Stampin’ Up! Petal Park Bundle and a Fun Fold

Good Friday morning! It’s raining here, gray & overcast. UGH. But I have a card for you that will hopefully brighten your day. I’ve chosen to make another Diamond Flip Fold card – just because I found it so much fun – and it makes a statement. I’ve used the Regency Park 6×6 DSP , the Petal Park Bundle (includes the Petal Park Builder Punch) and the Charming Sentiment Bundle (includes the Sentiment Silhouette Dies). The card base is Night of Navy and I’ve used Balmy Blue as a background behind the DSP and the stamped diamond on the card front. There is not a lot of writing room as this card shows, but in lieu of DSP on the inside, you could easily have a layer of Basic White to have more room. What’s nice – make it your own by changing it up. You will notice in the photos below that I have not put any DSP on the diamond ends of the card on the inside – as I did on the previous card. It seemed too busy, so I left it off – and, I like it better.

You can see in each of the photos I have used Balmy Blue as a base layer over the Night Of Navy, then either the Basic White or the Regency Park 6×6 DSP. These papers are just so pretty they need showing off! The front Basic White panel is stamps from the Petal Park stamp set. The leaves were done in Shaded Spruce stamped off once – after stamping the outline in Memento ink. The flowers were stamped on a separate panel in Memento ink, then I used the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends to color the petals + the Color Lifter to ‘move’ the Balmy Blue colors. I found it better to use the Color Lifter to do that than the Blender Pen as that pen tends to ‘poill’ the paper. The floral centers are colored in Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. At this point the flowers were punched and added to the square (diamond) panel with dimensionals.

You can see in this photo above that I stamped the flowers in Balmy Blue (stamped off) to help me with placement for the punched flowers. :O)

Stampin’ Up! Happier Than Happy Fun Fold

Hello again. Guess what? I have another fun fold for you :O) In card class Thursday we made two fun folds ~ the one I posted yesterday with the Caroling Mice – a swing fold; and the other is the one I’m sharing with you today, made with Happier Than Happy stamp set. This could be masculine or a child’s card because of the colors & DSP. It could also be a woman’s card – it has flexibility.

See what I mean that this could be a child’s card? And these colors too are bright & cheery and wonderful together. Calypso Coral is the card stock base and Sahara Sand is the contrasting color. The DSP is from the Happier Than Happy 12 x 12 DSP pack. So – how to make this card…

Calypso Coral pieces: 5 1/2 x 11, scored on long side @ 4, 5 3/4, 7 1/2, 9 1/4; 5 x 2 1/2 scored at 2 1/2; 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 (inside panel)
Sahara Sand pieces: 2 1/4 x 2 14, 1 1/2 x 5 1/4, 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 – emboss all of these with the Timber 3D embossing folder
Basic White: 2 x 2 (sentiment panel for inside) + additional pieces for stamped items
DSP – Happier Than Happy 12 x 12: 1 1/2 x 5 1/4, cut 2

Begin by adhering pieces to panels 1,3 & 5: that’s DSP, Sahara Sand & Sahara Sand.

Adhere the square Sahara Sand piece to the left area on the scored 5 x 2 1/2 strip. Now adhere this strip to the front panel… with the card closed, place the left Sahara Sand portion on the front so it is equidistant from the left edge of the card & the right side of the card as well. Now, with the card folded accordian-style, adhere the right part of the 5 x 2 1/2 strip to panel 4. Adhere the additional DSP piece over top. Time to do some stamping/ decorating… stamp the front sentiment in Calypso Coral ink on Basic White using the Charming Sentiments stamp set; die cut with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouette Dies. Adhere to the front with mini dimensionals. Stamp the owl, stump and fox from Happier Than Happy stamp set on another Basic White scrap in Sahara Sand ink and die cut with the Happy Forest Friends Dies. Adhere in place as shown in photo. Stamp the inside sentiment (WOOHOO) from Charming Sentiments stamp set on the remaining Basic White 2 x 2 square in Sahara Sand ink and adhere to the inside. For the final touch, add the Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots. Turn card over & adhere a panel 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 in Basic White on the back for writing a sweet note. DONE!

