Stampin’ Up! Sentimental Wishes in Elegant Mode

Good Friday morning! We had a team meeting recently and the Sentimental Wishes bundle was used for three presentations. This card is elegant and stunning.

Stampin' Up! Elegant Sentimental Wishes card front

First of all, I love the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder from the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog. It adds wonderful texture to this card. The Stitched Shapes Dies (circles) feel as though I’m looking through a special window – and I love the Shaded Spruce Satin and Sheer Ribbon bow! Let’s create this together.

  • Cut a Thick Basic White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, score at 4 1/4 and set aside.
  • Cut a Basic White panel 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, place the largest Stitched Shape circle die in the center and die cut. Take this same piece and run it through the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder. Hint: Because this is a linear folder, I tend to use the black line as my guide for making sure the lines are straight and square using this folder.
  • Cut a Cherry Cobbler panel 4 x 5 1/4 and with the next to largest circle in the Stitched Shapes Dies, center the die and die cut. Layer this panel to the back side of the embossed panel with adhesive of choice. Add to the Thick Basic White card front with dimensionals.
  • On Basic White scraps, stamp the candle image and two holly images from Sentimental Wishes stamp set in Memento ink. Color with Stampin’ Blends: flame- Lemon Lolly and Light Pumpkin Pie; holly leaves – Shaded Spruce; berries – Cherry Cobbler; candle shading – Light Gray Granite. Add Wink of Stella to the flame & the dripping wax for a bit of sparkle. Die cut pieces with the Sentimental Wishes Dies.
  • Add holly branches with glue dots and candles w/ holly on dimensionals to the card front circle.
  • Add the bow made from Shaded Spruce Satin & Sheer Ribbon with a glue dot – and the front is complete – elegance personified!

For the inside…

Stampin' Up! Elegant Sentimental Wishes card inside

On the Basic White panel 4 x 5 1/4, stamp the sentiment from Sentimental Wishes stamp set in Memento ink. Stamp the candle image from this set, also in Memento ink. Color as on card front. Adhere this to a Cherry Cobbler panel 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and add to inside of card. Fait accomplis’ – and beautiful!

Stampin' Up! Elegant Sentimental Wishes card & envelope

For the envelope I added a panel of Regals 6×6 DSP to the envelope flap and trimmed to fit. On the front, I stamped the candle image once more in Memento ink and colored as before. Love, love this card! Thank you Karen Ksenzakovich, for your creation and demonstration during our team meeting.

Stampin’ Up! AC Wildflower Suite Fun Fold for Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and you know what that means – a VERY FUN HOP! We have a color challenge today and I’ve chosen to use the Wildly Flowering DSP as my focus and the coordinating suite to highlight this fun fold card.

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop
Stampin' Up! Inkin' Thursday Color Challenge
Stampin' Up! Wildflower Designs Fun Fold card front

This is called a JOY FOLD card – and is two cards in one so to speak. The colors are mostly Wild Wheat, Mossy Meadow and Moody Mauve. This is just gorgeous Designer Series Paper – Wildly Flowering 12 x 12 DSP. And here’s how we put this together…

  • Build your card base first: Wild Wheat 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 scored @ 3
    • Add DSP layers: 4 x 5 1/4 (inside right panel) and 2 3/4 x 4 (inside flap – I embossed this panel in the Dashing Designs 3D EF) and another flower panel on the left front 2 3/4 x 4
    • On the inside front panel, die cut from Wild Wheat the hexagon using the Wildflower Designs Dies; add to panel.
    • Stamp this larger flower on a Basic White scrap in Memento ink using the Wildflower Designs stamp set. Color with Stampin’ Blends Wild Wheat, Moody Mauve and Mossy Meadow. Add to hexagon and embellish with Adhesive-Backed Textured Dots.
  • Create the ‘mini’ card: Crumb Cake 3 x 8 and scored @ 4.
    • Add to card base, centering it on the right card base panel
    • Add DSP to inside right mini card 2 3/4 x 4 and to mini card front 2 3/4 x 4 (embossed with Dashing Designs 3D EF)
    • Decorate mini card front: die cut from Basic White both the scalloped hexagon and the stamped hexagon using the Wildflower Designs Dies. Adhere the scalloped design directly to the mini card front. Stamp the remaining hexagon with Wildflower Designs stamps – the sentiment in Wild Wheat ink and the dots in Crumb Cake ink. Add to mini card front with dimensionals and embellish with Adhesive-Backed Textured Dots, part of this suite of products.
    • To the inside of the mini card… stamp the sentiment on a Basic White panel (2 3/4 x 4) in Crumb Cake ink using the Wildflower Designs stamp set. Add a stamped & die cut flower: stamped with Memento ink and colored with Moody Mauve Stampin’ Blends & die cut with Wildflower Designs Dies.

