Stampin’ Up! Kraft Note Cards

Good morning! Here we are at the end of another week – whoa, it’s going by so quickly. I’ve had trouble with my computer for too many days now. All of a sudden everything started working again… I am shocked but pleased as punch! Photos are coming through – in other words, being synched to my computer – amazing! I’ll keep my finger crossed :O)

In my most recent card class we have been playing with the Kraft Note Cards which come as a set of 20 note cards & envelopes plus a box that is ready to put together. We have also been using the Abundant Beauty Masks to create the cards and decorate the box. And each persons personality is coming through in their own way. Today I’ll share photos of my box.

In the first photo you can see the many layers of the Abundant Beauty floral mask. I used five layers, each colored with Blending Brushes & Crushed Curry for an overall color, then Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and maybe even some Real Red. It’s multi layered just as most flowers are not one solid color. The flower centers are Crushed Curry followed by soft Early Espresso – all using Blending Brushes. The second photo shows that I added Wink of Stella to many of the petals for a bit of bling. To color the larger leaves that are part of the mask, I used Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock for shading the tips of the leaves – of course with Blending Brushes. The additional leaves were stamped in those same two colors and Layering Leaves stamp set and the coordinating Leaves Punch. The bow was made with Copper Ribbon from the Burlap & Ribbon Combo Pack, plus a bit of Linen Thread. It’s adhered with a couple of glue dots.

This floral display sits on two die cuts of Designer Series Papers using the Countryside Corners Dies. The larger panel is die cut from Masterfully Made DSP and the top layer is Winter Meadow DSP. These two were adhered together with dimensionals then attached to the belly band with Tear ‘n Tape. The belly band is 2 1/2″ wide x 12 and is cut from Tartan Foil SDSP in Lost Lagoon.

The box… prior to putting it together, I used the houndstooth mask to completely cover the bottom and sides of the box, keeping the mask going in the same direction. I used post-it tape to hold it in place in each section. The color is Early espresso ink with the Blending Brushes of course and I tried to vary the depth of color.

Stampin’ Up! Dandy Designs Box for Note Cards

Hello again.. as promised I have the easy box for the super cute Playing In The Rain Note Cards & Envelopes shared these past couple of days. It is made with Dandy Designs 12×12 DSP that is FREE with a $100 order during this time of Sale-a-bration (Jan to end of Feb 2023). I reinforced the box with the white backing that comes with DSP. It’s perfect for a project like this!

Stampin' Up! Box for Note Cards & Envelopes

As you can see I’ve tied it closed with a wonderful Metallic Mesh Ribbon, then tied the banner on with the Simply Elegant Trim in silver. Here’s what the box looks like on the inside with the reinforcement panels in place.

How to:

  • Begin by cutting a panel 9 1/2 x 12 and score on the long side @ 3 1/2, 5 1/2 9 1/2 & 11
  • Turn and score on short side @ 2″ & 7 1/2″
  • Burnish all score lines and trim as shown in next photo… trim just to 2″ score line on each side, remembering the flap is the smallest score (11) That first flap is also
Stampin' Up! Bor for Note Cards, scoring & trim
  • The top of the photo shows the front flap and the two trimmed flaps that are part of the top. Notice that I rounded the flap ends.
  • The next ‘flaps’ I am going to number as 2, 3. & 4 – and they relate to both sides
  • Fold in flaps 3 and put adhesive on both flaps 2 as they will be the sides and will attach to flaps 4 when folded.
  • Fold, keeping the # 3 flaps loose and on the inside.
  • Flaps #3 are now adhered to the sides – and done! However, I chose to add panels of the white boards from DSP packaging.
    • Cut pieces: sides ~ 2 x 3 1/2 (cut 2) and adhere to inside sides; front & back ~ 5 3/8 x 3 1/2 (cut 2) and adhere to insides front & back; and finally the bottom ~ 2 x 5 3/8 (cut 2 and adhere together) and adhere to bottom.
Stampin' Up! Box for Note Cards & Envelopes, reinforced

I have filled this box with six decorated note cards plus their coordinating envelopes. Those cards may be seen here and here. I did one more card just for fun.

The card front is Rain or Shine DSP covering the entire front of the card. I stamped the clouds using Smoky Slate ink and the Playing in the Rain stamp set, then die cut the clouds with the Playing in the Rain Dies. They are added to the card with dimensionals. The cute turtle is fussy cut from the Rain or Shine DSP and added with liquid glue. The banner is stamped in Smoky Slate ink with the Playing in the Rain stamp set and trimmed with the Banners Pick a punch then a strip of Old Olive added to the back with Stampin’ Seal then attached to the card with dimensionals. The inside of the card has an adorable flower bunch die cut from the Rain or Shine DSP with Stylish Shapes Dies and added with liquid glue. The envelope is stamped in Smoky Slate ink with Playing in the Rain stamp set and colored with Daffodil Delight & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.

SU! A Box and Tasteful Labels Dies

Hello again… did you miss me yesterday? I hope so :o) Today’s project is not a card at all. I was doing some tidying of my craft space yesterday  (seems as though I’m always doing that) and decided to make a container to hold die cut pieces, stamped pieces, odds and ends like that. I didn’t want anything too large (my crafting area is rather small) and I wanted it to compliment other containers. Gosh, do you need all that explanation? Maybe not… anyway, here is my project.

And a side view…

#2

And here’s a view with the box slightly open, so you can see the holder slides out…

SU! Tasteful Labels Dies & storage
#3

I made two of these, pretty much same size… one holds paper clips and small binder clips – both of which I use a lot. The other holds those die cuts I mentioned earlier. The difference in the two boxes is that one has a ribbon for sliding the holder out of the sleeve, the other has a taller ‘end’ for sliding through the sleeve in and out. Hopefully you can see that in the photos.

Supplies used…

  • Window sheet – 2 3/8 x 5
  • Tasteful Labels Dies
  • Just Jade cs (for the base) 5 1/2 x 8
  • Forever Greenery DSP 7 3/4 x 5
  • Tear n Tape

I wanted the base to have strength so the sides of the base needed to fold over themselves. Here’s are two fairly good pictures of what the base looked like after scoring and trimming.

Storage base

Storage base
#5

  • Score around all sides 5/8″ & 1 3/8″ and burnish.
  • Trim as in above photos, then add Tear n Tape as in photos.
  • Fold over those longer areas seen in photo 5, adhering the sides for strength.
  • Turn over and complete the adhering of the ends so the box is now solid and secure.

The top… BIG TIP… when creating tops or lids for boxes, scoring needs to be just a shade different so the box slides in and out easily. Use a shim against the side of the scoring tool to create that needed space. I used a piece of window sheet, but you could easily use a piece of cs.

  • Cut the Forever Greenery DSP 7 3/4 x 5
  • With your shim to the far edge of the scoring tool, score at 7/8, 3 15/16, 4 3/16 and 6 5/8. Burnish. Add Tear n Tape to one end.
  • Determine which wide side is your top, and use the Tasteful Labels Dies to die cut an opening
  • Adhere window sheet (2 3/8 x 5) to inside with Tear n Tape
  • Wrap around your base for fitting. Trim excess if necessary then adhere together. Voila!  Here’s the photo of the completed box again…
