Stampin’ Up! Birthday w/ True Love DSP

Spring is generally a riot of color with flowers from every corner of the world. Today I chose to use True Love DSP from the Jan-Jun Mini Catalog – cuz it’s beautiful and I had a piece already colored on my table :)… sly fox that I am. This was a leftover piece from a previous project and I was determined to use it. The flowers were colored mostly in Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends with a bit of Gorgeous Grape for shadows now & then. The leaves were colored with Old Olive and Garden Green Stampin’ Blends. The centers got touches of Daffodil Delight. This began as a 3″ square and I cut it in equal portions in both directions, then mounted it on a piece of So Saffron Card stock with liquid glue. I wrapped the White Crinkled Seam Binding around and tied a bow, which I secured with a glue dot. I put dimensional on the back and added this to a Basic Black panel.

Birthday w/ True Love DSP – #1

My card base is a Basic White Thick card stock with the front covered in Subtles 6×6 DSP from the 21-22 Annual Catalog. I adhered the square panel with liquid glue to the front of the card. For the sentiment I used the Peaceful Moments stamp set stamped on a Basic White scrap in Memento Black ink and die cut it with one of the All Dressed Up dies. I put dimensionals on the back andf added it to the front of the card. My final touch was the beautiful Pastel Pearl ~ and the card front was done.

Birthday – #2

For the inside of the card, I stamped another sentiment from the Peaceefgul Moments stamp set in Memento Black ink on a panel of Basic White card stock. I adhered this to a slightly larger panel of So Saffron card stock then into the card ~ and the card was complete.

Birthday w/ True Love DSP – #3

For the envelope I used the same pattern from the Subtles 6×6 DSP from the 21-22 Annual catalog and adhered it to the envelope flap. I did no further decorating on the envelope.

Stampin’ Up! Dandy Garden Double Fold

Helloooo. Did you have fun shopping with Stampin’ Up! during FREE SHIPPING day? I certainly did :O) Today’s card is all about Spring – and I love the color combination. It uses items from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack & other items as well. Shall we take a peek? Just so ya know, I haven’t done this fold before. It wasn’t tricky or anything – and may be called something else. All right – let’s take a look.

Dandy Garden Double Fold – #1

You can see why I called it a double fold – there are two parts to it. As I mentioned earlier, I used several elements from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack… the circle on which I stamped on the front, the dragonfly, and the starburst yellow paper. The Vellum dragonflies were from a project some time ago – leftovers and saved in the stamp case.

The basic needs:

  • Seaside Spray card base 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
  • Basic White card stock 4 x 5 1/4 (2)
  • Bumblebee card stock 3 1/4 x 4 1/4
  • 2019-2021 In Color 6×6 DSP 3 1/2″ square cut in half on the diagonal and scored on the long side at 1/2″

The how to:

  • Stamp a Basic White panel with Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Memento Black ink. Stamp the sentiment from the Best Year stamp set – also in Memento Black ink. Lightly color the flowers with Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. Color the leaves with Just Jade Stampin’ Blends. Adhere three Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins .
  • Fold under the scored edge on the 6×6 DSP triangle. Adhere to the top & bottom of the Basic White panel with liquid glue. Trim the ends that overlap.
  • Adhere the starburst panel (from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack) to Bumblebee card stock with liquid glue. Adhere this to the triangle – at the top only.
  • Stamp the circle (from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack) using the Garden Wishes stamp set and Memento Black ink. Color with Stampin’ Blends: Just Jade for the leaves & stems; Mango Melody for the flowers. Put dimensionals on the back of the circle and adhere to the card front, centering. Adhere the laser-cut dragonfly (yep – from the card pack!) with liquid glue along the body. Attache the small vellum dragonflies with a single mini dimensional for each.
  • Adhere this entire panel to the Seaside Spray card base on the front. This completes the first portion of the card.
Dandy Garden Double Fold – #2

The inside:

  • Stamp the sentiment on a Basic White panel in Memento Black ink.
  • Adhere a 1/2 x 4 strip of the 2019-2021 In Color 6×6 DSP near the bottom.
  • Adhere this panel to the inside of the card and voila!
Dandy Garden Double Fold – #3

For the envelope:

  • Adhere a sweet bumblebee sticker from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack to the front of the envelope.
  • Adhere a panel of 2019-2021 In Color 6×6 DSP to the envelope flap, trim and the card is DONE!
Dandy Garden Double Fold – #4

Stampin’ Up! Art Gallery

Hello folks… Stampin’ Up is readying for a new catalog ~ the Jan-Jun 2021 Mini Catalog and the Jan-Feb Sale-a-bration. Today’s project features Art Gallery stamp set & coordinating dies, Floral Gallery Dies. Here’s a picture of both.

