Stampin’ Up! DSP Fun Fold

Good Friday morning… oh wait, that needs to be read with a bit of Irish brogue… good Fridee mornin’ 😀 Happy St. Patty’s day 👍. I have three fun cards for you today – pretty much made the same, just with different Designer Series Papers. The first is the Hello, Irresistible DSP from the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES and the Irresistible Bloom Bundle.

Hello, Irresistible DSP, Fine Shimmer Paper in gold, Soft Sea Foam and Flirty Flamingo for the card back… + the Irresistible Blooms Bundle for the Flowers and leaves. You can see in the photo showing the inside of the card how the DSP shows off. Loose Frosted Dots were added for glam.

Stampin' Up! Happy Forest Friends inside

Happy Forest Friends DSP is the show-off on this card. Additions to make it: Smoky Slate & Fine Shimmer Paper thin strips, Happier than Happy Bundle (butterfly & sentiment) and a bit of Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack in Crumb Cake. So Saffron card stock was used for card back.

Here again, the show-off is the Happy Forest Friends DSP, but without folding it back on itself.. & it shows off the back of the DSP when opening the card. So Saffron for the card back & Soft Suede for the sentiment banner + the Essential Tag Punch. Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the tag. These are such fun cards to have on hand to add sentiments to when needed. And here’s how to do cards 1 & 2.

Cut DSP 5 1/2 x 6, score on long side (with scene right side up) @ 1/2 on left and 4 1/2 on right end. Burnish. TIP: this creates a card front 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and is best with any DSP that has a ‘scene’.
Add card back (4 3/16 x 5 1/2) to 1/2 end of DSP. Best way to do this is to add adhesive to the 1/2″ end of DSP (inside) & slip card back in the fold and close the card front.
Add the two 1/2″ strips to inside of the right end of the DSP
Add adhesive to back of strips & back of DSP on right end and fold to front on burnish. This shows the back side of the DSP which coordinates so well with the card front. When opening the card, the ‘back’ of the DSP adds a great pattern for the inside of the card.

Card 3 was even simpler, with the entire card front showing the DSP without it folding back on itself. I still used the same DSP size 5 1/2 x 6 and scored @ 1 1/4, making certain when scoring the ‘scene’ is right side up 😀And the card back was So Saffron 4 3/16 x 5 1/2.

Here are the three cards with envelopes – great variety with same basic template. Love how the ‘scene’ of the DSP is the primary focus – at least in the last two cards. This does show you how to give variety to a basic layout. To see another card with this same layout, please look here.

Stampin’ Up! Irresistible Blooms

Good Saturday! I have a beautiful new bundle I worked with – an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE that I tried resisting, and couldn’t. 😀 It is stunning! It is called – of all things – Irresistible Blooms Suite and what comes in the suite is: stamp set, coordinating dies, gorgeous 6×6 DSP and Loose Frosted Dots in three colors. An older color is coming back – Lost Lagoon – and that shows in these papers. Another cool thing is the dies die cut the two sizes of flowers in the DSP as well as three leaf shapes. I’ve created a very feminine card with this suite. Let’s take a peek.

See that stunning flower? It’s die cut from one of the papers! And see the leaves under the flower and under the sentiment? Those are also die cut from the DSP. And isn’t that wreath fun? It’s one of the dies as well. The DSP under it all is one of the papers in the pack. It has these cute little bubbles same as the wreath. And see the Loose Frosted Dots? The Petal Pink ones are on the banner while the Soft Seafoam are in the wreath – and notice, three sizes too. They adhere with a tiny dot of adhesive. The sentiment is from the stamp set, stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink , a coordinating color of the DSP, and die cut with the smallest of the Deckled Rectangle Dies. The bow is Sating Edge Ribbon with Gold and added with a glue dot. I don’t know if you can see it in the photo, but I added Shimmery Crystal Effects to the flower on several of the white sections.

