SU! So Much Happy

Hello Everyone! Today’s card is made with the brand new So Much Happy Stamp Set and matching dies… Happy Dies. You are going to love this set… it has so much to offer and I had the best time making today’s card.

And thank you for stopping by… Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop is full of fabulous cards and inspiration. Here’s mine…

So Much Happy stamp set
Happy Dies
Playing with Patterns DSP
#1

Oh so much to share about this card… first of all, masculine or feminine, child or adult – it fits!  Next – the dies (Happy Dies) and paper (Playing With Patterns 6×6 DSP) make this card so easy. And the stamp set ( So Much Happy) allows you to make this not just a birthday card but also a graduation or a celebration of a wonderful person.

Here’s a list of supplies…

  • So Much Happy stamp set (card front and envelope front)
  • Happy Dies (card front)
  • Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP (card front)
  • Whisper White cs (background for card front and inside panel)
  • 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 ( banner on card front and envelope flap)
  • Best Year stamp set (for the inside sentiment)
  • Bumblebee cs and ink (card base and balloons on envelope)
  • Calypso Coral cs (balloon tail and inside panel)
  • Stazon black ink (sentiments)
  • Journaling pen (balloon tails on envelope)

And here’s the how to…

I started by choosing to play with the Playing With Patterns 6×6 DSP – so many fun papers in this stack! Because it already had this wonderful angle design, I followed that angle and used the die cut from the Happy Dies.  OK, what else? I played around with some other options for the balloon and star but returned to the scraps of the Playing With Patterns 6×6 DSP and came up with a match for the balloon tail as well (Calypso Coral) die cut both the balloon and star  and the tail at the same time. :o) Next I stamped the birthday sentiment. Then I wanted just one more accent… the Happy Dies have two dies that do not cut but EMBOSS your paper with a design. I used the one that looks like a broken underscore line and embossed it between the HAPPY and the birthday. Can you see it in the photo? If you put your curser on the photo and enlarge it, it’s visible and really adds a fun touch to the card. I adhered the balloon tail where I wanted it then adhered this DSP panel to Whisper White, put dimensionals on the balloon and star and attached. I wasn’t quite ready to stop – – I die cut the banner twice using the Happy Dies and the 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 DSP (Bumblebee). I die cut it twice to add dimension to the banner. This was adhered with small dots of liquid glue. This completed panel was adhered to the Bumblebee cs with dimesnionals. Card front complete!

The inside…

Best Year stamp set
#2

Don’t you love the different fonts in this sentiment?  And the sentiment is pretty darn neat too :o) This was stamped in Stazon black ink onto a Whisper White panel for a very crisp look – using the Best Year stamp set. This in turn, was adhered to Calypso Coral with liquid glue then attached to the card inside, again with liquid glue. Your card is done!

Now for the envelope… let’s take a peek at that envelope again…

So Much Happy stamp set
2020-2022 In Color 6×6 DSP
#3

I stamped the balloons with Bumblebee ink (new In Color!) and added the tails with my black Journaling pen. The envelope flap got covered with the 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 Bumblebee paper and the card set was done!

Now let me show you one of the other dies in this Happy Dies package that allows you to emboss a pattern on the card. You may need to enlarge the photon to see it though. I stamped the sentiment, added the embossing to the left and at near the bottom of the panel and adhered it to a Calypso Coral panel before realizing it was going in the wrong direction for my card! It’s been saved, have no worries there, but look for the embossing in the photo below.

SU!Thank You with DSP Focus

Hi Everyone! Today’s card was created for our neighbor who so generously gave us unused mulch… of course, I had to cart it uphill to our yard, but hey, it was free…  useful… and needed. So there you have it.😉 We have great neighbors! And I totally cased this card from Amy Koenders!

