Stampin’ UP! Seasons of Chic Leaves

Except for yesterdays Blog Hop in which I participated, I have focused on the Seasons of Chic Bundle for my cards this week. I am enamored with the versatility of this stamp set & dies. Today’s card is no exception. And I’ve certainly let you know how I gravitate toward monochromatic cards.

The card base is thick Basic White. The next two layers are Shimmery White Paper. It’s a cross between Basic White and Very Vanilla, just not so creamy as the VV. Here’s what I did…

Die cut the front panel of Shimmery White card stock with Stitched Rectangles Dies. I used the smallest of the large set of dies.
Use Foam adhesive strips to line the rectangle and portions of the card to layer on another panel of Shimmery White card stock. SEE PHOTO.

Remove backing on strips and adhere to the slightly larger Shimmery White Paper.
Stamp the two-step leaf from Seasons of Chic stamp set in Petal Pink ink and Sahara Sand ink (both second generations), then die cut with the Chic Dies. It’s nearly impossible to see in this photo, but the vein stamp is in Sahara Sand ink, the other leaf stamp was stamped first in second generation Petal Pink ink.
Die cut two more leaves in Shimmery White.Layer the three leaves together adhering with liquid glue along the stems.
Tie a bow with strands of Linen Thread & Simply Elegant Trim in Gold, together and around the stems. Add a touch of liquid glue to the knot so it stays in place.
Put dimensionals on the stamped leaf and adhere to the die cut frame cutout.
Add three Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels too the card.
Adhere the two Shimmery White Paper panels to the Thick Basic White card base.

For the inside… Stamp the sentiment in Sahara Sand ink from the Seasons of Chic stamp set. Add two more of the die cut leaves (these are smaller & different from those on front, but die cut from Shimmery White Paper) to the Basic White panel. Adhere panel to the inside of the card. DONE!

For the envelope, I stamped this stunning leaf (w/ veins) to the front and on the flap ~ second generation Sahara Sand ink. Oh boy… I really, really like this card! What can I say… this Season of Chic Bundle is a MUST HAVE!

Stampin’ Up! Textured Chic Specialty Paper for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! I’ve had such fun this week creating with the Seasons of Chic Bundle and the Textured Chic Specialty Paper. One of the best parts is the set is so versatile: summer with shells, fall with leaves, winter with snowflakes and MORE. It’s a timeless set! So here we are for the Blog Hop…

The them challenge is Designer Series Paper…and I’ve chose the Textured Chic Specialty Paper

And here’s my card for today…

Isn’t it amazing there is so much variety in this DSP (Textured Chic Specialty Paper) and stamp bundle: Seasons of Chic? And what I’ve done here is add snowflakes from two sources: the large one is Wonderful Snowflakes; the other two are dies in the Chic Dies. I’ve die cut them from the paper of the Wonderful Snowflakes because I liked the shine of the paper :O) Pretty cool, right?! In the center of each of the snowflakes is a Pastel Pearl.

Textured Chic Specialty Paper is layered on Basic White card stock, adhered with liquid glue. That has dimensionals and is adhered to the Basic Gray card base. Pretty simple card front. Just the same – beautiful.

For the inside, I had a piece of trimmed Textured Chic Specialty Paper on the table and adhered it to the Basic White panel. I simply added this to the inside of the card and loved the simplicity.

For the envelope… more of the same Textured Chic Specialty Paper for the flap, then the front was stamped with snowflakes from the Seasons of Chic stamp set in Basic Gray – two of which were stamped off once.

Stampin’ Up! Seasoned Chic for the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

It’s the monthly Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop! AND… the theme is celebrate summer. Oh my – so MANY bundles to chose from to share. I chose a new bundle in the 2022 Annual Catalog called Seasoned Chic. There are papers that coordinate – for several seasons – so you’ll see more use of this bundle & DSP this week :O)

Does this remind you of the beach? It should with all the shells :O) I started by doing some stamping and die cutting. On Basic White card stock I stamped the larger shell from Seasoned Chic stamp set three times in Sahara Sand ink, another in Petal Pink ink, another in Sahara Sand & Petal Pink inks ~ and die cut them all with the shell outline die from the Chic Dies. I die cut two outline dies of the same shell design: one in Shimmery White and the other in Distressed Gold. I pulled out another shell die and die cut it from Shimmery White card stock & another in Rose Gold 12 x 12 Specialty Foil. I also die cut the ‘netting’ in Gold & Rose Gold 6×6 Metallic Specialty Paper. (CLUE… I should NOT have used that paper for the netting. The little pieces were a nightmare to remove! But… I like the contrast & texture it provides for this card, so in the long run it was worth it.)

