It’s Thursday and time for a Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!! We have a sketch challenge today and it’s always interesting how others interpret a challenge,.I have used the Thoughtful Expressions Bundle aND Inspirational Sketches stamp set for my card today. I used other items as well, but these are from the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog.

Stampin' Up! Thoughtful Expressions Grateful Card. Thu Hop 2/1

My card base is Thick Basic White 4 1?4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2, a very basic card base. The next layer is Crushed Curry that has been run through the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. I layered another panel of Basic White on top of that 3 3/8 x 4 5/8 then Basic Gray run through the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder 3 14 x 4 1/2. The very front layer is this stunningly gorgeous die cut from Thoughtful Expressions Dies in Basic White, stamped with this beautiful stamp of daisies from Inspirational Sketches stamp set in Basic Gray ink and added to the card front with dimensionals. The sentiment is also from Inspirational Sketches stamp set and is stamped with VersaMark ink then sprinkled with Black Embossing Powder and heat set with the heat tool – all on a scrap of Crushed Curry card stock. It was adhered with liquid glue and a dimensional on the far left end. For a final touch I added several Iris=descent Pearly /Basic Jewels for glam. This was another ‘first play’ with Inspirational Sketches stamp set– love this set!

For the inside… A panel of Crushed Curry 4 18 x 5 3/8 then a Basic White panel stamped: Basic Gray ink with flowers from Inspirational Sketches stamp set in opposite corners and a sentiment from Thoughtful Expressions stamp set.

For the envelope… I stamped this floral image in Basic Gray ink from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set on the envelope front – and left it at that. I often emboss the envelope flap, but chose not to this time. I like the simplicity for this card.

Stampin’ Up! Lighter Than Air Suite Shaker Card

Hello folks! Here it is Wednesday already – where has the week gone? I apologize for being MIA… I’ve had trouble with a couple things and it’s been frustrating. Hopefully we’re back on track again. My card today is a shaker card made with the amazing Hot Air Balloon stamp set & coordinating dies and other products in this suite – but the stamp & dies are KEY! First of all, I love the Lighter Than Air 6×6 DSP – soft but colorful papers. Pool Party is soft, as is Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath – all colors in this particular DSP and ink I used on today’s card. Balmy Blue comes across a bit stronger but is still soft.

Don’t you love the stripes? Here’s what I’m not seeing though…, the stamped sentiment! Aargh! It just isn’t showing in the photo. Aargh again, because I pick up the card and it isn’t that visible there either. HOW DID I MISS THAT? Aaargh. Well, here we are. I’ll just have to die cut another piece and re-stamp it and adhere it over this one, maybe in Balmy Blue. Or maybe I need to re-ink my ink pad? I’m posting the card anyway, and may have to show it again later. The idea is super fun. I haven’t made a shaker card is forever, so there was a learning curve going on… re-teaching myself. :O)

The card base is Pool Party 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored on the long side at 4 1/4. I added the Basic White layer – 4 x 5 1/4 that is just a frame. Note that the color that shows through the hot air balloon die cut is the Pool Party card base. Next I die cut the hot air balloon top with the Hot Air Balloon Dies, turned it to the back side of the Lighter Than Air 6×6 DSP and added a piece of Window Sheet and adhered it in place over the opening. I then added a Foam Adhesive Strip around the die cut. I added more dimensionals on the back side of the DSP and set this aside. I used the die cut piece from the balloon die to note where the DSP panel would be added – and stamped a design for the balloon in Pool Party ink. Yep, I guess I really DO need to re-ink the ink pad! To the card base, I used a small condiment spoon to add some Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots to where the balloon die cut front panel will be attached to the card base, then turned the DSP over so it was face up and attached it to the Basic White panel/ card base. YAY! All was in place! And I set about decorating the front.