Here’s the card…

Ornate Thanks stamp set
Ornate Layers Dies
#1

And here’s a list of supplies…

  • Ornate Thanks stamp set
  • Ornate Layers Dies
  • Stitched Rectangles Dies
  • Misty Moonlight 2020-2022 In Color ribbon
  • In Good Taste DSP
  • Neutral 6×6 DSP – Night of Navy
  • Night of Navy ink & cs
  • Whisper White cs
  • Smokey Slate cs
  • Versamark
  • White embossing powder

And here’s how I did it…

I started by die cutting the two rectangles for the front using the Stitched Rectangles Dies. I adhered these two together with the new Stampin Seal (it works great… has an end cap so it doesn’t stick to anything else when you put it away. I’m happy with it.) I then adhered them to the card front (Smokey Slate) with the same Stampin Seal. With Night of Navy cs I stamped the card front sentiment with Versamark ink using the Ornate Thanks stamp set, sprinkled it with White Embossing powder and heat set it. TIP… this needs to cool a bit before handling as it’s kinda sticky while still warm. I then die cut it using the Ornate Layers Dies. This was put on dimensionals and set aside. I cut a length of ribbon from the Misty Moonlight 2020-2022 In Color spool and adhered it with the Stampin Seal. The sentiment on dimesnionals was placed over the top and centered on the card.

For the inside…

Ornate Thanks stamp set
#2

With a panel of Whisper White cs, I stamped the sentiment from Ornate Thanks stamp set in Night of Navy. I adhered a strip of the Neutral 6×6 DSP in Night of Navy 1/4″ from the bottom and added another strip of the In Good Taste DSP over the top. This was adhered to the Smokey Slate card base and the card was complete!

The envelope…

Ornate Thanks stamp set #3

Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy from the Ornate Thanks stamp set. Adhere the Neutrals 6×6 Night of Navy to the envelope flap and the envelope is complete. Wheee. Easy peasy and so perfect for our neighbors.

All of these products may be found in the new 2020-2021 SU! catalog. If you do not have a demonstrator and wish to have a catalog, contact me. Either way, here’s a PDF copy for you to browse at your leisure.

Stampin’ Up! NEW Beautiful World

It is Tuesday and just one more day before the 2020-2021n Annual Catalogue goes LIVE! Eek… More new stuff 😁 –  Today’s card features several products that are part of a suite of absolute gems… Beautiful World stamp set with coordinating World  I almost forgot… the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder (fabulous!). Let’s take a look…

Beautiful World stamp set
World Map Dies
#1

Basic ingredients for this card…

  • Cinnamon Cider cs
  • World of Good Specialty DSP
  • Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder
  • Brass Foil Sheets
  • World of Good Memories and More Card Pack
  • Beautiful World stamp set
  • World 0f Map Dies
  • Lovely Labels Pick a Punch
  • Misty Moonlight cs/ ink
  • Very Vanilla cs (for the fussy cut sentiment and inside panel)

While this seems like a lot of items, this card goes together very quickly. – and here’s how to do that… card cuts are listed at the bottom of this post.

  • Using the fabulous (oh, did I say that already?) Old World Paper 3D Embossing folder, emboss a panel of the World of Good Specialty DSP. This paper is thin enough and I don’t think it needs spritzing before putting through the embossing folder.
  • Adhere this with liquid glue to your Cinnamon Cider cs base
  • Die cut the two worlds using the World Map Dies and a strip of the Brass Foil Sheets,
  • Adhere with liquid glue to a card from the World of Good Memories and More Card Pack
  • Put dimensionals on this and adhere to another panel of the World of Good Specialty DSP. Add dimensionals to this and adhere to the card front.
  • Stamp your sentiment from the Beautiful World stamp set with Misty Moonlight on Very Vanilla scrap and fussy cut. Adhere this to the Misty Moonlight strip that was cut with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch.
  • Attach the label with liquid glue at the top and mini dimensionals along the bottom. Card front is complete!
  • Now for the inside and the envelope…
  • Stamp the world using the Beautiful World stamp set, stamping off twice with Misty Moonlight on a Very Vanilla panel.
  • Stamp the sentiment using the same set and Misty Moonlight ink, stamping at least twice to darken.
  • Adhere the Vary Vanilla panel to a piece of Misty Moonlight with liquid glue and attach to the card inside.
  • The envelope got this cuter little inkwell with Basic Gray ink and the feather in Misty Moonlight  – looks like an old world pen & ink!
  • Beautiful World stamp set

