Stampin’ Up! Color & Contour + Delightfully Eclectic Fun Fold

We have a challenge of a ‘fun fold’ for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop Group today. I’ve combined Delightfully Eclectic DSP and the Color & Contour bundle for my card.

Stampin' Up! Amy's Inkin' Krew
Blog Hop Group
Stampin' Up! Color & Contour Fun Fold

This fun fold uses a 5 1/2 x 12 piece of Designer Series Paper. Here I’m using Delightfully Eclectic. It’s scored @ 1 3/4, 4 3/4, & 7 3/4 and folded accordian style or valley, mountain, valley. Here’s the finished card, open.

Stampin' Up! Color & Contour Fun Fold inside

Using the Scalloped Contour Dies, cut 3 from Bubble Bath card stock cut 3 1/4 x 4 1/2. Begin by adhering to the back panel first, centering the die cut. Fold DSP at 2nd score line and attach 2nd Bubble Bath die cut so that it is even with the die cut on the bottom panel. Remember, the adhesive will not cover the entire die cut as there is some ‘overhang’. See photo.

Stampin' Up! Color & Contour fun fold

Close entirely and attach the front Scalloped Contour die cut. I do this by turning the die to the wrong side and add adhesive to back side as per this photo. That way I do not put adhesive where it is not needed!

Stampin' Up! Scalloped Contour Dies.3
Stampin' Up! Color & Contour fun fold closed

Cut 3 panels of Basic White card stock and decorate as desired. For the front panel I used a Color & Contour sentiment and stamped it in Memento ink. I then used the blotchy dot stamp and Bubble Bath ink to stamp over the sentiment. I attached this to the front Scalloped Contour die then added a flower already put together from the Paper Florist Dies (cut from Fresh Freesia and Basic White) and added it as you see it. As a final touch to the front, I added three Tinsel Gems in Berry Burst. For the second section of this fun fold, I stamped the flower in Memento ink from Color & Contour stamp set, then colored it with the additional stamps provided: Fresh Freesia for the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves. I then stamped the sentiment on this panel in Memento ink. For the last panel I stamped the sentiment from Color & Contour stamp set in Memento ink, then the splotchy dots in Bubble Bath and added the panel. Once everything was together, I attached a panel of Old Olive card stock ( 4 1/4 x 5 1/2) to the very back to add strength and stability to the card. All done!

Stampin' Up! Color & Contour Fun Fold.4

The envelope got more of the Delightfully Eclectic DSP to the flap, & trimmed to fit. For the front I stamped the leaves in Old Olive, the bud in Memento, then filled the bud with Bubble Bath – all from the Color & Contour stamp set. This is such a sweet, delicate card. I absolutely love it. I hope you do as well.

Now it’s time to continue the hop. Do that by clicking on one of the “previous’ or ‘next’ or a name to continue.

Stampin’ Up! Circle Sayings on a Notecard

The size of a notecard is 3 1/2 x 5 and is simply a sweet size. And, it is not too small to be mailed. My card today is made with one of the Basic White Notecards and Envelopes.

Stampin' Up! Circle Sayings on a Notecard

I began by stamping this cute cupcake from Circle Sayings stamp set in Crumb Cake ink and coloring it with Stampin’ Blends Bubble Bath for the icing and Light Smoky Slate for the wrap, I wanted it to look like a foil so added Wink of Stella for the shine. It doesn’t show in the photo but it does in person :O) I stamped the ‘circle saying’ in Crumb Cake as well and die cut with a circle from Sylish Shapes Dies. For more sparkle (cuz birthdays are special occasions) I die cut a larger circle from Soft Shimmer paper in Bubble Bath – yep, Stylish Shapes Dies. I added a bow made from the Simply Elegant Trim in silver and attached it with a glue dot. This item I set aside.

On a piece of Crumb Cake I stamped repeatedly the words Happy Birthday using a stamp from Go To Greetings – in Crumb Cake ink. I attached the stamped and decorated circle with dimensionals. I cut small strips of the same Soft Glimmer paper in Bubble Bath and attached them to the Notecard front, then added the Crumb Cake panel. The Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Petal Pink seemed to match pretty well, so I added those as well.

