Stampin’ Up! Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop All About Autumn Fun Fold

My card today is all about Autumn… and it’s an easy fun fold :O) More explicitly it highlights the All About Autumn 6×6 SDSP AND the Oxidized Copper SDSP. These are brand new products from the Mini 2023 Sep-Dec Catalog. They will be available to customers September 6 – so get excited, prepare your lists of what to order. This is gorgeous paper and the coordinating bundle, Autumn Leaves Bundle, is just as awesome.

Stampin' Up! Autumn Leaves Fun Fold front

If you are a customer of mine, you just may have your catalog already. And if you do, you may find the items used on this card on pages 42-44. Note that Amy Koenders played a part in creating the Autumn Leaves bundle as a reward for her Million Dollar Sales! Thank you Amy, for all you do!

Stampin' Up! Autumn Leaves Fun Fold, partially open

The card base is Copper Clay, and once scored, another scored panel was adhered to the right that creates the fun fold. Then the layers for the front (Very Vanilla and All About Autumn 6×6 SDSP) were cut & adhered in place. Please notice (how could you not!) how different these two front panels are & how they coordinate… both from the All About Autumn 6×6 SDSP pack. I just HAD to use the additional SDSP in this suite of products… Oxidized Copper 12×12 SDSP, to die cut the leaf image for the right front panel (All About Leaves Dies) – and adhered it in place with liquid glue. I then stamped the sentiment from Autumn Leaves stamp set in Copper Clay ink on a Very Vanilla panel and die cut it with a banner die using the coordinating Autumn Leaves Dies. This was adhered in place with dimensionals. The final step for the front was the addition of the Adhesive-Backed Speckled Dots in Copper Clay.

Stampin' Up! Autumn Leaves Fun fold, open

For the inside, I die cut two more panels of All About Autumn 6×6 SDSP and adhered them to the appropriate panels. Then I decorated them with die cuts using the Autumn Leaves Dies: one from All About Autumn 6×6 SDSP and two from the Oxidized Copper 12×12 SDSP. Each was adhered in place with liquid adhesive. (I intentionally did not add additional layers to the inside in order to keep the card from being too heavy.) For the sentiment area of the inside, I first stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink using the Autumn Leaves stamp set. I LOVE the mix of fonts! Then I took this very different die from the Autumn Leaves Dies that die cuts dotted lines, ran the Very Vanilla panel through twice, then adhered it in place (over the 1″ scored section of the added right panel). This is such a versatile card – could be for many occasions and could be a masculine card as well. :O) See at the bottom of this post all the card cuts to make this fun fold.

Stampin' Up! Autumn Leaves Fun Fold card & envelope

The envelope is also Very Vanilla and another piece of All About Autumn 6×6 SDSP was adhered to the flap & trimmed to fit. For the envelope front, I first stamped the leaf veins in Early Espresso ink using a stamp from the Autumn Leaves stamp set. I then took the double leaf stamp that coordinates with the leaf veins and with a sponge dauber, dabbed on color: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Garden Green, then stamped over the leaf veins. I was very pleased with the result. And the card & envelope are ready to send… I just don’t have anyone in mind just yet.

This is a fun fold hop, and I think you are going to see some fantastic cards. Click the next button to take you to Carol, or click on a name to see someone else’s card. Whatever you do – see them all! Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Delightfully Eclectic Fun Fold

I am so excited to share this Fun Fold with you… it’s called a springboard fun fold and it’s from Susan Campfield, a SU! demonstrator.

Stampin' Up! Delightfully Eclectic Springboard fun Fold card & envelope

Let me show you what it looks like ‘open’ and from the top.