Stampin’ Up! In Good Taste, Mix and Match

Hi Everyone! Hope you had a nice Memorial Day weekend… it was cloudy and overcast, perfect for yard work, not so much for partying… and with the pandemic, not really possible anyway.Still, so thankful and appreciative to those who served our country, sometimes losing their lives, and those who still serve… Grateful, thankful, appreciative…

Today’s card is masculine! I know, a bit unusual for me. I like the simplicity of this card, yet it still has several elements and dimension. This could so easily be a Father’s Day card or birthday card, or a card of thanks and appreciation. Let’s take a look…

In Good Taste DSP Well Said stamp set #1

And here’s what you need to make this card…

  • In Good Taste DSP
  • 2020-2022 In Color 6 x 6 DSP
  • 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots
  • Misty Moonlight cs and ink
  • Whisper White cs
  • Braided Linen Trim
  • Lovely Labels Pick a Punch
  • Well Said stamp set
  • Ornate Style stamp set

And here’s how to do it…

  • Cut a piece of Misty Moonlight for your card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. Set aside
  • Cut a piece of 2020-2022 In Color 6 x 6 using the Misty Moonlight color, 4 x 5 1/4 and adhere to Whisper White cs 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.
  • Fussy cut a panel of the In Good Taste DSP and adhere to a panel of Whisper White about 1 1/2 width for stability. I like this blue/ white piece as it reminds me of Delft and Bing and Grondahl plates. Does it for you? I put this panel on dimensions and set it aside for now.
  • Next I cut a 1/2 strip of Misty Moonlight for a background for my sentiment. I punched the one end using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.
  • Stamp your sentiment using the Misty Moonlight ink spot provided in the May PP. (I used the Well Said stamp set and taped off the IS YOU. to use for the inside) on a Whisper White scrap, punch the end with the same Lovely You Pick a Punch and adhered to the Misty Moonlight piece.
  • I laid this on the card front and decided something was missing – so the Braided Linen Thread to the rescue! This is a nice masculine type trim and I like the neutral and how it seemed to tie everything together (PUN :)) Add snail to the back of the 2020-2022 In Color DSP and Whisper White panel, placing the trim 3/4 from the bottom of your panel.
  • Since the sentiment is going over the braided trim, cut your dimensionals in half and place on opposite sides so the sentiment panel doesn’t wobble (ask me how I know that!). Once you have your sentiment strip where you want it, adhere over the trim and cut off the extended end.
  • I added three 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots to the sentiment panel and felt something was still missing. Braided Linen trim to the rescue again! I cut a length and tied a half knot just beyond the sentiment panel and adhered it with a glue dot. Then I frayed the ends of the braided trim cuz I like the look 🙂
  • Let’s see, did we do everything?   Yikes – remember the In Good Taste panel – it has dimensionals on it ready to be adhered – do that and your card front is nearly complete.
  • Put this entire panel on the Misty Moonlight card base in the very first step and your card front is done… yay.

For the inside…

Well Said stamp set
Misty Moonlight
#2

  • Cut a panel of Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4,.
  • Adhere a 1/2 strip of the 2020-2022 In Color DSP to the right  about 1/4 from the edge.
  • Stamp the rest of the sent (is you.) with the Misty Moonlight ink spot
  • Adhere to the inside of your card with liquid glue

Remember to do your envelope… See photo..

  • I adhered the 2020-2022 In Color 6 x 6 DSP to the envelope flap and trimmed to fit
  • I stamped this fun decoration that seemed to fit the Delft look – using the Ornate Style stamp set and the Misty Moonlight ink spot.

Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Touches

Hi Everyone! It is a cool Thursday here on the East Coast, much cooler than usual for May 21. It is however, sunny – yay… Today’s project began because I saw a card in the new catalogue that had a flower that I really, really liked (see pg 19)and I didn’t know to what stamp set it belonged as it is a new item. I searched and searched and finally found it 😁 (now go to pg. 124) And guess what… I have the stamp from my preorder!!! Little did I know/ realize. So I pulled it out and began playing. The set is called Tasteful Touches and I love everything about this set – from the sentiment fonts to the beautiful images. Here is the start of my playing…

Tasteful Touches
#1

Since I was playing, I first stamped in Soft Suede and prepped two flowers. Aren’t they stunning? I was thinking sepia tone. I colored in all the flower petals for the flower on the left using Wink of Stella – can you see the sparkle in the photo? Then I used Dark So Saffron Blends to color the center. I like it but the flower appears more yellow than sepia tone so I continued playing. The flower to the right is colored using both Light and Dark Petal Pink Blends and Mango Melody for the center. I like this too! In this stamp set is a lovely leaf bunch and I began playing with that… stamping in Soft Suede and coloring in the leaves with Granny Apple Green Blends – again doing two of them. I fussy cut them and decided to make my card with this bunch.  What to do… Here’s the final card – waaay different than my original intention. My hubby calls it ‘rustic’.

Tasteful Touches
#2

  • Crumb Cake cs – roughed the edges by moistening on the back side with an aqua painter then scruffing with my open scissors
  • In Good Taste DSP
  • Soft Sea Foam cs cut with Stitched Shapes Dies
  • Gold Hoop Embellishments
  • Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack
  • Gilded Gems
  • Linen Thread
  • Soft Suede ink
  • Thick Whisper White cs

The inside…

Tasteful Touches
#3

And another view…

Tasteful Touches
#4

What do you think? It is definitely not my ‘run of the mill’ card but I like it a lot. Hope you do as well. The sentiment on the card front is fussy cut and set on dimensionals. The envelope got it’s special treatment as well: In Good Taste DSP on the envelope flap and sentiment from Tasteful Touches on the card front stamped in Soft Suede.

Perhaps tomorrow I will have something creative using the beautiful flowers I prepared today! In the meantime…

Thanks for stopping by.

May you have a beautiful day.

Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Hello All! Today’s post is all about Paper Pumpkin, primarily the May ’20 PP. The colors in this kit show off the new In Colors: Bumblebee, Cinnamon, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Misty Midnight. I really like the names AND the colors themselves – together, well, not so much 😏. Included in the kit was a new ink spot from the new In Color Misty MidnightLet’s take a look…

This first card is made just as suggested…

PP April ’20
Card 1

Card #2 is similar, except I cut it apart vertically in various widths and mounted it on Magenta Madness cs. Everything else is the same.

PP Alternative 1
Card 2

Card 3 I cut apart again making various sizes of squares. They didn’t fit together quite the way I wanted (ugh!) Again I mounted the squares on Magenta Madness. I used a sentiment from Silhouette Scenes.

PP Alternative #2
Card 3

Card 4 wasn’t cut at all, simply mounted on the Magenta Madness and put on dimensionals, again using the sentiment from Silhouette Scenes.

PP Alternative #3
Card 4

The second set of cards I chose to do was a bit more of a challenge and I made not one the way it was suggested. Card 5…  I removed the card front and cut it in fourths, adhered to Misty Madness cs and mounted on dimensionals, adhering to Thick Whisper White cs. I cut a 1 1/2″ banner from the In Color 2020-2021 6 x 6 DSP using the Triple Banner Punch and adhered to the vellum banner that was part of the kit. I trimmed the vellum banner point to match. I stamped a sentiment on a  1 1/4″ banner from Silhouette Scenes stamp set and adhered that to the same banner. I wrapped the Ruched Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Ribbon around and tied a knot, adhering with a glue dot. The full banner then got dimensionals and was placed as you see it.