I die cut the basket for the balloon and the “strings'” that hold the basket to the balloon from Fresh Freesia card stock – both using the Hot Air Balloon Dies. They are so cool, you guys! But then, I proceeded to cover up the ‘strings’ with the sentiment banner. The sentiment banner is in two parts – at least on this card it is… The underlay I’m going to call it, and the overlay. :O) The overlay is the stamped sentiment in Pool Party ink that is too light to see in the photo. It says: Up, Up, And Away! HOORAY! IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY – and it’s been attached with dimensionals. I attached the basket with dabs of glue. I added two Balmy Blue Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots (part of the suite of products) on either side of the banner, then added a bow with a glue dot. The Balmy Blue bow is from the Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack – which is also a part of the Suite.

For the inside… I stamped the balloon in Fresh Freesia ink, then the sentiment in Balmy Blue ink, and the basket in Bubble Bath ink. I left plenty of room for writing as I know where this card is headed. Have you ever been on a hot air balloon ride? I have – and it was fascinating. I could not believe how QUIET it was. We couldn’t hear traffic or even birds singing. Not hearing birds singing was a bit disconcerting to me. I hadn’t suspected it to be that silent.

The envelope… the flap has Lighter Than Air 6×6 DSP adhered and trimmed to fit. The envelope front has a partial sentiment from the Hot Air Balloon stamp set, stamped in Balmy Blue ink. I like this card but am disappointed I didn’t notice how light the stamping. Maybe it was the excitement of a ‘first time play” – who knows. I will play again, and re-ink a couple of ink pads before I play :O)

Stampin’ Up! Lifetime of Love Bundle

Hello to the weekend! Hope you have something fun planned. We’ve hads a week of pretty nasty weather – cold, windy, rain (like pouring rain). Today we were able to walk without getting drenched.

I pulled out another new product for today’s card – can’t believe I haven’t played with this bundle yet – Lifetime of Love Bundle. This set can be used for so many cards: anniversary, just because, valentines, wedding. I especially love the dies :O) And here’s just one of them.

I die cut the image from Delightful Floral 12×12 DSP – a Calypso Coral side, using the Lifetime of love Dies. I then colored the flower with a sponge dauber and Calypso Coral ink. Next I added more color to the leaves: Pretty Peacock then Parakeet Party, both with sponge daubers. I pulled Petal Pink card stock, ran it through the Softly Sophisticated 3D embossing folder (a FREE Product with a qualified order during Jan-Feb 2024 Sale-a-Bration), then tapped it lightly with the Whisper White ink pad. I laid the die cut image on the embossed panel to determine where the sentiment should be, then stamped that sentiment from Lifetime of Love stamp set in Early Espresso ink. I probably should have stamped it prior to the embossing, but didn’t. – shame on me. It still turned out well. I adhered the die cut piece with small dabs of liquid glue and added it to the card front. I cut a piece of Basic White slightly larger and adhered the two together, put dimensionals on the back and attached it to a Petal Pink card base. For a bit of flourish, I added three Iridescent Foil Gems from the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog and a bow from the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack in Petal Pink. This duo is in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog.

For the inside, I stamped the leaf from Lifetime of Love stamp set using Parakeet Party ink than a sponge dauber to bring in some Pretty Peacock. The sentiment is from Lifetime of Love stamp set and is stamp in Pretty Peacock ink. If you have never tried adding extra depth of color with a sponge dauber – DO! It can make a dramatic difference. Here I wanted a subtle effect of color on the leaf and like it a lot.

For the envelope… I ran just the flap of the envelope through the embossing folder by placing the the flap inside the embossing folder and folding the remainder of the envelope under the folder. You can see the direction is different, but that’s ok. For the front of the envelope, I stamped the floral image in Calypso Coral ink – and that was that.

