Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Treat Bags

Hello Friday! Christmas must be on my mind this week… Yesterday’s blog hop was a
Christmas Fun Fold, today is a very cute (well two) treat bag. Our out of town daughter came last weekend bringing her family and a couple of fun ‘gifties’. The laser-cut wooden stars were one of the treats and not a Stampin’ Up! product. As I was trying to decide what to do with them, she said she would like to use them in a window or on a tree… or something. Here’s what I did.

Sale-a-bration Treat Bags.1
Sale-a-bration Treat Bags.2

The paper is from – what else – the Sale-a-bration Catalog and is a FREE Item with a $50 purchase. You can get your hands. on this paper Jul 3!!! It’s called Silver & Gold 6×6 DSP. This is obviously the gold. And I’ve used ribbon from the Jul-Dec Mini Catalog: Real Red & Garden Green 3/8″ Ribbon Combo Pack. It’s part of a Suite of products called the Sweetest Christmas Suite on pages 9-11. Behind each star is a glimmer paper: Real Red & White 6×6 Glimmer Paper – also part of the Sweetest Christmas Suite. The Glimmer paper was die cut with Layering Circles Dies and added to a Basic White piece cut with Layering Circles Dies, but with a scallop. I slipped a White Baker’s Twine through the star, tied a knot and when tying the Real Red or Garden Green Ribbon, I slipped it in between to hold it in place.

Here’s how to do the treat bag.

  • 6×6 piece of card stock or DSP, scored at the top: 1 3/8, 2 3/4, 4 1/8 & 5 1/2
  • Turn paper to right to score for the bottom: 1 3/8
  • Trim as shown in photo
Sale-a-bration Treat Bags.3
  • Add Tear n Tape to narrow strip ~ see photo
  • Burnish score lines with fingers, fold in half along middle score line and seal after removing Tear n Tape covering.
  • Fold in bottom pieces and seal with Tear n Tape or adhesive of choice.
  • Pinch top together; tie ribbon around the top. This can just slip off to get to the treats inside :O)

Fun, right? The fun part about making a treat bag like this, is that it can be decorated to fit the occasion: hearts, banners stamped & layered ~ the possibilities are endless. It’s up to you. Would love to see your creations, so please share.

Stampin’ Up! Birthday w/ Sentiments Silhouettes Dies

Good morning! Welcome to a Tuesday Blog Hop Group. If you have come from visiting Karen Finkle – welcome. Our theme challenge is ‘birthday’ and I’ve created a fun card with the Sentiments Silhouettes Dies.

Birthday w/ Sentiments Silhouettes Dies.1

The Sentiments Silhouettes Dies is for die cutting sentiments in the coordinating Charming Sentiments stamp set. But it also has dies ‘outside of that’ – hearts, stars, birthday candles and more. I highly recommend this bundle – it’s fab!!!

I took a panel of Basic White and die cut five candles with the flame and two pattern candles. After die cutting I ran this through the Stripes & Splotches 3D embossing folder, obviously using the splotches :O) It adds texture and fun to the card. I put dimensionals on the back and attached it to a panel of Hues of Happiness 12 x 12 DSP. I inserted the die cuts of the two patterned candles, attaching them with liquid glue. I love how you can continue to see the patterned paper beneath them. Next, I took that same DSP and cut two panels with the Scalloped Contours Dies to make the scalloped edge. I used the same die to create the edge for the Basic White card base as well. With the card base edged, I added the scalloped pieces from the DSP. I then added the top panel, adhering with liquid glue. The sentiment comes from Sending Smiles stamp set and was stamped in Memento Black ink. I then added several Glossy Dots Assortments in both Pool Party and Daffodil Delight ~ and the card front was complete.

Birthday w/ Sentiments Silhouettes Dies, inside

For the inside I added a panel of Pool Party to the inside of the Basic White card base, then a ‘frame’ from Scalloped Contour Dies that I found in my stash. I love how it reinforces the scallops on the card front. The sentiment is again from Sending Smiles stamp set and stamped in Memento ink. The die cuts were taken from the Hues of Happiness DSP using the Sentiment Silhouette Dies.