Stampin' Up! Circle Sayings Notecard inside

For the inside… I used Bubble Bath ink and Crumb Cake ink to stamp sentiments from Circle Sayings stamp set on a Basic White piece. This was added to a very slightly larger panel of Crumb Cake and added to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Circle Saying Notecard and Envelope

For the envelope I used another sentiment from Go To Greetings stamp set to stamp in Crumb Cake ink – and that was it. I kept it very simple.

For the card cuts and products, see below. And if you wish to order these products, be sure to use my current HOST CODE to receive rewards. What does that mean? Stampin’ Up! Paper Florist Dies

Good morning, or afternoon as the case may be. I hope you are taking advantage of some of the super duper happenings at Stampin’ Up! See below for more information about that.

In my class yesterday we worked on a 3D project with the Paper Florist Dies. I found these shadow boxes, painted them and let the ladies be as creative as they wanted with these Paper Florist Dies. Here’s my sample.

Stampin' Up! Paper Florist Dies Shadow Box

The colors in here are Petal Pink, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Basic White and Pretty Peacock, Flirty Flamingo. Greens used were Granny Apple Green and Lemon Line Twist. I used a glue gun to add these to the box, but the students didn’t want to use that. They used dimensionals, sometimes stacking them. Here are their creations.

Stampin' Up! Paper Florist Dies.2
Stampin' Up! Paper Florist Dies.3

Additional colors used on these beautiful shadow boxes were: Poppy Parade, Berry Burst, Lemon Lolly, Fresh Freesia and Misty Moonlight. The greens were the same – Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist. Didn’t they do a great job?! I really like how each person is reflective of their own selves.

Now, about all those specials that Stampin’ Up! is offering: Paper Pumpkin is first as it is Jul 6-7 and that ends today. Items are still available but are first come first serve.

And here’s my card for the challenge. It uses the pretty and subtle Earthen Elegance DSP, Gorgeously Made stamp set for the sentiment and Stylish Shapes Dies to die cut the sentiment. It’s matted on Pebble Path card stock, then with dimensionals added to the card base (Pebble Path) and layer (Gray Granite. The sentiment was stamped with Pebble Path ink.

Stampin' Up! Earthen Elegance, card inside

On the inside, I layered a panel of Gray Granite to the card base, then stamped the Basic White piece with Pebble Path ink and this very fun stamp from Gorgeously Made stamp set. It’s so different, I really like it! This is a very simple yet significant card, due to the sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Earthen Elegance card & envelope

For the envelope I took a strip of the Earthen Elegance DSP and simply added it along the side – again, simple but elegant.

Stampin’ Up! Earthen Textures Thank You

Wow! Did you see fireworks last night? Were they spectacular or what?! Hope everyone is safe… I have a quick and easy card for you today made with the Earthen Textures DSP, a die from Cheerful Daisy Dies that seems to coordinate well , and Gorgeously Made stamp set for the sentiment and a fun decorative stamp for the inside and the envelope. I also brought in a die from the Timeless Arrangement Dies for the sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Earthen Textures DSP

Isn’t this pretty DSP? It looks a bit like sea grass to me. And because of that I pulled this fun die from Cheerful Daisies Dies to accent. Those die cuts are from Copper Clay and Gray Granite. I layered the Earthen Textures DSP to a Gray Granite panel just slightly larger, then with dimensionals added it to a Copper Clay card base. The sentiment is from the Gorgeously Made stamp set stamped in Copper Clay ink on a Basic White piece. This was die cut with a die from Timeless Arrangements Dies and added with dimensionals over the ‘sea grass’ die cuts.

Stampin' Up! Gorgeously Made stamp set

For the inside I looked for a stamp that simulated the DSP on the card front and found this stamp from Gorgeously Made stamp set – and stamped it with Copper Clay ink on the Basic White panel. This piece was attached to a Gray Granite panel slightly larger, then directly to the inside of the card base. DONE!

Stampin' Up! Earthen Textures DSP card and envelope

For the envelope… The same stamp was used for the envelope front as the inside of the card, from Gorgeously Made stamp set. Another swatch of the Earthen Textures DSP was added to the envelope – and this card is ready.

Stampin’ Up! Little Dreamers Happy 4th

Happy 4th of July! Today’s card is a ‘take’ on the 4th of July using the LIttle Dreamers bundle AND the Stargazing DSP.

