Stampin’ Up! Artfully Layered Fun Fold Thank You

Hello again! It’s Saturday… and I hope you have a day to relax a bit from the stresses of everyday obligations, AND an opportunity to play in your crafty place. :O) I’m sharing a fun fold today, an uneven gate fold card that is super easy to do. But first I want to share some snow photos of yesterday’s storm. We got about 6-8″ (it was hard to tell because it compacted ‘cuz it was a bit wet, not fluffy) and it was like waking in a wintry wonderland ~ and it kept coming for several more hours. ❄️

Charlie Brown tree on patio table
Kousa Dogwood in our back yard
Spruce in our front yard

Luckily our neighbor has a snowblower & cleared our driveway – so grateful ‘cuz the snow was heavy!

OK, the card… this goes out today to hubby’s sister who lives in Hawaii. She sent us homemade Baklava! This new DSP and coordinating stamp/ dies seemed perfect for her.

Artfully Layered Thank You.1

It’s obvious this is a lopsided, or perhaps we should say, uneven gate fold card. By scoring the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 card base at 2 3/4 & 7, this makes it uneven and just a bit different. Aren’t these fun dies too? The larger almost looks like the top of a pineapple :O) (IDEA!) It was die cut from Pear Pizzazz card stock using the Tropical Layers dies (10% off when purchasing the bundle!), then sponged on the edges with a sponge dauber and Old Olive ink. The front frond was die cut with Old Olive card stock and the veining was die cut with Just Jade card stock. Great color combination, don’t you think? The DSP layers are… Artfully Composed DSP – all of these products are new in the Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog. And what about that fun edge die! Yep – it’s from the same Tropical Layers die set. That was die cut in Basic Black card stock, same as the card base. I also used the Tailored Tag Punch to create the end for the thank you banner. I’ve also used Pale Papaya card stock for the backing of the Artfully Composed DSP. And the sentiment – yep, from the same Artfully Layered stamp set. I used the Classic Matte Dots in White to accent the sentiment on the front.

Let’s take a peek at the inside…

Artfully Layered thank you.2, inside

Do you see the fun hash marks? That’s from the Tropical Layers Dies! While it cut through the paper, it doesn’t have an edge to make a cutout. It’s perfect for adding texture and a little fun to a card. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Black ink and comes from the Artfully Layered stamp set.

Here’s what I did with the envelope…

Artfully Layered thank you.3

Here I used more of the Artfully Composed DSP for the envelope flap. For the front of the envelope I stamped this fun frond in Just Jade ink using the Artfully Layered stamp set. It adds to the tropical look of the other leaves on the DSP :O)

I can’t wait to see what you do with this fun stamp & die set AND the gorgeous DSP – and how you use this uneven gate fold idea to make it your own. Please do share with me!

Stampin’ Up! Pansy Patch & Note cards

New, new, new… Pansy Patch. Isn’t that a wonderful name for a stamp bundle? And the coordinating Designer Series Paper is just as wonderful. Here’s the bundle…

Look at the detailo – oh wow… And I love the fonts! So let’s see what I created with this set.

I find it interesting as I look at these that the cards are both in the landscape position. The size is 3 1/2 x 5, just perfect for a little hand written note. For both cards I used the 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 DSP for a foundation. For card #1 I covered most of the front then laid a 1/2″ strip across. These bring in the colors of the pansies and make that Calypso Coral pop. From Basic White I die cut a fancy oval using the Petals Labels Dies (retiring May 3) and added it to the front with dimensionals. The pansies are die cut from one of the Designer papers in the package – and I love that availability. I used my Wink of Stella to give them some glam, attached the two yellow pansies with liquid glue and the Calypso Coral pansy with dimensionals. For the centers I added Matte Black Dots to two of them and a single Gold Glitter Enamel Dot ~ and I called it done. I rather like the big open space of the white oval. For the envelope I actually stamped the pansy! Here’s a close-up of that.

Pansy Patch – #3

There’s tiny bit of color on the lower portion of the envelope I will need to take my eraser to – sorry I didn’t notice that before! But isn’t that pansy sweet? I used Pale Papaya stamped off, then full strength for the edge detail, Calypso Coral for the brighter portion and a bit of Bumblebee for the center. And yes, I covered it too with Wink of Stella. I covered the envelope flap in the same 2020-2022 In Color DSP.

