Stampin’ Up! Floating Panel Fun Fold

Hello again…I have two floating panel fun fold cards for you today… I couldn’t stop! One is made with the super cute At the Pond stamp set + Flowers & More HOST DSP paper pack. The other is made with Enjoy the Adventures Memories & More card pack, Flowers & More HOST DSP paper pack and Stylish Shapes Dies.

Stampin' Up! Enjoy the Adventure Floating Panel Fun Fold
Stampin' Up! Enjoy the Adventures Floating Fun Fold, inside
Stampin' Up! Enjoy the Adventures Floating Panel Fun Fold card & envelope

This is the Enjoy the Adventures Floating Panel fun fold. The Mango Melody circle was die cut from one of the small cards in the memories & more card pack with the Stylish Shapes Dies and the black center is a sticker from the pack! The two were adhered together then added to the card panel with dimensionals. The other two stickers on the card front are the multi-colored arrow and the blue & black banner (I added a dab of glue to make sure they stayed in place.). The embellishments for the card front are Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Balmy Blue.

The inside of the card uses more stickers from the Enjoy the Adventure Memories & More card pack. The flower was added with dimensionals to help the card remain open.😁 The embellishment on the flower is a Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearl.

Stampin' Up! At the Pond Floating Panel Fun Fold
Stampin' Up! At the Pond Floating Panel card inside

This frog – and the others in the stamp set are just so sassy! They are a 2-step stamp for the frog & the log. I stamped the outline first, then the filler stamp in each case. The bugs on the card front were stamped in Memento ink and I filled the wings with color using a Light Balmy Blue Blends, then Wink of Stella. The sentiment is from Charming Sentiments & die cut with its coordinating dies.
For the inside of the card, I stamped the larger bug three times . Again a 2-step stamp, and the filler for the wings was Parakeet Party ink and Tahitian Tide ink. I added a single Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequin in Balmy Blue to each bug – and that sequin held the card open!

Instructions for these two cards may be found on a previous blog here, just change up the DSP and the floating front panel to suit your stamp set. 🄓😁 Isn’t it fun to see a variety of cards using the same layout – just changing stamps/ dies/ DSP, like that. They look so totally different.

Stampin’ Up! Playing in the Rain Fun Fold for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hello everyone! It’s that time of week… for the blog hop!

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday hop.3/23
Stampin' Up! Blog Hop Challenge

Spring is in the air… daffodils are up as are Star Flower, crocus, Narcissus. Hellebores are really showing off (that’s a Lenten Rose if you didn’t know). And temps are rising, sort of… lots of wind – you know March! And here’s my card, a fun fold. It’s an off-set gatefold is what it is. And I really like the offset business.

Stampin' Up! Playing in the Rain bundle

This card begins with Balmy Blue card stock, scored on both ends, just not evenly šŸ˜€ Next I added Mango Melody adhered to each panel, then Rain or Shine DSP on top of that.

Stampin' Up! Playing in the Rain, inside

Moving to the inside of the card, I adhered Rain or Shine DSP to each end panel. I then added Mango Melody to the center panel, I then took a piece of Basic White and stamped the sweet flowers at the bottom using the Playing in the Rain stamp set & Memento ink. I colored the flowers with Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Blends, I stamped the raindrops, again from Playing in the Rain, in Balmy Blue ink. The sentiment also comes from Playing in the Rain and is stamped in Balmy Blue ink. This panel was adhered in the center panel and the inside was complete.

Stampin' Up! Playing in the Rain fun fold with belly band

To make the belly band I cut a strip of Mango Melody in 1 x 91/4, wrapped it around the card loosely and adhered the ends together in the front. I removed the strip & burnished the folds of the band. I die cut a circle using the Stylish Shapes Dies and another piece of the Rain or Shine DSP. I die cut a slightly smaller circle in Basic White for strength and adhered it to the back of the circle. This was adhered with glue to the belly band, covering the glued ends. I die cut directly from the Rain or Shine DSP, this sweet fox with the umbrella and adhered it with dimensionals to the circle.

Stampin' Up! Playing in the Rain fun fold card & envelope

For the envelope, more of the Rain or Shine DSP for the flap; stamped flowers ( Memento ink) and rain drops (Balmy Blue ink) from Playing in the Rain stamp set ~ and the card & envelope were done! Such a cute card!!!

Stampin’ Up! Naturally Gilded and Blending Brushes

Good Tuesday morning. I’m using a new Designer Series Paper called Naturally Gilded Specialty Paper that can be found in the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES. It’s wonderful for using Blending Brushes. It comes with copper, silver & gold designs and is beautiful. I chose today to use Blending Brushes to add color to the copper tone.