I then cut a piece of the Texture Chic Specialty Paper and mounted it on slightly larger Gold Foil. I put dimensionals on the back and adhered that to a Sahara Sand card base. Then the layers began… netting first, adhered with liquid glue; then shells – some attached with liquid glue and some with dimensionals and some with both. The little ones were tucked in with dabs of liquid glue. I would Linen Thread in a circle and slipped it under one of the shells with glue dots. Finally… Faux Sea Glass Shapes.

Again on a Basic White panel, I stamped the shell: detail in Petal Pink and the more solid stamp in Sahara Sand (stamped off). This piece was adhered to the inside of the card – and done!

Envelope… more of the Texture Chic Specialty Paper on the flap and another shell stamped on the front in Petal Pink and Sahara Sand inks – both stamped off first. Love, love the final card ~ and of course, I hope you do too.

Stampin’ Up! Artistically Inked

I’ve chosen a stamp set that has carried over from last year to create this sweet, but simple card today – Artistically Inked and the coordinating Artistic Dies. Let’s take a look-see.

The card base is Thick Very Vanilla card stock. Adhered to that is a panel of Very Vanilla run through the Stitched Greenery Die. This die cuts the paper but not all the way to making pieces as making a pattern. It is a wonderful background die & I use it a lot! I set this aside while doing the next steps…

Die cut the large flower from Artistic Dies in Very Vanilla card stock. Gently remove from the die, holding in as many of the cut pieces as possible. Turn it over and add tape to the back side in those areas you wish the pieces to remain. Do not overlap the tape as this will create lines during the next step. Turn the die cut piece face up.
With a Blending Brush (or 3) color the design: So Saffron for the largest flower; Petal Pink for the smaller flower; Pear Pizzazz & Soft Sea Foam for the various leaves. It’s OK if the colors overlap some!
Adhere to a Very Vanilla panel with dabs of liquid glue.
Slip under a length of Metallic Edge Cotton Ribbon in Silver, folding it over as shown, adhering with a glue dot.
Stamp the sentiment from Artistically Inked stamp set on a Very vanilla scrap with VersaMark , sprinkle with Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Punch with the Essential Tag Punch and trim bottom for appropriate length. Adhere with dimensionals.
Add this Very Vanilla piece to Pear Pizzazz card stock and attach to the card base with dimensionals
Add two Basic Pearls and the card front is complete!

For the inside, I stamped the very precious rose in Petal Pink ink on a Very Vanilla panel. Of course the rose is from Artistically Inked stamp set :O) I then stamped two leaves, also from Artistically Inked, in Pear Pizzazz. I added two more of the Pearl Basic Jewels then attached this to the inside of the card. I did not add a sentiment… but plan to later even though the panel is already adhered in place. How would I do that? A couple of ways can accomplish this. But safest so as not to make a mistake :O) would be to stamp on another panel of Very Vanilla, fussy cut and adhere it in place. As the card is now, it could be a wedding card or a birthday card.

I wanted this card pretty much monochromatic. But if you wanted more color for the inside, this Very Vanilla panel could be adhered to a Pear Pizzazz piece then adhered to the inside of the card. Just an option.

For the envelope, I used the same treatment as the inside of the card for the envelope front: rose in Petal Pink ink and leaves this time, in Soft Sea Foam. I then stamped this same leaf all over the flap of the envelope with Soft Sea Foam ink.

Stampin’ Up! C’mas Banners Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy, happy Thursday! We have a fun creative challenge today for the hop and you may have come from Tara or just hopping in here. Either way this is what I’ve created for the hop.

I chose to really ‘stick with’ the sketch challenge today 😏 and had lots of fun doing it. The DSP for the background is Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 DSP and I edged it with narrow strips of Pool Party. I built on that with lots of die cuts using Decorated Pine Dies for the large pine fronds, then Christmas Banners Dies for the rest of the die cuts. I wanted to use all the colors in the DSP. The sentiment banner is stamped with the Christmas Banners stamp set in Sweet Sorbet then die cut with the same dies. I added it to the card front with dimensionals under the far ends of the banner, then slipped all the other die cuts in under and held in place with liquid glue. The large pine fronds die cut in Garden Green served as the background – as mentioned using the Decorated Pine Dies. The lower pine fronds are from the Christmas Banner Dies. Next layer is the stamped in Pool Party ink leaves (and I did three) and die cut with the Christmas Banner Dies. I used Pear Pizzazz card stock to die cut the single layer of leaves – also from the Christmas Banner Dies. For the berry spray, the branches were die cut from Soft Suede card stock (again 3). The berries are stamped in Real Red ink and die cut with the C’mas Banners Dies then adhered with dabs of liquid glue to the variousSoft Suede branches. Lastly I added Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins: 3 in Garden Green above the banner and 2 in white below the banner.