For card #2 you may notice the wonderful kind of pointy scallop under the DSP 🙂 That is from another new set called Basic Borders Dies. I die cut a panel from Basic White card stock for that and adhered it with liquid glue, then laid the 2020-2022 In color 6×6 DSP over that, adhering also with liquid glue. I die cut three pansies – 2 large and one smaller and coated them in Wink of Stella. I adhered the first pansy directly to the card, then another large one with dimensionals and adhered the smaller over that both with liquid glue and a dimensional. For these flower centers I added 2021-2023 In Color Jewels. Here’s a close-up and another picture of the card.

To finish the card front, I used the Double Oval Punch; Bumblerbee card stock for the scallop and Basic White for the sentiment panel. The sentiment comes from Pansy Patch and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink. These two ere adhered together with liquid glue then attached to the card front with dimensionals. A final touch was to add the bow with a bit of Gorgeous Grape Ribbon, adhered with a glue dot. For the envelope, I covered the flap in some gorgeous Pansy Patch DSP, die cut another large purple pansy and adhered that to the edge of the envelope front. Of course that got Wink of Stella as well.

Pansy Patch #6

These stunning cards need to be in a gift box, right? Right! The mini Paper Pumpkin boxes are the perfect size for the Notecards and Envelopes…

Pansy Patch #7

More use of this stunning Pansy Patch DSP adhered to a Soft Succulent (new In Color!) card stock ~ both adhered to the mini Paper Pumpkin with liquid glue. I die cut another of the fancy ovals using the Petals Labels Dies and Basic White card stock. I adhered that with dimensionals to the front of the box. I die cut another two pansies and added Wink of Stella, adhered with liquid glue and a dimensional or two. For the centers, 2021-2023 In Color Jewels and an extra (for the use of 3!) I then made three bows our of the NEW In Color Open Weave Ribbons and attached with glue dots. Finis! Love this set? I will create two more cards to share in tomorrows post. It can be yours for $23 + postage for a marvelous Mother’s Day gift. It will need to be mailed by Apr 30.

Pansy Patch #8

Stampin’ Up! Quiet Moments Part 2

OK – same stamp set, same dies, how can this card be so different? I couldn’t help it – these dies just called to me. I truly don’t know how SU! does it – keep coming up with new products all the time. But that’s the power of creativity and different minds working together, right? And these dies are all about flowers and nature and I’m that kind of girl. So here we go…

Quiet Meadow Part 2 – #1

I’ve talked before about how much I appreciate monochromatic cards, and this is pretty similar – just a hint of color. The color comes from using a retiring product called Natural Touch Specialty Paper. It has a wood grain and a bit of a velvetty soft feel to it. And I added the very cute Bumblebee Trinket that is new in the 21-22 Annual Catalog. The sentiment comes from Quiet Meadow stamp set and is such a versatile one that this card could be used for sympathy or after surgery or get well or just plain ‘thinking of you’ kind of card. And I introduced one of the new In Colors, Evening Evergreen by inking the sentiment. The breakdown for this card:

  • Basic White Thick card stock for the base 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
  • Natural Touch Specialty Paper 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 (2, one for inside) + envelope flap + scraps for die cuts
  • Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 (2, one for inside) + scraps for die cuts

The flowers were adhered with liquid glue; the flower center the same; the Bumblebee trinket with a glue dot – all on a Basic White panel 4 x 5 1/4. This was adhered to the Natural Touch Specialty Paper with Stampin’ Seal, which then got dimensionals to adhere it to the card base.

Quiet Meadow Part 2, inside – #2

For the inside I used two Whimsy Dies to create this fun pattern on a Basic White panel – doesn’t it make it look as though the butterfly has flown everywhere? The butterfly also comes from the Meadow Dies and was adhered with liquid glue. Basic White panel to the Natural Touch Specialty Paper then into the inside of the card – done!

Quiet Meadow Part 2 – #3

For the envelope, another fun butterfly from Meadow Dies out of the Natural Touch Specialty Paper and more of the same paper on the envelope flap. FINIS! Love the simplicity and the finished look.

The Quiet Meadow Bundle will be available for customers to order as of May 4, as will be the fun Butterfly Trinkets and Evening Evergreen ink. In the meantime, take a look at the retiring products ands pick up some really good deals. If I can help you in any way to order these items, or others, please give me a holler. As a thank you to my customers, when the order is between $50-$150 I offer a SU! item of your choice valued at $10. Remember to use MY CURRENT HOST CODE – 63SXY3X6– good April 1- 15 . Stampin’ Up! Quiet Meadow

