Stampin’ Up! Paper Decorations

Good Monday morning! Are you all adjusted to the time change? I confess, I am not. And our dog definitely is not. Enough already…. Today’s post is about ornaments or packaging, whichever you choose. And I forget what they are called 🥴, but they are very fun to make.

Aren’t these fun? Of course, these are the same, just turned over to the other side so you can see both. The DSP is Painted Christmas. I simply took a 12″ length about 1 1/4″ in width and scored it every 1/2″, then folded & scored so it was like an accordion, then adhered the two ends together to form the circle. I also found it was better to use a glue gun once it was at this stage to adhere the center circle to the accordion. Below is a photo prior to the center being attached, then the reverse side after..

I used the silicone mat as a foundation for the accordion circle, and a glue gun to add adhesive to the center area and added the die cut circle. The die cut circles are from die cut from Garden Green card stock and use the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Your next question might be, “What are you going to do with these?” Here are some ideas…

attach to a package front
add string and hang at various lengths in a window, or on a bannister
decorate a Christmas tree
add string and hang at various lengths from a spring tension rod in an entryway

What’s fun about these is how different they look in various widths. These second set of photos – the width was more like 1 3/4″. And of course, you could make these from regular card stock and die cut the center from a coordinating color. Here, I was just using odds & ends of strips left over.

Stampin’ Up! Kraft Note Cards & Happiness Abounds

Good Saturday morning… it is JUST getting daylight here in New Jersey ~ 7 AM and with the time change tonight it will still be very dark tomorrow at this point – ugh… Next week at this time, I will be attending the Stampin’ Up! Convention and will be in Jacksonville, FL with several Stampin’ Up buddies. I’ll send some photos of us having a good time. You can think about joining us next year :O) I have a cheerful card for you today using the Kraft Note Cards & envelopes and the Happiness Abounds bundle.

These Blossoming Happiness Dies dies are so fun to use. You can see the detail of the one die on the left. The other die I used for this card is the leaf die. I first stamped a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock with the leaf stamp from Happiness Abounds stamp set then die cut it. It’s perfect with this daisy punched using the Medium Daisy Punch. The middle of the daisy has a Daffodil Delight dot from the Glossy Dots Assortment. And the sentiments are from Happiness Abounds stamp set and I used Memento Black ink to stamp them. I appreciate the mix of fonts :O) I will be making several of these for a group that has a member moving and they wanted to write special notes. And since I’m making several, the Stamparatus will come in very handy to stamp the sentiments bing, bam, boom 😁

A couple of other tidbits about this card: I punched two daisies, adhered them together with liquid glue then added them to the card front with a single dimensional. The leaf was added with liquid glue, slipping it behind the daisy.

For the inside, I left room for comments and added just a simple floral bouquet at the bottom, stamped with Happiness Abounds stamp set & Memento ink on a Basic White panel.

I decided not to do anything to the envelope. I know – just not right, right?! But I wanted to spend time on the card itself and I think the envelopes will not be kept. It’s a pretty little card and I think the recipient will like it. The Kraft Note Cards and Envelopes were new in the Annual catalog, so still available and reasonably priced.

Stampin’ Up! Trimming the Tree for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hello again – blog hop time 😁 and we have a sketch challenge – Christmas! Woohoo! Who doesn’t love the shiny, glittery, bright colors of the holidays? (It’s all the advertising that drives me crazy!)

I’ve chosen to work with the Trimming the Tree bundle. I love what happens with the tree dies in this set of dies ~ it creates all the elements of the tree (branches?) After die cutting, they can be poked out (which I did!).

I began by die cutting the tree outline using the Tree Trimming Dies (the dies retired in September but you can use them if you have them) on the Regals 6×6 DSP in Shaded Spruce and set that aside. I die cut the detailed tree using the Tree Trimming Dies on a smaller panel of Basic White, then again in Shaded Spruce and layered them together with liquid glue then adhered that to a Basic White panel with liquid glue. I put dimensionals on the back of the Regals 6×6 DSP and adhered it over the detailed tree die cut. This allows the tree branches to stick up/ out to give the tree some depth ~ and I love this look!. I then used the Shimmery Crystal Effects to add to many of the branch tips. See photo below for a better ‘look see’. I die cut a star from the Tree Trimmings Dies using the Real Red & White Glimmer 6×6 paper. I put a mini dimensional on it and attached it to the tree top.

