Stampin’ Up! Sneaky Peek At The Pond Hinge Fun Fold

Happy Happy 2023!I’ve been a bit out of the loop for a bit – hubby had surgery & my attention was all about that, then Christmas & family – and now, here we are. I hope you had a really good holiday, however you celebrate things. Ours was quieter, of course, but still wonderful. We are so blessed with wonderful family. – and hubby is improving every day. 👍🙏

My card today is a sneaky peek at one of the HOST stamp options for the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog, which will be available come Jan 5. And that’s just really soon! I’ve also used some DSP that is free with a qualifying order during the Jan-Feb Sale-a-bration period – Dainty Flowers DSP.

Isn’t this a cute, sassy frog? I’m going to name him Alfred – and no, I have no idea where that came from. 😀 You can see there are no flowers on this side of the Dainty Flowers DSP – it looks similar to watercolors – love, love. And the hinge flap has a sentiment from another new stamp set called Sending Support – also FREE with a qualifying order during Jan-Feb Sale-a-bration. I’ve die cut the sentiment with Stylish Shapes Dies. I extended the length of the die cut a bit to make the sentiment fit. But I’ll explain that.

Hinge Flap Fun Fold:

Cut card base 81/2 x 5 1/2 and score at 4 1/4 on the long side.
Trim off 1 1/2 from the long side; score this at 4 1/4
Adhere this strip to the card base about 3/4″ from bottom with the fold on the edge (I adhered it lower and don’t like where it is!) This is now your hinge flap!

Decorate:

Cut panels of DSP: front – 1 3/4 x 2 1/2; hinge flap – 1 1/4 x 4; inside – 1 3/4 x 4; envelope flap – 2 1/4 x 6
Cut Basic White panels: front – 2 1/2 x 4; inside 4 x 5 1/4; sentiment banner for hinge flap 1 1/4 x 3
On the front panel:
- Stamp the frog in Old Olive – this is a two-step stamp, so stamp the inner then the outline
- Stamp the log in Soft Suede – again aa two-step stamp, stamp the inner then then outline stamp
- Stamp the bee in Crushed Curry & Memento inks – CC for the wings, then the body in Memento
- Add this panel to the card front
On the inside panel:
- Add the 1 3/4 x 4 DSP to the far right edge
- Stamp the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry ink using the Sending Support stamp set
- Adhere this to the inside of the card, covering where the hinge flap is attached
On the hinge flap:
- Add DSP to the flap (1 1/4 x 4)
- Stamp the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry ink from Sending Support stamp set on the remaining Basic White strip
- Die cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies: Die cut about 2/3 of length by placing the top cutting plate so it covers just 2/3 of die; run it through the die cutting machine; replace die to cover other end of stamped sentiment, matching or lining up die, then placing top cutting plate just over that area to be die cut, run it through the die cutting machine – and done!
- Attache die cut sentiment to hinge flap with dimensionals
Add Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to both hinge flap and card front

All that’s left to do now is the envelope & it is so easy…

Add 2 1/4 x 6 piece of Dainty Flowers DSP to the envelope flap & trim to fit
Stamp the small bees 3 times on envelope front in Crushed Curry ink using the At The Pond stamp set

Stampin’ Up! Showing off NEW Fancy Flora 6×6 DSP

Good Wednesday! It has been a week today since hubby had total left knee replacement. The week SEEMS to have flown by, but not really.My craft room is upstairs and I keep bringing items down to the main floor to work as I can. And you know what – it ALL has to return to its rightful place SOON – in time for family to arrive Christmas Day. And… I desperately need to wrap presents!!! Does everyone have their wrapping complete but me? 🥴

Fancy Flora 6×6 DSP is new in the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog – and at first I didn’t really like it much. But as I work with it, it’s really growing on me. Today I have combined the Fancy Flora DSP with Something Fancy stamp set & coordinating dies, but also the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder. As I mentioned in an earlier post, this paper reminds me of oils and Monet and this embossing folder just ‘goes’. I’ve also used Natural Finish Ribbon, Opal Rounds, and Sahara Sand ink.

What I did:

Cut a panel of Fancy Flora 6×6 DSP (available Jan 5, 2023) to cover the entire front of an A2 card.
Emboss this panel with the Painted Texture 3D EF; adhere panel to a Thick Basic White card base
Cut a length of Natural Finish Ribbon, trim ends to your liking, fold over and add to card front with glue dots
Stamp sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set with Sahara Sand ink; die cut with coordinating Something Fancy Dies
Adhere die cut over the ribbon with dimensionals
Add three Opal Rounds and the front is done!