This is a two-step stamp set as you might realize from the florals at the top of the set. And I’ll confess, I haven’t played with the floral stamps – yet… I had an in-person class yesterday and my new products arrived l-a-t-e the night before. Sooo – what I DID DO is create this fun card using the large sentiment in the dies.

Floral Gallery Dies #1

I also used two fun Designer Series Papers that will be free with a $50 purchase during Jan-Feb. (more on that later) The first is Oh So Ombre 6×6 DSP – the Blackberry Bliss & Bermuda papers you see here. And notice how they fade to lighter shade? That’s the ombre 😏 The floral paper is called Flower & Field DSP, again free with a $50 purchased in Jan-Feb.

OK, enough about the papers – the sentiment comes from the Art
Gallery stamp set
and that fun Granny Apple Green die cut is also from this set of the Floral Gallery Dies. Aren’t those edges fun? They look as though they came from a movie ticket or something. And here’s what is left after the sentiment is die cut… which of course can be used on another card.

Floral Gallery Dies #2

Let’s talk the new catalogs for a minute – the Jan-Jun 2021 Mini Catalog and Sale-a-bration catalogs will be available for you to see in early December with ordering beginning Jan 3. If you have been a customer of mine this past year I will be sending (or giving if you are local) those catalogs as soon as I am able to get them. And just for clarity… the Sale-a-bration catalog shows free products available with purchases of $50 and $100, so two levels of free items. And these are available Jan-Feb only. Hope that helps.

Thanks for stopping by.

May you have a beautiful day.

Happy Birthday To You!

What fun it is to have birthdays! Just last week I celebrated a BIG ONE… but hey, it’s only numbers 😉 So today’s card is not a birthday, but an anniversary card using the Happy Birthday To You stamp set. Pretty cool, right? Gotcha!

Here’s the card…

Coloring is so relaxing for me. Have I said that before? Here it’s Petal Pink light and dark blends for the flowers and Mint Macaron light and dark blends for the leaves. I have found it helpful to do the dark first, just a small area at a time, then do the light to blend it in nicely.

The cake was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Silver Embossing powder. I used the Smokey Slate blend to shade some of lines on the cake for emphasis. The cake stand was colored with the Petal Pink blends also. After cutting out with the matching Birthday dies I put dimensionals on the back and set it aside.

The Smokey Slate card stock piece was cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I put dimensionals on the back of it as well.

Silver thread is a messy business for me – it’s thin and light and slippery as the dickens. However, I have learned to control it just a bit  by wrapping it around my fingers, first a couple of times around two fingers then a couple of times around three fingers, then cut, twist and adhere to the back of the cake with glue dots. I did that twice. Adhere cake and Silver thread to the Smokey Slate piece.

The next layer is Petal Pink (2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″) that has been dry embossed with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder. Pretty cool isn’t it? Remember to spritz it lightly with water prior to sending it through the die cutting/ embossing machine. This gives wonderfully deep impressions. Adhere the Petal Pink to a Thick Whisper White card base (4 1/4″ x 11″). Attach the Smokey Slate and you’re almost done with the front. The key here is the Rhinestone Basic Jewels – they add the crowing touch!

The inside…  Stamp the sentiment of choice on a scrap of Whisper White. Here I used the happy from Happy Birthday To You stamp set and the anniversary from the Well Said stamp set. They were stamped in Versamark ink then heat embossed with Silver Embossing powder. I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut both a Whisper White and a Smokey Slate piece and adhered with liquid glue to a Whisper White (4″ x 5 1/4″). This was adhered with liquid glue to a Petal Pink (4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″) and all adhered to the card base with liquid glue. Inside… done!

Now for the envelope.. First I stamped the sentiment from Happy Birthday To You in Smokey Slate. Next I dry emboseed a 2 1/4″ x 6″ Smokey Slate with the Parisian Flourish #D embossing folder and adhered that with liquid glue, did a neat trim and voila!

Drapery Fold, Thoughtful Blooms, Small Bloom Punch and More

This card was created with the drapery fold technique – so easy and really shows off the Designer Series Paper and how it is double-sided :o)

How to… DSP of choice… here I used Woven Threads from the Annual Catalogue. It is cut at 4″ x 11 1/2″, then trimmed from the bottom left edge up to 1″ from the top of the right side. Got it? Then score beginning on the longest side at 3″, 4″, 6″, 7″, 9″, 10″. Fold this in an accordian style. Adhere this to a Whisper White piece cut at 4′ x 5 1/4″.

