Stampin’ Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to another fun BLOG HOP by our creative group. I can’t wait to see what others have made for the hop today. We have a color challenge.

Stampin' Up! Color Challenge for Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop
Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop
Stampin' Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold w/ Bright & Beautiful 6x6

Can you see all those colors in the color challenge in this DSP? Blueberry Bushel is the card base; Lost Lagoon is the ink on the sentiment, and Pretty Peacock is in the DSP, Moody Mauve is in the DSP too. So, I’m covered – whew! Isn’t this a fun card? I had such fun creating it!

  • Card base is 8 x 5 1/2, score at 2, 6 on long side
  • On the short side, cut @ 1 1/4″ on both short sides between score lines
  • On the long side, score @ 3″ & 5″ between cut lines
  • On the long side, score @ 4″ from top & bottom to cut line
Stasmpin' Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold basic form
Stampin' Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold from the top

In far left photo is how your card base should look after all cutting and score lines have been made. The photo next to it shows the image from the top.

Now it’s time to decorate with DSP & die cuts and all that good stuff.

DSP & center layers:

  • DSP for side front panels: 1 7/8 x 5 3/8, cut 2
  • DSP for small sections: 1 7/8 x 1 1/8, cut 4
  • Center card stock: 2 3/8 x 3
  • Center DSP: 2 1/4 x 2 7/8

Adhere center layers together & add to small center section of card.

Stampin' Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold side DSP panels
Stampin' Up! Pop-Out Gate Fold DSP panels & center panel

In photos at left, it is clear where the various panels should be added, whether by liquid glue or Stampin’ Seal. I prefer the liquid glue as it allows for flexibility. It is up to you, however.

Now it’s time to decorate! I used Bright & Beautiful 6×6 DSP for the balloons and the added panels of DSP adhered to the card base & center section. I used Beautiful Balloons stamp set and Beautiful Balloons Dies for all the die cuts – including the center sentiment banner, stars and tassel. The stars & tassel were die cut from the ONLINE EXCLUSIVE Silver & Gold Adhesive-Backed Glitter Paper (LOVE THIS!) Because the glitter paper is adhesive backed, I die cut another tassel in white to adhere to it. On the smaller balloon, I added Gold Celebrations SDSP to the Bright & Beautiful DSP prior to die cutting. I colored a couple of strings of White Baker’s Twine with Light Blueberry Bushel Stampin Blends & tied them around the balloon bottoms and attached the ends with a rolled glue dot. I also added Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Gold to further the gold effect. On the back, I added a 1 1/2 x 4 Basic White strip to a side panel to write my message. And the card was done!

Stampin' Up! Pop-Out Fun Fold card & envelope

On the envelope I added a 2 1/4 x 6 piece of Bright & Beautiful 6×6 DSP and trimmed it to fit. I stamped the front of the envelope with Lost Lagoon ink and a sentiment from Beautiful Balloons stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today. Now it’s time to hop along to see what others have created. Click on the next button or name to get you where you want to go. ENJOY!

Stampin’ Up! Front Flap Fold with Wishes All Around Dies

Hello Tuesday! I have a bright & fun Christmas Card for you today… made with Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper, Wishes All Around dies and Christmas Classics stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Wishes All Around Dies Fun Fold

I wanted this card to look country-ish, therefore the woodgrain and the plaid Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper. While it doesn’t show much here, I did run the woodgrain DSP through the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder before adhering it. The wreath comes from Shaded Spruce card stock die cut with the a wreath from the Wishes All Around Dies. I also die cut three sprigs from Old Olive card stock with other die from this set. I attached the wreath to a Basic White circle die cut with the Deckled Circles Dies – using the 5th from smallest circle. Before adhering, I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink using the Christmas Classics stamp set. After adhering, I added Gold Holly Leaves for a bit of sparkle. I also added a Real Red Ribbon bow from the Real Red & Garden Green Combo Pack which is attached with a glue dot. I slipped in lengths of Threaded Twine as I was tying the bow :O) Also notice the red dots – those are Pearlized Enamel Dots Effects in Real Red. They take a bit to dry & harden so it might be best to wait until the card is completed to do that step :O)

Stampin' Up! Wishes All Around fun fold inside

I really like the inside of the card… I stamped the pine needles in Shaded Spruce ink; the sentiments in Real Red ink and more Shaded Spruce ink. These come from the Christmas Classics stamp set – one of my favorites. This Basic White panel was added to the inside of the card: layers of Smoky Slate card stock and Joy of Christmas DSP on the Real Red card base.

Ok – let me tell you how to make card cuts for this front flap fun fold- so easy.