Stampin' Up! Little Dreamers, 4th

Isn’t this lion CUTE!? This card could so easily be given for a 4th birthday, but it is intended for the 4th of July post :O) This DSP, Stargazing is stunning, AND it has a hint of reddish color in the upper right corner. What it says on the package is Berry Burst is a coordinating color, so I did use that for accent – but pretend it’s red, ok? You know, red, white and blue… The Basic White cloud at the bottom of the card is die cut with the Basic Border Dies and 1 1`/4″ of card stock. The stamped sentiment is done with Starry Sky ink, covering a portion of the stamp in the Little Dreamers stamp set, stamping then cleaning the stamp and re-inking just the last word, also in Starry Sky ink. In between, I die cut stars using one of the dies in the Little Dreamers Dies and Berry Burst card stock. Just the top star was adhered with a mini dimensional, the other two and the cloud were added with liquid glue onto the Stargazing DSP. The lion is of course, from Little Dreamers stamp set and stamped in Memento ink on the Basic White panel. I colored it with Stampin’ Blends: Daffodil Delight for the star, Wild Wheat for the larger portion of the lion, Crumb Cake & SU300 for the mane and Lemon Lolly for the lions belly. He was die cut with the Little Dreamers lion die and attached to the card with dimensionals. This whole Stargazing panel was added to a Berry Burst piece, then to the Starry Sky card base.

Stampin' Up! Little Dreamers 4th, inside

For the inside, Starry Sky ink on the Biggest Wish stamp set ‘happy’, stamped on the Basic White panel. Then the 4th was stamped in Berry Burst ink using the Alphabest stamp set. A 1/2″ strip of the Stargazing DSp was added to the bottom to continue the theme from the front. In hindsight, it should have been adhered to the top of the Basic White panel – but you know, hindsight. This piece was added to Berry Burst and adhered to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Little Dreamers card & envelope

For the envelope – real simple… a bit of the Stargazing DSP on the flap + a small strip of Berry Burst to continue the theme of red, white & blue – HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Be careful out there on this fourth of July. Fireworks are fun & beautiful to watch, just be careful if you light them yourself.

Stampin’ Up! Delightfully Eclectic Card Gift Bag

It’s Tuesday July 3 – and a blueberry picking day! We love blueberries and this is the right time of year… they are ripe and we are ready to go. We freeze most of them to have this first picking. Then we pick more and make muffins or pancakes or cobblers or jus eat the fresh to our hearts content.

Today’s post has nothing to do with blueberries :O). It’s a card gift bag.

Stampin' Up! Delightfully Eclectic Card Gift Bag

The card is made with Delightfully Eclectic DSP and Basic Black card stock for the sides, bottom and handles. The label is Basic Black and Basic White, stamped with the Countryside Corners stamp set. Here are the dimensions:

  • Designer Series Paper: 6 x 4 1/2, cut 2
  • Coordinating card stock 3 x 6 (bottom panel) scored on both long sides @ 1/2″
  • same coordinating card stock 3 x 5, cut 2 (side panels), score on three sides @ 1/2″. Mark center on remaining short side and score from that mark to the right bottom corner where score lines meet. Score again from that same center mark to the bottom left corner where score lines meet.
  • Burnish all score lines
  • Trim bottom corners of side panels at angle – see photo below

Directions:

  • Add Tear n tape to the 1/2″ score lines on all pieces, adding it to the scored edge, close to the score line.
  • Attach DSP panels first, then side panels as shown.
Stampin' Up! Delightfully Eclectic Card Gift bag.2
  • Do one side at a time, removing tape of bottom side panel and attaching it to the bottom panel, then attach that same side panel to the DSP piece
  • Now do the same to the other side

Handles:

  • Cut 4 handles and adhere two together for strength. Here I used the Countryside Corners Dies to create the handles
Stampin' Up! Delightfully Eclectic Gift Bag handles
Stampin' Up! Delightfully Eclectic Card Gift bag.3
  • Add Tear n Tape to the bottom portion of each handle and attach to each inside of the DSP see photo above
  • Decorate as desired:
    • Ribbon used: Satin Edged Ribbon & Baker’s Twine Essential Pack in white for bow
    • Basic Black and the Countryside Corners Dies for label
    • Basic White and Countryside Corners stamp and Countryside Corners smallest die
  • Fill with decorated cards to gift :O)
Stampin' Up! Delightfully Eclectic Card Gift bag complete

The label allows you the freedom to write in a name for the gift of goodies. And I guess you wouldn’t have to fill with cards, but could fill with just about anything. Just be careful the items aren’t too heavy! :O)

If you had a new team member, this would be a nice gift to fill with various adhesives – or as a hostess gift for someone hosting a party.