OMGoodness – new SU! products… are… a… dream… Today’s card uses the beautiful Quiet Meadow Bundle and Hand-Penned DSP + new 21-23 In Color Pale Papaya and some gorgeous Genial Gems ~ yes, all these from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. As a demonstrator, we are able to order certain products as a pre-order to use, create & stimulate, and this was the first I pulled from my box to use. The dies in this bundle are just stunning and I can already tell I will be getting out my watercolor paper to play. Here is today’s card…

Quiet Meadows Bundle – #1

Isn’t that flower bouquet sweet? After stamping in Memento ink on a Basic White panel, I colored the leaves lightly with watercolor pencil (Garden Green) and then the flowers with the Pale Papaya Stampin Blends. This is such a soft look and I really like the contrasting colors. I added three Genial Gems to the panel. How about that DSP!!! Here’s a peek at the pack: Hand-Penned DSP…

I’m realizing not all of the papers actually show in these photos, but you can see how wonderful they are. Back to the card: the DSP and Pale Papaya card stock were both cut at 3 3/4 x 5 and adhered together with liquid glue, then to the front of the card (Pool Party card stock 5 1/2 x is 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4). I added the stamped panel also with liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment in Memento ink on one of the Hand-Penned DSP and die cut it with a die from the Meadow Dies. I adhered it with dimensionals and the card front was done.

Quiet Meadow Bundle – #2

For the inside, I first stamped the splotches using the new In Color Pale Papaya ink on a Basic White panel then adhered one of the wonderful die cuts with liquid glue. This die cut was cut from the new Subtles 6×6 DSP pack so it has some variation of color. I adhered this panel to a slightly larger piece of Pale Papaya card stock then to the inside of the card and voila – the card is done.

Quiet Meadow Bundle – #3

For the envelope I adhered one of the papers from the Hand-Penned DSP to the envelope flap and trimmed it to fit. I then stamped this sweet flower from Quiet Moments stamp set in Memento ink and colored it with the Pale Papaya Stampin Blends and the set was done… This is just so bright and fresh and yet very soothing as the colors are soft. I hope you like the inspiration.

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance Love

OOOh – Stampin’ Up! has a preorder available to demonstrators of a stamp collection called Butterfly Brilliance Collection – and of course it features butterflies… yeah, who would guess that! :O) My set arrived and I dug right in… here’s what I created.

Butterfly Brilliance Love – #1

Two of the butterflies on this card were die cut from one of the papers, as I mentioned earlier could be done. The third butterfly is much more detailed and is cut from Vellum – so delicate and lovely. And please notice the little splotches of holes in the background DSP – that is another of the dies in the set.

One of the neat things about this collection is the Designer Series Papers – and one of them fits the die perfectly! Another cool thing is the outline of the butterflies is all one die but cuts several individual butterflies – similar to the Many Messages dies. Here’s the stamp set and the dies also.

Isn’t this bundle fabulous? If you join my team NOW – you can get this as part of your starter kit :O) Just sayin’… you may do that here. Back to putting this card together…

  • Bermuda Bay card stock is the card base
  • Die cut at least three ‘splotches’ using a die from the Brilliant Wings dies from the Butterfly Bijou 6×6 DSP. Add this layer of DSP to cover entire front of card, adhering with liquid glue
  • Layer another panel of the Butterfly Bijou 6×6 to a slightly larger panel of Bermuda Bay card stock – adhering with liquid glue. put on dimensionals and add to card front.
  • Die cut butterflies from the Butterfly Bijou 6×6 DSP that matches the line-up of the dies. This will give you six cut butterflies!
  • Put dimensionals on one of the butterflies and adhere to front. Add other butterfly with liquid glue.
  • Die cut the detail butterfly out of Vellum and adhere either with liquid glue or a glue dot. HINT: If using liquid glue, cover the entire center body with the glue, smoothing it. With the entire center body covered, the glue does not seem to show.
  • Stamp the sentiment with VersaMark ink on a strip of Bermuda Bay, cover with White Embossing powder and heat to set. Attach with liquid glue and a dimensional at the far right end (for balance)
  • Add three Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins and the card front is done!

For the inside…

Butterfly Brilliance Love – #2
  • Stamp the butterfly in Smoky Slate ink on a panel of Basic White card stock.
  • Adhere to the inside panel and the card is complete…
Butterfly Brilliance Love – #3

For the envelope…

  • Cover the envelope flap with Butterfly Bijou 6×6 DSP using liquid glue, trim to fit
  • Stamp the design from Posted For You stamp set in Smoky Slate ink and color with Blends: Magenta Madness, So Saffron & Just Jade. HINT: when coloring on an envelope with Blends, be certain there is a large scrap in the envelope so it does not bleed through. VOILA! Card cuts are listed at the bottom of this post.