Stampin' Up! Wildflower Designs fun fold.2

With the card complete… time to decorate the envelope… add another panel of Wildly Flowering DSP 2 1/4 x 6 to the flap and trim to fit. On the front, stamp another of the flowers from the Wildflower Designs stamp set in Memento ink and color with Stampin’ Blends Moody Mauve and Mossy Meadow.

Stampin ‘ Up! Sentimental ChristmasDSP for tthe Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Thursday morning – and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We have a fun sketch challenge today and I’m using Sentimental Christmas DSP for the main focus. Let’s take a look…

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' blog hop
Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Blog hop sketch challenge
Stam[pin' Up! Sentimental Christmas card front

I am so loving the new Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder from the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog! I embossed a Garden Green panel in that Forever Plaid EF (4 1/4 x 5 12) and adhered it to the Garden Green card front (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2). I took a panel of the Sentimental Christmas DSP (3 1/2 x 5) and adhered it to a slightly larger Basic White panel and added it to the card front with dimensionals. I cut a 1 5/8 x 2 5/8 Basic White and added a tree from the Sentimental Christmas DSP that I die cut w/ Peaceful Evergreen Dies. It isn’t an exact match but I thought it worked! I used a Sentimental Christmas DSP scrap 1/2 x 3 to stamp the sentiment in Poppy Parade ink. The sentiment comes from Greetings of the Season stamp set. I angled one end and attached with dimensionals. As a final touch I added three Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints – which have become an all-time favorite!!!

Stampin' Up! Sentimental Christmas card inside

For the inside of the card I added a strip of the Sentimental Christmas DSP to the Basic White panel then some presents that I fussy cut from the Sentimental Christmas DSP. I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green ink using the Sentimental Wishes stamp set. This was adhered to the inside & bingo – the card was complete!

Stampin' Up! Sentimental Christmas DSP card & envelope back
Stampin' Up! Sentimental Christmas card and envelope front

For the envelope… more of the same pattern for both the envelope flap (2 1/4 x 6) adhered & trimmed to fit) and for the envelope front (5/8 x 5 3/4). This is a very traditional Christmas card & I love the colors & the DSP. The sketch was a fun challenge. And the thing about this challenge, it could be done with just about ANY of the DSP patterns & images stamped to coordinate. The sentiment could easily be changed to happy birthday or just a note or thinking of you. – making a wonderful card set gift pack. IDEA!!!

Stampin’ Up! Frosted Forest Halloween Card

Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop Group! We have a theme challenge today – Halloween – and I have to say up front, I am not a Halloween kinda gal, so this was a bit of a struggle for me. But I have to say, I like my card and I had fun creating it. :O)

Stampin' Up! Frosted Forest Halloween Card

This card started with a Misty Moonlight card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. I layered a Thoughtful Journey 6×6 DSP to the front cut at 4 x 5 1/4. The blues and purples create a spooky kind of look to me. Next I stamped a gorgeous moon from Under the Moon stamp set in Lemon Lolly ink. It was waaay too large for this card so I punched it with a 1 3/4″ circle punch, then trimmed it down again with the same punch to create this moon image. I set the moon aside while I die cut the trees from Basic Black using dies in the Frosted Forest Dies. They are gorgeous! I die cut three full images, then trimmed them down to get seven trees in all, layering as needed. I added these with liquid adhesive so that every branch wasn’t flat – a bit of dimension please. Once the trees were in place I adhered the moon. Bats are perfect in a Halloween picture, so I stamped the bird in Memento ink and colored it with a Basic Black Marker, die cut it with the Frosted Forest Dies and attached it – close enough for a bat, right?!