I stamped the sentiment from Trimming the Tree stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Basic White piece, then die cut that with the banner die in the Tree Trimmings Dies. I adhered this with dimensionals then added a couple of Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

For the inside… I took the leftover die cut of the outline tree, turned it over to use the opposite side :O), adhered it to the inside Basic White panel. I stamped the sentiment from the Trimming the Tree stamp set in Shaded Spruce, added this panel to the inside of the card and… done!

I kept the envelope simple… added a strip of the Regals 6×6 DSP in Shaded Spruce to the flap, trimmed it to fit and called it completed. I like it and hope you do too :O) The DSP is 3 3/4 x 5; the larger Basic White panel is 4 x 5 1/4; the card base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.

Stampin’ Up! Sympathy Cards

Welcome to Wednesday – the midweek hump :O) And how’s it going for you? It’s going well here. I have two cards for you today, both very similar and are sympathy cards. It’s most unfortunate we need these, but it is necessary and I want them to reflect my sincerity in the family or friend loss. These are pretty simple cards, unfussy, but I think they ‘fill the bill’.

This is the first card, and it uses the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder, Deckled Rectangle Dies, Metallic Edge Cotton Ribbon (wonderful silver trim!), Inspired Thoughts stamp set (sentiment stamped in Smoky Slate ink) and Abigail Rose DSP plus Pastel Pearls in Blue. Here’s the inside and the envelope. The card base is Smoky Slate; layers are Very Vanilla. The DSP is Abigail Rose.

Card 2 uses the very same layout but the card base is Basic White; Abigail Rose DSP but a different pattern, Beauty of Friendship stamp set for the front sentiment (fussy cut) and Inspired Thoughts stamp set for the inside sentiment, each stamped in Smoky Slate ink. Crinkled Seam Binding is the bow with a bit of the Silver cording to tie it together. The Stitched Greenery Die was used for the background and of course, the Deckled Rectangle Dies to die cut the panels of DSP & Basic White. I really like the leaf pattern here and how the Stitched Greenery Die further enhances that aspect. And yes, more of the Pastel Pearls in Blue. They are such a soft shade they easily pass for Smoky Slate even though they aren’t :O)

Gosh, this envelope photo looks blurry! Sorry ’bout that… the DSP is the same Abigail Rose pattern as on the card front. And I stamped the leaf pattern from Cottage Rose stamp set in Smoky Slate ink so it’s soft and not too demanding to the eye.

These are two understated sympathy cards, nothing demanding to the eye and a welcome addition for a sympathy card.

Stampin’ Up! New Month, New SU! Offerings

Good Tuesday morning! It’s raining here this morning and has all night. Temperatures went up, now they are dropping ~ strange weather pattern. But… ‘nuf of that… let’s talk new offerings from Stampin’ Up! It’s the Fitting Florets Suite of products available now! WooHoo. Demonstrators, me included, have been playing with this for a bit and are really using it a lot. For today’s example, I’ve paired the Framed Florets stamp set with a different DSP only because the DSP was cut & sitting in front of me. 😏 Here’s the card & the inside so you can see some of the beauty of the flowers. I’ll also share a few of the cards I’ve already shared with this beautious suite.

Stampin' Up! Framed Florets w/ Abigail Rose DSP

For the card front I’ve fussy cut this sentiment from Framed Florets stamp set and adhered it over the Sahara Sand ribbon from the Twill Combo Pack. For the inside of the card I’ve stamped this gorgeous floral spray in Early Espresso and colored it with Stampin’ Blends (So Saffron, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade) to coordinate with the card front. This spray stamp is just so sweet and delicate. And it coordinates so well with the red roses in this DSP. Here are a couple of other cards I’ve created from this suite of products.

In this card you can see a different stamp set used from the suite, Framed & Festive stamp set – and a couple of the stunning leaf dies. The oval dies in this are wonderful! The Gold Adhesive Swirls are used on each of the cards below for extra embellishment.

In the photo with the blue DSP – that’s from this suite of products, as are the stamps on the front of the card, Framed Florets stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Dies Do The Work!

Good afternoon ~ it’s Sunday and I have pretty card for you today, created by combining a few different dies & mostly Thick Basic White card stock. I was inspired by several white cards I saw on Pinterest.

