Stampin’ Up AIK April Blog Hop

Today’s card is all about the women in our lives and I have chosen to honor our two daughters today with a special card. Of course they will each receive a card 🙂 I won’t make them share… I’m going to share only one of them with you today 🙂 I used the Simply Succulents Bundle and I haven’t used it much. Since it’s carrying over it’s a perfect time to use it! And I have paired it with one of the new In Colors for the card stock – Soft Succulent. ha… I just realized what I did!

At any rate, today is another Blog Hop with Amy’s Inkin’ Krew. The theme is a woman card or something girlie. Our girls are not ‘girlie, girlie’ so that doesn’t fit – but absolutely women of today. And one of them is a plant fanatic, meaning she loves the outdoors and plants. She has an amazingly beautiful landscape garden/ yard that she has designed herself. I’m just so proud of who she is and who she continues to become. And because of the plants – the Simply Succulent bundle is perfect.

Simply Succulents Bundle – #1

As I mentioned earlier, the card base uses one of the NEW IN COLORS, Soft Succulent – and it’s perfect! What a great shade of green, and I love how it pairs with some of the other greens SU! has in it’s lineup. The ‘top’ is a single die from the Potted Succulents Dies. Just so you know, you CAN cut this apart. I didn’t, as you see, but you can. The sentiment is one one of the banner dies in the set. And of course, I used a sentiment that works not only for our daughter, but is perfect with this die cut. Both are cut from Basic White card stock. The sentiment is stamped with Evening Evergreen ink – anothe4r NEW IN COLOR! And the folded-over ribbon is Open Weave Ribbon that comes in all five NEW IN COLORS. This happens to be Evening Evergreen. I also added some 21-23 In Color Jewels to the sentiment banner, which was adhered with dimensionals over the folded over ribbon. The ribbon is held in place with Seal+ on the back of the sentiment banner.

Simply Succulents Bundle, inside – #2

I love this pot! I’ve stamped it with another NEW IN COLOR, PALE PAPAYA ink, and colored it using the Stampin’ Blends in Pale Papaya. (Yes, stamped on a Basic White panel.) I then stamped two cacti rosettes using the Evening Evergreen ink then colored them in with Mint Macaron and Pale Papaya Stampin Blends. This could use a bit more contrast using a different color than Pale Papaya on the cacti. But it’s done now… The third cacti I stamped on a Basic White scrap, colored it the same way, then die cut it with one of the Potted Succulent Dies. I adhered with 3 mini dimensionals and the inside was done.

Simply Succulents Bundle – #3

For the envelope, I stamped the pots in Pale Papaya ink then colored them with Pale Papaya Stampin Blends. To me, they look like the clay pots we buy in the store :). Notice one of the pots has fallen over. Both are waiting to be used… Notice that when I colored the pots I left a central area uncolored for highlight. It really makes the pot look almost 3D!

I love how this card & envelope turned out. They ‘look’ just like our daughter 😁 ❤️. I think she will appreciate it.

Stampin’ Up! Beauty of Friendship

New products are sometimes a challenge for me – what do I play with first??? I WANT to create with everything right now, and well, that’s just not possible. So, one step (sometimes baby) at a time. This is another card using the Beauty of The Earth DSP and the Beauty of Friendship bundle (includes Beautiful Trees Dies). This DSP stirred my soul, my inner self. I have a thing for trees. I wasn’t sure about this set but… I’m in love with the whole bit! here’s my card.

Beauty of Friendship, Masculine – #1

Isn’t this paper beautiful? And that fun tree image in the center is on the other side of this beautiful shaded green paper – in the Beauty of the Earth DSP. The focal image is adhered to a Bumblebee panel slightly larger and put on dimensionals. I adhered the large sheet of the shaded green DSP to a Mossy Meadow panel, again slightly larger than the DSP. Before adhering it I wrapped Linen Thread around three times and secured to the back with Seal+, then covered that with tape so it didn’t move. I put dimensionals on this large panel and adhered it to the Thick Basic White slimline card. Then the tree panel (with dimensionals on the back) was centered and attached over the Linen Thread. I toyed with putting more ‘stuff’ on the front, sentiment or rhinestones, but I really liked it very simple.