For the inside… On a 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White panel I added more of the same image from the Thoughtful Journey 6×6 DSP – 2 x 4 – and attached a remaining tree with liquid glue. I pulled out the Alphabet Dies and more Basic Black, die cut the letters BOO! and attached them at an angle. Yep – another bird was needed so I did the same as the bird image on front: stamped in Memento ink and colored with Basic Black Marker. Believe it or not, the bird is part of the Frosted Forest stamp set and has a coordinating die!

Stampin' Up! Frosted Forest Halloween card & envelope

For the envelope I used more of the Thoughtful Journey 6×6 DSP that coordinated with what I used on the card front, to adhere to the flap & trimmed to fit. I stamped three images of the bird on the envelope front.

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Evergreen ‘Strip’ Tree

Good Saturday! What is new in your corner of the world? Now that it is just a bit cooler, hubby and I have been trimming bushes that desperately need it and doing some other yard work … consequently had to purchase some new tools as well. Interesting how tools wear out – just as we do! :O) Anyway – I’ve made a very clean and simple card for you today using the Peaceful Evergreen Dies and the Peaceful Season stamp set. As an FYI, each of these comes as a bundle for 10% savings and can be found in the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog pages 24-25.

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Evergreens card front

This is pretty much an all white card except for the DSP strips for the tree. I love this clean look, but it is a bit on the plain side. Perhaps I should have run it through an Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder. Next time! To make this card..

  • Start with a 3 3/4 x 5 Basic White panel and die cut the largest tree using the Peaceful Evergreen Dies, centering it.
  • Using the die cut tree, lay strips across it to your liking. I used the Take A Bow 6×6 DSP in 1/2″ wide strips. Adhere to the die cut.
  • Place this tree on a 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White panel, using the cut out tree panel as a guide for placement. Adhere.
  • Add dimensionals to the cut out tree panel and place on top, centering.
  • Add to a Thick Basic White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • On a 1/2 x 3 3/4 strip of Basic White, stamp the sentiment in Real Red ink using the Peaceful Seasons stamp set. Adhere with adhesive only on the ends.
  • Add embellishments of choice. Here I used the Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries
  • As a final touch I added this Granny Apple Green star at the top, die cut from Festive 12×12 Glimmer Paper.
Stampin' Up! Peaceful Evergreen 'strip' tree card inside

For the inside… I created another ‘strip’ tree in a smaller size laying the strips on a Basic White panel and die cutting with the smallest of the trees in Peaceful Evergreen Dies. I adhered this to the 4 x 5 1/4 basic White panel, then stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Seasons stamp set in real Red ink. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card and done…

For the envelope, I took a 2 1/4 x 6 piece of Take A Bow DSP and adhered it to the flap and that was it.

Stampin’ Up! Changing Leaves Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to our hop… you may have come from the talented Tara or just popped in here. However you arrived at my blog – hello! On our walk yesterday we saw trees with changing colors already – so surprised as here we are at the beginning of September. Cool nights have been as low as 49 degrees – and for this early in September – gosh! Here we are though and the theme challenge for this Thursday Blog Hop is fall leaves.

Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves Bundle 9/5

My card base is Cherry Cobbler 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. Layered to that is Crushed Curry 4 x 5 3/8. I took a panel of this stunning gorgeous Season Elegance SDSP from the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog cut about 6×6 and ran it through the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder (ONLINE EXLUSIVE). I trimmed it down to 3 1/2 x 5 and reserved what was left for the envelope flap (2 1/4 x 6). With the trimmed down embossed piece I used a Blending Brush and Cajun Craze ink and Crushed Curry ink to color many of the leaves – not darkly, but enough to create shading/ highlighting. I added this panel to a Cajun Craze 3 5/8 x 5 1/8 and attached them to the card front with dimensionals. I die cut one leaf and two ‘sprays’: the leaf in Crushed Curry that I again used the Blending Brush and Cajun Craze to color; the two sprays in Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze. These are from Changing Leaves dies. I added them to the front with liquid glue and a double bow from the Natural Tones Linen Thread in Copper Clay with a glue dot. I stamped the sentiment from Changing Leaves stamp set in Cajun Craze on a scrap of Basic Beige and die cut it with a die from Changing Leaves Dies. This was attached over the die cuts with dimensionals. The final touch is embellishments – Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Copper Clay.

Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves bundle, inside

For the inside… Another panel of Crushed Curry (4 x 5 1/4) adhered to the card base. The stamped image is on a Basic Beige panel 3 1/2 x 5 and is from the Changing Leaves stamp set. I used Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze inks along with Sponge Daubers (page 88 in the Annual Catalog) to create color on the maple leaf stamp.

Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves Bundle card & envelope

For the envelope, I used the very same maple leaf stamp and without re-inking it, spritzed it with water in a Stampin’ Up! Spritzer and stamped it on the envelope. The flap has more of the Seasons of Elegance SDSP that was embossed with the Changing Leaves Hybrid embossing folder.

Now… time to move along on the hop and see what wonderful creations are in store for you – Carol is next, so click on the next button to go straight to her site. Enjoy the hop!

Stampin’ Up! The Sep-Dec Mini Catalog is LIVE!

WooHoo! The catalog you have been waiting for is live and purchases may begin… My card today features Season of Elegance SDSP and two bundles – the Peaceful Evergreens and Peaceful Seasons. It also uses the Cherry Cobbler & Gold 3/8″ Satin Ribbon that is part of the suite of products.

Stampin' Up! Season of Elegance SDSP card front

I began by stamping these beautiful trees in Mossy Meadow ink on a 4 x 5 1/4 panel of the Seasons of Elegance SDSP. I stamped the ‘Merry’ from the Peaceful Season stamp set in Cherry Cobbler, then the ‘Christmas’ in VersaMark and sprinkled in Gold embossing powder, then heat set it. Oh my goodness – so pleased with how this large sentiment heat embossed! The ink on the word ‘Merry’ must have still been a bit wet as it also took some of the gold embossing powder. I die cut the star from Gold Foil scrap and adhered it with a mini dimensional. I adhered this panel to Cherry Cobbler 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 then wrapped the Cherry Cobbler Satin Ribbon around it and secured it in back with Seal+. I tied a bow and adhered it with a glue dot. Both panels were added to a Basic Beige card base 4 1/4 x 11. I added Wink of Stella to various parts of all the stamped trees.

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Evergreens card inside

On the inside, I stamped this single stamp of five trees in Basic Beige, then the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and adhered the 4 x 5 1/4 panel of Basic Beige to the inside of the card.

Stasmpin' Up! Season of Elegance card & envelope

For the envelope, I stamped the same single stamp of five trees in Basic Beige on the front and more of the Season of Elegance SDSP on the flap – this time showing off the other side of this gorgeous SDSP.

Stampin’ Up! Take A Bow 6×6 Stack & Cut C’mas Cards

This is a brand new week – and hard to believe it is September 2 already. The summer went by so darn quickly…. and yes, it isn’t ended until September 22, I get that. But somehow, Labor Day, school starting, other programs picking up again – it seems like summer ‘up & went.’ Bad English, I know. My cards today… I have resisted creating the ever popular ‘stack & cut cards’. And that’s on me. Yesterday I did it and here are the four cards I created.

One of the reasons I have resisted making stack & cut cards is they are so similar – and I rarely make two of the same card. What I did here is use very different dies for the front sentiment panels. And if you are not familiar with stack & cut cards – here’s the idea… take 4 designer series papers that coordinate, stack them one on top of the other and cut – meaning all four papers are cut exactly the same. What changes is the order of how they appear on the card. And I made my cards as two horizontal and two vertical cards. By switching the cut papers it changes the ‘look’ of each card while using all the same papers. Make sense?