The inside of the card is every bit as feminine: more of the DSP on the bottom of the white panel, a smaller die cut flower from the paper, three small leaves die cut as well. The Basic White panel overlays a Flirty Flamingo panel, same as the front, and adhered to the Thick Basic White card base.

The DSP on the envelope flap is the back side of the DSP on the card front. I used the entire 6×6 sheet on this card! I was hoping you could see the Crystal Effects, but it doesn’t really show. I’ve chosen to use butterflies on my card today, using the die from Designer Tags Dies and the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper. I’ve also used Hues of Happiness DSP with lots of wonderful colors to bring it all together. And layers… a piece of Basic White run through the Stripes 3D embossing folder (from Stripes & Splashes 3D set) and a strip of scallops from the Penned Flowers Dies and a leafy spray from the Dainty Delight Dies (trimmed to use a long piece on top and the shorter end at the bottom under the scallop… and lets not forget the Stylish Shapes Dies for the circles. So I pulled from a lot of different places and love the finished look.

For embellishment I used Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems in Gorgeous Grape. One of the wonderful things about nature is color – lots of it and lots of shades of one color or another. You can see that in the Hues of Happiness DSP.The front sentiment comes from Happiness Abounds stamp set that coordinates with the DSP. It’s a general greeting and this card could easily be used for birthday, to a sympathy card. I fussy cut the sentiment by the way, after stamping it in Orchid Oasis ink.

For the inside, really simple… a 1/2″ strip of the same Hues of Happiness DSP adhered near the bottom.

Goodness, this photo is ever so dark! Again, I kept the envelope quite simple with a strip of Hues of Happiness DSP on the flap trimmed to fit.

Stampin’ UP! Scenic Garden, Sale-a-bration HOST Set

I finally pulled out my Scenic Garden stamp set ~ it’s a Sale-a-bration HOST set that I had fun playing. This particular stamp is right up my ally – I’m a gardener, I keep playing in the dirt. Of course, here in the Northeast, it’s not quite time yet to do much in the garden, but bulbs are beginning to pop out of the ground. So here’s my card…

Love these pots stacked upon one another! Wish I were better at coloring them. So here’s how I did this… I stamped this in Memento ink on a Basic White piece then colored it with Stampin’ Blends: Cajun Craze for the pots and a bit of Color Lifter to create a highlight; Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, a bit of Starry Sky & Orchid Oasis. Once colored I die cut the desired size with the third smallest of the Deckled Rectangle Dies. Then I created a mask for the bottom of the pots… with Stampin’ Up! Masking Paper: stamp on the Masking Paper, cut out the image, remove the backing & place it over the stamped image. It looked like this…

The white part on the bottom pot is the mask – pretty cool, huh? I wanted to have the pots look as though they were sitting on rocks. I laid this small white panel on another Basic White that would go on the card front; stamped the stones in Memento ink then colored the stones with Gray Granite Blends.. I adhered a Basic Black panel to the small front panel then used my small Blending Brush & Gray Granite ink to add color around the stones, as if there was a path. I removed the mask & adhered this panel in place. In retrospect I should have run the larger piece through a Brick Embossing Folder – I think that would make a very cool backdrop. But I didn’t… and the white panel needed something. So butterflies – but not very big ones. I pulled out my Brilliant Wings Dies and found these two which seem the perfect size. I die cut these from 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper in Orchid Oasis. Then I sprinkled in a few Brushed Metallic Butterflies and liked the combination. The sentiment comes from Charming Sentiments stamp set and it’s stamped in Memento ink on a scrap, backed with Basic Black and adhered to the card front. The Basic White panel is adhered to Basic Black then to Daffodil Delight, put on dimensionals and attached to the Thick Basic White card base.

For the inside I stamped these wild flowers in Memento ink then colored with Orchid Oasis & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends and attached the panel to the inside of the card.