Stampin’ Up! More Fun with Nature’s Sweetness Suite

I couldn’t help myself – I simply HAD to play some more with the Lovely & Sweet Bundle + the Notes of Nature Bundle – and created today’s card. The Notes of Nature bundle has some very interesting stamps in it – perfect for creating an interesting background for a card or sentiments inside while the Lovely & Sweet stamp set has totally different images. I love how they work together! We made this card in card class yesterday and it’s interesting how folks react to having to use various stamps for a background as opposed to DSP. They really liked their card, but it took a different type of creativity to make it.

Stampin' Up! Monochromatic Nature's Sweetness Suite

I used Pebbled Path and Pecan Pie inks to create the background for this card on Thick Basic White card stock. I then took dies from both Lovely & Sweet Dies AND Notes of Nature Dies to die cut images from the Nature’s Sweetness SDSP. I also die cut the long leaf image from Vellum Basics SDSP. The sentiment is stamped in Pecan Pie ink on a Basic White scrap and adhered to Pecan Pie card stock then added to the card with dimensionals. For a final touch on the card front, I added the Adhesive-Backed Cork Dots, then a bow tied from Baker’s Twine Essential Pack in a Crumb Cake color with a glue dot.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the ‘notebook’ type image in Pebbled Path ink, then the sentiment in Pecan Pie ink on a Basic White insert, then attached that to the inside of the card. This turned out to be a very monochromatic card, which was not my goal when I initially made it – but I like the final outcome.

For the envelope… a piece of Pebbled Path from the Nature’s Sweetness SDSP pack for the flap, trimmed to fit. For the front of the envelope, a leaf image stamped in Pebbled Path ink using the Notes of Nature stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Notes of Nature Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and that means a whole host of creations by this extra special team of crafters. Thanks for joining on this Blog Hop. Our theme today is love – to be interpreted individually. Does that mean hearts to you, or showing appreciation or gratitude? Whatever it is – you will see a variety on today’s hop. Mine is sharing praise and being thankful for others kind of card using the Notes of Nature Bundle.

Stampin' Up! Notes of Nature Congratulations. Thu hop. 1/25

I used some fun products on this card – the Notes of Nature bundle and the Lovely & Sweet stamp set. These can be found on pages 40-43 in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog. From the suite of products shown on those pages, I also used the Nature’s Sweetness 12×12 SDSP and the Adhesive-Backed Cork Dots. I din’t think I would like these – but I DO!. I used the fun die cut from Notes of Nature Dies to die cut from Vellum Basics SDSP the long leaf die. I continued to die cut from that same Vellum Basics SDSP and the Notes of Nature Dies, various leaf patterns. I also die cut from the Nature’s Sweetness SDSP, the gold leaves shown under the sentiment.. Once those were all die cut, I began assembling the card… Thick Basic White for the card base, the Nature’s Sweetness SDSP cut to cover the card front.. I then cut the next layer of Nature’s Sweetness SDSP to about 2 1/2 & 5 1/2. I cut two strips of Pebbled Path card stock about 14″ x 5 12 and adhered it to the back of the Pebbled Path SDSP, then attached it directly to the card base. I added the vellum die cuts with glue dots, then the 1/4″ strip of Pecan Pie card stock at an angle. the gold leaf was attached with dimensionals. The sentiment comes from Lovely & Sweet stamp set (page 42) and is stamped in Pecan Pie ink on a Basic White scrap, then attached with dimensionals at each end. I added the Adhesive-Backed Cork Dots for texture – and love the effect!

For the inside… I stamped the cross-hatch pattern using the Lovely & Sweet stamp set & Pebbled Path ink; then stamped the sentiment from Lovely & Sweet stamp set in Pecan Pie ink. This Basic White panel was adhered to the inside of the card – and sending love & congratulations all at once.

For the envelope… more of the Pebbled Path pattern from Nature’s Sweetness 12×12 SDSP on the flap, trimmed to fit. Then I stamped the fun image from Lovely & Sweet stamp set in Pebbled Path ink – and done. I really like this card and am so pleased with the finished product. Love in action in a congratulations card!