How cute is that little bush and the cardinals? The bush is a die cut from the Beautiful Trees Dies using another one of the papers in the Beauty of the Earth DSP pack. The birds are another die in this set. I ran a Real Red scrap through the Subtle Embossing Folder (retiring May 3) and then die cut them, adhered them to the bush with liquid glue then attached the bush to the inside of the card also with liquid glue.

Beauty of Friendship, Masculine – #3

This envelope was one left over from a pack I bought some time ago and I thought it would look great with this particular card. I covered the flap with more of the same shaded green Beauty of the Earth DSP and then stamped this gorgeous tree in Early Espresso ink, changing the heights of the tree as I stamped. That funny sideways line is from sitting in my drawer and it shows the seam of the envelope – ugh. Despite that I still love this finished project!

Now I want to show you the stamp set and dies of this stunning bundle…

You might remember my post from yesterday – I used this same set (see? I couldn’t stop playing – and this is only the beginning!) Yesterday’s post used the same tree and one of the rectangles for the sentiment panel. I’ll definitely be back sharing more projects with this stunning suite. – It’s called Beauty of the the Earth Suite.

Products for todays project are from the 2020-21 Annual Catalog which ends May 3, and from the new 21-22 Annual Catalog which goes live to customers May 4. Stampin’ Up! Beauty of the Earth DSP

Oh my goodness, some of the Designer Series Papers are so different – and fun. I’m enjoying playing with them. Today’s card really showcases one of the new DSP packs and is a wonderful masculine card – Beauty of the Earth DSP.

Beauty of the Earth DSP – #1

Does this look like watercolor or what?! It’s just stunning. The sentiment on the front of the card AND on the envelope come from a new bundle called Beauty of Friendship, which includes Beautiful Trees Dies. I’ve adhered the DSP to a slightly larger panel of card stock, Misty Moonlight. I wrapped the Misty Moonlight ribbon (which will be retiring soon BTW) around and tied a knot. I then stamped the sentiment from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink on a Basic White scrap and die cut it with one of the dies from the Beautiful Trees Dies. I put dimensionals on the back and adhered it over the ribbon. I put dimensionals on the back of the larger panel and adhered it to a Basic White Thick card stock base. Voila – the card front is done.

Beauty of the Earth DSP, inside – #2

This is a beautiful tree outline that is part of the stamp set Beauty of Friendship and I have stamped it in Crumb Cake ink. I have also added a thin strip of the Beauty of the Earth DSP to the Basic White panel. This was adhered to a slightly larger panel of Misty Moonlight card stock and the card was complete! It is simple, it is beautiful and it is masculine.

Beauty of the Earth DSP – #3

For the envelope I adhered a panel of the same Beauty of the Earth DSP to the envelope flap and trimmed it to fit. I stamped the single word ‘Hello’ in Misty Moonlight ink from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set and the card is ready to go. This can so easily be a card of encouragement.

Products for today’s card are mostly from the upcoming 21-22 Annual Catalog – to get you excited about what’s to come. I will be offering a paper share this time around and will have that information available in tomorrow’s post. I can’t wait for you to see them in person!

Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Garden & Dandy Wishes Memories & More

Oh the Dandy Wishes Memories & More cards & envelopes are just really, really nice. And of course retiring May 3. They are a larger size and really easy. I haver chosen to add Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP for additional colors & layers and have included a new fun die called Tailor Made Tags Dies.

Dragonfly Garden & Dandy Wishes Memories & More – #1

As you can see I added two background papers from the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP, then this sweet tag. I stamped a panel of Basic White card stock with this fun bouquet from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Memento Black ink. I then colored some of the leavers & flowers with Watercolor Pencils: Garden Green, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry. I die cut it with the new Tailor Made Tags Dies and added a Magenta Madness ribbon tied with linen thread. I popped this on the two layers with dimensionals and the card front was complete.

For the inside i added another of the Dandy Garden 6×6 DSP. Then on a Basic White panel, I stamped the sentiment from Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Memento Black ink. I then stamped the dragonfly clusters also in Memento Black ink then took my Rich Razzleberrry Watercolor Pencil and colored some of the dragonflies. I used my Blending Brush to smooth the lines, adhered the panel to the inside and voila – done & dusted as they say.

