Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Sympathy

Good Friday Morning! I have a couple of quick cards for you today, both very similar and made with By the Bay Specialty DSP (retiring product!) and Inspired Thoughts stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Inspired Thoughts Sympathy #1
Stampin' Up! Inspired Thoughts Sympathy #2

The card on the left has an additional layer of embossed Basic White (with Cross Hatch embossing folder) behind the DSP layers. The left card uses Shimmer Ribbon and Festive Pearls in Silver, while the right card uses Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and Classic Matte Dots. The left card is stamped in Gray Granite ink while the right card is embossed with White Embossing powder and heat set. Both use the Label Me Fancy Punch for the sentiment banner. The card on the left was made for a gentleman who lost his mother and the card on the right was made for a woman – same formats, just a bit different.

The card on the left uses Night of Navy ink for the sentiment (from Inspiring Thoughts stamp set) while the card on the right is Gray Granite ink. Both are stamped on Basic White with a layer of Night of Navy ~ and both have a card base of Gray Granite card stock.

The lighting is so different on these two cards! Go figure… I’m curious, do you have a preference? Do you like one card better than the other? I think my preference is the card on the left with the embossed layer of white.

Card cuts are listed at the bottoms of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Tailor Made Tags Dies Anniversary

Monday, Monday… remember that song? It’s hard to believe it’s Monday already… where does the time go? I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Do you ever search through Pinterest, find an idea you like and file it in your brain – then try to find it again, and can’t? Well, today’s card is just that – a CASE of someone, I just can’t give credit cuz I don’t know who it is. At any rate, I’ve kept the colors really simple – Misty Moonlight and Basic White.

Tailor Made Tag Dies Anniversary.1

I began with a Thick Basic White card base and added a panel of Basic White regular card stock that had been run through the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder – adhered with dimensionals. I took a strip of Misty Moonlight card stock and wrapped 1 1/2″ Metallic Mesh Ribbon over it adhering in back with Seal+. I then stamped the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stamp set on a Basic White piece with Misty Moonlight ink and die cut it using the Tailor Made Tag Dies. I tied Misty Moonlight & Silver twine (from Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack) around the mesh ribbon and through the hole in the tag and made a bow I secured the bow with a glue dot. I adhered all this to the card front with dimensionals, added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the card front was done.

Tailor Made Tag Dies Anniversary.2

For the inside I stamped the sentiment from Elegantly Said stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink on another panel of Basic White card stock. I then stamped the flower in stamped off Misty moonlight ink, adhered the panel with liquid glue to the inside and the card was complete.

Tailor Made Tag Dies Annjiversary.3

For the envelope I ran another piece of Basic White card stock through the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the flap, trimmed to fit. Finis!. I love the simplicity of this card – it’s elegant.

Card cuts are listed at the bottom of this post.

Stampin’ Up! All Squared Away, Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day! And to those who nurture, encourage, and inspire others, we celebrate you as well. May you have a day of ……. Today’s card is one that could be used as a birthday card, a hello card, a cheerful thinking of you card. And it is made with one of the new bundles in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog called All Squared Away.

All Squared Away – #1

Oh, I just realized the lighting wasn’t quite right, I hope you can see it OK. I first die cut my squares using the Floral Squares Dies that are part of this All Squared Away bundle. Aren’t they cute? And just so you know, there are four squares and naturally, I’ve only used three. I used additional dies in this set to cut the various flowers using some of the new In Colors card stock: Pale Papaya, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia. These were adhered with dabs of liquid glue. I then embellished those with these adorable Loose Flower Flourishes, again adhered w/ dabs of liquid glue. I then added these to a panel of 2021-2023 In Color 6×6 DSP (Pale Papaya) that was adhered to a piece of Basic White card stock. I stamped the sentiment with Fresh Freesia ink on a strip of Basic White, added a length of Grosgrain Ribbon in Highland Heather, put dimensionals on the back and attached it. One last addition was theoh so cute Bumblebee trinket attached with a glue dot. This entire panel was added to a Pale Papaya card base. This is just so fresh! Love every bit of it.