PP Alternative #4
Card 5

Card 6 was done similarly except… I placed a 1/2″ strip in the middle from the In Color 2020-2021 6×6 DSP pack (new and available Jun 3), included the vellum panel from the kit, cut a label from Tasteful Labels Dies (new in catalog and available Jun 3) in the In Color 6×6 DSP pack and adhered in the center with dimensionals. I cut another label from the same die set (this is an awesome die set folks!), stamped the sentiment using the ink spot Misty Midnight from the Well Said stamp set. (Father’s Day is JUST around the corner and I thought this could be a fun masculine card)This was adhered to the blue label with dimensionals. I added three 2020-2021 n Color Enamel Dots

PP Alternative #5
Card 6

Card 7 I got a bit more creative and decided a lighthearted Father’s Day card would be fun. I again removed the card front, then used the Balloon Punch to create two balloons. Using the colors in the stripes, I punched additional balloons from Bumblebee cs, Misty Midnight and Pumpkin Pie. I stamped the sentiment on various balloons using the Well Said stamp set. Special Someone stamp set was used to create the rest of the card: tails on the balloons, the raccoon (Soft Suede), the mouse (Smokey Slate). The little embellishments were included in the kit. I added a banner at the bottoms from leftover parts of the card front. This Whisper White got dimesnionals and adhered to Misty Midnight card base.

PP Alternative #6
Card 7

Card 8 and I went a little crazy over the top…  There were left overs from the previous card front so I cut it down to make a square (about 3″), adhered that to a Misty Midnight scallop square cut from the Squares Dies and adhered this to a Bumblebee 3 1/2 x 7 panel (scored at 3 1/2). I used a section of the card front for the inside that shows a bit of the colors where I removed the card front 😉

PP Alternative #7
Card 8

PP Alternative #7
Card 8 small panel inside

Using a Misty Midnight card base, I adhered a panel 4 x 5 1/2 from the 2020-2021 In Color 6×6 pack to the card front . I then adhered the Bumblebee piece all the way to the top of the fold with liquid glue. I stamped a sentiment from the Dressed to Impress stamp set to a piece of Whisper White and cut a banner from the Tasteful Labels Dies (did I say I love these dies?). I adhered one of the fun embellishments from the PP kit to the banner, added dimensionals and adhered to this Bumblebee panel. For the bottom of this card, I stamped another sentiment from the Dressed to Impress stamp set using the included ink spot and cut it using another banner from the Tasteful Labels Dies. I stamped the show in Melon Mambo, colored in with Wink of Stella to give it some glimmer and fussy cut it and adhered to this banner with liquid glue. This banner was added to the card with dimensionals. Again, more embellishments from the PP kit.

Since this card was made with someone special in mind, I wanted lots of room to write something. I simply adhered another of the leftover pieces from the removed card front to a Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4. This was adhered with liquid glue and this card was now complete.

PP Alternative #7
Card 8

Whew! That was fun… 4 more cards in the PP kit to make, but not today. Paper Pumpkin is a fun “gift” to receive each month. It most often has cards to make, but sometimes includes bags or boxes. Each kit includes a stamp set, an ink spot, embellishments such as seen today, also ribbon, adhesives, AND instructions – how great is that?! Consider a PP kit for one month, six months or a years subscription. Ship with me now…

Stampin’ Up! AMY’S INKIN’ KREW Blog Hop

The theme for this month’s Blog Hop is all about “For the boys/ men…” and we could interpret that any way we wanted. Hubby’s birthday is in June and he is a sailing man. The new blue in the 2020-2021 In Colors for Stampin’ Up! is titled Misty Midnight. I love that! And it’s perfect to work with for a man – my man. And the Sailing Home carrying over stamp set is a perfect match in many ways. I also used the NEW Tasteful Labels Dies (eek! – fun!) and the Many Mates stamp set (love this too!)

You may be joining me today from the talented Julie Johnston. Thanks for following the blog hop!

The card is a take-off of a Gate Fold card – modified version. I actually followed the really good directions of my upline Mary Deatherage, who created a card using this fun fold. It’s easy!