Dragonfly Garden & Dandy Garden Memories & More – #3

No need to decorate the envelope as it’s done for us! You could color it but I chose not to.

Products for todays card may be found in the list below. I’ve made it easy for you to simply ‘add all to cart’. Stampin’ Up! Birthday w/ True Love DSP

Spring is generally a riot of color with flowers from every corner of the world. Today I chose to use True Love DSP from the Jan-Jun Mini Catalog – cuz it’s beautiful and I had a piece already colored on my table :)… sly fox that I am. This was a leftover piece from a previous project and I was determined to use it. The flowers were colored mostly in Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends with a bit of Gorgeous Grape for shadows now & then. The leaves were colored with Old Olive and Garden Green Stampin’ Blends. The centers got touches of Daffodil Delight. This began as a 3″ square and I cut it in equal portions in both directions, then mounted it on a piece of So Saffron Card stock with liquid glue. I wrapped the White Crinkled Seam Binding around and tied a bow, which I secured with a glue dot. I put dimensional on the back and added this to a Basic Black panel.

    Birthday w/ True Love DSP – #1

My card base is a Basic White Thick card stock with the front covered in Subtles 6×6 DSP from the 21-22 Annual Catalog. I adhered the square panel with liquid glue to the front of the card. For the sentiment I used the Peaceful Moments stamp set stamped on a Basic White scrap in Memento Black ink and die cut it with one of the All Dressed Up dies. I put dimensionals on the back andf added it to the front of the card. My final touch was the beautiful Pastel Pearl ~ and the card front was done.

    Birthday – #2

For the inside of the card, I stamped another sentiment from the Peaceefgul Moments stamp set in Memento Black ink on a panel of Basic White card stock. I adhered this to a slightly larger panel of So Saffron card stock then into the card ~ and the card was complete.

    Birthday w/ True Love DSP – #3

For the envelope I used the same pattern from the Subtles 6×6 DSP from the 21-22 Annual catalog and adhered it to the envelope flap. I did no further decorating on the envelope.

Take a look at the retiring products ands pick up some really good deals. If I can help you in any way to order these items, or others, please give me a holler. Stampin’ Up! Quiet Moments Part 2

OK – same stamp set, same dies, how can this card be so different? I couldn’t help it – these dies just called to me. I truly don’t know how SU! does it – keep coming up with new products all the time. But that’s the power of creativity and different minds working together, right? And these dies are all about flowers and nature and I’m that kind of girl. So here we go…

    Quiet Meadow Part 2 – #1

I’ve talked before about how much I appreciate monochromatic cards, and this is pretty similar – just a hint of color. The color comes from using a retiring product called Natural Touch Specialty Paper. It has a wood grain and a bit of a velvetty soft feel to it. And I added the very cute Bumblebee Trinket that is new in the 21-22 Annual Catalog. The sentiment comes from Quiet Meadow stamp set and is such a versatile one that this card could be used for sympathy or after surgery or get well or just plain ‘thinking of you’ kind of card. And I introduced one of the new In Colors, Evening Evergreen by inking the sentiment. The breakdown for this card:

    • Basic White Thick card stock for the base 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
    • Natural Touch Specialty Paper 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 (2, one for inside) + envelope flap + scraps for die cuts
    • Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 (2, one for inside) + scraps for die cuts

The flowers were adhered with liquid glue; the flower center the same; the Bumblebee trinket with a glue dot – all on a Basic White panel 4 x 5 1/4. This was adhered to the Natural Touch Specialty Paper with Stampin’ Seal, which then got dimensionals to adhere it to the card base.

    Quiet Meadow Part 2, inside – #2

For the inside I used two Whimsy Dies to create this fun pattern on a Basic White panel – doesn’t it make it look as though the butterfly has flown everywhere? The butterfly also comes from the Meadow Dies and was adhered with liquid glue. Basic White panel to the Natural Touch Specialty Paper then into the inside of the card – done!

    Quiet Meadow Part 2 – #3

For the envelope, another fun butterfly from Meadow Dies out of the Natural Touch Specialty Paper and more of the same paper on the envelope flap. FINIS! Love the simplicity and the finished look.

