Stampin' Up! Diagonal Split Fun Fold w/ Daisies

Isn’t this pretty? I’m heading to a convention on Thursday and the ‘logo’ is daisies – so what better use of this Delightfully Eclectic DSP and Scalloped Contour Dies? and this fun fold is so quick & easy.

  • Directions
    • * Cut card base – here it is Thick Basic White – 4 1/4 x 10 1/4, score at 5 1/2
    • * Cut Designer Series Paper – Delightfully Eclectic DSP – 4 1/4 x 4 34 and adhere to card front
    • * While this is drying, cut additional pieces of DSP 2 5/8 x 3 15/16 + 2 1/4 x 6 (envelope flap)
    • * Place card front in Paper Trimmer and cut on the diagonal. For my measurements I used 1 1/4 on left upper corner and about 1 1/2 on right lower corner.
    • * Using Basic White card stock and the 2nd largest of the Scalloped Contour Dies, create the scalloped piece. Adhere the small panel(2 5/8 x 3 15/16) of DSP to it’s center. Add dimensionals to the back of this panel, both top & bottom.
    • * Add this panel to the closed card front – top portion only! Remember the cut diagonal removed the bottom :O) It will be about 1/2″ from top of fold and about 5/8″ from each side.
    • * With the card closed, slip the bottom diagonal piece under the scalloped die cut, making it even with the inside of the card bottom & sides. Remove backing on remaining dimensionals and close card.
    • * Using the Sweetly scripted stamp set, Tuxedo Black Memento ink and a 4 1/4 x 1″ strip of Basic White, stamp the preferred sentiment. Add dimensionals to each end and adhere over the die cut panel

Stampin' Up! Diagonal Split card inside

On the inside of the card… on a Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 panel and using the daisy outline stamp from Color & Contour stamp set, stamp in Petal Pink both in the upper right corner and lower left. Now stamp the ‘fill’ image of the flower in stamped off Petal Pink – this is called second generation stamping. Add the panel to the inside of the card – and done! I created at least 3 of these, just like this, then did two others using the Subtles 6×6 DSP in Petal Pink to cover the card front, yet continued with the Delightfully Eclectic Daisy DSP on the Scalloped Contour Die.

Stampin' Up! Diagonal Split Front Fold w/ Scalloped Contour Dies

For the envelope, I used another piece of the Delightfully Eclectic DSP to cover the envelope flap and trimmed it to fit. On the envelope front, I did the same daisy stamp from Color & Contour stamp set with Petal Pink ink. I did the same for all five cards.

Stampin’ Up! Notes of Nature Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and that means a whole host of creations by this extra special team of crafters. Thanks for joining on this Blog Hop. Our theme today is love – to be interpreted individually. Does that mean hearts to you, or showing appreciation or gratitude? Whatever it is – you will see a variety on today’s hop. Mine is sharing praise and being thankful for others kind of card using the Notes of Nature Bundle.

Stampin' Up! Love Challenge for the hop
Stampin' Up! Notes of Nature Congratulations. Thu hop. 1/25

I used some fun products on this card – the Notes of Nature bundle and the Lovely & Sweet stamp set. These can be found on pages 40-43 in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog. From the suite of products shown on those pages, I also used the Nature’s Sweetness 12×12 SDSP and the Adhesive-Backed Cork Dots. I din’t think I would like these – but I DO!. I used the fun die cut from Notes of Nature Dies to die cut from Vellum Basics SDSP the long leaf die. I continued to die cut from that same Vellum Basics SDSP and the Notes of Nature Dies, various leaf patterns. I also die cut from the Nature’s Sweetness SDSP, the gold leaves shown under the sentiment.. Once those were all die cut, I began assembling the card… Thick Basic White for the card base, the Nature’s Sweetness SDSP cut to cover the card front.. I then cut the next layer of Nature’s Sweetness SDSP to about 2 1/2 & 5 1/2. I cut two strips of Pebbled Path card stock about 14″ x 5 12 and adhered it to the back of the Pebbled Path SDSP, then attached it directly to the card base. I added the vellum die cuts with glue dots, then the 1/4″ strip of Pecan Pie card stock at an angle. the gold leaf was attached with dimensionals. The sentiment comes from Lovely & Sweet stamp set (page 42) and is stamped in Pecan Pie ink on a Basic White scrap, then attached with dimensionals at each end. I added the Adhesive-Backed Cork Dots for texture – and love the effect!