Stampin' Up! Springboard fun fold, open
Stampin' Up! Springb oard fun fold from the top

The photo at far left shows the completed card sort of lying open. The next photo shows an incomplete card from the top. The ‘springs” are on the additional accordion or z-fold of the card. And, here you can see one of the ‘springs’. The springs make the card a bit bouncy, which is fun. In the photo at left, the sentiment on the inside is also on a ‘spring’. Directions… oh, you want them, do you? :O)

Directions:

  • Card base is 4 1/4 x 5 12 – (here I used Petal Pink)
  • Layer 2 is same color of card stock cut 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 scored at 2 3/4 and 4 1/8. The first fold is mountain and the next is valley. Burnish.
  • Cut a piece of DSP (here I used Delightfully Eclectic DSP) 1 1/8 x 4 and adhere to the left side of the card base, giving about a 1/4″ edge.
  • Adhere Layer 2 so it is centered on the card base itself, giving about 1/8″ edge to the DSP
  • Add a strip 1 1/8 x 4 to the card base on the right side, not overlapping Layer 2.
  • HINT: the 1 1/8 x 4 strips could be an embossed panel or DSP
  • Time to make the ‘springs’:
    • cut 3 pieces 3/4 x 3 1/2 and score each the same: 3/4, 1 1/8, 1 1/2, 2 1/4, 2 5/8, 3. Each strip will look as though there are 2 m’s. Burnish.
    • add tear n tape to the inside on the short end
    • adhere over longer end slipping longer end to the fold line. Refer to photos
Stampin' Up! Springboard fun fold, springs.1
Stampin' Up! Springboard fun fold spring.2
Stampin' Up! Springboard fun fold spring together

These end up looking like m’s adhered together :O) Attach 2 of these to the 2 1/8 end of Layer 2 so they are about 1″ from top & bottom of panel.

Stampin' Up! Springboard fun fold, springs attached

Now it’s time to put the rest of the card together.

  • Cut a piece of Delightfully Eclectic DSP 4 x 4 and adhere to a piece of card stock 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. My larger piece is Basic White.
  • Without removing tear n tape on the two springs, place this front on the card base, centering it. Now you know it’s placement, attach to springs.

To complete my card front, I pulled out my Beautiful Balloons stamps and dies. On a piece of Basic White I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and die cut it with this very fun banner die from the Beautiful Balloons Dies. I added a length of Petal Pink ribbon from the Ribbon Combo Duo pack and attached it to the front panel with dimensionals. Notice the small stars on the banner? They were from die cutting the banner – I used my Crushed Curry marker to color them and with a dot of liquid glue added them below the sentiment. As an afterthought I added Wink of Stella to each star for a bit of sparkle. I thought it added the perfect touch. :O)

Now let’s complete the inside:

  • Stamp the daisy from Cheerful Daisies stamp set in Petal Pink ink. Die cut the daisy with the appropriate Cheerful Daisy Dies.
  • Die cut the daisy center using the Cheerful Daisy Dies from a piece of Crushed Curry and add to the daisy center.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Beautiful Balloons stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink on a Basic White piece. Die cut with the pretty banner die from Cheerful Daisy Dies. Adhere die cut daisy to the banner with liquid adhesive.
  • There is one more ‘spring’… attach it to the back of the banner, centering it. Add this to the inside of the card so that when the card is closed, the banner with the daisy does not show.
Stampin' Up! Springboard fun fold.2

I also added a piece of 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 Basic White card stock above the daisy banner so I could write my message on it. This was such a fun card to create! I enjoyed making the fun fold and the springs add a fun touch of bouncy & lightheartedness.

OK, the envelope, which I kept easy, I stamped the daisy in Petal Pink ink using a stamp from, what else, Cheerful Daisies stamp set. The center is stamped in Crushed Curry ink using Cheerful Daisies stamp set. I used my Calypso Coral marker to add a few whimsical dots.

Stampin' Up! Mini September - December 2023 Catalog

Stampin’ Up! Hey Chuck Fun Fold

Hello Saturday! We had a couple of days of wonderful temps and now we are back to humidity. Ugh. Well, this is summer and I’m not going to wish it away! Let’s take a peek at my card for today.

Stampin' Up! Hey Chuck Fun Fold

I’m going to confess, I don’t know the name of this fun fold and it needs a name. Help me out here, folks – let’s name it! The card base is 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 2 1/2, 3 3/4, 6 3/4 and 8 1/4. Burnish the folds in an accordion style: mountain, valley, mountain, valley.

Stampin' Up! Hey Chuck Fun Fold top view.

