Hello Sunday! We are slated to have a pretty nice day today – after a drenching rain yesterday that we desperately needed. Those fires in South Jersey did not affect us personally, but they weren’t far. Lots of businesses destroyed & 15,000 acres burned. We needed this rain to put out remaining hot spots on the forests floor. Sigh.
Today’s card is about new life – a baby boy – and I’ve used the carrying over Cutest Onsie Bundle to make it, and Balmy Blue.
I began with by stamping a Balmy Blue panel (4 x 5 1/4) with these cute ‘clouds’ (think dreamy 🙂 and Balmy Blue ink. I then stamped the ‘onsie’ with Memento ink and with a Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends, colored the neck, sleeves and bottom edges. I also stamped the star in Memento ink. I die cut the onsie and set it aside. Next I stamped the sentiment on two pieces of Lemon Lolly card stock, inking just a portion of the sentiment for each stamping. It was stamped in Azure Afternoon ink I adhered the strips with liquid glue then paced the onsie on dimensionals and overlaid the strips The embellishments are Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems in Lemon Lolly. This panel was adhered to Basic White 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 then attached to a card base of Balmy Blue (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4) with dimensionals.
For the inside of the card, I stamped the onsie with Memento ink on a piece of Subtles 6×6 DSP (Balmy Blue of course) and while die cutting, I also die cut the pocket for the onsie. I adhered it directly to the Basic White inset (4 x 5 1/4) then stamped the sentiment in Azure Afternoon ink and the hearts too. This was attached to the inside of Balmy Blue card base for the completed card.
For the envelope, more of the Subtles 6×6 DSP in Balmy Blue was added to the flap and trimmed to fit. This added touch just unifies every project – love this! And there ya go… a baby boy card for a new little one.

Hi Ya’ll. Ha, I’m not from the south… I just had to say it :O) Today’s card was supposed to be another fall card. It’s all ready & everything. But… I got an order for a baby card and decided THIS would be the post for today.
This is a fun fold… Half Swing Card or Pop-out Swing Card – you know, for Fun Fold Friday 😁 The sweet plaid is from Hue of Happiness DSP and is adhered to Flirty Flamingo card stock. The square is the 2nd largest of the Stylish Shapes Dies and I die cut the square AFTER adhering the DSP. But let me explain… I did not want adhesive all over the die, so, I adhered the DSP just on the right side to the card stock. After die cutting, I added more adhesive to hold the DSP in place, including on the die cut square panel. It was at this point I added the additional piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock, then the swing square, then decorated.
Directions:
Cut a piece of Flirty Flamingo 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and score @ 4 1/4. (This is an A2 card panel)
Cut DSP to fit entire card front. Adhere just on right side to the A2 Flirty Flamingo card front
Die cut square, off-center. Because of the DSP/ card stock layers, I ran my square through twice (forward then back)
Remove square, adhere rest of DSP in place. Be sure to adhere DSP to the square as well. (Ask me how I know that!)
At this point you could opt to make a ‘frame’ for the square on the card front. I didn’t want that for this card so won’t give directions for that process ~ maybe in a future card.
Cut another piece of Flirty Flamingo 6 1/2 x 5 1/4 and score on long side @ 2, 4 & 6. Burnish well.
On the 1/2″ edge, make a slit to the score line down from top about 3/4″ Do same at bottom. Trim away the area in between so just ‘tabs’ remain. (I should have taken a picture & didn’t!)
Adhere the scored piece w/ 2″ area to the inside of the card back, 1/8″ from edge. I found it helpful to keep this scored panel closed to adhere it.
With the tabs in the ‘valley’ fold, put glue on tabs, close the card and they will adhere to card inside front.
With card closed, adhere square in place with glue only on the additional scored panel seen through the open square.
It should look like the photo below… sorry about the shadows!
Cut a Basic White piece 1 7/8 X 5 1/8, stamp & decorate. Adhere to inside. See photo.

The elephants, flower, butterfly & balloon were stamped with Memento Black ink on A Basic White piece, colored with Stampin’ Blends and die cut with the Elephant Dies. The elephant on the square was adhered with dimentionals, while the lower elephant was attached with liquid adhesive. The flower was attached with dabs of liquid glue; the butterfly with a mini dimensional; the balloon with a dimensional only under the balloon; the grass with liquid glue.
Stampin’ Blends used were: Dark Flirty Flamingo & Light Granny Apple Green for the flower; Light Tahitian Tide & Light Daffodil Delight for the butterfly; Smoky slate, both Light & Dark for the elephant. A bit of Colo0r Lifter was used when necessary for highlight. The balloon was covered in Wink of Stella. The ribbon: Glittered Organdy Ribbon, was added with a glue dot under the knot.
For the envelope… more of the Hues of Happiness DSP on the flap and three baloons stamped in Memento Black ink. Stamp set is Elephant Parade. The balloons were colored with Stampin’ Blends: Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo & Tahitian Tide. DONE!
I THINK THIS CARD MAY NEED SOME CLASSIC MATTE DOTS IN WHITE… what do you think? Or something… anyway – you see it as it is right now.

Brrr. It’s 21 degrees this morning and our poor rhododendrons are desperate for warmth. We had a teaser of spring the other day – 70 degrees! But it was only for the day. And we are having what feels like arctic weather once again. As I said… Brrr.
My card today uses the All For Baby stamp set with its coordinating Baby Clothes Dies. I confess… this was my first play with this bundle ~ and I loved it. The individual requesting the card said it should be simple, for a new grandmother and the baby was a boy. Sounds easy enough, right? And it was!

How to:
Thick Basic White card base 8 1/2 x 5 12 scored at 4 1/4.
Regular Basic White 4 x 5 14 run through the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and adhered directly to the card front
Subtles 6×6 DSP in Balmy Blue was used for the next layer ~ die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and adhered to the card front with dimensionals, centering it.
I used a scrap of Basic White to die cut the onesy with the Baby Clothes Dies, put mini dimensionals on the back and adhered it
With Balmy Blue ink and this perfect sentiment from All For Baby, I stamped on a Basic White scrap. I die cut it with Bouquet of Love Dies ‘cuz I really like this banner die :O). I added a 1/4″ strip of Balmy Blue to it with dimensionals and adhered the strip directly to the Subtles 6×6 panel.
For a final touch, three Holiday Rhinestone Gems in dark blue were addded.

The inside:
I added a 1/4″ strip of the Subtles 6×6 DSP in Balmy Blue near the bottom of the Basic White panel 3 1/4 x 4 1/2
I stamped the bib from All For Baby stamp set in Balmy Blue, then took a Balmy Blue Marker and with the fine tip, made little stitch marks. They barely show but I know I did it!
Add the panel to the inside of the card and done…

Love how cute this card is and seems to fit the need: simple, for a grandmother and baby boy :O) And just think… it could be done in so many colors ~ Highland Heather, So Saffron, Pale Papaya, the list goes on and on ~ and there are some really fun dies and stamps in this bundle.
