SU! Wonder of the Season Memories and More Cards/ Envelopes

It’s a new day – AND a new week… let’s make them awesome… make a phone call you have intended to do for a long time but haven’t ; send a card to someone whom you think needs a ‘pick me up’; do a good deed without needing/ wanting recognition. Those are just some ‘off the cuff’ suggestions – you can probably come up with some of your own as well.

Todays cards were made using the Wonders of the Season Memories and More Card Pack + the coordinating Cards & Envelopes. There are two sizes cards in this pack: approx. 3 x 4 & 4 x 6. Also in the pack are several peel & stick stickers/ numbers that can be used for embellishing. More info can be found in the Aug-Dec Mini Catalog on pg 31.

For my first card I chose this gorgeous Just Jade 3 x 4 panel and one of the stickers with the word ‘Joy’. I peeled it off carefully and put it directly onto the panel, trying to center it as best I could. I then adhered it to a piece of Gray Granite cs with liquid glue. I pulled out my Pearls Basic Jewels and put several all over the panel. I adhered dimensionals to the back and adhered this to Whisper White, then another piece of Gray Granite. This toon got dimesnionals and was placed onto the Just Jade card base. And voila – the card front was complete.

Wonder of the Season Memories & More Card
#1

For the inside I adhered a panel of Whisper White then added one of the stickers that coordinates with the leaf pattern on the front. Done!

Inside card #1

Card #2 – this card uses one of the larger panels… I love the feathers and the gold. I adhered this green panel to a Brushed Metallic (gold), then directly onto the Wonder of the Season Memories & More card base. I die cut several feathers from the Brushed Metallic (gold) cs, cuz I didn’t know how many I wanted to use :O) The feather comes from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies. I then took a scrap of Whisper White and cut this beautiful banner using the Snow Time Dies. Notice how the banner has this wonderful raised edge all around it? It’s beautiful!! From another piece of Whisper White I die cut the word Peace, using two elements of the word from the Joy Dies. I adhered these together using liquid glue then onto the banner, also with liquid glue. The banner got dimensionals and was mounted in the center of the card. The single feather was added with liquid glue. DONE!

Card #3 – I began by cutting the green panel from the card pack apart, saving the trims for another use later. The center panel was adhered to a strip of the Brushed Metallic (gold) cs. . I added several Wonderful Gems for a bit of glitz. I cut a panel of the Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP and adhered it to one of the Wonder of the Season Memories & More cards. The green panel got dimensionals and went right in the center of the card. Done again!

Just like that, three Christmas cards ready for my stash. Each is so different and well, wonderful, in it’s own right. Card cuts are listed at the bottom of this post.

SU! Tree Angle/ Stitched Triangles

Hello again! Oh I can’t wait to show today’s card… I pulled out a new bundle I hadn’t played with yet – yes, there are still  a few.. This card is simple and I’m anxious to use some other papers to create something similar.

Stitched Triangles
#1

And here are the details… I die cut Whisper White cs with the largest of the right triangles and used that panel as the front of my card. Those Whisper White die cuts I used to reinforce the Heartwarming Hugs DSP by adhering with liquid glue when I die cut it with the same large right triangle. Next I stamped the sentiment from Wrapped in Christmas stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink. I then adhered the Whisper White panel to a Pear Pizzazz piece with liquid glue, then onto the front of the Real Red cs. I then took the reinforced triangles and put several dimensionals on the back and adhered them right over the openings of the Whisper White Panel. A little glitz was needed (I like glitz!) so I added several Wonderful Gems in Real Red. Front is complete!

For the inside… I adhered a panel of Pear Pizzazz cs to the Real Red card base with liquid glue. I then stamped the ornaments from the Tree Angle stamp set in Real Red ink, stamping off at least once. This Whisper White panel was adhered to the Pear Pizzazz and the card was DONE…

Tree Angle stamp set, inside
#2

For the envelope I stamped the same ornament trio from Tree Angle stamp set in Real Red ink (stamping off at least once) across the bottom of the envelope front. The flap got another piece of the same Heartwarming Hugs DSP. Such simplicity and such elegance… and so easy, I love it…

SU! So Much Happy/ Warm Hugs

Hi Everyone – gosh it is a gorgeous day today… cooler than it has been with a light breeze… this is easy to take. Remember my S-I-L who shattered his elbow? (He’s progressing very well BTW) His birthday was yesterday and I created a fun little gift bag for him using the Warm Hugs bundle, So Much Happy bundle and the Celebration Labels Dies. Let’s take a look at the final product…

Warm Hugs/ So Much Happy gift
#1

He’s a bit of a coffee person and this set just jumped out at me as a perfect little gift for him. He also loves peanut M & Ms – so…. the Heartwarming Hugs Suite is just right. It can be found on pg 8-10 in the Aug- Dec 2020 Mini catalog.