All Squared Away #2

For the inside, I grabbed another new stamp set called Inspired Thoughts, and used this sentiment stamped in Fresh Freesia ink on a Basic White panel. I wrote my own Happy Mother’s Day beneath it! I adhered this with liquid glue to the inside of the card & voila – all done!

All Squared Away, #3

For the envelope, I adhered two coordinating pieces of the 2021-2023 In Colors 6×6 DSP to the flap and that was it. And this photo shows the card much better 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Sympathy

How’s everybody? Are you feeling as though things are getting a wee bit back? Maybe not so scary but still cautious and careful? Well, I do. Maybe it’s because it’s Spring and so much new life in nature, but somehow I feel more secure. Oh yes, still wearing a mask, still not going out much, still washing hands all the time, but I have a very positive feeling. And I’m grateful… about all kinds of things. What do you think about making a grateful list? Be detailed, name exactly what it is or who it is. Ok – don’t know why I got off on a kick like that, but no apologies for it. There are some good things that have come out of Covid. Yes, some not so good as well, but my focus is on the good. So – happy Friday!

Despite being grateful, we still have loss. Today’s card is one of sympathy and it’s made by a canopy of trees. Yes, this is a NEW 2021-2022 bundle called Inspired Thoughts that includes the Inspiring Canopy Dies. Let’s take a look at the card.

Inspired Thoughts Sympathy – #1

I wanted this to be spring trees in bloom – so imagine that, would you? And that’s a flowering shrub by the sentiment. Imagination is a wonderful thing, isn’t it. I created a bit of sky by using my Blending Brushes on the Basic White panel. I first used Balmy Blue ink, then I moved to Misty Moonlight and that gave me the effect I wanted. These trees are all one die and I die cut them in Soft Suede card stock.. And the leaves/ flowers on the trees are four different dies and I cut several of them. They are from Beauty of the Earth DSP. I’ve left open branches cuz when I look at the trees around us, there are several that have no leaves or flowers. And that’s the way these trees are.

One of the neat aspects of this die set is the trees are connected by a ‘rolling’ ground and included in the set is a curvy die. That is what has created this wonderful rolling green landscape. I used Granny Apple Green card stock to cut two panels. They actually cover the connecting ‘ground’ of the trees cuz that was Soft Suede and I wanted a spring grass – bright and new. Everything is adhered to the card base with liquid glue – I just didn’t flatten the canopy.

The sympathy banner wording is from the stamp set Inspired Thoughts and is stamped on a Basic White panel with Soft Suede ink. I die cut the banner with a Stitched Rectangle Die. This was adhered with dimernsionals at the top of the banner and a dab of liquid glue along the bottom. I added sever Champagne Rhinestones to make it look as though the flowers were being blown off by the wind – and yes, for a bit of glam as well :). This panel was attached to a slightly larger piece of Mossy Meadow card stock with liquid glue. I put dimensionals on the back and attached it to a Thick Basic White card base.

Inspired Thoughts Sympathy, inside – #2

For the inside, I used my Blending Brush again and lightly covered the Basic White panel with just Misty Moonlight ink this time. I stamped the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stamp set in Soft Suede ink. This panel was adhered to Mossy Meadow, then to the inside of the card with liquid glue. And the card was done!

Inspired Thoughts Sympathy – #3

For the envelope i used a stamp set called Etched In Nature. Unfortunately there have been some difficulties with this set and it will not be sold, even though it is in the new catalog. I should not have used it. 😦 There are some other beautiful butterfly stamps – Positive Thoughts is one of them. I used butterflies as they are a symbol of new life, a rebirth. And when we die, there is a rebirth of our souls in another place. That’s what the butterfly signifies for me. It was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.

Most of today’s items to make this card will be available come May 4 for customers. Other items, card stock and the inks used, the rhinestones and Blending Brushes are orderable now. If you do not have a demonstrator and would like a catalog, please contact me… TLsBrightSpot@gmail.com. I’ve made it easy for you to simply ‘add all’ to your cart 🙂 Please use my current HOST CODE 2HWX9GEA that is good Apr 16-30.