For the inside of the card… I stamped a leaf bunch from the C’mas Banners stamp set in stamped off Pear Pizzazz ink, then over that with a pine spray from the same stamp set in Garden Green ink. I stamped the Merry in Real Red ink and the Christmas in Sweet Sorbet. Can you tell the difference? I like the contrast! This Basic White panel was adhered to Pool Party card stock then into the Thick Basic White card base ~ and the card was complete.

For the envelope, another bit of the same Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 DSP on the flap and that was it. While this card has several die cuts, it is not heavy and I do not think will need extra postage – and that’s a PLUS!

Stampin’ Up! Painted Posies

Happy day after the 4th! I hope you had a fun day and stayed safe while doing it :O) My card today is a focus on the Painted Posies Embossing Folder. And trust me when I say – this embossing folder does all the work for you. It’s gorgeous! And silly me wasn’t going to get it. As I said, silly me. 🥴

After embossing e Basic White panel with the Painted Posies embossing folder, I adhered it to an piece of Soft Succulent just slightly larger. I put dimensionals on the back and added it to the Evening Evergreen card base. I stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink on a Basic White strip – the sentiment comes from the Go To Greetings stamp set.I adhered this to a strip of Soft Succulent, put dimensionals on the back and added it to the card front. The last step was to add three Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins in white – and the card front was done!

I had trimmed the embossed front panel and saved the trimmed piece to add to the Basic White panel for the inside of the card. This was was adhered to Soft Succulent and then to the card inside. Again… done!

For the envelope, I embossed a piece of Basic White and added it to the flap with liquid glue. And that was it. Quick. Easy. And gorgeous.

Stampin’ Up! Wonderful World Sale-a-bration

Good Sunday morning! I have a quick & fun card for you this morning using a FREEBIE from the Sale-a-bration Catalog when placing an order of $100 before taxes & shipping. And remember I have this special of double rewards going on right now too :O) See below for more information about that.

I’ve started with a standard card base of Starry Sky card stock and covered the front with one of the Wonderful World 12 x 12 DSP papers. I love this pattern! I then cut a 1″ strip of another pattern from the same DSP pack and added it with liquid glue. I then stamped this gorgeous distinctive flower from the Wonderful World stamp set in Starry Sky ink on a Basic White panel and die cut with one of the Deckled Rectangle Dies. I then took my Blending Brush and So Saffron ink and blended it on all the edges. It really makes the flower stand out and it also brings out the yellow from some of the other flowers. I mounted this in the center of the card with dimensionals. I tied a double bow with the 2022-2024 In Color Bakers Twine in Starry Sky and added it with a glue dot. The sentiment is from the Go To Greetings stamp set and added with liquid glue and a single dimensional on the right end. Two Opal Rounds were added for sparkle.

For the inside I cut another Basic White panel with the largest of the Deckled Rectangles Dies and added just a smidge of color (So Saffron) with my Blending Brush. I stamped another flower from this Wonderful World stamp set, a delicate iris, in Starry Sky ink full strength. This piece was added to the inside of the card and finis!

I stamped the same distinctive iris from the Wonderful World stamp set in Starry Sky ink on the envelope front – stamped off once. The flap got more of the Wonderful World 12 x 12 DSP.

Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s that time of week for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. You may have come from the fun creation of Tara Carpenter or just hopped in right here. Whatever the case… welcome!

Our challenge is a color one: Black & White + color of choice. I chose Balmy Blue, which you can see in the background between the trees. Snow gets a fun tinge to it when it’s falling at dusk :O) The challenge is below.

Back to my card… I die cut the Basic White front panel with the Aspen Trees Dies. It coordinates with Perched In A Tree stamp set and comes as a bundle (which means 10% off!). Remember, this bundle is available Jul 1 – which is Friday – woohoo!!! OK, card… I keep getting distracted. I used a Blending Brush to shade the aspens and Basic Gray ink. I love the look it gave. I set that aside and took another panel of Basic White and stamped the ‘snowflakes’ in Balmy Blue. I stamped the sweet bird in Memento ink and colored it with Watercolor Pencils in Balmy Blue and Early Espresso. I used a Blender Pen to smooth the pencil lines. I die cut the bird with the Aspen Trees Dies and adhered it with liquid glue. I did move it around a bit before I found the right spot, cuz wanted him peeking out of the trees. The Aspen die cut got lots of dimensionals & was adhered to the snow-stamped panel. That was added to the Thick Basic White card base. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray ink – love, love the font! – and fussy cut it. I used Stasmpin’ Seal on the back and wrapped a length of the Simply Elegant Trim in Silver on the back, then added dimensionals and placed it on the front. Final touch – a bit of glam with three Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins in white.