Something Fancy stamp set and Something Fancy Dies – (available Jan 5, 2023). These also coordinate with the Fancy Floral bundle. The sentiments are great for lots of different occasions.

You can see I stamped a sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set – Sahara Sand ink, then added a strip of the Fancy Flora 6×6 DSP to the bottom. For the envelope, more of the same pattern Fancy Flora DSP adhered to flap & trimmed to fit. Voila! Look at some of the papers in this pack and see if you could create something similar – but a masculine card. I think you can!

Stampin’ Up! Sneaky Peek Two-Tone Flora

Good Sunday morning everyone! Who can tell me what happens just one week from today? 🎄That’s a hint. Yay! Christmas! A time for celebrating Christ’s birth. A time for sharing our love for one another. Rejoice!

Today I’m sharing a sneaky peek of new products from the Jan-Apri 2023 Mini Catalog. This is such a sweet, soft all occasion card with an absolutely beautiful die as the focus. But in this sneaky peek I will show you the other dies and the stamps in this set as well as the new DSP that coordinates with it. Let’s look at the card first.

Is this gorgeousness or what?! It’s die cut with a single die with Thick Basic White card stock. I like to use the Thick paper for a die cut like this as it gives it more strength. You can see I added a Linen bow with a glue dot after stamping the sentiment (Inspired Thoughts stamp set) in Blushing Bride ink. Then with my paper snips I created the end and attached the stamped strip with dimensionals. Done!

Here’s the coordinating die.

It looks as though I didn’t clean all the paper out of the die cut. Yep – I’ll have to do that prior to using it again. This decorated card front is 4 1/8 x 5 1/2. You could make it 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 prior to running it through the die cutter. And I layered this on coordinating Fancy Flora 6×6 DSP. Both were attached to the card base of Blushing Bride 4 1/45 x 11, scored at 5 1/2. Here’s a look at the DSP. Keep in mind it looks similar to oil paints, a Monet perhaps.

The colors in the DSP are Balmy Blue, Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, Night of Navy, Orchid Oasis, Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, Soft Suede, Soft Succulent.

Interestingly, my card uses Blushing Bride, Petal Pink and Merry Merlot + Pear Pizzazz for the green. And it works! Let’s look more closely at the stamp set and the other dies. I haven’t used other dies on this card – but will soon use in the future. :O)

The closest photo is those very stamps, stamped on paper to dimply ‘see’ what they look like and how they coordinate with one another. I’ve tried to put stamp them together with the stamps that coordinate. it isn’t perfect, but you can easily see how they work.

In this photo at left you see the coordinating floral and leaf dies. For each of the individual solid floral stamps, there is a coordinating die – and same is true for the leaves: a leaf spray + the two-leaf stamp.

The large flower is stamped in Blushing bride and Merry Merlot for the detail. The detail doesn’t show very well :O( However, the two other flowers are stamped in Petal Pink with Merry Merlot for the detail and you can see how well that works. The same two-leaf stamp is used to stamp around the flowers with Pear Pizzazz ink. This was done on Basic White, then adhered to the inside of the card.

The sentiment on both the front and inside are stamped in Blushing Bride ink and come from Inspiring Thoughts stamp set.

The envelope got more of the very same pattern of Fancy Flora DSP trimmed to fit after adhering in place to the flap. The flower ‘burst’ is stamped in Petal Pink with Merry Merlot for detail. And here’s tip: stamp the more solid stamp as step 1, step 2 is the detail.

Stampin’ Up! Framed Florets, Silver Sympathy

Good Friday morning. It’s close to the weekend and in less than 10 days, it will be Christmas! Yikes… so much to do yet – well, wrapping mostly. I’ve a soft, sympathy card for you today, made with the Framed Florets and coordinating Framed Florets Dies.

My card base is Basic Gray, but I’ve covered the front with Gingham Cottage DSP. I then took a smaller panel of Basic White and die cut the frame and center oval. I stamped the oval in Memento ink with the Inspired Thoughts stamp set. All three panels were adhered to the card front. I then die cut from Silver Foil, the wonderful leaves using the Framed Florets Dies, and adhered them in place with liquid adhesive. The flower is also stamped in Memento ink, then colored with Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. This was adhered with dimensionals. For a final touch I added three Festive Pearls in Silver – and the card front was complete.

For the inside this sentiment was perfect – and it comes again from Inspired Thoughts stamp set. It was stamped on a Basic White panel in Memento ink. I then took a Blending Brush and added ever so slightly, some Basic Gray all around the edges. And finally, I added a strip of the Gingham Cottage DSP to the panel and adhered it in place.