Birthday w/ Sentiments Silhouettes Dies.3

For the envelope… I used Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends to color one of the candles & flames die cut from the card front and added it to the envelope. Below it is a strip of the same Hues of Happiness DSP used on the card. It just really brings everything together! This card was inspired by a slimline card I saw on Pinterest, created by Tami White. Remember card cuts are at the bottom of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Book Fold w/ Easel

Hello Sunday! Oh golly – our out of state family arrives today!!! So excited, ‘cuz it’s been a while. I’ve pulled out more DSP to share – from Awash in Beauty and more Hues of Happiness. And I’ve used them on a book fold with an easel. Such a fun and easy fold to do. Plus it adds a special touch with the easel. :O)

Book Fold Easel Card.1

Photo 1 shows the card flat. Photo 2 shows the card w/ the easel. What makes it a book fold is the left part that is adhered together (see the panel?). The easel is the ‘stand-uppy’ part. :O)

Book Fold Easel Card.2

How fun is that??? I like to cut all my pieces and add them to the layering card stock, then add to the card base. So, cut the Awash in Beauty 12 x 12 DSP for the card front and adhere to the Polished Pink layer. The card base is Thick Basic White, scored at 5 1/2 then scored again at 6 3/4. Turn the card and score the right panel from corner to corner diagonally. Burnish the score lines: the 6 3/4 becomes a valley and the diagonal score becomes a mountain – as you see in photo 2. What makes it a book fold is adhering the narrow strip to itself (from the 5 1/2 to the 6 3/4 – that 1 1/4 area is adhered to the back of the card base. Now adhere the Polished Pink panels to the coordinating panels on the card base. (all card cuts are listed at the bottom of this post BTW.) With the Blossoming Happiness Dies and the Hues of Happiness 12 x 12 DSP, die cut leaves and the large rose and small rose for the inside. The Happiness Abounds Bundle (10% less when purchased as a bundle) coordinates with the Hues of Happiness DSP – intentionally, for this very purpose. It makes it so easy to add dimension and loveliness to a card. I fussy cut the blue flowers from Awash in Beauty DSP, adhered it to the back of the large rose, keeping in mind, the fold. I did the same with the die cut leaves – added them with liquid glue to the back of the rose. The rose got dimensionals just where it would attach to the easel fold, primarily the bottom half of the rose, then added it to the easel. VOILA!

Book Fold Easel Card.3

The inside is quick… adhere the Basic White panel to the Polished Pink piece, then to the inside of the card. The Rose, die cut from Hues of Happiness DSP, is attached with a couple of dimensionals so it’s raised a bit and holds the fold in place. The final touch was adding three Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels to the card: flower center + two more just to the left of the rose. Easy peasy, right?! Here’s another show of the easel fold.

Book Fold Easel Card.4

Ok, envelope… I embossed a Polished Pink panel with the super fun Stripes & Splatters 3D embossing folder and adhered it to the flap. Of course – I used the Splatters, as you can see. And for the envelope front, a fussy cut flower from the Awash in Beauty DSP adhered with liquid glue.

Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Prints Thank you

Hi Folks – Friday it is… perhaps you’re thinking TGIF and maybe you have some fun plans. Whatever you have going on, I hope you have some time to create something special for someone – as in ‘handmade card.’ Hint, hint :O)

My card for today allows for some DSP to take center stage, then a gorgeous wreath is placed upon it to really give it some pop. Here it is…

Nature’s Prints Bundle Thank You.1

The DSP is Sun Prints 12 x 12 which coordinates so beautifully with the Nature’s Prints bundle. I mean, look at the gorgeousness of that paper. This was added to a Calypso Coral card base. I die cut two wreaths from Basic White card stock using the Natural Prints Dies. The bottom wreath is adhered directly to the DSP with dabs of liquid glue. The top wreath is placed on mini dimensionals and added to the other. I stamped the sentiments from Nature’s Prints stamp set on Vellum – Memento ink and using my Stamparatus again. I cleaned the stamp, re-inked it with VersaMark and stamped again: then sprinkled it with Clear Embossing powder and heat set with m y Heat Tool. This made a clear, shiny sentiment that ‘glows’. I die cut the sentiment banner using Natural Prints Dies and added it to a strip of Calypso Coral with just a bit of Stampin’ Seal (I probably should have used glue dots!) I put dimensionals on the back of the Calypso Coral and added it over the wreath. Several Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels were added for sparkle. Love these jewels!!

Nature’s Prints Bundle Thank You, inside

For the inside I took a narrow strip of the same Pretty Prints 12 xl. 12 and added it near the bottom of the Basic White panel, then added the panel to the inside of the Calypso Coral card base.

Nature’s Prints Bundle Thank You.3

More of the same Pretty Prints DSP was adhered to the envelope flap. For the envelope front I stamped this stunning fern leaf in stamped-off at least twice Calypso Coral ink. It just adds a gorgeous touch to the entire piece.

Stampin’ Up! True Beauty is here!