For the boys/ men #1

  • Cut your card base 4 1/4 x 11, score at 5 1/2. I used Whisper White
  • Cut another piece of card stock (I used Night of Navy 5 1/4 x 8, score at 2″ and 6″
  • Mark the center of each of the short panels( 2 5/8). Cut to the center of each short panel (or gates) creating a V – see photo… I apologize… should have taken a photo PRIOR to completing the card – grrr

For the boys/ men #2

  • Cut a piece of  In Good Taste DSP 1 7/8 x 5 (2 of these) Follow the same procedure for cutting.  Adhere DSP panels to the card front “gates” using liquid glue. (This DSP is available to customers June 3!)
  • Cut apiece of the 2020-2021 6 x 6 DSP  Misty Midnight 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 and adhere using liquid glue to the inside of the Night of Navy panel (This DSP is available to customers June 3!)
  • Using the Stitched so Sweetly Dies, cut a panel for the sentiment and the sailboat. The sentiment, sailboat and birds are from Sailing Home stamp set.  I used Night of Navy ink. Adhere to the inside front panel with liquid glue.
  • Adhere this modified gate-fold to your card base with liquid glue.
  • Cut a strip 1 x 10 for the belly band. I used the new 2020-2021 IN COLOR Bumblebee. Don’t you love that name? It is so descriptive.
  • Cut another panel using a smaller Stitched So Sweetly Dies and Bumblebee card stock. Adhere to the belly band with dimensionals.
  • * Using two of the Tasteful Labels Dies (available to customers June 3!), cut panels, one in Night of Navy and one in Whisper White. Adhere with liquid glue to the Bumblebee diecut.
  • Stamp your sentiment using the new Many Mates stamp set. I added three of the new 2020-2021 In Color Enamel Dots. They are so cute! (Both of these are also available to customers June 3)

The front of your card is complete! Yay! And it’s gorgeous already. 😏 Now for the inside…

For the boys/ men… #3

  • Cut a piece of Night of Navy 5 3/8 x 4 1/8. Adhere using liquid glue.
  • Cut a Whisper White 5 x 3 7/8. Stamp with your sentiment and the anchor from the Sailing Home stamp set and Night of Navy ink. Adhere using liquid glue. Done!

Remember your envelope…Cover the envelope flap with the new 2020-2021 6 x 6 In Color DSP, adhering with liquid glue. Trim. Done, done, done…

Stampin’ Up! and Mosaic Mood SDSP, Butterfly Gala

Hi Folks – it’s Friday, May 1! Aren’t we supposed to have a maypole with streamers and dance around it? If that’s the case, why is it raining so stinking hard? At least the temp is not so terrible… at 5 AM it’s reading 53 degrees! So I guess we COULD go out and dance in the rain, couldn’t we… might be fun. 😂 Well thank you very much, right now I’m writing :o)

For today’s card the focus is on the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP. It’s the standout… a rather modern look and shiny and can easily be a masculine card. And here’s how we do it…

Mosaic Mood Specialty
DSP, #1

  • Garden Green is the card base 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
  • Mint Macaron 4 x 5 1/4 (cut 2, one is for the inside)
  • Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP 3 3/4 x 5. Adhere to the Mint Macaron panel with liquid glue.
  • Wrap with Very Vanilla twine (is this retired???), tie a bow. Put this on dimesnionals and adhere to the card front.
  • Stamp your sentiment from the Butterfly Gala stamp set in Garden Green ink. Punch this with your Tag Topper punch. Do another out of Garden Green cs, Adhere together with liquid glue keeping a bottom border.
  • Put dimensionals on just at the top point and bottom point to adhere over the twine.
  • Bingo – your card front is complete!

The inside…

Butterfly Gala #2

  • Adhere the extra Mint Macaron panel to the inside.
  • Cut a piece of Very Vanilla cs 3 3/4 x 5. Stamp your sentiment, again from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, in Garden Green ink.
  • At the bottom, adhere a thin strip of Garden Green cs with liquid glue, then a 1/2 x 4 strip of Mosaic Mood SDSP. Adhere this to the mint Macaron and your card is done!

The envelope got a little extra treatment today…

  • Mosaic Mood SDSP adhered to the flap
  • Butterfly Gala butterflies stamped in the front in Black Memento ink. I love how there is a separate stamp for the body AND for the antennae – for both the small butterfly and the large one.