I began by putting the Mini Coffee Carrier together – just unfold and crease… no glue, nothing. But then I decided to fancy it up a bit. I covered the base with some of the Heartwarming Hugs DSP. Then I took a strip of In Good Taste DSP and adhered that over it with liquid glue. I also added a length of Early Espresso 1/4″ Faux Suede Ribbon with Tear ‘n Tape, then included a bow with a glue dot. I did the same on the back side without including the bow.

Next I took the Warm Wraps Dies and die cut the various pieces to create a trim around the Mini Coffee Cup. I used the same In Good Taste DSP for the large pieces, then the scallops were die cut from Soft Suede cs. I put these together with liquid glue then slid it onto the cup. Once I had the wrap where I wanted it I slid it down just a bit and drizzled in a bit of liquid glue and slid the wrap back into place again. This keeps it from falling off :O)

Then I did the tag for the cup… circle is die cut from Soft Suede cs, the hexagon in Whisper White. Before die cutting the hexagon, I stamped the the sentiment in Crumb Cake, then the hexagon stamp in Soft Suede. TIP: I had stamped these in reverse order and didn’t get the sentiment centered correctly in the hexagon, disappointment! There a redo…The hexagon is more open and therefore you can see better to center it over the circle sentiment. easy peasy… Die cut the stamped hexagon and affix it to the Soft Suede circle with dimensionals. This then was adhered to the cup also with dimensionals. And bingo the cup was ready. I filled a Gusseted Cellophane Bag with the peanut M & Ms and tied it with Real Red 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim and put it in the other part of the coffee carrier. Cute, right? I then created another tag, this time the circle was die cut in Mossy Meadow cs. Before die cutting the hexagon, I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink and the hexagon stamp in Mossy Meadow ink. It was then attached to the coffee carrier with dimesnionals.

I put all of this (plus the coffee beans) in a Stampin’ Up! cello bag that I had in my stash as a demonstrator. And of course it needed a large something to hold it together…. out came the Celebration Labels Dies  – so perfect! I first cut one in the same In Good Taste DSP then another in Soft Suede cs. I then took the Happy Dies and die cut the word HAPPY from the In Good Taste label. Next I stamped the word birthday from the So Much Happy stamp set in Soft Suede ink. This panel was adhered onto the Soft Suede label and it clearly shows through just as I wanted – yay! Then I stapled it all together over the cello bag. Voila! And by the way – he loved it!!!

SU! Gnome for the Holidays

Hello again – it’s Monday… did you have a good weekend? And your plans for the week? This has become kind of a busy one for me, in comparison to all the seclusion/ quaranteen stuff.- two meetings IN PERSON no less… We wear masks, sit 6-8′ apart, it’s good. So – today’s card… I broke out a new stamp set – Gnome for the Holidays – they are so stinkin’ c-u-t-e! And oh yeah, got my new Cut & Emboss machine, which I love…. Works like a charm; smooth crankin’ both for cutting AND embossing – and I did both for today’s card. OK OK, I hear you – on with it already :O)

Gnome for the Holidays #1

Didn’t I tell you they were cute? I stamped them in Memento Black ink on Whisper White cs then colored them all with Blends:

  • the girl: both Lt and Dk Call Me Clover, Poppy Parade, Dk Highland Heather, So Saffron and dk Crumb Cake
  • for the center gnome: Lt Seaside Spray Lt & Dk Highland Heather, So Saffron, Lt & Dk Smokey Slate and Dk Crumb Cake
  • gnome on right: Lt & dk Call Me Clover, Poppy Parade, Lt & Dk Crumb Cake, Dk Highland Heather, So Saffron
  • I colored each of their noses with just a bit of Lt Petal Pink

I cut them down to size and adhered them with liquid glue to Highland Heather cs that had been die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Next I cut a panel of Gorgeous Grape cs & ran it through the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder. I adhered the gnome panels to it with dimensionals. I took a Thick Whisper White card base and ran the front through the Winter Snow embossing folder – loving all this texture from the embossing! I adhered the Gorgeous Grape piece to the card front with liquid glue.

Next I stamped the sentiment (don’t you love this cute font!) from the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set in Garden Green ink on a Whisper White strip. I created a banner at the end and adhered it to a Highland Heather strip that also had a banner. I adhered this with dimensionals to the card front and Voila – card front is complete!