  • Card base is a standard 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2.
  • Remove 2 3/4 from the top portion of the card base: reserve for the front flap
  • Layers for the top front of the card:
    • Smoky Slate 2 1/2 x 4 1/8
    • DSP 2 3/8 x 4
  • Layers for the front flap
    • Real Red, the removed portion of the card base
    • DSP 2 5/8 x 4 1/8
  • Inside
    • Smoky Slate 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
    • DSP 4 x 5 1/4
    • Basic White 3 x 4 1/4
Stampin' Up! Wishes All Around Fun Fold card & envelope

For the envelope, I added more of this stunning Joy of Christmas DSP to the flap & trimmed it to fit. I also stamped more of the pine fronds using Shaded Spruce ink and Christmas Classics stamp set. Isn’t this a friendly card? Who wouldn’t want to get this in the Christmas mail!

Stampin’ Up! Them Bones Halloween Fun Fold

Halloween is just around the corner – well, two weeks from today is the official Trick or Treating in our area. We have a grandson that ‘needs’ a card for this auspicious occasion and I’m no0t really much of a halloween fan. I love the kids and what they do for costumes, but this candy ‘need’ seems out of control to me. But… my card…

Stampin' Up! Them Bones Halloween Fun Fold

You can see, I paired this fun Them Bones DSP with Gorgeous Grape card stock. And although there is none of that color in the DSP – it works – because it’s halloween!!! I used a variety of papers for this, but focused on spooky images :O). I also used the Glossy Dots Assortment in Gorgeous Grape to add as an embellishment.

Stampin' Up! Them Bones DSP Fun Fold, inside

Here you can see the inside of the card – more of the DSP than ever! I never inked a stamp for this card – which is just a shame… but cutting down DSP did the trick and I think our grandson will love it.

Stampin' Up! Fun Fold from the top

Here’s a photo from the top – and you can see, it’s a bit of a z-fold card.

  • Card stock base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored @ 2 1/8 & 4 1/4
  • Fold card base in half, then fold front section back – to form the z
  • Decorate each panel with Them Bones Designer Series Paper
    • Cut 2 panels of DSP 2 x 5 3/8
    • Cut 1 panel of DSP 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, inside piece
    • Adhere to appropriate areas as shown
  • Cut coordinating or like card stock 3 1/8 x 5
    • Cut DSP for this panel 3 x 4 7/8
    • Adhere DSP to card stock
  • Adhere this card panel to card front, centering it on the front ‘z’ so when card is closed it is centered on entire card.
  • For inside, cut the BOO! from Them Bones Designer Series Paper; attach to slightly larger White panel & attach to inside of card
  • Add embellishments – Glossy Dots Assortment

What’s fun about this design: the front panel can be just about any size – smaller or round or square or hexagon, depending on the decoration or type of card created. Use different Designer Series Paper & create a birthday or sympathy card – the dimensions/ directions remain basically the same. In other words, take the dimensions & make it your own. Would love to see what you create!

Stampin’ Up! Stars At Night Dies Ornaments

Good Sunday morning! My 4″ metal rings arrived yesterday afternoon and I couldn’t wait to play. Remember I posted the ornaments on 3″ rings the other day – that link is here.

Stampin' Up! Stars At night Dies Ornaments

I used the O Holy Night 12 x 12 DSP to cut a circle with the Deckled Circles Dies. Which one? Beginning with the smallest, count six circles – that’s the one :O) I cut a backing as well, but from Night of Navy card stock. I cut various star shapes using many of the dies in Stars of Night Dies from various papers: Distressed Gold, Shimmer Paper, Gold Foil, and Adhesive-Backed Gold Glimmer Paper. These are wonderful dies!!!

Instructions:

  • Cut a length of ribbon about 20″ in length – possibly Linen Thread. Fold in half and slip the ring into the fold.
  • Secure the Linen Thread at the bottom and top with a glue dot. (I used my grid paper to make certain it was centered.) Tie a double knot at top: left over right, then right over left.
  • Slip the backing circle under both threads, centering the circle. Put a dimensional over the linen thread near the top of the circle.
  • TWIST THE THREAD and secure in place with a dimensional near the bottom of the circle. Add more dimensionals as needed.
  • Add top Designer Series Paper, matching notches in the deckles. I used O Holy Night 12 x 12 DSP.
  • Add layers of die cut stars as desired. On the above ornament, the largest star is on dimensionals as is the smaller Shimmer Paper die cut and the very top star as well. I decorated the center of the star with an Iridescent Pearl.
  • As a finishing touch, I tied a length of the Night of Navy & Gold Glitter Ribbon in a knot at the top of the metal ring.
Stampin' Up! Satrs At Night Dies Ornament.2

In the Stars At Night stamp set is a stamp for the largest star and I stamped it on Basic White card stock in Night of Navy ink, three times, re-inking between each stamp. The key here is to have each paper cut 3 x 4 as the die for this star is attached on either side by another die. You can see in this photo I couldn’t wait for the 4″ metal ring and made this ornament on the 3″ ring. I like it so much better framed on the 4″ ring! True, the ornament is different, but… this larger star needs the larger ring, in my opinion. Here is a side view to better show the three stars adhered together.