Stampin' Up! Naturally Gilded Specialty DSP

I began at the top of the paper blending in Daffodil Delight ink with the Blending Brush. Using the same brush, I then added Mango Melody ink. With a new brush I added Balmy Blue. I have my brushes using color tones for the similar colors and this works well for me. I adhered this to a panel of Copper Foil and set both aside to decide what to do next. This looks like a wildflower garden to me so I pulled out my Dragonfly Punch and it’s coordinating Dragonfly Garden stamp set. There are two dragonflies in this stamp set: one has a more solid, filled in body and the other is the one I chose to use. Using VersaMark ink, I stamped this on a scrap of Basic White, then Copper embossing powder to sprinkle over it, then heat set with the heat tool. I again pulled out my Blending Brushes, Daffodil Delight ink and Balmy Blue, but also brought out Pacific Point for a more vibrant butterfly. I added Daffodil Delight to the center portion of the dragonfly, then Balmy Blue on the outer wings and finally Pacific Point. The Pacific Point really brought the dragonfly to life as it is vibrant. Here’s what it looked like prior to using the punch.

Stampin' Up! Copper dragonfly with embossing powder & blending brushes

You can also notice how mixing the blue with the yellow creates some green on the dragonfly – and that’s ok! I did two of these, punched them with the Dragonfly Punch, then adhered them with mini dimensionals down the center. For the long tail, I trimmed a edge of a dimensional and attached it. I punched a tiny dragonfly from the copper foil. I used a sentiment from the stamp set to create the banner… VersaMark ink + copper embossing powder + heat tool. I punched this with my Double Oval Punch. I played around for a background color for both the card and the sentiment – and came up with Daffodil Delight for both. Yep, brought out the Double Oval Punch for the back of the oval. I attached the tiny copper foil dragonfly with a dab of liquid glue to the sentiment banner, then added dimensionals and placed it on the card front. I added the dragonflies. I had a length of Baker’s Twine on my desk in White, so pullled out my Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends and colored it, folded it in half to make a double bow and attached it with a dab of glue, also to the banner. I added several dimensionals to the back of this slimline panel of Naturally Gilded Paper & Copper foil and added it to a Daffodil Delight card base.

Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Garden for the inside

For the card’s inside, I stamped this array of wildflowers and hovering dragonflies using Memento ink and stamps from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set. I haven’t used this set in a bit and I love it. But then, we just had winter so it seemed inappropriate. Now that it’s officially Spring – bring it on! OK, getting carried away… these were stamped on a Basic White panel then adhered to the inside of the card.

For the envelope, I used this same field flower stamp to stamp the left front but forgot to take a photo. There are slimline envelopes in the catalog and I used a white one :O) Card cuts will be listed at the end of this post.

Stampin’ Up! DSP Fun Fold

Good Friday morning… oh wait, that needs to be read with a bit of Irish brogue… good Fridee mornin’ šŸ˜€ Happy St. Patty’s day šŸ‘. I have three fun cards for you today – pretty much made the same, just with different Designer Series Papers. The first is the Hello, Irresistible DSP from the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES and the Irresistible Bloom Bundle.

Stampin' Up! Irresistible Blooms Bundle
Stampin' Up! Irresistible Blooms Bundle, inside

Hello, Irresistible DSP, Fine Shimmer Paper in gold, Soft Sea Foam and Flirty Flamingo for the card back… + the Irresistible Blooms Bundle for the Flowers and leaves. You can see in the photo showing the inside of the card how the DSP shows off. Loose Frosted Dots were added for glam.

Stampin' Up! Happy Forest Friends
Stampin' Up! Happy Forest Friends inside

Happy Forest Friends DSP is the show-off on this card. Additions to make it: Smoky Slate & Fine Shimmer Paper thin strips, Happier than Happy Bundle (butterfly & sentiment) and a bit of Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack in Crumb Cake. So Saffron card stock was used for card back.

Stampin' Up! Happy Forest Friends DSP without wrap
Stampin' Up! Happy Forest Friends DSP, no wrap, inside

Here again, the show-off is the Happy Forest Friends DSP, but without folding it back on itself.. & it shows off the back of the DSP when opening the card. So Saffron for the card back & Soft Suede for the sentiment banner + the Essential Tag Punch. Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the tag. These are such fun cards to have on hand to add sentiments to when needed. And here’s how to do cards 1 & 2.