Good Wednesday – midweek and I hope it’s going well. Our snow is almost gone but it is still quite cold out. We had a gloriously sunny day yesterday. Ok – doubt you need to hear all that – let’s see what we worked on…

Stampin' Up! Nature's Sweetness Suite Notebook Cover

This is a new suite of products for me – sort of first time playing – and I love this suite! It’s called Nature’s Sweetness Suite. This suite will make marvelous masculine cards, but also can be more feminine. I used the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog for a bit of inspiration – pages 40-43 and this notebook right at my fingertips. It was a bonus for attending OnStage@ Home convention this just fancied it up a bit. One of the things I like to do is use product on items I use at home all the time – like notebooks. They become less ordinary and inspire me in different way.s. I decorate Composition Notebooks all the time and give them away. Folks use them for journaling or note-taking and seem to enjoy a little special notebook. This one is for me :O) and I loved working with the stamps, dies, Fancy Leather Trim and the Adhesive-Backed Cork Dots. The Designer Series Paper – Nature’s Sweetness SDSP – is just gorgeous. What makes it special – patterns of gold on one side!!!

For this project I’m not going to give measurements as the notebook you use is probably going to be different. I used two of the Nature’s Sweetness SDSP for the front, then pulled out the stamps & dies from the two sets in the suite: Notes of Nature stamp set and Notes of Nature Dies + Lovely & Sweet stamp set and it’s coordinating Lovely & Sweet Dies. I also pulled out the Vellum Basic SDSP to do the long leaf die cut – Notes of Nature Bundle. It has such wonderful detail! I also die cut some leaves from Pebbled Path card stock – in keeping with the colors of the Nature’s Sweetness SDSP. I stamped the very front image using Pecan Pie ink – and the stamp & die from the Lovely & Sweet Bundle. Please note the tabs on the side of the notebook – so fun… they are die cut using a die from the Notes of Nature Dies! LOVE that I can do this too. The tabs were die cut from scraps of the Nature’s Sweetness SDSP. I backed each one with Basic White card stock for strength.

Stampin’ Up! Detailed Dogwood Hello Card

Good morning! Another day, another week :O) and just a bit longer days – yay! I have this super sweet Detailed Dogwood stamp that is a free item as part of the Jan-Feb 2024 Sale-a-Bration. Let’s look…

To know what size Basic White for the very front of the card, I started by die cutting a frame with the Perennial Postage Dies. The Old Olive layer was determined after coloring the dogwood. I stamped the dogwood in Memento ink on a 2 7/8 x 4 1/8 panel and colored it with Stampin’ Blends Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lolly and Old Olive. The sentiment is stamped in Memento ink from Softly Sophisticated stamp set – another FREE ITEM as part of Jan-Feb Sale-a-Bration. I then adhered it to an Old Olive panel 3 x 4 1/4, then to the Perennial Postage die cut frame. I ran a Basic White panel (4 x 5 1/4) through the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder and adhered that to a Thick Basic White card base (4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2). As a final touch, I added three Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Petal Pink. This card has a very feminine & friendly look.

For the inside… anopther image from the Detailed Dogwood stamp set was stamped in Memento ink on the Basic White panel (4 x 5 1/4). Again, it was colored in Stampin’ Blends Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lolly and Old Olive. This was adhered to an Old Olive piece slightly larger and into the inside of the card. Love the softness.

Stampin’ Up! Doggone Friends Note

I had such fun working on this card. For one thing, I’m a dog lover and this stamp, Doggone Friends, just makes me smile. It’s single large stamp in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog. I used the Notes of Nature stamp set (also from that catalog) to create the sentiment and taped off a portion to use just the part I needed.

