Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Garden & Dandy Wishes Memories & More

Oh the Dandy Wishes Memories & More cards & envelopes are just really, really nice. And of course retiring May 3. They are a larger size and really easy. I haver chosen to add Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP for additional colors & layers and have included a new fun die called Tailor Made Tags Dies.

Dragonfly Garden & Dandy Wishes Memories & More – #1

As you can see I added two background papers from the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP, then this sweet tag. I stamped a panel of Basic White card stock with this fun bouquet from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Memento Black ink. I then colored some of the leavers & flowers with Watercolor Pencils: Garden Green, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry. I die cut it with the new Tailor Made Tags Dies and added a Magenta Madness ribbon tied with linen thread. I popped this on the two layers with dimensionals and the card front was complete.

For the inside i added another of the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP. Then on a Basic White panel, I stamped the sentiment from Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Memento Black ink. I then stamped the dragonfly clusters also in Memento Black ink then took my Rich Razzleberrry Watercolor Pencil and colored some of the dragonflies. I used my Blending Brush to smooth the lines, adhered the panel to the inside and voila – done & dusted as they say.

Dragonfly Garden & Dandy Garden Memories & More – #3

No need to decorate the envelope as it’s done for us! You could color it but I chose not to.

Stampin’ Up! Dandy Garden Double Fold

Helloooo. Did you have fun shopping with Stampin’ Up! during FREE SHIPPING day? I certainly did :O) Today’s card is all about Spring – and I love the color combination. It uses items from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack & other items as well. Shall we take a peek? Just so ya know, I haven’t done this fold before. It wasn’t tricky or anything – and may be called something else. All right – let’s take a look.

Dandy Garden Double Fold – #1

You can see why I called it a double fold – there are two parts to it. As I mentioned earlier, I used several elements from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack… the circle on which I stamped on the front, the dragonfly, and the starburst yellow paper. The Vellum dragonflies were from a project some time ago – leftovers and saved in the stamp case.

The basic needs:

  • Seaside Spray card base 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
  • Basic White card stock 4 x 5 1/4 (2)
  • Bumblebee card stock 3 1/4 x 4 1/4
  • 2019-2021 In Color 6×6 DSP 3 1/2″ square cut in half on the diagonal and scored on the long side at 1/2″

The how to:

  • Stamp a Basic White panel with Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Memento Black ink. Stamp the sentiment from the Best Year stamp set – also in Memento Black ink. Lightly color the flowers with Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. Color the leaves with Just Jade Stampin’ Blends. Adhere three Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins .
  • Fold under the scored edge on the 6×6 DSP triangle. Adhere to the top & bottom of the Basic White panel with liquid glue. Trim the ends that overlap.
  • Adhere the starburst panel (from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack) to Bumblebee card stock with liquid glue. Adhere this to the triangle – at the top only.
  • Stamp the circle (from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack) using the Garden Wishes stamp set and Memento Black ink. Color with Stampin’ Blends: Just Jade for the leaves & stems; Mango Melody for the flowers. Put dimensionals on the back of the circle and adhere to the card front, centering. Adhere the laser-cut dragonfly (yep – from the card pack!) with liquid glue along the body. Attache the small vellum dragonflies with a single mini dimensional for each.
  • Adhere this entire panel to the Seaside Spray card base on the front. This completes the first portion of the card.
Dandy Garden Double Fold – #2

The inside:

  • Stamp the sentiment on a Basic White panel in Memento Black ink.
  • Adhere a 1/2 x 4 strip of the 2019-2021 In Color 6×6 DSP near the bottom.
  • Adhere this panel to the inside of the card and voila!
Dandy Garden Double Fold – #3

For the envelope:

  • Adhere a sweet bumblebee sticker from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Card Pack to the front of the envelope.
  • Adhere a panel of 2019-2021 In Color 6×6 DSP to the envelope flap, trim and the card is DONE!
Dandy Garden Double Fold – #4

Stampin’ Up! Bookmarks for Class

Do you like to read? I DO… and sometimes have more than one book going at a time. I say this ‘cuz bookmarks are incredibly important to have 🙂 I have a class today – it’s a small group but I like to give them something now & then. It’s inspirational for them and everyone likes a gift. So here they are… all using the, what else, Butterfly Brilliance Bundle. It is available now and will be in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I have also used the Dragonfly Garden stamp set for the flower bouquet and sentiment.