For the envelope, I stamped the same flowers as the inside, but colored them in Daffodil Delight Blends, leaves are Old Olive. I’m not real happy with this card… guess I’ll need to do it again at some point, it’s just too plain. AARGH. Oh well. I do love the stamps.

Stampin’ Up! Beautifully Happy and Framed Florets Dies 3 Ways

Good Monday Morning! It’s President’s Day today. I do remember celebrating President’s Day as a youngster… and found it fascinating how the president’s accomplished what they did. Today, not so much – I’m not even going to go there. Let’s change the subject, shall we?

I have three cards for you today, all using the Beautifully Happy stamp set that is FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order. And that freebie ends at end of day February 28. If you want this stamp set, now’s the time… do not wait, do not hesitate 😀

All the cards are first stamped in Soft Suede ink and colored with Flirty Flamingo & stamped off Old Olive. I have used the same process for each envelope, changing out the bouquet for a single flower. The stamped floral pattern is also fussy cut in all the cards. On this first card, an additional bloom was fussy cut & added with a dab of liquid glue. Each of the stamped floral bouquets is added to the card front with dimensionals.

Card #1: This card uses Playing In the Rain DSP that was die cut with the Framed Florets Dies, added to a Basic White panel slightly larger then added to a thick Basic White card base.A leaf spray and a single leaf were added, die cut with more dies from the Framed Florets Dies. Adhesive-Backed Milky Dot were added: a Mango Melody for the flower center and four White. A Linen Thread bow was tied around the stem and secured with a glue dot.

Card #2: This card began by die cutting a panel of Basic White with the Split Card Textures Dies, and adhering that to a smaller panel of Dandy Designs DSP, then adding it to the card front with dimesnionals. This DSP is also FREE with a $100 order during Sale-a-bration. Two leaf sprays were die cut with the Framed Florets Dies and added with liquid glue, then the floral bouquet added with dimensionals. Again, an Adhesive-Backed Milky Dot was added to the center flower, in Mango Melody. Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Petal Pink, were added for glam, and a Linen Thread bow was added with a glue dot.

Card #3: This card began with a Basic White panel being run through the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder and added directly to the Thick Basic White card base. Another die from Framed Florets was used to make the larger, more intricate die cut. A left over die cut oval from Playing in The Rain was added after placing the plain oval die cut in the center. This created a perfect frame for this card. Two additional leaf sprays were die cut from Basic White and a couple of the small leaves – all with the Framed Florets Dies. Three Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots were added plus a Linen Thread bow.

None of these cards has a sentiment on them, which means they can be used for any purpose necessary. A sentiment could have been added, but I really thought it would detract from the beautiful design.

For the inside of the card, I kept the design really simple for all three cards. A single flower stamped & colored the same as the envelope: Soft Suede for the outline, Flirty Flamingo for the flower, stamped off Old Olive for the leaves and a bit of Mango Melody for the stamped center.

I absolutely love these cards, and of course, the DSP could be changed out and the flowers colored to coordinate and it would look totally different. Such a breath of fresh air!

Stampin’ Up! Petal Park Bundle and a Fun Fold

Good Friday morning! It’s raining here, gray & overcast. UGH. But I have a card for you that will hopefully brighten your day. I’ve chosen to make another Diamond Flip Fold card – just because I found it so much fun – and it makes a statement. I’ve used the Regency Park 6×6 DSP , the Petal Park Bundle (includes the Petal Park Builder Punch) and the Charming Sentiment Bundle (includes the Sentiment Silhouette Dies). The card base is Night of Navy and I’ve used Balmy Blue as a background behind the DSP and the stamped diamond on the card front. There is not a lot of writing room as this card shows, but in lieu of DSP on the inside, you could easily have a layer of Basic White to have more room. What’s nice – make it your own by changing it up. You will notice in the photos below that I have not put any DSP on the diamond ends of the card on the inside – as I did on the previous card. It seemed too busy, so I left it off – and, I like it better.