Hi folks – Friday I received another package from SU! – more bundles from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog! YAY! I decided to play with the True Beauty bundle – why I didn’t get this first off, I have no idea.

L-O-V-E… One of my favorites is the lattice die – oh my goodness… so delicate and beautiful. Here’s my card.

True Beauty.1

I’ve used several SU! products to make this card – and it’s all worth it (at least to me): Thick Basic White for the card base with a layer of Awash In Beauty 12 x 12 DSP adhered directly.; Lovely Layers Vellum just slightly smaller came next and was attached with Stampin’ Seal in the middle where I wanted to place the circle.; the lattice was die cut from Basic White using one of the dies in the True Beauty Bundle (Organic Beauty Dies). I added it with dabs of liquid glue around the edges and some in the cross places. The next layer is a circle cut with the largest of the Layering Circles Dies from a Basic White piece, then run through the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder for … you know, more texture :O) I stamped the flower itself using Sweet Sorbet ink stamped off once or twice then die cut with the Organic Beauty Dies. The leaves were stamped on Basic White and die cut with the Organic Beauty Dies. Both were adhered over the circle with dimensionals. I used a sentiment from the True Beauty stamp set and stamped in Memento ink, die cut with the Beautiful Shapes Dies. You KNOW this coordinates with Hello Beautiful stamp set, right??? This also was added with dimensionals. I tied a double bow with the Metallic Woven Ribbon in Parakeet Party and adhered it with a glue dot. If the bow wasn’t enough for glam, I added three Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels. And the card front was done…

True Beauty 1, inside

For the inside, I stamped this wonderful design in Pear Pizzazz ink on yet another Basic White piece. I wanted a bit more texture so scored two lines on the left side, avoiding the stamped design. What do you think? Like it? I adhered this panel to the inside with liquid glue.

True Beauty 1. 3

Envelope… Some of the same Awash In Beauty 12 x 12 DSP on the flap. For the front, another of the same stamp in Pear Pizzazz ink as the same as inside the card.

Love the femininity of this card – and the colors too. This bundle is quickly becoming a favorite. Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Orchid Oasis Birthday

Happy Friday! At least, that’s the day I think it is… sometimes when a holiday gets in the mix, my days get all messed up. Does that happen to you? Life gets out of sequence and well, there it is. Today’s card is lots of Orchid Oasis. This is becoming one of my favorite new In Colors.

Orchid Oasis Birthday.1

I’ve used the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Paper adhered to Basic White, put on dimensionals and added to the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper (also in Orchid Oasis) that was wrapped with the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine (yep, Orchid Oasis!). And yes, you can see I tied that twine in a bow at the left side. I like the texture it adds to the card. This piece also got dimensionals and was added to the Bermuda Bay card base. I stamped the sentiment also in Bermuda Bay ink on a Basic White panel. That sentiment comes from the Charming Sentiments Bundle and was die cut with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouette Dies. I put mini dimensionals on the back and added it to another piece of the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper. This was adhered with liquid glue to the card front. The final touch was the Solid Faceted Gems in Night of Navy. They add a different kind of sparkle to the card. L-O-V-E!

Orchid Oasis Birthday, inside

I kept the inside super simple – just a strip of the same 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Paper Pack added to the bottom of the Basic White panel, then adhered to the inside of the card.

More of the same 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Paper Pack was added to the envelope. What I love about this card is that it could so easily be a masculine card if needed. And those are sometimes hard to come by. I’ll post dimensions for the card cuts at the bottom of this post as well as the products to make this card. A click of the button will take you to my online store so you can get it all 😁

Stampin’ Up! Pop-Up Book Fold Card

Hello folks – it’s Thursday… and I have a fun fold card today. It’s called… Pop-Up Book Fold and it’s not as hard as you might think. As a matter of fact, I’m teaching this in my card class today. The scoring & cutting is a bit tricky for the inside and I strongly suggest looking at a video on YouTube and not just following my instructions. :O) I love this card, but I DO have to, ya know, pay attention when creating! Here’s the card…

Pop-Up Book Fold Card.1

I’ve used several products on this card… stamp sets: probably three, maybe four; Ladybug Punch (so fun!) , ribbon and embellishments, Stampin’ Blends. Layering, layering. How can we NOT do it?!