These were such a fun, quick project and inspired by my upline Mary Deatherage as part of our zoom Team Meeting on Sunday. Each bookmark uses the very same components: Butterfly Bijou 6×6 DSP, Brilliant Wings Dies to die cut the butterflies from the DSP, Vellum for the detail die from the same die set and finally Dragonfly Garden stamp set for the beautiful stamped bundle of wild flowers and the sentiment. The final element is the use of the Tag Topper Punch. What’s different is the ribbon, markers for coloring and ink used.

Inks, coloring and ribbons coordinate with each butterfly die cut. The two bookmarks on the left were stamped in ‘stamped off’ Basic Gray ink. Ribbons used were Terracotta Tile from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack and Magenta Madness, a 20-22 In Color Ribbon. I used Calypso Coral markers to lightly color the top flowers and Calypso Coral ink for the sentiment from Dragonfly Garden stamp set for the bookmark on the far left. With the Magenta Madness ribbon, I used the same color markers and ink for the sentiment.

The two bookmarks on the right were stamped with ‘stamped off’ Just Jade ink for the wild flowers. Misty Moonlight Ribbon and ink for the sentiment but the flowers were colored with So Saffron marker and a hint of Crushed Curvy for the flower centers. The far right bookmark uses Just Jade for the ribbon and same color of ink for the sentiment. The flowers were colored the same as the prior flowers.

I used the white twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack for tying the ribbons together. I love these bookmarks and hope you do as well. They shout HOPE to me; hope for what is to come in new growth and new beginnings.

Below is a product list of items used in today’s project. They come from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog as well as the 2021 Product Premier Butterfly Brilliance Collection, part of which will be in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog (stamp set & dies)~ and those products are available now for purchase. You will find them in the product list below. As a reminder… I’ve made it easy for you to simply ‘add all to cart’. If I can help you in any way to order these items, or others, please give me a holler. As a thank you to my customers, when the order is between $50-$150 I offer a SU! item of your choice valued at $10. Remember to use MY CURRENT HOST CODE – XTK4JNGQ– good Mar 16 – 31. Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Pop-Up

Hello again – Monday madness? Try doing something creative and fun… that will get the juices flowing and you feeling less frantic. At least, that’s my theory – and I’m stickin’ to it. 😏 Todays card was inspired by the Paper Players Challenge #523 – use Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee & Misty Moonlight with a neutral thrown in somewhere. So here’s what I did…

Dragonfly Pop-up – #1

The challenge brought to mind of the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP with all the dragonflies and colors – well, it just FIT for me… AND I have wanted to do this fun pop-up, so… I pulled the Dragonfly Garden bundle and began creating.

  • Punch a few dragonflies using the Dragonfly Punch from one of the papers in the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP
  • Cover the punched dragonflies with Wink of Stella. I did the body as well as the wings, and like the look for this card
  • Adhere a panel of the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP to a slightly larger piece of Bumblebee card stock with liquid glue. Cover the dragonflies with Wink of Stella for extra glam.
  • Put dimensionals on the back and attach to a Misty Moonlight card base
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Misty moonlight ink on Smoky Slate strip. Trim the right end at an angle.
  • Adhere a larger strip of Bumblebee card stock (but slightly shorter than the Smokey Slate strip) even with the Bumblebee panel. Now adhere the Smoky Slate panel making it even with the DSP panel – all done with liquid glue
  • Add dimensionals to one of the dragonflies and adhere at end of the sentiment strip and the front of the card is complete.
Dragonfly Pop-Up – #2

Here’s where the fun fold is, and oh so easy to do.