  • Cut DSP 5 1/2 x 6, score on long side (with scene right side up) @ 1/2 on left and 4 1/2 on right end. Burnish. TIP: this creates a card front 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and is best with any DSP that has a ‘scene’.
  • Add card back (4 3/16 x 5 1/2) to 1/2 end of DSP. Best way to do this is to add adhesive to the 1/2″ end of DSP (inside) & slip card back in the fold and close the card front.
  • Add the two 1/2″ strips to inside of the right end of the DSP
  • Add adhesive to back of strips & back of DSP on right end and fold to front on burnish. This shows the back side of the DSP which coordinates so well with the card front. When opening the card, the ‘back’ of the DSP adds a great pattern for the inside of the card.
  • Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 added to card for writing. A 1/2″ strip of the DSP was added to further show the DSP

Card 3 was even simpler, with the entire card front showing the DSP without it folding back on itself. I still used the same DSP size 5 1/2 x 6 and scored @ 1 1/4, making certain when scoring the ‘scene’ is right side up šŸ˜€And the card back was So Saffron 4 3/16 x 5 1/2.

Here are the three cards with envelopes – great variety with same basic template. Love how the ‘scene’ of the DSP is the primary focus – at least in the last two cards. This does show you how to give variety to a basic layout. To see another card with this same layout, please look here.

Stampin’ Up! Rhino Ready & Radiating Stitched Dies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome, welcome… to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We have a fun sketch challenge today to get our creative juices flowing. It will be fun to see what the others on the team share.

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop
Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge 3/16/23
Stampin' Up! Rhino Ready & Radiating Stitched Dies

Here’s my card. These Ready Rhinos bundle are just too cute ~ I just HAD to make another card with them. And this is my first play with the Radiating Stitched Dies and I’m really liking them too. Both of these are part of the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES found on the online store. You may find that link here. But let’s get back to the card… The card base is Mossy Meadow cut as an A2 tent fold. The largest of the Radiating Stitched Dies was used to die cut Happy Forest Friends DSP and was adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Seal. The next to largest of the Radiating Stitched Dies was used to die cut the Sahara Sand layer and that was added to the card front with dimensionals. The rhino was stamped in Memento ink on a Basic White scrap, then colored with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. Be sure to leave a little white areas for depth :O) The rhino was die cut with the Rhino Ready Dies. To die cut the leaves, I looked for a green DSP that had some variation to it and found it in the Hues of Happiness DSP pack – so… die cut 4 palm leaves, two small & two larger using the Rhino Ready Dies. I also stamped the sentiment in Memento ink on another Basic White scrap (sentiment is from Rhino Ready stamp set) and die cut that with a banner die from the Gingko Branch Dies.

I put dimensionals on the ends of the sentiment banner & Stampin’ Seal in between and placed it on the card. I added the rhino with dimensionals only on his right side, then slipped the palm leaves under the rhino, adding with liquid glue. My final touch for the card front was placing the three Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls for a bit of glam.

Stampin' Up! Rhino Ready & Radiating Stitched Dies, inside

I have to say, I really like the inside of this card. Maybe it’s the texture per the Radiating Stitched Dies. Here’s what I did… I used the largest of the Radiating Stitched Dies to die cut a panel of Old Olive card stock, then die cut with the next smaller Radiating Stitched Die a panel of Basic White. I adhered the remaining palm leaf die cut earlier from the Rhino Ready Dies, with liquid glue. I then stamped the birthday sentiment using the Rhino Ready stamp with Memento ink. Both the Old Olive panel and the Basic White piece were adhered with Stampin’ Seal and the card was complete.

Stampin' Up! Rhino Ready and Radiating Stitched Dies card & envelope

For the envelope I simply added a panel of the Happy Forest Friends DSP to the flap and called it enough. Love the Rhino Ready Bundle and the Radiating Stitched Dies – both from the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES. All other items to make this card are in a catalog. Everything is listed below when you are ready to purchase.

Now it is time to hop on to Carol and see what she has created… or click on a name to take you to another blog. Whatever you do, enjoy the hop!

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop
Stampin' Up! Blog Hop Color Challenge
Stampin' Up! Sentimental Park Gatefold. hop 3/9

The only color missing in this Designer Series Paper is Coastal Cabana ~ and the paper is called Regency Park 6×6 DSP. I’ve used Petal Pink as my card base with Night of Navy on each of the side panels under the Designer Series Paper. The focal point is the decoration on the belly band. I first die cut the larger piece in Night of Navy, then die cut several flowers: Night of Navy, Basic White and a single Petal Pink. Once I adhered the small flowers to the Night of Navy , I die cut a Basic White piece to add the sentiment. The sentiment comes from Sentimental Park stamp set and is stamped in Night of Navy ink. I adhered this piece to the Night of Navy decorated piece with Stampin’ Seal, slipping it under the flowers. It worked perfectly. I then added a bow with the Bordered Ribbon, which is Night of Navy. After making the bow I trimmed down the center of the ribbon so that it looked softer. I adhered this to the sentiment panel with a glue dot.