For the envelope, more of the Gingham Cottage in Basic Gray for the flap, trimmed to fit – and the card is ready to send. It will go out in today’s mail, to a friend who recently lost her hubby.

Hello and happy Thursday! It’s another Happy Inkin’ Blog Hop and we have a color challenge. And… I have a confession to make.. I made this card two weeks ago but when I went to post I realized it was wrong for that weeks challenge! Ha… I thought that was funny… and I saved the card to post for today’s challenge. Win, win 😀

The colors I chose are Granny Apple Green, Mossy Meadow & Merry Merlot – not colors I would normally put together, but I really, really like it. And of course the background is Sahara Sand from Subtles 6×6 DSP – and that really softens everything. The real fun is the sparkle from the Gold Foil Sheets, the Simply Elegant Trim and the Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots. The Granny Apple Green pine boughs just jump out – from Decorated Pine Dies. Another fun element is the Stylish Shapes Dies circle. This may be one of my Christmas card favorites. :O)

How to do this card..

Die cut three pine boughs from Granny Apple Green card stock – Decorated Pine Dies.
Die cut three ornaments from Gold Foil Sheets – Decorated Pine Dies from the Decorated w/ Happiness bundle
Die cut two circles: one from Subtles, Neutrals 6×6 DSP & one from Thick Basic White – Stylish shapes Dies. Adhere the two together for stability
Cut two panels: one from Subtles 6×6 DSP in Sahara Sand and one from Thick Basic White, 4 x 5 1/4. Adhere these together for strength.
Card base is is Sahara Sand 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
Stamp sentiment using Sahara Sand and Merry Merlot Markers on Thick Basic White piece – Hope & Peace stamp set. Die cut with _____________________
Now put together:
- The 4 x 5 1/4 panels are adhered to card base with dimensionals
- Place two pine boughs as shown using liquid glue to adhere
- Add top left ornament adhering with liquid adhesive
- Add Stylish Shapes Circles with dimensionals – add last spray of pine boughs on this
- Add the lower left ornament with liquid glue, slipping a portion under the circle
- Add last ornament to circle
- Add sentiment panel with more dimensionals
- Add Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots as shown
- Fray two ends of a length of Simply Elegant Trim – add with folded glue dots.

For the inside I stamped the pine bough in Mossy Meadow ink on a Basic White piece 4 x 5 1/4. Then stamped the sentiment – both from Decorated with Happiness stamp set – in Merry Merlot ink. At the bottom I added a strip of the Subtles 6×6 DSP in Sahara Sand. This was adhered to the inside of the card – and done!

The envelope got more of the Subtles 6×6 DSP in Sahara Sand for the flap – and a pine bough from Decorated with Happiness stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink. I love everything about this card – hope you do as well!

Stampin’ Up! Sneaky Peek Desert Details Bundle for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to a Tuesday hop with Amy’s Krew! The theme is ‘celebrate’ and we can interpret that however…,I’ve created what I consider a masculine card with this delightfully fun Desert Details Bundle available in the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog, so Jan 5! I can’t believe I’m writing 2023 on stuff – ‘cuz I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!

The Desert Details Bundle is very Aztec’y’, different & delightful (‘cuz it is different). I’ve used Designer Series Papers from the suite of products and an embellishment from the suite as well: Delicate Desert 12×12 DSP & Dry-Brushed Metallic Specialty DSP (also 12×12); Gold Faceted Adhesive-Backed Sequins .

Here ya go – now you can see the inner DSP a bit better. Look at that wonderful detail! The colors in the various papers of this particular DSP are Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Petal Pink, Gray Granite & Cajun Craze. The polka dot in the background is one of the papers, as is the shiny (this is the Dry-Brushed Specialty DSP!) AND the center paper as well (Delicate Desert DSP). Aren’t they F-U-N? And you see I added a copper trim. And those wonderful embellishments are Gold Faceted Adhesive-Backed Sequins. Here’s what I created on the inside.

Here you can see two of the very decorative long stamps – stamped in Gray Granite. The sentiment is also part of the Desert Details stamp set and is stamped in Soft Succulent. The very thin strips were remnants from the copper die cut on the front and I had to use them. Unfortunately the more detailed strip isn’t on straight, but can see how very cool it is.

For the envelope I stamped this wonderful detail stamp in Gray Granite near the edge of the envelope, then added more of the Delicate Desert DSP to the flap. This is just a wonderful masculine card. I love the layers of it and all the detail, yet it can so easily be sent to a man. Let’s take a quick peek at the bundle and a closer look at the DSP used.