The rest of the card…
* Cardstock base is Terracotta Tile: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
* Layer Purple Posy: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ (cut 2 of these, one for the inside)
* Layer the accordian piece that was adhered to Whisper White cs to the Purple Posy.
* Punch several small blooms using the Small Bloom Punch (item 152316 from the sale-a-bration catalogue. It’s a free item with the appropriate purchase!)
* Curl the flowers slightly and adhere two together using Tombow glue. Using glue dots, adhere the flowers to the card randomly placing for a pleasing “show”. Add a 2020-21 In Color Faceted Dot (item 149607) to the center of each flower. I used Purple Posy.
*Stamp the sentiment (from Happy Birthday To You stamp set, also from the Sale-a bration cattie and also a free item with the appropriate purchase) onto a Whisper White scrap with Terrracotta Tile ink and fussy cut. Adhere with mini dimensionals.
* Add smaller faceted gems as you desire to complete the look. I used three.YAY! Your Card front is complete!

Card inside…
* Using the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set (item 152290 from the sale-a-bration cattie and a free item with the appropriate purchase), stamp the leaves in Pretty Peacock, stamping off once on scrap first, on a Whisper White cs pice cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″. I stamped it in the center of the card.
* Adhere to a Purple Posy piece cut at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ as noted above.
* Using one of the flowers in the stamp set, ink with Terracotta Tile, stamping off once and then stamping in the center of the leaves.
* Using a glue dot, adhere a small Purple Posy faceted dot to the center of this flower. Inside done!

Complete this beauty by decorating the envelope: Designer Series Paper for the envelope flap of course, and several stamped flowers in Terracottta Tile ink for the front. Now look at this lovely creation and admire your handiwork. Send to a friend who needs a “pick-me-up”.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. The Jan-to Jun Mini Catalogue is in full swing. And then… the NEW ANNUAL Catalogue will be available. Hugs everyone. Happy crafting – enjoy what you do!

It’s Sailing Season – Here’s to Wind in Your Sails

The theme for this month’s blog hop is to create a card that has a masculine theme and we just worked on our Bull’s Eye sailboat to prepare it for summer sailing ~ what fun timing. The Sailing Home stamp set from the new 2019-20 annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue seemed a perfect starting point for creating this card for my hubby’s June birthday.

Here are some details of this fun fold card:

  • Pacific Point card stock cut to 8 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and scored at 2 3/4″
  • Whisper White card stock: 3 5/8″ x 7″ + a piece for the largest circle die in the Stitched Shape die set.
  • Garden Impressions DSSP (designer series paper) cut in 3 3/8 square + inside piece 1 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.
  • Come Sail Away DSP (from the 2019-20 SU! Annual catalogue) cut to 4 x 2 1/2″ x 4″ + a piece for the envelope flat 2 1/4″ x 6 (trim away excess after gluing to flap).
  • Other items needed: mini dimensionals, Night of Navy/ Sahara Sand twine (from the new catty), Sailing Home stamp set, Smooth sailing dies, Night of Navy and Pacific Point inks, glue dot to hold the twine in place.

Country Floral embossing folder

The Country Floral embossing folder from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue is gorgeous!  I wasn’t going to get it, but all the posts showed these beautiful images and I couldn’t resist.

Today’s card is prepared using Petal Pink card stock (CS). The embossed layer is 4 X 5 1/4… spritz the paper first as this folder makes deep impressions and the spritzing allows the CS some “give” to accept those more easily. After embossing, allow to dry for just a bit. Then with Petal Pink ink and a sponge dauber, rub that color over the raised areas ~ love how gentle this coloring is and how it enhances the embossed design. Glue this piece to Petal Pink 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 CS.  Using the whisper white flax ribbon cut at about 6 1/2″ and wrap this around both pieces, adhering in back with glue dots. Then cut a piece of the whisper white polka dot ribbon at about 7″, placing this on top of the flax ribbon, using tape to adhere it on the back. Using the Pretty Label punch, create a label out of whisper white; rub the edges with Petal Pink, add your sentiment (I used one of my favorites from Perennial Birthday); add dimensionals and place on ribbon.  Using another short piece of the polka dot ribbon, tie a knot. Viola!  Attach all of this to the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Petal Pink CS with dimensionals.  Card front is done :o) On the inside adhere a piece of whisper white cut at 3 3/4 x 5 with your favorite sentiment.

For the envelope flap, I embossed another piece of Petal Pink CS cut at 2 1/4 x 6, glued it to the flap and bingo, the card is ready.  Fun, easy, and lovely.