I used Gray Granite for my card base. The next layer is Basic White with a layer of DSP: I used Subtles and Neutrals 6×6 DSP. How these layers are attached is important: leaving a border of the card base in each case.

Stampin' Up! Hey Chuck Fun Fold.1
Stampin' Up! Hey Chuck Fun Fold.2
Stampin' Up! Hey Chuck Fun Fold.3

In the first photo, the card base border is about 1/4″ on the left, top & bottom, with the excess free. In the second photo the same is true, 1/4″ from scoreline on left and 1/4″ top & bottom b order. The final panel is smaller and the layer is Pool Party with Subtles 6×6 DSP in Pool Party.

Now let’s decorate each panel:

  • Panel 1: The circle is die cut from Pool Party using the Stylish Shapes Dies and adhered in the center. The chicken and skateboard (from Hey Chuck stamp set) are stamped in Memento ink on Basic White and colored with Stampin’ Blends: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Gray Granite, Lemon Lolly and Pecan Pie (skateboard). Both were die cut with the Hey Chuck Dies, dimensionals added and adhered to the center of the circle. The sentiment is also from Hey Chuck stamp set and stamped in Memento ink then die cut with the Gorgeously Made banner die and added with dimensionals. Three Glossy Dots Assortment in Daffodil Delight were added for sparkle.
  • Panel 2: Subtles 6×6 DSP in Gray Granite to the Basic White panel. Die cut the rising sun from Lemon Lolly card stock using the Hey Chuck Dies and color with a bit of Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends. Stamp the fence from Hey Chuck stamp set on a scrap of One Horse Open Sleigh 6×6 DSP (ONLINE EXCLUSIVES) in Memento ink and die cut with die from Hey Chuck Dies. Adhere the fence with dimensionals then slip the rising sun behind adhering with liquid glue. The final step for this panel is the sentiment stamped in Memento ink using the Hey Chuck stamp set.
  • Panel 3: Pool Party card stock with Subtles 6×6 DSP in Pool Party layered together. The birthday cake from Hey Chuck stamp set is stamped in Memento ink on a Basic White scrap and colored with Stampin’ Blends: Lemon Lolly, Pool Party and Wink of Stella on the icing. This was die cut with the smallest circle die from Stylish Shapes Dies and adhered with liquid glue. The sentiment banner was stamped on Basic White using another stamp from Hey Chuck stamp set and Memento ink. It was die cut with a banner die from Nested Essentials Dies, dimensionals added to the back and attached. The ribbon is Grosgrain Ribbon in Pool Party added under the banner with glue dots. Three Glossy Dots Assortment in Pool Party were added to the banner for more sparkle… and the card was done.
Stampin' Up! Hey Chuck
Fun Fold card & envelope

For the envelope… more Subtles 6×6 DSP in Pool Party was added to the flap and trimmed to fit. Another chicken from Hey Chuck stamp set was stamped in Memento ink on the envelope front and colored with Stampin’ Blends: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly and Gray Granite. HINT: When coloring with Stampin’ Blends on an envelope, always slip a heavy card stock inside to prevent color bleeding through to the back of the envelope. :O)

Fun, bright card, right? Ok, what else is going on in the Stampin’ Up! world…

Stampin’ Up! Earthen Textures Bundle

Good morning sweet folks. It’s mid-week and a gorgeous 58 degree morning. This is pretty surprising since a week ago it remained between 87-92 at night. This cool is quite a reprieve. My card today uses a ‘new to me’ bundle that’s been sitting on my desk begging for use.