For the inside… I stamped the cross-hatch pattern using the Lovely & Sweet stamp set & Pebbled Path ink; then stamped the sentiment from Lovely & Sweet stamp set in Pecan Pie ink. This Basic White panel was adhered to the inside of the card – and sending love & congratulations all at once.

Stampin' Up! Nature's Sweetness Suite card & envelope

For the envelope… more of the Pebbled Path pattern from Nature’s Sweetness 12×12 SDSP on the flap, trimmed to fit. Then I stamped the fun image from Lovely & Sweet stamp set in Pebbled Path ink – and done. I really like this card and am so pleased with the finished product. Love in action in a congratulations card!

Stampin’ Up! Artistically Inked

I’ve chosen a stamp set that has carried over from last year to create this sweet, but simple card today – Artistically Inked and the coordinating Artistic Dies. Let’s take a look-see.

Artistically Inked.1

The card base is Thick Very Vanilla card stock. Adhered to that is a panel of Very Vanilla run through the Stitched Greenery Die. This die cuts the paper but not all the way to making pieces as making a pattern. It is a wonderful background die & I use it a lot! I set this aside while doing the next steps…

  • Die cut the large flower from Artistic Dies in Very Vanilla card stock. Gently remove from the die, holding in as many of the cut pieces as possible. Turn it over and add tape to the back side in those areas you wish the pieces to remain. Do not overlap the tape as this will create lines during the next step. Turn the die cut piece face up.
  • With a Blending Brush (or 3) color the design: So Saffron for the largest flower; Petal Pink for the smaller flower; Pear Pizzazz & Soft Sea Foam for the various leaves. It’s OK if the colors overlap some!
  • Adhere to a Very Vanilla panel with dabs of liquid glue.
  • Slip under a length of Metallic Edge Cotton Ribbon in Silver, folding it over as shown, adhering with a glue dot.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Artistically Inked stamp set on a Very vanilla scrap with VersaMark , sprinkle with Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Punch with the Essential Tag Punch and trim bottom for appropriate length. Adhere with dimensionals.
  • Add this Very Vanilla piece to Pear Pizzazz card stock and attach to the card base with dimensionals
  • Add two Basic Pearls and the card front is complete!
Artistically Inked, inside

For the inside, I stamped the very precious rose in Petal Pink ink on a Very Vanilla panel. Of course the rose is from Artistically Inked stamp set :O) I then stamped two leaves, also from Artistically Inked, in Pear Pizzazz. I added two more of the Pearl Basic Jewels then attached this to the inside of the card. I did not add a sentiment… but plan to later even though the panel is already adhered in place. How would I do that? A couple of ways can accomplish this. But safest so as not to make a mistake :O) would be to stamp on another panel of Very Vanilla, fussy cut and adhere it in place. As the card is now, it could be a wedding card or a birthday card.

I wanted this card pretty much monochromatic. But if you wanted more color for the inside, this Very Vanilla panel could be adhered to a Pear Pizzazz piece then adhered to the inside of the card. Just an option.

Artistically Inked.3

For the envelope, I used the same treatment as the inside of the card for the envelope front: rose in Petal Pink ink and leaves this time, in Soft Sea Foam. I then stamped this same leaf all over the flap of the envelope with Soft Sea Foam ink.

Products for today’s card…

Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments Bundle w/ Pretty Prints and Sun Prints DSP

Happy Tuesday. I hope you have a day of fun planned. We take our English Springer to the groomer today – he’s looking a bit shaggy, and we just may pick up our boat from where we had it wintered over. The bottom needs to be scraped & painted every year. And well, with hubby’s back surgery just two months ago, we have to be extra careful. So wish us luck!