The Quiet Meadow Bundle will be available for customers to order as of May 4, as will be the fun Butterfly Trinkets and Evening Evergreen ink. In the meantime, take a look at the retiring products ands pick up some really good deals. If I can help you in any way to order these items, or others, please give me a holler. As a thank you to my customers, when the order is between $50-$150 I offer a SU! item of your choice valued at $10. Remember to use MY CURRENT HOST CODE – 63SXY3X6– good April 1- 15 . Stampin’ Up! Quiet Meadow

OMGoodness – new SU! products… are… a… dream… Today’s card uses the beautiful Quiet Meadow Bundle and Hand-Penned DSP + new 21-23 In Color Pale Papaya and some gorgeous Genial Gems ~ yes, all these from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. As a demonstrator, we are able to order certain products as a pre-order to use, create & stimulate, and this was the first I pulled from my box to use. The dies in this bundle are just stunning and I can already tell I will be getting out my watercolor paper to play. Here is today’s card…

    Quiet Meadows Bundle – #1

Isn’t that flower bouquet sweet? After stamping in Memento ink on a Basic White panel, I colored the leaves lightly with watercolor pencil (Garden Green) and then the flowers with the Pale Papaya Stampin Blends. This is such a soft look and I really like the contrasting colors. I added three Genial Gems to the panel. How about that DSP!!! Here’s a peek at the pack: Hand-Penned DSP…

I’m realizing not all of the papers actually show in these photos, but you can see how wonderful they are. Back to the card: the DSP and Pale Papaya card stock were both cut at 3 3/4 x 5 and adhered together with liquid glue, then to the front of the card (Pool Party card stock 5 1/2 x is 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4). I added the stamped panel also with liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment in Memento ink on one of the Hand-Penned DSP and die cut it with a die from the Meadow Dies. I adhered it with dimensionals and the card front was done.

    Quiet Meadow Bundle – #2

For the inside, I first stamped the splotches using the new In Color Pale Papaya ink on a Basic White panel then adhered one of the wonderful die cuts with liquid glue. This die cut was cut from the new Subtles 6×6 DSP pack so it has some variation of color. I adhered this panel to a slightly larger piece of Pale Papaya card stock then to the inside of the card and voila – the card is done.

    Quiet Meadow Bundle – #3

For the envelope I adhered one of the papers from the Hand-Penned DSP to the envelope flap and trimmed it to fit. I then stamped this sweet flower from Quiet Moments stamp set in Memento ink and colored it with the Pale Papaya Stampin Blends and the set was done… This is just so bright and fresh and yet very soothing as the colors are soft. I hope you like the inspiration.

Stampin’ Up! Fun Fold w/ Forever Fern

It’s Tuesday – woohoo… and the weather is warming: hostas are rising from their sleep as are other perennials. Love this time of year! Late yesterday my preorder arrived, so I’m hoping to provide a glimpse later of some of the goodies in my Stampin’ Up package. For now however, we’ll take a look at the card I created for today – and it’s another triple-fold, but totally different from yesterday.

    Fun Fold w/ Forever Fern – #1

The Forever Greenery DSP and the Forever Gold Laser-Cut SDSP really show off in this fold. Here it is open wide.

    Fun Fold w/ Forever Fern – #2

See how this paper shows off? The color contrasts are wonderful. It begins with a card base of Pretty Peacock 5 1/2 x 11 scored at 1 1/4, 4 and 6 3/4. Fold in valley, mountain, valley and burnish creases; decorate each fold; create belly band 1 x 11 and decorate. Easy, easy… I don’t like this one quite as much as yesterdays fold – just sayin’. It is a good way to show off the DSP however. 🙂 And this is a pretty general card – can be used asx a simply – hey, thinking of you kind of card ~ and it’s nice to have those in your stash. For that basic White panel, since it’s narrow, I simply stamped a leaf from the Forever Fern stamp set in Old Olive ink, then stamped the sentiment on a Basic White 5/8″ wide strip in Shaded Spruce ink and trimmed the end with the Banner Pick a Punch and adhered it over a part of the leaf with liquid glue. This was adhered with liquid glue as shown.