Stampin' Up! Earthen Textures Masculine card

My card base is Copper Clay 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. I’ve added a mat of Gray Granite 4 x 5 1/4 and a layer of Earthen Elegance 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 to the card front. I cut a strip of Gray Granite 3/4 x 4 1/4 and added it about 2″ from the bottom. Then I got busy die cutting using the Earthen Textures Dies: more Earthen Elegance DSP for some “grasses”; Rose Gold Specialty DSP for two fronds and the ‘xx’ pattern on the strip, and this gorgeous large leaf in Very Vanilla. Once these pieces were die cut, I began layering: the two ‘xx’ patterns were adhered to the strip – one on each end; the two grasses (one of them trimmed), then the fronds and finally the large leaf (this on dimensionals). I tied a bow with Bakers Twine Essential Pack in gray and attached it with liquid glue to the large leaf. While this was drying, I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink then sprinkled White Embossing Powder over it and heat set – all on a strip of Copper Clay 1 x 3. The sentiment comes from Earthen Textures stamp set. I die cut with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies and adhered it with double dimensionals over the large leaf & bow. And the front was complete.

Stampin' Up! Earthen Elegance Masculine card inside

For the inside: Copper Clay ink and one of the wonderful leaf stamps from Earthen Textures stamp set, stamped on a Very Vanilla panel (3 7/8 x 5 18) and adhered to a Gray Granite 4 x 5 1/4 and added to the cards inside.

Stampin' Up! Earthen Textures Masculine card & envelope

The envelope got more of the Earthen Elegance DSP on the flap and the same leaf stamp from Earthen Textures stamp set in Copper Clay ink on the front. This would make an elegant masculine card!

I have to say, I don’t know why I waited so long to play with this bundle. It’s gorgeous. The dies, die cut so cleanly and they are delicate yet more than that. And the leaves, fronds – love, love.

If you would like to purchase these products and play too, you may do that here. Just make certain when you’re checking out that my name is at the top as your demonstrator. THANKS! f your order is over $50, please use my HOST CODE 3QH63UB7 so I can send to you a SU! item valued to $10.

Stampin’ Up! Double Pop-Up in Earthen Elegance

Good Sunday morning! Wow – it’s a beautiful c-o-o-l 65 this morning! I’ll take it. My card today is a very fun Pop-Up card that’s really pretty easy & quick. It’s a birthday card for a gentleman and I used He’s All That stamp set for the sentiments and Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper.

Stampin' Up! Double Pop-Up in Earthen Elegance

This is a bit like a Z-fold card: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 card base scored at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4. You can see in the photo how to fold it. I used the Earthen Elegance DSP for the mat layer as well as the top layer. It saves on the weight of the card.

Stampin' Up! Double Pop-Up card in progress

The photo at left shows the mat layers in place: the front and the inside sections. The next step is the inside pop-up 4 x 5 1/2 scored @ 1/2, 1, 2, & 2 1/2. Burnish gently since this is DSP, then add tear n’ tape to sections 1, 3, & 4. Remove cover on Tear n’ Tape in section 1 & fold i8n to itself to create the pop-up. Remove Tear n Tape covers in section 3 and attach to inside back panel of card. Remove cover of last strip of Tear n Tape and adhere to 2nd panel of card.

Stampin' Up! Pop-Up card.1
Stampin' Up Pop-Up card.2
Stampin' Up! Pop-Up card.3
Stampin' Up! Pop-Up card insert

This last photo shows the insert (pop-up) looking from the top and how it fits in the card. Now it’s time to decorate the pop-up. I die cut a Basic White piece with the Deckled Rectangle Dies then stamped the image from He’s The Man stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink, adhered it to the pop-up so it had an even border on three sides. I added four 2023-2025 In Color Dots in Pebbled Path under the stamped image.

To create the front image, I used a smaller Deckled Rectangle Die to die cut another Basic White piece to stamp another image from He’s All That stamp set in Pebbled Path ink. I layered a slightly larger piece of Earthen Elegance in Pretty Peacock to this to carry out the ‘frame’. I turned this piece over to know exactly where to add the tear n tape to adhere it to the front section (see photo). Then I removed the cover of the tear n tape & added to the front so you could see a continuous frame of color.

Stampin' Up! Double Pop-up card front

When the card is closed it shows the front panel and the poop-up panel framing it. That’s what I wanted to do. The next photo shows the card open.