The DSP is Perfectly Penciled which I colored with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I could have colored the leaves but chose not to. This DSP already has some shading and I used that area for the Dark Daffodil Delight. I like how each flower is different – as they are in real life! Once colored this was layered on Basic Black. The Black & White Gingham ribbon was round around and secured in back with Stampin’ Seal. I then slipped another length under that and tied a bow, then secured it with a glue dot. I put dimensionals on the back and adhered it to the Daffodil Delight card base. I used the Charming Sentiments Bundle to create the sentiment, stamped in Memento ink and die cut with the Sentiment Silhouette Dies. I put dimensionals on the back and adhered it to a Basic Black piece die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies, then adhered it with liquid glue to the card front. Then came the sweet bee – punched with the Ladybug Punch. I simply cut thin strips of Daffodil Delight scraps and added them to the Basic Black body. The wings were punched from Vellum and added with a thin strip of dimensional. I added the completed bee to the card front with dimensionals. The final touch was a single Iridescent Rhinestone Jewel on the flower just above the bee.

Pop-Up Book Fold Card.2

For the Pop-Up insert… cut the panel 8 x 5 and score at 4 on the long side. With the short side up on the paper trimmer, measure down 1″ and cut from 1″ to the 7″ mark. Turn the paper 180 degrees and do the same on the opposite side. These are the only two cuts necessary to create the pop-up book. The rest is all scoring. It might be helpful to mark with pencil all the scoring lines so you don’t goof. :O)

  • With long side at the top and the right side of the paper on the 1″ mark beyond the trimmer, score from 1″ to 4″. Move the paper to the 1 1/2″ and score again from 1″ to 4″. Turn the paper 180 degrees and do the same on the opposite side.
  • With long side at the top of the trimmer and left side of paper at the 2 1/2″ mark, score 1″ to cutting line, both top & bottom. Again turn the paper 180 degrees and do the same on the other side.
  • Burnish all score lines and fold as shown in photo below. Also, refer to photo 2.

You will notice in photo 2 that I stamped all around the score lines and I did it after all lines were done. I think I would suggest stamping the entire sheet before scoring. I think it would look pretty neat that way. The leaf stamp comes from the Abigail Rose stamp set. It seemed to look similar to me to the DSP used on the card front. I stamped in Memento Black ink.

Decorate the ‘book’… (It’s helpful to decorate the ‘book’ prior to adding the insert to the card base.) Cut two panels of Daffodil Delight 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 and adhere. Cut two panels of Basic White 2 x 2 1/2. Stamp the sentiment fromHello Ladybug stamp set in Memento ink on one panel. Stamp with the flower from Hello Ladybug stamp set in Daffodil Delight surrounding the sentiment. Then use the same stamp to cover the other panel. Create another bee using the Ladybug Punch and adhere with liquid glue to the stamped all over panel. Add this to the left ‘book’ side. Adhere the sentiment panel to the right ‘book’ side. Decorate both with Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels on various flower centers. Here’s that photo again.

Pop-Up Book Card.2

The next sorta tricky part is adhering the insert to the card base. And I should have taken a photo of this step but was too excited and didn’t do it :o(

  • With the card base flat and the insert flat as well, adhere the right side only – outer edge and to the 2 1/2″ score line top & bottom. Center it.
  • Close the card with all scoring as it should lie. Adhere the left side: outside edge and top & bottom just to the 2 12″ score lines.
  • When completed it should look like the photo below.
Pop-Up Book Fold Card.3

Such a fun fold – and not all that difficult… just need to pay attention to the score lines! I hope you try this – and share it with me when you do.

Stampin’ Up! Pocket Envelope Dies

Happy Monday… it’s also Memorial Day, a day in which we give thanks to those who gave their lives for this country, for our freedom to think, to speak, to worship. Many have no idea what that really means ~ the ultimate sacrifice. Let me say, it’s a privilege to be an American citizen. There are incidences that occur that do not make me proud, and yet, we strive to do better, to be better. On this day as we consider the full meaning of Memorial Day, may we strive to be a better citizen, a better member of this country, a better person.

Today’s card is made with several items from the Stampin’ Up family… the Pretty Flowers embossing folder, Pocket Envelope Dies, Tea Boutique 6×6 DSP, Penned Flowers Dies, Go to Greetings stamp set and Opal Rounds. And, there may be one or two other items as well. :O) I love the Tea Boutique 6×6 DSP – so many ideas float through my head. One of the papers I especially like is the one with the cutest little envelopes with flowers sticking out of it. I pulled out the Pocket Envelope Dies and made a cute pocket for a special note inside it. I used the Go To Greetings stamp set to stamp the sentiment for the note in Orchid Oasis ink. Before I get toon far, here’s the completed card.