Mosaic Mood, Butterfly Gala #3

Here’s a reminder…. The Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP is retiring! But… the Butterfly Gala stamp set is not 😁

I was going to save this next card for tomorrow, but just couldn’t wait. it’s too much fun…  the technique is called Scrappy Strip and was developed by Bruno Bertucci. I used scraps from my Mosaic Mood stash to cut strips at an angle and the Butterfly Gala stamp set for the sentiment. Stitched Rectangles Dies were used for the sentiment. Please take special note of the envelope, cuz I like that as much as the card!

Stampin’ Up! April 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Hello again… so glad to have you visit… Todays cards were created using the April 2020 Paper Pumpkin and some additional supplies – so alternatives if you will. My hubby has a big family (I have a twin brother) and they are very close – so these family cards are really perfect for him to send. I sent one of yesterdays cards to my bro already 😏 Here are the new creations…

Apr ’20 PP alternative #1 – I used the basic plan but trimmed the Crushed Curry band with my Triple Banner Punch, stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink and trimmed it also with the Triple Banner Punch. Both are on dimensionals. One of the birds is adhered with a glue dot and the other with a mini dimensional cut in half.

Apr ’20 PP alternative #1

Apr ’20 PP alternative #2 – I cut off the z-fold of one of the cards and covered the pattern with Garden Lane DSP and trimmed it down to 3 7/8 x 5 3/8. The tree ‘leaves’ were stamped in Flirty Flamingo and embellished with lots of pearls from the kit; the two birds were put on mini dimensionals cut in half. The tree was adhered with glue dots. This panel was adhered with liquid glue to an Early Espresso cs 4 x 5 1/2 then wrapped with Daffodil Delight 1/4″ ribbon. I then stamped one of the banners with Early Espresso ink and trimmed the edges, put it on dimensionals and adhered it over the ribbon. This entire panel was adhered to thick Whisper White cs with dimensionals. The envelope flap got the same Garden Lane DSP adhered with liquid glue.

Apr ’20 PP alternative #2

Apr ’20 PP alternative #3 – I really like the simplicity of this card and the sentiment panel is perfect. I simply could not cover it with anything! The panel was adhered to a piece of Soft Sea Foam cs using liquid glue then attached to the left front panel of the z fold with snail. I attached several pearls from the kit. Did I say I love this? I love this!

Apr ’20 PP alternative #3

Apr ’20 PP alternative #4 – I was on a roll with these sentiment panels but wanted to step it up a bit this time… I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut the sentiment panel then cut another panel with the next larger Stitched Rectangles Dies out of Soft Sea Foam cs. The sentiment panel was adhered to the Soft Sea Foam with dimensionals and these were attached to the left front panel of the z fold with snail. I punched the butterflies from the kit and adhered with a glue dot and embellished those with pearls from the kit.

Apr ’20 PP alternative #4

Apr ’20 PP Alternative #5 – Remember how I removed the z fold on a previous card? Well, I took one of those panels and stamped it in Granny Apple Green ink from the stamps provided in the kit. I adhered the tree to it with glue dots and put dimensionals on the back and set it aside. I cut a piece of Soft Sea Foam cs 4 x 5 1/4 and ran it through the Woodland embossing folder (spritzing it first to break down the fibers and get a wonderful deep design.) This panel was adhered to a 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2,  Soft Sea Foam with liquid glue. I adhered a strip of Granny Apple Green 5/8″ ribbon with glue dots, stamped one of the banners in Early Espresso ink, cut it down and adhered it over the banner with dimensionals

Apr ’20 PP alternative #5

Apr ’20 PP alternative #6 – this was fun too! I stamped the little butterflies provided in the kit all around and in the tree, sometimes covering a portion of the stamp if it was too long. This was done in Crushed Curry ink. The tree and butterfly from the kit were adhered with glue dots. I trimmed one of the Crushed Curry banners from the kit, adhered it with dimensionals, stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink and adhered with glue dots.

Apr ’20 PP alternative #6

Apr ’20 PP alternative #7 – I took the card provided in the kit and adhered Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP over the pattern section. I adhered the tree with glue dots and embellished the design with more pearls. I took a  Crushed Curry banner and trimmed it, stamped a sentiment on another banner with Crushed Curry ink, trimmed it and adhered with liquid glue. I took a piece of this fun trim that was a freebie during SAB, tied a bow and adhered with a glue dot. The envelope flap got the same Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP.