How to create these cards… the DSP is Take A Bow 6×6 DSP available Sep 4 in the new 2024 Sep-Dec Mini Catalog – choose four (4) coordinating patterns, stack them one on top of another and cut 3 3/4 x 5. On the short side cut at 2 1/2″, then cut that strip on the long side at 2 1/4″. And the remaining uncut strip that is now 1 3/4 x 5, cut it at 3 1/4″, leaving two sizes: 1 1/4 x 1 3/4 and 1 1/4 x 3 3/4. Keep papers in appropriate stacks. Cut four different coordinating card stocks 4 x 5 1/4. Begin laying out the DSP patterns by placing all of the top pieces from the same pattern on each of the four cardstock panels – using the cards above as a guide. None of the designer series papers that I chose are directional, so it didn’t matter where they were placed. If any your patterns are directional, that will make a difference. Continue each pattern of DSP until all are distributed. Adhere to cardstock with adhesive of choice, then add to card base with dimensionals.

Besides the Take A Bow 6×6 DSP, here are the various supplies needed for each card:

Card 1 -Something Fancy Dies, Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon in White, Greetings of the Season stamp set, Christmas Friends stamp set on the inside, Real Red ink and Granny Apple Green + Garden Green ink, Adhesive Backed Berries.

Stampin’ Up! Decorative Trees Bundle & Two Projects

What is your passion? Do you like doodling, creating, doing or making things for others? I enjoy people, most people that is, and I enjoy creating mostly for others. Creating calms me when life sometimes gets out of control. It lowers my stress level when life gets out of balance. Thursday was a card class day and we used the the Decorative Trees bundle. This is in the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog and I highly recommend it. This catalog goes live Sep 3 – just days away. Let’s look at what we made…

Stampin' Up! Decorative Trees card front

Talk about Christmas – this is it! Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas Tree, how lovely are thy branches. Hee Hee. This does NOT show the glittery paper! Darn! However… this is a two step tree die cut, using two dies. The first tree is the background and is die cut from Festive 12 x 12 Glimmer Paper in Granny Apple Green. The next layer is plain Granny Apple Green cardstock with Adhesive Sheet applied to it. The Adhesive Sheet allows you to peel back and stick – similar to how we use dimensionals. :O) When the die cut is delicate, it makes it so easy to use the Adhesive Sheets. Now the tree is together, let’s work on the rest of the card.

  • the card base is Garden Green 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2
  • layer Basic White 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and adhere to card front.
  • next layer is Granny Apple Green 4 x 5 1/4 and embossed in the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder, then adere directly to the Basic White
  • next layer is Basic White 3 1/8 x 3 1//8
  • final layer is Take A Bow 6x6b DSP cut 3 x 3 and adhered to Basic White: both adhered to card front with equal top & side edges
  • add the tree with dimensionals
  • add a double bow from Natural Tones Linen Thread in Garden Green – a glue dot works well

The card front sentiment comes from the Decorative Trees stamp set. I wanted this sentiment to have a sheen and have heat embossed in clear embossing powder. Here’s how…

  • ink the sentiment with VersaMark ink, then ink right away with Garden Green ink and stamp on the Basic White strip 1 x 3 1/8
  • sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with the heat tool.

Attach the Basic White sentiment strip to the card front with dimensionals and add Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins in Granny Apple Green.

Stampin' Up! Decorative Trees card inside

For the inside, I wanted the same sheen to the sentiment from Decorative Trees stamp set:

  • ink sentiment with VersaMark ink, then ink stamp with Garden Green ink – stamp the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White panel
  • sprinkle the ink with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool
Stampin' Up! Decorative Trees card & Envelope

For the envelope…I used the same Take A Bow 6×6 DSP pattern to adhere to the flap and trimmed to fit. On the front I stamped the tree image from Decorative Trees stamp set in Garden Green ink – and done!

For our second project, we created an ornament using the Decorative Trees Dies only. Below are the front, attached loop for hanging and dimensionals to hold in place and last photo is the back side, DSP only.

I used the Decorative Trees outline die to die cut the tree from another DSP in the Sep-Dec Mini Catalog: Season of Elegance SDSP in Pretty Peacock, cut 2. I die cut the snowflake/ tree detail die from Nests of Winter DSP to which I added Adhesive Sheet for easy adhering. I also added Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems to two places on the snowflake diecut. Isn’t this paper gorgeous? It comes in Pretty Peacock, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Beige.