Pocket Envelope Dies.1

It’s funny how we can see things in a photo we didn’t notice before… for instance, the bow sdhould be straight on the ‘pocket’. Oh well, that cannot be changed now! That cute bow is made with one of the dies in the Envelope Dies. It comes in two pieces and I added the largest of the Opal Rounds on the bow. This is one of ‘hand deliver’ kind of cards as the bow would be crushed in the mail. And that cue bow would be adorable on small gift boxes. Yet, I digress :O)

The card base is Orchid Oasis card stock with a layer of Basic White, then another layer of Orchid Oasis run through the Pretty Flowers EF. You know, there are two sides that can be used with this EF: embossed and what I’ll call de-bossed. One side has more raised impressions and other more outline.

Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder.1
Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder.2

Can you see the difference in the two? I chose to use side 2. And here’s the back side of the ‘pocket’ and where I added Tear ‘n Tape to adhere it to the card front.

Pocket Envelope Dies.2

One thing to notice is side 2 of the DSP, cuz this will show at the top of the pocket. While I added a ‘note’ inside it, it does still show, so just be aware of that when putting your card or something else together. The size of the ‘note’ is about the size of a credit card, if not just a bit longer. I wanted the sentiment on it to show. :O) Orchid Oasis for the note base and a Basic White piece adhered to it after stamping. Nothing else.

For the inside of the card, I wanted to carry out the idea of the envelope on the DSP, filled with flowers. The Pocket Envelope Dies has small leaves, so I die cut several of those in Garden Green. The flowers were die cut from Penned Flowers Dies in both Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis. I used small scraps to adhere to the back side of the flowers contrasting the background. I thought we had an envelope die, maybe in a past set… anyway, I created my own kind of ‘willy nilly’.

Pocket Envelope Dies, inside

Didn’t this turn out sweet? It looks very similar to the ‘envelope bouquet on the DSP! The leaves were all adhered with dabs of liquid glue while many of the flowers have mini dimensionals on the back to create depth – even though it’s the inside of the card. This is probably my favorite part of this card ~ the inside.

OK, the envelope… an embossed piece of Orchid Oasis was added to the flap and a bouquet was stamped in Memento ink on the front, then colored with Fresh freesia and Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Blends. That very sweet bouquet is from Happiness Abounds stamp set.

Here’s a photo of the card, envelope.

Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish with Layers

WooHoo! It is for many a l-o-n-g weekend! Happy Memorial Day celebrations. Thanks you Veterans for your service to our country. We DO appreciate you! I’ve another easy card for you today, creating with the Deckled Rectangles Dies and Designer Series Paper, Awash in Beauty 12 x 12, and the Biggest Wish stamp set.

Biggest Wish w/ Layers.1

This card has many layers and it’s colorful. Polished Pink is one of the In Colors from last year and it is b-r-i-g-h-t! And… it has made, in my opinion, this particular pattern or patterns of DSP really pop.

  • Begin with a card base of Polished pink. Layer the Basic White panel, then the DSP (Awash in Beauty) that has been die cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Dies. Adhere these together as shown.
  • Using the 4th largest of the Deckled Rectangles, cut another of the Polished Pink. Layer a panel of Basic White then the final layer of Awash in Beauty, also die cut with the Deckled Rectangles. Adhere all together.
  • Wrap these layers with 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon in White and secure in back with Stampin’ Seal
  • Wrap Open Weave Ribbon in Polished Pink directly over the Organdy Ribbon and secure in back with more Stampin’ Seal. Slip a length of the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon under the Organdy and tie a bow on the far left.
  • Stamp the ‘Hello’ in Mossy Meadow ink from the Biggest Wish stamp set and die cut with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies.
  • Stamp the ‘friend’ from the same stamp set (love the varied fonts here!) in Polished Pink ink and fussy cut. Put dimensionals on the back of this word and add it to the die cut circle.
  • Put dimensionals on the back of the die cut circle and add it over the ribbon. For centering, I used the bottom of the word ‘hello’ to line up with the bottom of the ribbon
  • Add three Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the circle and the front is complete.

True confessions… I have not completed the inside of this card. I simply could not decide what I wanted. I do not have, but am ordering today, the True Beauty Bundle that coordinates with this DSP. When it arrives, I will complete the inside and share it with you. For now, I have used the largest Deckled Rectangles Die to cut an inner layer to decorate. It is, of course in Basic White.

Biggest Wish w/ Layers, inside

For the envelope… more of the Mossy Meadow Awash in Beauty DSP for the flap. For the front of the envelope, I took an edge of the rectangle die cut, trimmed the ends and added it to the bottom. Once that coordinating True Beauty Bundle is here, I will add one of the floral stamps :O)

Biggest Wish w/ Layers.3