You can see in each of the photos I have used Balmy Blue as a base layer over the Night Of Navy, then either the Basic White or the Regency Park 6×6 DSP. These papers are just so pretty they need showing off! The front Basic White panel is stamps from the Petal Park stamp set. The leaves were done in Shaded Spruce stamped off once – after stamping the outline in Memento ink. The flowers were stamped on a separate panel in Memento ink, then I used the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends to color the petals + the Color Lifter to ‘move’ the Balmy Blue colors. I found it better to use the Color Lifter to do that than the Blender Pen as that pen tends to ‘poill’ the paper. The floral centers are colored in Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. At this point the flowers were punched and added to the square (diamond) panel with dimensionals.

You can see in this photo above that I stamped the flowers in Balmy Blue (stamped off) to help me with placement for the punched flowers. :O)

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop Color Challenge

So, I have to laugh at myself & share it with you… I made a card for this blog hop, but when I went to do all the necessary ‘work’ of plugging in the challenge, I realized I made the card for NEXT WEEKS blog hop 😀 How funny is that! So I pulled out a card I hadn’t posted yet and here we go. It’s one we are working on in card class today.

Stampin' Up! P;laying In The Rain hop 2/9

This card is made with the Playing in the Rain stamp set and the Picture This Dies + Rain or Shine DSP. It was super fun to make as the Playing In The Rain stamp set is full of cuteness.

Die cut the Rain or Shine DSP with the Picture This Dies. DSP is 4 x 5 1/4
Place this over a Basic White panel 1/8″ smaller & trace lightly the various circles. in pencil
Decide where & what images you want to use from the Playing In The Rain stamp set then stamp with Memento ink in the various circles. It’s ok to go outside the circle but use a post it note to cover a circle if you think it would stamp in it. see photo

Color images as desired. I used Stampin’ Blends Mango Melody, Cajun Craze & Old Olive for the flowers/ leaves; I used Flirty Flamingo for the rabbit and Old Olive, Mango Melody and Cajun Craze on the turtle image. I also die cut a bow tie in Basic Black using one of the balloon bow dies. 👍😀
Stamp the sentiment from Playing In The Rain in Smoky Slate ink
Erase any remaining pencil marks.
Now lay the die cut Rain or Shine DSP over this panel & adhere in place.
Put dimensionals on the back and adhere to a Smoky Slate A2 card base.
Add the loose Daisy Assortment to the sentiment – and the card front is done!

For the inside…

Stamp the fox, puddles and sentiment in Memento ink
Stamp the raindrops in Smoky Slate ink
Color the fox, umbrella and puddles with Stampin’ Blends: Cajun Craze for the umbrella, Mango Melody for the rain hat & coat, Smoky Slate for the fox and puddles
Add to inside of card & voila!

For the envelope… More Rain or Shine DSP on the flap trimmed to fit; and a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend colored umbrella on the front. The umbrella is stamped in Memento ink & comes from Playing in The Rain Stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Dandy Designs Box for Note Cards

Hello again.. as promised I have the easy box for the super cute Playing In The Rain Note Cards & Envelopes shared these past couple of days. It is made with Dandy Designs 12×12 DSP that is FREE with a $100 order during this time of Sale-a-bration (Jan to end of Feb 2023). I reinforced the box with the white backing that comes with DSP. It’s perfect for a project like this!

As you can see I’ve tied it closed with a wonderful Metallic Mesh Ribbon, then tied the banner on with the Simply Elegant Trim in silver. Here’s what the box looks like on the inside with the reinforcement panels in place.