For the inside… Using a Blending Brush I added Balmy Blue all around the edges of the Basic White panel, then stamped the sentiment from Perched In A Tree stamp set in Basic Gray ink. This was added to the inside of the card.

For the envelope, more Balmy Blue ‘snowflakes’ to the flap and the wonderful Aspen branch stamped in Basic Gray to the front. I really, really like this. And yes, I took some liberties and substituted Basic Gray for the Black for the challenge. :O) Now – it’s time to get on with the hop! Stampin’ Up! Season of Chic for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s time… for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. You may have come from the fun & creative Tara or just dropping in. Whatever the case ~ here’s the sketch challenge.

And, drum role… here’s my card!

Season Of Chic. Happy Inkin’ Th. Blog hop.1

The focus is Texture Chic Specialty DSP (special as it has gold in the various papers – and BTW, it’s g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s. Some things I don’t like about this card 😩… I should have cut the DSP panels smaller, should also have put vellum (or something) behind the leaves so they stood out more. This was my first play with the Chic Dies – and they are so fab!!! Love, love. Just yesterday I learned that a friend’s step daughter lost her hubby, so this is going to my friend.

The ‘how to’…

Card stock base is Soft Succulent
next layer is Evening Evergreen adhered on a slant directly to the card base.(see the challenge :O)
Adhere two layers together of the Texture Chic Specialty DSP (HINT: I die cut several dies from the bottom DSP and since it doesn’t show, no one knows :O)
Die cut from Brushed Metallic Gold the ‘netting’ type die & adhere with liquid glue to the DSP
Adhere the two leaf die cuts from the Chic Dies & Texture Chic Sp. DSP, again with dabs of liquid glue
Tie a bow with the Simply Elegant Trim in Gold and adhere with a glue dot
Stamp the sentiment from Season of Chic Stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink on a Soft Succulent scrap and fussy cut. Adhere with Mini Dimensionals to the DSP panels
Put dimensionals on the completed DSP panels and adhere to the card.

For the inside…

Use one of the die cuts from the Texture Chic Specialty DSP to the Basic White panel with dabs of liquid glue, then add to the inside of the card. No sentiment was added for flexibility of use, but since learning of a need for a sympathy card, I will have lots of room for comments, notes, something inspirational & hopefully comforting.

L-O-V-E this DSP… love the Season of Chic Bundle… can’t wait to play more. 😁

For the envelope… more Texture Chic Sp DSP for the flap, cut to fit. For the front, I used one of the leaf stamps, inked with Pool Party ink, then using a dauber added Evening Evergreen in various places. Perfect!

Stampin’ Up! Pretty Pop-Up Dies

Today’s card is just full of sweetness. The colors are soft, the images are gentle – it’s just, well, lovely. I hope you like it too.

I cut three Basic White panels & ran two of them through the Pretty Pop-Up Dies using the rectangular die. I colored the images with very soft colors… Stampin’ Blends: Light Highland Heather, Light So Saffron, Dark Soft Sea Foam, and Light Smoky Slate. I stamped the last Basic White panel with a sentiment from Nature’s Prints (love the fonts in this set) in Smoky Slate ink, then ran this through the the mini cut & emboss machine using just the two butterfly images. I made sure the butterflies on each panel had their wings raised just a bit :O) then adhered all three panels to a Soft Sea Foam piece of card stock, then onto a slightly larger panel of Basic White, popped that on dimensionals and added it to the Soft Sea Foam card base. Oh wait… that card base has a piece of Subtles 6×6 DSP on it in Soft Sea Foam 😳 And the card front was done.

For the inside… The sentiment is stamped in Smoky Slate ink using the Peaceful Moments stamp set – on a Basic White panel. I adhered a 1/2″ strip of the same Subtles 6×6 DSP near the bottom of the panel and adhered it to the inside of the card.

It’s really hard to see, but the envelope flap was run through the Timeworn Torn 3D embossing folder – and that was it – card is ready to be sent. This is going to a very favorite person who just lost her husband, age 95 or maybe 96. He really, really cared well for his wife who has memory issues. She still knows me and will appreciate the card, but the loss of her hubby will throw her into a tailspin, mostly because of the memory problems. Ugh… loss is very, very hard. I could have gone through my stash of cards and sent one already made, but there is something cathartic and healing in making a card for someone special.