Stampin' Up! Stars At Night ornament

And in the case of this ornament, I adhered the deckled circles to the ring, both back and front. This can fold flat for storage if needed.

Stampin’ Up! Off-Set Gatefold with Autumn Leaves Bundle

Autumn can be such a beautiful time of year – changes colors of trees & shrubs. The main word is change… and flexibility is the key to change. Enough philosophy :O) My card is masculine in nature & one of gratitude. It uses the Autumn Leaves stamp set & coordinating dies PLUS the awesome All About Autumn DSPn – now back in stock!

Stampin' Up! Off-Set Gatefold w/ Autumn Leaves Bundle

I began with Early Espresso card stock and this All About Autumn SDSP. Our daughters are avid readers, as are their husbands, so guess I was thinking of them while making this card. Notice the narrow strip on the right side, that’s the other side of one of the designer papers in this pack, a Copper Clay color & gold- gorgeous! I’ve attached the die cut Deckled Circles to the main front of the card, but it would be so easy to attach instead to the narrow panel at right. Another option would be to have an additional layer of card stock under the DSP – I simply did not do that this time. So, change.

The front leaf was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink on Very Vanilla card stock with the Autumn Leaves stamp set, then die cut with the appropriate Autumn Leaves Dies. I adhered this to the die cut circles with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from Autumn Leaves stamp set in Early Espresso ink and trimmed the edges with paper snips and added it to the leaf with a dimensional cut in half in the middle. I had a length of Copper Ribbon that I attached with a glue dot at the bottom of the leaf. The ribbon comes from the Copper & Natural Ribbon Combo Pack. As a final touch I added three Adhesive-Backed Speckled Dots in Copper Clay.

Stampin' Up! Off-Set Gatefold w/ Autumn Leaves Bundle, inside

For the inside, I had a strip of the All About Autumn SDSP that I attached with liquid glue to the Very Vanilla panel. I then stamped these gorgeous leaves in Copper Clay ink on another piece of Very Vanilla card stock. Of course they are from the Autumn Leaves stamp set. I die cut them with the proper die from the Autumn Leaves Dies. I die cut the veins from a scrap of the All About Autumn SDSP on the copper side and adhered it directly to the leaves then those to the Very Vanilla panel. The Very Vanilla panel was added to the card base.

Stampin' Up Off-Set Gatefold w/ Autumn Leaves Bundle, card & envelope

I kept the envelope very simple… more of the Copper Clay/ gold pattern from the All About Autumn SDSP was added to the flap & trimmed to fit. And that was it!

This Designer Series Paper and the All about Autumn Bundle may be found in the Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalog. They are a wonderful set. Stampin’ Up! Craft Project with Night Divine Dies

Good morning Friday! I have a fun project for you today, ornaments! They are made with the Night Divine Dies, Deckled Circle Dies and Holy Night Designer Series Paper. We made these in my class yesterday :O)

Stampin' Up! Night Divine Dies Ornament 1
Stampin' Up! Night Divine Dies Ornament 2
Stampin' Up! Night Divine Dies Ornament 3
Stampin' Up! Night Divine Dies Ornament 4

Aren’t these beautiful? There was a video of how to make these on the Facebook Stampin’ Up! page and I loved the idea. The trickiest part is lining up the front & back of the papers – because of the edges of the Deckled Circles Dies. The first step is to either order the gold hoop online or look for them in a local craft store. These are 3″ hoops, and I used Simply Elegant Trim in Gold to attach to the DSP. You could also use Linen Thread.