Stampin' Up! Frosted Flurry Dies, Painted Labels Dies & Grove Dies

I began this card by doing the die cutting from Thick Basic White card stock. It’s a bit stronger than the regular Basic White: the wreath is from Painted Labels Dies; the snowflakes are from Frosted Flurry Dies; and the deer is from the Grove Dies and it is cut from Crumb Cake card stock. I stamped the sentiment using Crumb Cake ink and the new Framed & Festive stamp set. The next step was to run a panel of Basic White through the Timber 3D embossing Folder to create a nice textured background. The stars were adhered to the wreath with a rolled in half glue dot, overlapping ever so slightly. I adhered the wreath directly to the dry embossed panel, then added the deer with mini dimensionals. I added the doubled ribbon bow made from Linen Thread with a glue dot. (This made three points of interest in Crumb Cake!)This completed panel was adhered to the Thick Basic White tent-fold A2 card base. I thought some sparkly would be nice so added the Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins (in white) on the snowflake centers.

For the inside… I used the embossing buddy to clean the area of static & stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink, then sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder. The sentiment comes from the new Framed & Festive stamp set (available to customers Nov 1) I had an extra snowflake left over and added it to the sentiment, then another Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequin, in Gold this time. I adhered this to the inside of the card and the card was done!

I really like this mostly white look and decided to only run a panel of Basic White through the Timber 3D embossing folder, adhere it to the flap and trim to fit. Done, done! And I love it! Is there anything I would change – yes… I would move the deer more to the left so the ears were closer to the snowflakes on the left, creating a little more space. The other thing I would do is stamp the Noel with VersaMark ink and sprinkle with Gold embossing powder & heat set. I might also cut down the embossed panel a bit, layer it on another Basic White, put dimensionals on the back & adhere to the card base. So, you know what this means…I’ll have to make another with these changes 🥴😀👍.

Stampin’ Up! Wonderful Snowflakes and In Color 6×6 DSP

Good Friday morning! Wow – the week has flown… and I have a friendly, wintry card for you today. Wintry – because I’m using Wonderful Snowflakes and In Color 6×6 DSP in Starry Sky. I’ve cut a square just slightly larger than the snowflake and adhered that to a Basic White square a bit larger than that and set it aside while preparing the card base.

Stampin' Up! Wonderful Snowflakes & In Color 6x6 DSP

The card base is Thick Basic White. I took another panel of regular Basic White and splattered it with my Starry Sky Marker by flicking the brush tip end on the lid, flicking it away from me & onto the panel. When it was covered enough, I added a strip of In Color 6×6 DSP in Starry Sky, and adhered that to a Starry Sky panel slightly larger. I put dimensionals on the back and added it to the card base. I added the square with the Wonderful Snowflake to that with dimensionals as well. Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins in white were added, then 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots in Starry Sky. I wrapped the 2022-2024 In Color Bakers Twine in Starry Sky, around my three fingers three times and tied a knot then adhered it with a glue dot – and the card front was done.

Because I wanted this to just be available for a note (of thanks, of appreciation, whatever) I kept it really simple: A Basic White panel adhered to a Starry Sky panel and into the inside of the card. This could easily serve as a masculine card – and I like having those ready at hand. I can easily add a sentiment & make it a birthday card too :O)

The last but not least – is the envelope… more of the In Color 6×6 DSP in Starry Sky adhered to the envelope flap & trimmed to fit. Done. Oh I do like how this came together :O) Card cuts for this project will be listed at the end of this post.

Good Thursday morning! We have a fun sketch challenge for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.

Stampin' Up! Inkin' Hop Sketch Challenge

This is such a fun sketch that my mind was whirling with ideas. I finally settled with this card.

I’ve used the Sweetest Christmas DSP as the focus for this challenge – both as background and center image. These candy canes are so cute! I’ve also used Layering Circles Dies, Harvest Dies for the sentiment banner, 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine in Sweet Sorbet, and for additional embellishment the Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins in Sweet Sorbet. It should be no surprise then, that all the layer backgrounds are Sweet Sorbet :O)

Stampin' Up! Sweet Candy Canes for the inside.2

For the inside… Sweet Candy Canes stamp set and Sweet Sorbet ink for the candy cane & Garden Green ink for the sentiment – also from Sweet Candy Canes stamp set ~ stamped on Basic White card stock and layered on Sweet Sorbet, then adhered to the inside of the card.

