Stampin’ Up! Sneaky Peek Desert Details Bundle for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to a Tuesday hop with Amy’s Krew! The theme is ‘celebrate’ and we can interpret that however…,I’ve created what I consider a masculine card with this delightfully fun Desert Details Bundle available in the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog, so Jan 5! I can’t believe I’m writing 2023 on stuff – ‘cuz I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!

The Desert Details Bundle is very Aztec’y’, different & delightful (‘cuz it is different). I’ve used Designer Series Papers from the suite of products and an embellishment from the suite as well: Delicate Desert 12×12 DSP & Dry-Brushed Metallic Specialty DSP (also 12×12); Gold Faceted Adhesive-Backed Sequins .

Here ya go – now you can see the inner DSP a bit better. Look at that wonderful detail! The colors in the various papers of this particular DSP are Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Petal Pink, Gray Granite & Cajun Craze. The polka dot in the background is one of the papers, as is the shiny (this is the Dry-Brushed Specialty DSP!) AND the center paper as well (Delicate Desert DSP). Aren’t they F-U-N? And you see I added a copper trim. And those wonderful embellishments are Gold Faceted Adhesive-Backed Sequins. Here’s what I created on the inside.

Here you can see two of the very decorative long stamps – stamped in Gray Granite. The sentiment is also part of the Desert Details stamp set and is stamped in Soft Succulent. The very thin strips were remnants from the copper die cut on the front and I had to use them. Unfortunately the more detailed strip isn’t on straight, but can see how very cool it is.

For the envelope I stamped this wonderful detail stamp in Gray Granite near the edge of the envelope, then added more of the Delicate Desert DSP to the flap. This is just a wonderful masculine card. I love the layers of it and all the detail, yet it can so easily be sent to a man. Let’s take a quick peek at the bundle and a closer look at the DSP used.

Stampin’ Up! Dainty Delight Sneaky Peek

I played with this new bundle (Dainty Delight) a bit ago, but not like this. This time I stamped all the stamps and die cut all the dies, mostly to see what was in the set, how they go together, how to use. And since I hadn’t really done this to this extent in the past, I found it very helpful.

In the third photo you can clearly see how dies coordinate with a good many of the stamps in the bundle. Remember, this set will be available in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog that goes live Jan 5, 2023! And, in keeping with this set, I used a coordinating DSP that is actually a FREE item with a $50 purchase during the Jan/ Feb Sale-a-bration. And here are those papers.

Stampin' Up! Dainty Flowers DSP, watercolor-ish side

Aren’t these colors just lovely? The paper I used for the card I’m sharing is in the 2nd photo, far left, but another section. The coordinating colors are Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Starry Sky & Rich Razzleberry. I’ve also included Pear Pizzazz on my card. Let’s take a look.

Card stock colors: Blushing Bride for the dainty flowers; Crushed Curry, daisies, Fresh Freesia for another small flower, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive for the background leaf fronds. The ribbon is Old Olive Twill Ribbon from the Combo Pack & Linen Thread. I also added some bling: Iridescent Pearls, Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls and Brushed Brass Butterflies. The card base is Old Olive and the stamping uses Soft Suede ink.

Stampin’ Up! Adorable Owls Fun Fold

Oh my goodness… I received some preorder items from the Jan-April Mini Catalog along with a few Jan/Feb Sale-a-bration items and I’m having SO MUCH FUN! Today’s card features Dandy Designs DSP and the Adorable Owls stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalog – AND it’s a super easy Fun Fold. Let’s take a peek…

Isn’t this little guy just the cutest! And the sentiment ‘Hoot! Hoot!’ is also from the Adorable Owls stamp set. Actually it’s a partial sentiment… meaning I used some retired Washi tape to cover the part I didn’t want to use. I also used some White 6×6 Glimmer Paper for the upper DSP. The other DSP is called Dandy Designs DSP and is a large pack of 30 sheets of 12×12. The dots are the reverse of the sideways stripes. :O) Let me share with you how to make this fun fold design…

Cut the card base (here it is Balmy Blue) 5 1/2 x 7 1/4 and score @ 4 1/4
Cut another panel of Balmy Blue 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 (that’s the front largest square)
Cut DSP:
- 2 3/4 x 5 1/4 (here I used the White 6×6 Glimmer Paper)
- 4 x 5 1/4 for inside panel
- 3 1/4 x 3 14
Adhere panels to the appropriate places with adhesive of choice.
Stamp the owl from Adorable Owls stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White panel
Color owl with Stampin’ Blends
- Light & Dark Soft Suede for the body of the owl
- Dark Daffodil Delight for the eyes
- Dark Basic Black – for the smaller portion of the eyes
- Light Basic Black for the beak + Color Lifter for highlighting
- Dark Pumpkin Pie for the bow tie
Chalk Marker (white) for the eye highlight
Die cut owl panel with Stylish Shapes Dies
Adhere owl to the square panel, centering, with dimensionals
Stamp the sentiment from Adorable Owls stamp set, covering unwanted portion, in Memento Black
Adhere to square panel with mini dimensionals. The right end of the sentiment will need stacked dimensionals
Adhere completed square to top panel only
Add Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems in Balmy Blue