Back to the card base… cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, I score on the long side at 2 1/8, then fold the opposite side over to meet it. Sometimes when I score each long side at 2 1/8, there is a gap, and I didn’t want that. Night of Navy panels were added to each small panel, then a piece of the Regency Park was adhered over that. Because the belly band is the show piece on this card, I completed that by wrapping a 1 x 9 1/2 strip of Night of Navy around the card, overlapping in front and securing the ends together with Stampin’ Seal. I added the decorated sentiment banner to the front (right on the 1″ strip) with Stampin’ Seal. I removed the completed belly band to finish the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Sentimental Park belly band

For the inside, I added more pieces of the Regency Park DSP showing off a Balmy Blue design.on each panel. For the center panel I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink – still from the Sentimental Park stamp set. Then I stamped the flower ‘bouquet’ in Petal Pink ink in two places, surrounding the sentiment. The ‘bouquet’ is also park of the Sentimental Park stamp set. I adhered the Basic White panel to the center of the inside and the card was done.

Stampin' Up! Sentimental Park gatefold card inside

For the envelope… more of the same design of Regency Park 6×6 DSP as on the card front for the flap, trimmed tom fit. Across the front I adhered a strip of the Regency Park 6×6 DSP pattern in Balmy Blue to coordinate perfectly with the card.

Stampin' Up! Sentimental Park Gatefold card & envelope

I love how this turned out – the contrasts in color compliment each other nicely and show off the banner too.

Stampin’ Up! Butterflies & Designer Tags Dies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hello, hello. Golly, it’s Thursday already and nearing the end of February – yikes! We have a fun theme challenge today… Welcome to the hop… you may have come from the creative Tara Carpenter or simply popped in here. Enjoy the hop!

Stampin' Up Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop Theme Challenge
Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

I’ve chosen to use butterflies on my card today, using the die from Designer Tags Dies and the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper. I’ve also used Hues of Happiness DSP with lots of wonderful colors to bring it all together. And layers… a piece of Basic White run through the Stripes 3D embossing folder (from Stripes & Splashes 3D set) and a strip of scallops from the Penned Flowers Dies and a leafy spray from the Dainty Delight Dies (trimmed to use a long piece on top and the shorter end at the bottom under the scallop… and lets not forget the Stylish Shapes Dies for the circles. So I pulled from a lot of different places and love the finished look.

Stampin' Up! Butterflies & Designer Tags Dies.1

For embellishment I used Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems in Gorgeous Grape. One of the wonderful things about nature is color – lots of it and lots of shades of one color or another. You can see that in the Hues of Happiness DSP.The front sentiment comes from Happiness Abounds stamp set that coordinates with the DSP. It’s a general greeting and this card could easily be used for birthday, to a sympathy card. I fussy cut the sentiment by the way, after stamping it in Orchid Oasis ink.

Stampin' Up! Butterflies & Designer Tags Dies.2

For the inside, really simple… a 1/2″ strip of the same Hues of Happiness DSP adhered near the bottom.

Stampin' Up! Butterflies & Designer Tags Dies.3

Goodness, this photo is ever so dark! Again, I kept the envelope quite simple with a strip of Hues of Happiness DSP on the flap trimmed to fit.

And now – time to visit the next person on the hop, Carol Buckelew. Carol always has something fab to share. Click on the ‘next’ button or click on a name to hop around. Whatever you do – make the entire trip around – & enjoy.

Stampin’ UP! Scenic Garden, Sale-a-bration HOST Set

I finally pulled out my Scenic Garden stamp set ~ it’s a Sale-a-bration HOST set that I had fun playing. This particular stamp is right up my ally – I’m a gardener, I keep playing in the dirt. Of course, here in the Northeast, it’s not quite time yet to do much in the garden, but bulbs are beginning to pop out of the ground. So here’s my card…

Stampin' UP! Scenic Garden - HOST.1

Love these pots stacked upon one another! Wish I were better at coloring them. So here’s how I did this… I stamped this in Memento ink on a Basic White piece then colored it with Stampin’ Blends: Cajun Craze for the pots and a bit of Color Lifter to create a highlight; Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, a bit of Starry Sky & Orchid Oasis. Once colored I die cut the desired size with the third smallest of the Deckled Rectangle Dies. Then I created a mask for the bottom of the pots… with Stampin’ Up! Masking Paper: stamp on the Masking Paper, cut out the image, remove the backing & place it over the stamped image. It looked like this…