For the envelope, more of the same Sweetest Christmas DSP adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit – and that was it! So easy, so festive, so perfect for this challenge. Stampin’ Up! Texture Chic and Snowflakes

Good Tuesday morning! I was driving around town yesterday doing errands and oh my goodness – the tree colors are spectacular! The yellows, golds, oranges and rust, reds – they are in their prime showing off. It was simply jaw-dropping stunning. Of course – that has nothing to do with my card today, I just simply HAD to share the glory that is out there… Today’s card… Wintry 3D Embossing Folder (using the snowflake), Taylor Made Tags and the wonderful Texture Chic DSP share the spotlight on this card.

Stampin' Up! Texture Chic DSP & Snowflakes.1

I used the Chic Dies that coordinate with the Season of Chic stamp set to create the die cut snowflakes: Basic White, Soft Succulent and some Kraft card stock. I used the Tailor Made Tags Dies for, what else, the various tags :O) Two of them are die cut from Texture Chic Specialty DSP and the top one is is Basic White stamped with Pool Party ink. Everything is layered: some with liquid adhesive, others with dimensionals. The bow is from the fabulous Threaded Twine. I simply cut a length and pulled several of the threads apart and made a bow. It has a very natural look that I like a lot. Once I did all the die cuts, I put the card together: Crumb Cake card stock for the card base. This was layered with a panel of Basic White run through the Wintry 3D embossing folder twice (to fill the page so to speak). OH… I DID use a Blending Brush to add a bit of Crumb Cake ink to various snowflakes – to give it a bit of a vintage look.Then the rest was added as you see. I die cut the larger snowflake twice: once in Basic White, again in Soft Succulent and adhered them together, holding all the inner pieces together as best I could. For glam I added the Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels in the center of many of the snowflakes.

On a Basic White panel I stamped the snowflake (love this stamp!!!) in Pool Party ink then the ‘splatter’ stamp also from the Season of Chic stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink. So here’s my confession… I wish I had done it the other way: snowflake in Evening Evergreen and splatter in Pool Party. As it is the splatter is too strong, it shows more than the snowflake 😦 Once the panel was added to the inside of the card – it was done.

For the envelope, more of the Texture Chic DSP on the envelope flap, adhered & trimmed to fit. I stamped the snowflake in Evening Evergreen ink and love it! Of course, it is from Season of Chic stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Christmas with Awash in Beauty DSP & Wonderful Snowflakes

I’ve taken some unexpected DSP and combined it with Wonderful Snowflakes & Wintry 3D Embossing Folder to make a really pretty Christmas Card. I have also heat embossed the Wonderful Snowflake with silver embossing powder. I’ve also added a fun ‘knot bow’ with the Metallic Mesh Ribbon.

Stampin' Up! C'mas w/ Awash in Beauty DSP & Wonderful Snowflakes.1

The card base is a piece of Blushing Bride card stock with a slightly smaller layer of Basic White. On top of that is a panel of the Awash In Beauty DSP embossed with the Wintry 3D embossing folder – the snowflake. Remember this embossing folder is a two-set and narrow. Narrow means they could fit in the mini cut & emboss machine. However, I was embossing a panel larger than what would fit in the mini, and ran it through twice. Once embossed I adhered this to the Basic White panel on the card front. Next I worked on the Wonderful Snowflake: rubbed gently with the embossing buddy, tapped the snowflake with the VersaMark ink pad, sprinkled it with silver embossing powder and heat embossed. I did this twice so there was a smooth layer of silver on the snowflake. And when I used the Heat Tool, I heated from the underside of the snowflake. Next I cut a Basic White circle with the largest of the Layering Circle Dies. I took Blending Brush and Blushing Bride ink to add some color. I did the same with Merry Merlot ink. I added the Wonderful Snowflake with a dimensional. I cut a square of Silver Foil, then a slightly larger one of Basic White and adhered them all together, and then directly to the embossed front.

I stamped the sentiment using the Hope & Peace stamp set: first with VersaMark then sprinkling with silver embossing powder and heat setting with the Heat Tool – all on a strip of Awash In Beauty DSP. I adhered this to another strip of Basic White, put dimensionals on it and added it to the card base. The last step was to tie a knot with the Metallic Mesh Ribbon and adhere it with a glue dot. And the card front – was done!

For the inside I took another panel of Basic White and ran just the left edge through with the Wintry 3D Snowflake embossing folder. I then stamped the sentiment in Blushing Bride ink – the sentiment came from Hope & Peace stamp set. This panel was adhered to the inside of the card – and I called it done…

For the envelope I ran a piece of the Awash In Beauty DSP through the same Wintry 3D snowflake embossing folder and adhered it to the flap of the envelope. That was it. I love the sparkle of the silver foil and the heat embossing!