For the inside… cut another Basic White Square 3 1/4 x 3 1/4. Stamp owl as listed above & color. Stamp sentiment using the Inspired Thoughts stamp set in Memento Black ink. To adhere… open card, lay this panel on the upper panel right side down & upside down, centering it on the square. Add adhesive and close the bottom portion of the card on the piece. Bingo – attached properly 😀👍

For the envelope… more of the same Balmy Blue & White stripe pattern from Dandy Designs DSP – on the flap of course. I chose not to stamp anything on the envelope front. This card was sent already… to a man friend who recently had surgery. I hope he likes it – and he feels better too!

Now, what you need to know about this fun fold… this was a landscape design. It can also be portrait. I’ll share one of those in a couple of days 😁

The Balmy Blue and also the Basic White card stocks are part of the 2022-2023 Annual catalog. The Blends, Memento Black ink and Chalk Marker are in that same catalog as is Inspired Thoughts stamp set. The Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems and White Glimmer 6×6 are in the Jul-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog – as Real Red & White 6×6 Glimmer pack. Stampin’ Up! Fabulous Frames & By the Bay Specialty 6×6 DSP

Good Monday Morning! Oh my goodness… family was here for a couple of days and it was so so incredibly good! Lots of work keeping up with all the dirty dishes and constantly making food, but so worth it. Grateful, thankful, feeling very blessed.

Today’s card uses more of the Fabulous Frames Dies & By the Bay 6×6 Specialty DSP – and in a more feminine birthday card. The colors are so perfect for this young person.

The sentiment used the Let’s Celebrate embossing folder again, and this time I not only cut it down, but cut it apart :O) I die cut two frames using the Fabulous Frames Dies, one in Basic White and another in Pool Party, which is a coordinating color to the paper. I wanted the outside frame in the Basic White and the inner portion in Pool Party – now I have extra to play with another day . The card has a layer of the By the Bay Specialty 6×6 DSP on the Night of Navy card base, then the Fabulous Frame Die cut was adhered with liquid glue. The Pool Party panel is on dimensionals; the Happy Birthday is adhered with liquid glue, and the Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems were added ~ and the card front is really complete.

For the inside, a b it of a strip of the By the Bay 6×6 Specialty DSP along the edge of the Basic White panel, which was then adhered to the inside of the Night of Navy card base. I left the inside blank ‘cuz I have lots of things to say to her. ❤️

For the envelope, there was a short panel of the By the Bay 6×6 Specialty DSP remaining, so I used it on the front of the envelope. I took another piece of Pool Party card stock and embossed it with the Let’s Celebrate embossing folder and adhered that to the flap. Durn – forgot to take a photo!

At any rate – this By the BaySpecialty DSP is stunning and gorgeous and has a beachy feel to it – so versatile. It will be available in the Jan-Apr 2023 Annual Catalog.

Happy THANKSGIVING! WOOHOO! HELLO TURKEY 😀 Yum… We will be celebrating with family on Saturday, not today. Our kids are with their spouses families today, then come here to celebrate with us. I’m thankful they want to come and it will be so good to have us all together. So MUCH for which to be thankful. Amen & amen.

What I’m sharing with you today is cards I have made with the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack and Cards & Envelopes. I haven’t quite finished the pack yet, but here are twelve of them ready to go :O)

I’ve used elements from the Santa Express Mem’ries & More Card Pack and a few other items from my stash. The coordinating colors are Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce, Basic White, Mint Macaron &Pool Party ~ so you’ll see card stocks cut to fit that utilize those colors of card stock. I’ve also used VersaMark ink & White Embossing Powder, Pearlized Enamel Effects (in red), 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine (Sweet Sorbet & White), Deckled Rectangle Dies, Glittered Organdy Ribbon, Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins in Red, Green & White, Snowfall Accents Puff Paint, Wintry 3D Embossing Folder (pine fronds), Real Red 3/8″ Ribbon Combo Pack, Hope & Peace Stamp set with Shaded Spruce ink, and a sentiment from the October ’22 Paper Pumpkin kit. This is such a great card pack, with matching cards & envelopes. Thank you Amy Koenders for the gift of these for attending On Stage! As I said, I have a few more to make.