Gnome for the Holidays #2

So fun… now for the inside… Adhere a panel of Gorgeous grape with liquid glue. With a Whisper White panel stamp the sentiment in Garden Green ink (it’s from Gnome for the Holidays stamp set). Then stamp the tree from the Merry Moose stamp set in twice stamped off Garden Green ink. Adherer over the Gorgeous Grape and your card is fait accompl!

Gnome for the Holidays inside

For the envelope I embossed the flap with the Winter Snow embossing folder then stamped the gnome in Memento ink. I colored him with the Blends as noted above. TIP: slip a scrap of card stock into your envelope before coloring so the ink doesn’t bleed through the envelope!

Gnome for the Holidays #4

Fun fun… I’m labeling this a masculine card ‘cuz I think it could be :o) I hope you have enjoyed today’s card. I had such fun coloring and creating. SU! Autumn Greetings Bundle

The other day I participated in a blog hop and the theme was Fall Frenzy – cute name for our theme! I was ‘on a roll’ and made another fall-themed card – here ’tis…

Autumn Greetings Bundle

It is made using the Autumn Greetings stamp set with coordinating dies, Autumn Essential Dies. Aren’t these wheat stalks perfect? And the pumpkins…. Here’s the deets:

Begin with Thick Very Vanilla for your card base; add a layer of Cajun Craze cs with liquid glue. Die cut several wheat fronds with the Autumn Essential Dies out of Crumb Cake cs and sponge dauber them with either Crumb Cake or Cajun Craze inks. Die cut the pumpkins: for the larger one I used Mango Melody cs for the outline die and Pumpkin Pie cs for the detail die; for the smaller I used Pumpkin Pie cs for the outline and Cajun Craze cs for the detail. Once I glued the detail die cut to the outline die cuts with liquid glue, I used a sponge dauber and sponged them with Crumb Cake ink to give them that aged look, as if they have just come from the pumpkin patch. 🙂  I also die cut a circle from Cajun Craze and another from Early Espresso. The Early Espresso piece I ran through the Forever Greenery embossing folder for some added texture.

Autumn Greetings Bundle

Now to begin the layering… Adhere a strip of Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP to a strip of Cajun Craze and adhere to regular Very Vanilla panel with liquid glue. Adhere the circles with liquid glue to this strip.  Stamp the sentiment from the Autumn Greetings stamp set in Cajun Craze ink. Don’t you love this font? So fresh! Adhere the wheat fronds with liquid glue. I then took a short length of Braided Linen Thread and gently stretched it, pulling the threads almost apart. I attached this with a dab of liquid glue and placed the larger pumpkin over it that had dimensionals on the back. The smaller pumpkin also got dimesnionals. For the final touch I added several fun Artistry Blooms Adhesive- Backed Sequins.

Fun, fun… love all the texture and layers. And this can so easily be a masculine card if you need it to be. I often find it difficult to create a masculine card and I think this one fits that masculine category.

SU! Warm Hugs Bundle

It’s Monday – and a glorious day! I’m thankful for so much… and one of those I have the opportunity to play with some amazing SU! products. What I did prior to SU! was just muddle around in mediocre stuff. Once I found SU!, there was no turning back. All products are made well; products coordinate. I can’t say enough. So if you are ‘on the fence’, jump in. I’ll help you navigate and create – we could make a great team. Contact me at tlsbrightspot@gmail.com and let’s talk about how to make this happen.

For today’s card I pulled out a stamp set I haven’t used before – yep – from the amazing Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog. It’s called the Warm Hugs Bundle and is actually part of a suite of products that can be found on pages 8-11. I used many of the products from the suite but incorporated some other items as well.

Warm Hugs Bundle #1

I started with a Crumb Cake card base. Then took a panel of Mossy Meadow cs and ran it through the Wrapped in Texture embossing folder twice. This embossing folder is narrow, and probably is not meant to emboss a card front, but I did and think it turned out really well. I took a strip of Heartwarming Hugs DSP cut a banner at the bottom and adhered it with liquid glue to the card front. I took another very narrow strip of this same DSP, cut a side angle at the bottom and slipped it under the right of the banner. Next I took the Mossy Meadow Diagonal Stripe ribbon and wrapped it back and forth on the card front, adhering in various places with Stampin Seal. The sentiment was extra fun and easy to create using the Warm Wraps Dies and the Warm Hugs stamp set. Don’t you love this hexagonal look?

Stamp the sentiment in Real Red ink on a Whisper White scrap. The sentiment comes from the Wrapped in Christmas stamp set which is part of the Heartwarming Hugs Suite of products. Stamp the hexagonal decoration around it in Mossy Meadow ink and die cut with the Warm Wraps Dies. Put dimensionals on it and adhere to a circle cut from Pear Pizzazz cs. That circle also is in this die set. The Pear Pizzazz also got dimensionals and was adhered over the Diagonal Stripe Ribbon.  Since the card front is complete, let’s move to the inside.