Apr ’20 PP alternative #7

I’m so proud of myself… I was determined not to let the PP pumpkin kits go unused – or to be more honest with myself, to not be completed. I feel as though I have made a HUGE change and am excited about the results. I hope you like what I have done with this kit. The next PP (you must subscribe by May 10) will have 4 of the new IN COLORS – wheee! We don’t know what those are yet, but that will be their “reveal” to the world 😁

Today the RETIRING LIST has been made available!!! I will be back again to make sure you have that information.

Thanks for stopping by.

May you have a beautiful day.

Stampin’ Up! DSP and Detailed Bands Die

Todays post is all about the Stampin’ Up Detailed Bands Dies and a couple of 6 x 6 DSPs – to be exact, the 2019-21 In Color 6×6 DSP and the Neutrals 6×6 DSP. I’ve created two cards in the same format, just changed things up a bit differently for each. Let’s take a look.

2019-21 In Color 6×6 DSP, Detailed Bands Die

Neutrals 6×6 DSP, Detailed Bands Die

See how similar? Can you tell the differences? Both hav e ther raised center, but the left or Smokey Slate card has a shadow created at the top with a piece of Smokey Slate, the Terracotta Tile card on the right does not. The other obvious difference is the ribbon on the Terracotta Tile card. Originally I thought each card would be totally monochromatic, but I didn’t like it so simply switched the center section. What’s pretty cool with this die is the center is cut at the same time, so it can be used – or not.

Here are the details:

  • Smokey Slate 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4
  • The next layer is a Thick Whisper White 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
  • The following layer is the coordinating DSP. I love the handwriting piece!
  • Adhere layers 2 and 3 together with liquid glue
  • In the Smokey Slate card those two layers were adhered to the front of the card with liquid glue. In the Terracotta Tile card, I put these two layers on dimensionals and adhered them to the card front
  • Using the Detailed Bands Dies, cut your band out of Whisper White cs. Adhere directly to the card front with liquid glue in the center of the card. On the Terracotta Tile card I did attach a Metallic Edge Ribbon 3/8″ to each end using glue dots, then adhered it to the card front. Here’s a picture (not a very good one) of where I put the liquid glue on the back of the band.

Detailed Bands Die – glue areas circled

  • Cut another center out of Smokey Slate, cut in half lengthwise and set aside
  • Stamp your sentiment on the center piece using your Stamparatus. It allows for perfect centering! Since I was creating two cards at the same time, one was stamped using Smokey Slate, and the other was Terracotta Tile. The sentiment – Peaceful Moments stamp set
  • The center band stamped in Terracotta Tile got one half of the Smokey Slate piece adhered to the back to create a shadow
  • Adhere the center band to the card front with dimensionals.
  • Trim the ends of the bands

The inside…

           Terracotta Tile card inside

  • Cut a 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White panel
  • Adhere a 1/2 x 4 strip of the coordinating DSP 1/4″ from bottom
  • Using the Positive Thoughts stamp set, stamp the butterfly in Smokey Slate full strength and then continuing up the panel without reinking
  • Adhere the white panel to the card inside and the card is done!
  • The envelope is the last step…

Neutrals 6×6 DSP, Detailed Bands Die

Stamp the feather from Positive Thoughts stamp set on the card front using the same steps as with the butterfly – stamp full strength and continue stamping across without reinking. Adhere a coordinating Smokey Slate Neutral 6×6 DSP panel to the envelope flap.

2019-21 In Color 6×6 DSP, Detailed Bands Die

    Terracotta Tile card inside

  • Here the butterfly is stamped in Smokey Slate full strength each time for the card front. I actually stamped 3 times but one is hidden!
  • Adhere the same 2019-21 In Color 6×6 DSP to the envelope flap and these two cards are complete! So why did I use a feather on one card and a butterfly on the other? Simple… I wanted to use the feather on the Smokey Slate card to make it more useful as a masculine card and I think it works perfectly.
