; DSP 1 1/2 x 2 1/4
Bottom left: 1 5/8 x 2 1/8

Stampin’ Up! Holly Berry Dies and More

Good Sunday morning! I have another Christmas card for you, and here it is mid August. :O) I’m just getting around to playing with the Holly Berry Dies ~ and yes, they coordinate with Leaves of Holly stamp set and you save 10% when purchasing together. It is a fabulous set. Let’s take a look …

Look at those gorgeous holly leaves. Such detail! And these are large leaves too. Ok, so here’s what I did… I covered the front of the card base (Basic White Thick) with Boughs of Holly DSP. I took another panel of Boughs of Holly DSP and backed it with a piece of Basic White, same size. I cut a Wonderful Snowflakes in half and played with placement as it was ton go behind the layer just cut. Once in place, I added the smaller layer on dimensionals. I did a bit of die cutting: Soft Suede for the detail of the holly and Shaded Spruce for behind it. I die cut another holly detail die in Basic White. I also die cut the two layers for the berries, using some scrap of the Boughs of Holly DSP that I covered the front of the card base. I loosely adhered one of the holly layers together, the other I adhered totally. And the berry dies I adhered together as well. I used a card on page 24 of the Jul-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog for my inspiration. After determining placement, I began adhering leaves & berries in place. I the cut a 1/2″ Natural Woven ribbon in half lengthwise, colored one side with a Stampin’ Blends with Light Crumb Cake, tied a bow and adhered it in place with a glue dot. The last part of the card front was the sentiment banner. I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink on a Basic White piece then die cut it with a banner die from the Holly Berry Dies. I adhered this with dimensionals and called the card front done.

For the inside, I cut a panel of Boughs of Holly for my background and adhered it in place. On a basic White panel, I stamped the holly leaves in Shaded Spruce, second generation for the darker leaf, then continued third generation for the other two leaves. I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink still using the Leaves of Holly stamp set. I adhered this panel in place and the card was done.

As you can see, more of the red Boughs of Holly DSP for the envelope flap. For the front, more holly leaves in Shaded Spruce using the Leaves of Holly stamp set. When stamping second and third generation, it’s best to re-ink between stamping, stamp off on a scrap then onto your main piece. Love this bundle of stamps & dies! You’ll see more of this I’m sure. 😁

Stampin’ Up! Leaves of Holly

Good morning Saturday. WOW – big temperature drop. It’s actually cool here. Tuesday it was 104; today we waken to 60! Big, big difference. Perhaps I can actually do some work outside today :O) My card… speaks of Christmas. It mostly uses Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper and a bit of stamping using the Leaves of Holly stamp set. My card tomorrow shows off that stamp & die bundle.

Cards look so different in a photo… I started with a card base of Soft Succulent, then a layer of Evening Evergreen and Basic White – all adhered together. The next layer is all on dimensionals.

top left: Soft Succulent layered with Boughs of Holly DSO then a Textured Element adhered directly. I used the Pearlized Enamel Effects on each of the tips of this element for a bit of added sparkle.
top right: Soft Succulent base, clean with Embossing buddy to remove any static, stamp the two sentiments from Leaves of Holly stamp set in VersaMark, sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and heat set with the SU! Heat Tool. Once this has cooled, stamp the holly leaf in second generation Soft Succulent ink. Dot with Pearlized Enamel Effects.

Spacing is especially important in this kind of project so lay them out before attaching! The most difficult part for me on a project like this, is determining the sizes of the front layer. Once I do that, the rest is easy!!

Stampin' Up! Leaves of Holly, card inside

This holly leaf from the Leaves of Holly stamp set are just beautiful! I stamped them in second generation Soft Succulent ink then stamped the sentiment (yep, Leaves of Holly stamp set) in full strength Soft Succulent on a Basic White piece. This I adhered to Evening Evergreen then attached it to the inside of the card.

More of the same pattern of Boughs of Holly DSP on the envelope flap, then second generation Soft Succulent ink stamped holly leaf from Leaves of Holly stamp set. Love the colors in this. Stampin’ Up! Soft Seedlings

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! The theme this week is ‘Harvest’ and I’ve chosen to use the baby wipe technique and the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set.