Stampin' Up! Scenic Garden with mask

The white part on the bottom pot is the mask – pretty cool, huh? I wanted to have the pots look as though they were sitting on rocks. I laid this small white panel on another Basic White that would go on the card front; stamped the stones in Memento ink then colored the stones with Gray Granite Blends.. I adhered a Basic Black panel to the small front panel then used my small Blending Brush & Gray Granite ink to add color around the stones, as if there was a path. I removed the mask & adhered this panel in place. In retrospect I should have run the larger piece through a Brick Embossing Folder – I think that would make a very cool backdrop. But I didn’t… and the white panel needed something. So butterflies – but not very big ones. I pulled out my Brilliant Wings Dies and found these two which seem the perfect size. I die cut these from 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper in Orchid Oasis. Then I sprinkled in a few Brushed Metallic Butterflies and liked the combination. The sentiment comes from Charming Sentiments stamp set and it’s stamped in Memento ink on a scrap, backed with Basic Black and adhered to the card front. The Basic White panel is adhered to Basic Black then to Daffodil Delight, put on dimensionals and attached to the Thick Basic White card base.

Stampin' Up! Scenic Garden, inside

For the inside I stamped these wild flowers in Memento ink then colored with Orchid Oasis & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends and attached the panel to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Scenic Garden card w/ envelope

For the envelope, I stamped the same flowers as the inside, but colored them in Daffodil Delight Blends, leaves are Old Olive. I’m not real happy with this card… guess I’ll need to do it again at some point, it’s just too plain. AARGH. Oh well. I do love the stamps.

Stampin’ Up! Beautifully Happy and Framed Florets Dies 3 Ways

Good Monday Morning! It’s President’s Day today. I do remember celebrating President’s Day as a youngster… and found it fascinating how the president’s accomplished what they did. Today, not so much – I’m not even going to go there. Let’s change the subject, shall we?

I have three cards for you today, all using the Beautifully Happy stamp set that is FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order. And that freebie ends at end of day February 28. If you want this stamp set, now’s the time… do not wait, do not hesitate šŸ˜€

Stampin' Up! Beautifully Happy e Ways.1

All the cards are first stamped in Soft Suede ink and colored with Flirty Flamingo & stamped off Old Olive. I have used the same process for each envelope, changing out the bouquet for a single flower. The stamped floral pattern is also fussy cut in all the cards. On this first card, an additional bloom was fussy cut & added with a dab of liquid glue. Each of the stamped floral bouquets is added to the card front with dimensionals.

Card #1: This card uses Playing In the Rain DSP that was die cut with the Framed Florets Dies, added to a Basic White panel slightly larger then added to a thick Basic White card base.A leaf spray and a single leaf were added, die cut with more dies from the Framed Florets Dies. Adhesive-Backed Milky Dot were added: a Mango Melody for the flower center and four White. A Linen Thread bow was tied around the stem and secured with a glue dot.

Stampin' Up! Beautifully Happy 3 Ways.2

Card #2: This card began by die cutting a panel of Basic White with the Split Card Textures Dies, and adhering that to a smaller panel of Dandy Designs DSP, then adding it to the card front with dimesnionals. This DSP is also FREE with a $100 order during Sale-a-bration. Two leaf sprays were die cut with the Framed Florets Dies and added with liquid glue, then the floral bouquet added with dimensionals. Again, an Adhesive-Backed Milky Dot was added to the center flower, in Mango Melody. Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Petal Pink, were added for glam, and a Linen Thread bow was added with a glue dot.

Stampin' Up! Beautifully Happy 3 Ways.3

Card #3: This card began with a Basic White panel being run through the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder and added directly to the Thick Basic White card base. Another die from Framed Florets was used to make the larger, more intricate die cut. A left over die cut oval from Playing in The Rain was added after placing the plain oval die cut in the center. This created a perfect frame for this card. Two additional leaf sprays were die cut from Basic White and a couple of the small leaves – all with the Framed Florets Dies. Three Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots were added plus a Linen Thread bow.

None of these cards has a sentiment on them, which means they can be used for any purpose necessary. A sentiment could have been added, but I really thought it would detract from the beautiful design.

For the inside of the card, I kept the design really simple for all three cards. A single flower stamped & colored the same as the envelope: Soft Suede for the outline, Flirty Flamingo for the flower, stamped off Old Olive for the leaves and a bit of Mango Melody for the stamped center.

Stampin' Up! Beautifully Happy 3 ways.inside

I absolutely love these cards, and of course, the DSP could be changed out and the flowers colored to coordinate and it would look totally different. Such a breath of fresh air!