    Card cuts:

    • on the 1 1/4 wide fold, adhere a different panel of DSP on both front & back: 1 x 5 1/4
    • next panel adhere a DSP 2 1/2 x 5 1/4
    • next panel is the Basic White 2 1/2 x 5 1/4
    • last or widest panel is 4 x 5 1/4
    • Belly Band is 1 x 11 folded around the closed card not too tightly and ends adhered with liquid glue. I decorated this by adhering a Forever Gold Laser-Cut SDSP so it centered on the front, then punched a 2″ circle out of Basic White card stock and stamped the sentiment (from Forever Fern stamp set) in Shaded Spruce ink. I adhered this over the gold of the circle with dimensionals and added three Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a bit of pizzazz.

For the envelope, I adhered more Forever Greenery DSP to the flap and trimmed to fit, then stamped a fun leaf from Forever Fern stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink. DONE!

Stampin’ Up! Boho Indigo Product Medley

While I await my SU!n delivery (TODAY!) I’m playing with one of my favorites from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog ~ the Boho Indigo Product Medley. This is retiring and I’m so disappointed I haven’t played with it more. I think I kept saving it 😦 The medley remains at full price but the refill kit is only $13 and change! This set is just so stunning: stamps, dies, stickers, flowers, labels and 6×6 DSP. What I have made with this set today is a triple-fold birthday card. Let’s look.

    Boho Indigo Triple-Fold Birthday – #1

Gorgeous, gorgeous papers in this 6×6… and you see several of them here. So this is a fun fold and it just is so neat… here’s a photo with the belly band removed.

    Boho Indigo Triple-Fold Birthday – #2

    Steps:

    • 5 1/2 x 11 card base scored at 1 3/4, 5 1/2, 9 3/4 (this is Night of Navy)
    • Fold on the 5 1/2 score line, then fold to the left the other two flaps & burnish all score lines.
    • Create belly band 1 x 11, fold around and adhere the overlap, making certain it is not too snug.
    • Decorate! This is the fun part ‘cuz you are unlimited!

Just creating the folds leaves all kinds of possibilities for what to do next, but here’s what i’ve done. I used one of the Very Vanilla embossed pieces in the 6×6 DSP pack and adhered it to the front of the card with liquid glue. I went ahead and decorated it at this point: die cut a vase with one of the Boho Indigo dies. I put dimensionals on the back and adhered it so it would show when the front flap was closed. I adhered the big palm fronds with liquid glue, then the other larger leaf with liquid glue on the lower stem and a dimensional on the upper part of the frond. I added a gold flower sticker also with dimensionals and that part was done. Next I added all the cut strips with liquid glue (card cuts are at the bottom of this post). My last step was the Very Vanilla panel for the inside.

    Boho Indigo Triple-Fold Birthday – #3

I stamped the vase on the Very Vanilla panel with Night of Navy ink. I stamped the leaves in Garden Green ink and wished I had done something brighter. I stamped the sentiment in Crumb Cake ink – and this sentiment comes from Hand-Drawn Blooms stamp set (and it is carrying over :O) For a final touch I added three paper flowers from the Boho Indigo Product Medley, with glue dots. I then adhered the Very Vanilla panel into the card. The last bit was to take one of the banners from the medley and add a sentiment to it… also from the Hand-Drawn Blooms stamp set and in Crumb Cake ink. I adhered it with Stampin’ Seal and the card was done. Oh my goodness, so easy peasy!

To decorate the belly band I simply used one of the banner labels in the product medley, stamped a sentiment on it from the Boho Indigo stamp set in Night of navy ink. I adhered it to the belly band with liquid glue. The last bit was to put a panel of the 6×6 DSP from this product medley on the envelope flap and the card was ready. WOW! OH MY – I just may crank out a bunch of these – sympathy, thank you, masculine (well, masculine might need to be with other Designer Series Papers.) At any rate, I encourage you to give this fun fold a try..

Can’t wait for my new 2021-2022 goodies to arrive later today!!! eeeek. As a demonstrator we have the opportunity to purchase a limited number of items from the new catalog – and I DID… eeeek. I’ll share some photos of items later – kinda depends when it arrives. Our deliveries are usually pretty late in the day.