  • Cut a panel of Basic White 4 3/4 x 7 3/4; fold in half . Along the center, mark down from the top 2 1/2″
  • On the long side and the top, make a mark 2″ from each end. Scor from the 2 1/2″ mark to the 2″ mark, making a ‘V’. Fold the center IN and burnish. Burnish the ‘V’ folds as well. Burnish the lower portion of the center of the panel.
  • Adhere to card base, pushing the folds of the Basic White against the fold of the Misty Moonlight. Adhere only one side at a time!!!
  • Decorate with dragonflies.

When finished the inside will look like this…

Dragonfly Pop-Up, inside – #3

For the envelope… cover the flap with coordinating card stock from the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP. Stamp the dragonfly grouping in Misty Moonlight ink on the front of the envelope. And voila – finis! Wasn’t that fun? And a beautiful card to boot. After creating, don’t you feel better???

Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Anniversary

How are you doing with your Christmas shopping? Odd doing most of it online – at least for me it is. I like to touch and see in person and that just isn’t possible right now. Let’s say, it isn’t like it was ~ and leave it at that. And mailing everything ~ well it’s done. I love the excitement and joy, the being together and am going to miss that terribly. With the vaccine coming out, I’m hopeful. So… on with it.

The Dragonfly Garden Bundle is so versatile and friends of ours have a 70th anniversary in a few days – I couldn’t resist using the bundle to create this card.

Dragonfly Anniversary ~ #1

What do you think? The large dragonfly is created by stamping on vellum and coloring from the back side with Stampin’ Blends. I really like how it turned out. And the little one ~that was a new process that will take some practice before explaining it. So… let’s get to this card.

Products used:

  • Dragonfly Garden Bundle
  • Subtle 3D Embossing Folder
  • Greenery Embossing Folder
  • Squares Dies
  • Ornate Frames Dies
  • Pearl Basic Jewels

  • Path of Petals stamp set (inside sentiment)
  • Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set (also inside)
  • Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack -Misty Moonlight & Silver
  • Stampin Blends: Lt Bermuda Bay, Dk Night of Navy, Rich Razzleberry

Ok – the how to… stamp the dragonfly from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Vellum. Allow to dry or you may heat set gently. You don’t want to burn the paper or make it warp from the heat. Once dry, turn the vellum over and color using the Stampin Blends. I used the Light Bermuda Bay then the Dark Night of Navy, followed by Rich Razzleberry. Dragonflies often appear irridescent to me and I was aiming for that look. The body is Dark Night of Navy. Again, making sure it was dry, I punched it with the Dragonfly Punch, put a dimensional on it and set it aside.

I die cut this Whisper White scalloped edge with the largest of the Squares Dies, then ran it through my Greenery Embossing Folder. I definitely wanted the dragonflies hovering over a field of something and I didn’t want a solid look – I wanted some white space. Next I adhered this panel to a square of Rich Razzleberry card stock. I adhered the large dragonfly – remember he’s on a dimensional, then added the small dragonfly with just a dot of liquid glue – and set this panel aside.

I ran a piece of Whisper White card stock through the Subtle Embossing Folder and adhered it to a Thick Whisper White card base with liquid glue. I took the Rich Razzleberry panel, put dimernsionals on the back and adhered it to the card.

Next I took a scrap of Whisper White card stock, stamped the sentiment from Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and die cut it with one of the dies from Ornate Frames Dies. I took a length of the Misty Moonlight/ Silver bakers Twine and tied it through the created hole and made a bow. This also got dimensionals and I adhered off-set on the front of the card.

For the inside, I stamped the longer sentiment using the Path of Petals stamp set on Whisper White card stock with Tuxedo Black memento ink. Then I stamped the shorter sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White card stock in the same ink but using the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. I die cut it with one of the Ornate Frames Dies and added it to the card with liquid glue. I added a Pearl Basic Jewel at each end. This Whisper White panel was adhered to a slightly larger piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock with liquid glue and that was added to the inside of the card and voila – card complete!

For the envelope, I kept it very simple. I ran a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock through the Subtle Embossing Folder and adhered it to the envelope flap with liquid glue & trimmed to fit ~ and that was it.