Stampin' Up! Double Pop-Up card open

You can see that I also added four Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio in Pretty Peacock under the sentiment. For the envelope.. more of the Earthen Elegance DSP in Pretty Peacock on the flap and several stamped stars from Alphabest stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink. At the last minute I decided to decorate the card back so I would have a place to write. I stamped the Happy in Pretty Peacock ink using the Biggest Wish stamp set. The numbers were done with the Alphabest stamp set and punched with the Best Label Punch. And now the card was complete!

Computers. Ugh. Mine was out of commission all day yesterday. Praying today will be a better day all around :O)

My card today is another scene using the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper. But it is super simple, no real embellishments.

Stampin' Up! Horse & Sleigh Simple Card

This particular DSP is suited for either a Mossy Meadow background or Crumb Cake, or even Early Espresso. I wanted a light color and stuck with Crumb Cake for the card base and adhered the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP directly to it. It is such a serene scene. From Basic White and the Horse & Sleigh Dies, I cut two ‘mounds’ of snow and adhered those near the bottom. I stamped the horse & sleigh image in Memento ink and colored it with several Stampin’ Blends: Lost Lagoon, Light Cherry Cobbler, Light Smoky Slate and SU 100 for the skin tone. Then I die cut the piece with the Horse & Sleigh Dies and added it to the card front with dimensionals. I die cut the sleigh rungs from Silver Foil Specialty Paper and adhered those with dots of liquid glue.

Stampin' Up! Horse & Sleigh, inside

For the inside, I took a panel of Fresh As A Daisy DSP, stamped Boho Blue snowflakes with the appropriate stamp from Horse & Sleigh stamp set and adhered this to the inside of the card. I took a piece of Basic White and die cut it with the Deckled Rectangle Dies, stamped the sentiment from Brightest Glow stamp set and added that to the inside of the card.

For the envelope: another piece of Fresh As A Daisy DSP and the fun snowflake stamp from Horse & Sleigh stamp set + Boho ink, then adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit.

The Inked Botanicals 6×6 DSP is one of my favorite packs of papers. I guess it’s the clear colors.. And I like the designs too. :O) My card base is Calypso Coral 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. After scoring, I placed the piece in my paper trimmer with the short side up and cut @ 2 1/8″ to the score line. Then turning the paper longwise, I cut along the upper score line and removed the front top half. I cut two coordinating pieces of the DSP (2 x 5 3/8), adding them to the card base: one on the lower front and one on the upper inside. I stamped the leaf image from Inked and Tiled stamp set that coordinates with this Designer Series Paper, in Lost Lagoon ink on a Very Vanilla piece. Using the largest square of the Stylish Shapes Dies, I cut the piece. I cut a slightly larger square with my paper trimmer from Calypso Coral and adhered the two together. I attached this square to the lower card front panel, centering it and using dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment, also from the Inked & Tiled stamp set, on a scrap of Very Vanilla in Calypso Coral ink and die cut it with another of the Stylish Shapes Dies and adhered it with liquid glue. I adhered three gems from Glossy Dots Assortment in Pool Party.

For the inside of the card, I cut a panel of Very Vanilla 2 x 5 3/8 and stamped it with the pretty single flower from Inked & Tiled stamp set in Crushed Curry ink. I adhered this to the lower inside of the card. This simple flower leaves plenty of room for me to write my message.

For the envelope, more of the Inked Botanicals DSP was adhered to the flap & trimmed to fit.

Stampin’ Up! And Paper Pumpkin

WooHoo – this is a favorite of the more recent monthly Paper Pumpkin kits :O) It’s called Fun In the Sun for the July kit. It’s a side step card and very summery and fun. The three versions look like this:

Stampin' Up! July PP.1
Stampin' Up! JUl '23 PP.2
Stampin' Up! July '23 PP.3

Aren’t these fun? Notice thew left portion is taller than the rest and there is a slit, cut, division for the folds on the right. Let me show you side views so you get the idea of a side step card.

Stampin' Up! July '23 PP side view.3

By looking at the side view, it is clear of the various ‘steps’ or folds that can be decorated. Here, on each ‘step’, the images are adhered. The very back ‘step’ could have been kept loose and used as am bookmark or tag. I decided not to do that and prepared no alternatives. I thought these really cute. And the envelopes were colorful as well…