Here’s the scoop:

* Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
* Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 run through the Basics 3D embossing Folder (ONLINE EXCLUSIVE), Cross Hatch – adhere to card base front
* Stamp Doggone Friends image on Basic White with Memento ink; trim to 2 3/4 x 4 1/4
* Add stamped image to Crumb Cake card stock – 2 7/8 x 4 3/8; then to Basic Black card stock 3 x 4 1/2
* Wrap with Black Twine from Basic Twine Essentials Pack, twice around and tie bow. Secure bow with glue dot.
* Add these to card front with dimensionals.
* Using 2″ Circle Punch (ONLINE EXCLUSIVE), punch a Vellum circle; add over twine with mini dimensionals
* Stamp sentiment from Notes of Nature stamp set in Memento ink, taping off the rest of the sentiment. Adhere to Vellum with Stasmpin’ Seal
* Add Classic Matte Dots for embellishment

For the inside…Trim remaining piece from original stamping to fit Basic White panel (4 x 5 1/4). Mine is about 1 1/4 as I wanted full dog faces to show!

For the envelope… A bit of Zany Zoo DSP for the envelope as I wanted to stick with the black & white idea :O) For the front, I cut another section of the remaining stamped piece of Doggone Friends for the card front and adhered it in place with Stampin’ Seal. And that was it! I LOVE THIS CARD!!!! It’s friendly, can be used for a man or woman and for all kinds of occasions. The other part is, change the colors, use just about any DSP in lieu of the stamped panel, use ribbon instead of twine. It’s a fabulous layout.

Stampin’ Up! January Paper Pumpkin – Lovely Lavender

Good Saturday – we have a simply gorgeous snow-covered landscape this morning. Photos never do it justice. Some of my favorites are the trees with snow on every branch, glistening and sparkling. Nature is amazing.

My January Paper Pumpkin arrived yesterday and I couldn’t wait to put it together. The patterns coordinate with the Perennial Lavender suite of products. I did NOT, however, use any of those – these were gorgeous all by themselves. What it makes is four gift tags (which can easily be made into cards if needed – and I might), and eight cards, 4 of each design.

Aren’t the colors wonderful? Notice the card next to the tags… it has an opening – that’s where the tag came from! Clever, right? And everything comes in the kit: glue dots, dimensionals, linen thread, stamp set, ink spot – and all the pieces/ parts to make both tags & cards. Oh, and did I mention envelopes? These envelopes are decorated on the inside and perfect for cutting open and using in some way. I confess, while I did make all four tags, I only made twocards of each design, with the intention of doing something with the envelopes. :O)

Notice in the card at left how the background coordinates with the envelope. Stampin’ Up! does a great job of coordinating everything in these kits! Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Expressions with Gold Foiled Flowers and Envelopes

Good Friday morning – end of work week for some. We are getting snow here and schools are closed. It will be interesting to see how much snow we really get – predicted 3″-5″. It’s coming down rather steadily already :O)

My card today uses the Gold Foiled Flowers and Envelopes – so pretty! I couldn’t leave it alone though – it called for coloring.

I pulled out my Stampin’ Blends and had a good time: Flirty Flamingo, Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss, Orchid Oasis, Soft Sea Foam, Granny Apple Green, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive & SU 500. When using Stampin’ Blends, remember the color bleeds through to the other side. Often that is covered in some way, but here I left the ‘bleeding’ to show and it creates a rather fun pattern – it adds to the card.

On the card front, I used the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set and VersaMark ink to stamp the sentiment on Very Vanilla scrap, added Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. I die cut this with a die from Thoughtful Expressions Dies. I added a bit of ribbon from the Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack in Bubble Bath with Stampin’ Seal with the sentiment being added over top with dimensionals.. The final touch was three Iridescent Foil Gems.

For the inside… I stamped the sweet flower stamp from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set in Basic Gray ink on a Basic White panel, then colored it with Stampin’ Blends Light Granny Apple Green and Dark Daffodil Delight. This panel was added to the inside with liquid glue. The envelope was so lovely by itself I decided not to do any additional decorating.

Terry Lynn Bright, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