  • Die cut the images from Basic Black card stock using the Night Divine Dies. besides the main image, I die cut an extra camel, and two sheep
  • Cut apart the shepherd and the wise man from the main image, leaving only Mary, Joseph and creche. See photo 1.
  • Using Deckled Circles Dies, die cut several circles from the Holy Night Designer Series Paper – or DSP of choice.
  • Using the same size die, die cut an equal amount of circles from Very Vanilla card stock, or coordinating card stock of your choice.
  • Align the DSP circle and the Very Vanilla circle so the deckled edges line up just right. Mark with pencil on the Very Vanilla piece. This will help align the two pieces later.
  • Add the die cut images as desired to the various DSP circles either with liquid glue or dimensionals. On these ornaments, Mary & Joseph are on dimensionals as are the Shepherd and the Wise Man.
  • Fold the Linen Thread in half and lay on surface. Hold thread in place with a glue dot at bottom and a glue dot at top of 3″ ring. Tie a double knot.
  • Slip the Very Vanilla panel under the thread making certain it is centered in the 3″ hoop. My pencil mark is under the thread, unseen.
  • Attach dimensional near top of circle over the Linen Thread. Twist thread, separating a bit and add dimensional near bottom of circle. This ‘twist of the thread” will keep the ornament straight in the hoop! Add additional dimensionals as necessary. See photo.
Stampin' Up! Night Divine Dies Ornament 5

Notice the twist of the thread? Did I mention how important that is? Good.

  • Remove backing on dimensionals and add the DSP layer.
  • Add Adhesive-Backed Star Trinkets. I used the larger star for Mary & Joseph and the smaller star for the other ornaments.
  • Cut a length of the the Very Vanilla Edge Ribbon and tie around Linen Thread at top of hoop in a double knot. This adds a finishing touch. You will notice that I chose to color some of the ribbon on the various ornaments using my Basic Black Stampin’ Blends. The coloring was done only on the very vanilla edges of the ribbon. I chose not to color every one though.

Very fun project! These Dies and Designer Series Papers may be found in the Sep-Dec 2023 Mini catalog. You can see other ornaments on page 17 of this catalog – and I will be posting similar ones later.

Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Hexagons & Let’s Go Fishing DSP

Good morning! This is one more of the cards made for Oct 7 World Card Making Day. It’s actually the first card I made with this new bundle. I have explained, Heartfelt Hexagons bundle is one that will be offered in the January to April 2024 Mini Catalog. Can you believe we are talking 2024??? I simply do NOT know what happened to 2023!

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Hexagons bundle & let's Go Fishing DSP

Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy and Soft Sea Foam just really compliment one another. Put all of these colors on Basic White and they pop. The card base is Misty Moonlight 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. I took a panel of Basic White and ran it through the Basics 3D embossing folder called Crosshatch. The Basics 3D embossing folders come as a set of 3 and this is one of my favorites. On a Basic White panel I stamped the outline for the sentiment in Misty Moonlight using a stamp from Heartfelt Hexagons. I then stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink, also from this same stamp set, and punched this with the Heartfelt Hexagons Punch. I put dimensionals on it and set it aside. I punched two more hexagons, this time from coordinating papers in Let’s Go Fishing DSP. I laid each of these on the embossed panel and decided there was too much white space… so pulled out the Layering Leaves bundle & Soft Sea Foam ink. There are a couple of different leaf stamps in this stamp set, but I decided to go with this one and stamped a couple of them, then punched them out with the coordinating Bough Punch. I pulled out the Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon and wrapped it around the embossed and Night of Navy layers, adhering in back with Stampin’ Seal. I put dimensionals on this and adhered it to the card base. I attached the sentiment panel (remember it’s on dimensionals), then a bit of Stampin’ Seal on the back of the middle panel and attached the punched leaves, put dimensionals on it and added it to the card front. The top panel was added with liquid glue and trimmed. As a final touch, I added several 2023-2025 In Color Dots.

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Hexagons & Let's Go Fishing DSP

For the inside… I added the remaining portion of the hexagon from the card front, to the Basic White panel, stamped the sentiment from Layering Leaves stamp set in Night of Navy ink and added this to a Night of Navy piece then to the inside of the card. I added two more of the 2023-2025 In Color Dots on either side of the sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Hexagons & Let's Go Fishing DSP card & envelope

For the envelope… I used another piece of the Let’s Go Fishing DSP to cover the flap & trimmed it to fit – and that was it. I’ll add the measurements at the bottom of this post. Each card I made with this new Heartflet Hexagon bundle was very different from the other – and I like being able to do that. It makes a set so versatile. If you have questions, please reach out to me. You may view the other cards made with this bundle here and here.

If you would like to purchase this bundle, now is a great time to do that… as part of celebrating 35 years in business, Stampin’ Up! has a joining promotion.

Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Hexagons Feminine Card

Good morning! A special thanks to Amy Koenders and Mary Deatherage for pulling together all the particulars for us to have an Inkin’ Krew World Card Making Day Event! Congratulations ladies – job well done! And thank you Rosie Kean, for being so good at posting links to blogs and answering questions. You are an amazing ‘behind the scenes’ woman! I hope each of crafters had fun as well – attending the card making videos AND participating in all the fun questions that were asked. One of the questions was: What’s your best organizing tip? For me, the answer is put everything back when completing a project. It makes life so much easier (for me). But there were lots of good tips shared, so look at those if you haven’t already.

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Hexagon Feminine Card

My card for today is the one I made in the video yesterday (watch the video by clicking on the underlined word, video)- with a Moody Mauve card base and an additional embossed panel using the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder. This is a favorite as it can be used on both masculine and feminine cards. I cut a piece of Fresh As A Daisy DSP then added a Basic White scalloped strip to the edge. That scallop die comes from the Zany Zoo Dies. I adhered that to the right edge of the DSP. I wrapped a Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon around about a third of the distance from the top and secured it in back. I put dimensionals on the Fresh As a Daisy DSP and added it to the card front about 3/8″ from the fold. I pulled out the brand new Heartfelt Hexagons stamp set (available now to demonstrators or in January to customers in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog.) There are border stamps for the hexagon: one is dots, the other has additional lines. Because the DSP is busy, I chose the simpler dot border stamp and Copper Clay ink to stamp on Basic White card stock. I stamped the sentiment from the same Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set in Moody Mauve ink, then punched this out with the coordinating Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. I put dimensionals in the corners of the hexagon to avoid the ribbon and attached it to the card front. I made a bow with the Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon and attached it with a glue dot to the left of the hexagon sentiment. As a final touch, I added three Tinsel Gems in Berry Burst from the Tinsel Gems Four Pack.

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Hexagon Feminine Card inside

For the inside, remember that scallop die cut for the card front? I saved the cut off edge and adhered it to the top of the Basic White panel for the inside of the card. I pulled out a Blending Brush and Bubble Bath ink highlight that die cut, give depth to the piece and a bit of femininity. I stamped the sentiment from Layering Leaves stamp set in Bubble Bath ink, and added this panel to the inside of the card. I will be sending this to a special friend just experiencing a family loss.

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Hexagon Feminine Sympathe card & envelope

For the envelope… more of the Fresh As A Daisy DSP on the flap, trimmed to fit and this very delicate, wonderful flower from the Heartfelt Hexagons stamp set stamped in Bubble Bath ink on the envelope front.

This is such a versatile bundle, Heartfelt Hexagons. I’m enjoying the opportunity to play :O) If you would like to purchase this set now, it would be a perfect opportunity to join my team as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. No pressure, but … Stampin’ Up! is offering an amazing deal as they are celebrating 35 years in business.

Now… let me share more of the Beary Christmas Memories & More Card Pack that I put together.

Stampin' Up! Beary C'mas Mem'ries & More card pack.1
Stampin' Up! Beary C'mas Mem'ries & More card pack.2
Stampin' Up! Beary C'mas Mem'ries & More card pack.3

You may have learned that I tend to make different cards and not all the same design. Yep, that’s part of my DNA, don’t duplicate. While the far left card and the far right card are similar, still, they are not the same.

Card 1, far left, uses a red card base in the card pack. Adhered directly to the card base is one of the larger panels from the pack of the very cute bears – or should I say Beary Cute :O) I used a piece of Vellum Basic DSP (polka dots) and adhered it to a Misty Moonlight strip cut the entire width. I added stickers from the Beary Christmas Memories and More card pack to the strip and three Irridescent Pastel Gems in Balmy Blue.

Card 2, middle, also uses a red card base from the Beary Christmas Memories & More Card Pack. I used my paper snips to trim down one of the card images and added it directly to the card base. I then cut a banner with the Nested Essentials Dies from Balmy Blue card stock. With my paper snips I again trimmed one of the smaller cards to use the sentiment banner. I adhered the sentiment banner to the Balmy Blue one, put dimensionals on and attached it to the card. I added three Festive Pearls in Red.

Card 3, far right, is the simplest yet: Balmy Blue card base from the Beary Christmas Mem’ries & More Cards & Envelopes; a Basic White panel then the bear image all adhered one on the other. I trimmed down this sentiment banner from one of the cards in the pack and attached it directly to the card. As a final touch I added an Irridescent Pastel Gem to each end of the sentiment. And done! Three more cards for my Christmas card list :O) This is such a great card pack and of course, I used the coordinating Beary Christmas Memories & More Cards & Envelopes for the card pack. So convenient!!!