How to:

Begin by cutting a panel 9 1/2 x 12 and score on the long side @ 3 1/2, 5 1/2 9 1/2 & 11
Turn and score on short side @ 2″ & 7 1/2″
Burnish all score lines and trim as shown in next photo… trim just to 2″ score line on each side, remembering the flap is the smallest score (11) That first flap is also

The top of the photo shows the front flap and the two trimmed flaps that are part of the top. Notice that I rounded the flap ends.
The next ‘flaps’ I am going to number as 2, 3. & 4 – and they relate to both sides
Fold in flaps 3 and put adhesive on both flaps 2 as they will be the sides and will attach to flaps 4 when folded.
Fold, keeping the # 3 flaps loose and on the inside.
Flaps #3 are now adhered to the sides – and done! However, I chose to add panels of the white boards from DSP packaging.
- Cut pieces: sides ~ 2 x 3 1/2 (cut 2) and adhere to inside sides; front & back ~ 5 3/8 x 3 1/2 (cut 2) and adhere to insides front & back; and finally the bottom ~ 2 x 5 3/8 (cut 2 and adhere together) and adhere to bottom.

The card front is Rain or Shine DSP covering the entire front of the card. I stamped the clouds using Smoky Slate ink and the Playing in the Rain stamp set, then die cut the clouds with the Playing in the Rain Dies. They are added to the card with dimensionals. The cute turtle is fussy cut from the Rain or Shine DSP and added with liquid glue. The banner is stamped in Smoky Slate ink with the Playing in the Rain stamp set and trimmed with the Banners Pick a punch then a strip of Old Olive added to the back with Stampin’ Seal then attached to the card with dimensionals. The inside of the card has an adorable flower bunch die cut from the Rain or Shine DSP with Stylish Shapes Dies and added with liquid glue. The envelope is stamped in Smoky Slate ink with Playing in the Rain stamp set and colored with Daffodil Delight & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.

Stampin’ Up! Playing In The Rain Note Cards.2

Hello weekend! I hope you have something fun planned. Yesterday I shared a note card using the Playing In The Rain Bundle and mentioned that it would be easy to make several to have on hand or give as a gift – I took my own advise and did just that. Tomorrow I’ll share the box I made specifically for these note cards.

On this card I used the Brights 6×6 DSP in Flirty Flamingo for the background and Balmy Blue card stock behind the main image. The main image comes from the Rain or Shine DSP & was die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. The Balmy Blue behind it was die cut with the Layering Circles Dies. The sentiment comes from Thanks a Bunch stamp set (FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration!). On the inside, a single strip of the Brights 6×6 DSP in Flirty Flamingo and a fussy cut umbrella from Rain or Shine DSP. The floral stamp on the envelope is from Playing In The Rain stamp set.

This card uses a panel of the Rain or Shine DSP as the background, another die cut image from the DSP adhered to Mango Melody card stock die cut with the Layering Circles Dies. A single Loose Daisy Embellishment was added to the sentiment. A strip of the Mango Melody helps focus the sentiment from Playing In The Rain stamp set. A single strip of the DSP is added to the inside of the card.

Card #3 uses more of the Rain or Shine DSP for the background and a focus image die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies from the Rain or Shine DSP. For strength I did die cut a Basic White circle and adhered it to the back of the focus image before placing those in dimensionals. The strip for the sentiment is Mango Melody card stock and the sentiment is stamped in Memento ink using the Playing In The Rain stamp set. The sentiment ends were trimmed with the Banners Pick a Punch. A strip of the same DSP was added to the inside of the card and another fussy cut turtle from the Rain or Shine DSP was added to the envelope front.

For this last card I used a background of Subtles 6×6 DSP in Mint Macaron with a background on the main sentiment of Balmy Blue card stock. Both the image & the scalloped trim were die cut with the Layering Circles Dies. I simply used the reverse side of the Subtles 6×6 DSP for the cross pieces behind the focus image. The sentiment from Playing In The Rain and stamped in Smoky Slate ink was fussy cut & layered on a strip of the Rain or Shine DSP. The inside of the card and the envelope front got a floral stamp from the Playing In The Rain stamp set in Smoky Slate ink. These four cards along with the card from yesterday, (seen here) make a lovely gift set if you should want to do that.