Good Sunday morning, July 2. First of all, I cannot believe it is July – did I say that yesterday? It still doesn’t seem like July. Maybe it will grow on me. :O) Today’s card uses a technique I haven’t done in a while and it’s so easy and just gives a card a different look. It’s called a ‘floating technique,’ which means an element looks as though it is sitting on top and unattached. It IS attached.

Stampin' Up! Floating technique

I’ve also used a new bundle that is part of the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES and will be available July 6 – just a few days from now – Timeless Charm bundle. The die cut flower and the sentiment come from this set. The floating technique is the circle… 1/2″ strips adhered to a window sheet then die cut. For this card I used the Stylish Shapes Dies – the largest circle. This was added to the card base with dimensionals just on the strips so they don’t show. The paper is part of the Delightfully Eclectic pack of DSP. The flower, from Timeless Charm Dies, has lots of detail and is delicate. It too, is adhered with dimensionals – and was die cut from Crushed Curry, one of the coordinating colors for the pack of DSP. The sentiment is stamped in Memento ink on a Basic White strip and comes from the Timeless Charm stamp set. I angled the ends and added it to the card with dimensionals as well. The embellishments are Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in gold.

Ha! I wrote on this card before taking the picture!!! Silliness. For the inside I used the die cut of the flower from Basic White as a stencil to create the inside flower. I used a Small Blending Brush and Fresh Freesia ink to color the flower heads, then switched to a sponge dauber and Old Olive ink to color the leaves & stems. I used a post it note tom cover areas I did not want inked.

This new bundle – Timeless Charm – has a couple of stamps that can be used as a color block or background, and I used one of those after stamping the sentiment in Memento ink. That background was stamped in Fresh Freesia after stamping off once. The Basic White panel was attached to the inside of the card – and all done.

Let me talk just a bit about ONLINE EXCLUSIVES… they are just that, not in any SU! catalog, but digital only. So for those of you who like doing everything digitally, this is one way to do that.

Here is a photo of the Timeless Charm bundle where you can see the flower die cut, the sentiments I used and the ‘background’ kind of stamp as well as other stamps & dies in the set. Since this just arrived on my doorstep the other day, this is my first play – and I can’t wait to create with it some more. Love the leaves and the dies that coordinate. If you are interested in purchasing this product and others from the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES, this bundle will be available July 6 along with the Santa Sleigh bundle. However, there are many other products available on line from my store. You may shop those products here.

Stampin’ Up! Countryside Corners Dies: One card layout, three cards

Good morning – and July 1 has rolled around quickly!!! I’ve been out of touch lately, stepped back for a couple of reasons: some family health issues and a family reunion. The family health issue is turning around (at least we think so!) and the family reunion was for my hubby’s side of the family which we ran. Family came from Hawaii, California, South Carolina, Washington state, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey (this was us!). There were 27 of us in one house from 11 months to 85 years – and we fed them all for three days… Talk about a challenge! We had some wonderful help from those attending and today’s cards are for some of the hardest workers. Yes, I have more to make, but this is a start. Here are the three cards.

Card 3 is made using the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder, Inked Botanicals 6×6 DSP, Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and Basic White card stock for the layers. The leaves come from a new bundle which will be in the next Mini Catalog :O) and it is Translucent Florals & Translucent Florals Dies. The leaves on the card front were stamped on Vellum in Lost Lagoon ink and heat set, then die cut. The sentiment is from the Translucent Florals stamp set as well. White Baker’s Twine for the bow from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. Embellishments used were the Iridescent Pastel Gems in gold. And yes, the Countryside Corners Dies were used to create the layers.

And now, a couple of photos from the reunion : the large group is all 27 of us; the group of four is our daughters, hubby and me. :O)