Warm Hugs #2

So, so simple but I love how the inside coordinates with the outside… another strip of DSP adhered to Whisper White panel. This was adhered to Mossy Meadow and attached to the Crumb Cake card base. And voila, your card is complete!

Warm Hugs Bundle #3

For the envelope I stamped a fun little cup in Mossy Meadow, then the steam rising from the cup in Crumb cake. The envelope flap got the same Heartwarming Hugs DSP as the card front. Fait accompli! While this card is done in Holiday-type colors, it could so easily be used as a card of encouragement or a birthday card, and it’s a bit masculine too.

SU! Yuletide Pasture Slimline Card

Oh what fun …I loved making this card… it’s..um.. different. Who would have thought I would like this stamp set so much. (Yuletide Pasture).. but once I started, well, it struck my fancy 🙂 I’ll be honest, I don’t know what this beast is called – maybe an ox? But it has this undisturbed look, with ornaments from its horns. I mean, what NOT to like! So here we go…

The card base is Crumb Cake and it’s a slimline card, so l-o-n-g. And this hairy ox is stamped in Soft Suede, just lying there, with ornaments on its horn on a Whisper White piece. I then took the fine tip water painter and brushed it across the ‘hair’ of the animal to give it some color, but not too much. I did the same to the antlers. Then I colored the ornaments with various shades of blue Blends and added a stripe of Just Jade on each one. The Blends used.. Night of Navy, Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight. The beast looked incomplete so I added a bow using Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack, specifically the Misty Moonlight/ Silver Bakers Twine. I completed the bells by adding the sparkle of Wink of Stella.I put dimensionals on the back and set it aside.

For the layering on the card front… Pacific Point and the lovely Snowflake Splendor DSP. The banners are again Pacific Point and Crumb Cake with the sentiment stamped in Soft Suede. I used the Banner Pick A Punch for the ends. 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots completed the look for the banner. Once these were placed where I wanted them, I added the ox panel with dimesnionals.

Yuletide Pasture #1

The inside is another adorable beast stamped in Soft Suede on the Whisper White panel , then the fine- tip water painter was used to add color and depth. The neckband/ bells uses Blends in… Poppy Parade, Call Me Clover and Mango Melody. I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede as well. The Whisper White panel was adhered to Pacific Point with liquid glue and that in turn added to the Crumb Cake Card base, again with liquid glue. Voila – fait accompli’. I love this simple card and hope you do as well.

Yuletide Pasture #2

This wonderfully fun stamp set can be found in the Aug-Dec 2020 Min Catalog on pg 28. Here’s a link to the cattie to help you find everything.

SU! Tasteful Touches

Hi Everyone – I tried something new for me today – does that surprise anyone? Maybe we shouldn’t go there… I saw a video by Kylie Bertucci, a very creative demonstrator from Australia and had to her ideas a ‘go’. Here’s the completed card…

Tasteful Touchers – Feather
#1

Can you see the sparkly on the background? It’s sprinkled embossing powder! This is done on Basic Gray cs and I love the look. So here’s what I did… First, swipe the card stock with your embossing buddy to remove static and create a ‘clean’ surface. I tapped the Versamark ink pad around the perimeter of the card stock – no need to do the center since it was to be covered. Then I sprinkled the silver embossing powder with my fingers, keeping the powder light and not clumping or globbing – then I heat set it. Fun look. Yes, I SHOULD HAVE taken a picture at that stage – but didn’t really think about it until just now 😳 well – silly me…

The rest of this card is so very simple: using the feather image from the  Tasteful Touches stamp set, stamp randomly in stamped off once Basic Gray ink on Whisper White card stock. I then took a sponge dauber and Gorgeous Grape and did very light sponging on the feathers. I love this color and it gives the feathers a totally different look. This was mounted on Gorgeous Grape card stock with liquid glue. I wrapped a length of the Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding around these two pieces and tied a knot. I put dimensionals on the back and mounted it on the silver sprinkled, heat embossed panel of Basic Gray. This then was adhered to a panel of Whisper White with liquid glue. This was adhered to the Basic Gray card base. As the final step, I took a 5/8″ strip of Basic Gray, rubbed it with the embossing buddy then stamped the sentiment from the In The Pines stamp set in Versamark. I sprinkled it with silver embossing powder then heat set it. The final length is about 2″. This strip got dimensionals and was placed over the ribbon.