Stampin' Up! Soft Seedlings and bay wipe technique

Harvest just says ‘fall’ to me… and here it is almost mid August. Already the sky is not light as late at night and remains darker later in the morning. Boo hoo! But I love seasons, so I’m not complaining. I was playing with the baby wipe technique and these came out so softly that at first I didn’t like it, but the more I played, the more I DID like it. My baby wipe was a bit dry and that’s why I think it turned out so softly, but as I said, I like it. If you haven’t done this technique before, I urge you to try it… it’s super easy

the baby wipe should be on a large acrylic plate or a ceramic one, something that will protect your surface from the wetness – and be flat too of course.
drop various re-inker colors on the baby wipe: I used Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Garden Green and Crumb Cake (harvest/ fall colors). Allow them to bleed together.
With the stamp on an acrylic block, stamp onto the inked baby wipe then onto the desired card stock. I used Very Vanilla for this card. Continue as many times as needed for the effect you are wanting.
Because I had extra card stock on my table, I stamped for the inside layer and the envelope front ~ and each time the image was different in colors. L-O-V-E!

I trimmed my focal image down and adhered it to a Pumpkin Pie panel. It was at this point I created my background: Regals 6×6 DSP in Pumpkin Pie – fun plaid – adhered to Pumpkin Pie. I wrapped this with a length of Frayed Ribbon and attached it in back with Seal+, then mounted it on a Very Vanilla card base with dimensionals. I took my baby wipe focal piece and attached it with dimensionals to the card front. For the sentiment, I stamped this in Soft Suede ink using the True Beauty stamp set on a Very Vanilla strip. I wanted a scrolly kind of font that imitated the swirly of the front image. This was added to another piece of Pumpkin Pie and added to the front with dimensionals. As a final touch – Amber Gems from the Leaf Label & Amber Gems Combo Pack. And the front was done.

Remember this inside is already stamped with the maple leaf whirly-gigs :O) using the baby wipe technique explained above. And yes, it’s Very Vanilla card stock added to a Pumpkin Pie layer, then attached to the inside of the card.

For the envelope, I stamped the leaf image using the baby wipe technique on the front, then more of the Regals 6×6 DSP Pumpkin Pie – fun plaid – on the flap & voila – the card is done. Depending on the color of re-inkers used for this technique, this card could be in deep purples with bits of Crumb Cake or Crushed Curry – hmmm I may have to try that! – or shades of red. You really can use your imagination and use just about any color combo. Have fun with it!

Stampin’ Up! Stylish Shapes, Masculine

Good Wednesday morning! We had rain last night at some point – stove clock and microwave clocks were flashing when I got up. I must have been very sound asleep! Gotta check the rain gage in a bit. How about you ~ what’s going on in your part of the world? Ah, but this post is about card making… so… today’s card is pretty fun and amazingly masculine. The Stylish Sketches stamp set is a FREE one during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying order, and it has a couple of really interesting and different stamps.

When I think masculine, I usually think dark colors. This is anything but that. Take a look at that wolf – isn’t he stunning? We have a couple of wolves in our neighborhood, lots of woods for their den, etc. And we have marveled at them! They are beautiful! So this stamp set was a must for me, when I had options of choice for FREE product. This card has several layers: card base is Thick Basic White, next layer is Smoky Slate with a Basic White embossed panel, adhered ton the card base with dimensionals. And oh yes, the embossing folder is Timeworn Type 3D. The next layer is Smoky Slate and a panel of Gingham Cottage plaid in Smoky Slate. Around that is wrapped Gray Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack, and tied with a simple knot. Yes, I did add a glue dot under the knot. You also see three Classic Matte Dots in dark gray. This was adhered with dimensionals. To the upper right is the wolf stamped in Memento Black on a Basic White piece and adhered with dimensionals on the right and liquid glue on the left. I also stamped the sentiment in Memento ink and adhered it in the same fashion: dimensionals on the right, liquid glue on the left.

For the inside of the card, I stamped just part of the wolf (as though he is going across our front yard) in Memento Black ink on a Basic White panel, adhered it to Smoky
Slate and then into the card base.

For the envelope, more of the same Smoky Slate Gingham Cottage DSP on the flap and another wolf on the front, stamped in Memento Black ink. I love this wolf! Could be because we have seen a couple of wolves on a daily basis here. And the image is like a true sketch, with extra lines and all. What a fun stamp! Masculine cards do not come easily for me, but with this stamp I can see several possibilities. YAY!! I’ll list dimensions of each of the layers at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Hello Harvest Fun Fold

Hello again! It’s time for another Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop Group… and the theme is “Fall Frenzy”. Check out my card…