Stampin’ Up! Dainty Delight Sympathy

Good Tuesday morning.This is Thanksgiving week and I am just so thankful: for family, for fiends, for a warm home, for grocery stores – you name it – lots. My heart is full. There is sadness too, for today is another sympathy card. AND it’s made with another of the new stamp sets in the Jan-April 2023 Mini Catalog. The bundle is Dainty Delight and it’s coordinating Dainty Delight Dies (don’t you love having the dies named the same as the stamp set? They belong together!) Anyway – I didn’t use the dies today, just the stamp set – and I took a photo of the stamp set but not the dies. :O)

Just look at those fabulous fonts – I like the cursive mixed with the straight – and these are delicate too. And the flowers are sweet.

I’ve used anew DSP called Dainty Flowers DSP- and yep – it coordinates with this stamp set. But guess what? It’s FREE with a $50 purchase beginning Jan 2023. Hate to wait until then to get these sweet items? Join my team and they can be available to order Dec 1. ! You may do that here.

One of the coordinating colors is Blushing Bride, so after cuting the strips I adhered them to Blushing Bride panel, wrapped the Metallic Woven Ribbon in Starry Sky around twice and tied a bow. On a Basic White scrap I stamped the border for the sentiment using Starry Sky ink and Lovely & Lasting stamp set.

I stamped the sentiment itself using the Peaceful Moments stamp set and Starry Sky ink. I then used the Lasting Label Punch to punch it out, put dimensionals on it and adhered it to the card front. I took the completed Blushing Bride panel, put dimensionals on it and attached it to the A2 card base , Mossy Meadow.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment in Starry Sky ink using the Inspired Thoughts stamp set. I then stamped this beautiful bouquet in Memento ink and colored it with Stampin’ Blends: Pale Papaya & Light Mossy Meadow. And the floral comes from… Dainty Delight stamp set, of course! This Basic White panel was added to a Blushing Bride piece then right into the inside of the Mossy Meadow card base. And the card was done.

For the envelope I used the very delicate grass & flower stamp from Dainty Delight and stamped across the bottom of the envelope, using Mossy Meadow ink. The flap got more of the same Dainty Flowers DSP. Remember – it’s FREE come January 😀.

Stampin’ Up! Something Fancy Sympathy Fun Fold

Good Monday to you. Sympathy cards are so very difficult and yet, necessary. Have I said that before? I tend to make sympathy cards for a specific person – and maybe that’s why it’s hard for me. I’m remembering the person who passed and get focused on the memories. So I struggle a bit. This card is in memory of a special woman, one who battled Lewey Body Dementia for six very long years. She and her husband have been so amazingly strong. And now her battle is over and she is at peace.

I’m using some new products from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog:the Something Fancy stamp set and coordinating Something Fancy Dies. Notice how Stampin’ Up! is now using same names for coordinating stamp sets & dies?! YAY, YAY! Thank you Stampin’ Up! Here is the stamp set & coordinating dies. I’m excited to have some wonderful banner/ sentiment dies.

The DSP is Fitting Florets 12×12 DSP – available right now. It coordinates with the Framed Florets bundle – the Fitting Florets Collection. Let me tell you how to make this beautiful card.

Begin with a standard 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 card base and score on the long side 1″ and 4 1/4″. Fold back the 1″ area on itself. Decorate panels… I used the Fitting Florets DSP and also used the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder in two areas. The front embossed piece is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. After embossing, it was adhered to a larger panel 2 3/4 x 3 3/4. I used one of the dies in the Framed Florets Dies to trim out a flower from the Fitting Florets 12×12 DSP. I stamped the sentiment from Something Fancy stamp set and die cut it with one of the dies in the Something Fancy Dies. I adhered the die cut floral bouquet to the front of this sentiment banner, put dimensionals on the back of both and attached it to the rectangle. The rectangle was adhered to the 1″ panel, centering in top to bottom. Really like this Quatrefoil EF as a backdrop for the sentiment & floral bouquet.

For the inside on the left, a panel of the Fitting Florets 12×12 DSP. On the right a 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strip embossed with the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder adhered to the far right edge. I then stamped the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stamp set in Night of Navy ink. I added Adhesive-Backed Swirls~ and the card was done. I really like how this card turned out: beautiful for a beautiful woman.

For the envelope – super easy – more of the Fitting Florets DSP adhered to the envelope flap & trimmed to fit.

Stampin’ Up! Convention 2022

Just attended the IN-PERSON Stampin’ Up! Convention in Jacksonville FL. What fun… several team mates were there so we chatted, created and watched presenters. Here are some fun photos.

The photo above is the logo on the stage. The photo on right is our table. Behind the ‘screen’ is the ‘make & take’ we opened later & created. But we were’t allowed to open the boxes at this time. I’ll have photos of that later 😁

And here’s what we were given in our gift box. The stamp set on the left is from the Sale-a-bration catalog. The stamp set on the right is in the Jan- April 2023 Mini Catalog. and is a background stamp that will also be extra fun. The spiral notebook is awesome for taking notes now or… later and there’s a pretty pen to go with it :O). There are a few pins that folks like to attach to their clothes – or trade. AND – there’s a green cross body bag as well.