Last but not least is the envelope… more of the same Happy Forest Friends DSP on the flap, adhered & trimmed to fit. For the front, stamp the cute owl from Happier Than Happy stamp set in Sahara Sand – and it’s all read for someones special birthday :O)

Stampin’ Up! Cottage Rose Watercolor Technique #4

Hello fellow stampers – it’s Saturday and we are into AUGUST! I cannot believe it – where did summer go? As I mentioned min a previous post, I held a watercolor techniques class and am sharing the creations as I complete them. Today’s is a Basic White notecard & envelope using watercolor technique #4. Do you remember what that was on the Stampin’ Up! video? Truth be told, I wouldn’t either if I hadn’t taken some serious notes 😁. Technique #4 is this: stamp the Fluid 100 watercolor paper with stamp & ink of choice; use the Water Painter to draw color into the image, limiting the amount of ink. My first image was the leaf branch from the Cottage Rose stamp set.

Today I stamped the single rose from that same stamp set in Polished Pink ink on Fluid 100 watercolor paper & using the small tip Water Painter, I drew the color into the image. Once dry I die cut it with the Cottage Flower Dies and I also die cut the leaf I had prepped for class. I adhered the two together with liquid glue and then lightly curled both the flower & leaves with my fingers.

Before getting too far ahead of myself, I adhered a panel of Abigail Rose DSP to a piece of Basic White, put dimensionals on the back and added it to a Basic White notecard. I die cut a circle with the Stylish Shapes Dies and Lovely Layers Vellum and adhered the two watercolored pieces with glue dots to the vellum. I stamped the sentiment in Smoky Slate on a Basic White scrap using the Charming Sentiments stamp set, then die cut it with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouettes Dies. I put a couple of mini dimensionals on the back and adhered it in place. The last couple of things: a Metallic Woven Ribbon bow in Sweet Sorbet was attached with a glue dot; three Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added for glam ~ and the card front was done.

For the inside, a simple sentiment from the Charming sentiments stamp set was added in Smoky slate ink. And for the envelope, a single rose from Cottage Rose stamp set stamped in Polished Pink on the flap and the front.

Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments Bundle w/ Pretty Prints and Sun Prints DSP

Happy Tuesday. I hope you have a day of fun planned. We take our English Springer to the groomer today – he’s looking a bit shaggy, and we just may pick up our boat from where we had it wintered over. The bottom needs to be scraped & painted every year. And well, with hubby’s back surgery just two months ago, we have to be extra careful. So wish us luck!

Today’s card is super easy – the DSP really does most of the work. The fun part is the sentiment. Charming Sentiments is a new bundle and the dies cut out every sentiment in the set, fairly closely and it’s cool – just sayin’ – this is a special bundle you want :O)

Charming Sentiments bundle w/ Pretty Prints & Sun Prints DSP.1

I used a Thick Basic White card base and covered the front with Pretty Prints DSP in Calypso Coral. I layered a panel of Sun Prints DSP 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 and adhered it directly to the front layer. I stamped this gorgeous font sentiment from Charming Sentiments stamp set in Starry Sky and die cut it with the Sentiment Silhouettes Dies. Love, love! Next I took my blending brush and Calypso Coral ink and added color to the die cut, then put dimensionals on the back. The ribbon is the 3/4″ Frayed Ribbon in White laid across the front for dimension, effect, texture – all those elements a card needs, and adhered it with several glue dots. Then I added the sentiment and finally for a bit of sparkle, three Solid Frosted Gems in Night of Navy – and the card front was done. Good masculine kind of card, right?

For the inside I added a strip of the Pretty Prints near the bottom of a Basic White panel. I stamped the sentiment – yep, from Charming Sentiments, in Night of Navy ink and once dry, used the Blending Brush to add some background color in Calypso Coral ink. The panel was added to the inside of the card with liquid glue and the card was done, done.

Remember a woman asked for a couple of cards for folks moving to their first new home? Well, this is the second card. More of the Pretty Prints DSP for the envelope flap and a sentiment for the front from – guess where- Charming Sentiments stamp set! And… stamped in Starry Sky ink. What’s not to like?!