Whoa… the colors on my card are clashing with the the blog hop logo – yikes! But it just doesn’t matter!!! My card… these Leaf Labels are so fun to play with – here I added some color to the edges with sponge daubers and several inks: Poppy Parade, Evening Evergreen and Crushed Curry. I kept them pretty soft. And in the middle is stamped the simple word ‘hello’ from the Soft Seedlings stamp set. I love this font! I also added some of the Amber Gems that come packaged with the Leaf Labels. But I’m ahead of myself… perhaps we should begin with the card base 🥴 I like layers as you know, so: Crushed Curry card base layered with Crumb Cake then Rings of Love DSP (FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 product order!) The next is the fun fold part… Crushed Curry 3 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 14. Layer the front with Crumb Cake, then Gingham Cottage DSP in So Saffron. Take another piece of Crushed Curry 2 1/2 x 4 14 and lay it crosswise on the front and adhere with dimensionals. Run a slightly smaller panel of Crumb cake through the Timber 3D embossing folder and add it to this Crushed Curry piece. Now we decorate…

Ink the leaf stamp from Hello Harvest stamp set, in Crushed Curry, stamp off and with sponge daubers add a bit of color to the leaf tips: Evening Evergreen and Poppy Parade. Do this twice cleaning between each process, then die cut using the coordinating Rustic Pumpkin Dies. Before putting this stamp away, stamp a 4 x 5 14 Basic White panel and the envelope front following the same procedure.
Place the two die cut leaves, one under the Leaf Label and one on top. Add a twirly stem die cut using the Rustic Pumpkin Dies and Garden Green card stock scrap.
Adhere all these to the embossed Crushed Curry piece.
Add the bow made from separated strings of Baker’s Twine in White and Crumb Cake… with a dab of liquid glue.

Add this folded panel to the card base (remember the three layers that started the card), centering it. Now decorate the inside of the folded portion: Crumb Cake layer, then decorated Basic White layer.

The Basic White layer… stamp the sentiment in Soft Suede ink using this wonderful sentiment from Hello Harvest stamp set.
Stamp two flowers in Memento Black ink on either side of the sentiment. Color the flowers with Stampin’ Blends Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede

Now turn the completed card over and add the Basic White panel stamped with the leaf from Hello Harvest.

Envelope: Remember the front has already been stamped with the leaf from Harvest Hello. Now add more of the same Gingham Cottage to the flap and your card is complete :O)

Stampin’ Up! Faux Step Fun Fold

Hello again… what’s it like in your part of the world? Warm, chilly, rainy, sunny? It’s been uber hot here lately and plants hav e suffered for it. Me – I’m fortunate to have sir conditioning and have stayed inside quite a bit. Whatever your weather, taken care of yourself, ok?

I decided to play with a fold I hadn’t done before and it was super easy. I used the Rings of Nature DSP that’s FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 purchase. It’s beautiful paper! And I brought in some elements from the Jul-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog as well. Of course, card stock is in the Annual Catalog, so guess I used products from all three – ha!

What do you think? It looks pretty easy doesn’t it? So, let me talk you through it.

Two elements of card base: the short one and the tall one.
- Poppy Parade 2 1/2 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 & burnish
- Poppy Parade 4 1/4 x 9 scored at 1 1/4, 2 1/2 & 5 3/4 & burnish; mountain, valley, mountain

Layer the tall front panel with Mint Macaron 2 1/4 x 5 1/4; layer DSP (Rings of Nature) 2 x 5 onto that
Cut a piece of Basic White for the back of the tall panel (2 1/4 x 5 1/4) & decorate. I stamped it with the super cute flower from Nature’s Prints stamp set by inking the flower part with Poppy Parade marker and the stem with Crumb Cake marker. I huffed on it and stamped. Adhere to the back of the tall panel and set aside.

Take a Textural Element and add Pearlized Enamel Effects to each tip. Set aside to dry & firm.

Cut a piece of DSP (Rings of Nature) 3×4 and adhere to the larger panel
Adhere the tall panel to the small section in front, centering it.
Close both pieces and adhere the tall panel to the back of the shorter , folded piece
Decorate the front of the tall panel.
- Die cut a single leaf spray in Mint Macaron using the natural Prints Dies.
- Adhere a Textural Element to that.

Stamp the sentiment in Crumb Cake ink on a Basic White scrap and die cut with a Layering Circles Die. Put dimesnionals on the back of the circle being aware of where it will be attached.
Add circle to the card front.
Slip the Textural Element in behind the circle
Separate strands of White Baker’s Twine and Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine and tie to make a bow. Attach to the Textural Element with a glue dot. These are both part of the Baker’s Twine Essential Pack.
Add Amber Gems to the circle for added glam. These are from the Leaf Label & Amber Gems Pack.

Now that the card is complete, decorate the envelope. I did this simply by adhering Rings of Nature DSP to the flap and a 1/2″ strip to the front of the envelope.