Stampin’ Up! Dainty Delight Sneaky Peek

I played with this new bundle (Dainty Delight) a bit ago, but not like this. This time I stamped all the stamps and die cut all the dies, mostly to see what was in the set, how they go together, how to use. And since I hadn’t really done this to this extent in the past, I found it very helpful.

In the third photo you can clearly see how dies coordinate with a good many of the stamps in the bundle. Remember, this set will be available in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog that goes live Jan 5, 2023! And, in keeping with this set, I used a coordinating DSP that is actually a FREE item with a $50 purchase during the Jan/ Feb Sale-a-bration. And here are those papers.

Stampin' Up! Dainty Flowers DSP, watercolor-ish side

Aren’t these colors just lovely? The paper I used for the card I’m sharing is in the 2nd photo, far left, but another section. The coordinating colors are Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Starry Sky & Rich Razzleberry. I’ve also included Pear Pizzazz on my card. Let’s take a look.

Card stock colors: Blushing Bride for the dainty flowers; Crushed Curry, daisies, Fresh Freesia for another small flower, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive for the background leaf fronds. The ribbon is Old Olive Twill Ribbon from the Combo Pack & Linen Thread. I also added some bling: Iridescent Pearls, Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls and Brushed Brass Butterflies. The card base is Old Olive and the stamping uses Soft Suede ink.

Stampin’ Up! Adorable Owls Fun Fold

Oh my goodness… I received some preorder items from the Jan-April Mini Catalog along with a few Jan/Feb Sale-a-bration items and I’m having SO MUCH FUN! Today’s card features Dandy Designs DSP and the Adorable Owls stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalog – AND it’s a super easy Fun Fold. Let’s take a peek…

Isn’t this little guy just the cutest! And the sentiment ‘Hoot! Hoot!’ is also from the Adorable Owls stamp set. Actually it’s a partial sentiment… meaning I used some retired Washi tape to cover the part I didn’t want to use. I also used some White 6×6 Glimmer Paper for the upper DSP. The other DSP is called Dandy Designs DSP and is a large pack of 30 sheets of 12×12. The dots are the reverse of the sideways stripes. :O) Let me share with you how to make this fun fold design…

Cut the card base (here it is Balmy Blue) 5 1/2 x 7 1/4 and score @ 4 1/4
Cut another panel of Balmy Blue 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 (that’s the front largest square)
Cut DSP:
- 2 3/4 x 5 1/4 (here I used the White 6×6 Glimmer Paper)
- 4 x 5 1/4 for inside panel
- 3 1/4 x 3 14
Adhere panels to the appropriate places with adhesive of choice.
Stamp the owl from Adorable Owls stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White panel
Color owl with Stampin’ Blends
- Light & Dark Soft Suede for the body of the owl
- Dark Daffodil Delight for the eyes
- Dark Basic Black – for the smaller portion of the eyes
- Light Basic Black for the beak + Color Lifter for highlighting
- Dark Pumpkin Pie for the bow tie
Chalk Marker (white) for the eye highlight
Die cut owl panel with Stylish Shapes Dies
Adhere owl to the square panel, centering, with dimensionals
Stamp the sentiment from Adorable Owls stamp set, covering unwanted portion, in Memento Black
Adhere to square panel with mini dimensionals. The right end of the sentiment will need stacked dimensionals
Adhere completed square to top panel only
Add Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems in Balmy Blue

For the inside… cut another Basic White Square 3 1/4 x 3 1/4. Stamp owl as listed above & color. Stamp sentiment using the Inspired Thoughts stamp set in Memento Black ink. To adhere… open card, lay this panel on the upper panel right side down & upside down, centering it on the square. Add adhesive and close the bottom portion of the card on the piece. Bingo – attached properly 😀👍

For the envelope… more of the same Balmy Blue & White stripe pattern from Dandy Designs DSP – on the flap of course. I chose not to stamp anything on the envelope front. This card was sent already… to a man friend who recently had surgery. I hope he likes it – and he feels better too!

Now, what you need to know about this fun fold… this was a landscape design. It can also be portrait. I’ll share one of those in a couple of days 😁

The Balmy Blue and also the Basic White card stocks are part of the 2022-2023 Annual catalog. The Blends, Memento Black ink and Chalk Marker are in that same catalog as is Inspired Thoughts stamp set. The Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems and White Glimmer 6×6 are in the Jul-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog – as Real Red & White 6×6 Glimmer pack.