The inside is even simpler yet – a single stamped feather in several times stamped off Basic Gray ink on a Whisper White panel. This was mounted directly to the card base with liquid glue.

Tasteful Touches – inside
#2

I started the main panel with the feathers as a larger piece. Once I cut it down to the size I wanted I saved the strips and adhered one of those to the envelope front. And that was it – the card was complete. This could so easily be a masculine card. It IS however, going to a young woman who is battling cancer – and loves purple. It will be gone by the time you read this post.

SU! Love of Leaves Bundle

Fall is such a great time of year… and this card says ‘Fall’ all over it. This stamp/ die set is just so lovely – can be used for masculine cards for sure, which I sometimes have a hard time making. But this was so easy peasy and I love how it turned out.

Love of Leaves bundle #1

I kept the look really simple and clean, using the Stitched Leaves Dies as the main focus. Aren’t they stunning? What I especially like about them is the way they have a stitched border around the leaf die cut and the leaf embossing with another die. With one roll through that die cutting machine  I was able to cut the square with the Square Dies AND one set of leaves in Very Vanilla cs! The border color is one of the new In Colors – Cinnamon Cider – a gorgeous shade of golden brown. That was cut with a Square Scalloped Die. The rectangle for the largest leaf was die cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies, again in Very Vanilla.

I adhered the Very Vanilla square with the leaf ‘hole’ to the Cinnamon Cider with liquid glue. The leaf itself I adhered with dimensionals. I set those aside While I worked on the Very Vanilla background. First I located where the leaf squares would be, then laid the sentiment from Love Of Leaves stamp set in place. I moved the squares off the piece and stamped the sentiment in Cinnamon Cider ink. Then I ran it through the Tasteful Textures. embossing folder. This panel I adhered to a piece of Cinnamon Cider. I laid the leaf dies back on the textured Very Vanilla panel, glued on the squares and the rectangle with liquid glue. Then in the opening, I placed the leaves which had dimensionals on the back.

I put dimesionals on the back of the Cinnamon Cider panel and adhered to a Thick Very Vanilla card base.

Love of Leaves bundle
#2

For the inside i stamped another leaf from the Love of Leaves stamp set, stamping off twice, onto Very Vanilla cs in Cinnamon Cider. I then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in full strength in Cinnamon Cider. I should probably stamped the sentiment again ass the word ‘changes’ gets a bit lost in the leaf.. ugh.

Love of Leaves bundle #3

Using yet another leaf from the Love of Leaves stamp set, I stamped both the envelope flap and the front as well – in Cinnamon Cider.

This bundle can be found in the new Aug-Dec Mini 2020 catalog that goes live to customers Tue Aug 4. And when purchased as a bundle in lieu of individually, you save 10% I strongly encourage you to. put this on your wish list.

When I create a card like this, I do one portion at a time – one Z fold, then the other. You can cut everything and lay it out for efficiency, but I was still working out sizes for the smaller Z. Crumb Cake is the base of the card, layer the Early espresso for all three sections of the larger Z, then layer the World of Good Specialty DSP for the three sections. For the smaller Z, Crumb Cake cs was used for the card base layer, then Early Espresso cs for the first (or front) and last (or back) layers, then DSP on the first and Whisper White for the last (for sentiment). For the front layer, the DSP was run through the Old World Paper 3 D embossing folder. Gosh that embossing folder is amazing… You can see it very clearly in this photo.

I don’t adhere the Whisper White panel until I have the sentiment or design on cuz – you know, mistakes happen… lol. The turtle was stamped in Early Espresso ink. Then I took my Wink of Stella and colored in the shell only. This moved the ink around a bit and gave it some variety. Then I stamped the sentiment in Crumb Cake ink.

Now that both Z folds are created I put them together… I lay the small one on to get an idea where it should sit on the larger Z. When the card is closed, we don’t want to see the last panel of the small Z at all. Once I have seen how it fits, I adhere the back panel first, then the front and it creates this wonderful Z. Take a peek at this photo from the top of the card.

That cute giraffe was stamped on Whisper White in Crumb Cake ink. I used the light Crumb Cake Blends to color in the spots very lightly, then covered the giraffe in Wink of Stella. Again, this moves the ink around a bit and colors the giraffe lightly. The giraffe was adhered with dimensionals. I then stamped the word OUCH! on a 1/2″ wide length of Whisper White in Early Espresso and cut the ends with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. I added three 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots and attached with liquid glue.

The envelope flap was covered in the World of Good SDSP and then stamped on the front with the word SIGH… several times since this is such a long recovery. The card is complete and guess what – mine is already in the mail as we speak. How fast is that for a turn-around?