Today’s card is super easy – the DSP really does most of the work. The fun part is the sentiment. Charming Sentiments is a new bundle and the dies cut out every sentiment in the set, fairly closely and it’s cool – just sayin’ – this is a special bundle you want :O)

Charming Sentiments bundle w/ Pretty Prints & Sun Prints DSP.1

I used a Thick Basic White card base and covered the front with Pretty Prints DSP in Calypso Coral. I layered a panel of Sun Prints DSP 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 and adhered it directly to the front layer. I stamped this gorgeous font sentiment from Charming Sentiments stamp set in Starry Sky and die cut it with the Sentiment Silhouettes Dies. Love, love! Next I took my blending brush and Calypso Coral ink and added color to the die cut, then put dimensionals on the back. The ribbon is the 3/4″ Frayed Ribbon in White laid across the front for dimension, effect, texture – all those elements a card needs, and adhered it with several glue dots. Then I added the sentiment and finally for a bit of sparkle, three Solid Frosted Gems in Night of Navy – and the card front was done. Good masculine kind of card, right?

Charming Sentiments Bundle w/ Pretty Prints, etc.2

For the inside I added a strip of the Pretty Prints near the bottom of a Basic White panel. I stamped the sentiment – yep, from Charming Sentiments, in Night of Navy ink and once dry, used the Blending Brush to add some background color in Calypso Coral ink. The panel was added to the inside of the card with liquid glue and the card was done, done.

Charming Sentiments Bundle w/ DSP.3

Remember a woman asked for a couple of cards for folks moving to their first new home? Well, this is the second card. More of the Pretty Prints DSP for the envelope flap and a sentiment for the front from – guess where- Charming Sentiments stamp set! And… stamped in Starry Sky ink. What’s not to like?!

Stampin’ Up! Congrats with Happiness Abounds

It’s Saturday! What this means for us is… we rehearse with the orchestra this morning for our patriotic concert tomorrow afternoon. Oh so excited! Having an orchestra just adds so much to the music. Sometimes I want to just listen to them and I forget we’re supposed to come in 😦 So, what are your plans for the day? I hope it’s something you enjoy – such as playing in your craft room, or getting together with a couple of friends to do something fun together. For now, let me show you this latest card.

Congrats w/ Happiness Abounds.1

This is some of the new Designer Series Paper called Textile Chic Specialty Paper. It’s gorgeous! Rather modern looking. Interesting color combos. Because of the fun shapes on the paper I also used the fabulous Beautiful Shapes Dies to add more pattern. Fun, right? The sentiment of course, is from the Happiness Abounds stamp set and I embossed that in gold. And then – the Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots add a shiny touch. Here’s the scoop…

  • Card base is Thick Basic White: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Texture Chic Specialty DSP: 4 x 5 1/4; 2 x a bit more than 3 1/2 (create banner tip); 3/4 x 4 + banner tip
  • Pool Party: 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 + scraps
  • Basic White: 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 (for sentiment panel on front); 4 x 5 1/4

This card is so quick and easy to create: the Texture Chic Specialty Paper is adhered directly to the card base with liquid glue. Next layer is the Pool Party Panel adhered directly, then the Texture Chic Specialty banner also adhered directly. I used an embossing buddy to clear the Basic White piece of any static, stamped the sentiment from Happiness Abounds in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Gold embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. I die cut the piece with the second largest of this hexagon shape die from the Beautiful Shapes Dies and adhered it with dimensionals. I die cut the additional pieces from Pool Party scraps using more of the Beautiful Shapes Dies. Some were adhered with liquid glue and the rest with dimensionals. The final touch was the Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots and the card front was done.

Congrats w/ Happiness Abounds.inside

On the Basic White panel I stamped the sentiment in Memento ink from the Happiness Abounds stamp set. I added the banner tip which I had saved 😏 with liquid glue underneath. And finally I added a 3/4″ strip of the Texture Chic Specialty Paper at the bottom. Finis!

Congrats w/ Happiness Abounds.3

For the envelope, more of the Texture Chic Specialty Paper for the flap and that was it. Now let me tell you… a friend had asked for a card to be given to a family moving, purchasing their first home. I didn’t have anything like that on hand – that’s a pretty specific need. So I began looking at sentiments and thought – I like this! My inspiration for the card layout came from page 98 of the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. Do you have one of those yet? If not, and you do not have a demonstrator, I would be glad to send you one.
